Welcome to Episode 37 of Talking Prisoner. Hosts Ken Mulholland and Matt Batten sat down with the talented Linda Harley who played inmate Rachel “Roach” Waters. Linda has never publicly spoken about her time on Prisoner so it was great to get her insight about the show and her character. Linda has appeared in many well known Aussie TV shows and Movies such as The Bush Gang, Cornflakes for Tea, Home, The Fire in the Stone, Carson’s Law, The Flying Doctors, Breakers, All Saints and well known for her three parts on Neighbours. We spoke to Linda about her time growing up as a child and her love for dancing at a young age and her school life. Linda spoke to us about her time on the Tv shows and Movies she has appeared in and what it is like to be still recognised for her role in Prisoner to this day. Linda is also married to John Clark who was in Neighbours co star Craig McLachlan’s band Check 1-2 and how the two of them met. We also discussed why Linda left the actin industry. Linda appeared in 27 episodes of Prisoner and we discussed her audition for the part of Roach and where the nickname of Roach came from. We broke down Linda’s first scene working with Gerda Nicholson, Lois Ramsey and what it was like to work with Shane Connor who played Bongo Conners. We spoke about the storyline that was proposed by Marie Trevor for Linda’s possible return to Prisoner after she set of on the boat and what it was like working with Ian Smith on Prisoner and Neighbours. Linda spoke to us about what it was like working with Nick Carrafa who played Mick on Prisoner. Linda worked closely with Glenda Linscott on Prisoner and was able to share her memories of working with Glenda on the show and behind the scenes. Linda answered all fan questions.
