When we set out on this podcasting journey in the Fall of 2021, we wanted to "show off" our home, Garrett County, MD...We wanted to highlight what makes our mountains and our lake and the people here so special! One of the things our area does so well is cultivate creative, hardworking folks who come together and make things happen. And those who put together the beloved Garrett County Celtic Festival are a wonderful example of that.

Friendsville Community Park, Friendsville, MD
Celebrating the Celtic culture, which runs thick through the ancestry of those who came to Appalachia before us. The festival began as the McHenry Highland Festival and eventually evolved into what it is today. Pipes and drums concerts, multiple stages, kids activities, Irish dancing, educational workshops, and food, drink and art vendors...it's all happening in the Friendsville Town Park on June 4, 2022! You'll hear all of that and more in this episode thanks to festival organizers, volunteers and musicians who contributed their info, stories and music to help make the episode possible.
