Just after Valentine’s Day in 2010, Lee County Sheriff’s office deputies received a call from a mother wanting to do a welfare check on her 37 year-old daughter, Dawn Lofton.
A few months later, her fear would turn to reality, as Dawn Lofton’s remains were located in a wooded area off of State Road 82. Dawn was last seen at her boyfriend’s house on Penny Drive in North Fort Myers.
Lofton’s killer is still among us and someone may know more about what happened on Penny Drive on that chilly February morning.
Listen to Dawn Lofton’s episode of Seeking Closure: Lee County’s Cold Cases. Help us get justice for Dawn and closure for her family. You or someone you know might be able to help detectives close this case and help us find the answer to who killed Dawn Lofton.
