This week on Metal Gear Mondays, the end is such a granini.
[00:00:10]
Don't call me a granini!
[00:00:30]
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to another episode of Metal Gear Mondays,
[00:00:55]
the Metal Gear Solid podcast where we cover all of the games top to bottom, in and out,
[00:00:59]
and have to write in chronological release order.
[00:01:03]
As always, I am your host, Alessio Somerfield, and this week I am joined as always by Isaac
[00:01:07]
Lim.
[00:01:08]
I've got my peanut butter M&Ms by my side.
[00:01:13]
I am joined by Samuel Wright.
[00:01:16]
I'm at peace because I'm living my life like we're a plan.
[00:01:21]
And we have a very special guest.
[00:01:23]
This week we have the one, the only.
[00:01:25]
Nicky Ziggy Stardust, Buyakasha.
[00:01:29]
Nicky C in the place to be, Buyakasha!
[00:01:32]
AKA Nick Ziggler.
[00:01:34]
I don't have peanut butter M&Ms.
[00:01:37]
I'm unfortunate.
[00:01:39]
I'm so sorry.
[00:01:41]
We had Nick on the show.
[00:01:42]
We're actually done.
[00:01:43]
We're parting ways right about now.
[00:01:46]
It's been good to talk to you.
[00:01:48]
Great episode.
[00:01:49]
We'll talk to you later.
[00:01:52]
Watch my member of the...
[00:01:53]
Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:01:54]
Why is there this cane around my neck being pulled off stage?
[00:01:59]
So, on that note, Nick, can you tell us a little bit about what it is that you do and
[00:02:06]
what got you into Metal Gear Solid?
[00:02:09]
Well, what it is that I do is a lot different than...
[00:02:13]
When do you do?
[00:02:14]
When do I do?
[00:02:15]
Well, I do it all the time.
[00:02:17]
Who do you do?
[00:02:19]
Who do?
[00:02:20]
Who do?
[00:02:21]
Who do?
[00:02:22]
You know what?
[00:02:23]
I'm a man.
[00:02:24]
No one's going to pick up that one.
[00:02:28]
Just leave it at that.
[00:02:29]
He's just a bunch of dead air.
[00:02:34]
You remind me of man.
[00:02:35]
I can hear you with the vacuum of silence that you created.
[00:02:39]
I should.
[00:02:40]
Anyway, we digress.
[00:02:41]
Tell us about yourself.
[00:02:45]
Well, okay.
[00:02:46]
So, I am the...
[00:02:49]
I'm going to call myself thegeekti.me.
[00:02:52]
Wow, I just...
[00:02:53]
I'm so fucking used to just saying that.
[00:02:56]
I'm going to call myself the Black Sheep because I'm straddling the line between a content creator
[00:03:01]
and a dedicated fan.
[00:03:03]
I...
[00:03:04]
Those of you that do not know, I make the Mad Bad Book Club, which is another geek time
[00:03:09]
podcast.
[00:03:10]
Yeah, or I'm one of those.
[00:03:13]
Thanks.
[00:03:14]
Elizio, I appreciate it.
[00:03:15]
You are so mad.
[00:03:16]
Good.
[00:03:17]
Yeah, I do that.
[00:03:26]
That's my podcast.
[00:03:27]
But that's not why I'm here for now.
[00:03:30]
I'm going to plug it hard at the end again.
[00:03:32]
Anyway, but Metal Gear Solid is...
[00:03:37]
Metal Gear Solid 3 specifically.
[00:03:39]
I'm rambling at this point, so my thoughts won't seem connected for a while.
[00:03:43]
Metal Gear Solid 3 is my first Metal Gear Solid game, which is...
[00:03:50]
You know, it's kind of like...
[00:03:52]
It's why I really wanted to jump on the chance to be on this podcast also.
[00:03:55]
It was because it was my first Metal Gear Solid and it's the one that I've completed
[00:03:58]
the most.
[00:03:59]
Not even Metal Gear Solid game.
[00:04:00]
It's the video game, period, full stop that I have completed the most out of any other
[00:04:05]
video game.
[00:04:09]
And that's my Metal Gear Solid 3 story thus far.
[00:04:13]
I think that's all I've got to say about that.
[00:04:16]
So for this play through, you're playing on 3DS, right?
[00:04:19]
Hell yes, son.
[00:04:21]
I'm just so interested to see on how some of this stuff...
[00:04:26]
I'm sure we'll dedicate a chunk of time just talking about some of the differences, but
[00:04:30]
like that.
[00:04:31]
I think I played the first 10 minutes of the game on 3DS and I just wanted to vomit.
[00:04:35]
Yeah.
[00:04:36]
I mean, I don't blame you?
[00:04:38]
I don't blame you.
[00:04:39]
We'll have questions abound.
[00:04:42]
Alright.
[00:04:43]
Can you tell us a little bit more about your podcast that you do?
[00:04:46]
Just a quick elevator pitch?
[00:04:48]
Like what kind of show is it?
[00:04:49]
Why should people listen to it?
[00:04:51]
It's a...
[00:04:52]
Cue elevator music here.
[00:04:53]
Thank you so much.
[00:04:54]
Cue the music that plays in Grunin's lab when you first meet him.
[00:04:58]
Anyway.
[00:04:59]
Well, Mad Bad Book Club, we were originally starting out as like a podcast that was going
[00:05:09]
to read like bad fan fiction, but you know, we've sort of morphed into this blob of reading
[00:05:16]
shit for you and making fun of it.
[00:05:19]
Thus far we've basically been reading through My Immortal, which is the best thing ever,
[00:05:23]
and you should listen to the podcast or read it yourself because it's the funniest fucking
[00:05:27]
thing on the planet.
[00:05:31]
But like, otherwise, me and Taco, one of the other hosts, have read Catfish Man, which
[00:05:37]
is a 4chan green text story, and that episode was pretty okay.
[00:05:43]
But yeah, I surround myself with food because I've got my two other hookah hosts, Taco,
[00:05:47]
which is Mabud and Mango, which is some lesbian from Florida.
[00:05:52]
And...
[00:05:53]
Nice.
[00:05:54]
Precursor.
[00:05:55]
Some lesbian from Florida.
[00:06:00]
That's the necessary detail.
[00:06:02]
How did you meet Mango?
[00:06:04]
Like, how did that come about?
[00:06:07]
That's a story for a different time, actually.
[00:06:10]
It's a really long one.
[00:06:12]
Okay, we'll talk about that later.
[00:06:16]
Very nice.
[00:06:18]
We'll keep in touch.
[00:06:20]
Well, I am, neither is the same, a big fan of what you guys do with Mad Bad Book Club.
[00:06:24]
Absolutely.
[00:06:25]
I definitely recommended it to other people, and I know some of the other folks who listen
[00:06:29]
to this show already do listen to you guys, but if you are one of the few who don't, you
[00:06:35]
should definitely check it out.
[00:06:37]
I really do appreciate that, too.
[00:06:39]
I really, really appreciate it.
[00:06:42]
It's really good, dude, because I wouldn't have put it on the network if I didn't think
[00:06:46]
so.
[00:06:47]
Amen.
[00:06:48]
As soon as Erika, who is Erin Dupasqually's wife, as soon as Erika saw you guys were reading
[00:06:56]
My Immortal Sheet was in.
[00:06:58]
I noticed she likes the Facebook posts that you guys put up on Keytime, and I was like,
[00:07:04]
oh, hey.
[00:07:05]
She's a very supportive person, and she likes all of them, but I can just tell she's giving
[00:07:10]
a special one to you guys.
[00:07:12]
Yeah.
[00:07:13]
Extra special.
[00:07:14]
Awesome.
[00:07:15]
Sweet.
[00:07:16]
Before we get super started in this episode, I did want to cover a couple things real quick.
[00:07:21]
First off, this episode is going to be covering Grenini Gorky Forest all the way through to
[00:07:28]
the battle with the end.
[00:07:31]
As always, we do side ops, which are our off-week listener-response-driven episodes.
[00:07:37]
If anybody has anything to say about Grenini Gorky Lab, the battle with the fear, the
[00:07:42]
battle with the end, particularly the battle with the end tends to be a very, very, very
[00:07:46]
big thing that people want to discuss when discussing MGS3.
[00:07:51]
We want to hear from you guys.
[00:07:52]
This is one of the most beloved games in the series, and yet, after the first few episodes,
[00:07:57]
we've noticed that listener responses have kind of dwindled a little bit.
[00:08:01]
We just wanted to do our due diligence.
[00:08:04]
I know we've been kind of lax a day's ago about mentioning it frequently, but if you
[00:08:09]
guys want, originally we had the write-in deadline be this Saturday, which is the day
[00:08:16]
that we're recording this.
[00:08:17]
However, we're giving you guys an extra week.
[00:08:20]
If you guys want, take this time to write in via Facebook or the contact form after
[00:08:26]
you listen to this episode.
[00:08:27]
We'd greatly appreciate it if you've never written in before.
[00:08:30]
We would love to hear from some new voices, and if you are somebody who frequently writes
[00:08:34]
in, continue to do so because we'd love to hear from you guys.
[00:08:39]
Before that, I had a couple of quick little amendments to previous episode number 32.
[00:08:45]
I have since been kind of playing on the Vita, which I did not do prior.
[00:08:51]
A couple things kind of stood out to me in playing through some stuff.
[00:08:56]
The Vita does not have the D-pad sneaking that the console versions do.
[00:09:00]
Instead, you hold the L trigger and you move with the joystick.
[00:09:05]
They've also done some other kind of cool things, neat consolations to translate the
[00:09:10]
controls.
[00:09:11]
I like that.
[00:09:12]
Yeah, it's pretty cool.
[00:09:14]
A lot of things have been streamlined.
[00:09:16]
You can interrogate people with your knife by actually holding the touch button.
[00:09:21]
Oh, that's really neat.
[00:09:24]
Like pressing against it and stuff like that.
[00:09:27]
So there's some neat stuff.
[00:09:30]
And likewise too, I definitely noticed that Snake's Health is kind of a classic MGS1 style
[00:09:37]
where it gets more plentiful as the game progresses.
[00:09:40]
So as you defeat bosses, your health bar gets larger.
[00:09:44]
Yeah, I noticed that.
[00:09:45]
They don't make a big deal out of it.
[00:09:46]
Yeah.
[00:09:47]
They just kind of say, here you go.
[00:09:49]
I think they kind of made a big deal out of it in one.
[00:09:52]
Because you see it.
[00:09:54]
You see it get bigger.
[00:09:55]
But not so much.
[00:09:56]
It did, doesn't it?
[00:09:57]
Yeah.
[00:09:58]
I guess I don't remember that much.
[00:09:59]
Oh.
[00:10:00]
Yeah.
[00:10:01]
So Snake will even do this weird hand gesture kind of adjusting his like, almost looks
[00:10:06]
like he's popping his collar or something.
[00:10:08]
Swag.
[00:10:09]
But then you see the health bar like whoo in the top left when he does it.
[00:10:15]
Actually, yeah, I guess I remember that now.
[00:10:17]
Oh.
[00:10:18]
So in MGS3, like Sam said, they don't really, there's no pomp and circumstance.
[00:10:21]
It's just you notice all of a sudden like, wait a minute, I have a bigger health bar.
[00:10:25]
Yeah.
[00:10:26]
So I thought that was neat.
[00:10:27]
And health, because like the stealth stuff and the stamina, health also isn't that big
[00:10:32]
of a deal in this game.
[00:10:34]
I mean, it kind of is in some of the boss fights that we talk about on this episode.
[00:10:39]
Because if you get shot once, like that's half of your health.
[00:10:43]
Yeah.
[00:10:44]
But, but yeah.
[00:10:45]
And then other than that, the other note that I wanted to talk about is how the fuck did
[00:10:49]
we miss on the first Operation Snake Eater episode when you go back to the starting
[00:10:55]
point from the virtuous mission.
[00:10:58]
There are goats walking around.
[00:11:01]
And I totally did not remember to mention that you can just fucking punch the goats
[00:11:05]
and knock them out.
[00:11:06]
And I don't know how we miss that.
[00:11:08]
Like it's the funniest thing I've ever seen.
[00:11:10]
I did that this go around.
[00:11:13]
Like spoiler alert.
[00:11:14]
So they're in the aren't they in the end?
[00:11:17]
Serena's too.
[00:11:18]
Yeah.
[00:11:19]
Like yeah.
[00:11:20]
If you're hurting if you're hurting for some food and while you're fighting the ending,
[00:11:23]
then you just go over to a goat and then start punching.
[00:11:28]
Punching the face.
[00:11:29]
Just punch a goat in the face.
[00:11:30]
I will say whenever you whenever you kick a rabbit, it makes the most satisfying sound.
[00:11:35]
Which is like squeak like squeak.
[00:11:37]
Yeah.
[00:11:38]
It's like it's like it sounds like you kicked a fucking tree trunk or something.
[00:11:43]
I think I'm thinking of a frog.
[00:11:44]
So so I I shot a rabbit so I could get it.
[00:11:50]
And my roommate Nick was watching me play for a little bit and I shot the rabbit and
[00:11:54]
it just kind of like did a weird like dramatic backflip when it died.
[00:11:57]
He goes, oh man.
[00:11:58]
They kind of ran away and do nothing to you.
[00:12:01]
Yeah.
[00:12:02]
It's it's very sad.
[00:12:03]
Yeah.
[00:12:04]
One of my notes.
[00:12:05]
If you like enjoy animals.
[00:12:06]
One of my notes for like the first area that we're about to cover is I shot a rabbit
[00:12:09]
and got sad.
[00:12:13]
Hashtag shot rabbit.
[00:12:14]
That's sad.
[00:12:15]
Yeah.
[00:12:16]
I just got like really upset.
[00:12:17]
I was like, man.
[00:12:18]
Yeah.
[00:12:19]
That's it now.
[00:12:21]
It also gives you something else other than the meat, obviously, but it gives you serum.
[00:12:28]
Yeah.
[00:12:29]
Oh, yeah.
[00:12:30]
Which I thought was cool, which is which is going to be important.
[00:12:32]
Come fears about it.
[00:12:34]
Yeah.
[00:12:35]
No.
[00:12:36]
Yeah.
[00:12:37]
I also had one other quick amendment.
[00:12:38]
I was thinking about this.
[00:12:39]
Maybe the boss shot snakes drone with her gun in particular so that there would be United
[00:12:46]
States ammunition shot into it to kind of further solidify her defection.
[00:12:53]
Maybe that was like a symbolic thing.
[00:12:55]
Hmm.
[00:12:56]
Like because I was thinking about it and like she specifically uses her gun, which is like
[00:12:59]
a modified United States M16.
[00:13:03]
It's called the Patriot dude, right?
[00:13:05]
Yeah.
[00:13:06]
Yeah.
[00:13:07]
I don't know.
[00:13:08]
It's kind of a big deal that she decided to shoot it herself as opposed to using like
[00:13:12]
a Russian gun.
[00:13:13]
Yeah.
[00:13:14]
So I don't know.
[00:13:16]
Just something that came to mind.
[00:13:18]
Yeah.
[00:13:19]
But yeah.
[00:13:20]
So I'm going to go ahead and get it started.
[00:13:24]
You first zone of music here.
[00:13:54]
Oh, this is for the Grinini Gorky forest, which is where we locked off.
[00:13:59]
My God.
[00:14:00]
I tell you what, you ever heard about that game Trackmania?
[00:14:04]
No.
[00:14:05]
This game right now is Trapmania.
[00:14:10]
So much.
[00:14:11]
More trap than a new Diplo album.
[00:14:15]
Yeah.
[00:14:16]
It's pretty cool actually.
[00:14:18]
Yeah.
[00:14:19]
Actually, I completely got caught off guard.
[00:14:22]
So as soon as I entered this area, I threw on the thermal goggles because I knew going
[00:14:26]
into it, I was like, oh man, we're going to trap paradise.
[00:14:30]
So I threw it through on the therm G's and started just kind of wandering around based
[00:14:34]
on the thermal scope, I guess.
[00:14:38]
And 100% did not fucking realize that I'd walked into mud.
[00:14:42]
I was like, that's weird.
[00:14:44]
What's happening?
[00:14:45]
And then I turned off the thermal goggles and I was like, I am like chinned deep in mud
[00:14:48]
right now.
[00:14:50]
So it was a bit of a nightmare and I actually almost got completely pulled under.
[00:14:55]
But yeah, so just watch your surroundings, guys.
[00:15:00]
Always be aware.
[00:15:01]
Survive.
[00:15:02]
I think I jungle sometimes.
[00:15:05]
How I wonder how I keep on going.
[00:15:10]
Wow.
[00:15:11]
Sometimes I make myself laugh a lot.
[00:15:16]
Well, and likewise to with the thermal goggles on, there are magazines and instant noodles
[00:15:23]
scattered throughout.
[00:15:24]
And those motherfuckers totally worked as bait with me because I'd be like, oh, what's
[00:15:28]
that item over there?
[00:15:29]
And then I would walk and trigger a trap like a dumbass.
[00:15:33]
So Isaac, before I ask you what your first foray through trap mania was, I totally just
[00:15:41]
realized that we have overlooked.
[00:15:43]
No, we didn't.
[00:15:44]
Favorite section of the show.
[00:15:45]
No, no.
[00:15:46]
Segway us.
[00:15:47]
I think we're going to be stumbling in the dark with Isaac.
[00:15:53]
Somebody should write a fucking jingle.
[00:15:55]
We needed it.
[00:15:56]
We need a jingle.
[00:15:57]
Get on it, man.
[00:15:58]
Yeah, dude.
[00:15:59]
Fuck.
[00:16:00]
And Perry on right.
[00:16:01]
He's the musician.
[00:16:02]
Yeah.
[00:16:03]
Yeah.
[00:16:04]
Let's do it.
[00:16:05]
Yeah.
[00:16:06]
TJ.
[00:16:07]
You do it, dude.
[00:16:08]
He should call himself DJ Chocobo because it's kind of like his name.
[00:16:15]
DJ work.
[00:16:16]
DJ.
[00:16:17]
Anyway, let's get back to Isaac.
[00:16:19]
No, we don't have to.
[00:16:21]
No.
[00:16:22]
Hey, ask me another question.
[00:16:25]
Ask you something else.
[00:16:28]
This is a this is a staple.
[00:16:31]
Isaac, you can't break it.
[00:16:33]
Isaac, I'm a fan and I demand it.
[00:16:36]
The fan demands it.
[00:16:40]
All right.
[00:16:41]
I'm going to try my best, but the last last time we recorded with MGM, it was like three
[00:16:47]
weeks ago.
[00:16:48]
So here we go.
[00:16:53]
You guys ready?
[00:16:55]
Yes.
[00:16:56]
Yes.
[00:16:57]
Yes.
[00:16:58]
Yes, Senpai.
[00:16:59]
I think the last time we were in a cave and then what happened in that cave?
[00:17:12]
We were blind.
[00:17:15]
Were we?
[00:17:16]
And then we could see and then snakes and then crocodiles.
[00:17:28]
I heard there might have been bees for their bees.
[00:17:36]
No bees.
[00:17:37]
Not maybe bees.
[00:17:40]
Oh, gosh, I'm thinking was Freddy Krueger dad there.
[00:17:48]
Freddy Krueger dad.
[00:17:50]
What Krueger daddy?
[00:17:54]
What was that?
[00:17:55]
This week on Metal Gear Monday, Freddy Krueger and Candy Pens, Illegitimate Son.
[00:18:02]
I don't remember what you said.
[00:18:05]
Krueger dad.
[00:18:06]
In all seriousness, though, guys, I'm going to bring it down for you.
[00:18:10]
We did a lot of things and there was one thing in particular that stuck in my mind.
[00:18:19]
I just wanted to tell you guys about that experience.
[00:18:26]
Fighting with a tree frog in the water.
[00:18:37]
Tree frog man.
[00:18:38]
Tree frog man.
[00:18:39]
That's happening right now, actually.
[00:18:42]
That's going to be happening later this episode.
[00:18:45]
Wait, what?
[00:18:46]
Oh, yeah.
[00:18:47]
Oh, is he tree frog man?
[00:18:48]
Tree frog man?
[00:18:49]
Well, kind of.
[00:18:50]
I don't know.
[00:18:51]
He's a weird man.
[00:18:52]
Well, cool.
[00:18:53]
So that lackluster.
[00:18:54]
Honestly, that was pretty quality, Isaac.
[00:18:58]
I'm just kidding.
[00:18:59]
Quality.
[00:19:00]
No, we're going to ask you every time.
[00:19:02]
Quality, Isaac time.
[00:19:04]
So I'd like to hear from you guys.
[00:19:06]
What was your trap, trap land all about?
[00:19:09]
Mr. Nick, let's start off with you because I also want to ask you what the fuck this
[00:19:14]
is like on a 3DS, especially, especially stuff like this.
[00:19:17]
Like, not even a goddamn problem.
[00:19:21]
Okay, so like I said, this is the game I've completed the most full stop.
[00:19:25]
I know the layout of this area 100% and like, I just like have a B line straight to the
[00:19:31]
next area.
[00:19:32]
There's like one of the trip lines or the trip wires that like knocks down one of the,
[00:19:38]
like, I think it was like a spike club thing on two ropes.
[00:19:41]
And to get past that, usually I just kind of fucking dodge roll over it and because
[00:19:45]
you can do that.
[00:19:46]
Any trip wire, if you, if you do like snakes, you know, press attack button while he's running
[00:19:52]
and he does like the big, you know, somersault, you go straight over the trip wires and don't
[00:19:57]
send them off.
[00:19:58]
But yeah, I know where all of the traps are in that area.
[00:20:01]
So, and I guess I'm like so determined to get to ground any Gorky lab that I don't even
[00:20:05]
pay this area any second thought and just straight through it.
[00:20:09]
Don't even dick around and get stuff.
[00:20:11]
Wait, so are you saying that you can dodge roll over the.
[00:20:14]
The wire traps?
[00:20:15]
Yes.
[00:20:16]
And not even trigger them.
[00:20:17]
Holy crap.
[00:20:18]
Yeah.
[00:20:19]
That's amazing.
[00:20:20]
Exactly.
[00:20:21]
So you can also crawl underneath them unless you were making fun of me just now in which
[00:20:25]
case.
[00:20:26]
No.
[00:20:27]
I had no idea.
[00:20:28]
Because I feel like I reiterated that point like five times as I was talking.
[00:20:32]
No.
[00:20:33]
You were, you were, you were Nicholas Zeta Jones from that spy movie.
[00:20:38]
Oh no.
[00:20:39]
Dodging all the, all the.
[00:20:40]
Yeah, dude.
[00:20:41]
Hell yeah.
[00:20:42]
Except for with trip wires and swing traps.
[00:20:45]
Yeah.
[00:20:46]
Except more woods and less shotgun.
[00:20:49]
The world needs more shotgun.
[00:20:52]
Especially Metal Gear Solid.
[00:20:54]
That's actually true.
[00:20:56]
And you mean in Metal Gear Solid?
[00:20:59]
Metal Gear Solid.
[00:21:00]
Metal Gear.
[00:21:01]
Metal Gear.
[00:21:02]
So Isaac, what was it like for you buddy?
[00:21:05]
Not terrible.
[00:21:06]
Surprisingly.
[00:21:07]
Oh wow.
[00:21:08]
I didn't, didn't get any traps.
[00:21:11]
I did get the, I read up on a little hot tip that you should use the thermal goggles
[00:21:17]
and that's what I did.
[00:21:18]
So it was pretty easy actually.
[00:21:22]
Nice.
[00:21:23]
Sam, did you have such an easy time?
[00:21:26]
I didn't have trouble for most of it.
[00:21:28]
I got caught in one trip.
[00:21:30]
I got caught in one trip.
[00:21:32]
I missed it somehow, but I ran over it and I got caught in the snare trap where it pulls
[00:21:37]
you up by your ankles.
[00:21:39]
Oh yeah.
[00:21:40]
And all you have to do is press triangle to cut yourself down.
[00:21:43]
But when he got like pulled up, it's scared.
[00:21:47]
And I almost threw my controller because I wasn't expecting it.
[00:21:50]
I thought I was being so, so careful and I was not.
[00:21:53]
Well, the snares kind of look like, to me they look like snakes when you have the,
[00:21:59]
thermal goggles on.
[00:22:00]
Yeah, they do.
[00:22:01]
And as, as you know, I'm a big proponent of the thermal goggles.
[00:22:07]
Thermal goblins.
[00:22:08]
The thermal goggles.
[00:22:09]
Thermal goblins.
[00:22:10]
The thermal turkeys.
[00:22:11]
The uma thermons.
[00:22:12]
Thermal turkeys.
[00:22:13]
The uma thermal goggles.
[00:22:14]
Uma thermons.
[00:22:15]
Yep.
[00:22:16]
Can we call it, can we call it?
[00:22:17]
So I was, I had my.
[00:22:18]
Thermals.
[00:22:19]
We got those UTGs.
[00:22:20]
We got those UTGs.
[00:22:21]
Oh yeah.
[00:22:22]
I got those.
[00:22:23]
I got those.
[00:22:24]
I got those.
[00:22:25]
I had my thermals.
[00:22:27]
We got those UTGs.
[00:22:29]
It sounds like a nasty thing.
[00:22:32]
I got caught in the trap.
[00:22:34]
Oh gross.
[00:22:35]
Um, when you, when, when you cut yourself down, snake does like this weird like, like fancy
[00:22:41]
flip and he lands like on his feet and he does like a superhero pose and then stands
[00:22:45]
up.
[00:22:46]
It's pretty, it's pretty bonkers.
[00:22:47]
Dude, his fucking, his upper body strength to like lift himself up to cut that rope
[00:22:52]
is bananas.
[00:22:53]
Like.
[00:22:54]
He's a soldier.
[00:22:55]
I mean, it's not that.
[00:22:57]
Thanks dude.
[00:22:58]
Jesus Alessio fucking.
[00:22:59]
Lift, read a book.
[00:23:00]
I'm sorry.
[00:23:01]
I'm coming.
[00:23:02]
Whoa.
[00:23:03]
Whoa.
[00:23:04]
It's so mean.
[00:23:05]
Come in here.
[00:23:06]
I come on your.
[00:23:07]
Put a little shade on it right now.
[00:23:09]
Come on your podcast and I act like a cut.
[00:23:11]
I'm sorry.
[00:23:12]
Oh, was that too bad?
[00:23:13]
I'm sorry.
[00:23:14]
I got a mess right now.
[00:23:16]
Should I say the end word?
[00:23:18]
It's only a barely nicks coming on our podcast.
[00:23:21]
I'm sorry.
[00:23:22]
My mind is just there because I'm still very audibly hearing the hotel room next door
[00:23:32]
filled with sex right now.
[00:23:34]
So it's just like make sex sounds.
[00:23:37]
No, it's like you just got really loud.
[00:23:40]
So.
[00:23:41]
Just play a porno like as loud as you can by the wall.
[00:23:45]
What if that's what he's doing?
[00:23:47]
Oh.
[00:23:49]
Like battling the headboard and like playing blasting point.
[00:23:53]
He's like it sounds like there's a podcast next door.
[00:23:56]
Oh no.
[00:23:57]
I'm imagining this now.
[00:23:59]
Yes.
[00:24:00]
I don't know.
[00:24:01]
So I'm going to keep my focus laser sharp and I'm going to ignore the moaning coming
[00:24:05]
from the room next door.
[00:24:06]
Yeah, so we move on to the granny new gorky lab perimeter, which we are greeted by more
[00:24:14]
dogs and electric fences as from before.
[00:24:17]
For me, my fucking gloves came off on this zone with the Vita because I just got sick
[00:24:23]
and fucking tired of having to deal with everything.
[00:24:26]
So I just pulled out that 1911 and started popping headshots on dogs, dude.
[00:24:29]
Like I don't even give a shit like lethal or non lethal.
[00:24:34]
Those dogs died.
[00:24:35]
How many there's only one.
[00:24:36]
Isn't there?
[00:24:37]
There's not.
[00:24:38]
Yeah, there's two.
[00:24:39]
There's one on each sort of corner area.
[00:24:42]
So I killed one and then I think I avoided the other one, but I just didn't want to chance
[00:24:46]
it.
[00:24:47]
And so I noticed right after I killed the one, I couldn't find the fucking entrance.
[00:24:54]
I forgot you had to crawl to get in.
[00:24:57]
And so I called people on the codec to figure out which way to get in again.
[00:25:01]
And paramedic and snake have a really long conversation about great Danes.
[00:25:06]
And I thought it was really funny because she's talking about this dog and how awesome
[00:25:11]
the great Danes are and how like thoroughbred and perfect for this kind of stuff.
[00:25:16]
And then they side table into this weird conversation where she's like snake.
[00:25:20]
I know that all you're fucking thinking about is whether or not they taste good.
[00:25:23]
And snake is like snakes just like and she's like no, I know what you're thinking.
[00:25:28]
And he's like, and it's just like this weird like snake as cookie monster.
[00:25:34]
Where it's like you sound when you made those noises, you sounded like you doing an impression
[00:25:40]
of Isaac doing an impression of what is that supposed to mean?
[00:25:45]
That's how you sound when you impressed me.
[00:25:47]
It's just I don't know, man.
[00:25:49]
It's super funny, though, because it's like the whole implication was like, shut up,
[00:25:52]
snake, you just want to eat that dog.
[00:25:54]
And by the end of it, he was just like, you're right.
[00:25:57]
And it's just like, what the fuck?
[00:25:59]
Like does he just want to eat all living things?
[00:26:02]
Like what is that?
[00:26:04]
That's his goal.
[00:26:05]
That's his ultimate goal.
[00:26:06]
Yeah, it was really weird.
[00:26:07]
And then also for me, this was the commencement of Operation Kill All Snakes.
[00:26:10]
And so any snakes that I see, I will go out of my way to just fucking murder them.
[00:26:15]
I was like that.
[00:26:16]
But like with food and ammo caches, my whole playthrough this time around,
[00:26:20]
I had a van fucking data.
[00:26:22]
I would seek them out and blow them right the fuck up,
[00:26:26]
made sure I had as much TNT on me as possible.
[00:26:29]
I saw some food storage route and then but a boom.
[00:26:32]
And then I'd leave to come back just to hear the soldiers whine
[00:26:36]
because like you're gone for like five minutes and they're like, I'm so hungry.
[00:26:41]
It's a hate them.
[00:26:44]
Oh, just tummies rumbling as far as the eye can see.
[00:26:47]
Yeah, I felt so bad on this part because I don't like I don't like the idea
[00:26:52]
of killing dogs in video games.
[00:26:54]
And if the game makes me, it makes me really sad.
[00:26:57]
And I was I was hunting some snakes in the grass and I killed it with the
[00:27:03]
I killed it so I could I could.
[00:27:07]
I could have some food in my cages were full.
[00:27:09]
And then I went up and I forgot to change my gun back to the mark 22.
[00:27:12]
So I shot the dog. Oh, no.
[00:27:14]
It made like this.
[00:27:15]
It made this really sad sound.
[00:27:16]
And then I hear the I hear that sound and then he just disappears into thin air.
[00:27:22]
And I'm like, no, do you pick it up?
[00:27:25]
Oh, no.
[00:27:27]
Well, I don't think I don't think I don't think it turns into food.
[00:27:31]
No, I don't know. Let's see.
[00:27:32]
It doesn't know it is not.
[00:27:34]
So snake does not does not get to fulfill his fantasy of eating this dog.
[00:27:38]
Man, probably for a reason.
[00:27:41]
Yeah, it's kind of fucked up.
[00:27:42]
The other thing that I did whenever I was going through the codec,
[00:27:46]
this is whenever I remembered that there were actually secret codec
[00:27:49]
frequencies that you can call that will play music.
[00:27:52]
And some of them will play like fun fucking like beach punk, like
[00:27:56]
doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo doodoo.
[00:27:58]
Like music and stuff like that.
[00:28:00]
And what the music will actually do is
[00:28:03]
like some of it's like soothing music that will like heal your stamina gauge.
[00:28:07]
And then some of it is like health music.
[00:28:10]
And I believe that you can play music to like kill any alert phases as well.
[00:28:15]
Yep. Well, I thought that was that was like a frequency that you had to call.
[00:28:18]
And you lose it once because I actually have a story about that for inside the lab.
[00:28:23]
OK, cool. Yeah.
[00:28:23]
So I think there's an alert frequency that's separate from the music,
[00:28:26]
but I know that the music has like bonus features.
[00:28:29]
You should tell me what that frequency is because I need that.
[00:28:33]
I think I posted it in the show notes. So.
[00:28:35]
Oh, good.
[00:28:36]
There's a there's a link that I'm going to be posting in the show notes
[00:28:39]
where you can see all the different frequencies.
[00:28:41]
Yeah, but yeah.
[00:28:43]
So but yeah.
[00:28:45]
So then we crawl like the snake that we are
[00:28:48]
into the actual kind of inner courtyard of this lab.
[00:28:55]
What was you guys's?
[00:28:56]
What was you guys's experience when did you in the Grinini Gorky Lab
[00:29:00]
exterior parentheses inside walls, which is the fucking worst name for a zone
[00:29:06]
in metal gear history?
[00:29:08]
Where did you where did you crawl into it?
[00:29:11]
There's no one on either side of the left of the building, right?
[00:29:13]
Yeah, outer left next to the bushes and stuff.
[00:29:16]
There's like a little slit that almost looks like a vent opening
[00:29:19]
and you can just crawl right in.
[00:29:21]
I couldn't get the door to work.
[00:29:23]
Yeah, because the door only opens from the inside or is locked.
[00:29:27]
So if you lean on the door and knock on it, the guy says just a minute.
[00:29:31]
Oh, really? He he opens the door and you can you can you can take him out.
[00:29:34]
Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that.
[00:29:37]
But yeah.
[00:29:39]
Well, so that's how I got Sam keeps talking about how he learned
[00:29:42]
something new on every podcast, but I believe it was Sam who taught us.
[00:29:47]
The teacher becomes the teacher.
[00:29:52]
Was Beauty killed?
[00:29:54]
Oh, Christ.
[00:29:56]
I love that line just because of how bad it is.
[00:29:59]
But but yeah, so what was you?
[00:30:01]
It's even worse.
[00:30:02]
It's even worse hearing Jack Black.
[00:30:04]
The remake was.
[00:30:08]
So but yeah, what was it like for you guys?
[00:30:10]
I mean, did you guys make a beeline for the lab or did you fuck around in this zone?
[00:30:12]
I believe that both speaking on behalf of me and Nick,
[00:30:15]
I know that we both went to the little shed and blew that motherfucker up.
[00:30:19]
Hell, yeah. I hashtag sand and everyone in that courtyard.
[00:30:25]
The ammo shed was shed.
[00:30:28]
Whatever the shed is on the interior camera, I think it was an ammo shed.
[00:30:31]
Yeah, there was.
[00:30:32]
There were only like three guards here or something like that.
[00:30:35]
I I got to a point where I think I'm going to use the tranquilizer from now on.
[00:30:41]
I was I was blowing everybody up, but now I'm I'm feeling a little gracious.
[00:30:46]
So.
[00:30:48]
It why is that?
[00:30:51]
Are there your they fit you?
[00:30:53]
The it bends to your will at this particular time.
[00:30:55]
Are you here?
[00:30:57]
Oh, yes, I feel I feel fine.
[00:31:00]
I would let you live.
[00:31:02]
No, all right.
[00:31:03]
So when I use the trink, for some reason, I can get them in one or two shots.
[00:31:09]
But whenever I use the M 19, it always takes me like
[00:31:13]
at least three shots to kill them.
[00:31:16]
You got to pop them in the head.
[00:31:18]
Just one shot. Yeah, I tried.
[00:31:20]
Well, it's like the the March 22 was like sniper pistol anyway.
[00:31:24]
So, yeah, I think knock those fuckers off of crime across.
[00:31:28]
Are they not dying when you hit them in the head?
[00:31:30]
Because if you pop them in the forehead, they go like, well, maybe I'm really go down.
[00:31:34]
Yeah, maybe I'm not hitting them accurately.
[00:31:37]
I think I'm hitting them in the throat, though.
[00:31:38]
So that might be the issue at hand.
[00:31:42]
Pro tip, you can actually shoot them in the dick as well.
[00:31:44]
And they died one or shoot.
[00:31:46]
Oh, my God. They cross their legs and just go straight down.
[00:31:49]
Well, you guys have convinced me.
[00:31:51]
I'm going to.
[00:31:52]
You guys have convinced me I'm going to become a murderer now.
[00:31:55]
Back to my murder state.
[00:31:57]
I was feeling gracious in real life.
[00:31:59]
Satiated his blood. Yeah.
[00:32:01]
If you drank them, if you drank them in the crotch, did they go down instantly?
[00:32:05]
I don't know. I don't remember.
[00:32:07]
No, this guy's sleepy.
[00:32:08]
Peepies. He is.
[00:32:09]
He's sleepy. Peepies.
[00:32:11]
Their penis is just permaflasted.
[00:32:15]
Anyway, back to the back to the story.
[00:32:17]
Sorry about that.
[00:32:18]
I actually I actually did just kind of run around this area
[00:32:22]
because I was able to drink the three guys
[00:32:26]
pretty quickly.
[00:32:29]
And then just explore, explore a little bit.
[00:32:35]
Do you find the coropee in the window?
[00:32:37]
I know I didn't.
[00:32:38]
I I gave up on that a long time ago.
[00:32:40]
I was like, I'm not going to find all these guys.
[00:32:43]
I just need to say something.
[00:32:47]
And I said this to you before, but I have said they're called
[00:32:52]
what they're called.
[00:32:52]
Kiriton, I know.
[00:32:53]
But they're still called the coropes.
[00:32:56]
You fucking scrub Lord.
[00:32:57]
Coropees, little scub Lord,
[00:32:59]
column coropes and I hear tons.
[00:33:01]
Guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, they're Yoshi's.
[00:33:04]
What are you talking about?
[00:33:05]
Oh, fuck.
[00:33:07]
So do they actually change all of them to Yoshi's in the three
[00:33:10]
D.S. Yeah.
[00:33:10]
And the three D.S. version instead of little Yoshi or instead
[00:33:12]
of a little whatever the hell they're called, they're Yoshi's.
[00:33:16]
And if you shoot them, they go, they make little Yoshi noises.
[00:33:18]
And the girls are like, it's it's like the the preachy
[00:33:23]
kind of noise.
[00:33:24]
I can't do Yoshi.
[00:33:26]
Oh, from like from Mario World.
[00:33:27]
Yeah, they got like pretty good.
[00:33:30]
That was actually really good.
[00:33:32]
Thanks.
[00:33:34]
I had practice.
[00:33:35]
What are the other differences?
[00:33:36]
What are the other differences besides obviously control stuff?
[00:33:38]
I mean, are there any other sort of cosmetic or other differences
[00:33:42]
like zone changes or like is the content the same in the game?
[00:33:45]
The content.
[00:33:46]
Well, there's a lot of like a lot of like little Nintendo Easter eggs.
[00:33:51]
I'm struggling to think of some good ones off the top of my head.
[00:33:55]
I think there's like maybe a poster to this been changed to be like
[00:33:59]
in Nintendo.
[00:34:00]
No, I'm thinking of Twin Snakes.
[00:34:03]
God, yeah, I can't think of off the top of my head, aside from the Yoshi thing.
[00:34:08]
There's a lot of neat Easter eggs with the 3D, like how the 3D works.
[00:34:12]
If you go into like first person aiming, the 3D shots off.
[00:34:15]
Because if you think about it, you're only you're, you know, closing one eye to aim.
[00:34:20]
So, you know, you're not seeing in 3D.
[00:34:22]
That's neat.
[00:34:23]
And attention to detail.
[00:34:26]
And also the bridge in the beginning, like in the very beginning,
[00:34:32]
it's got it's like kind of worse on the 3DS version
[00:34:35]
because it uses motion controls like you got to like tilt the 3DS to stay upright.
[00:34:41]
Yeah, so it's a bit shit, but, you know, it's just a bridge.
[00:34:45]
And it's like it's weird because like they only ever use the tilt to stay,
[00:34:49]
you know, stay up on the bridge.
[00:34:52]
And then if you ever walk out on a tree branch, but then that mechanic is used in nowhere else.
[00:34:59]
Like tilting it all is not used any any other time.
[00:35:02]
Actually, once you get
[00:35:05]
once you get the revolver later, if you if you like shake the 3DS,
[00:35:09]
Snake will start doing gun tricks. Oh, yeah.
[00:35:13]
Is there a way to make them do that?
[00:35:15]
We need to we need to get on that.
[00:35:16]
You can do it with the consoles.
[00:35:18]
Yeah, I think you use one of the thumb sticks to do it in the traditional
[00:35:22]
yes, you but I don't know what to do.
[00:35:24]
Well, you enable the other thumb stick.
[00:35:26]
Well, Rip Sam's play through.
[00:35:28]
Well, but you have to beat the game to get the revolver.
[00:35:31]
Do you know you get it after the escape later on? Spoiler alert.
[00:35:38]
I've lied. What escape?
[00:35:42]
There is an escape. I'm so sorry.
[00:35:45]
It's the escape from New York.
[00:35:48]
Hey.
[00:35:50]
Also, also escape from New Moscow.
[00:35:52]
Another another Nintendo or another 3DS Easter egg.
[00:35:56]
I made a point to write it down in my notes is that
[00:36:01]
you know how there's that in the cut scene when you first meet Eva,
[00:36:03]
you can go into first person and stare at it.
[00:36:06]
Usually the rest of the rest of the 3D in the game is like falling in 3D.
[00:36:11]
So like it's depth.
[00:36:12]
But as soon as you look at her tits,
[00:36:14]
like the tits actually pop out of the screen at you.
[00:36:17]
It's kind of funny.
[00:36:18]
That's pretty good. Oh, yeah.
[00:36:20]
I fucking love.
[00:36:21]
I just love the out of context.
[00:36:23]
The that like, so, you know, in the scene where you can look at it.
[00:36:29]
It's just like you can't explain that to somebody even in context.
[00:36:33]
You mean every Ava scene or Eva scene?
[00:36:35]
Yeah. So it's yeah.
[00:36:37]
So we were playing Metal Gear Solid 3
[00:36:38]
and then this female character named Eva
[00:36:41]
and you could press a button and stare at it.
[00:36:43]
That's not an OK sentence.
[00:36:46]
Also, her boobs pop out of the screen.
[00:36:48]
Yeah, that too.
[00:36:50]
Like what that?
[00:36:52]
Yeah. Hmm.
[00:36:54]
It's one of them around.
[00:36:55]
Oh, my God.
[00:36:56]
I like to go back and I mean, this is crazy.
[00:36:59]
All right.
[00:37:00]
So back back to the task at hand.
[00:37:02]
So you can get the XM 16 E1 in the shed, as well as some AK ammo.
[00:37:08]
There's also Claymore and some smoke G's behind the lab.
[00:37:11]
And there's some ammo underneath one of the T's trucks.
[00:37:14]
And I call them T's trucks because you can't fucking get in the truck.
[00:37:17]
It's already filled with boxes, which I thought was funny.
[00:37:21]
But yeah, after that, we just have to get on in the lab.
[00:37:26]
And oh, my God.
[00:37:27]
This is the debut of Science Snake.
[00:37:31]
Yeah, yeah.
[00:37:32]
The debut of Science Riding for me.
[00:37:35]
Yeah, I didn't take that stupid mask off, dude.
[00:37:38]
Well, I thought the mask like realizing that that that becomes
[00:37:43]
something that occurs later in the in the game.
[00:37:47]
I'm trying to tiptoe around what actually happens with with that face.
[00:37:51]
I thought that maybe putting it on would make the scientists less suspicious.
[00:37:54]
No, fuck, it's still as dicky as before.
[00:37:58]
Well, you're just as much.
[00:37:59]
You're just as much of a stranger if you're riding than you are if you're
[00:38:02]
Snake, because they're still like, who the fuck is this?
[00:38:05]
Except for you don't have a bandana on when you had the riding mask.
[00:38:08]
That was like when I first played through the game, that was like my rationale,
[00:38:11]
because like they figure like you walk around as fucking naked Snake with
[00:38:15]
your with just like a lab coat on.
[00:38:17]
They'd be like, what's this grizzled ass scientist doing here?
[00:38:20]
I always figured, yeah, you need something to disguise your head, too.
[00:38:23]
And that's how I always did it until this most recent play through
[00:38:26]
when I learned that you don't even need the riding mask.
[00:38:29]
Yeah. And Isaac, close the ears on your brain for a second, because I'm going to say.
[00:38:33]
No, I'm going to say.
[00:38:35]
Just close your ears for like 10 seconds.
[00:38:38]
Just just give me 10 seconds.
[00:38:40]
But I figured like, oh, yeah, no, they've seen Rykov.
[00:38:45]
So I can just I can just they'll they'll be able to place him and be like,
[00:38:48]
he seems like he should be here and then it'll be OK.
[00:38:50]
It wasn't OK.
[00:38:53]
I mean, it was but like also not.
[00:38:57]
All right. That's 10 seconds.
[00:38:58]
Isaac, you there?
[00:39:00]
I haven't closed my ears yet, so it's OK.
[00:39:05]
I'll make it. I'll be OK.
[00:39:06]
Good. Well, yeah.
[00:39:08]
So anyway, science, snake outfit is the best because of that goddamn turtleneck.
[00:39:14]
Yeah. Yeah.
[00:39:15]
You can also press triangle to push your glasses up like a nerd.
[00:39:18]
I did that so much.
[00:39:20]
Nick Frieda wanted us to talk about that.
[00:39:23]
Oh, here we go. Can't you?
[00:39:26]
Nick, Nick, Nicky, Free.
[00:39:28]
Nicky Free.
[00:39:30]
Oh, man, that's that's way too close to my name.
[00:39:35]
No, I come up with it.
[00:39:36]
We'll be extra confused.
[00:39:38]
I'm going to come up with a different one by the end of Fruyaka show.
[00:39:42]
Well, just we'll call me Nick Reed, but like R E A D
[00:39:45]
because my podcast is about reading.
[00:39:47]
Oh, no. Then Nick Reed is going to get even more confused.
[00:39:51]
Yeah, dude. God bless it.
[00:39:54]
No.
[00:39:56]
Nick Frieda wanted us to talk about that because
[00:40:00]
I guess you can do that to convince the scientists that you're OK.
[00:40:04]
Oh, Nick Frieda.
[00:40:06]
Yeah. No.
[00:40:09]
No, that's too easy.
[00:40:11]
We need.
[00:40:14]
Well, I don't know if it works, though,
[00:40:16]
because I've tried the triangle, pushed my glasses up and I'm a chill dude
[00:40:19]
and I still had some pretty close calls, close calls.
[00:40:23]
Yes, I'm here.
[00:40:25]
But they didn't.
[00:40:25]
Anyway, they tip you off, though.
[00:40:28]
Well, around the time that it happened,
[00:40:30]
I was already being a little sloppy and it was on my way out.
[00:40:34]
And so we'll get to that part.
[00:40:37]
But let's just say that I left a room with like 10 sleeping people.
[00:40:42]
After that.
[00:40:45]
Like it was like it was like it was like the scene from the departed with the elevator.
[00:40:48]
Oh, no.
[00:40:49]
It involved like a cigarette, a dud.
[00:40:52]
So yeah, I love that thing.
[00:40:55]
I love going on first and first, first person just on poof.
[00:40:58]
And then they just fall over.
[00:41:00]
Do you mean a dig cigarette?
[00:41:02]
It's a dig.
[00:41:05]
Like one thing I had a same go first.
[00:41:09]
No, I was just going to I was going to say that fucking cigarette.
[00:41:11]
I got caught once and it was after the scene we're going to see shortly.
[00:41:17]
And I ran and I just like I was like, no.
[00:41:21]
Just like, I'm not going to be loud, which another quick point I hid under a table.
[00:41:27]
And I just I love this game.
[00:41:29]
My favorite part of this game so far has been crawling under this table
[00:41:32]
that I clearly don't fit underneath all the way because I'm in first person.
[00:41:35]
They can't see me.
[00:41:37]
And I was just like spinning around like kicking dudes with my leg.
[00:41:40]
That's what happened.
[00:41:42]
And they just let it go.
[00:41:44]
Because you become like a legless, limbless, like camera when you go in.
[00:41:49]
You become you you turn into ether and then you just exist in another plane.
[00:41:55]
That'll you become metal gear gas.
[00:41:58]
Yeah, you become gaseous snake.
[00:42:00]
Gaseous.
[00:42:02]
There he is. We found him.
[00:42:03]
But anyway, what were you going to say?
[00:42:06]
Well, I was going to say one thing I find that's like kind of a bummer
[00:42:09]
about the the whole like scientists spotting you is that like so the so the normal
[00:42:15]
like guys that look like they're, you know, honestly, they look like they're dressed
[00:42:18]
as Nazis as they wander around the halls.
[00:42:21]
Yeah, they do like they don't notice you.
[00:42:24]
Hold on. The SS on their jacket stands for super smooth.
[00:42:27]
OK.
[00:42:32]
But they're the super smooth guards.
[00:42:36]
But they're not smooth enough to notice that you're not actually a scientist.
[00:42:39]
Yeah.
[00:42:40]
But like as soon as a as soon as a scientist spots you and then pulls
[00:42:43]
like the the fire alarm or whatever he does,
[00:42:47]
the the guards immediately know it's you.
[00:42:49]
Like I mean, I mean, yeah, pick pick the one guy that looks different out of the group.
[00:42:53]
But like and obviously it's for gameplay reasons, but it would have just been like
[00:42:57]
cooler if maybe the scientists had to go tattle on you.
[00:43:00]
Like they had to go be like, that's the guy.
[00:43:03]
It's true. Yeah.
[00:43:05]
Well, all the scientists are the same person.
[00:43:06]
So exactly.
[00:43:08]
So they just were like, oh, wait, this guy might be the intruder.
[00:43:11]
They just started going down all the other scientists just until they get the right one.
[00:43:17]
It's just so weird because like I took the I took the approach of I'm
[00:43:21]
going to I'm going to lightly move the analog stick to kind of like creep.
[00:43:25]
And like Snake does it like hunched over like on Snake.
[00:43:29]
Thing. Yes.
[00:43:30]
And then and they they don't get suspicious.
[00:43:33]
And then if you run around like a like a fucking idiot, they don't get suspicious either.
[00:43:36]
I'm just like, fuck it, then I'm just going to be I'm just going to do my thing.
[00:43:39]
And they just don't give a fuck.
[00:43:41]
They do get real suspicious if you bump them.
[00:43:44]
Yeah, don't bump them.
[00:43:46]
No, but if you bump them, you just kind of have to stand still and then wait for them
[00:43:50]
to be like, hey, are you bad?
[00:43:53]
And then they go away.
[00:43:56]
I don't like guys who bump me.
[00:43:58]
You're wearing a lab coat.
[00:43:59]
You're fine.
[00:44:01]
Get back to work.
[00:44:02]
Well, you know, I think I was blown away that I didn't get caught
[00:44:05]
because I ate several animals in the middle of the hallway in the middle of
[00:44:10]
like a lot of guards.
[00:44:13]
But anyway, I'm sorry, Isaac, go ahead.
[00:44:15]
It's fine, unless you.
[00:44:19]
Is this episode just going to be called like the sad one?
[00:44:23]
Yes, they're all the sad ones.
[00:44:24]
That was called the beef.
[00:44:27]
The episode where everyone's a mean to each other.
[00:44:30]
Anyway, this episode is called the mad sad metal gear.
[00:44:36]
Noice.
[00:44:37]
Isaac, speak some words.
[00:44:40]
OK, here's one word for you.
[00:44:43]
Paper.
[00:44:45]
Paper.
[00:44:47]
What could it mean?
[00:44:48]
Like colloquialism for money.
[00:44:50]
Anyway, the one little comment I was going to say was
[00:44:54]
one of the guards like smashed the door into my face and I flew.
[00:45:01]
So and he's like, get out of my way.
[00:45:03]
Oh my god.
[00:45:05]
That happened.
[00:45:06]
I was like, well, you did it to me.
[00:45:09]
I almost wanted to punch him, but I controlled my anger.
[00:45:13]
I held my tongue.
[00:45:15]
So that was my little statement.
[00:45:18]
Well, I had a I had a question.
[00:45:20]
Do the do the cigarettes.
[00:45:22]
The fake cigarettes, do they work on guards throughout the rest of the game?
[00:45:26]
Or is it just in that little area?
[00:45:28]
They work.
[00:45:28]
They work.
[00:45:28]
They always work.
[00:45:29]
Yeah.
[00:45:30]
Yeah.
[00:45:31]
But we'll get to that in a second.
[00:45:32]
We'll let people know what cigarettes we're talking about.
[00:45:35]
Yes.
[00:45:36]
So on the first floor, there's a little library and there is a swimsuit model
[00:45:41]
poster, as we have come to expect from Konami.
[00:45:45]
Yep.
[00:45:46]
But I will say on the second floor lobby or library, because there are two sort
[00:45:50]
of separate floors that you can kind of go to without having to enter through a
[00:45:53]
new loading screen.
[00:45:55]
In that library, there is an EGM issue on the table with snake on the cover,
[00:46:01]
which I thought was fun.
[00:46:02]
And then also the two framed artwork pieces on the wall are actually 100%
[00:46:07]
copied from Silent Hill 3.
[00:46:10]
So they're actually Silent Hill artwork.
[00:46:13]
That was a neat callback because Silent Hill 3 and MGS 3 came out roughly
[00:46:17]
in the same year or in the same time.
[00:46:20]
I'm not sure if it was the exact same year.
[00:46:23]
But in the second floor, there is a men's room, which I don't know why there
[00:46:27]
would be a ladies room and there's clearly not one.
[00:46:29]
So only men allowed apparently in this building.
[00:46:33]
This was Soviet Russia.
[00:46:35]
That's true.
[00:46:36]
Women have to pee outside.
[00:46:38]
They did not have women in Soviet Russia.
[00:46:42]
Population tanks.
[00:46:43]
Well, they weren't allowed.
[00:46:44]
Well, they weren't allowed to be important, I guess I should say, back in those
[00:46:49]
times in building, no women in buildings.
[00:46:52]
But which is actually what some of the Russian signs on the outside of the
[00:46:55]
building say if you can read Russian, I'm kidding.
[00:46:58]
No, no girls allowed.
[00:47:00]
Yeah.
[00:47:02]
But this is our tree for it.
[00:47:04]
Yeah.
[00:47:05]
One of them says He-Man Woman Haters Club in Russian, which is pretty weird.
[00:47:09]
Yeah.
[00:47:10]
Especially since it has like a little picture of alfalfa right above it.
[00:47:13]
Mm-hmm.
[00:47:14]
Anyway.
[00:47:15]
In Russian.
[00:47:16]
Yeah.
[00:47:16]
A picture of alfalfa in Russian.
[00:47:19]
Yeah.
[00:47:22]
But like so all of the all of the stall doors will open except for the one on the
[00:47:26]
right.
[00:47:27]
And so you have to punch the stall in.
[00:47:29]
Did you see what I did there?
[00:47:32]
And the old punch trick works.
[00:47:35]
So if you hit it a couple of times, it will fall outwards and you can get what's
[00:47:41]
inside.
[00:47:41]
However, you have to be sure to not get hit because you will get knocked the fuck
[00:47:44]
down.
[00:47:46]
And so inside there is actually the fly camo and the fly camo makes you smell
[00:47:52]
really bad.
[00:47:53]
And so nobody will approach you because you smell like shit.
[00:47:57]
And so no one will stab you because they don't want to get close to you.
[00:48:01]
And likewise to flies.
[00:48:03]
Do they run away if you run at them?
[00:48:05]
Yeah.
[00:48:05]
Oh yeah, they do run away if you run towards them.
[00:48:08]
Oh, that's hilarious.
[00:48:08]
So you're just a real doodoo boy.
[00:48:10]
If you wear it.
[00:48:13]
Real poopy Sammy.
[00:48:14]
Yeah.
[00:48:15]
Also, you can go outside via a door and there's like a little walkway and there's
[00:48:21]
a Choco Chip uniform, which doesn't do anything special.
[00:48:25]
It's just for sort of desert and mountain stuff.
[00:48:27]
But if you talk to Siggant on the codec, he will nickname it Choco Chip or chocolate
[00:48:32]
chip, which I thought was funny.
[00:48:35]
And there's also a book above the courtyard.
[00:48:37]
I put book and giant quotes because it's definitely just a porn magazine.
[00:48:43]
And can you guys answer this question for me because I couldn't really see it on
[00:48:45]
the beat and I'm assuming Nick can't tell on the 3DS.
[00:48:50]
But there's a framed picture in the stairwell that leads down to the basement.
[00:48:53]
And I swear to God, it's a picture of Metal Gear Rex.
[00:48:58]
Can anybody.
[00:49:00]
I honestly wasn't paying attention.
[00:49:01]
Close enough.
[00:49:02]
The first time I saw that was in the scene, but we'll get to that.
[00:49:07]
I didn't see the picture you're talking about.
[00:49:10]
Yeah.
[00:49:11]
OK, we.
[00:49:12]
Yeah, me neither.
[00:49:13]
I mean, it's a fairly like tight shot.
[00:49:15]
So it's actually like a tight shot on the cockpit.
[00:49:17]
So it kind of looks kind of like abstract art a little bit.
[00:49:21]
But I swear to God, that that that's what it looked like to me.
[00:49:25]
Did you just laugh at the word cockpit, Sam?
[00:49:27]
No, no, no, I didn't.
[00:49:29]
I laughed at the combination of the words tight shot on.
[00:49:33]
So tight cockpit.
[00:49:36]
Yeah.
[00:49:37]
So I was hoping that would have to calm me out on it.
[00:49:42]
I had to and you made it better.
[00:49:45]
Good to see you, Sam.
[00:49:48]
Good one.
[00:49:48]
You're a winner.
[00:49:49]
The winner is you.
[00:49:51]
So did.
[00:49:51]
Winrar.
[00:49:51]
Did everybody go down into the Grenini Gorky Lab B1 East,
[00:49:55]
a.k.a. like the little jail block?
[00:49:58]
Or was that the basement area?
[00:50:00]
So there's two basements.
[00:50:01]
There's East and West, which the world was it was divided into
[00:50:05]
and the world was split into.
[00:50:08]
But yes, there's the East and West and they're blocked off by a door
[00:50:13]
that you can't go through.
[00:50:14]
So you have to actually go upstairs to get to the separate basements.
[00:50:17]
But did anybody go into like the jail cell section, which is East basement?
[00:50:22]
I did.
[00:50:23]
I think I did.
[00:50:25]
Did everybody?
[00:50:25]
I don't think so.
[00:50:26]
I didn't think I did.
[00:50:29]
I didn't go down there previously.
[00:50:31]
Okay.
[00:50:32]
So Isaac and I had the pleasure of going down there.
[00:50:34]
So there's not really anything down here.
[00:50:37]
There's just like a little guard room.
[00:50:38]
And I thought it was funny because the guard room actually has some more
[00:50:41]
magazine covers.
[00:50:43]
And so there's a PSM and a game pro.
[00:50:45]
And then I think like an in game magazine, but the PSM and the game pro has,
[00:50:51]
I think MGS 2 and MGS 3 snake on each of the covers.
[00:50:57]
And then there's just a bunch of jail cells.
[00:51:00]
We've got a keroton, Sam, and another model poster in there.
[00:51:06]
And then there's just like some random ammo and shit like that.
[00:51:11]
Is this the section that we'll get to it later, but is this the section where
[00:51:16]
if you fuck up during the end, is this where you end up?
[00:51:20]
Yeah.
[00:51:20]
You end up closer.
[00:51:21]
Yep.
[00:51:22]
Okay.
[00:51:22]
Yep.
[00:51:22]
Yeah.
[00:51:23]
And I think it's here.
[00:51:23]
Okay.
[00:51:24]
So you can end up in this jail and we will tell you guys how that happens once we
[00:51:28]
get to it.
[00:51:29]
But for now, there's not really anything down here.
[00:51:32]
I will say I did get lost.
[00:51:34]
And so I codec to everybody because I couldn't remember how to get to the
[00:51:38]
other basement entrance and zero totally was just like, Hey, you're dressed like a
[00:51:43]
scientist.
[00:51:43]
Why don't you go ask the other scientists?
[00:51:46]
And I'm like, what does that mean?
[00:51:48]
Like he is trying to set you up.
[00:51:50]
I know, dude.
[00:51:51]
I'm like, what do you mean?
[00:51:52]
Like, so for a second I was like, is there a, can I walk up to them and ask them a
[00:51:56]
question?
[00:51:56]
Like, is there a dialogue system in the game that I forgot about?
[00:52:01]
But I did not take his advice.
[00:52:02]
Um, and then push up your cool guy glasses.
[00:52:05]
Oh yeah.
[00:52:05]
Any question you have?
[00:52:07]
And then, uh, I realized, and I didn't realize this before, but when you call
[00:52:11]
paramedics, she just gives you random trivia on the food that you've captured.
[00:52:15]
Um, and I thought it was really funny because I cycled through a couple of them
[00:52:17]
and when we got to the conversation about calorie mate, it was really funny because
[00:52:21]
I thought it was going to be just like a total product placement thing.
[00:52:24]
And it kind of is a little bit like they talk about what it is.
[00:52:27]
Um, but for the most part, it's just paramedic telling you how much of a
[00:52:31]
fucking like Japanese culture geek she is.
[00:52:33]
She's like, oh my God, I love Japan.
[00:52:35]
I can't wait to go to Japan, Japan, Japan.
[00:52:38]
And, uh, you're saying that that paramedic is a weed.
[00:52:42]
Oh, she's a weed.
[00:52:44]
She did that with the instant noodles too.
[00:52:47]
That's true.
[00:52:48]
She's like, we actually talk, didn't we talk about that on the, the, the last
[00:52:52]
mainline episode?
[00:52:53]
I don't recall.
[00:52:54]
It sounds familiar, but we may have with paramedic.
[00:52:56]
I mean, hell Eva even weeps out over the instant noodles.
[00:53:01]
I think everybody weeps out over instant noodles.
[00:53:03]
Let's be real.
[00:53:06]
But yeah, so I don't know.
[00:53:07]
Um, I thought it was funny.
[00:53:08]
And then Sigan just talks about, uh, literally everything we talked about on
[00:53:12]
this podcast, which is Davey Crockets and, uh, the boss's, uh, OG, Cobra name, uh,
[00:53:18]
the joy, um, which I was so, uh, I meant to ask you guys, does it come
[00:53:22]
up ever again or does it just come up in some of this ancillary, trivial
[00:53:28]
conversation stuff?
[00:53:29]
Like, does she say that she's the joy officially?
[00:53:32]
I mean, it comes up in that, uh, that, uh, fake cut scene.
[00:53:37]
Oh, for sure.
[00:53:38]
For sure.
[00:53:38]
Yeah.
[00:53:39]
But like those aren't even in the game.
[00:53:41]
Yeah.
[00:53:42]
So I don't know.
[00:53:43]
I don't think, I don't recall it ever getting mentioned.
[00:53:45]
She didn't bring it up like initially, but I forget if it was ever actually
[00:53:50]
mentioned outside of stuff like that.
[00:53:52]
Okay.
[00:53:52]
So, but yeah.
[00:53:53]
So when she was a part of the Cobra unit, she was not the boss.
[00:53:56]
She was the joy since they all have, uh, emotion names, except for the
[00:54:01]
end, which is not an emotion, but that's okay.
[00:54:06]
Also pain, pain isn't an emotion.
[00:54:09]
That's true.
[00:54:10]
So that's weird.
[00:54:11]
Man, go speak for yourself.
[00:54:14]
Hey, Johnny Cash would beg to differ.
[00:54:16]
Oh, I'm just kidding.
[00:54:18]
Not about him dying just about that song.
[00:54:21]
Come on.
[00:54:22]
This is the end.
[00:54:25]
My bird.
[00:54:26]
Oh God.
[00:54:27]
Oh God.
[00:54:28]
Oh God.
[00:54:28]
Um, so sad.
[00:54:29]
It's so sad.
[00:54:30]
Let's all cry.
[00:54:31]
Yeah.
[00:54:31]
Let's just leave it.
[00:54:32]
Please.
[00:54:33]
That's sad.
[00:54:34]
Metal Gear.
[00:54:34]
For once, dude, for once, don't cue it.
[00:54:39]
You don't need to subject them to that kind of sadness right now.
[00:54:42]
Let's just have a big group.
[00:54:43]
Just cue, like, cue, like, just the audio clip of like someone crying.
[00:54:48]
Just like.
[00:54:52]
The sorrow.
[00:54:53]
The sorrow.
[00:54:54]
He doesn't.
[00:54:54]
Except for he doesn't cry.
[00:54:56]
I mean, he cries single tears of blood.
[00:54:58]
Yeah, it's a little weird.
[00:55:00]
He cries tears of blood running down his gothic face.
[00:55:03]
Oh, yeah.
[00:55:04]
He's with that Robert Smith blood.
[00:55:06]
It's gonna kind of make that gothic Metal Gear character.
[00:55:10]
He'd be right at home in what I'm reading.
[00:55:13]
Anyway, oh God.
[00:55:16]
But yeah, so I was getting out of here because I realized shit.
[00:55:19]
I'm not supposed to be here at all.
[00:55:21]
And so I was backtracking.
[00:55:22]
And as I was backtracking in that main hallway, there are like, you can get
[00:55:26]
caught between two guards.
[00:55:27]
So I had a guard behind me and a guard in front of me, both like looking at me.
[00:55:30]
And I was like, fuck, this is where it happens.
[00:55:33]
Like, this is where I'm going to get spotted.
[00:55:35]
And right at that moment, a fucking spider bit snake.
[00:55:40]
So I freaked out because I was just like in this awkward situation.
[00:55:44]
I was like, OK, I've got to get through this.
[00:55:46]
And then all of a sudden snake like flinches.
[00:55:48]
And then there was like, like the poison sound or whatever.
[00:55:52]
And I was like, oh my God, like I just jumped.
[00:55:54]
I was like, what the fuck?
[00:55:56]
And then I realized I was like, man, it was a snake or not a spider.
[00:55:59]
And so I just like booked it out of there and then immediately like cured
[00:56:02]
myself in the hallway.
[00:56:05]
But yeah, so I don't know.
[00:56:06]
But in the end, I was just an idiot and completely forgot that you have to go
[00:56:09]
through the interior kind of little courtyard to get to the door for the B B1 West.
[00:56:17]
So that is where we are going now, which is the Grenini Gorky Lab B1 West.
[00:56:23]
This this fucking area kills me, man, because I I I did a thing.
[00:56:29]
So you go through and there's a locker in here where you can find these knockout
[00:56:35]
cigarettes and essentially you wear them and you press the action button and you blow
[00:56:41]
a puff of a puff of poison.
[00:56:44]
Sleepy smoke.
[00:56:46]
Sleepy smoke out of your mouth and it just instantly knocks dudes out.
[00:56:49]
So you can use it on guards.
[00:56:51]
You can use it on scientists.
[00:56:53]
You can use it on everybody family, friends.
[00:56:56]
Yep.
[00:56:57]
It's a hit at parties.
[00:56:59]
Bill Cosby invented it actually.
[00:57:01]
Oh, geez.
[00:57:02]
Why?
[00:57:03]
Fuck you.
[00:57:05]
I went into this room and there's a room.
[00:57:07]
It's like a computer like office.
[00:57:10]
Randomly like a dinner table in the middle.
[00:57:12]
No, no, no, this is a different one.
[00:57:14]
It's a little bit further.
[00:57:14]
I just I just really need to talk about the one with all of the computers.
[00:57:19]
Yeah.
[00:57:19]
OK, yeah, there's a shit.
[00:57:21]
And there are two.
[00:57:22]
Yeah, there's two scientists in there and I didn't know what to do.
[00:57:24]
So one of them was sitting down and the other one was just like pacing nervously.
[00:57:29]
And as he sits down, I'm like, fuck, they're going to see me.
[00:57:32]
So I knock out the one and the other guy stands up and means like, who are you?
[00:57:36]
And then sets off an alert and I knock him out just in time.
[00:57:39]
And the alert goes away.
[00:57:40]
I'm like, God, fucking damn it.
[00:57:42]
Yeah, fucking this.
[00:57:44]
This is a dirty ass.
[00:57:45]
Well, this room was the bane of my existence because I mean, I'm going to go
[00:57:48]
ahead and jump ahead a little bit.
[00:57:48]
I was coming out of the cut scene area, which is further in.
[00:57:53]
And as I was backing out, because I literally just like as soon as I got
[00:57:56]
the cigarette smoke stuff, I was like, oh, I completely forgot this was in the game.
[00:58:00]
So not only do you get the cigarette spray, but you also get a knockout
[00:58:03]
handkerchief, which is just like a handkerchief soak.
[00:58:05]
Yeah.
[00:58:06]
And what does it call chloroform?
[00:58:09]
Chloroform.
[00:58:10]
And I was like, huh.
[00:58:11]
And so I just got the cigarette.
[00:58:13]
And I was like, I honestly never really used the cigarette spray all that much.
[00:58:17]
So I was like, I'm just going to go slap happy with this shit.
[00:58:19]
Because I've got like 26 of them.
[00:58:21]
Literally.
[00:58:22]
So as soon as I got it, I just like put the first guard to sleep, put the second
[00:58:26]
guard to sleep and literally put everybody to sleep headed to the cut scene area.
[00:58:30]
And then as I came back out of the cut scene area, I was like, oh, I'm sure
[00:58:33]
everybody's still asleep.
[00:58:34]
Well, they sure as fuck were not.
[00:58:36]
And so I got spotted in that room that Sam got spotted in, but I put everybody
[00:58:41]
to sleep, but it wasn't fast enough.
[00:58:44]
And so a bunch of guards poured in.
[00:58:46]
And I just mean like the ballistics shield guards, everybody.
[00:58:50]
And what I did was this year, like 10 of sleep, dudes.
[00:58:53]
Yeah.
[00:58:54]
So like, oh shit.
[00:58:55]
So what I did was I stood in one of the cubicles.
[00:58:57]
Like I'm not even kidding.
[00:58:58]
I stood in one of the cubicles.
[00:59:00]
You can see me like everyone can see me.
[00:59:03]
But they didn't for some reason, because I think it counted it as a wall, even
[00:59:07]
though the top part of the wall is see through.
[00:59:10]
So I just stood there with like a leg in the hallway, like the worst.
[00:59:15]
Like if this is hide and seek, I would have lost immediately.
[00:59:20]
This is like what the parent, like how the parent hides so that the kid feels
[00:59:24]
good during hide and seek.
[00:59:27]
And so I'm just like full leg exposed, like a half behind a wall, just like, I
[00:59:31]
hope they don't see me.
[00:59:33]
And there's like two dudes asleep at my feet and every guard just like one by
[00:59:37]
one goes, huh, are you okay?
[00:59:40]
And they walk over and I'm just like, go to sleep, bitch.
[00:59:42]
And then the next one comes up and is like, are you okay?
[00:59:45]
And I'm like, dude, seriously, go to bed.
[00:59:46]
And then the next one, hey, what is, why is everybody sleeping?
[00:59:50]
And it falls asleep as well.
[00:59:52]
And it's literally just a fucking conga line of people blacking out on top of each other.
[00:59:58]
And then by the time I got out of there, the alert went away.
[01:00:00]
And then when snake goes over a body, you know how you like tip toes?
[01:00:04]
I just straight up like tip toad for like a minute and a half.
[01:00:07]
And I was like, although I sleep.
[01:00:11]
It was like, yeah, I got, I got alerted in the exact same time in the exact same
[01:00:15]
place that was coming out of the cut scene.
[01:00:17]
And I got caught in that room.
[01:00:20]
And I just booked it.
[01:00:21]
And I was just like, I was like, oh, no, oh, no.
[01:00:23]
And I went and just like every five seconds, like I see a guy and I managed to
[01:00:28]
get upstairs and I do it a couple more times.
[01:00:31]
And then that's where I that's where my disembodied table story came.
[01:00:36]
You just started sweep, kicking the leg.
[01:00:39]
Yeah, dude.
[01:00:40]
I have a well, so, you know, about with like my vendetta against food rooms and stuff.
[01:00:47]
I think in the building there was a there was a mess hall or something like that.
[01:00:50]
Like a food storage.
[01:00:51]
Yeah.
[01:00:52]
And I blew it the fuck up.
[01:00:54]
And so like earlier, earlier on, I don't remember where, but I had I had
[01:00:59]
CQC to guard and then interrogated them.
[01:01:01]
And they gave me the codec to shut down an alert.
[01:01:06]
And so that's basically where I used it.
[01:01:08]
I blew up the thing and everyone was like, what the fuck was that?
[01:01:12]
And then I just like called it in and it was like, actually, that explosion was some kittens.
[01:01:17]
And then everyone just kind of fucked off into their own thing.
[01:01:23]
But like when you call when you call that frequency, they said, like, all right, moving
[01:01:28]
to a new frequency, because like, you know, they don't want you to be able to shut down
[01:01:32]
an alert every time.
[01:01:33]
So it's a it's like a one time thing that you can call this frequency once and it will
[01:01:37]
immediately shut down the alert.
[01:01:39]
But yeah, that was that.
[01:01:42]
So by the time I was leaving the cutscene area, I'm pretty sure I got spotted.
[01:01:46]
So all I had to do was one, two, three combo punch everyone and they'd all just pass the
[01:01:50]
fuck out because they were hungry.
[01:01:52]
And so that was just my escape.
[01:01:54]
It was just kind of like like I'd run around the hall.
[01:01:58]
There was a guy standing there shooting me.
[01:01:59]
I just like putt putt punch and then he'd fall asleep and then just move on to the next
[01:02:03]
guy and then just keep going.
[01:02:06]
That's all that's blown up.
[01:02:09]
Isaac, did you have any trouble with the science?
[01:02:10]
Yes, I did, actually.
[01:02:14]
Fucking murder.
[01:02:19]
Look, I like science, as you know.
[01:02:24]
I like to keep.
[01:02:25]
Isaac is a man of.
[01:02:26]
He's a man of scholarly pursuit.
[01:02:28]
I like to keep, you know, the science going at a steady rate.
[01:02:34]
Check on the science.
[01:02:35]
That's what I said.
[01:02:37]
So I tried the six spray on them, right?
[01:02:39]
So I get the first one and the second guy is like, what?
[01:02:44]
And he he didn't even run to the alarm.
[01:02:46]
There's an alarm, whatever, on the on the wall.
[01:02:50]
He just thought it was cool as shit.
[01:02:51]
He was like, what?
[01:02:52]
Well, no.
[01:02:55]
He does.
[01:02:56]
I don't even know what he does, but the alarm, the alert gets triggered for some somehow.
[01:03:01]
And so I quickly knock him out and then I run to the next room that triggers the cutscene.
[01:03:10]
But it was like, well, you got to wait till your alerts over before you can go into this room.
[01:03:17]
And so I had to like sit there.
[01:03:19]
And the guards came pouring in and the ones with the shields came in.
[01:03:24]
I was like, this is not good.
[01:03:27]
But I think I think I shot him with my M 19.
[01:03:31]
So I was at you put him down.
[01:03:36]
You put him all down.
[01:03:38]
Six feet under less.
[01:03:39]
You imagine what that would be like for granted.
[01:03:43]
Yeah, he's like, you just hear like a bunch of men shouting and people dying.
[01:03:48]
And then you come in and he's like, oh, I'm a guy.
[01:03:50]
No, I like he's probably cranking his music.
[01:03:53]
He couldn't.
[01:03:54]
I jank the door and he's like, go away.
[01:03:59]
And I'm all right.
[01:04:00]
So I'll just shoot these guards and he's like, who is that?
[01:04:04]
Go away.
[01:04:06]
So that was my really bad impersonation of Grumman.
[01:04:11]
Yeah, yeah, I've got a sore throat right now.
[01:04:13]
I don't know if you could tell.
[01:04:14]
So ask me again next time and I'll do a good, a good, good and for you.
[01:04:19]
I'm just going to cue the actual sound clip when I was doing his impersonation.
[01:04:23]
Thank you.
[01:04:24]
Oh, that's amazing.
[01:04:27]
That's so.
[01:04:29]
Wow, I say I cannot believe you are great.
[01:04:33]
Are you rushing for real?
[01:04:35]
Weirdest way I could have said that.
[01:04:39]
That was that was actually how I got caught in that room was I was coming out
[01:04:43]
from the cutscene and I walked through the other door and as soon as I walked
[01:04:48]
through the door, the scientists was standing like, hey, God damn it.
[01:04:52]
And he was so close to the alarm that I just went off.
[01:04:54]
I was like, fuck.
[01:04:55]
So I had to do that.
[01:04:57]
And then everyone died.
[01:04:58]
Yeah.
[01:05:00]
Well, cool.
[01:05:00]
So I guess the moral of the story here is don't spot snake unless you want to kill everyone.
[01:05:06]
But well, cool.
[01:05:08]
So we entered this cutscene with a fellow named Grumman.
[01:05:13]
And he has a very long first and middle name, but I did not write it down.
[01:05:17]
Alexander Leninovich, something.
[01:05:20]
Yeah.
[01:05:20]
Browning or something like that.
[01:05:21]
I think that sounds right.
[01:05:23]
But the music that we hear in the background is actually it's called in the soundtrack
[01:05:25]
Old Metal Gear Solid theme.
[01:05:28]
And it's like an acoustic guitar version of the MGS like.
[01:05:35]
We actually played it on a side op, I think last week of the week before.
[01:05:39]
In my notes, I literally just says music in Gronin's room is elevator version of MGS theme.
[01:05:47]
Also, if you have been listening to the many episodes that we did early in the show,
[01:05:52]
Jehuti from the Zone of the Enders one is in the background as like a model.
[01:05:57]
And later, I believe we do get access to be able to explore Gronin's room.
[01:06:03]
I don't think so, though.
[01:06:04]
But there's a way I think you can look at it in first person.
[01:06:07]
Yeah, during the talks.
[01:06:09]
That's right.
[01:06:10]
And likewise, too, I think on the PS3, it might be clicking in an analog stick.
[01:06:13]
But on the Vita, you can actually just put your finger on the screen during a cutscene
[01:06:17]
and it'll zoom in to stuff.
[01:06:19]
I think the in the 3DS, you just press X and it zooms in a fixed amount.
[01:06:24]
So kind of lame, but whatever.
[01:06:26]
And also on top of Jehuti in the background, there's actually a picture of Gronin.
[01:06:29]
And is that a Huey Emmerich?
[01:06:33]
It looks just like looks like a lot of cons dad.
[01:06:38]
So just to fast forward a little bit.
[01:06:40]
We don't know who Huey is yet.
[01:06:42]
We don't.
[01:06:42]
But I will say this, they're both standing up and it looks as if they are standing up
[01:06:48]
at normal height.
[01:06:49]
And so this might be a picture of Huey before he loses his legs.
[01:06:54]
We don't know who he the Huey.
[01:06:56]
Who we the Huey?
[01:06:57]
Yeah, who we the Huey.
[01:06:58]
But so the one question I will ask about Peace Walkers, Huey is in the wheelchair,
[01:07:04]
like in the whole game from the beginning.
[01:07:06]
Yeah, yeah.
[01:07:07]
OK.
[01:07:08]
So.
[01:07:08]
But yeah, so it looks like Huey is here because Gronin also makes reference within
[01:07:14]
his dialogue that he is actually going to be giving his plans for what he thinks is
[01:07:20]
better than Shagohad to his American contact.
[01:07:25]
And so we have reason to believe, obviously, because his plans are of a metal gear that
[01:07:30]
the American he's referring to is Otacon's dad, otherwise known as Huey Emmerich.
[01:07:37]
Who has actually been mentioned in previous metal gears, but not by name.
[01:07:42]
Yeah.
[01:07:43]
But yeah, so anyway, so Gronin for everybody just to let you know is another scientist,
[01:07:48]
another Russian scientist who is actually working alongside Sokolov.
[01:07:51]
And they both had sort of differing ideas for weapons platforms for the Russians.
[01:07:58]
Tank doesn't need the rocket.
[01:08:00]
Yeah.
[01:08:01]
Tank needs legs.
[01:08:02]
He doesn't talk like that.
[01:08:03]
He's got he speaks perfect English.
[01:08:05]
He's just perfect.
[01:08:07]
I'm projecting.
[01:08:08]
Well, his.
[01:08:09]
His attack does not need rocket.
[01:08:12]
Well, I thought he had like an excellent accent until I realized that the voice actor
[01:08:16]
was actually like slipping in and out of the accent, which cracked me up.
[01:08:21]
Like the voice actor might have been drunk like.
[01:08:24]
Speaking of tanks, granted was tanked.
[01:08:26]
Yeah, dude.
[01:08:27]
He's just like cranked up in this.
[01:08:29]
He's like all turned up in this in this cut scene.
[01:08:33]
And I swear to God, he's just like he goes from like I represent struggle of
[01:08:38]
world to like immediately being like, but seriously, dog.
[01:08:41]
I don't know what the fuck's going on.
[01:08:42]
Like in the theater.
[01:08:45]
It's like the whole time he's supposed to be drunk, but he gets really like, I
[01:08:49]
don't know, very, um, lucid.
[01:08:51]
What's the word I'm looking for?
[01:08:54]
Something.
[01:08:55]
You know what I mean?
[01:08:56]
Sober.
[01:08:56]
Of course you do.
[01:08:58]
Yeah.
[01:08:58]
Like sober and very, you know, with his words.
[01:09:02]
After a while.
[01:09:04]
But like, can we make an aside?
[01:09:06]
It's also in Alessio's notes.
[01:09:09]
It's about Gronin's accent, actually.
[01:09:12]
Why?
[01:09:14]
Yeah.
[01:09:14]
Why does he have an accent?
[01:09:17]
It doesn't make any sense that he would have an accent.
[01:09:20]
Yeah, like literally everybody else has no accent.
[01:09:24]
It's where I decidedly American sensibilities, except it's not consistent
[01:09:29]
with anything else in the game.
[01:09:32]
Like, like I kind of, I kind of like, I would at least think that like, um,
[01:09:37]
Sokolov having a British accent was like, maybe he was British before he moved
[01:09:42]
to Russia.
[01:09:43]
So he has like, sort of a British Russian accent and then like ever.
[01:09:47]
But then like all the guards have regular, like American accents.
[01:09:51]
So I'm assuming that just.
[01:09:53]
Yeah.
[01:09:54]
So I assume that just means they're speaking fluent Russian within the
[01:09:57]
game's universe.
[01:09:58]
But then that leaves us with Gronin, who's got a Russian accent, which I
[01:10:02]
mean, there's, there's one or two things.
[01:10:04]
He's either speaking.
[01:10:05]
He was Russian before he went to Russia.
[01:10:08]
Exactly.
[01:10:09]
I was about to say, maybe he's speaking English to Snake for no reason, or that
[01:10:14]
man is so Russian that even in his own language, he has an accent.
[01:10:23]
I like that one.
[01:10:23]
No, I like, yeah.
[01:10:24]
I'm just like, maybe his English is so poor that.
[01:10:28]
Or I guess his.
[01:10:29]
Yeah.
[01:10:29]
So what you're saying?
[01:10:30]
Sorry, my response.
[01:10:32]
I remembered what.
[01:10:32]
I like the idea that he's speaking English to Snake because he knows Snake is an
[01:10:36]
intruder.
[01:10:37]
So maybe he just knows to speak English to him because he doesn't think the
[01:10:40]
intruder would know Russian.
[01:10:42]
That's a good.
[01:10:42]
That's actually.
[01:10:43]
Okay.
[01:10:43]
Maybe that is a good point.
[01:10:44]
I will buy into that.
[01:10:45]
That is what my head came.
[01:10:46]
And that's why he, and that's why he's kind of slipping in and out of it because
[01:10:49]
he's just, he's just mad at English.
[01:10:52]
He's going into Russian every so often.
[01:10:54]
Like, yeah, that would have been cool.
[01:10:55]
Speaking Russian.
[01:10:56]
I think that would have been cool.
[01:10:57]
I think we're given, I think we're given the voice actor too much credit, but I'm
[01:11:00]
going to go ahead and accept that.
[01:11:04]
The other thing is, so essentially to let you know why he's drinking himself
[01:11:06]
stupid.
[01:11:07]
So him and Sokolov were working together.
[01:11:11]
I'm assuming that they were working together for the previous Russian folks
[01:11:19]
that were dispatched that, that.
[01:11:24]
Vulgan fired the rocket at, you know what I mean?
[01:11:26]
You know how Vulgan's men kind of came in and swept up like another, another unit?
[01:11:33]
I'm assuming that Grannin and Sokolov were working together at this facility for
[01:11:36]
the originally stationed unit.
[01:11:39]
And that once Vulgan took over, they essentially just said, what are you guys
[01:11:43]
working on?
[01:11:44]
Sokolov said his idea.
[01:11:45]
Grannin said his idea.
[01:11:47]
And so Vulgan's like, okay, we're going with the whole Shagohad thing and not your
[01:11:52]
stupid bullshit.
[01:11:53]
So essentially he's drinking himself stupid because he has said that Sokolov's
[01:11:59]
idea is stupid and isn't great, which is where the line of why the fuck would you
[01:12:05]
like, why strap a jet engine to a tank comes from.
[01:12:09]
And what ends up happening, how he reveals what he's working on is that first he pulls
[01:12:13]
out some plans and starts talking about it and it's 100% blueprints for Metal Gear
[01:12:18]
Racks, which really cracks me up.
[01:12:20]
And then secondly, we get to hear Snake say the line that he says in every game,
[01:12:25]
which is Metal Gear.
[01:12:27]
Metal Gear.
[01:12:28]
Can I do it?
[01:12:29]
Yeah, do it.
[01:12:29]
Yeah.
[01:12:30]
Metal Gear.
[01:12:32]
That's good.
[01:12:33]
I like it.
[01:12:33]
That was really good.
[01:12:34]
I'm proud of myself.
[01:12:35]
But immediately after that, one of my favorite moments in the entire game is
[01:12:40]
Grannin going, do you know what makes the stand apart?
[01:12:42]
And Snake's like, what?
[01:12:43]
And Grannin just goes, look at these and motions down.
[01:12:46]
And Snake goes, those are nice shoes.
[01:12:48]
Yeah.
[01:12:49]
And Grannin's like, no, I meant my legs.
[01:12:52]
But like the back and forth was wonderful.
[01:12:55]
Like it's really good.
[01:12:57]
Nice shoes.
[01:12:59]
Yeah.
[01:12:59]
No, legs.
[01:13:02]
Close.
[01:13:02]
My legs are up here, buddy.
[01:13:06]
My legs are up here, buddy.
[01:13:08]
But we also learn about the philosopher's legacy, which I believe is the first time it's
[01:13:13]
really talked about a whole, whole lot.
[01:13:16]
And it's super important because we hear about how Vulcan's dad essentially was the
[01:13:20]
broker for the philosophers.
[01:13:24]
And that's really all we know and that Vulcan inherited his funding from his father who
[01:13:30]
stole the money from the philosophers.
[01:13:32]
And that's it.
[01:13:33]
That's all we get for now.
[01:13:36]
But Grannin comes up with this Kakamemi plan to send us back through the first
[01:13:39]
that we came to go back into the warehouse and travel through the mountains through a
[01:13:43]
door that was previously locked.
[01:13:45]
And so Grannin.
[01:13:47]
He gives us a key hard.
[01:13:49]
Yeah.
[01:13:50]
And he tells us about how we have to go to Grasningrad to get so close.
[01:13:53]
And essentially he's like, I'm going to give you these things because you complimented my shoes.
[01:13:59]
Yeah.
[01:14:00]
And we're just, yeah, sure, do you betray your people in exchange for a shot?
[01:14:03]
Absolutely.
[01:14:04]
Which cracks me up a lot.
[01:14:06]
He goes through this whole fucking thing about how he will not defect like Sokolov.
[01:14:10]
But apparently he's totally OK with tipping off an American mass murderer with how to
[01:14:16]
get to where he needs to go to kill more people.
[01:14:19]
Skulls for the skull throne.
[01:14:22]
America.
[01:14:23]
Yeah.
[01:14:24]
It's pretty great.
[01:14:26]
Like to capitalism.
[01:14:28]
Wait, before are we moving on from Grannin?
[01:14:30]
Not really kind.
[01:14:31]
I mean, I have one more quick question.
[01:14:33]
For right after the cutscene, which you guys see in the notes, but go for it.
[01:14:38]
So his explanation behind the middle gear name makes no fucking sense.
[01:14:44]
Yeah.
[01:14:45]
I'm going to see how well I can get it like within a Russian with like a Grannin accent.
[01:14:50]
So he's like, are you familiar with the theory of the missing link between humans and apes?
[01:14:55]
Well, I'm not sure.
[01:14:57]
So he's like, are you familiar with the theory of the missing link between humans and apes?
[01:15:02]
Well, this magnificent metal gear will be the missing link between infantry and artillery.
[01:15:07]
Or no, no, no, he says, he says this will be the missing link between infantry and artillery.
[01:15:13]
A sort of metal gear, if you will.
[01:15:17]
Like what?
[01:15:18]
Like we're supposed to make the connection.
[01:15:20]
Yeah, dude.
[01:15:21]
Whatever the tele-metal gear means.
[01:15:23]
It's a metal gear that you put in the middle of the machine and the cog starts spinning.
[01:15:27]
What about the wooden gears that we've been using for centuries?
[01:15:31]
What about the whole people bit?
[01:15:33]
Metal lasts longer.
[01:15:35]
Yeah, where's the people part of that?
[01:15:37]
People gear.
[01:15:39]
Where he's like, flashy gear.
[01:15:41]
Gross.
[01:15:43]
What?
[01:15:45]
I'm spinning myself around in the cure menu right now because I need to throw up.
[01:15:52]
I've got a...
[01:15:53]
Right after the...
[01:15:54]
Oh, go ahead, Isaac.
[01:15:55]
I've just got a couple of slides.
[01:15:57]
Did you all notice on the behind his desk, there's like a figure?
[01:16:03]
It looks like it might be a metal gear, but I don't know.
[01:16:07]
I don't know if you guys...
[01:16:08]
Oh, that's Jackie T. from The Under the Enders.
[01:16:11]
I thought it was straight up metal gear ray.
[01:16:14]
Oh, well, no, there's a metal gear ray on his bookshelf, I think.
[01:16:19]
The figure behind him when he sits down is Jehu T. from The Under the Enders.
[01:16:23]
It's like standing up.
[01:16:25]
Yeah, it's the orbital frame, like essentially what you play as for the course of the game.
[01:16:30]
Okay, that's interesting.
[01:16:32]
That's really cool.
[01:16:33]
It looks like a fancy robot.
[01:16:35]
I think there's also a shagohod model in the room somewhere, if I remember correctly.
[01:16:41]
There's probably something to stare at and then get mad when he needs to pump himself up for a long day of being drunk.
[01:16:48]
He built a little tiny model so he could look at it and just pee on it and smack it around.
[01:16:55]
Yeah, dude.
[01:16:57]
Oh, man, that's a stupid piece of crap.
[01:17:00]
It's the missing link between my piss and this ground.
[01:17:06]
Oh, man.
[01:17:08]
And the other thing I was going to say was, as Snake is trying to leave, he's trying to run out the door and Grondon's like,
[01:17:16]
wait, you're trying to get to Grosnegrad?
[01:17:18]
That place is impenetrable.
[01:17:21]
And Snake goes, I'll take my chances.
[01:17:23]
And he's about to exit.
[01:17:25]
And then Grondon says, wait.
[01:17:27]
And then Snake does his crazy hair flip and goes, what?
[01:17:34]
Really?
[01:17:36]
He's like, I don't remember that at all.
[01:17:38]
Crazy little child attitude.
[01:17:42]
I thought that was funny.
[01:17:45]
Don't talk to me anymore, dad.
[01:17:47]
I'm getting out of here.
[01:17:49]
Leave me alone.
[01:17:50]
Anyway.
[01:17:51]
Leave me alone, father.
[01:17:53]
Ziggler, you do a fucking impeccable snake impression.
[01:17:56]
I must say.
[01:17:58]
That's pretty good.
[01:17:59]
Is this spot on?
[01:18:01]
Thanks.
[01:18:05]
Great.
[01:18:06]
Gross.
[01:18:08]
Ew, disgusting.
[01:18:13]
Can I do another, another aside that has nothing to do with any of this stuff?
[01:18:17]
OK.
[01:18:18]
Yes, sure.
[01:18:19]
You said disgusting, it reminded me.
[01:18:21]
So I forgot, and I may not have just been paying attention, but there was such an amount
[01:18:29]
of time between the last time I played and this time that all of the food that I had was rotten.
[01:18:35]
And I was just going through it really quickly.
[01:18:38]
I didn't see the discards, so I thought the only way to get out of your inventory was this.
[01:18:42]
So I ate a bunch of rotten food before I realized what I was doing.
[01:18:46]
I just kept getting sick.
[01:18:48]
It was really bad.
[01:18:50]
This is rotten.
[01:18:52]
This is rotten.
[01:18:54]
This is rotten.
[01:18:56]
Disgusting.
[01:18:58]
That's like having to clean out your fridge after you've left a bunch of nasty shit in the back.
[01:19:02]
And you're like, I don't have a trash bag, so I guess I got to put it in my throat.
[01:19:06]
I have to trash bag.
[01:19:08]
I don't know why.
[01:19:09]
I clicked on it and I saw it eat, but I did not see dispose.
[01:19:13]
So I just ate five pieces of rotten food before I finally realized.
[01:19:17]
Well, it was to the point where after the section, I ate everything that wasn't in a cage or wasn't a noodle
[01:19:23]
or wasn't a calorie mate because I didn't know what I was going to play next and I didn't want to have to deal with it.
[01:19:29]
Well, you can actually use that and throw it at guards and they'll eat it and get sick.
[01:19:34]
Oh, I suppose like maybe if you make them really hungry, they'll like be extra receptive to that.
[01:19:39]
Oh, no, they are.
[01:19:40]
I actually wrote about it later on because that happened to me.
[01:19:43]
Interesting.
[01:19:44]
Okay.
[01:19:45]
But yeah, so before we leave here, so there is a mushroom that grows in the courtyard earlier in Granny McGorkey.
[01:19:52]
And a paramedic will tell you that it is the Spaza mushroom.
[01:19:56]
And she tells you a little bit about what's going to happen, but I didn't remember.
[01:20:01]
And so I was outside of Granin's room and my my yeah, my stamina was really low.
[01:20:06]
So I just like ate this mushroom and snakes like, oh man, great.
[01:20:09]
And like, or he says like, I don't know, he sounds very lethargic.
[01:20:14]
He's like, I'm feeling tired.
[01:20:16]
Yeah, he's like, yeah, I feel asleep.
[01:20:18]
He's like, I feel asleep.
[01:20:20]
I'm tired.
[01:20:22]
But as soon as I ate it, he just fucking fell asleep face down.
[01:20:26]
He's like, yeah.
[01:20:28]
And Grannin from the other room was just like, someone's in here.
[01:20:32]
And then I woke up and like I woke up like a good amount of time later.
[01:20:36]
Like I could not make Snake wake up.
[01:20:38]
I was like, what is happening?
[01:20:39]
Like am I just stuck here for a really long time?
[01:20:42]
Wake up sleep.
[01:20:43]
Yeah.
[01:20:44]
And Snake wakes up and then Grannin literally laughed at the moment Snake woke up.
[01:20:48]
Like he just like started laughing his ass off.
[01:20:50]
And I was like, well, that's how I feel right now.
[01:20:54]
Do you guys have any stories between this and getting back to Grannin and Gorky Forest South?
[01:21:00]
Because that is where we need to go.
[01:21:02]
Well, all of the stories, all of the stories happen after Grannin's cut scene and we told them already.
[01:21:08]
Okay.
[01:21:09]
At least for me.
[01:21:10]
What about you guys?
[01:21:11]
Yeah, because like if you have an alert inside of the building, if you leave the building,
[01:21:16]
the guys outside are just like, they're just doing their thing.
[01:21:20]
So yeah.
[01:21:21]
I imagine that the building is just blaring alarms and they're like, what?
[01:21:26]
Just outside like, whatever.
[01:21:28]
Now, I will say if you take the vent to get out of the building, there's a vent in the courtyard
[01:21:36]
that'll lead you to the outside of the building.
[01:21:39]
And if you take that before you turn left to escape, then it's the Oyama face paint and it makes you look like a geisha.
[01:21:47]
Oh, wow.
[01:21:48]
I did that.
[01:21:49]
Damn it.
[01:21:50]
Well, I think I...
[01:21:53]
Isn't that one like persistent?
[01:21:57]
Like if you get it, you just have it forever or something like that?
[01:21:59]
I think so.
[01:22:00]
Because I think there's like a few camos and face paints that you grab and then you have them forever.
[01:22:05]
Oh, like they carry you over into the next game?
[01:22:07]
Yeah, next save file or something like that.
[01:22:09]
I think the zombie face paint does that.
[01:22:11]
Nice.
[01:22:12]
But yeah, so I was actually on my way out.
[01:22:14]
I was in the little sort of elder perimeter with the dogs in the fence.
[01:22:19]
And this shit sucked, dude, because the dog spotted me after I perfectly stealthed my way back out of there.
[01:22:25]
Because the whole time that the weird sleepy shit happened, like no one shot at me or anything.
[01:22:31]
So, I mean, it wasn't like a no alerts, but I still got out of there like relatively unscathed.
[01:22:37]
And so I was pretty excited.
[01:22:38]
I was like, oh man, I'm gonna make it all the way back to the forest without getting shot at.
[01:22:41]
And dog spotted me and it was rough because like 10 dudes came out of nowhere and it's so hard to aim with the Vita as it is.
[01:22:50]
So I did use my AK for a lot of it, but then I got fed up and literally just started fucking hocking grenades all over the place.
[01:22:57]
And dudes look rough when they get blown up because it's just like the blood texture, but all over their body.
[01:23:04]
And I was like, dude, these guys look gnarly.
[01:23:08]
Like they look third degree burned.
[01:23:11]
And so I just like got out of there.
[01:23:13]
And then of course, as soon as I get out of there, it triggers a cutscene and I was like, I don't know why I didn't just run straight for the cutscene because I'm sure that would have just cleared the alert.
[01:23:22]
Hey, let's see.
[01:23:23]
Yeah.
[01:23:24]
It was rough because there's a dog.
[01:23:28]
It was a dog.
[01:23:29]
It was a roof.
[01:23:31]
Actually, roof roof.
[01:23:33]
No, no, dude, no one your luck.
[01:23:36]
You would have ran for the cutscene and because you were in alert mode, it wouldn't have been like.
[01:23:41]
Someone in here.
[01:23:43]
That was pretty good.
[01:23:47]
I need some privacy.
[01:23:51]
My arms, my arms.
[01:23:53]
They're dislocated.
[01:23:55]
I can't get them back in place.
[01:23:57]
They should do that.
[01:23:58]
Make them stop, Snake.
[01:23:59]
Wait, I need you.
[01:24:00]
But yeah.
[01:24:01]
So this is the fear fight.
[01:24:04]
I'm going to eat.
[01:24:29]
Sam, these fucking grotes.
[01:24:31]
Sam, tell us about this motherfucker.
[01:24:33]
So you go in and then you're just like looking around and this dude is like jumping through trees and shit.
[01:24:39]
And then he like shows up and he shoots Snake with this poison dart.
[01:24:44]
And Snake is like stumbling around and the fear like lands on the ground and you can see him because he can turn invisible because he's the fucking X-Men.
[01:24:54]
And he explains to Snake that the dart causes excruciating pain.
[01:25:02]
It's from a Brazilian, Brazilian something spider.
[01:25:05]
Brazilian wandering spider.
[01:25:08]
It causes excruciating pain and that the fear was going to make him feel the most intense fear he's ever seen.
[01:25:13]
And dude's gross as fuck.
[01:25:15]
He looks greasy as hell.
[01:25:16]
He lands and he has this long ass toad-ass tongue.
[01:25:20]
And then like after he explains all this stuff, he like dislocates his arms or like breaks his arms and crawls backwards up a tree.
[01:25:29]
It's the most disgusting fucking shit.
[01:25:32]
Oh god.
[01:25:34]
Like I made a note in all caps on my notes is like I forgot about the backwards tree climbing that he does and it made me uncomfortable.
[01:25:42]
He does this thing like I think if you get his health down to a certain point during the battle, he does this thing where he'll land on the ground.
[01:25:49]
And I saw most of this battle through my thermal goggles.
[01:25:52]
Yeah.
[01:25:53]
There's a bunch of traps here still.
[01:25:56]
But it's even worse in thermal because he lands on the ground and you can see his hate signature.
[01:26:01]
It's like skitter across the ground like a spider.
[01:26:04]
It's fucking disgusting.
[01:26:06]
But yeah, that's so this is the fear.
[01:26:08]
We're fighting the fear.
[01:26:09]
We're playing the feud.
[01:26:10]
And creamy the fight in the feud.
[01:26:11]
Yeah, creamy the fuck out because also when he talks to you his eyes twitch like his pupils.
[01:26:16]
Yeah, dude.
[01:26:17]
And it's just like I forgot.
[01:26:21]
I forgot all about it.
[01:26:22]
So yeah, just some quick generalities about the boss fight.
[01:26:27]
Essentially he goes full fucking predator mode and just like dives around the trees invisible, which is why you want the therm G's on.
[01:26:35]
And you can find some of the battery mushrooms throughout the forest.
[01:26:41]
This is trap mania like that we talked about before, but the traps are all active again, even if you trigger them before.
[01:26:48]
So be careful.
[01:26:49]
And likewise to like Sam mentioned, the fear will hit you with these fucking bolts from his crossbow.
[01:26:58]
But the thing about it is not only do they hit really hard, like if you get hit, you lose like a third of your health, maybe even half of your health.
[01:27:06]
They hit super hard.
[01:27:07]
You take bleed damage and you're also poisoned and that shit kicks in fast.
[01:27:13]
It does.
[01:27:14]
You have to go into the cure menu to remove it and cure yourself.
[01:27:17]
But there's he has another one that's like a burn thing.
[01:27:20]
Oh, yeah.
[01:27:21]
So like he has more shooting.
[01:27:22]
He just lights you on fire.
[01:27:24]
Oh, yeah.
[01:27:26]
Yeah.
[01:27:27]
And if you get caught in one of those rope traps that we talked about earlier, he will fucking shoot you like while you're hanging.
[01:27:32]
Oh, yes, he will.
[01:27:34]
So it can.
[01:27:36]
I don't know how it was for you and for Isaac and Nick, but for me, my first go around, especially on the Vita where the sensitivity is like really intense for the aiming.
[01:27:46]
I was trying to tranquilize him and was kind of chasing him around, tranking him and trying to like be sneaky about it.
[01:27:53]
And it sucked for me because constantly whenever he came down on the ground and we went and I would try and like melee him or something, I would inevitably like hit an animal or I would shoot a fruit when I was trying to shoot him and he was flying around.
[01:28:05]
And it would create the food.
[01:28:06]
And so he would stop what he was doing, go get the food.
[01:28:08]
He would do it so fast that I couldn't shoot him.
[01:28:11]
And so he heals his stamina really quickly.
[01:28:13]
So I'd get him down to like the last little bar of stamina and he would replenish immediately.
[01:28:19]
So my first go around like I ran out of ammo on the mark 22 and he fucked me up.
[01:28:24]
Like I just died really fast.
[01:28:26]
This is the first time I've died the whole play through.
[01:28:29]
But before I tell you guys about my triumphant to come back, Isaac and Nick, how was it for you?
[01:28:34]
How was it for you guys?
[01:28:36]
Isaac, go first.
[01:28:38]
My experience was...
[01:28:41]
Excuse me.
[01:28:44]
Let me start over with that.
[01:28:46]
Sorry, I know you were just coughing because you were trying to clear your throat, but for some reason like the my experience was a funny combination.
[01:28:58]
Now my experience was actually really, really breezy with this guy.
[01:29:03]
I am...
[01:29:04]
Thermal goggles of course.
[01:29:06]
And I took out my shotgun.
[01:29:10]
Because that's the way I do it, you know.
[01:29:13]
Can I just say...
[01:29:15]
Isaac, I did it the exact same way you did.
[01:29:20]
Oh yeah? Different outcome?
[01:29:22]
Yep, I shot him. I used thermals and shot him in the fucking face with a shotgun while he was in trees.
[01:29:26]
Alright, let's see if our outcomes match up.
[01:29:30]
Okay.
[01:29:31]
So what I did with my tactic was I was just constantly moving because you can kind of see where the arrows are going.
[01:29:39]
Because the crazy sonar, I don't know what you call that.
[01:29:44]
The waves, you can see the waves of the arrow.
[01:29:48]
Yeah, the aura.
[01:29:50]
You can kind of avoid them and then if you move around constantly enough, you can obviously outrun them.
[01:29:58]
And so he would fly around from tree limb to tree limb and then stay still for a little bit.
[01:30:05]
And that's where I pulled out my shotgun and smashed his face open a couple times.
[01:30:10]
And then...
[01:30:14]
Then it was over. I was like, what?
[01:30:17]
Although I did get hit by a lot of his arrows.
[01:30:21]
I'm not perfect, guys.
[01:30:25]
Yeah, Isaac, our experience with that battle was identical.
[01:30:29]
Even down to the, I think I got hit by one of his arrows.
[01:30:32]
Nice, you smashed his face in.
[01:30:35]
Yeah, by his own.
[01:30:37]
Isaac smashed his face in with shotgun.
[01:30:40]
Like a soldier of fortune PC game.
[01:30:43]
He leaps around the battlefield and he says things.
[01:30:46]
And when he says things like, I'm hungry or he says something, it means he's going to give you enough time.
[01:30:52]
I'm hungry.
[01:30:54]
I'm hungry.
[01:30:56]
He's like, I'm hungry.
[01:30:59]
He'll stop and express his hunger.
[01:31:03]
If his stamina goes down or if he doesn't eat quick enough, he'll get hungry.
[01:31:09]
Yeah.
[01:31:11]
He's a hungry boy.
[01:31:13]
He's a hungry boy.
[01:31:15]
He's a little hungry boy as you hear about.
[01:31:17]
Oh, so creepy though.
[01:31:19]
The fear. You need to eat more food.
[01:31:22]
Your parents not feed you.
[01:31:24]
His mother refers to him as the fear.
[01:31:28]
Yeah, come in here. Babusco will feed you. Babusco will feed you.
[01:31:32]
Jesus.
[01:31:34]
Anyway, but yeah, no. He'll say some type of phrase and that's your cue to know that he's stopping.
[01:31:39]
To either shoot you or just like pause.
[01:31:41]
I just imagined there's a snake in my boot.
[01:31:44]
Like in his splat.
[01:31:46]
But yeah, but like when he pauses you have a window to shoot him with something.
[01:31:50]
If you shoot him with a shotgun, it takes a big chunk of his health and then all you have to do after you shoot him once is just like keep running.
[01:31:57]
So it's a it's a it's a the thermogogus plus patience and timing.
[01:32:02]
It's really it's like a really simple battle if you if you use the shotgun.
[01:32:06]
It's a running gun and the thermal goggles.
[01:32:09]
Yep.
[01:32:10]
Because the thermal goggles break this fight.
[01:32:13]
Oh, absolutely.
[01:32:15]
Like because it goes from like I was playing on extreme one time and I didn't I didn't grab the thermal goggles because I either didn't spawn them or like it just I missed them and I'm an idiot.
[01:32:26]
But like I was trying to do it like on extreme without the thermal goggles and that's where I fucking quit because he's ridiculously stupid without him.
[01:32:35]
Because he's hidden and you can't see him.
[01:32:37]
And so you're just walking around and then when you're on extreme you get killed in like two hits.
[01:32:42]
So it's like, all right, cool, whatever.
[01:32:44]
And you don't have enough healing items to like get your stamina back and it was just it was much a mess.
[01:32:51]
Yeah, I couldn't do this battle without a without the thermal goggles.
[01:32:56]
So I'd be interested to at least try it once.
[01:33:00]
But yeah, so I don't know I got so crushed like on my first one that I was like fuck I gotta think of a way to do this.
[01:33:06]
So I kind of like was thinking about it and I was like, well, what can I do differently blah blah so essentially I thought to use some stuff that I never do.
[01:33:17]
And so I as soon as I started playing I popped the fake death pill and he will come down from the trees and walk up to your corpse and be like, well, man, like kind of he's like.
[01:33:29]
And he just like he's like, well shit.
[01:33:32]
And so he puts his like hands on his hips and turns around.
[01:33:35]
And so I popped the revive pill and got up like right in front of him or right behind him and I went to throw a stun grenade down and it just fucking like may as well have been the beehive that I threw off the bridge earlier in the game because it was just like.
[01:33:51]
Like I just like I threw it and it went way too far and it went off and he was like are you fucking serious.
[01:33:57]
He's like you just baked your death for that.
[01:34:00]
And so I was like well shit and so I immediately just swapped to the mark 22 and put on the thermal goggles and I was just like relentless.
[01:34:07]
I was like I don't care if this is a headshot or not.
[01:34:09]
I'm just going to pop him every single time because when you shoot him, no matter where you shoot him, it actually stops his animation to attack you.
[01:34:17]
So I just kept it going.
[01:34:19]
I was like every single time he reached for his crossbow, I was like no you don't.
[01:34:22]
And I just kept shooting him and so I just I took him down really fast the second time.
[01:34:26]
And I ended up seeing the wicked cool cutscene that happens, which is he stares into your soul and spouts some nonsense and then fucking explodes after making some orgasm sounds.
[01:34:41]
He just like just looks off in the trees with these like these like wire lines and then just like makes it weird.
[01:34:50]
Yeah.
[01:34:52]
He dies much like the pain dude.
[01:34:54]
Well he explodes and shoots arrows everywhere.
[01:34:57]
Everywhere.
[01:34:59]
It's pretty nuts.
[01:35:01]
He just finished all over that jungle.
[01:35:03]
Yeah.
[01:35:05]
I had a similar experience with the boss fight as like I guess the combination of both of y'all's like I had the fucking piss easy time of Isaac and Sam.
[01:35:15]
And I had the non lethal just basically just keep the pressure on and he dies like as a lesios.
[01:35:23]
Yes.
[01:35:24]
And it's yeah.
[01:35:25]
It was shocking because like if you hit him in the head it takes down like a huge chunk of his stamina bar and it's like you only have to hit him like four or five times and he's out.
[01:35:34]
He's a sleepy sheep at that point.
[01:35:37]
And you can teabag him all day.
[01:35:39]
No I'm kidding.
[01:35:40]
Yeah dude.
[01:35:41]
But yeah so essentially that happens and if you non lethal kill him you can actually walk like five steps forward and his camo will be there and it is the spider camo.
[01:35:50]
And it gives you about 80 percent camo index kind of across the board like anywhere.
[01:35:56]
But the problem with it is that it drains your stamina like super fast.
[01:36:02]
And so I tend to not ever use it because I don't think the extra camo is worth your stamina toppling that quickly.
[01:36:11]
But I don't know.
[01:36:13]
I thought it was just a cool thing to have.
[01:36:15]
So yep.
[01:36:17]
But yeah so as soon as we wrap up on that we immediately go back through the go back through the warehouse that we came in from.
[01:36:27]
For me going back to what you're talking about about the hungry guards Nick all of the guards in a zone were like completely like oh I'm so hungry.
[01:36:36]
But there was one guard who I guess spawned really close to where the food storehouse was.
[01:36:42]
And so he found like the instant noodles and shit that was in there.
[01:36:46]
And so he like I heard him and he was like oh man there's treats in here.
[01:36:51]
And he's just like rubbing hard on these instant noodles.
[01:36:55]
And you were like no those are mine.
[01:36:57]
And I was like what are you doing dude.
[01:36:58]
So I like put him to sleep immediately.
[01:37:00]
I was like are you stealing my food you piece of shit.
[01:37:02]
But then I turned around and looked over the railing and saw the other two and they were like oh I'm so hungry.
[01:37:07]
So I threw rotten food at them and they ate that shit in a heartbeat.
[01:37:12]
And immediately we're like oh and I like booked it for the door.
[01:37:17]
So I don't know it was pretty easy easy time for me.
[01:37:21]
How was it with you guys.
[01:37:24]
Well whoa.
[01:37:28]
Not all at once guys.
[01:37:31]
And then everybody I want for me.
[01:37:35]
What I did was I mean I had a.
[01:37:37]
All right.
[01:37:42]
Beautiful.
[01:37:43]
I'm sorry.
[01:37:44]
Beautiful comedic timing.
[01:37:47]
Y'all are like.
[01:37:49]
No girls silent.
[01:37:51]
I'll call on you guys.
[01:37:53]
Isaac go.
[01:37:55]
All right.
[01:37:56]
So this is my tactic.
[01:37:57]
I was going to.
[01:37:59]
All right.
[01:38:00]
I went into the area.
[01:38:02]
And immediately he got spotted.
[01:38:04]
And I don't know how.
[01:38:05]
So I ran back out and came back in.
[01:38:07]
New start.
[01:38:09]
I sneak around.
[01:38:10]
I flip over the railing.
[01:38:12]
New year.
[01:38:13]
New year.
[01:38:14]
It's a new year.
[01:38:16]
That's right.
[01:38:17]
You were a flippy boy.
[01:38:18]
I flipped over the railing.
[01:38:20]
Dropped on top of the little boxes.
[01:38:23]
I think there was like a silencer there which was cool.
[01:38:26]
I thought I was going to try to sneak through.
[01:38:30]
But then I stood up.
[01:38:32]
Immediately got spotted again.
[01:38:35]
And so I was like whatever.
[01:38:37]
So I just started running around and.
[01:38:40]
Because I didn't know where I was supposed to go.
[01:38:42]
I knew I was supposed to go into a door.
[01:38:44]
But I didn't know where.
[01:38:46]
So I started just running around and.
[01:38:50]
Until I found the door.
[01:38:53]
Over so I wasn't too bad but it was annoying.
[01:38:57]
That I got spotted.
[01:39:00]
Yes.
[01:39:01]
Different story.
[01:39:04]
I kind of got in a cool fist fight with all the guards.
[01:39:08]
They were all hungry.
[01:39:10]
They spotted me.
[01:39:12]
I'm pretty sure I grabbed the radio guy.
[01:39:17]
He couldn't call in for it.
[01:39:19]
Well my mic almost fell over.
[01:39:21]
He almost called in for backup.
[01:39:24]
I knocked him out and the other two were fighting me.
[01:39:27]
I got one guy in a choke hold.
[01:39:29]
And I was like pulling him away.
[01:39:31]
And then I choked him out.
[01:39:32]
And then I kind of hid behind a box for the other guy.
[01:39:34]
And he was like where are you?
[01:39:36]
And then I knocked him out.
[01:39:39]
And then after the whole room was sleeping.
[01:39:41]
I just left.
[01:39:44]
And the room slept soundly.
[01:39:47]
With their tummies grumbling.
[01:39:51]
The tummy grumbling.
[01:39:53]
They didn't even get their backup.
[01:39:55]
Oh man.
[01:39:56]
What a backup would have shown up.
[01:39:57]
And they're like guys we're hungry too.
[01:40:01]
Why couldn't the radio man?
[01:40:02]
The backup goes down easy.
[01:40:04]
You don't get it.
[01:40:07]
The base major come in.
[01:40:10]
We got a pizza emergency.
[01:40:12]
I need an extra large pie ASAP.
[01:40:16]
But yes, Samuel, did you have any different stories?
[01:40:23]
Or are we good to be?
[01:40:25]
Well, I didn't get caught.
[01:40:27]
And I didn't punch dudes.
[01:40:29]
Which is surprising because that's my usual ammo.
[01:40:32]
But essentially I sniped the dudes on the bottom.
[01:40:36]
Oh my god.
[01:40:38]
Well not like sniped them.
[01:40:40]
I guess I should say I tranquilized the stuff.
[01:40:42]
Marked me too.
[01:40:43]
Just flamethrowered the whole fucking building.
[01:40:45]
Yeah, I didn't even burn it down.
[01:40:47]
But I knocked him out from the top.
[01:40:49]
And then there was another guy up at the top.
[01:40:51]
That I just took care of the two.
[01:40:53]
And I just went in through the door.
[01:40:55]
And it was real simple.
[01:40:58]
I didn't get caught.
[01:41:00]
So we get into a...
[01:41:02]
Sviatogorya.
[01:41:08]
Sviatogorya.
[01:41:11]
South.
[01:41:13]
Sviatogorya.
[01:41:15]
Yeah, that's probably what it is.
[01:41:17]
Sviatogorya.
[01:41:21]
Sviatogornage.
[01:41:23]
But we finally talked to...
[01:41:25]
Sviatogornage.
[01:41:27]
Susie, make a sandwich for me.
[01:41:30]
I am hungry.
[01:41:33]
My food storage has been blown up.
[01:41:35]
Arnold, can you make me a sandwich?
[01:41:39]
They're Italian now.
[01:41:41]
I don't know what the fuck is happening.
[01:41:43]
Fucking guy, hey Arnold dude.
[01:41:45]
I love that guy. Hey Arnold dude.
[01:41:47]
Can you make me a sandwich?
[01:41:49]
Susie left me.
[01:41:51]
Alright, sorry.
[01:41:53]
So Ava finally gets in contact with us since the last time we saw her.
[01:41:58]
I really like the little detail of her kind of whispering while she's talking to us.
[01:42:03]
I thought that was cool.
[01:42:05]
Yeah, because Snake never fucking whispers.
[01:42:07]
He's like, okay, I gotcha.
[01:42:09]
And it's like he's surrounded by people the whole fucking time.
[01:42:13]
Malkyr.
[01:42:15]
Yes, so she's in Graznigrad already.
[01:42:17]
She's with Sokolov because she's Sokolov's woman.
[01:42:21]
And she wants us to meet with her at the ruins of the top of the mountain.
[01:42:25]
But she says that the end is between us and her.
[01:42:28]
And so Snake makes a really shitty pun about the end where he's like,
[01:42:32]
well I hope it's not the end for me.
[01:42:36]
And it's like...
[01:42:38]
I can hear the like just the brimch.
[01:42:41]
Like literally no one laughs though.
[01:42:44]
So I said, this is the true story, he said that and I forgot about that.
[01:42:49]
Like he said that and I said out loud, dude, don't fuck yourself.
[01:42:53]
Like I said, he said the end for me and I'm like, oh, go fuck yourself Snake.
[01:42:58]
What about when the boss does the same thing earlier?
[01:43:00]
She's like, it'll be the end for the boy.
[01:43:03]
And then a really similar cough.
[01:43:08]
But it's the boss.
[01:43:10]
Like come on, she can say anything.
[01:43:14]
I don't think she's exempt.
[01:43:16]
I think that pun was just as lame coming from her face as it was from Snake's.
[01:43:20]
Although Snake's was pretty, pretty worse though.
[01:43:23]
It's the way, puns are good sometimes.
[01:43:25]
It's just the way you deliver them and Snake did not deliver that line.
[01:43:29]
The way he delivered it was like, it was just like, yeah, did you get it?
[01:43:34]
Like no one, like no one.
[01:43:37]
Well she hangs up right after he said that.
[01:43:41]
She's like, oh, fuck this guy.
[01:43:44]
What if she gets to the room or he gets to the ruins and she's just not even there at that point?
[01:43:49]
There's like a note that just says you couldn't have come up with a better joke.
[01:43:52]
You asshole.
[01:43:54]
You asshole, fuck you.
[01:43:56]
Just go to fuck the hell.
[01:43:58]
She's like, like unreasonably pissed with him for like no reason.
[01:44:02]
Puns are always a reason to be pissed at somebody.
[01:44:05]
Yeah, dude.
[01:44:06]
Unless they're Dragon Quest puns, in which case, totally okay with them.
[01:44:10]
Or like Nino Cooney puns.
[01:44:11]
It's the same, same folks.
[01:44:13]
Yeah, same people.
[01:44:14]
Fuck, fuck, fuck those games in there.
[01:44:18]
Fucking puns.
[01:44:20]
Those are the best.
[01:44:21]
I love Cruel Cumber.
[01:44:23]
Yeah.
[01:44:24]
I posted on Twitter, this is going to Nino Cooney for a second.
[01:44:29]
I posted on Twitter, the fucking quarter master is the Cotter master because he's a crow.
[01:44:34]
And I posted on Twitter, I said, god damn it.
[01:44:37]
The Cotter master.
[01:44:39]
The Cotter master.
[01:44:41]
I was like, the fucking weapon salesman is the Cotter master.
[01:44:46]
Just murder me.
[01:44:47]
And then my friend Zach tweets at me, he goes, did you say murder intentionally?
[01:44:52]
And then I was like, nope, I'm about to kill myself now.
[01:44:55]
Bye.
[01:44:56]
I'm off to murder myself.
[01:44:59]
But yeah, so we end up in, I'm just going to say Zvi, we're in Zvi West.
[01:45:03]
Zvi West.
[01:45:05]
And so this is my favorite part of the entire game.
[01:45:08]
Eva literally just got done talking us through how all, like how the only thing between the
[01:45:14]
ruins and where we were was the end.
[01:45:16]
And she specifically says that all of the guards are leaving us to fight amongst ourselves.
[01:45:22]
And then it's going to be a one V one thing.
[01:45:26]
And what happens?
[01:45:27]
Well, I take her at her word and I go running through the forest.
[01:45:33]
And as soon as I get like midway into the zone, like I get surrounded and shot the fuck up
[01:45:40]
like a wild dog.
[01:45:42]
And I was just like, thanks Eva.
[01:45:44]
I really appreciate it.
[01:45:46]
I had to start over.
[01:45:47]
Yeah.
[01:45:48]
And there's like five or six rooms.
[01:45:49]
Like this is a lot of sneaking section.
[01:45:51]
Like, you know, considering Eva's playing up that like only the end is next.
[01:45:56]
There's like, there's like a fuckload of rooms you got to get through to get to the end.
[01:46:00]
Yeah.
[01:46:01]
Like seriously.
[01:46:02]
And I was like, I don't know.
[01:46:03]
So round two, I just fucking tranked and spanked the whole forest and it was okay.
[01:46:08]
In that order.
[01:46:09]
Stop it.
[01:46:10]
I had a really weird experience actually.
[01:46:12]
So I tranked a lot of the dudes and one guy saw me and was like going to like say something
[01:46:19]
like he was like, Hey, and then he said a line that I've never heard before.
[01:46:23]
And he said, just my luck.
[01:46:25]
The radio man must have got it.
[01:46:28]
And I was like, what are you talking about?
[01:46:30]
I was like, does he mean that the guy who's supposed to call in is gone?
[01:46:34]
Or does he mean like the guy on the other end of the radio?
[01:46:37]
Like isn't there anymore?
[01:46:40]
I was like, how did I kill the guy at the HQ?
[01:46:43]
So you got a broken heart.
[01:46:47]
Cause you spanked.
[01:46:48]
You spanked.
[01:46:49]
You drank and spanked.
[01:46:50]
He didn't like it.
[01:46:51]
He didn't like it spanking.
[01:46:52]
He got hungry too.
[01:46:54]
It just left.
[01:46:56]
Yeah, dude.
[01:46:58]
But that was my experience with that area.
[01:47:02]
I'm sure that line of dialogue is like when you knock out the radio man.
[01:47:06]
Yeah.
[01:47:07]
Oh, that's true.
[01:47:09]
So before we get into this little East section, this little optional area, did you guys have
[01:47:13]
anything to say about the West section?
[01:47:16]
Yeah.
[01:47:17]
Drank and spank.
[01:47:18]
Nope.
[01:47:19]
All the way.
[01:47:20]
T and S.
[01:47:21]
Pretty easy.
[01:47:22]
All you got to do is like crawl and then like stick to the right pretty much the whole
[01:47:25]
time and you win.
[01:47:26]
Yeah.
[01:47:27]
I didn't even have to drink anybody or spank anybody.
[01:47:30]
Yeah, seriously.
[01:47:31]
But you know.
[01:47:32]
No, spanking is mandatory.
[01:47:34]
Oh, sorry.
[01:47:35]
Well, I personally did do a little bit of spanking, but like that was cause you know, I was just
[01:47:42]
being a little mischievous.
[01:47:43]
I was like a goblin.
[01:47:45]
I was like, huh?
[01:47:47]
This guy spanked him.
[01:47:49]
You got to spank him cause it being a little naughty boys.
[01:47:52]
I spanked him.
[01:47:53]
How dare you be rushing guards.
[01:47:55]
Stop it.
[01:47:56]
Stop it.
[01:47:57]
Those uniforms.
[01:47:58]
Fabulous.
[01:47:59]
Fabulous.
[01:48:00]
Are we creating the fiction now that all the guards are just flamboyant homosexuals?
[01:48:07]
No, actually, snake is.
[01:48:11]
Snake's a flamboyant homosexual.
[01:48:13]
Got it.
[01:48:14]
So yeah, so then we get to Zvi East, which I call just the zone with the house.
[01:48:19]
Yeah.
[01:48:20]
It was funny.
[01:48:21]
But like the first time I came into this area, I was like, is that Jacob's cabin from Lost?
[01:48:26]
Cause it's just like in the middle of the woods.
[01:48:29]
It's just like random cabin and woods.
[01:48:33]
But I really like this area a lot cause you can, there's a lot of shit you can do.
[01:48:37]
It's like a food cache in there, isn't there?
[01:48:39]
Yeah.
[01:48:40]
So there's a food cache in the back, but you can also get the M38 or whatever.
[01:48:43]
The big ass like artillery gun is here, which is like the machine gun that when you hold
[01:48:49]
down square snake just goes, I love it.
[01:48:54]
It's like very Rambo.
[01:48:55]
But yeah, there's like five or six guards and there's just like that gun and some random
[01:49:01]
ammo and food.
[01:49:02]
So there's really not a lot.
[01:49:04]
Like this is a completely optional zone cause you actually have to backtrack back through.
[01:49:08]
So not everybody will come here.
[01:49:11]
I actually, I think the first time I beat the game, I never actually found this area.
[01:49:15]
Yeah.
[01:49:16]
I skipped past it on accident cause I remembered it was there, but I forgot which way it was
[01:49:20]
and I just wound up going into the battle zone.
[01:49:23]
Yeah.
[01:49:24]
Gonna be truthful.
[01:49:25]
Like this last playthrough that I did for the show was the first time I've ever found
[01:49:29]
that area.
[01:49:30]
And like I had the most like childlike wonder and glee that I have ever felt in my life.
[01:49:36]
Like this game that I should know.
[01:49:38]
I should know this front and back.
[01:49:41]
Like I should know this game and like I'm finding a new fucking area and it's got food
[01:49:47]
storage for me to blow the hell up.
[01:49:49]
I was like, I was ecstatic and I didn't even shoot all the guards out.
[01:49:53]
I just ran up and I was fucking punching.
[01:49:56]
I was punching their lights out.
[01:49:57]
I was clocking their socks off the whole time cause I was just like, oh my God, I'm in a
[01:50:02]
wonderland, a wonderland.
[01:50:04]
You just clocking around.
[01:50:06]
You know, seek you see through a guy into a fucking wall or something.
[01:50:10]
There's actually like a bunch of cracked walls and like fucked up floors so you can actually
[01:50:15]
like crawl and shoot up through and through walls and stuff, which I thought was neat.
[01:50:21]
And I also didn't realize that the trunk would pierce through glass.
[01:50:25]
So one of the dudes on the inside was like, huh, what was that?
[01:50:27]
And I just drank him straight through the window and it really made this really like
[01:50:31]
satisfying just like glass crack.
[01:50:34]
And then the dude just like dropped on the other side and I was like, oh yeah.
[01:50:39]
So yeah, it's a cool zone.
[01:50:41]
I like it.
[01:50:42]
So but you make like the pet shop boys and go west and then you just crawl up a little
[01:50:47]
bit and we end up in Sokrovno south, which is the beginning of the end.
[01:50:56]
Were you waiting to use that line?
[01:50:58]
Cause that was pretty.
[01:50:59]
That was my bad.
[01:51:00]
That was just so.
[01:51:01]
It just gets dead silent and everyone drops off this guy.
[01:51:04]
So yeah, it was just okay.
[01:51:08]
Try again.
[01:51:09]
So I want to say so in contrast to the fear being like super gross, um, despite the eyes,
[01:51:16]
the end is very fucking cool.
[01:51:19]
Yeah, I agree.
[01:51:20]
He's like a very regal battle.
[01:51:22]
And Sam, this is your first time, isn't it?
[01:51:25]
Yeah.
[01:51:26]
So I was going to say so every so every man must make a choice.
[01:51:29]
I missed my usual opportunity to shoot him because I felt like I was going to take on
[01:51:35]
this battle, but I had an out because if you set the clock of your system ahead by like
[01:51:42]
two weeks, the end will just die and you don't have to fight him.
[01:51:45]
So I had a choice.
[01:51:46]
I could have done that.
[01:51:47]
I did not.
[01:51:48]
I fucking fought the end and by the end of the battle, not only did I have his most in
[01:51:54]
the gut, but I had his fucking moss camo too.
[01:51:57]
I felt like a champion.
[01:52:00]
Congrats, which means it's a super exciting, engaging fight.
[01:52:04]
Yeah.
[01:52:05]
For those of you that don't know is to get the mausinaga, you have to just not a nonlethal
[01:52:10]
take him down, which is his sniper rifle.
[01:52:12]
So it's a tranquilizer sniper rifle.
[01:52:15]
But to get his moss camo, you actually have to physically hold him up like you do with
[01:52:21]
the soldiers in Metal Gear Solid 2 by coming up behind him and holding him up with your
[01:52:25]
gun and you can't just hold him up.
[01:52:27]
You have to essentially hold him up, wait until he gets on the ground with his hands
[01:52:31]
over his head and then you have to like alternate between aiming at his body and his head.
[01:52:35]
And at first he'll be like, no.
[01:52:37]
But then the second or third time that you do it, he'll be like, okay, you earned it
[01:52:40]
or sent like whatever paraphrasing and he will like shake his body and then the little
[01:52:45]
package with the uniform will like spit out, which I did not know.
[01:52:50]
I didn't know.
[01:52:51]
So yeah, I went into this fight.
[01:52:54]
Before I went into it, I told myself like, I'm going to hold him up.
[01:52:57]
Like I can't remember if I did previously or not, but I was like, I'm going to hold him
[01:53:00]
up for the playthrough.
[01:53:01]
I want to get his camo.
[01:53:03]
And so I tried to sneak up on him twice and both times, even though I was crawling, he
[01:53:12]
like spotted me.
[01:53:13]
It was weird.
[01:53:14]
Yeah.
[01:53:15]
So when you're crawling, you have to use the D pad or otherwise he'll hear you.
[01:53:18]
Okay.
[01:53:19]
Because D pad is like sneak crawling, like sneak walking.
[01:53:21]
So there was no sneak crawling on the Vita, but there is like a lightly hold the analog
[01:53:26]
nub and you'll like crawl slower.
[01:53:29]
So I remember you said that pressing the L button on the Vita will have you sneak.
[01:53:35]
Uh-huh.
[01:53:36]
It didn't work.
[01:53:37]
Does that not work for crawling?
[01:53:38]
No.
[01:53:39]
I tried it and it didn't change.
[01:53:40]
And so I had to just like lightly hold it.
[01:53:44]
If you go behind him, you don't have to crawl.
[01:53:47]
You can just walk as long as you're using the sneak.
[01:53:48]
No, I know.
[01:53:49]
That's what I eventually did.
[01:53:50]
It was weird.
[01:53:51]
So the two times that I tried to sneak up on him, I did that and he spotted me.
[01:53:54]
The second time was really weird because it was raining and he was asleep.
[01:53:58]
So like when it rains, I guess he falls asleep because there's no sun because for those of
[01:54:04]
you at home, the end photosynthesizes and it's kind of a plant man, which is how he can live
[01:54:10]
that long.
[01:54:11]
And he actually calls upon the solar energy of the forest to push him through one last
[01:54:17]
battle.
[01:54:18]
Um, but yeah, so right after that, I said, fuck it.
[01:54:21]
And what I would do was I would come up behind him and sneak and hold him up that way.
[01:54:27]
And I held him up once without getting the camo and then actually managed to hold him
[01:54:32]
up again to get him to spit out the camo.
[01:54:36]
And then I actually held him up until I beat him for the rest of the game.
[01:54:39]
So I think I held him up a total of six times, which was pretty funny.
[01:54:44]
Well, well, actually I had about the same experience with holding him up because once
[01:54:48]
you get a rhythm down, it's really easy to like just hold him up and end it quick.
[01:54:53]
Um, because the way that I did it, so, so let me, let me backtrack because dude has
[01:54:58]
a parrot, right?
[01:54:59]
Yeah, I love the parrot and the parrot.
[01:55:02]
Well, okay.
[01:55:03]
I felt real bad, but so the battle starts and he has his parrot and he's talking about
[01:55:08]
how the force can, like the force will talk to him and like you're hearing all this stuff
[01:55:11]
about how he has, he can get like the force to communicate with him.
[01:55:16]
And the first thing, the first thing I see, I don't even move my camera.
[01:55:19]
I don't move snake.
[01:55:20]
My first thing I see is the fucking parrot sitting on a stump.
[01:55:23]
So I'm like, God damn it.
[01:55:25]
This thing is going to like go back to him and tell him where I'm at.
[01:55:28]
So I kill the parrot and the end did not like that at all.
[01:55:33]
Oh, no, he essentially says, he essentially says that he goes, no, you killed my bird.
[01:55:43]
You've gone too far this time.
[01:55:46]
That's what he says.
[01:55:47]
Yeah.
[01:55:48]
What it was, when the fuck was the previous time?
[01:55:50]
Exactly.
[01:55:51]
I haven't done anything yet.
[01:55:52]
But this time is that you didn't kill his bird, you monster.
[01:55:56]
No, but I kill, I went too far this time killing the bird and I felt real bad.
[01:56:02]
And I'll talk about that.
[01:56:03]
I'll talk about the changes in the final cut scene when, when we get to it, his like
[01:56:08]
death scene.
[01:56:09]
But yeah.
[01:56:10]
And then so what I wound up doing was I was running around.
[01:56:16]
I wasn't sure what to do.
[01:56:17]
And like the paranoid person that I am, I was like, I was like aiming at everything that
[01:56:21]
was a vaguely human shape on the ground.
[01:56:26]
And then he shot me and it was, I had this, this thing that happened where he shot me
[01:56:31]
and I ran around to him without sneaking and he gets up and he runs away.
[01:56:36]
I'm like, what the fuck?
[01:56:37]
So I turned the thermal goggles on and you can see his footprints.
[01:56:40]
And this is the first time I've noticed that like you can see footprints in the thermal.
[01:56:44]
So I'm like, shit.
[01:56:45]
So I find him again, I make him run again and then I track his footprints and he's just
[01:56:51]
chilling looking away from me.
[01:56:53]
So I sneak up on him and, and I shoot him.
[01:56:57]
He only has the, you can only track the footprints whenever he runs through mud because even,
[01:57:02]
even if you don't have the thermals on, you can actually see muddy footprints, but only
[01:57:06]
if he runs through mud.
[01:57:08]
Yeah.
[01:57:09]
So I was tracking his footprints throughout the whole thing and then I, I didn't held
[01:57:14]
him up the first time, but I shot him and he will throw a fucking stun grenade at you.
[01:57:22]
And I didn't realize that.
[01:57:24]
So he, so it'll flash and he'll get away.
[01:57:27]
So I tried it again.
[01:57:28]
I, I made him run.
[01:57:31]
I followed him.
[01:57:32]
I held him up this time and I didn't get the camo that time because I didn't know that
[01:57:36]
you had to do the aiming thing.
[01:57:38]
And then he throws the, I, I shoot him and then he throws the grenade, but I turned myself
[01:57:44]
away from the grenade.
[01:57:45]
So the flash doesn't happen.
[01:57:47]
So you see him immediately run away and you can follow him.
[01:57:51]
And if he goes into the second zone, he's just going to be right in front of you on
[01:57:55]
the next available like cliff.
[01:57:57]
And then I just rinse, wash, repeat until he died.
[01:58:00]
That's awesome.
[01:58:02]
Yeah.
[01:58:03]
For just a real quick get in my last two comments so I can let Isaac and Nick chat about their
[01:58:08]
experience.
[01:58:09]
Um, I will say that, uh, for me, uh, when I started the fight, I was trying to figure
[01:58:14]
out where he was to get his position and I just kind of like stepped out and immediately
[01:58:19]
I heard like, uh, there you are or whatever he says.
[01:58:23]
Um, and, uh, he started shooting and so I was like, shit.
[01:58:26]
And so you see like a little shed right in front of you.
[01:58:28]
So I booked it into the little ammo shed and I was like, okay, I'm going to run out and
[01:58:33]
then just like dive for the nearest tree and just see if I can get away.
[01:58:37]
Um, and as soon as I dive out, the little shed is like up on a, like a lift.
[01:58:41]
So when you hit the edge, snake will like jump into the air.
[01:58:45]
Um, so as soon as I hit the edge and he jumped, I got shot in midair and it just like ripped
[01:58:50]
snake like out of the air, but it landed on his back and I laughed my just like, you
[01:58:59]
could see it.
[01:58:59]
Like I just saw the bullet come in from screen left and it just like clipped me and it was
[01:59:04]
like whoosh.
[01:59:05]
And I was like, okay, this is how we're going to play.
[01:59:09]
Um, and so by the end of it, like Sam was saying, uh, we, we both just got into this
[01:59:13]
rhythm of just holding him up over and over.
[01:59:16]
Um, I actually, uh, originally took me a while to find him.
[01:59:20]
And if you want to, while you're sneaking around his stamina, just like slowly
[01:59:24]
disintegrates as you play.
[01:59:26]
Um, and there is one time where I snuck up on him and he was actually standing on the
[01:59:30]
top of a cliff with a sun shining on him and he raised his hands into the sky and
[01:59:34]
said, give me strength.
[01:59:36]
And I could tell he was about to get recharged.
[01:59:38]
Um, so I just shot him in the head and he ran off.
[01:59:41]
Um, and I never saw him do it again.
[01:59:43]
Um, but, uh, right at the very end, he had like barely any stamina and I literally ran
[01:59:49]
out of Mark 22 bullets.
[01:59:52]
So I said, fuck this.
[01:59:54]
I'm not going to try and do it with the stun grenade.
[01:59:56]
I definitely don't want to restart the fight.
[01:59:58]
And so I walked up to him.
[01:59:59]
I held him up with an empty gun.
[02:00:02]
Um, he put his hands over his head and laid down on the ground and I said, fuck it.
[02:00:06]
Walked up to his head and kicked him in the back of the head and it immediately went to
[02:00:11]
the cut scene and I was like, yes.
[02:00:15]
So I beat him by kicking him.
[02:00:16]
Oh, that's glorious.
[02:00:18]
It was wonderful.
[02:00:18]
I'm great.
[02:00:21]
Wait.
[02:00:21]
So I was that, was that a really want to hear?
[02:00:24]
Hold on.
[02:00:25]
Was that a lethal or non lethal kill?
[02:00:28]
Non lethal because they, uh, whenever you may lay it affects the stamina.
[02:00:30]
Okay.
[02:00:32]
No, I know.
[02:00:33]
I, so I want to hear, uh, from both of you guys because one, I obviously want to
[02:00:38]
hear Isaac's experience with this battle.
[02:00:41]
Uh, but I also want to hear Nick's experience on the 3DS.
[02:00:44]
So I'm torn.
[02:00:45]
Alessio, how do we decide who tell us first?
[02:00:49]
Let's kick it to, uh, Isaac, since he's been on more episode.
[02:00:54]
Okay.
[02:00:55]
It's a new wordy seniority seniority rules.
[02:00:58]
Do it.
[02:00:58]
Do it.
[02:00:59]
Hey, I don't mind.
[02:01:01]
It'll be all right.
[02:01:02]
All right.
[02:01:02]
Isaac, how, how do you fare against?
[02:01:04]
Okay.
[02:01:05]
I don't know if this is going to be a surprise for you guys.
[02:01:08]
Um, buddy, Aston, but yeah, it was amazing.
[02:01:12]
I was like, this is all right.
[02:01:14]
I was talking with Alessio a few days ago, uh, cause I hadn't even started like
[02:01:19]
this, um, this whole segment that we're on.
[02:01:23]
I hadn't even started on it a couple of days ago.
[02:01:25]
Um, so Alessio was like, yeah, you should probably dedicate like a few hours to
[02:01:30]
just beating the end, um, or cut an hour or so.
[02:01:35]
I was like, oh geez, that's going to suck.
[02:01:38]
Um, and it actually, I played it, um, like last night and it was not too bad.
[02:01:47]
Actually, um, I got to him and I got to the end and I was like, all right, I'm
[02:01:51]
going to save this for tomorrow.
[02:01:53]
Um, but I was, I'll give it one go for Alessio and, uh, um, and it actually
[02:02:02]
was really awesome.
[02:02:03]
Like the tracking of, uh, the end was awesome.
[02:02:07]
I love that part of the, the gameplay.
[02:02:10]
Right when it started, I could see a little shimmer from his sniper rifle, um,
[02:02:15]
up in the mountains.
[02:02:16]
I was like, oh, a little dirty man trying to sneak it, sneak it.
[02:02:21]
Dirty ass.
[02:02:25]
Dirty old plant man.
[02:02:26]
So I took my sniper rifle out.
[02:02:28]
I didn't, I had crouched down.
[02:02:29]
I didn't think he saw me.
[02:02:31]
Um, and I took my sniper rifle out right when I was about to aim.
[02:02:37]
He freaking snipes me and he's like, ah, you didn't think it would be that easy.
[02:02:43]
And I shot me more, a couple more times, but, um, that's when I was like, all right,
[02:02:48]
this is going to suck.
[02:02:49]
So whatever.
[02:02:51]
I'll just endure it until I die.
[02:02:54]
Um, yeah.
[02:02:57]
It really started blacking out because of the trunk.
[02:03:00]
A couple of times.
[02:03:01]
And I was like, oh, I should probably cure myself.
[02:03:03]
Um, I love that effect.
[02:03:04]
Like the screen gets darker and vignettes and snake just gets kind of
[02:03:09]
exhausted until you remove the crank.
[02:03:12]
I forgot to do that one time and I was sneaking up on him and I was about to
[02:03:16]
hold him up, but like I saw the like the foxing of the edges.
[02:03:19]
I was like, shit.
[02:03:20]
So I went into the menu to cure real quick.
[02:03:23]
It's pretty cool.
[02:03:25]
Um, so yeah, areas.
[02:03:29]
So big.
[02:03:31]
So big.
[02:03:32]
So big.
[02:03:35]
So anyway.
[02:03:37]
Um, so yeah, I thought the tracking was really cool in this boss fight.
[02:03:43]
Um, but the areas were huge.
[02:03:45]
Like you had to go through three different areas to find him.
[02:03:49]
Um, and I actually went and, um, snuck up behind him.
[02:03:55]
I didn't know you had to hold him up to get the, the, the camo.
[02:04:00]
I just thought if you use non lethal, you would get it, which, yeah, but I
[02:04:05]
snuck up behind him and popped him a couple of times, uh, before he threw the
[02:04:11]
stun grenade down on me.
[02:04:13]
Um, and then it was a matter of just tracking and hunting this old man down.
[02:04:20]
I will say, all right.
[02:04:22]
So when he summons the sun or whatever to give him strength, yeah, when he does
[02:04:28]
the spirit bomb, the light from the heavens come to it, it happens like when
[02:04:34]
he's about to die, like when his stamina is about to go, um, to zero or whatever.
[02:04:41]
Uh, cause it, I got him all the way down to the, to, till, I don't know, the last
[02:04:47]
little bit and then he ran away and I couldn't find him.
[02:04:52]
I don't, I don't know where he went.
[02:04:55]
And so I was running around trying to find him and then he, that's when he
[02:04:58]
summoned the guy and his stamina went all the way back up.
[02:05:02]
He summoned the guy.
[02:05:05]
The son.
[02:05:06]
This is a dude.
[02:05:08]
The guy, you know, it heals his health back up to like quite a bit.
[02:05:12]
Like, um, I remember like the first or second time I played this game, like back
[02:05:17]
on the PS two, the original snakey diversion.
[02:05:20]
I remember like I was trying to take him down like legit and he was just like,
[02:05:24]
calm to me son.
[02:05:26]
And then like, he was at like maybe a quarter of his health left and then he
[02:05:29]
just went back up.
[02:05:30]
He now had three quarters of his health left and I was really disappointed, upset
[02:05:34]
that day.
[02:05:35]
It was a very bad time.
[02:05:39]
I wanted to kill somebody, but yeah, dude, I wanted the old man to die.
[02:05:44]
I was really glad that his wheelchair doesn't appear in the site.
[02:05:49]
So, but I really thought it was, oh, no, Isaac's not done.
[02:05:54]
Now I was just going to say, I thought it was really cool.
[02:05:56]
They broke it up into three like completely separate areas.
[02:05:59]
The South, North and West, I think.
[02:06:04]
It's South, North and West.
[02:06:07]
No East, no love for East, but no.
[02:06:09]
No East Virginia.
[02:06:11]
Yeah.
[02:06:12]
No, I will say, um, real quick, just to let people know what the camo does.
[02:06:17]
So the Moss camo that you get from holding him up gives you 100% index
[02:06:22]
rating whenever you're in leaves or grass.
[02:06:24]
Um, and it can actually pop a little achievement, which I found out, um, when
[02:06:28]
you wear it because you get an achievement rating 100% index.
[02:06:31]
Um, and likewise too, if you're in the sun, it will, uh, up your, uh, stamina.
[02:06:38]
Like regenerate your stamina.
[02:06:40]
Yep.
[02:06:40]
Oh, what?
[02:06:41]
Nice.
[02:06:43]
It's pretty sweet.
[02:06:44]
Snake is like, snake, snake getting all these camos is kind of like an X-men that
[02:06:48]
can let, it's like an X-men that can like absorb powers.
[02:06:52]
Like other powers.
[02:06:53]
Yeah.
[02:06:53]
Like rogue.
[02:06:54]
So snake is, snake is an X-man too.
[02:06:57]
Yeah.
[02:06:57]
I don't know.
[02:06:58]
Peter Petrelli.
[02:06:59]
For me, it was kind of like a Mega Man after he beats bosses and like steals
[02:07:02]
their steel, steel, steel, star, web.
[02:07:07]
Cool.
[02:07:07]
Well, Sam, what were you going to say before Isaac?
[02:07:10]
No, I was going to, I thought it was done.
[02:07:11]
So I was going to ask Nick for his experience on 3ds.
[02:07:14]
Real quick, I will notice in the opening cutscene with the end, did you guys
[02:07:18]
notice that when the end calls out snake, it's lower case?
[02:07:21]
It's lower case.
[02:07:23]
Yeah.
[02:07:23]
What the fuck's up with that?
[02:07:24]
He's throwing so much shade at him.
[02:07:27]
He's like me earlier in the podcast.
[02:07:30]
You don't.
[02:07:32]
You don't.
[02:07:33]
It's just like it's for us.
[02:07:34]
Yeah.
[02:07:35]
Lower case Sam, right?
[02:07:38]
Yeah, lower case Alessio Summerfield.
[02:07:41]
Whoa, dude.
[02:07:41]
Hey, it's pronounced Elizabeth.
[02:07:47]
Lower case, Alessio.
[02:07:48]
Alessio Elizabeth, right?
[02:07:52]
Is that what it is?
[02:07:54]
Yeah.
[02:07:54]
Yeah.
[02:07:56]
How was your experience?
[02:07:57]
Nicholas.
[02:07:58]
Lower case, Nicholas Ziggler.
[02:08:00]
Lower case.
[02:08:02]
Really quick, Alessio, in the future, whenever you and Christian decide to have kids,
[02:08:06]
if you have a girl and you don't name her Elizabeth, I'm going to be so fucking mad.
[02:08:11]
Yeah, but then I'll have really awkward like bio shock infinite moments.
[02:08:14]
Lower case Elizabeth.
[02:08:17]
Name her lower case Elizabeth.
[02:08:20]
Like legally change your first letter to be the letter in her name.
[02:08:26]
That'd be hilarious.
[02:08:27]
So all the teachers think it's a think it's a typo on their class.
[02:08:31]
They take off five points.
[02:08:33]
They take off five points on her test when she spells her name incorrectly.
[02:08:37]
With a capital.
[02:08:39]
Damn it.
[02:08:39]
Yeah.
[02:08:40]
Didn't match.
[02:08:40]
Anyway, anyway, I hit it.
[02:08:43]
Z Z.
[02:08:45]
Low case Z.
[02:08:46]
I don't like this boss fight, which is heresy.
[02:08:54]
Um, I find it dull on the 3ds because the resolution is so small and so crap.
[02:09:05]
You're like sneaking and crawling around and you think, oh man, that cluster of four
[02:09:09]
pixels over there, it could be the end or maybe it could just be a rogue log.
[02:09:13]
So you pop into first person to maybe try to get a better view of it.
[02:09:16]
And if it is the end, he's already shot your dick open.
[02:09:19]
And otherwise you're just.
[02:09:25]
That sounds terrible.
[02:09:27]
Yeah, dude.
[02:09:28]
They're like bisecting your dick.
[02:09:31]
Oh, it's a new feature for the 3ds version.
[02:09:38]
He has to go to the next one.
[02:09:39]
Out of the console and just.
[02:09:43]
I was saying, I was saying, what's the new status effect for snake?
[02:09:46]
God damn.
[02:09:47]
It's you got to go into the cure menu and just like a little thing on your
[02:09:50]
crotch and you have to use a sewing kit.
[02:09:52]
Anyway, did you take?
[02:09:54]
Did you take?
[02:09:57]
But yeah, like it's so bad, like you can't like pick them out of the environment
[02:10:02]
on the 3ds version because the resolution is so small.
[02:10:04]
And also, I don't know, like I understand that this boss is a genius
[02:10:08]
deconstruction of the boss fight as a concept in video games, but like,
[02:10:12]
oh my God, there's like, it's so hard.
[02:10:16]
If my problem is that I'm bad at it because I'm not patient at all.
[02:10:19]
When it comes to this fight, fight, like I'll try to like sneak around for a
[02:10:24]
little bit with like the sniper rifle equipped, try and see if I can get a
[02:10:30]
few pot shots at him.
[02:10:31]
It just, it just ends up me running laps around the three areas, not finding
[02:10:36]
him at all, because he's probably moving to areas that I am not the whole time.
[02:10:41]
Like I'm convinced he can teleport and like, you know, it usually just the
[02:10:47]
boss fight pretty much any time I fight him, because I always fight him legit.
[02:10:51]
I never have the patience to wait the week or set my clock forward a week,
[02:10:55]
which is kind of weirdly backwards.
[02:10:57]
Anyway, I always just end up running him down with the AK and then shooting him
[02:11:01]
to death.
[02:11:02]
And that's what, that's what I did this time because.
[02:11:06]
Fucking a didn't have America didn't have.
[02:11:10]
Using a Russian rifle.
[02:11:11]
Yeah, America.
[02:11:14]
But yeah.
[02:11:15]
I.
[02:11:18]
I was going to say, did you guys were you guys ever in a zone and then had him
[02:11:21]
like show up?
[02:11:25]
Because I like I was posted in a zone near the entrance and he just fucking
[02:11:30]
like trucked on in there one time.
[02:11:31]
He was just like, I was about to walk out like we were really close.
[02:11:35]
And I thought he was going to see me and he didn't.
[02:11:37]
And he just comes like running on through and he's like, oh, oh, oh, and
[02:11:41]
just like, yeah, no, I popped him in the ass one time when he was catching his
[02:11:45]
breath because I was like right hot in his heels.
[02:11:48]
It was fucking hilarious.
[02:11:50]
That's wonderful.
[02:11:50]
Dude, he's quick though.
[02:11:51]
He's.
[02:11:52]
Yeah, he's one speedy.
[02:11:54]
Right.
[02:11:54]
He's a spry old man.
[02:11:55]
Although the girl is pretty young, old, pretty spry for a little guy.
[02:12:01]
Nice.
[02:12:01]
I did want to throw this out there.
[02:12:03]
I was doing some reading up on the on the fight after I beat him.
[02:12:07]
Apparently if you go into the map and you enter in the Konami code, it shows
[02:12:11]
you where he is, but only if he's in the same area as you, I believe.
[02:12:15]
Yeah.
[02:12:16]
If he's in the same area as you.
[02:12:17]
So if he doesn't show up on the map, he's in a different area, but like the
[02:12:20]
Konami code will put a little red dot on the map where he's at so you can you
[02:12:23]
can find him.
[02:12:24]
And I was like, God damn it.
[02:12:25]
I wish I wouldn't have known that before.
[02:12:27]
Nice.
[02:12:27]
Also, the map already circles the sniper spots for you.
[02:12:32]
So you can kind of cycle through just checking them periodically.
[02:12:35]
Yeah.
[02:12:39]
Anyway, Nick continue.
[02:12:40]
I think that or was that or was that the end?
[02:12:42]
I mean, yeah, the end of it.
[02:12:43]
But like, yeah, like, I don't know.
[02:12:47]
I mean, my story about it isn't very funny just because, yeah, I don't know.
[02:12:51]
Like just I just don't ever have enough patience to do this boss fight legitimately.
[02:12:57]
Like I just cannot.
[02:12:59]
I can't snipe him because like, oh, like.
[02:13:01]
I used to do it where I just run.
[02:13:03]
I'd like run out in the open, essentially slapping my ass cheeks, being like,
[02:13:08]
hey, come get a big boy.
[02:13:10]
And, you know, eventually he'd take the bait to then I'd take cover and then,
[02:13:16]
you know, fire back at him.
[02:13:18]
But even then, like, you know, it just got to a point where a lot of the
[02:13:23]
time that didn't even work.
[02:13:24]
Like he'd always just be in a different area or something, like a knot at a post
[02:13:28]
where you could see me.
[02:13:29]
So like, even with my little even with my little fucking strategy of, you know,
[02:13:34]
doing the bait and like bait baiting him out, like it hardly works.
[02:13:39]
I usually just end up running into him first, which then I can just fucking
[02:13:42]
run him down with an AK.
[02:13:47]
All right.
[02:13:47]
Yeah.
[02:13:48]
That's my not funny and not entertaining analysis of the whole fight.
[02:13:52]
It's a little funny.
[02:13:55]
It's a little funny.
[02:13:56]
Well, Sam, can you tell us what happens at the end of the end?
[02:14:01]
So I tell you what, he does like his little monologue and it's actually a
[02:14:06]
really cool death scene until his fucking dentures fly out of his hand.
[02:14:12]
Yeah, I agree with that.
[02:14:13]
Cause like the leaves on his body change, which is cool because he's like
[02:14:17]
essentially accepted death at the hands of snake.
[02:14:21]
And he says that he lived life with no regrets and then his leaves change,
[02:14:25]
which was cool.
[02:14:26]
And then his fucking dentures fly out of his mouth.
[02:14:28]
And I was like, are you serious right now?
[02:14:30]
Oh, okay.
[02:14:31]
Okay.
[02:14:31]
Okay.
[02:14:32]
This is also where I want to throw in the parrot thing.
[02:14:35]
So I imagine that, um, that the parrot flies down and like talks and like
[02:14:41]
lands on him when he dies, right?
[02:14:43]
Yes.
[02:14:44]
If you shoot the parrot, parrot still comes down.
[02:14:47]
It's just a ghost parrot.
[02:14:48]
Yeah, exactly.
[02:14:49]
Yeah.
[02:14:50]
I've killed the parrot before.
[02:14:51]
I didn't do it this time, but yeah, I have once before killed the parrot.
[02:14:54]
I felt so bad.
[02:14:54]
Sorrow.
[02:14:55]
Fuck it.
[02:14:56]
Fuck it.
[02:14:57]
Fucking sorrow parrot comes and lands on him and the scene is identical with the
[02:15:01]
parrot.
[02:15:01]
The exact same thing that happens, I imagine, but like the fucking, yeah,
[02:15:05]
it's just a ghost pair.
[02:15:06]
And I'm like, fuck yeah, dude, this is great.
[02:15:08]
That would be amazing if the ghost pair just cried like a single blood tear as well.
[02:15:12]
And then it started cutting his wrist because there was a golf.
[02:15:16]
Not a golf.
[02:15:17]
Got it.
[02:15:18]
Can't, can't forget the golf parrot, the Gothic parrot.
[02:15:21]
Gothic parrot.
[02:15:22]
New homework assignment.
[02:15:24]
Mm hmm.
[02:15:25]
And then the Gothic.
[02:15:27]
Draw a Gothic parrot.
[02:15:30]
Guys, y'all really need to listen to Madman book.
[02:15:34]
Seriously, I'm going to, I'm going to give you all actually, yeah, no,
[02:15:37]
because it will be, we had an off week this week where we read another cat
[02:15:40]
fishman, so it'll be next week after this podcast where it's got the new
[02:15:45]
homework assignment and I'll fill you in while we do plugs.
[02:15:49]
Yes.
[02:15:49]
We, but yeah, so that is essentially the end of one of the best boss fights in
[02:15:55]
video games.
[02:15:56]
It is, it's a very, it's a very good boss.
[02:15:58]
It's very engaging.
[02:15:59]
I wasn't, I'm glad that I finally, I finally accomplished that.
[02:16:03]
And I'm glad that I accomplished that at an age where I can actually appreciate
[02:16:06]
the boss fight for what it is.
[02:16:08]
I'm glad to, I was very excited to hear that you took it on in earnest.
[02:16:13]
So it was good.
[02:16:13]
Yes.
[02:16:15]
I had to, I had to, I had to give the listeners a full experience.
[02:16:18]
Look at that guys.
[02:16:19]
Do you see that?
[02:16:20]
Yeah.
[02:16:21]
I did this for you guys.
[02:16:22]
He did it for you guys.
[02:16:23]
Who did I, who were we emailing with that I, was it, fuck, who was I emailing
[02:16:27]
with?
[02:16:28]
Cause we were talking to somebody and I threatened to, um, I threatened to just
[02:16:31]
set the clock forward and they sent a picture.
[02:16:34]
He sent the picture of the end, um, with the captain, you wouldn't dare.
[02:16:42]
But I can't, the life of me, I'm going to, I'm looking for the email right now.
[02:16:45]
I can't remember.
[02:16:46]
Gotcha.
[02:16:47]
I will all vamp for a second while you look for the email.
[02:16:49]
So cool.
[02:16:51]
So yeah.
[02:16:51]
So essentially that, uh, oh, good.
[02:16:53]
Well, uh, I think there was something else about the end that I wanted to point out.
[02:16:58]
Fuck now I'm vamping.
[02:16:59]
But I can remember.
[02:17:03]
Okay.
[02:17:04]
Well, if you guys remember, if you guys remember, um, but yeah, so this has been
[02:17:08]
a little bit of a longer episode, so we're probably going to cut it here.
[02:17:10]
Um, we're going to start off with a very intense boss battle.
[02:17:14]
It was first.
[02:17:15]
It was West.
[02:17:16]
Oh, I got it.
[02:17:16]
That's what we're on.
[02:17:17]
I got it too.
[02:17:18]
All right.
[02:17:19]
What's up, Nick?
[02:17:19]
Um, if you set the clock forward an hour, like everybody shames you for it.
[02:17:24]
Like, like, Snake gets all like, like for Lauren and he's like, but he wanted
[02:17:29]
to have one last fight.
[02:17:31]
And I think even Eva comes on and is like, dude, he wanted to have one last fight.
[02:17:35]
And then zero is like, Snake, what the fuck?
[02:17:37]
Just get going.
[02:17:38]
You killed him.
[02:17:39]
What are you doing?
[02:17:39]
Stop being sad.
[02:17:41]
That's funny.
[02:17:43]
Oh, is that if you said it a week or is it?
[02:17:44]
Yeah, that's if you skip the fight by setting it a week forward.
[02:17:48]
Everyone gets all like or like Snake gets all like, but he wanted to have a
[02:17:52]
long last fight with me.
[02:17:54]
And then and then zero the whole time is just like, dude, you won.
[02:17:57]
Keep going.
[02:17:58]
Just get the fuck out of here.
[02:17:59]
Yeah, dude, you've got a time limit.
[02:18:02]
What are you doing?
[02:18:03]
No one.
[02:18:04]
Yeah, you're already a week behind schedule, dog.
[02:18:06]
And we told you that you had 24 hours.
[02:18:08]
So yeah, here's the thing.
[02:18:11]
Here's the thing that gets me about like the whole time thing, like the food
[02:18:13]
rotting and stuff like that.
[02:18:15]
Fucking you have this all is all taking place canonically within a
[02:18:20]
within a 24 hour period, right?
[02:18:22]
Yeah, it's like a day or a couple days at max.
[02:18:25]
So like this shit shouldn't be rotted when I come back to it.
[02:18:28]
That's why I shouldn't be able to set the timer a week ahead.
[02:18:31]
The clock a week ahead to kill the end.
[02:18:33]
Well, time in the Metal Gear universe moves very slowly.
[02:18:36]
So yeah, it's like a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey, whiny.
[02:18:42]
Jesus Christ.
[02:18:44]
OK, go fuck yourself, Alessio.
[02:18:46]
Doctor Who is truth.
[02:19:12]
OK, so on that note, it's latest fuck and this episode has gone on for way too long.
[02:19:18]
So I'm sleepy.
[02:19:19]
We're going to curtail it here.
[02:19:22]
We will begin next episode with a phenomenal boss fight.
[02:19:26]
But that is not to say that we're not going to have a side up.
[02:19:30]
And so the side up, like we said at the top of the episode, the side up as of you
[02:19:36]
listening to this, you have until Saturday.
[02:19:38]
Of this week, which gives you five days, five days.
[02:19:44]
So right in about anything covering from Grenini Gorky Lab to the end of the end.
[02:19:50]
And yes, so that has been our show.
[02:19:55]
Before we go on to plugs, I just really quickly want to plug the network.
[02:19:59]
So as Nick mentioned, we have other podcasts besides Metal Gear Mondays.
[02:20:03]
So if you guys are interested in all of our other shows,
[02:20:05]
we have a show for every day of the week.
[02:20:07]
We have the Madbag book, Madbag book club.
[02:20:11]
We have May we have a word, which is currently sort of between seasons.
[02:20:15]
We have Metal Gear Mondays.
[02:20:17]
We have the Geek Time podcast, which alternates with that's the question.
[02:20:22]
And then we have the week in Geek, which is geek news and toast.
[02:20:25]
Don't you don't you forget toast?
[02:20:28]
Yeah, well, actually, I'm staring at the Slack channels.
[02:20:30]
And so I was going through it in a couple of weeks.
[02:20:33]
Slack channel.
[02:20:34]
And so I was going through it in a Slack channel.
[02:20:37]
So anyway, also, so for those of you who didn't see the post on the Facebook page,
[02:20:42]
if you if you don't follow that this last this past Friday, Geek Time podcast,
[02:20:48]
Isaac was actually on the show.
[02:20:50]
So it was Metal Gear Mondays crew plus Aaron Deplisqually.
[02:20:55]
It was good. The week in Geek podcast.
[02:20:57]
It was a good episode.
[02:20:58]
Got a little heated.
[02:20:59]
I was scared.
[02:20:59]
Server. Sorry, man.
[02:21:00]
I show up to work when I show up.
[02:21:02]
All right.
[02:21:05]
So you can find all that stuff at the website.
[02:21:07]
We upload everything on geekti.me and also soundcloud.com slash geektimepod.
[02:21:15]
For sure.
[02:21:15]
And you can also support the network by going to patreon.com slash geek time pod.
[02:21:21]
K, I guess a couple of bucks.
[02:21:21]
You get access to the Slack channel for as little as a dollar a month,
[02:21:25]
as well as exclusive Patreon blogs.
[02:21:29]
And on the first and the 15th of every month,
[02:21:33]

[02:21:44]
you will have you will have seen my ridiculous notes for the first part of
[02:21:48]

[02:21:49]

[02:21:53]
And like us too, we have a merch shop with shirts that is available.
[02:21:56]

You can also go to geektime.spreadshirt.com for sure.
[02:22:08]
And also there's a donate button on the website again, geekti.me where if you

[02:22:18]
it kicks us a little bit of money off of each of your purchases,
[02:22:21]
no extra money on your end whatsoever.
[02:22:24]
So there are plenty of ways to support and we would really appreciate it or even
[02:22:28]
an iTunes rating or review, which we have not talked about in a while.
[02:22:31]
Yeah, still do that.
[02:22:32]
Yes.
[02:22:33]
We like we haven't forgotten iTunes.
[02:22:35]
We still want you to review us on iTunes and they've reviews.
[02:22:37]
We've got a couple that we're going to talk about.
[02:22:39]
We've got a couple of reviews that we're behind on that we're going to talk about
[02:22:41]
on the the side up episode next week.
[02:22:44]
But iTunes reviews are still super helpful.
[02:22:46]
So keep on doing them.
[02:22:47]
Absolutely.
[02:22:48]
And definitely tell a friend as well.
[02:22:50]
And Facebook page is just Metal Gear Mondays.
[02:22:53]
Also geek time pod for the network.
[02:22:57]
And yeah, so this has been great.
[02:22:58]
Twitter, Twitter, Twitter at geek time pod and I believe that that is everything.
[02:23:03]
So yes, it is.
[02:23:05]
Nick, it has been for now.
[02:23:06]
It has been kick ass covering this part of the game with you.
[02:23:10]
Hell yeah.
[02:23:11]
Awesome, awesome guest.
[02:23:12]
This has been a season of phenomenal guests.
[02:23:15]
Right.
[02:23:16]
So I'm excited.
[02:23:17]
I agree.
[02:23:19]
Yep.
[02:23:19]
PJ, Zach, Khoros, Ziggie, Ziggie, Madbat and and also I'm going to hijack for a sec.
[02:23:26]
So this this episode is coming out after Madbat book club, which will be Catfish Man.
[02:23:32]
But then the next week, we're most likely going back to my immortal and the homework
[02:23:35]
assignment that week is to create the backstory of a gothic clam.
[02:23:41]
And I'm like, I'm not even lying about that one.
[02:23:46]
So if you have if you have if you have shit, like send it in.
[02:23:53]
If you are on the Slack channel, send it in on the Slack channel.
[02:23:56]
If you send it to madbatbookclub at gmail.com or on Twitter at madbatbookclub
[02:24:02]
or even the geek time, I'm pretty sure if if Sam gets any of the any of those.
[02:24:06]
Yeah, if I get any prompt, I will immediately laugh at them and then forward
[02:24:11]
them to forward them to Nicky Ziggie.
[02:24:13]
So and already send them to me as well.
[02:24:15]
I will say that we are mad on the show and we will read them out on the show
[02:24:19]
for you for certain.
[02:24:21]
So that that's that's that's my call.
[02:24:23]
That's my all call for the end.
[02:24:25]
What we've wrapped the show.
[02:24:26]
All right.
[02:24:28]
I love it.
[02:24:29]
But yeah, so as always, Nick Ziggler is has been a fantastic guest
[02:24:34]
and he's a cohost of the Madbat book club.
[02:24:39]
Nick, where can they find you online besides the Madbat book club stuff?
[02:24:44]
Or that's pretty much it.
[02:24:47]
I don't have a Twitter or I do, but I don't use it.
[02:24:50]
So we'll speak.
[02:24:52]
Actually, no, no, I do.
[02:24:54]
Sorry, I'm sorry.
[02:24:56]
Well, first of all, I do.
[02:24:58]
I do have a YouTube channel.
[02:24:59]
It's called Zex Crew Z E C K S C R E W.
[02:25:03]
It's me and Taco and we do let's plays.
[02:25:06]
And that's about it.
[02:25:07]
That's my plug. Sorry.
[02:25:08]
I feel like I'm hijacking too much.
[02:25:10]
No, dude, you're totally fine.
[02:25:11]
Good. Isaac.
[02:25:12]
So I'm going to pimp, pimp for Isaac because we need to do a
[02:25:16]
follower update on Twitter.com.
[02:25:18]
Slash doesn't have a tweet.
[02:25:21]
That's me.
[02:25:21]
So we set.
[02:25:22]
We set.
[02:25:22]
That's me, right?
[02:25:24]
Yeah, totally.
[02:25:26]
Following.
[02:25:27]
I set a we set a a limit for you.
[02:25:30]
So if you hit 30 followers, you had to tweet.
[02:25:35]
So West Pomeroy was the last follower.
[02:25:38]
So you now have followers from the Geek Time Geek Time Networks own James
[02:25:42]
Vanny from parts Express, which is his company.
[02:25:46]
Express.
[02:25:47]
Oh, yeah.
[02:25:49]
You have a follow from Mitch, who is apparently from Chicago.
[02:25:55]
You have a a a follow from Tabby Hussar.
[02:26:00]
Nice little fairies.
[02:26:01]
Her little goth gothic tinkerbell.
[02:26:06]
Mike Nilsson.
[02:26:08]
Listener.
[02:26:09]
Shit, that is liquid metal.
[02:26:11]
That is liquid metal.
[02:26:12]
My dude.
[02:26:14]
What up, though?
[02:26:16]
Guy named Iroquois Pliskin.
[02:26:18]
Oh, the Iroquois.
[02:26:22]
The one and only.
[02:26:23]
Pliskin.
[02:26:24]
So that would be 29.
[02:26:29]
I have 31 followers right now.
[02:26:32]
I believe you.
[02:26:33]
Follower.
[02:26:34]
I'm going to look at that.
[02:26:35]
I'm going to I'm going to skip 30 really quick because this is the most
[02:26:38]
amazing thing I've ever seen.
[02:26:39]
So 31 is from Turtlesuit podcast.
[02:26:42]
They're a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles podcast.
[02:26:44]
Oh, that's wonderful.
[02:26:45]
What?
[02:26:46]
And they follow the journey of metal.
[02:26:47]
The description on their Twitter like I haven't listened and I'm going to right
[02:26:51]
now, not right now, I'm going to literally right now.
[02:26:56]
But it's their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles podcast dedicated to the journey
[02:27:00]
of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the beginning of Mirage Volume One.
[02:27:05]
So I'm going to listen to that because that sounds rad.
[02:27:09]
Your 30 your 30th follower, Isaac, was from Matt Campbell.
[02:27:17]
Himself.
[02:27:17]
Matt Campbell, Matt Campbell underscore MGS.
[02:27:20]
Their profile picture is liquid metal.
[02:27:22]
Mike's drawing of Verlucovitch betraying Matt Campbell.
[02:27:26]
So this is clearly a listener of our show.
[02:27:31]
Why would he make that his profile?
[02:27:33]
Why would Matt celebrate his death?
[02:27:36]
I don't know.
[02:27:38]
That's like the time I shot in the heart.
[02:27:41]
So he ought to blame.
[02:27:44]
Matt Campbell is following Alessio, Isaac and myself and all of our
[02:27:48]
and all of our geek time Twitter stuff, which is awesome.
[02:27:52]
So thank you, whoever you are.
[02:27:54]
Um, Matt Campbell has one tweet.
[02:27:57]
The tweet is at doesn't have a tweet.
[02:28:01]
I'll be waiting for your first tweet.
[02:28:03]
Hashtag your move.
[02:28:04]
Oh, no.
[02:28:05]
So Isaac, you need a fucking log in and tweets.
[02:28:08]
Listen, great.
[02:28:10]
Which one of you did this?
[02:28:12]
I wasn't sure.
[02:28:13]
Are you sure?
[02:28:14]
I did.
[02:28:15]
I did not do this.
[02:28:16]
I'm not familiar with this.
[02:28:17]
Somebody took this upon their stuff.
[02:28:18]
It was somebody who who likes the Facebook page at the very least
[02:28:21]
because that was the only place we posted Mike's Mike stuff.
[02:28:25]
So it's either Mike or it's somebody who likes the Facebook page.
[02:28:29]
Yeah, I'd prefer to not ruin the magic and think that it's just Mike.
[02:28:33]
And I would like to be somebody else.
[02:28:35]
Yeah, I think it's literally Matt Campbell.
[02:28:38]
Yeah, it is.
[02:28:40]
So Mike, Mike, that wasn't a drawing.
[02:28:43]
The Mike did.
[02:28:43]
It was a it was a picture.
[02:28:44]
It's a photograph.
[02:28:48]
In the morning.
[02:28:49]
Oh, cool.
[02:28:50]
This photograph, every time I see makes me laugh.
[02:28:52]
Christ.
[02:28:54]
Just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
[02:28:56]
So we got to we got to start wrapping up now.
[02:28:59]
Yeah.
[02:29:00]
Yeah.
[02:29:00]
Follow me on Twitter at Sam right DPS where you can email admin at geek
[02:29:04]
ti.me or Sam W I geek ti.me for the stuff.
[02:29:08]
So I am at AC summerfield on Twitter and you can email me at Alessio,
[02:29:13]
which is a l e s s i o at geek ti.me.
[02:29:17]
But I have lost my password for that email address, so it will forward to
[02:29:21]
another one of my email addresses, which I will probably respond to you from.
[02:29:24]
So FYI.
[02:29:27]
And that's been our fucking show, Nick.
[02:29:30]
Just play us out, buddy.
[02:29:31]
What? What can the folks at home not not forget?
[02:29:35]
And I tell you what, I'm going to encourage you to just do it.
[02:29:37]
I normally like do this fucking.
[02:29:40]
This is a long episode and I'm tired.
[02:29:42]
You you have the power to end this.
[02:29:44]
But but for real, you be you.
[02:29:47]
I'm sorry.
[02:29:48]
Why I was looking at my window.
[02:29:50]
I thought I saw something out there.
[02:29:51]
Turns out it was just a box.
