In the sultry summer heat of July 15, 2020, the vibrant Lani Kai Resort on Fort Myers Beach pulses with life—palm trees swaying, neon lights glowing, and the salty air thick with music and tropical cocktails. But in a flash, gunshots shatter the night, claiming the life of 22-year-old Johnny Jackson, a beloved son, brother, and Dunbar High School athlete from a family of six, while wounding two others.
