Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:

What's up?

Speaker 3:

Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight podcast.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, how's everybody doing tonight?

Speaker 4:

Doing well. How about yourself? Yeah, we're good.

Speaker 1:

I've got some good news. I'll get to that here in a little bit. Last week we had Mike from Beautiful Golf Courses on. I want to thank him here in a little bit. Last week we had Mike from Beautiful Golf Courses on. I want to thank him for hopping on the show. That was awesome hearing all about the auction, which is live right now. So if you need that link, go to Beautiful Golf Courses on Instagram. Check out last week's show. It's in the show notes on YouTube. Show notes aren't on iTunes but on YouTube full description of everything and how you can get into the auction. But I didn't get all our thank yous out last week so I wanted to make sure I led the show off this week with that.

Speaker 1:

Special thanks to our sponsors and supporters the Golf Stop Roars Golf, las Vegas Golf Superstore. We talk about them every week, except last week, so everybody knows who they are by now. So if you have not, please check out those people. They'll be in the show notes. Check out their websites. Go visit the Golf Stop. Go hit up Las Vegas Golf Superstore Our ad will run later on today, black Friday coming up and then also shout out to Scott Russo from Unwritten Law for allowing us to use the harmonic intro. They were in town Friday night and I talked to we may be thinking about going, but yeah, I had fittings on Friday and then I had to go to Mesquite on Saturday and it was going to be a long day. I'm like not doing it. Sorry, I was in bed at eight o'clock Friday night. So, with all that taken care of, how you guys, how's the mood, how's the mood in the households this evening?

Speaker 5:

it's good, we're good, very good, we're good, all right, yeah it's been a busy week so far and it's only tuesday, yeah, but uh you've got some busy time coming up yeah, I got a bunch.

Speaker 1:

I got a bunch of time coming up it's time to so hang out with some horse shit, yeah cowboys, cowgirls, yeah jeremy did you get booted to the basement? Were you in a new spot tonight?

Speaker 4:

I'm in joy's office tonight. Yeah, okay, I got kicked out of my office, so I like it like it.

Speaker 1:

At least there's something behind me yeah we're gaming in here and you're annoying us with your golf talk, so go away, right, yeah? Yeah, pretty much all right. So a couple things we're going to talk about tonight. There's some news stories that are hitting the wires. Uh, tiger woods is not playing at the hero. He sent out an apology on on about that. Phil and Grant Horvat are going to be playing some 2v2 series. Sergio apparently paid his fines to the DP Tour and reapplied for status, so I don't know if that means his live career is done or the live players are allowed now to play in DP Tour. So that was kind of interesting to see what happens with that.

Speaker 1:

Bryson is on day 15 of his hole in one over his house challenge. Which, holy crap, is that blowing up 2 million views each, each reel? It's just absolutely ridiculous that I mean wow, that's impressive, that's impressive. And you know what? It's fun to watch. Yes, it's fun to watch. So now the everybody well, I mean mean, we got to give some love to hitchhike. He's been doing it longer than anybody else, um, and he's actually out on a golf course trying to do it with a real golf ball on real golf course conditions. So, um, not that hitting, you know a wet shot over your house is.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I would be nerve-wracked to do that, especially with all that glass but, a lot of glass, but bryson's kind of a skilled player, so, uh, I think he's fine. Uh, then we played some golf at angel park. Uh, chat a little bit about that. And then the good news we can lead off with this. I guess I got my mri results from last week back. I do have another tear of my meniscus in my right knee, not as severe as the one in the left knee, but, uh, I did get clearance to have both knees repaired the same day, so I don't have to go back in the beginning of 2025 to have that done and miss another two to three weeks of golf. Uh, so I'm happy about that.

Speaker 1:

Next Friday is my surgery day. So I've got, with Thanksgiving and everything going on, this week no time to golf, but next week looking to get out, maybe once or twice to conclude the 2025 golf season, 2024 golf season. So, other than that, let's see, what do you want to? What do you want to lead off with? You got anything that you, you, you find in there that you find interesting. That's topic that's worth a talk.

Speaker 4:

I thought the I thought the phil mickelson, grant horvat thing was interesting. I I watched his the video yesterday, the first video, first part, on grant's channel, and I'm let me tell you I've never been a youtube golf person. I I it was just so cringy before I couldn't take watching it. But man, I am like obsessed with the brian bros, grant horvath major series. I don't know if you guys have seen those, but those videos are awesome. Yeah, like paying for beth page and dude, you got to watch them. Like when, when you're not playing golf after your surgery, you got to, you got to watch them. Oh yeah, I'm going to be digging into some YouTube.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, some of the best golf YouTube I've ever seen. I think a lot of those guys have stepped up their game and the quality is just. It's amazing. So highly, so highly recommend how?

Speaker 1:

how's the the production, though? Is it good?

Speaker 4:

oh yeah yes like they.

Speaker 4:

They've paid. I think they've had seven. They played seven major courses and so they'll. It's like a cut series, so they'll find out what the cut was at the last major they played there and then they try to beat it over two days. So interesting watching wesley bryan talking as a tour player and george is incredible and grant horvath's really good. So it's fun to watch them kind of try to play a major venue in pretty tough conditions. So that's fun. But yeah, phil and grant horvath, that's going to be interesting. I I'm curious who they're going to play.

Speaker 1:

I don't really care to see a lot of celebrities or non golfing athletes play, but I, I think the world is getting is like, finally getting to the point of like okay, we're done with the celebrity stuff. You know, it didn't work for Kamala in the presidential race. It doesn't work on tv for golf. Let's, let's let the professionals showcase their skill sets. I mean the, the event that happens up in tahoe, totally fine, with one celebrity golf tournament where they're actually playing golf. I can handle that. But these, these matches and all this stuff with the celebrity, it's got to stop. It's got to stop, it's got to stop. So hopefully, yeah, they're picking out a pro and a semi-pro and going at it on some places. Yeah, bryson has taken 120 shots. I posted the 90th today, got a chance to best a US Open champ. Yes, you do, sir, yes you do.

Speaker 4:

So I got a question for HesherHack. I was sort of a late uh follow, but uh. So I haven't seen all of the shots. But I'm curious do you go out and play and you just record the par three, or do you go out and just play a par three, because that's a lot of golf if you're playing around?

Speaker 1:

yeah, he posted a video the other day how close it is from his front door to the golf course okay so yeah it's.

Speaker 2:

I mean it's a like a 30 second walk yeah it's, yeah, it's close

Speaker 1:

and uh. So I mean he, I don't know if he's you know, he'll have to answer that yeah, it made me.

Speaker 4:

I was thinking last night as I was driving somewhere. I'm like that would be so fun to do one of those hole-in-one challenges, but I'm like I I don't know where we would do it like to rent out a par three for a day and just hit as many shots as it takes yeah around here.

Speaker 1:

It'd be tough, but well, what we can do is, once summer hits and there's no school in session, we can go put a a grain down on the school behind my backyard and we'll just hit shots over the fence into the school maybe what we could, we, what we should do, is see if we can go out to boulder creek and make a part three on that practice screen and see how many shots and we can record it and do some like thing where people can donate to a charity or snga or something or we can go out to the remnants of the falls golf course out at uh

Speaker 1:

at uh vegas and one of the old, uh, one of the old holes, and just do a makeshift you know from a hole that used to be real. All right, uh. So I live next to the course I work at I play four rounds four times a week. The rest is just fun out of okay, nice yeah okay, well, that's gonna be exciting when it happens. It'll happen, it's still a real golf shot, though it's not.

Speaker 4:

Yeah it's not a pitch and putt it's not a par three course.

Speaker 1:

It's a par three that you are playing on a real golf course so I I much respect for you for going this long and still doing it. The anguish has to be just, I mean, as as close as you've come.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes it's like wow, wow yeah for sure, joe, if you guys, uh, that are watching on YouTube, you don't see Joe in the green room there. Uh, he's a little delayed. He will be here eventually, eventually, but he's just a little bit delayed. Yeah, we can talk as much mad shit about him as we want. He can't rebuttal until he gets back on here, so Bryson's thing that he's doing I don't know if you guys have watched them all, or, dan, I know you're not a big IG guy, but should somebody be clearing the balls?

Speaker 5:

I did see. I did see the episode where he had like two possibly could have gone in.

Speaker 1:

They would have could have rolled in.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, and you would think so as a matter of fact, I think, aaron, even left a comment about saying that and it happened. So, yeah, I mean when, when you're as dialed as that guy is, yeah, you gotta have somebody clearing that shot because he can. He can literally hit the same spot if he wants to, and he did that video three times. So yeah.

Speaker 1:

So do you think he's like, well, I've done this many days with it not clearing, do I?

Speaker 5:

so I have to continue, or do I start clearing it now and if it happens, someone's gonna talk shit, but he still made the shot yeah, I mean he's gonna have to clear it eventually because if it just gets to the point where he's down like day 35, 45 and he's taking all the shots, you're not gonna make it. When you have 40 golf balls within five, you know five to ten foot ring of the of the hole it's gonna hit. Let's either fly into one of the golf balls or it'll never have a chance unless he dunks it so yeah, here's the next question if he doesn't make it, what?

Speaker 1:

when does he stop? Because there's got to. There's going to be a time when you're not going to go out there and hit a hundred golf balls, you're just, you're not going to do it.

Speaker 5:

It's you're not, but also that guy's a psycho so he might he. I wouldn't put it past him if it's like day 264 and he's out there fucking smashing 264 wedges. You know he's a psycho oh, that is funny but I don't think it's gonna take that long. I mean he he should have three by now. He's had two hit the holes like I bet you in the next like two weeks he gets it I bet you the one, the one today that popped out was uh oh brutal, yeah, but yeah, I, I, I see it happening soon.

Speaker 1:

But also part of me wants, wants to see him hit 100 golf balls. You know when he gets up to it day 100, it's not easy I mean there's a lot of luck involved. There's a lot of skill in I mean there's a lot of luck involved. There's a lot of skill in a hole-in-one. There's a lot of luck that has to happen, and so it'll be interesting to see how long he goes on with this. All right, that's that. Anybody surprised at Tiger?

Speaker 5:

No. It's not surprising anymore he should just honestly as much as we love Tiger.

Speaker 1:

I think it's just time, just pull the pin.

Speaker 5:

At this point we love seeing him come back in the tournaments. We know he's going to miss the cut or withdraw, depends on how many bogeys he makes on Friday. But yeah, I mean, just call it a career. You're the GOAT, go out on top.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, play Augusta, you know, play the Open when you want to. Yeah, and you know, if some miracle happens and you have your A game for four days at Augusta, you get one more major tie, jack, and be good to go. And just right off into the wind we were talking about this at Angel Park who we consider the best, and I said Tiger, jeremy, what did you say?

Speaker 4:

Tiger.

Speaker 1:

And Dan, you agreed right, tiger, yeah. But then Dan and I both said at the same time almost you know, jack has how many second-place runner-ups.

Speaker 5:

It was 27, wasn't it?

Speaker 1:

I can't remember, or 17.

Speaker 5:

Or 17 or 18, I think it is second-place finishes.

Speaker 1:

It's ridiculous how many? Second-places.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, stat guy get on that.

Speaker 1:

It's ridiculous how many runner-ups Jack has in majors. I mean it's absolutely ridiculous to think that. But you know it still goes to show he he how many he won. You know it's that's the 19, 19, 19 runner-ups.

Speaker 4:

God damn that's crazy. Next is Phil Mickelson at 12. Yeah, wow, that's that's crazy. The next is Phil Mickelson at 12.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, wow, that's a lot.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You met half of those. If he wins nine of those, that puts him at 25 majors, I mean, then there would be no debate. There would be no debate. I mean a debate, I mean a lot of people still think there's no debates.

Speaker 5:

You know, they look at the major, they look at the major mark and that's like the, you know the, the echelon of what great golf is. And if he didn't, if he didn't pass the majors, then he's not the greatest. But I didn't get to see jack play. Obviously I mean it was the twilight of his career. I mean I remember him playing, him playing, but it wasn't the 50s, 60s, 70s, jack, where most of his career flourished. But watching Tiger and watching how Tiger won and how he annihilated everybody and how you could literally see fear on people's faces when he was in that tournament or he was making a charge, or just I mean he was so dominant that it's hard to deny that he's not, to me, so dominant.

Speaker 1:

In my opinion, he is the greatest golfer not to mention on the wins.

Speaker 5:

Was he at 82 right now?

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 5:

You know 82 wins. And how many majors does he have? 15? 15. He comes up a few majors short of Jack. The extra 40 wins he's got on. Jack works too, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yep, yep, yep, jeremy, you're scowling at something. What is it?

Speaker 4:

I was just thinking like what are the other ways you could compare jack and tiger? It's like if you look at how different the courses are nowadays I mean back then it was slower greens and I don't know that the length probably is similar, but courses are definitely faster and harder and I would say longer. Now they've lengthened a lot of the courses. The field I mean the field was there's, the fields were packed back then, but it was only a few really big names. But this I mean with with Phil and BJ and Jim Furyk and all those guys that were just constantly like if Tiger wasn't winning, it was one of those guys oh yeah basically, so yeah.

Speaker 4:

I don't know. That's a tough one. It's. It's. A lot of people are passionate about the side that they pick, so it's.

Speaker 1:

It's really a toss-up, but it just depends on how good of a golfer career-wise I mean, he's still really good, but matt kuchar and tiger wasn't around yeah you know, if tiger wasn't there, matt kuchar, I mean, would have been like the dominant player vj would have been dominant for years I mean he was, but was, but what about Sergio?

Speaker 4:

Sergio always lived in the shadow.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's true, that's true.

Speaker 5:

They all lived in Tiger's shadow.

Speaker 1:

Hey good segue to Sergio Jeremy, have you by chance popped up and looked for that article and seen anything yet?

Speaker 4:

I was just looking for it. I actually thought that. I mean because there's other players that have been playing, like terrell hatton has been playing in those dp world events. So I don't know if they've come to an agreement where, okay, yeah, they can play, or maybe they have some arrangement. I don't know. Let me see if I can figure that one out. But I would be surprised if he was coming back full on. Don't they have to repay?

Speaker 1:

He repaid his fines.

Speaker 4:

they said he doesn't have to pay that money back to Liv.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. I don't know if he's no longer with Liv. It didn't say anything about what. I saw him leaving Liv. It just said that he paid his fines and was reapplying for status on a DP World Tour which makes him eligible for the Ryder Cup.

Speaker 5:

So there's actually nine guys, according to this article, that are on live, that can now play, that are joining DP World Tour in 2025. So that's Tyrell Hatton, john Rahm After he gets done paying some shit Adrian Maroc, dean Burmester, joaquin Neiman, thomas Peters, patrick Reed, lucas Aver.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I think they're just playing both.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, it says 9 live golf stars Joining DP World Tour in 2025.

Speaker 1:

Wow, so do you think this is part of the new that's going on um?

Speaker 5:

maybe they were pretty adamant, like the pga tour, that you, you pick your bed and you lie in it yeah, I think a lot of it could have to do too with um easier to get like rider cup eligibility and President Cup points again, you know. So hopefully something comes soon, though, because something's got to give. They need to get these guys back and you know it needs to be the best, need to be playing the best again. I hate this division it's stupid.

Speaker 1:

It's absolutely stupid. I have yet to see any news on Liv's schedule after the first four events next year because the vegas event hasn't been announced yet if they're coming back here or not. They already are not going back to nashville, um, so don't know what is happening with that would be nice, I mean, we had we had a good time out there. I haven't seen it pop up yet. They only have the first four or five events of the season and Vegas was in the beginning. Last year it was Super Bowl.

Speaker 4:

I think they've released more.

Speaker 5:

They have Korea in May, Dallas in June, Andalusia in July, UK in July, Chicago in August, Indianapolis in August, and then it looks like they got some stuff in Riyadh and Adelaide, Mostly international yeah, they just released it a couple weeks ago. It looks like. Singapore. Hong Kong yeah, it looks like they're doing a lot of international.

Speaker 1:

But Vegas, no, vegas, no Vegas just.

Speaker 5:

Dallas and Chicago right now.

Speaker 1:

Very interesting, very interesting.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, very interesting Indianapolis.

Speaker 4:

I can't remember, but was the live event during the Super Bowl last year? Yeah, same week, that's right.

Speaker 1:

Thursday, friday, saturday of the Super Bowl. Or was it because they didn't play Sunday, right? It was Thursday, friday, saturday, right, yeah? Or was it because they didn't play Sunday, right, it was Thursday, friday, saturday right, yeah. Wasn't it? Or did they play on Sunday?

Speaker 4:

I don't remember. Yeah, I don't remember either. I think it was Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was out there a lot, but I don't remember. I don't think they played, I think they knew.

Speaker 4:

I think, they knew. I think they knew. Yeah, it was Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Speaker 1:

Thursday.

Speaker 4:

Friday, saturday, yeah, Maybe they'll throw it in at the end. Maybe it's going to be part of the fall series for them. Let's, it is a void now.

Speaker 1:

I would love to see them do it. You know, april, may, when the weather is amazing and not cold and windy like it was give that that rough, some, uh, some sun to grow and not be so cold and make it a little bit more challenging for them out there to grow and not be so cold and make it a little bit more challenging for them out there. I want to see those. I want to see those fairways narrowed, like so high did. Uh, oh, dan, you got a high Dan. On Instagram from Jenna face.

Speaker 5:

Oh, Jenna.

Speaker 2:

Yep, Hi Jenna.

Speaker 1:

Okay, oh, jenna fazy. Yep, hi, jenna. Okay, so I I was hoping joe was on here by now, but he's not, so I know he's listening. Um, we, we were out at angel park, uh, sunday morning, had a nice early 7 10 tea time and uh, it's a little chilly. We were we're expecting, you know, maddie g kind of let us down a little.

Speaker 1:

Uh, weather forecast wasn't on point. Uh, for this weekend I was. I was told high wind warnings and cold. On saturday and I got out to mesquite and it was beautiful 78 degrees and not a mile per hour of wind a little overdressed for the situation, but uh, may do, may do. Um. So we got out there, the weather it was like it's a little chilly in the morning, but, man it. It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day, just a little bit of wind, not much. Uh, chill was gone by three or four holes and we had a really good time. You know, we we don't get to play as a group as much as we would like, which, you know, in 2025 we're going to try to commit ourselves to playing more with each other because, uh, man, that was fun I needed I needed a fun outing no pressure, no tournament, no vgn, just let's go have some fun with the boys and man.

Speaker 1:

I think we had a really good time out there.

Speaker 4:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, shout out to Darden man.

Speaker 4:

The course was phenomenal.

Speaker 1:

It's in excellent shape. Now the things that he can't control.

Speaker 1:

There was a ton of ball marks, a ton of ball marks. I mean it was, like you know, lexington 2.0. Really, i've've played the times I've played out there I hadn't seen that. So I don't know if they're just getting overrun with play. It was sunday, so friday, saturday it got beat up and they just hadn't had the maintenance crew out there to do as as good a maintenance as they normally do. Um, but even with all the ball marks, the greens were fantastic I I mean absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 1:

The you know, jeremy and I were talking, you know, the mountain course it's. It's not a difficult golf course, but the greens make it a hard golf course because of the undulation, because of the speed. You know if, if the greens were a were a seven course would be a lot easier because you'd hold the greens, you'd be able to attack the pins a little bit more with your putts, be a little bit more aggressive. But there's a couple holes where you've got a three-footer above the hole. That it's nervy, it's stressy, and that second hole, that hole can suck a dick.

Speaker 4:

I, I hate that that was a hard approach for sure. God, I hate that hole I, I have.

Speaker 1:

I don't think I've ever not hit my ball in the water there just with my approach, coming up short and and just rolling down. I mean I I hit the green on my approach and it rolled all the way down the hill yeah, um, especially with that front pin.

Speaker 4:

That front pin makes it so hard. Yeah, yeah, but if it's in the back it's, it's a little different. But you still have to either lay up or carry that water and if it, if it hits that upslope at all, it's back in the water.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it doesn't kick forward and then, uh, what's the first part? Three, is it? Four, you got yes, four, yeah, yeah um, so I recorded all those, and and, jeremy, if you guys uh saw this, I I didn't put it on the the cdp, but I put it on my, my story. I'll post it on cdp with a shot tracer because it was pretty good.

Speaker 4:

Uh came about four inches from a hole in one yeah that was an incredible shot and the shot tracer makes it even better yeah just this big looping, jeremy martin draw that's, that's my, that's my shot, man, I just it's the most predictable shot I have, so I just aim at the right edge of the green and just draw it in for all those uh, I'm gonna get personal all them losers on instagram that said jeremy slices the ball um I've never sliced it before, no, he doesn't slice the ball at all, it's.

Speaker 1:

It's that that high draw, that looping draw, bow tie in the sky. Beautiful shot that man. What would have your reaction been if that went in? I?

Speaker 4:

don't know. I'm kind of, I mean, when I've pulled out shots before and even like I've had three.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you're so docile.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, seriously, I don't get that excited Like I was more excited for Dan's hole-in pulled out shots before and even like I've had three. Oh, you're so docile. Yeah, I seriously I don't get that excited like I was more excited for dan's all-in-one at abandon than I probably would be for my own. I don't know, it's just like, yeah, that went in, that was awesome, and I don't know, yeah, probably not, I'd probably disappoint for sure that's funny it was, it was so close there he comes, daddy, dropping off his show beer yep uh, but yeah, great shot.

Speaker 1:

Uh, he had a couple good birdies on the day. Um, I played better than I did at Boulder Creek. I was happy about that. I played really good on the back nine, hit a lot of greens and I'm really happy with the Odyssey putter right now yeah that thing is sick I think it's so nice isn't it? I mean, like you said, dad, it's it looked brand new.

Speaker 5:

I mean it does you? You fucking scored with that thing.

Speaker 1:

That thing is beautiful it is such a good and I'm I'm so happy with it right now, so I'm really excited to be rolling that and rolling it well and, uh, even with the super fast greens. It was, it was fun, it was fun out there yeah and yeah. Uh hats off to darden yeah great, great golf course shout out darden's gardens dad and dad and gaddens.

Speaker 1:

Uh see, uh, one thing that uh jeremy was talking about when we were out there is um, there there's a lot of fun golf shots that you, you can have out there. Uh, you know some some cool approach shots. You have some elevated tees to small narrow fairways. You got to carry a couple canyons. There's, there's water right a few times and there's there's just a lot of fun creative golf shots and I I know Joe loves the creative golf shots. Make sure to turn your mic on and you can really do that out there. Especially with how the greens are so quick, you can really aim for a spot and try to get the ball to go back to it.

Speaker 4:

It's just that course. It's a course that I haven't played enough. That was the most enjoyable round I've had there. It's in a great location. It gets a ton of play, of course, Probably one of the busiest in town, but it's just so fun. I need to get out there more. There's just a lot of things you can do there on the greens, lots of options off the tee.

Speaker 1:

It's a good time, Joe. What'd?

Speaker 3:

you think I thought it was great man. I have uh, you know it's uh, darden's been doing a really good job out there. Ball marks, yeah, obviously. Um, a lot of people don't respect the course and especially when you get a lot of play like angel park. In that situation, you know you get a lot of people that they're close to the, they're close to that golf course. You know they go to the range and they feel like they own a piece of it. But you know if, if you feel like you own a piece of something, like, take care of it.

Speaker 3:

Take care of it. Yeah and uh, I just want to take a quick minute. I haven't been present on Instagram much. I have fully dived deep into the crypto Twitter space. Oh, it only took a minute, me one second. Right, there is a guy that is revolutionizing the way it is right. So, like, this dude has been live since thursday. Um, he has the ticker live. He is broadcasting on plenty of platforms everything that we aspire to be right, and the kid is 24 years old. He speaks better than I do.

Speaker 3:

And uh, I think the, the wave of the future, could potentially go that route to where? I mean the, the world has changed, literally. And um, I believe in the ecosystem and I just, I just gotta say it because shit's changing. Golf has changed. The things of the past have changed. They put red dye in our food. They put yellow five in our food. I'm sorry, it's true. Right, like, I'm just trying to figure out where you're going with this. I'm not going anywhere other than, uh, there's a movement happening with chase and daylight podcast and with, uh, the revolution of changing the world, and I'm here for it. That's all I'm saying. And uh, pay attention to what's going on.

Speaker 3:

That's all I'm saying okay I know, I know I sound crazy yeah but trust me, trust me, trust me okay, we're gonna trust you how's your cardano doing?

Speaker 1:

not good a little upset with you right now?

Speaker 3:

no, you're not, you will hold for the long term spring 2025 I am the.

Speaker 1:

I am the.

Speaker 3:

You know, brave heart hold I don't want, I don't, I really don't want to turn it into this, but like it's changing, just just trust the process, accept the changes in the world. Things have changed many times and that's all I got to say. But yes, and golf has changed a lot. Golf has changed a shit ton, you know. Like it's the same thing, like there were wound balls and now there's four piece balls and there's this ball and there's bigger driver heads. Everything changes and if you can understand where it goes and you can see where it could go, then you'll be. You'll be good.

Speaker 1:

Speaker 3:

I guess you know just hold it, bro, just hold it, just hold it so you can get on here with us you're good, it's gonna happen. I can't wait for it to all right.

Speaker 1:

Um, then we had a little chip off at angel park. Um, I think we picked the wrong hole to do that on, though.

Speaker 3:

Maybe we picked the wrong flag to do, I don't know. I was.

Speaker 4:

That's why I went for that one, cause it was a tight little. You got to fly it on the green, but it was a tight little pin.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, in the in the video it looks like I hit mine way long left. But you know, I got up there cause I knew it was going to roll back to the pin a little bit. So I got up there and looked and I mean, jeremy, you were closer by by maybe a foot, you know. Uh, you were definitely closer, but it wasn't wasn't much. And uh, because I, I I wanted that to grab just a little bit more and then spin more to the right. Um, but uh, yeah, testing, uh, the boys were testing out the opus wedge. Um, I I clipped joe's uh comment about. You know, I don't chip with the 58, so I don't I.

Speaker 3:

What are you trying to say?

Speaker 1:

I'm lying no, I just thought it was funny that, like we're having a little chipping contest and the first words out of your mouth, I don't chip with this club.

Speaker 3:

Well, that's the thing, like you know. If it doesn't fit your eye like jeremy speaks this truth all the time if it doesn't fit your eye, it's it's like hard to look down at. And that's like me with a 58, like when I look at it, when I'm, when I'm chipping, I'm not chipping, I'm fucking sending it high as fuck. You know, like I'm flopping it all day trying to hold that shit out. Let it trickle in the hole. That's me. And with a 58, it looks like a 58, even if it's wide open.

Speaker 1:

He plays a wedge that has two more degrees on it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but that's the thing. It's my eye and that's how crazy we are as golfers. That's the thing, man. If it doesn't fit your eye, it doesn't fit your eye. Just like a fucking mallet cover in the back. It does not fit my eye eye and I don't want to putt with that like I. I want to see that shit looking like a cast iron skillet.

Speaker 3:

You know, that's what I want to see, especially on a tight pin like that I want to see it wide open, oiled up, seasoned, and I want to see it rip, you season your wedges yep, yep, I put olive oil on them and let them cook.

Speaker 1:

You know, what I mean avocado oil. Come on let's, let's be kind.

Speaker 3:

You know, healthy here, healthy avocado yeah, no seed oils, no corn oil, it's olive oil or avocado oil, you know, beef tallow, beef tallow, grass-fed butter. And I'm just flying that shit to the moon and I'm letting it, letting it land soft and just skill up in that hole well, hey, if it makes you feel better.

Speaker 1:

I don't ship with a 58 either.

Speaker 3:

I typically chip with a 54 so yeah, I could never do that oh, you could if you try, and you'd be a better. I have it I have a 54, like yeah, you know, I don't do it that much because I'm I'm like, I'm one for the hero shots and uh, because I don't really care about score like I, I'm there for the hero shots and uh, hero shots go to the moon and they come down and trickle into the hole. That's what I'm here for okay, yeah, did they.

Speaker 4:

So? Did they change the calloway wedges a lot like that? Is the design pretty much the same, or did it change a lot with the opus?

Speaker 1:

it's, it's a new design. Yeah it's it's.

Speaker 3:

I will say that wedge felt fantastic and, um, I would love to hit a 60 degree in that wedge because it was fantastic. It felt really good, it felt buttery, it felt clippy, it was really good.

Speaker 1:

I got the 60 in the garage, so I will bring it next time we play.

Speaker 3:

Also, that shaft felt a little heavy to me.

Speaker 1:

I mean it's typical, you know, 115 wedge shaft.

Speaker 3:

I do like a little bit of a lighter shaft in my lob wedge because I'm not swinging that thing full weight. You know I'm finessing it.

Speaker 1:

If you look at the takeaways, yours was pretty aggressive compared to everybody else's.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I couldn't finesse it, I couldn't feel it, it was a little too heavy.

Speaker 1:

I like my wedge shafts heavy.

Speaker 3:

That's why I have it built that way.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, great, wedge great wedge, thank you for tuning in golf hill. You guys are making me laugh. That's awesome. Glad we're here for you.

Speaker 2:

Bring a little, little joy to your tuesday night absolutely all right joe

Speaker 3:

did you want to? Is this ig?

Speaker 1:

I gotta yeah uh, did you have anything on tiger not playing the hero?

Speaker 3:

no, I think you I was kind of listening to you guys and, um, I heard some of it, but yeah, I think I think it's time for tiger to uh it up, like not fully, but Let it go.

Speaker 3:

let it go I'm cheap in the places where he is confident, which definitely is Augusta, which I know you guys said. Open Championship, which I know you guys said Pick and choose. I'm still like super. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I I feel really excited for TGO. I think it's going to be. I think it's going to be really sick. This is the first time I've heard you say that no, you have not. This is not your first time, but no, I saw.

Speaker 1:

I saw an ad for Xander's team, the New York team and the.

Speaker 3:

But no, I saw an ad for Xander's team, the New York team. The teams are wacko. They don't make any sense.

Speaker 1:

They don't make any sense, none whatsoever, but I think the product will be good. But in their little ad that they had it showed the arena and the screen and they're hitting into. It does look sick. Yeah, patrick.

Speaker 3:

Cantley goes up. He's like did the green just move? Like they're going? Like, did the green just move, like they're gonna move the green? Have you guys watched any of those uh videos from what's that architect, architect? Um, he's the mexican guy pisa pisa golf. You, you guys know him. So he was. There was a video where he explained how they designed the holes because they can only have one green with bunkers and they have to move it. So he was talking about how they were designing the holes to make it competitive for the golf, the golfers, and taking on risk reward and how the the green because the green is sits still in the stadium.

Speaker 3:

You know, it's like one bunker on this side, two bunkers on this side and it's like a egg shape or whatever salty golfer what up salty, but you gotta, you gotta like they design the holes after the greens so that they can just rotate the green into how it fits the hole. I'm, I'm super stoked on it. I think it it's going to be fantastic. Nobody's ever seen a screen that big.

Speaker 1:

Dude, it was massive.

Speaker 3:

Massive. One thing is for sure they did fumble the teams. I don't know the teams, but Max Homa being on Atlanta or whatever it is, it makes no sense.

Speaker 1:

Max Homa's, the LA guy, yeah.

Speaker 3:

Xander on the New York team. They fumbled that 100%. It doesn't make any sense. But yeah, xander on the New York team, they fumbled that like 100%. It doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 1:

But I'm stoked to see it in January. I think it's going to be great. It should be. I mean it's golf-ertainment.

Speaker 3:

I love that, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

We will see how that goes. All right, do you care much about the Phil and Grand Horror thing?

Speaker 3:

No, I think that's the way that that the whole thing is going like you know, it is what it is like and phil is tied with live and there's gonna be a lot of live golfers and grant is tied with a lot of youtube golfers. So I really feel like it's gonna be a lot of live and youtube golfers and, you know, anybody tied into the live ecosystem might jump in as a celebrity and play. But I'm not I'm not like super stoked on that. Like I do watch YouTube golf occasionally, but I think it's going to be the same thing. We've seen from those channels a lot Like I do enjoy those. I do enjoy watching those guys. The content is good, but it's not specifically what I am after. But it'll be. It'll be edited Well, it will sound good and it will be entertaining. But you know I'm not going to sit down with the fam for two hours to watch Grant Horvath and phil mickelson play no wakhan namon and uh, jam golf.

Speaker 3:

Like you know, maybe if I have a little extra time I might do it, and and there's a clip on on instagram or youtube or whatever that gets me hyped about watching it. I just but they do, they do put out fantastic content, it's quality and uh, yeah, it's going that way, it really is going that way. And yeah, I'd rather shit in my hand and clap lol from cousin clubs. That's what he said. Shout out, cousin clubs.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's awesome.

Speaker 3:

And that's not what you need to fuel your life. That's not, that's not you know, I'd rather. I'd rather see those guys play like hidden gems in the middle of the Arizona desert that the greens are dirt, you know like. Put out something interesting and create a story and create an adventure, because that's what it's all about creating memories with your homies Whenever it's set. Boom, Mic drop.

Speaker 1:

Hey, shout out Floatay Golf Academy. Tim Floatay is watching on IG. We've been kind of collaborating on the breakfast ball. I'm sharing his weekly blog post on there. Now there's actually some content of collaborating on the breakfast ball. I'm sharing his weekly blog post on there. Now there's actually some content going up on the breakfast ball. Yay, I've been busy with doctor's appointments and doctor's appointments and blood draws and doctor's appointments the last couple of days so I haven't got his up this week. So, tim, I apologize to you for that, but I will get that done tomorrow after tomorrow's doctor's appointments. I apologize to you for that, but I will get that done tomorrow after tomorrow's doctor's appointments. All the dude. It is absolutely ridiculous getting medical procedures done right now.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I have had to jump through fucking hula hoop after hula hoop trying to get all this done. But, as mentioned at the beginning of the show good news I mean the bad news is I have another tear in my right knee and my right meniscus, so I have to get both done, but they're both getting done at the same time, so Matt will have new knees come 2025. I'm very excited about that, not looking forward to the day of the surgery and dealing with that for a couple of days, but with chatting with Dr Dumbler today and and he's excited for me so I'll feel much better after oh, dude, I'm just, I'm just looking forward to not like squatting down and feeling 110.

Speaker 3:

Yes, yeah, my god, I, I, I hate, I hate hospitals. I hate doctors. You know they're shilling I. Just every time I go in there I feel like they're shilling you a product, or they're trying to make you sicker than you actually are, or they don't. I don't know what's wrong, you know. But luckily for body wise, you know, we have, we have a. We have a. We have a fail, safe and Dr Dumbler shut out Valley spine and health.

Speaker 1:

I proud sponsor of the $1,000 hole in one prize for the VGN.

Speaker 3:

Shout out, Dr Dumbler man, that that dude is a special. Trust him 100% with anything that is happening physically bones, muscles in my body. So that's, that's cool that you went to go see him. But you know it's it's hard to trust doctors, in my opinion.

Speaker 1:

but well, this was all just bs, it was it. It was pre-op clearance stuff I had. I had to, uh, I had to get a chest x-ray, which was no big deal, that took 10 minutes. I had to go, uh, get a stress and because I can't do the treadmill because my knees, I had to get this shit injected into me. That made my heart go crazy, which that was a fucking trip. I was telling Dan about that before we get an ultrasound, because medical insurance companies don't allow one facility to bill for two different procedures on the same day. So I had to go in there yesterday for the stress test, today for the ultrasound, then I had to go back to my primary care today to get blood drawn.

Speaker 1:

Then I got my pre-surgery screening at the orthopedic tomorrow. Then I gotta go back to the orth, uh, the cardiologist, to get my release that I'm okay for surgery, and then, oh god I'm a fucking mess bad man dude, it's just just have it all in one place, just right, we know what needs to be done.

Speaker 4:

You're doing it. Just have everyone there. Yeah, it's like so dumb it's absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 1:

Uh, I mean and this is for like minor knee surgery. You know, I had like major angle surgery and didn't have to do any of this shit, so in like the last because that was in 2019 when I had that done. So in the last five years it's gone to shit and I don't know if, because I'm older, I'm over 50 now, so they're like we have to take extra precautions, because you're an old cooter and uh cooter, my god do you play revere often?

Speaker 3:

I've heard there's a lot of like cooters up here.

Speaker 1:

I am part of the cooter army. That's the next shirt going out Hooter Army. I officially don't have to fix ball marks anymore because I'm part of the Hooter Army.

Speaker 1:

Riding my golf cart up on the green. Yes, I am Not raking my bunkers Damn straight, which it was funny. Jeremy and I made that video. I actually made it of Jeremy doing it. He was raking my bunkers damn straight, which it was funny. We met jeremy and I made that video. I actually made it of jeremy doing it. He was raking that bunker and, uh, it was so funny. When we got done he goes. You know somebody's gonna complain about how I did it, and sure enough pops on greenly.

Speaker 4:

Of course it was greenly. I knew it was gonna be greenly. That wasn't my normal rake job. I will say that I was kind of rushing because you're waiting to go to your ball, so usually I take my time and zen garden raking.

Speaker 1:

But still, but I mean it's better than it was better than it was and and you know I I made a pose and I did pose this on the cdp ig. Uh, about our round time. You know we had a 7 10 tee time. We were done at 10-45. We played in 3-35. Each of us were fixing ball marks on every green. Dan had a counting 15. He was doing 10-15 a hole. We were filling our divots in the fairway, we were raking our bunkers.

Speaker 4:

We let a single go through.

Speaker 1:

We had putting contests, we had a chipping contest and we were done in 335. And it just I mean we know each other, we're really comfortable around each other, so it's a little bit easier for us to know when we can hit. You know, if you're playing with strangers, you may not be as lacked as we are playing with each other. You know, you don't know some people's situations. You're going to be a little bit hesitant. Are they ready? Should I hit? I get that, but that wasn't an hour extra added on, you know, taken away from our time, because we're comfortable around each other.

Speaker 3:

The slow play is it's getting ridiculous I, I think that's one of the things, right. So, like I'm gonna play golf tomorrow with uh, torres chris standard and vic sanchez and uh, the kids are sick. Katie has to go work, right, and she's like, what time can I go to work? Like, what time can I leave? I'm like, well, like los prados is a short course, like it should take three hours. But you know like people are grinding at los prados, which makes no sense. You know, like, don't fucking go grind at los prados. Like no, I understand you're going for your career best. Okay, I understand it. But like, if you are not on track for that, fucking stop and pick your ball up and take a drop. Who gives a fuck dude? Like you know, I hate that. Like, if you're in a tournament, yes, play every shot out, because you are being judged on your gin or putting your score in right yeah, you're competing against other players if you're playing a wednesday round with a couple homies and you're just.

Speaker 3:

You're there, you're. You're not grinding, you're not a pro, you're not on a pj tour, you're not trying to go to q school like, enjoy yourself, just enjoy yourself.

Speaker 1:

Well, you got eagle eye vic playing with you, so I mean any ball that's not in the fairway he'll be able to locate like that true, yeah, he's gonna have better eyes than the residents of los prados, that's for sure.

Speaker 3:

So um, he's a.

Speaker 1:

He's a living drone.

Speaker 3:

It's, it's amazing yeah, I just I don't get it, man. I don't get why golf takes so long. It's it's not that hard, you know. If you're a double bogey like, just give up, dude, and go to the next and I said this, I said this is jeremy.

Speaker 1:

I said you know, we on the drive home was, we weren't like we weren't rushed, we weren't like trying to play fast we were not.

Speaker 3:

We were not like joe's got to get the kids, so we got to blaze through this Dude I shot fucking four balls in the street and then I just said that's gone, I'll hit another ball or I'll drop you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean there was some desert searching going on and I just don't understand. I mean I do understand it. Some people are really fucking slow golfers and they running the vgn and and playing a lot of golf in the community with you know, uh, randos. I just think people don't know they're slow this is an interesting question that I mean.

Speaker 3:

I, I'm, I'm framing a question out of what cousin club said. He said I don't use a range finder because I don't know exactly how far my clubs go, so why would I want an exact number? Okay, so if I'm playing in a tournament, I shoot everything right because I'm trying to win, I'm trying to make a birdie, to win skins. But if, like when me played at angel park, I look at the screen, the gps screen that's on the cart, I don't care, I don't, I don't. You know, I don't have to be that dialed, I can look at the screen. It's whatever the flags to the middle. If it's a, it's a front pin, okay, take 10, 15 yards off, who cares? Um, but how? I mean? That doesn't burn a ton of time, right, it doesn't burn time, but it does add up over the course of a round. But most people don't even, you know, they think that they hit their seven iron one 70 all the time, which they don't, and I think that's a bigger problem. No, oh yeah, and I think that's a bigger problem.

Speaker 1:

I can tell you right now in the fitting world when you ask a golfer, hey, how far do you hit your 7-iron? And we're talking carry yardages, we've had maybe two people out of 50 that were right and the other 48 were short of what they said. Now it is range balls. I will you know, julie and I had a lady this past week that we fit, that we were so impressed with how consistent she was and how well she was hitting the driver. She went to her bag and got a real ball out just to see the difference. Because julian kept saying in the video that me and him shot. He says it several times, you know range ball, range ball, range balls. And I mean she was hitting, she was carrying her driver 250 and I mean she was hitting. She was carrying her driver 250 and she put a range ball in or a tp5 taylor made in and it was 265.

Speaker 3:

I mean it was significantly different so range ball is a powerful lady.

Speaker 1:

Powerful lady, that girl is dude that's massive, that's massive we're hoping she joins the vgn. We told her about it. She was really excited about it and uh, it was she.

Speaker 1:

She, dan, you would have loved these clubs. Actually, jeremy, all you guys would have loved these clubs. She came in with some, some sprixons that were pre-usa released sprixons. So we're going back to 2012, uh, before sprixon started selling in the united states. And uh, I mean she goes, I, she goes, I'm just not good enough to play blades anymore. And so we went through the process and and uh got her in some irons and she was just striping and we're like you're good, you know you're good and she's like oh, I'm not as good as I used to be and we're like crap.

Speaker 1:

You know that's you're, you're good. I mean she was filling up a hula hoop from 160 with her 7-iron all day, all fitting long.

Speaker 3:

Let's go Good for her.

Speaker 1:

And I mean arguably one of the most accurate players we've had in a fitting date. I mean just solid.

Speaker 3:

And so, when we were done, you guys, what's she doing? Getting better. I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Speaker 1:

So afterwards I uh getting better, I'm kidding. So afterwards I was telling you know, we were telling her a little bit about the vgn and that you know, I, I want, I would love to have some more female golfers. And and uh, she, her and her husband moved here from california. They live, uh, on legacy and uh, so she plays legacy a lot. And uh, I says, what do you normally shoot out there? And she goes well, my husband won't let me play up a box, so I, I typically shoot 71, 72 from the blue tees.

Speaker 1:

It's like wow, but you're no good, you're not good, it was too funny. But yeah, I, you know, I, what I do when I shoot, and if there's a, if there is a uh GPS on the cart, I'll shoot the number and then see what it says to the center. So I know exactly where the pin is in relation, and so then I can kind of judge what I need to hit. I'm not looking, I don't shoot the pin and it's one 35. Okay, I'm, I'm hitting 135 yard shot. I'm seeing where it's at in relation to on the green and where I should hit my shot too. And that's that's what's making me decide the club to swing. So you know, I don't use it for exact distances, I'm using it to help me get a picture of the green. And if you know, the farts don't have GPS and I'll use 18 birdies to determine that. But but it doesn't take much time.

Speaker 1:

I mean, you get your number and you go.

Speaker 4:

You know what club you're gonna pull um, so I don't know, but I think it's.

Speaker 1:

It's. It's a lot of, uh, ready golf. Nobody knows how to play ready golf.

Speaker 1:

You know um someone's in the bunker and they hit their, their bunker shot and you you've got a. You you got a 20 foot putt and they hit their ball at the bunker and it comes to rest a foot behind you. Your shot, and while they're raking the bunker, you're standing there waiting for them to come up and hit their ball because they're out. No, just hit your putt and then, when they're ready, they get to their ball. Little stuff like that saves so much time If nobody's in the middle of their backswing.

Speaker 3:

just fucking hit your ball, Nobody cares.

Speaker 1:

If you're a box up on an elevated tee box and there are people behind you who haven't hit and you yell Jeremy, you're going to go in his backswing.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I mean the green is a different space, right? You respect it because you're also trying to look, for you know, see what, to see what the green's doing. If you're unsure, but um, in a friendly uh, but there's a time and a place for that.

Speaker 1:

You know there's a time and a place for that tournament. Golf, I, I get it, but you can still. You know it's not like we're playing for 10 000, you know, a million dollars, it's we're playing for two, three hundred bucks.

Speaker 3:

Just play golf also, most people don't like grind the way that they should or that they think they do. You know what I mean. So, like cousin clubs is in the ig chat saying you know, you know he can take, spin off it and that's. That's the thing that you need to experiment with. You know, are you spinning it back? Are you spinning and stopping? Are you just stopping or is it you're hitting it and it's running out Like? Those are the things that really matter at the end of the day is like finding your creativity and hitting the shots that need to be hit. You know, it doesn't matter what the number on the club says, it doesn't matter the number on the club says, doesn't matter the loft on the club, it matters what you know, what you can do with the club at the end of the day. Can you hit it low? Can you hit it high? Can you hit your windows? Can you hit you dry? Can you fade it like?

Speaker 3:

and that's the puzzle yep golf course is a puzzle and it's up to you to figure it out. And if you don't have all the pieces to figure out the puzzle, you're not going to figure out the puzzle. It's not going to happen, you know but.

Speaker 1:

But I will say if you are putting a puzzle together, uh, do it fast exactly you don't have to take forever. You know, if that piece doesn't fit, go on to the next one. Don't keep trying to find it, don't? Oh? So many analogies you can use, but they're hit ball, fine ball.

Speaker 3:

Hit ball, fine ball. That's that's at the end of the day. That's what it is. Hit ball, find ball. Wait for other to hit ball. If he's trying to hit ball, dumb it down, bro. It's not that complicated, it is easier to overcomplicate something simple than it is to do something well.

Speaker 1:

Beautifully said. Beautifully said, but I don't know. You know, julie, and I talk about this a lot. When, uh, fitting females compared to fitting males, uh, the male ego is is a, it's a tough nut to overcome, you know, uh, you go, you go in to a fitting, thinking you're, you're a baller, and then you find out that you're, you know, a D plus baller. Um, it, it can, it can wreak some habit on the psyche and uh, it's, it's a motherfucker. But I think a lot more golfers need to be aware of their time spent on the golf course. You know some people, hey, they just don't give a shit, they're slow, they know it, they don't care, they're out there on their time and they're going to. You know, I paid my 70 bucks, just like you did, and uh, I'm going to. You know, take as much time as I want. Um, and you know, there's the other people that have respect for everybody else playing that day and and uh, can actually get around of golf in in less than four hours. It's possible.

Speaker 3:

I do less than four hours. It's possible. I do understand both aspects, because there's nothing worse than feeling rushed on a golf course.

Speaker 3:

Right, you know, I agree, if you're feeling, if you're playing in a tournament and you're feeling rushed, it just it messes you up, or I mean like, but, like respect, and this is why I have a lot of respect for golf. Most golfers Golfers are, for the most part, very trustworthy, you know. Look out for one another for the most part, yeah, but a lot don't also Just enjoy the ride, my friend. Enjoy the ride. Play your game and rake your bunkers and fix your ball marks. And if you don't know how to fix ball marks, go hit up Cousin Clubs. He's got plenty of videos on how to fix ball marks, great tools to fix your ball marks. Just go, do it Easy.

Speaker 1:

Easy, all right, that's going to do it. Easy, easy, all right, that's going to do it for episode 302. 302. Wow, I can't believe we're over 300 episodes.

Speaker 3:

Also, you always have a T. You can use a T too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, t's work really easily, nothing wrong with them.

Speaker 2:

Or you have a Shelby one that says maybe see a psychologist.

Speaker 1:

Well, everybody, thank you so much for tuning in this week. We're still rolling. It's the off-season. We've got more coming up next week. Joe, any word from who we were going to have on for 301? Nothing, You've been ghosted.

Speaker 3:

No, I didn't send him a message since then. We'll have to do that soon. I'll message him because I think that's going to be really good. Well, I mean, it's high-level golf, so I don't know what the weather is like down there, but I I will work on it.

Speaker 1:

Hopefully we can get them on in december, um and hey, if anybody's listening and thinks there's somebody that we should have on, let us know we'll reach out.

Speaker 3:

We'll ask yeah bashful I think it would be great if all of our listeners would just go into somebody's comments that you think we should have on the podcast. Tag us and just say hey, you should get on Chase the Daylight podcast. These guys are doing it every week. They're here for the community of golf. You know they're telling it like it is. So if you're a listener diehard listener your favorite golf account, just just go tag hit them up.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, help us because you know that we're not going anywhere. We're not. We've been here for what? 302 weeks. What the fuck? It's a long time. We've been here a long time and we're here every single week. Uh, jeremy real quick, uh.

Speaker 1:

Does the long neck stay for a few rounds or? Yeah, it's staying for now you rolled that thing really well the other day yeah I can tell the difference.

Speaker 4:

I can tell the face is more stable when I went out and practiced with it today at the desert willow and it just feels different. It feels slightly easier to keep to hit solid so we'll see, keep it in there nice no longer for sale for the moment good to know.

Speaker 1:

Good to know take it out the plastic may, may have a couple of LHEP shafts that would fit in the garage if you had to try out. Let's see. Oh, I did. I told Dan this. I did order an AI200 7-iron head just to do a little testing with. Just to do a little testing with. The Adels are great, but Jeremy even said it. He's like man. You hit the ball so low and that is just like. You know I got the little devil over here going. You know you hit the ball really low.

Speaker 2:

You have a discount at Callaway.

Speaker 1:

You hit the ball really, low man. You have a discount at Callaway.

Speaker 3:

It's like stop talking to me. One thing I'm really curious you have a discount at callaway. It's like, yeah, one thing, one thing I'm really curious you're, you are a company man. Now how much time do you spend with others over yourself? What, like? So you, you're a company man, I'm not. I'm not shilling any club manufacturer, but you're a company man. I'm not shilling any club manufacturer, but you're a company man. How much time do you spend with people that have booked compared to the time you spend hitting those clubs? Is it equal? Is it more equals more? How much more time are you working? Are you hitting clubs there, like working on your game? Then you're working with others to work on their game.

Speaker 1:

I mean, if we have appointments, we're working with people, if we don't, we're practicing absolutely so that's what I'm saying, what's?

Speaker 3:

the what's the what's?

Speaker 1:

the, it depends on the ratio, it depends on the schedule, like at there's if you have a four hour like window.

Speaker 3:

So I mean that's typically what it is right.

Speaker 1:

Four nine to nine to two, so it's a little bit longer than that company man.

Speaker 3:

So if you have no, if you have no bookings, like are you just like grinding like into the trenches, like trying to figure out your own stuff and it? Oh yes, and are you finding that it's helping you or is it hurting you because oh, it's helping immensely.

Speaker 1:

Um, and I, I've known julian for a while, we've known julian for a while and and one thing that is is what I wasn't aware of with Julian, because I've known him socially. I never got fit with Julian. We did putt labs with Roden one time, but I never had like spend time in a bay or anything with Julian. Julian is brilliant when it comes to fitting.

Speaker 1:

I mean absolutely brilliant I I don't love golf, dude I don't like go out on a limb and say that boastfully about something. You know, he is brilliant when it comes to fitting and, and I didn't know that, working around him now, and I'm I'm glad that I am learning from him, um, because, watching his brain work when he's working with somebody, and you know I, because, like I'll think of something, he'll think of something you know, or he, he'll tell me hey, this is what I'm thinking, this is what I'm thinking and I mean it's amazing watching him work and and having an understanding for the equipment you know, and working at Club Champion, he worked with a lot of for the equipment you know, and working at club champion, he worked with a lot of different brands but you know, being now just solely with callaway and being able to concentrate on just the callaway line, it's it is amazing to watch him work.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, when you know we have no appointments and we're there, yeah, we're grinding on our own stuff and you know he's working on things, I'm working on things, he's helping me, I helped him with his putting the other day it was. It was kind of fun because it was like, you know, the, the, the pupil helping the teacher with his putting and, uh, you know, it's just one small little setup change that we made. And and he was like, wow, this is crazy.

Speaker 3:

And he was like, don't ever not say something to me if you see something you know and I'm like I said well, I've never jillian too like he'll not. He, he will not shut his mouth if he has something to say to you. Oh yeah, absolutely um.

Speaker 1:

So you know he was really excited for me to try the mini driver um and you know it's a. It's a fantastic club. I just can't hit it off the deck, and so it's not going to be a three wood replacement for me. I would totally game it off the deck. I mean off the t, because I hit it, you know, at angel park, like three or four times off the t and really, really happy with it, but off the deck it's just, it's not. It's not for me.

Speaker 3:

I will say one of the one of the things about julian right there's for him, there's all this information there, and when you funnel it down into one space, he can shine 100 yeah, and, and so he'll and if, if he's like like ribeyes in fucking freezers, right, he will forget about a ribeye to cook.

Speaker 3:

But if there is a callaway driver that can be set on different spots, he'll know the loft that it's at, he'll know the lie angle it's at, like if you can just funnel him down into one spot and that's. I think that's he's shining in this area, in this aspect of his career, and he is zoned in. I love julian. I wish he didn't leave that grass-fed ribeye in the freezer.

Speaker 1:

But he is here now and I think he is moonshotting to the moon like it's so much fun watching him work on stuff and getting his different perspectives on things, because there's such a wide variety of golf swings. Nobody swings the club the same, and so it's like you look at what they're doing with their stuff and we tell people I mean, more often than not, you don't need to spend money on clubs, it's not going to do anything for you. I had a guy in Mesquite that crazy over the top and he wasn't. You could tell he was questioning me a little bit. So I said, hey, let me put it on the quad so you can see. And I mean it was bad.

Speaker 1:

He. He was like 12 degrees across with 14 degrees open on the face and he didn't understand why his ball was going, you know, 40 yards to the right, you know. So I say let me show you the data you know. And and uh, he wanted some new irons and I I'm like in good faith, I can't sell you clubs right now, because there's no club in the world that's going to hit the ball straight for you right now. Instead of spending $1,200 on a set of clubs, go buy a five-pack of lessons and get your shit figured out. Then come back and see us and we'll fit you. And he was actually like you know what A lot of people wouldn't have told me that.

Speaker 3:

Thank you you know, that's what's cool about it like, um, like real friends will stab you in the front and that's what fitters should be at the end of the day. Yeah, they should tell like when, when I've I mean back in the day, like what was it like? Probably five years ago now, like rodent and when rodent and juju were at club champion oh yeah, I was there that night.

Speaker 3:

When we're like yeah, you're yeah, and they were trying to fit me and they're like just figure it out, dude, like you don't need anything. And they stabbed me in the front and that's where I like, grinded in my backyard, just trying to figure it out. If you buy clubs at that point, it's a waste of money. Then you try and figure it out, it's a complete waste of money. There are things that will do that help you with that, but, like, if you want to be a golfer, like a real golfer, like it's, there's no point.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, um for those guys because of that like I remember that like vividly in my mind, you know, because I was new, you know, when I was, I was going to into a space where I was like, oh, these guys know what they're talking about. You know, and they could have, they probably could have sold me on anything they wanted to, right. Like maybe I had the money, maybe I didn't, but you know, they said, just stop, dude.

Speaker 1:

Like figure it out first.

Speaker 3:

figure it out first, and then we can work on it later.

Speaker 1:

figure it out first and then we can work on it later. Like you had a guy that uh, uh had some uh Strix on ZX fives and uh, he comes up and he's warming up and I'm like, okay, really questioning why you're here, because you know these are not bad clubs and you're hitting them really well. And he's like I just know there's new tech and I know I'm missing something, so I just want to see.

Speaker 2:

I'm like, okay, yeah, no problem.

Speaker 1:

So um went head to head with, uh, the AI two hundreds and I mean they are a little bit stronger lofted, and I explained that to him, um, but he was, he was crushing it, you know, and I'm like, hey, if, if, you know this is what you're looking for. You know you're hitting the ball higher, you're hitting it further. Uh, um, you know, changed up his shaft a little bit and he was incredibly happy and he's like yeah, I'm buying these. So, you know, it all depends the player. First off. There's, there's a lot to go, the fitting it's. It's a completely different world and, uh, it's. It's been a lot of fun working with it and seeing it, but I agree 100% with what Roden?

Speaker 1:

and Julian did back then. The worst thing to do is sell somebody something they don't need because one it really affects your integrity with them, because if they don't get better and they don't play better, they don't see improvement. They're going to blame you and then they're never going to come back back.

Speaker 3:

I mean it's different in aspects. Probably if it's like a dude that's been playing for 30 years and he's been struggling with that for a long time, like that's a different story. But you know, and that's what I appreciate about those guys man, those juju rodent good guys and you're you're starting to find out what you know, what you talk about, you know. So I appreciate you too a little bit, a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Uh, I do my. I do my best when I play with you guys to just keep the fitting talk in the pocket keep the fitting talk in the pocket and, uh, if you guys have questions, I'll I'll say something, but uh, yeah, I'm not going to be anybody that's out there giving swing advice anytime soon. So uh but man it is. It is fun to talk about you know oh yeah, it's so. What did you? What happened, joe? What did you?

Speaker 5:

what happened, joe, good night daddy, what happened?

Speaker 1:

good night daddy little nightmare.

Speaker 3:

She was like I need to know when you gave them the medicine and then give them any medicine. They're a little sick, so give them medicine.

Speaker 1:

Joe, what's wrong with you? They were fine they're going to bed now, so to go back to your sleep, to go back to your original question that you would go to sleep if we don't have appointments and there's nobody on the range, we are grinding company, man.

Speaker 3:

You know, man, it needs to be like emilio estevez and fucking uh Sheen movie like Men at Work.

Speaker 5:

Men at Work yep.

Speaker 1:

Time to do the nasty.

Speaker 3:

Yeah just riding a golf cart throwing clubs in the back of the cart.

Speaker 5:

Time to do the nasty Time to do the nasty that's funny, that's unloading and loading the gear.

Speaker 1:

God man, that is.

Speaker 3:

That dude hit a dude with a golf ball. He died. Who killed him?

Speaker 2:

Who hit that, aaron that dude hit a dude with a golf ball.

Speaker 3:

He died who killed him.

Speaker 1:

You guys need to come out one time when we're pretty much done for the winter, so we won't have anything except indoor stuff. The new shit will be out come February. That's going to be fun. I know everything's been leaked, so a lot of people have seen it already. A lot of criticisms. I will tell you as somebody who has seen it, as somebody who has hit it I am begging everybody please hold your hate and hold your reservations until you see and hit the clubs. That's all I'm going to say. That's all I'm going to say. Just wait, don't go buy some cheesy video from some spoiler leaked photo talking shit about stuff, ranking the released photos on what they think is the best new driver uh, that's just clickbait horseshit.

Speaker 1:

Uh, just wait, wait until it comes out, wait until you hit it. Then then judge, and then, after you hit it and after you look at it, if you hate it, then god bless you. You're entitled to that opinion. Until then, shut the up hit your ai smoke.

Speaker 3:

Until then, hit your ai smoke and love it.

Speaker 3:

Until then, hit your ai smoke and love but not the mini driver all right, joe, take us home yo, thanks for tuning in to this episode of the Chasing Dead Eye podcast, episode 302.
