Iain Hunter

Dr. Iain Hunter is in his 25th year as a biomechanics professor at Brigham Young University
specializing in distance running mechanics, footwear technology, and steeplechase technique.
He currently serves as the Chair of Sports Science for USA Track and Field, focusing his
expertise particularly on steeplechase athletes. In 2009, he became the oldest winner ever of
the St. George Marathon at age 38 and, in 2023, was ranked #1 in the world for marathon
runners over age 50 by Abbott World Majors.
