Andi Turner and Garrett Fulce discuss the drama surrounding the Texas Young Republican Federation (TYRF). They highlight how the chairman of the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) endorsed a non-Texan candidate for national chair and campaigned against the Texan candidate at the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) convention.
This led TYRF to disaffiliate from the RPT.
The hosts also discuss the controversial meeting between Defend Texas Liberty (DTL) strongman Jonathan Stickland and Nick Fuentes, a known anti-Semite, and bigot. Garrett and Andi criticize and condemn the decision of DTL to associate with such individuals and call for the return of donations received from DTL
In addition, the hosts provide an update on the Education Savings Account (ESA) bill in the Texas special session. They explain that the current version of the bill includes provisions that would provide additional funding to school districts for students who are homeschooled or attend private schools. They discuss the potential impact of these provisions and highlight the ongoing negotiations between the House, Senate, and governor.
