Both my"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":290.66,"endTime":293.9,"body":"parents were raised on farms."},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":290.66,"endTime":293.9,"body":"They did not continue farming"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":293.9,"endTime":299.12,"body":"themselves, but I was able to"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":293.9,"endTime":299.12,"body":"spend quite a bit of time on my"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":299.39,"endTime":304.25,"body":"maternal great grandparents"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":299.39,"endTime":304.25,"body":"operation they had livestock,"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":304.28,"endTime":310.64,"body":"and did corn, alfalfa soybeans."},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":304.28,"endTime":310.64,"body":"And, you know, growing up in a"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":310.64,"endTime":315.32,"body":"town of less than 2000 people,"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":310.64,"endTime":315.32,"body":"almost all the cultural events,"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":315.32,"endTime":318.68,"body":"seasonal activities, were all"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":315.32,"endTime":318.68,"body":"sort of dictated by agriculture."},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":319.37,"endTime":323.0,"body":"Definitely picked up a lot of my"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":319.37,"endTime":323.0,"body":"values and a lot of my sense of"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":323.3,"endTime":326.99,"body":"community and sense of where we"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":323.3,"endTime":326.99,"body":"kind of fit in the world through"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":326.99,"endTime":332.3,"body":"those early experience. Moved"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":326.99,"endTime":332.3,"body":"away from that small town and"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":332.33,"endTime":336.95,"body":"went to college and ended up as"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":332.33,"endTime":336.95,"body":"a licensed therapist. And I did"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":336.95,"endTime":340.01,"body":"that. And I've done that for 20"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":336.95,"endTime":340.01,"body":"years, I've worked primarily"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":340.01,"endTime":344.51,"body":"with adolescents as my main"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":340.01,"endTime":344.51,"body":"clinical population. But to do"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":344.51,"endTime":346.43,"body":"that effectively with"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":344.51,"endTime":346.43,"body":"adolescents, you really need to"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":346.43,"endTime":350.66,"body":"work with the systems around"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":346.43,"endTime":350.66,"body":"them. So worked a lot with, with"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":350.66,"endTime":354.53,"body":"families, with community members"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":350.66,"endTime":354.53,"body":"and stakeholders around those"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":354.53,"endTime":359.18,"body":"youth and been able to do it in"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":354.53,"endTime":359.18,"body":"North East New Mexico and some"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":359.18,"endTime":362.87,"body":"pretty rural areas where a lot"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":359.18,"endTime":362.87,"body":"of people there, traced their"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":362.87,"endTime":366.86,"body":"land back to Spanish land"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":362.87,"endTime":366.86,"body":"grants. And so that was kind of"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":366.92,"endTime":370.76,"body":"a different land constellation,"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":366.92,"endTime":370.76,"body":"then, then what I grew up with"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":370.76,"endTime":375.14,"body":"in Nebraska, and then worked in"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":370.76,"endTime":375.14,"body":"a worked in residential"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":375.14,"endTime":378.5,"body":"settings, worked in correctional"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":375.14,"endTime":378.5,"body":"settings and worked in home"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":378.5,"endTime":382.49,"body":"settings, going into the family"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":378.5,"endTime":382.49,"body":"homes, and helping equip parents"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":382.49,"endTime":386.6,"body":"to develop skills to help their"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":382.49,"endTime":386.6,"body":"kids from prevent their kids"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":386.6,"endTime":388.97,"body":"from getting further into like"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":386.6,"endTime":388.97,"body":"system involvement with legal"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":388.97,"endTime":393.59,"body":"difficulties and whatnot. And I"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":388.97,"endTime":393.59,"body":"had an opportunity, so this"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":393.86,"endTime":399.95,"body":"position come available through"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":393.86,"endTime":399.95,"body":"CSU. And I kind of felt like"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":399.95,"endTime":402.53,"body":"after 20 years of working"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":399.95,"endTime":402.53,"body":"specifically with adolescents, I"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":402.53,"endTime":405.08,"body":"paid off my karmic debt for my"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":402.53,"endTime":405.08,"body":"teenage years, and I might be"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":405.08,"endTime":408.38,"body":"ready to make a shift and also"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":405.08,"endTime":408.38,"body":"saw it as a chance to give back"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":408.38,"endTime":412.34,"body":"to the community that and the"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":408.38,"endTime":412.34,"body":"culture that gave so much to me."},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":412.34,"endTime":417.2,"body":"And so was really fortunate to"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":412.34,"endTime":417.2,"body":"be able to come on and have just"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":417.23,"endTime":420.53,"body":"thoroughly enjoyed it. I see my"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":417.23,"endTime":420.53,"body":"task and my responsibility is"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":420.53,"endTime":425.75,"body":"looking at how can we help"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":420.53,"endTime":425.75,"body":"improve access and availability"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":425.78,"endTime":429.08,"body":"of quality behavioral health"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":425.78,"endTime":429.08,"body":"services specific for farmers"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":429.08,"endTime":432.11,"body":"and ranchers. I don't think that"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":429.08,"endTime":432.11,"body":"we often view that group as an"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":432.11,"endTime":436.79,"body":"underrepresented population, but"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":432.11,"endTime":436.79,"body":"the fact that it does require"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":436.79,"endTime":440.24,"body":"some pretty significant cultural"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":436.79,"endTime":440.24,"body":"awareness, and cultural"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":440.24,"endTime":443.12,"body":"competency and responsiveness in"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":440.24,"endTime":443.12,"body":"terms of being able to serve"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":443.12,"endTime":446.51,"body":"them well. And I think there's"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":443.12,"endTime":446.51,"body":"some incredible strengths and"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":446.51,"endTime":450.65,"body":"some incredible challenges"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":446.51,"endTime":450.65,"body":"within that community and just"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":450.65,"endTime":453.47,"body":"starting to, I think scratch the"},{"speaker":"Chad","startTime":450.65,"endTime":453.47,"body":"surface of what we can do. When we, we"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":467.18,"endTime":472.55,"body":"have challenges and that mindset"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":467.18,"endTime":472.55,"body":"that the resolve to to figure"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":472.55,"endTime":475.07,"body":"out what needs to be done. But"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":472.55,"endTime":475.07,"body":"when it comes to the mind,"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":475.07,"endTime":477.74,"body":"sometimes it's really hard to"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":475.07,"endTime":477.74,"body":"figure out what's going on in"},{"speaker":"Thao","startTime":477.74,"endTime":485.21,"body":"the mind.
