And my mindset was that because I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":332.06,"endTime":336.8,"body":"was a really great employee would be a really"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":332.06,"endTime":336.8,"body":"great entrepreneur, like I really came in like"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":336.8,"endTime":345.98,"body":"guns, a blazing tons of confidence, to have it"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":336.8,"endTime":345.98,"body":"smashed, like, lightly smashed right away. I called"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":345.98,"endTime":351.56,"body":"myself a starving entrepreneur, like a starving"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":351.59000000000003,"endTime":357.08000000000004,"body":"artist to kind of explain it to people. And, you"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":351.59000000000003,"endTime":357.08000000000004,"body":"know, really, I was trying to take what I did in"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":357.08000000000004,"endTime":362.45000000000005,"body":"corporate, which was doing consulting and brand"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":357.08000000000004,"endTime":362.45000000000005,"body":"management for the beauty industry for like"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":362.45000000000005,"endTime":368.09000000000003,"body":"cosmetic brands. I tried to do the same kind of"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":362.45000000000005,"endTime":368.09000000000003,"body":"thing on my own. And the reality was, I knew"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":368.09000000000003,"endTime":373.61,"body":"nothing about entrepreneurship, I knew how to do"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":368.09000000000003,"endTime":373.61,"body":"all the things and be working my way up a ladder,"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":373.61,"endTime":377.75,"body":"proving to people that I knew so much so much. I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":373.61,"endTime":377.75,"body":"didn't know much about leadership, I didn't know"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":377.75,"endTime":384.02,"body":"how to work smart. I didn't know any of that"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":377.75,"endTime":384.02,"body":"stuff. So 14 months after living with my in laws"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":384.02,"endTime":390.23,"body":"and feeling like just so financially frustrated, I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":384.02,"endTime":390.23,"body":"still didn't want to sacrifice my freedom, because"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":390.23,"endTime":395.6,"body":"the real motivating force for me was having"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":390.23,"endTime":395.6,"body":"freedom. Like I didn't want to be dict. I didn't"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":395.6,"endTime":400.22,"body":"want it being dictated to me when I had to work"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":395.6,"endTime":400.22,"body":"where I had to work all those things. So I had"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":400.22,"endTime":404.66,"body":"learned a little bit about the virtual assistant"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":400.22,"endTime":404.66,"body":"industry. And so I decided, you know what, I can"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":404.66,"endTime":410.99,"body":"go out and I can get a client that way. And so I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":404.66,"endTime":410.99,"body":"got my first virtual assistant client and quickly"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":410.99,"endTime":417.56,"body":"realized that I didn't want to do the stuff he was"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":410.99,"endTime":417.56,"body":"asking me to do. So I grew a virtual assistant"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":417.59000000000003,"endTime":422.51,"body":"agency because when you have a virtual assistant"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":417.59000000000003,"endTime":422.51,"body":"agency, you can take on clients doing all kinds of"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":422.51,"endTime":429.2,"body":"different things and outsource them to a team. So"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":422.51,"endTime":429.2,"body":"I grew that team. So we started got our first"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":429.2,"endTime":437.87,"body":"client in 2016 and in 28 by 2018 we He had done"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":429.2,"endTime":437.87,"body":"our first $100,000 within like a 10 month span."},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":438.05,"endTime":442.64,"body":"And I had really built the business to run like a"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":438.05,"endTime":442.64,"body":"well oiled machine, it was something I was really"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":442.64,"endTime":447.35,"body":"proud of actually going from that like struggle"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":442.64,"endTime":447.35,"body":"position to figuring out how to do something that"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":447.35,"endTime":453.83,"body":"functions well. And what I realized was that I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":447.35,"endTime":453.83,"body":"wanted to get out and start talking to people"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":453.83,"endTime":458.57,"body":"about what I had seen both in like my"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":453.83,"endTime":458.57,"body":"entrepreneurial struggle, some of my"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":458.6,"endTime":462.77,"body":"entrepreneurial success, and now like all the"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":458.6,"endTime":462.77,"body":"clients that we were seeing as well, because I had"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":462.77,"endTime":467.12,"body":"a back seat and what was working well, for clients"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":462.77,"endTime":467.12,"body":"what wasn't working well. And oftentimes the"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":467.12,"endTime":470.54,"body":"people that on the surface, you would think things"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":467.12,"endTime":470.54,"body":"were going really well behind the scenes they"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":470.54,"endTime":474.65,"body":"weren't. And then on the surface, the ones that"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":470.54,"endTime":474.65,"body":"you're like, really is that business really making"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":474.65,"endTime":479.36,"body":"money, we're doing very well. So I was seeing lots"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":474.65,"endTime":479.36,"body":"of different perspectives, and I wanted to start"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":479.36,"endTime":486.11,"body":"talking about it. So I told my team, I want to"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":479.36,"endTime":486.11,"body":"start talking on podcasts. In my, in my mind, this"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":486.11,"endTime":491.09000000000003,"body":"was like the first step to just kind of doing like"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":486.11,"endTime":491.09000000000003,"body":"some public speaking, it felt like a lower barrier"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":491.09000000000003,"endTime":496.82,"body":"to entry, I didn't have to leave my house, I still"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":491.09000000000003,"endTime":496.82,"body":"have a lot of freedom, yada, yada. Well, six"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":496.82,"endTime":502.34000000000003,"body":"months later, after I you know, propose this new"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":496.82,"endTime":502.34000000000003,"body":"idea to my team, I had not pitched myself for a"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":502.34000000000003,"endTime":510.23,"body":"single podcast, here comes the mindset junk again,"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":502.34000000000003,"endTime":510.23,"body":"I had a lot of imposter syndrome. You know, I had"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":510.23,"endTime":514.9100000000001,"body":"built a website with or I had built my business"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":510.23,"endTime":514.9100000000001,"body":"with zero social media presence and a really bad"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":514.9100000000001,"endTime":520.22,"body":"website. It just, they just weren't the things"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":514.9100000000001,"endTime":520.22,"body":"that I needed to be successful. And I kept"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":520.22,"endTime":525.23,"body":"thinking in the, in the moments when I would"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":520.22,"endTime":525.23,"body":"consider pitching myself that nobody was going to"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":525.23,"endTime":531.35,"body":"think that I was successful because of what they"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":525.23,"endTime":531.35,"body":"saw online. So fast forward six months, I hadn't"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":531.35,"endTime":535.9100000000001,"body":"pitched anybody. But I wanted to get on podcast."},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":531.35,"endTime":535.9100000000001,"body":"And my team finally said to me, Kristen, how about"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":535.9100000000001,"endTime":540.77,"body":"we just pitch for you because you're obviously not"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":535.9100000000001,"endTime":540.77,"body":"going to get done? So my team came to my rescue."},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":540.77,"endTime":545.78,"body":"And very quickly, they started booking me on"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":540.77,"endTime":545.78,"body":"podcast, like they didn't have that those"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":545.78,"endTime":551.75,"body":"reservations that imposter syndrome that I did."},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":545.78,"endTime":551.75,"body":"And so I started going on podcast. Well, I don't"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":551.75,"endTime":556.7,"body":"know if it was six months, nine months after"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":551.75,"endTime":556.7,"body":"starting the podcasting. Starting to be a podcast"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":556.7,"endTime":562.73,"body":"guest myself, what I realized is it had become our"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":556.7,"endTime":562.73,"body":"most effective marketing strategy. This was now"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":562.97,"endTime":568.37,"body":"driving clients, our business. So it wasn't what I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":562.97,"endTime":568.37,"body":"intended to do, like I intended to just kind of be"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":568.37,"endTime":573.3199999999999,"body":"philanthropic, I think is the best way to explain"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":568.37,"endTime":573.3199999999999,"body":"it. I just wanted to kind of share what I knew"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":573.3199999999999,"endTime":577.97,"body":"with people to kind of help them. But what ended"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":573.3199999999999,"endTime":577.97,"body":"up happening is it started attracting people to my"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":577.97,"endTime":583.4,"body":"business. And so we then started doing the same"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":577.97,"endTime":583.4,"body":"thing for our clients getting them booked on"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":583.4,"endTime":587.06,"body":"podcast, because we thought, you know, this is a"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":583.4,"endTime":587.06,"body":"we can't keep this a secret, this is really"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":587.06,"endTime":593.06,"body":"amazing. And after finding out that it was an"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":587.06,"endTime":593.06,"body":"effective strategy for our clients to finally I"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":593.06,"endTime":597.38,"body":"was able to niche down my services, I'd wanted to"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":593.06,"endTime":597.38,"body":"do that. But I didn't really know how I wanted to"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":597.38,"endTime":601.73,"body":"do that. And then it became You know what, this is"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":597.38,"endTime":601.73,"body":"the only thing we should be doing for our clients"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":601.73,"endTime":606.29,"body":"because we control the results, we can make"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":601.73,"endTime":606.29,"body":"promise it while not control the results. But we"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":606.29,"endTime":611.3299999999999,"body":"can make promises that we believe in, we know how"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":606.29,"endTime":611.3299999999999,"body":"to get the results for our clients. So around"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":625.34,"endTime":632.0,"body":"Fall, fall of last year. So that's all we do. I love it. Here's what happened. The people that have"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":1376.46,"endTime":1382.46,"body":"the bigger podcast, and that they're just focused"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":1376.46,"endTime":1382.46,"body":"on those numbers, they don't oftentimes have a lot"},{"speaker":"Kristin Molenaar","startTime":1382.46,"endTime":1388.19,"body":"of room in their network for you. We went in and rewrote her pitch. Okay, so now we can move on.
