The Nightmare Road

We’re taking a little trip to Germany in this week’s episode, so pack up your lederhosen and dirndls and crosses to ward off evil. Yes, it’s that kind of story. “The Nightmare Road,” by Florence Crow features a young man on a road chock full of ghoulies and ghastly sights. I looked into German folklore and found several nasty creatures, including several who lure and drown people and a bevy of different kinds of witches. But one jumped out at me (pun intended) as the most pertinent to our story. Enjoy
