Join Breeza and Maso each week for some booze free banter about life without booze - being sober isn't boring! They will be bantering on about their past relationship with booze, why and how they cut out booze, and how good life really is without booze. The girls will educate you, shock you, and humour you as they share their stories and those of others who are living a sober life. What they won’t do is lecture you like your parents would have when you snuck out of home at the age of 15 and had a skinful of passion pop. Booze Free Bants with Buddies - Joe Williams, sober for 17 years

Joe is a proud Wiradjuri, 1st Nations Aboriginal man born in Cowra, raised in Wagga NSW. Joe played in the National Rugby League for South Sydney Rabbitohs, Penrith Panthers and Canterbury Bulldogs before switching to professional Boxing in 2009.

His drinking and illegal drug-taking helped him escape and numb, but things got out of control. A conversation with a mate on a bus changed everything for Joe. He walked into AA, and put down the bottle and illegal drugs. Joe has been sober for 17 years.

In 2009 Joe was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, hearing those words made sense to him. After a suicide attempt in 2012, Joe felt his purpose was to help people who struggle with mental illness.

Now a published author, Joe’s autobiography ‘Defying The Enemy Within’ shares not only his life’s story but offer’s practical tools anyone can implement into their lives to improve and maintain their emotional wellbeing. He does a lot of work in the trauma space and is always prepared to have the 'uncomfortable' conversations that most of us dodge, he certainly went there in this chat.
