In today’s episode, we discuss what Paul meant when he said that younger widows had cast off their faith. Once they did this, then they became idle, gossipy, and meddlesome… sounds like a great group of women, huh? Some of them were possibly even involved in “curious arts.” Paul commanded the younger widows to remarry, bear children, and guide the home to avoid reproach. We stress reading the scriptures in their proper context and applying them accurately. We finish by debating whether the “elders” of verse 17 are older widows, elderly people, or ministers. We encourage you to study God’s Word with us today!
