A quiet truth powers this conversation: writing a book is only half the work—bringing it to the people who need it is the other half. I walk through the path from private pages written for healing to a public launch designed to serve clients in grief and the advisors who guide them. Along the way, I unpack how to ask for help without feeling self-conscious, why a launch team turns readers into advocates, and what happens when gratitude replaces hesitation.

Join my launch Team:  Launch

I  dig into the practicalities of a mission-led launch: setting a clear runway toward the release date, inviting early supporters with an advance reader copy, and offering real value through a private training called Being Present When It Matters Most. That training blends personal experience and professional practice, including a case where coordinated presence changed a family’s final days for the better. You’ll hear how simple, steady actions—language, timing, documentation, and emotional cues—can transform the advisor-client relationship during the hardest moments of life.

If you’ve ever wondered how a book about grief and finances can feel both deeply human and rigorously useful, this is your blueprint. I share what we learned from publishing partners about marketing that respects your audience, how early reviews shape a book’s impact, and why community is the best amplifier of hard-earned wisdom. For anyone navigating loss, or any advisor determined to show up with skill and heart, you’ll leave with concrete steps to get involved, learn, and lead.

Don't forget to..........

📖 Join my Launch Team for my upcoming book, Life After Grief: Holding the Numbers with Shaking Hands.

As a launch team member, you’ll:
• Get early access and behind-the-scenes insights
• Help spread a message that brings comfort and courage
• Be part of a community that speaks honestly about grief
• Play a meaningful role in helping this book reach the people who need it most

If you believe grief deserves tenderness, truth, and a voice — I would be honored to have you on this journey with me.

Hello and welcome back to another episode of Real Talk with Life After Grief, Chris. Today's episode is going to be a unique one. It's going to be on some marketing stuff that I've learned and picked up. So, again, the spirit of this season is about the launch of my first book. This episode is going to be dedicated all about the launch and some of the things that I've learned. And in some later episodes, you're going to hear, in terms of my experience as an author, that's kind of weird to say Chris Dale, an author. I'm actually pretty proud to say that. What I've learned is that writing a book is, in my opinion, not necessarily the hardest part. And I think for me, it's not the hardest part because I have a passion and I have a lot of experience to kind of lay out. And I wrote about all of this experience as, you know, part of therapy over the last 10 plus years, just getting stuff out of my mind and clearing my mind. And when I came to the point of actually writing and kind of completing the book, my research, one of the most important aspects was this idea of marketing and how you do that. And in my due diligence with some publishing partners, it was very apparent that there was a strong emphasis on marketing. And I embraced that and I allocated some specific resources to do that. And one of the resources, which is pretty cool, it's all about this thing. It's called the launch. In my layman terms, the launch is getting folks excited and letting them know that you have this book that's coming out. And a lot of authors fear, you know, telling a lot of people, asking for them to write reviews and, you know, giving some feedback and, you know, being a part of the journey. But what I found, and I was coached through this, that a lot of people want to be a part of the process. A lot of people want to support you. A lot of people want to recognize the good things that you do. And if anyone knows me, I'm not in this work to get recognition. I'm in this work because I really have a passion for what I've experienced and the learning and the growth that I've also experienced at my hands and also at the hands of so many others that have helped me through my journeys. And to have other people want to support me in that journey is simply amazing. And I'm reading some of the notes on some of the folks that have already joined my launch team. You know, Chris is a great person to be able to write this book. Chris is a great person to be able to get a message out here. Chris is a great representation on bringing light, on, you know, really helping folks in grief and also helping to train the folks that help them. It's pretty cool to have people, you know, want to be part of that and understand that. So some of the formalities of the launch, so to speak, is this ability to be able to join my launch team early on. And so I started this process uh probably two or three weeks ago. And today is February 5th or February 6th. And my launch party is going to be on Wednesday, April 29th. I have a runway up to that point, you know, getting some energy behind it, gathering a lot more interest than I initially thought, a tremendous amount more. So I had to prepare for that. And then there is a specific training that I'm going to be doing that is for only members, special members that have joined the tr the launch team. And it's called Being Present When It Matters Most. And this isn't a training like no other. I can pretty much guarantee that. And it's based on personal and professional experience and helping a client through stages of life and then even to their last days. And what that looks like, you'll hear someone that was intimately involved in the process in regards to someone that was close to a client of mine and that this impacted them in a very, very positive way. You'll also hear a resource that I learned about after this experience that I had with this client. So a lot of good information is just really cool. So I'll have an advanced reader copy for people that are going to be part of my launch as well, and some other perks that will be offered uh during the process. This is fun for me. I I am I feel like I'm kind of in a groove now. Things are kind of rolling where I've been through so much tragedy and trauma. And I can look back with kind eyes on myself, you know, say that you've been through a lot of stuff, but you were on to life after grief. So hence the name of my company. The question's been asked how do you join my launch team? And the answer is if you're listening to this podcast, you can go to my consulting site, which is called lifeaftergriefconsulting.com forward slash launch team. This information will be in the notes. Again, it's life aftergriefconsulting.com forward slash launch team. Here you're going to get information in terms of how to be on the launch team and how you can get access to an advanced reader copy, how you can leave a review. That's how I make myself better. And I'm really excited about this process. And the folks that are around me are excited about this process. I never would have thought in a million years a kid in college who didn't like to read coming to the point where I can say proudly that I am well read now, and to the point where I've actually just coming upon writing my first book. Man, that that's that's pretty cool stuff. I hope you're able to join the LaLaunch team. Look forward to it. Look forward to comments as well. And if you like this episode, please feel free to pass this one on to any friends, family members, or colleagues. Cheers, be well. See you in the next episode.
