Mumma Got Skills: Women's Circle

06. Friends in Work and Motherhood |Britney Staples and Ellie Kersevani

Season 1 Episode 6

Welcome to episode 6 of Women’s Circle! However you have found us, we are so grateful for your time and hope you get a lot out of hearing stories of local women. Today I have the pleasure to speak with Britney Staples and Ellie Kersevani. These two incredible mums work together in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit and went through pregnancy not once BUT twice together. I met these women at one of my first earring workshops almost three years ago and they have come to many since. I have always been inspired by their enthusiasm and excitement for life and just had to sit down and chat to them.

We will be discussing:

-       Pathways to Nicu Nursing

-       Friendship during pregnancy

-       Sharing the mental load with a friend

-       Preparedness for Motherhood

-       Working through comparisons in pregnancy and motherhood

-       Motherhood as a priority over work

-       Knowing yourself and your strengths

-       Self-care as a full-time mum

-       Mum-guilt

-       Separation anxiety

-       Conscious partnerships

-       Empathy and connection in nursing post birth

-       Documenting the birth journey for high-risk pregnancies/ births

-       Sweet reminders for birth

-       Finding your support network before giving birth

Welcoming you to the space.

 Love, Carlie
