#110: Bullying: Protect Your Child from Becoming a Victim
In this episode, we talk about something very important - bullying. Yes, it is a very popular topic, but it can be a scary thing to talk about as your child gets older and especially if he or she has special needs. It is a parents worst nightmare to find out that your child has been a victim of bullying, especially if it cost them their life. I was reading the news the other day and saw that one family in my local area had received a $27 million settlement in a lawsuit over bullying death of a 13-year-old Moreno Valley, Ca student. This case has made national headlines because the child was not protected by the school district. Although this family was able to get financial restitution for what happened, no one can ever put a dollar amount on your child’s life. As parents, we need to be equipped with knowledge that will ensure our children are not victims of bullying and that we know what steps to take if bullying is suspected.
