All right, so we are back. And we are testing our audio.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you got new microphones. We're so fancy in here.
SPEAKER_01Well, last week it really bothered me because we had these, you know, these mics that you plug into the phone and everything, and your mic was out. So if you look at the case.
SPEAKER_02Somehow your microphone picked up my voice. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, picked up your voice. And the problem was my voice was so much louder than your voice. So I ended up getting some some new technology.
SPEAKER_02I know, I feel very fancy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean we're actually messing around with our volume knobs, right?
SPEAKER_02You just really want to turn buttons.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But we have headphones on and everything. We're very professional. The professional tire Christian parents, as you what?
SPEAKER_02This is so silly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, it is silly.
SPEAKER_02The adventures that we we decide to do. It's just funny.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01So another this is what episode five of season three. Is it five? Uh yeah. Can you believe it? No. We've made it to five. Yeah. You know what I was thinking about today?
SPEAKER_02Do tell.
SPEAKER_01So this last week, I think we mentioned it on the last on the last episode, but on Monday was my tenth anniversary of post cancer.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And today I was thinking about this. God gives us these experiences that they're really unexplainable unless you experience it.
SPEAKER_03Sure.
SPEAKER_01But so the way I for you know, the way I found out, which w was really weird, I had gone in to get my gallbladder scanned. Not just gallbladder. They ended up uh fortunately doing my whole abdominal area, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, which is unheard of for them to actually agree to do anything.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like an ultrasound. Like that was really hard. Like you could get a CAT scan, but you couldn't get an ultrasound or something. It was weird.
SPEAKER_01And we're in the Army system. And and you know, not to badmouth the army system, but it's just it's a little bit different, and not, you know, American healthcare is not great anyways.
SPEAKER_02But so it sure came in handy though. Yeah. I mean, this time around.
SPEAKER_01I went in.
SPEAKER_02You needed it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I was telling them, telling the doctor that I had some pain in my gallbladder area, but I can't remember how long it was taking. I went in to get an ultrasound and it was, you know, it was like a something like a week, and I called to the clinic, like, hey, you know, did y'all just forget about like it was a long time to kind of be concerned about like what's going on, you know? And the nurse picks up and she's like Oh no, yeah, I forgot about that part. Yeah, she was like, I was at work, and she's like, So she's reading the report. Oh, yeah, no, I've got the report here, it's been in for a little while or something like that. She said something, and she said something like, something about yeah, nothing's wrong with your gallbladder. So I get this like relief, relief, and then she goes, And there's something about a tumor in your left kidney, and then she goes, Oh, I wasn't supposed to say that. And that yeah, like what I mean, heart drop, right? And then she goes, I'll just have to let the doctor tell you.
SPEAKER_02And then she like basically hung up on me.
SPEAKER_01Then she hung up on me. Yeah, and I was like, uh no. Right. So I and I told my boss, I gotta go to the clinic, the army clinic. And I rushed to the to the clinic, and I just forced myself at the appointment window, and I was like, I'm sorry, I need some answers. I was just told I have a tumor in my kidney.
SPEAKER_02And dropped my notebook, sorry.
SPEAKER_01Yep, and I was like, I need to speak to the doctor immediately. I it was later in the day, it was like four-ish, which is pretty late for government work. And so she kind of put up a fuss, but I was like, I was so adamant about it. I was like, I'm sorry. The nurse tells me I have a tumor. I need what's going on, you know, and so I go back there. Anyways, the doctor actually saw me and he was, you know, trying to be positive about what he'd seen on the on the scan. They didn't exactly know what it was yet. And so, of course, I mean, my whole life has changed in an instant, you know, like everything I'm I'm now fallible. I'm now sure, you know, it's very strange. So he's like, We're gonna get we're gonna get a CAT scan for you, and we're gonna actually find out what's going on. And so we're gonna go get you to the appointment lady. And so this is the whole point, is I go to the appointment office, and this is a lady who usually just makes appointments. And she so I go there and I'm just like in shock, honestly. I was like, what you know, I'm just I didn't expect anything like that that day. And so I'm sitting there in the office, and I'm I don't know, she asked me something, she was like, Are you okay? And I was like, Well, I I don't know, I just something about a tumor on my kidney, and and she was so like almost like an angel out of just the a you know, the angel that I needed. She would an older woman and she was so comforting. Yeah, and she was just the appointment lady who didn't deal with people, you know, but she saw the just the heartbreak in my face, and she ended up telling me stories about her husband having, you know, like a kidney thing, and and then it and how it went and it went well, and she just and then she turned to me and she she just held my hand for a second and she just said, Honey, God has you in his hand, or something like that. And it was just so it was so comforting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's just though one of those moments that you know that God puts a person in your life, you know?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So and to think that you can be that person for somebody else going having gone through an experience like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, it's a very life-changing experience. And I was just thinking about her, and I wish I could find who she is. I mean, I'm sure I could go to the clinic maybe and just be like, who's the appointment lady from ten years ago? She's probably not there.
SPEAKER_02Hopefully she's relaxing somewhere after Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she was a little older, so I would imagine she was she is retired or something, you know. Who knows?
SPEAKER_02Anyways, go be that person for somebody today.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, go yeah, be be that person. And I don't know, I was just thinking about and thankful for a person like because I don't like I know that I would have gotten to where I am after everything without her, but in that moment I remember coming home to you and just telling you how I don't know how comforted I was by this random strange. Yeah. So anyways, we have a special, I think, episode tonight.
SPEAKER_02It's super fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you want to tell us what we're gonna do? Because I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I don't either remember more than I do. So I thought this week wait, what's today? The 22nd?
SPEAKER_0122nd, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So next week on the 30th will be our 23rd wedding anniversary. Yay! Clapping hands. It's been super fun, and we've had a lot of different experiences, some more serious like your cancer, and some not so serious, like uh well, some not so serious. I can't think about all of them.
SPEAKER_01Like today, I was thinking about uh so I started using I started using straight razors.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I wonder if anybody will let us know what men out there that listen to this, all eight of you. I'm guessing that eight?
SPEAKER_02It's gone up from three. Last week it was just three. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01We actually have the funny the fun part about this podcast is that this is another thought I had. Okay. I joke about the nine people. I have no idea who listens to this, but or how many. But what is cool is that we're recording this, we're putting it down in in a media space. And if anything, is I'm hoping that our children, when we're gone, listen to you and I talking to each other. Yeah. On a late, you know, right now Saturday night, and just liking to talk to each other.
SPEAKER_02It's true.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02This would be one of the fun adventures.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I thought it'd be kind of fun to kind of go and just ask you questions, questions that you should know about me or I should know about you. Kind of like Newlywed game, but you can't really play Newlywed game because we don't have cards and like that wouldn't work. So I don't exactly know.
SPEAKER_01And there's not a host. There's like a game show host.
SPEAKER_02It's fine.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But anyways, I've got some skits. So love you too, babe. So anyway, I have a list of just random like get to know you kind of questions that we would have maybe I don't know, ever discussed. I feel like we were such good friends before we were engaged or married or actually even officially dating.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That most of this probably would have just come out in natural conversations over the you know the course of four years of getting to know you as just like a best friend. But anyway, that's it. That's all I got.
SPEAKER_01So tonight's episode is going to be a QA. I don't know the questions. Colleen has the questions.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I am supposed to start with the answers, right? I think so. And then then I ask you the same question. Maybe. All right.
SPEAKER_02Let's just see how it goes. Okay. All right. Listen along. QA.
SPEAKER_01Did you want to start before we do that with the thought that you had about Oh. Do you want to go down that road?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Do you want me to?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I do. Okay. This is a so let me let me sorry. So let me preface this. So let me preface this. So so tonight uh Colleen is telling me about a conversation she's had with Jonah, our son, and that tell me if I'm wrong. Okay. But the premise was that the most dangerous or is it dangerous? Sure, we do dangerous. I was saying thing to Christianity.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Is Christianity. And that's the premise.
SPEAKER_02That's the premise.
SPEAKER_01So I thought that was fast. That was the statement.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, well, let's do that for another podcast. But you started introducing it to me that I thought maybe just real quick you introduce it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01We get hardcore for a second.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So I was scrolling at some point last week or something, and somebody had said something like, Oh, yeah, we should just make our nation Christian again, like ha ha, because it's gonna go so well. And they had done a poll on abortion, and they had asked, you know, just different religious, and I don't talk about religion, but affiliation, and they had said, you know, whatever you are, and then they asked, should abortion be legal or illegal? And it was like, you know, most cases or all cases. And in the divisions of the church, I would say Catholicism, Protestant, I think evangelical, and a couple other ones, and then it was divided up into races. And they said basically the bar graph was like not 100% one way or the other, but it was divided as you went down. And what I was thinking is like, yeah, you know, maybe the Protestants think about it less than other ones or Catholics, or I don't I don't remember the numbers. But what was startling to me was that it wasn't a hundred percent in one direction, right? Those that claim no Christianity at all obviously were like, Yeah, it should be legal. And then all the divisions of the church were like at some level of agreement with it could be legal in some cases, and I was thinking that that was so sad. Like, we should be the ones leading the way, going, we are completely different, and you can recognize a Christian, somebody who believes in Jesus Christ, because they totally disagree. It doesn't matter what division you are or how you interpret the Bible or whatever your division of the of Jesus that you want to choose. We should be the ones radically leading the way and being completely different than those in the culture saying differently.
SPEAKER_01Right. And so the obvious statement, I guess, is the ones that are claiming Christianity who also want to murder unborn children are not Christians. Right.
SPEAKER_02And so those are the ones that people are looking at, going, hey, they claim to know Christ, and yeah, they might disagree with like I don't know, little things or big things or whatever that you want to call it, baptism or I don't know, however you want to segregate yourself, but we should absolutely be on the same page.
SPEAKER_01Right. Well, I mean, it's uh testing the spirits, a first John situation, right? So if you want to murder an unborn child and you still claim Christianity, or you have any kind of worldly belief like that, then are you really following Christ? Obviously, you're not. You're not following Christ. So the interesting the interesting thing is like the statistics, like you said, they're skewed. So when you you could you talk about Catholics, Protestants, evangelicals, I don't know. Which I think is silly, of course. I've said this a lot in our house church. Why can't we just be called Christians? Let's just go with what the Bible says. Well, if the Catholics are you said the Catholics are mostly pro-abortion, right?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I didn't look at the division.
SPEAKER_01Right, but the pro or the Catholics, Protestants, those who claimed they were they were they were just separate in the bar graph, and it was like you know, the ones that were saying it should be legal, like it it got less.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry, no, it got more that it should be legal as they went down the graph. So like evangelicals or Protestants, I don't really know. Like they were all kind of like the same, which I don't know. I guess I don't really understand whether why that was divided in the first place, but I don't really understand all the anyways. And then it said Catholics, and I think they believed in it a little bit more than the other two bars or something.
SPEAKER_01I'll tell you, any of the pro whatever, they are not Catholic, Protestant, evangelicals.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I'm sorry, that is a judgment, and I am allowed to do so. Scripture calls us to judge those kind of things. We have to test the spirits. We're not judging their eternal salvation, that's God's job. But zero percent of Christians believe abortion should be legal. Right. Zero percent. If you believe abortion should be legal, you are not a Christian. Yeah. It's just that simple. It was just so zero percent.
SPEAKER_02It was so sad to me because you claim it. You're claiming it, and this person who was posting this was clearly against all Christianity because he sees that we're just the same as the our counterparts, which are not a is that the word I want? The those that claim no belief in anything, like they were way much more in for abortion.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, nothing.
SPEAKER_02But then if you look at any other side, the other side, sorry. But those that claim it at all were very they were less, but why aren't they zero?
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_02That was my point, which is why I'm not bringing up the statistics of like, oh, 82% blah blah. Yeah, like I don't think it should be zero.
SPEAKER_01This is where we have to be. We're talking about being stubborn as Christians tonight. And it actually stemmed around ballet, our ballet class with our daughter and dressing appropriately and all that stuff. So we're not gonna go down that road. We don't have enough time for tonight, but as Christians, we have to be we have to be stubborn in stating our beliefs. And when we walk into a room and we state the gospel, whether what whatever it is, whether it's being modest, like what we're having an issue with with our daughter's ballet, we're very stubborn about that, and people are finding that offensive. And I love it because as Christians, if you are not offending the world with the gospel of Christ, you're probably not. You're probably not I yeah, I don't know. You just you you need to if you're offending people, you're doing the right, you're you're over the target. Let me put it that way.
SPEAKER_02But I want to also, before we get onto the fun part, I mean, I don't know, this is kind of fun, this little debate. Uh when I when I say offensive, it's not like I walk in like, you know, I don't know, like loud and you know, whatever. Like offensive to me is like a very loud person that is just very boisterous and like I don't care what you guys think, I'm just gonna offend you because that's just who I am. I'm just an offensive person. Like that's not it. Like I sit in the in the corner, I watch my daughter, and she's you know, being cute and ballet, and it's really sweet and very classically trained. It's a great program and everything, very happy with it. But as soon as we get into costumes or anything like that, all of a sudden I go, Oh no, I think that she should not be wearing a leotard that shows everything. And then they look at me, they're like, No, but you have to. And I know you said we weren't getting into it, but this is what I mean by offensive.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02I just said, No, I feel like not I feel. I know that she is a godly woman in training, and she doesn't that that doesn't match up to what I'm teaching her at home. She doesn't want to wear that. So why do I have to? I have to because everybody else is doing it, and for some reason, somehow that makes it to where my daughter has to dress inappropriately. Like, why do I actually have to? Like, if anything, y'all should be doing what I'm doing because you are claiming Christianity. I'm not the only one, I'm just the only one going. I don't, that's not appropriate. Yeah, we've done this since baseball where we've said, you know, we're we're not gonna show up when we're supposed when we're we've fellowshipping with our Christian friend, you know, like we're not going to go to a baseball game.
SPEAKER_01Or whatever we tell the coach we can't show up on Sundays. We're with our Christian family on Sundays, and if that's an issue, no problem. You know, we won't play this year. This is and this is a thing, and then they get upset later. Yeah. Same thing with ballet, yeah. So far as there's little compromises that you're already seeing other uh other mothers make, yeah, because that's the uniform, and you're saying no, I'm not doing it.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01And that's great.
SPEAKER_02So when we say offensive, it's not like I'm going in there going, We're Christians and we're you know, but I mean like you're not screaming there, and we are absolutely different.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And that's what I'm trying to encourage worldly offensiveness. No, this is this is Jesus flipping the tables in the temple offensive.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I don't know if that's no, it's not really flipping tables, it's just like saying this is obvious.
SPEAKER_02Like, obviously, my my daughter shouldn't be wearing that, and neither should yours be, because you are a Christian like me, I thought. Yeah, but then because they cave in, now I'm the outsider and I'm the weird mom that's like no, I love that you're the weird mom. And I don't mind being a weird mom, but this is what I mean by being offensive. Like, why are we so scared to just say no?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, grow a pair and act like a Christian. And then when it comes to the channel, grow a pair and act like a Christian.
SPEAKER_02But like sometimes it comes down to like when we did baseball, they'd be like, Well, then you know, he's gonna get benched. Okay. I mean, if that's what you need to do, that's fine.
SPEAKER_00This world is not my home. I'm just a piss.
SPEAKER_02Like, we're just we're still not gonna be there. And then of course they played him.
SPEAKER_00I don't really care about baseball.
SPEAKER_02It's like fine.
SPEAKER_01We're really here for you.
SPEAKER_02Like, it's fine.
SPEAKER_01And like should I keep doing my parody?
SPEAKER_02I love it. Anyways, that's what I mean by being offensive. Just y'all, come on.
SPEAKER_01It's okay. Absolutely. Well, you're and you're equating offensiveness to how the world says offensive. Offensive is like the wrong thing. No, offensive is just. Following the gospel for Christians.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And following the gospel is offensive to the world. And it should be making us happy. Yeah. When we're persecuted. This is persecution. Yeah, it's just it's a small amount of persecution.
SPEAKER_02It's okay.
SPEAKER_01It's great.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's wonderful. Should encourage you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01All right. So let's get to QA.
SPEAKER_02We're three minutes into the Yikes. Okay. Well, then you can just cut me off and be like, that's enough questions for the diary.
SPEAKER_01No, go for it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01I'm excited. I have no idea what's coming. Let's see what happens. I'm kind of concerned.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Let's just do like rapid, rapid fire questions. Okay. Rapid fire. Or dog.
SPEAKER_01Dog.
SPEAKER_02Duh.
SPEAKER_01Now we have a cat that we really like right now.
SPEAKER_02I do like him.
SPEAKER_01We named him after one of the five kings. And Genesis, Cheddar Laumer.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01We name him Cheddar. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And he's an orange cat. He's our bird barn. He's kind of works. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Crunchy peanut butter or smooth.
SPEAKER_01Crunchy.
SPEAKER_02Duh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, that was kind of nervous there.
SPEAKER_02I know, right? All right. How do you like your eggs?
SPEAKER_01How do how do you like your eggs?
SPEAKER_02See, this is what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01Like format.
SPEAKER_02Okay, how do you think I like my eggs?
SPEAKER_01I think you like them scrambled.
SPEAKER_02I do.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. How do you think I like my eggs?
SPEAKER_02Over easy. Yep. Fried and over easy with some butter. Ooh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01With some butter and basil. Or is it basil? What's that herb you put on it?
SPEAKER_02Time usually. Oh, I love that dar.
SPEAKER_01I love the time. Fried and the basil.
SPEAKER_02Or not the basil. The butter. Fried in the basil. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Fried in that basil butter.
SPEAKER_02Okay. What temperature do you like your steak or burger?
SPEAKER_01Medium.
SPEAKER_02Medium, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Same.
SPEAKER_01I'm trying to work. I would love to work towards a medium rare, but I just don't I don't have it in me yet. It's a texture thing for us. I think so.
SPEAKER_02But you changed that about me. I used to eat it well done because that's how I grew up. It was always well done.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then you're like, no, it's tastier this way. And you were right. And I changed very quickly. That did not take any coaxing. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01Well, well done is just a ruined steak.
SPEAKER_02Well, I know that now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Don't eat your steak. Well done, y'all. There you go. If you get nothing else out of this podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yes, that's right.
SPEAKER_02Hot coffee or cold coffee.
SPEAKER_01Hot, generally, right? But we're getting we just tested cold coffees.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we did the cold brew.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So on the hot day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. When it's hot, I like cold brew.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Was it did I answer that right?
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah. We both drink since you started roasting. I now drink it black. But before it would have been with cream.
SPEAKER_01That's true. So that's changed too. Do you think that that is because you're more of a raw milk girl now? I am. Yeah. You try and stay away from any kind of preservative type situation.
SPEAKER_02I feel so much better. That's a whole nother conversation.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02All right. Sweet, salty, or sour.
SPEAKER_01Well, what's the s what is the no you get no context? Really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01No context. Sweet. So overall. Overall. Everything food. Every sweet, salty, or sour. Yeah. Whoa. What do you reach? Sweet. Really? I'm going sweet with you.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. I thought you heard you.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, No, no, no. With you. Yeah, totally.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Right? Yeah. Yeah. What do you think? About me. Salty. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm a savory kind of fella. Not so much with the sweet.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Although sour? What's sour?
SPEAKER_02Um, like grapefruit. I love grapefruit.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you do at breakfast. You're a big grapefruit.
SPEAKER_02Big frit fruit.
SPEAKER_01Kind of kind of weird.
SPEAKER_02I guess we probably could have left it as a question.
SPEAKER_01If I could eat breakfast breakfast.
SPEAKER_02I love grapefruit at breakfast.
SPEAKER_01That's yeah. I don't. It's my favorite. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I peel it like an orange.
SPEAKER_01Grapefruit's great for you. I wish they should call it grapefruit. It's great.
SPEAKER_02It's great fruit. Okay. Okay. Favorite restaurant. Now that one's tough.
SPEAKER_01That is tough. Favorite favorite like in our town. Favorite restaurant.
SPEAKER_02No, it can be like if you could like, you know, get in your helicopter and fly us to this restaurant. That would qualify.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I would go with McDonald's.
SPEAKER_02You stop it.
SPEAKER_01I'm going to go with your favorite. Your favorite restaurant is Miyako sushi.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, yeah, I like that one.
SPEAKER_01But that's not the right answer.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if I have a favorite. I don't think that's fair.
SPEAKER_01That's not fair for you to be like, what's my favorite restaurant? Then be like, I don't know what it is.
SPEAKER_02I don't think fair. You figured that out really.
SPEAKER_01Figure it out for me, weirdo.
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_01I really like I was gonna say miako or char. You like charge. I do like a good steak.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, any restaurant that just this is so simple, serves food. Like real food. I don't care what kind of food it is. If it is real, I love it.
SPEAKER_01So there's a a burger place in our in our city called Peppered Pig, and they cook everything in beef tallow.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's so good.
SPEAKER_01And their burgers are incredible. Incredible. So good. Their fries are beef tallow cooked, you know, so no seed oils, nothing like that. Anyways, very good. So that was one of them. That's your I think that's your favorite burger place.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Okay. But sushi place, miyako, right? Yeah, definitely. Yeah. I don't have a favorite restaurant. I I like kind of like very few.
SPEAKER_02I like Valentina's for pizza.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we talked about that last week for pizza. That's our favorite pizza place. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But we have like favorites that like we visited over our travels and stuff, like Xenodoa down in um Virginia.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That was special.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Xenodoa's very good.
SPEAKER_02Because once again, real food.
SPEAKER_01Real food.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Just food.
SPEAKER_01I served the food from this the farm that my our son is working at now. So good.
SPEAKER_02All right, here's another favorite treat. It can be a guilty pleasure too.
SPEAKER_01I guess. Treat. Favorite treat, tiramisu for you.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like a good one, like an actual one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Did you have an answer or did you not know?
SPEAKER_02No. I would say that's pretty accurate.
SPEAKER_01Favorite treat?
SPEAKER_02I like ice cream too. Like when we go to the creamery. I think you like your chips.
SPEAKER_01Nope. It's ramen. Ramen noodles. I like ramen noodles.
SPEAKER_02Sorry. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01I like ramen noodles. I like the chicken flavored ramen noodles. So bad. I haven't had any in a long time.
SPEAKER_02There's a reason.
SPEAKER_01Oh, they're like 18 cents a piece. I don't actually know what they cost now, but okay.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_01That's my favorite treat.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's a fun story for later of why we don't allow you to have ramen.
SPEAKER_01I think I might have told that in season one or two.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Go back, listen to all of them, and let us know. You back check us.
SPEAKER_01I almost died from ramen noodles. If we want to tell that later.
SPEAKER_02Which time? All right. Morning or night owl.
SPEAKER_01What is that? Morning person. A morning person.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I am.
SPEAKER_01What about me?
SPEAKER_02You're a night owl.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, baby.
SPEAKER_02We have some opposites.
SPEAKER_01This is how much of a night owl I am.
SPEAKER_02Stumped.
SPEAKER_01I've just turned into an owl.
SPEAKER_02Favorite sport to watch.
SPEAKER_01Favorite sport to watch for you?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh. You don't. I mean, I think you watch sports every now and then because we kind of watch sports. I think it's baseball.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But you didn't like baseball before you married me.
SPEAKER_02It was the most boring sport ever.
SPEAKER_01But you don't watch sports at all.
SPEAKER_02No, I watched football and hockey.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's true. Football and hockey. Yeah, I actually got into watching Michigan football with you and some Red Wings hockey with you back in the day when they were really good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, before they started changing all the rules and when they can actually hit the game.
SPEAKER_01My goodness for the games. Be men.
SPEAKER_02So good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know, there's this dude who's like making fun of the WNBA now, how they're trying to put trans guys into the sport. And so he's like, All right, I want to play for the WNBA. I'm going to call myself a woman. He's he's obviously messing around, but he's doing it for a reason.
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_01He's like making a point. Like, you want to just let any dude who wants to act like he's a woman go play in the women's basketball league? So silly. So he's a former NBA player. And he's like, hey, and he's not even changing his appearance or anything. He's like, I want to play for WNBA. I'm a woman. And they're not letting him. So he's suing the WNBA. And he's saying, Wait, what are the standards then? Right. If you're not going to let me play, why are you going to let that dude play just because he has long hair and claims he's a woman? I don't have long hair and I'm not changing my appearance. I'm claiming I'm a woman for the and so like they're not answering them. It's obviously we're living in a clown world. Clown circus. Circus. Whatever it is. It's a circus. Next question.
SPEAKER_02All right. Moving on.
SPEAKER_01Wait, what's my favorite sport?
SPEAKER_02Oh, baseball.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, baseball.
SPEAKER_02Duh.
SPEAKER_01Like baseball.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you've converted me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Steak and baseball.
SPEAKER_01Steak? Yeah. I have to convert you with steak.
SPEAKER_02Well, like how to cook it properly. Yeah. You make a really good steak.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Favorite pizza toppings.
SPEAKER_01Favorite?
SPEAKER_02Or doesn't have to be plural. It can be one. I suppose you're going to be able to do that. Do you like black olives? I do like black olives.
SPEAKER_01And you like green peppers. And you kind of mix it up with your meats. I think you would probably start with pepperoni.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then you would go to sausage. All right? Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_01So you you like those.
SPEAKER_02I do. And you just like all the meat. And pineapple.
SPEAKER_01I like you're just gonna get punched in your face.
SPEAKER_02Double pineapple for you.
SPEAKER_01Well, a long time ago when I was in the army, we we recorded a video where I we went to Mellow Mushroom or something up north when I was when we were up in North Country in New York. And I wanted to try sardines on pizza. You remember?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It was horrible.
SPEAKER_02It was disgusting.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness. Yeah. And I, you know, I don't get it. So I don't think a lot of people eat it for obvious reasons.
SPEAKER_02Anchovies, that's a different story.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, not sardines. Anchovies. Yeah. Same thing.
SPEAKER_02Anchovies, when cooked right, they taste like nutty. But I don't think you got yeah, no. No, they did not. Mellow mushroom. It was a higher end pizza. But you really gotta like treat them right.
SPEAKER_01It was gross.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, it was gross because you tried it and I was like, no, this is real bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Anyway.
SPEAKER_00Next question.
SPEAKER_02Next favorite school subject. Like, you know, back in the day.
SPEAKER_01For you. My favorite school subject for you back in the day. Back in the day. Before I knew you, back in the day.
SPEAKER_02Points because there's like a tie.
SPEAKER_01History.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What would be the other one?
SPEAKER_01Science? Yeah. Really?
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01Okay. What about my favorites?
SPEAKER_02Math.
SPEAKER_01No, my favorite school subject was. You were good at math, though. Yeah, I didn't have reset.
SPEAKER_02No, you're just at work. That was nonsense. No, I I did not like math.
SPEAKER_01I was a math math guy. I didn't like math.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You're good at math. Okay. You're very strategic.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Next, next question.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay. Next question. What is the first thing you do in the morning?
SPEAKER_01I rip a big tooth. That's for you. Hold on. The first thing you do in the morning? Make coffee. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. No doubt. I somehow crawl to the coffee pot and press power.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And we are if you don't do it, I do it. So that's the same answer for both of us.
SPEAKER_02Start the coffee.
SPEAKER_01Right after the two.
SPEAKER_02For you, maybe. Okay.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_02So that was page one.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_02I hope I don't. I really I was just kidding. All right. If you had $20, what would you buy?
SPEAKER_01Uh I would buy six packs of black and wild cigars. Black and wild cigars. No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_02Um I was like, I think so. Is he serious?
SPEAKER_01If I had 20 bucks, 20 bucks. That was it.
SPEAKER_0220 bucks.
SPEAKER_01What's that? No other context?
SPEAKER_02Nope.
SPEAKER_01Just 20 bucks. And buy something? Sure. This is a hard question. Why?
SPEAKER_02This is 20 bucks.
SPEAKER_0120 bucks. And it was just something like for me.
SPEAKER_02Sure. Someone gives you 20 bucks.
SPEAKER_01But I'm answering for you.
SPEAKER_02Oh yes.
SPEAKER_0120. Ancient grain flour.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, that'd be yummy. I know I would. I would totally buy groceries. One time my aunt sent me birthday money. And I kid you not, I was so excited. I went to the grocery store and I just normal groceries, not like splurging groceries. I just bought groceries. But I like to cook, so it was a present. But she was not happy because I was supposed to buy ice cream.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I know she listens to this, so sorry about that, but it's so much fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Now what's my answer?
SPEAKER_0220 bucks. That is a tough one. Why did I ask this? Moving on. I was kidding. I think I think you would like go to one of your favorite lunch places or something and just have a meal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02By yourself.
SPEAKER_01There's a local cafe I really like called Bubbies.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_01Bubbi's good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I think you would take 20 bucks and you just go to Bubbies.
SPEAKER_01A few minutes go to Bubbies. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Is that right? Is that the right answer? Yeah. Should I give you 20 bucks and see what happens?
SPEAKER_01Let's see what happens. Okay. I might go buy some old cigars. Oh, I would just buy cigars.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, obviously. Dear. Okay. Ba-da-da-da. Okay, here's a a seriouser one. Okay. Seriouser. It's getting late. So that's what you get.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_02Okay. As we head into our 23rd wedding anniversary, if we were to write a volume two of our marriage for the next 20 years, what is one adventure, goal, or simple dream you'd love to prioritize for us to do together?
SPEAKER_01I would like to open a coffee shop with you and work there with you, just you and I, where we make simple foods and everything is good for you foods. Simple, like there's like three things on the menu or whatever. Three things and and coffee with raw milk as the cream. And and no just just a nice place for people to visit. Somewhere where Bibles are around the place and people can open a Bible and coffee shops are such I don't know why, but they attract the more liberal crowd. I would like to make a place where Christians can go and have a quiet place and visit and it not be a crazy experience.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I'd like to do that with you where we just make good food and good coffee together and we're together all day.
SPEAKER_02Nice.
SPEAKER_01For the next 20 years.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So like every Sunday. As we do.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. At home. Yeah. With our housers. That's right. So same question to you.
SPEAKER_02Oh. See, when I wrote these, I did not think about me having to answer them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's the trick. The trickery.
SPEAKER_02See, here's the other trickery.
SPEAKER_01What do you want to do with me? What would I enjoy?
SPEAKER_02Okay. So here's here's the problem.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02Is that you are the dreamer of this duo. And I am the yay, let's do that.
SPEAKER_00That's true.
SPEAKER_02So like to think ahead 20 years is really difficult for me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because I just I don't naturally I don't know. I I dream. Like I have I have dreams. I have dreams. But I don't like like that. Like I don't dream like that.
SPEAKER_01I just kind of I think that's a whole other really good topic to speak on because as a Christian woman, as a prover Proverbs 31 woman, you're managing what you've been given. And it doesn't require that you dream outside of that. Right? Yeah. It it requires that you manage what you're given in that space in a godly way. And that doesn't look like what the world tells mothers they should look like. And so you've done that so well that you're not looking like, what could I do for myself?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because that's what I think that's what m modernity says for women is how do I please myself?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so your husband, which is me, that's you. I go out and I I work and I dream and I create and I allow, not allow, I but I do, I do allow, but I uh love that you can manage what we have here in a godly way. And you do that with our children. You've done that with our children for many, many years. You do that with our food, you do that with our land, you do that with our business. I don't think a lot of people understand how much you have to do with my coffee business.
SPEAKER_02I'm behind the scenes. I write I write notes a lot.
SPEAKER_01You're behind the scenes, but you're so integral into all of my ideas. Like I run all of I run everything by you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's super fun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And s but the thing is, like, you're not dream now. You send me stuff, like you send me great ideas, and you kind of you you I don't know, I don't want to call it manufacturing. Yeah, you navigate kind of like my where I should go with that. You give me good input, you give me good advice. And so if I didn't have you, I wouldn't have a successful coffee business, coffee recipe. And so the thing is you're so you're so dedicated to your home and your children and me that you're I think happy and joyful in that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so you're not saying, man, when I'm done with this, you know, nonsense, I'm gonna go and start a you know, I'm gonna sell weed to people.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_01That's not what you think. No so the tiredness.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But yeah, no, that's that's absolutely true. Like I am meant legal weed.
SPEAKER_01Like legal, like like you know, these days you could live in Seattle and you could just sell gummy bears with with weed in it.
SPEAKER_02Can I ask you another question? Because you were just not gonna stop. I've got to navigate the situation. So we were actually talking about this a little bit ago. I don't know if you remember, but I was like, man, I think it would be really fun if like you know, we got locked in a like a Walmart, it doesn't have to be Walmart, but like a Walmart type place. Because like you have everything. You've got groceries, you got a way to cook them, you've got a bed or a couch, you got kitchen stuff, whatever.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So like this is the question. Okay, if we were trapped in a grocery store overnight, and this can be you get to pick the grocery store that you're stuck in. Okay. What would be our specific roles, like the take charge person of like, here's what we gotta do first? Okay, yeah, and what is the exact end of the night snack we'd be eating?
SPEAKER_01Whoa. So is this like an end of the world scenario? Like we're locked in the store.
SPEAKER_02Well, this is my this is my question. So you get to do whatever you want.
SPEAKER_01Zombie, there are zombies.
SPEAKER_02You get you have to decide. This is your role. Like you get to decide.
SPEAKER_01I love end of the world.
SPEAKER_02If you want zombies in this scenario, let's have zombies, babe.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. So like we're stuck in a a grocery store because everybody's been killed by a virus. Okay. Oh man, I love it. I love the whole world's dead at this point. It's just you and us.
SPEAKER_02Just you and us.
SPEAKER_01Man, you and us. This is the best person ever.
SPEAKER_02I know, right?
SPEAKER_01I th now why are we locked in the in the store though? If everybody's dead in the whole world, help me out with that one. Somebody lost the keys, the manager died.
SPEAKER_02Because you locked us in be to save us. To say I saved you saved the day by locking us into Walmart.
SPEAKER_01I'm a saver.
SPEAKER_02You saved us. You strategized. You're like, guess what? We've got to go to Walmart.
SPEAKER_01No, uh why I would say Walmart.
SPEAKER_02Walmart's such an easy Can we upgrade? Yeah, we can go wherever you want. Let's go to Wegmans.
SPEAKER_01Nobody knows Wegmans.
SPEAKER_02But they should.
SPEAKER_01What's that? What's that? Place out in mid-city. Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's. If you don't want to do Trader, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean it's your question.
SPEAKER_01Like, let's all right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, it's I did give your permission to publics.
SPEAKER_01You bought a bed. That's I fell sleepy just answering this question. You said there were beds in the grocery store.
SPEAKER_02No, that's why it's such an easy pick.
SPEAKER_01That's an IKEA with broccoli.
SPEAKER_02An IKEA with now there's an idea, y'all.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um business. I I don't even remember your question. What was it?
SPEAKER_02Okay, so we're trapped.
SPEAKER_01Trapped.
SPEAKER_02Okay, what is the role that you're gonna take on?
SPEAKER_01What is the role that I'm gonna take? I'm going to I can do anything I want. Everything said the zombies all took over my role. And then what okay. And then what was the second part though?
SPEAKER_02That's oh, and then what's our end of the night snack?
SPEAKER_01End of the night snack. My role is to make sure I go. Oh, say Walmart, because Walmart's better for my my answer. You can just Walmart has typically has weaponry of some kind. So my role is to go find the correct weaponry to protect us in case one of the zombies gets in. And you know, they used I don't know if they still do sell guns. I don't think they do anymore. Bunch of sissies.
SPEAKER_02No, maybe we need to be locked in like a Cabela's or something.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, but they don't have groceries.
SPEAKER_02They don't, they have those nasty preservative budge whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So I would let's say it's a Cabela's with groceries.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, I would load up so hard.
SPEAKER_02Why doesn't Cabela's have a grocery store? Come on.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness. Upgrade. I would be in Dream City. I would have so many weapons ready to go.
SPEAKER_02And we'd have the ATVs that would be.
SPEAKER_01And then the end of the night snack after I protected you from all the zombies would be. That's a tough one. End of the end of the night snack? Like. Yep. What is it? Help me.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so let's just say if this is a Walmart or something.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Has to be a snack.
SPEAKER_01Snack.
SPEAKER_02We're we're gonna watch a movie on a on the big screen of the TV that we're gonna plug in or something. I don't know. But let's just say that this is like a for real legit Walmart. We need masa chips.
SPEAKER_01Massa chips is not sold in Walmart.
SPEAKER_02I know that's why I had to preface that by it is like legit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It needs to upgrade to masa's.
SPEAKER_01Well, it'd be like a fresh market situation, then yeah. So masa is beef tallow chips.
SPEAKER_02Organic tortilla chips.
SPEAKER_01Organic corn.
SPEAKER_02They have this one that's like kind of tastes like Doritos, but like good.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, it's so good.
SPEAKER_02So good.
SPEAKER_01Cabanero. That's what it's called.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yum, yum, yum. Healthy Doritos. Well, you know.
SPEAKER_01That's all your questions?
SPEAKER_02That's it.
SPEAKER_01That's very good. So next week we are actually celebrating our 23rd anniversary. We're gonna be gone on the weekend. So next week we are off. So it'll be two weeks until the next episode of Tiger Christian Parents releases.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01Is that your questions? That's everything. I think so. That's all of it. Okay. It's time to sleep.
SPEAKER_02Night night.
SPEAKER_01Nighty nighty. Yeah, I'll go to bed now.
