And when you're drowning, do you really care who throws the rope? In the depths, you don't just find God, you recognize him, the true one. Maybe for the first time, maybe all over again.

I'm not saying you shouldn't go in, but if you do, draw your lines, hold your ground, because our souls, they're not built for the applause of the world. They're eternal. And this life. It isn't just a career ladder or a highlight reel. We're going to give an account of our lives for what we did with our time, with our hearts, with our calling to God, the path that leads to ruin. It's wide, loud, everyone's clapping. The room is full of applause. But the road to life? It's quiet, it's narrow. And if you want to find it, you have to really want it.
