This is such an interesting topic, and one that I knew next to nothing about before speaking to John and Alex. It really challenged a lot of previously held assumptions that I had, and I'm sure you'll have a similar experience.
John's background is a GP, whilst Alex is an anthropologist. They conduct research together, and it was amazing to get their different perspectives on each question due to their different clinical backgrounds. John and Alex will be keynote speakers at the "Preventing Overdiagnosis 2023 International Conference", which I'm hopeful i will be able to attend!
We speak about what overdiagnosis is, practical examples, why it is harmful to our patients, how physios can avoid overdiagnosis and deliver high quality care, and much more.
