The Churches of Africa must embrace Life-affirming practices; and welcome the assets and leadership of women, while fighting all forms of violence against women in Africa, says Prof Dr Isabel Apowo Phiri
Prof Dr. Isabel Apowo Phiri is an outstanding African theologian, writer, ecumenist, and global leader. She is a Presbyterian and currently the Deputy Secretary-General of the World Council of Churches. In this episode, she speaks on the synodal process going on in the Catholic Church. She calls on the churches in Africa to embrace life-affirming practices and reject all life-denying cultural, institutional, and denominational practices that harm God's people. She makes a strong case based on theological anthropology on why women's leadership at all levels of the life of the church in all denominations should become normal. Her cry and call for an end to violence against women in Africa and anywhere in the world are both moving and compelling.
