Adult Onset Horsemanship
An informal and candid podcast discussing real world horsemanship with respected and experienced experts. Daniel is a guy who is good with horses. He has a background in cutting where he was predominantly involved in developing aged event horses and started over 1000 head of colts, many of whom went on to win lots of cash. A very bad horse wreck at a horse show, involving his niece, prompted him to begin working with people and showing them a no BS version of how to not get killed by their horses. He's since worked with thousands more horses and people from varying disciplines and breeds including many last chance problem horses. In addition to his general horsemanship knowledge he is an internationally known expert on bits and how and why they function. He has a well rounded knowledge base of horsemanship and is working hard at his communication skills with his own species. His wife is a firm believer that he really likes the sound of his own voice and that is the real reason he's started this podcast. http://dauphinhorsemanship.com/

Ep. 86 Steve Hemphill, Jousting and Medieval Events
Let us know how we're doing. Please understand that we can't reply or see your info.
I'm especially proud of this episode. First of all, Steve Hemphill is an acomplished horseman in his own right and has won tournaments in jousting and taught all over the world. He's even done comentary for television on the topic. Secondly, this episode is completely the result of my youngest son, Colt. He saw a youtube video of Steve (linked below) and thought he'd make a cool guest for the podcast. He asked me if I'd have him on and I made it conditional on Colt reaching out to him, asking him, setting things up, and being my co-host.
Steve Hemphill has produced and competed in a number of medieval equestrian events around the world which showcased competitive jousting and other medieval equestrian sports. He has won multiple individual and team titles in Jousting, Melee, and Skill at Arms in the US, Canada, France, England, and Denmark including a two time recipient of "The Most Chivalrous" award at the European Championships at Spottrup, Denmark.
Steve is also a member of the Board of Representatives (the governing body) of the International Jousting League and a level 4 Jouster with the International Jousting Association. He is the owner of a'Plaissance Ltd., and the executive producer of "Lysts on the Lake", the largest competitive jousting tournament in the world. He's also been dubbed "The Texas Jousting Guru" by Fox Sports Australia for his part in their broadcasts as a Jousting Commentator.
Here's the video that Colt saw of Steve teaching jousting:
