Hi Sustainable Friends,

Did you know that women and girls make up 49-51% of Nigeria's over 200 Million Population?  Fabia Ogunmekan shares her fascinating journey in the development space in our podcast titled, Philanthropy: My Passion for Women's Causes.

The Director of  Women In Successful Careers (WISCAR) and Founding Trustee of Imara Foundation with great national pride kept me engaged and wanting to know more about her powerful lineage of strong role models. Today, she comfortably sits on their shoulders and finds time to Pay It Forward as she proffers solutions to some of the development issues evident in Nigeria.

Fabia recently curated a book on behalf of  WISCAR and UN Women called the Sheroes of Beijing, documenting the work of women activists.

Highlights:

Statistics indicate women are still unfairly represented in the corridors of power but are making great strides in the corporate world.

Women are navigating various pitfalls and building inclusive leadership pipelines from the boardroom with inroads into the community.

Leadership comes in different ways. With the right leadership and good governance, the national pride of being a Nigerian will be a badge of honour.

The art of networking and mentorship enables a transfer of a wealth of knowledge and skills that young women can tap into, to unleash, character, capacity, strategic leadership, and much more.

The youth are doing amazing things! Nigerian and African youth will soon become the ones to watch in the innovation, technology, art spaces, and much more.

So much was shared!

Kindly Listen, Enjoy and Share. Thank you.
