He received his MDiv and ThM from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC and is currently working on his PhD in Systematic Theology there as well. He has over 13 years of hands on ministry experience, 10 of which he worked directly with youth. In the last 6 years T. S. Myers has served as an ordained pastor. Thank you for joining us as we begin our sermon series through Titus. This series was preached by Pastor Myers at Momeyer Baptist Church in 2025, when he served as their interim pastor. In this sermon, Pastor Myers emphasizes that God sometimes gives us hard assignments and that doing the right thing is often difficult, yet we must grow where we are planted. Timothy was also given a hard assignment by Paul, and he was able to walk in confidence because he walked in God-given authority. In this sermon, we learn that Timothy's assignment was to remain in a difficult situation, to command certain people not to preach false doctrine, and to put God's house in order in Ephesus. This passage reminds us that God is working for the advancement of his Kingdom, that Timothy was a steward of God's house, and that he needed to do God's will God's way. Timothy's whole goal in ministry was to advance God's Kingdom. Advancing God's Kingdom can be hard, but when we remember that God's power is backing us and that his house is in order because we have obeyed his assignment, we see God's power at work and the fruit that comes with it.
