305: Golfing Under the Lights at Shadow Creek, PGA's Says Farewell to Vegas, and Another Slow Play Rant
What if golfing under the stars could transform Las Vegas into a night-time golfer’s paradise? This episode of the Chasing Daylight podcast explores that exciting possibility, along with the intriguing dynamics at play between PGA and LIV tour players. We kick things off by discussing the Crypto.com showdown at Shadow Creek and the surprising departure of the PGA Tour from Las Vegas after a 42-year tradition. Amidst the sports buzz in Vegas, we also share a lighthearted take on the Raiders’ rocky season and celebrate the Vegas Golden Knights’ winning streak, hinting at the exciting potential of a future NBA team joining the city's vibrant sports scene.
Our conversation takes an interesting turn as we recount the unique broadcast format of a recent golf tournament that left viewers scratching their heads. Rory McIlroy’s and Scottie Scheffler’s standout performances are front and center, while the evolving rivalry between Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka adds another layer of intrigue. We dive into the charm of Shadow Creek, the untapped potential of night golf, and how this could enhance the Las Vegas golf scene. Plus, we touch on the missed opportunities for courses like Angel Park to capitalize on this novel idea and the allure of playing iconic courses under the moonlight.
Finally, we tackle the age-old problem of slow play on the golf course with humor and a touch of frustration. From hilarious stories of grumpy marshals to creative suggestions like a “golfer’s license” for proper etiquette, we explore solutions to keep the game moving. We wrap up on a festive note, sharing warm holiday wishes and a few laughs over the infamous “Potty Putter” gift. As we sign off, we thank our listeners for their support, leaving them with a light-hearted reminder to embrace kindness and consider the thoughtfulness behind every gift this holiday season.

what is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight podcast. Vegas Golf is in the news. If you, or anybody or anyone that follows the golf world, vegas was center stage tonight as the Cryptocom showdown at Shadow wrapped up about an hour and a half ago. About what? About an hour and a half ago?
Speaker 2:I don't know, yeah, about an hour and a half ago um, so we're gonna be chatting about that.
Speaker 1:Uh, also in vegas golf news, the pga tour has decided 42 years was a long enough run. Uh, we're not going back to vegas. We had feelings that was gonna happen, but but that sucked. That sucked, our boy HasherHack. We'll have an update on that and then maybe get into a slow play rant. I don't know.
Speaker 1:I had in chipping and chatting earlier this week, I had a little talk about an idea that I had that, you know, some people liked it, some people didn't, but we'll see. And then also, big news, we'll do after the break, beautiful golf courses and us, the CDP, are teaming up for a fantasy golf league that you're going to want to find out about. So stick around for that. Other than that, you don't want to make sure that we stick around for that. Other than that, uh, you know, want to make sure that we give some love to the people who support us. Uh, that is, uh, the golf stop, roars, golf las vegas golf superstore and our friend scott russo from unwritten law.
Speaker 1:The intro we love it so how you fellas doing this evening doing well. Yeah, it's great fantastic fantastic, fantastic raiders were on monday night football, and what a game.
Speaker 5:What a fucking game. So good, oh, it was incredible.
Speaker 1:A 9, 15 shellacking at the end.
Speaker 5:Raiders are two and what two and twelve? Fucking, just what a what a fucking awesome. Hey, they, they. They said they pull out the win. They're seventh on the board for the draft. What 2-12? Fucking, just what a fucking awesome football team bro.
Speaker 1:They said they pull out the win. They're seventh on the board for the draft Now third number in the two spot.
Speaker 4:Yeah. Yeah, it's a bit of a shit show down there, but it's par for the course. You can say that for the last 20, 25 years.
Speaker 1:You know what I see? They're playing with heart and they're trying. They just don't have the tools right now, just shit dude.
Speaker 5:Yeah, just shit, Well I mean you know it starts at the top.
Speaker 4:You got a bad coach. You got a bad quarterback. You got a shit ton of injuries, so many injuries. It's a bad product.
Speaker 1:Yeah. And unfortunately, in the NFL. When that happens, you don't win games. So Raiders are struggling. The men's UNLV basketball team is struggling. They lost a heartbreaker tonight, last second on the road against the number 22 team in the country. That would have been a nice win. But somebody tweeted earlier today that the UNLV football team number 22 team in the country. That would have been a nice win. But another somebody uh tweeted earlier today that the uh unlv football team in back-to-back seasons has more wins than the men's basketball team in december.
Speaker 2:So, dude, that's so it's crazy when you think about unlv sports, though, like they used to be a force when it came to basketball oh yeah bro, like you have no idea jeremy like 1990.
Speaker 1:Bro, like you have no idea how I I love watching them in 1990, I bet 18 000 people packed in the team on tuesday nights gucci row, I mean god rebel room fucking it was crazyquet fucking short rib and banquet chicken breast Just flying.
Speaker 5:Just out of the banquet colanders. Someday It'll come back, it was glorious.
Speaker 1:It was absolutely glorious.
Speaker 5:Nothing lives forever, nope.
Speaker 1:We got the Knights on a hot run right now. They're doing well. I said earlier, you know, in my chipping and chatting tonight or earlier today, you know this is the hotbed of sports right now. We've got NFL team. We've got NHL franchise that won the Stanley Cup. The Aces have won multiple championships. You got the Formula One with its second year, two NASCAR races, two NHRA races, a marathon, the AAA baseball, aaa hockey. Now we got a basketball facility that's being built. So you know there's an NBA team coming.
Speaker 2:The A's are coming. The best damn rodeo in the world, yeah, the best damn rodeo ever.
Speaker 1:The best damn rodeo in the world yeah, best rodeo, rodeo in the world yeah, all kinds of we just had the super bowl, we had conference championships, the nfl draft, I mean, there's so much going on and, uh, you know the pg we got no golf looked that over and went man, there's no reason for us to be there. Yeah, it's absolutely pathetic, I think.
Speaker 2:I think it will make a return and it. You know how sometimes they change it up a little bit later in the year they can change the schedules. We'll see Maybe maybe someone will come through.
Speaker 1:Maybe somebody actually went. You know what? Yeah, october is awesome weather, but we can't have a pga event in vegas in october. We, we got to move this to spring, you know, and and get.
Speaker 5:I want to see him at fucking coyote, bro, like, like, that's what I'm dying to see. I want to see those guys at coyote. Yeah, I really do like, are it? Am I wrong there? Do you guys not want to see? I do want to, for sure. I mean, I know it's out there, right, but you know they can get shuttled, but I would love to see those guys play at Coyote Springs.
Speaker 1:What makes it so appealing for you to want to see them out there.
Speaker 5:I mean.
Speaker 1:I know why, but people listening may not know why.
Speaker 5:You can stretch it out to the length that they play on PGA right. They can play the length. The greens are not easy. It's not very forgiving, you know, and it's a hidden gem that a lot of people have no clue about, like even like people coming into town, they ask us what should we play? You know, and for us, like we know, coming into town, they ask us what should we play?
Speaker 5:You know, and for us, like we know, the courses that they should play, you know it used to be um prim was always one that we would suggest, but it's piute, boulder creek or coyote springs. Yep, I mean I'd love to see them play boulder creek too, but I don't think that has as much character as Coyote does. And obviously, with Corn Fairy going to Paiute, they ate that shit up and I think maybe they wouldn't be able to eat Coyote up as as much as the Corn Fairy did at Paiute. I know it's out there, but you know it's. It's not an easy golf course and I think it would provide a great test to the best players in the world and I would love to see what they can do out there dan, what's kyle kyle shoot out there if he plays it probably a couple under two to four under probably yeah, well, it depends on pins.
Speaker 5:You can like they can pins.
Speaker 1:He can do that. They're not going to make him Mitch's revenge pins they're going to make him.
Speaker 5:I know that.
Speaker 4:I agree with you for the most part, Joe. That's a good test. The one thing about it is that it's terrible to walk for guests and stuff and they won't that I won't pick a golf course that won't you know. Get people out there well, black desert is not an easy walk for spectators, that's true, that's true, but they do have room out there to put up grandstands and stuff. Um, I don't know if they could do that at uh, on certain roles, with all the empty house lots.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they could.
Speaker 4:I mean I'm sure they could but you know with all the shrubbery that's yeah, but not only that, but like, if you think about the golf course, there's really not a lot of home sites that are right on the golf course. You have all those shrubs and nasty rocks and then there.
Speaker 5:there's points where you pass under the bridge twice, like there's two different spots where you pass under the bridge twice. There's two different spots where you pass under the bridge Am I wrong.
Speaker 2:There You're right.
Speaker 1:You can put concessions there, they would have to have the clubhouse built where it's supposed to be built.
Speaker 5:Exactly On top of the ranch. Not a fucking trailer.
Speaker 1:Not a trailer.
Speaker 5:Hopefully in the future. I would love to see them out there. I mean, I think that is the hardest golf course in our vicinity. Am I wrong there?
Speaker 1:I would be curious what's so high is rated now that they've moved the fairways in. You know that they've tightened that place up, just as I.
Speaker 5:I know it's shorter and it's, uh, a little bit more forgiving than than coyote, but I well, when those, when the coyote greens are quick, like I don't think there's anything harder, so I I would just I would love to see them out there.
Speaker 1:I would love badlands maybe back in the day oh, that's gone.
Speaker 5:I would just love to see them out there, I think. I think it'd be really cool to see those guys out there, because they should get the skins game out there that'd be really rad, that would be cool. That would be cool yeah, so uh well that's supposed to be coming back, right yeah, they're supposed to be yeah, so that'd be great.
Speaker 1:I'd love it we'll uh keep our ears to the, you know, ears to the ground, and if we hear something, I mean the schedule's out. So 2025, it's gone it. You know there's no PGA Tour event in Vegas this year. Haven't seen the live schedule yet, but based on the ads that I saw during the showdown tonight certainly looked like Vegas is still in the mix, because there was a lot of Vegas in that. They still haven't released a full schedule for that Dan shared earlier. Earlier there was rumbling all over the place that uh, fox sports and them, or with the live, is about to uh have a deal, which I mean it's got to be better than the cw.
Speaker 5:But that would help.
Speaker 1:It would help a little bit but my, my beef with it is, you know, no, no matter the product. If the product is good, people are going to watch it, no matter what it's on. You know, the CW wasn't the reason why people weren't watching it. Yeah, true, in my opinion it's because the product is just trash Opinion.
Speaker 5:Opinion. It also wasn't Faraday.
Speaker 1:It was great to hear Faraday on the broadcast tonight, yeah yeah I mean people, I think is, I think I, I think it's a scramble format.
Speaker 5:I think it's like players are playing different holes and in different order, which is hard to put out there. It's hard I mean when we were on the grounds you don't know how many holes are left.
Speaker 1:It got a little, you know, turn around where, and especially because they mixed the holes up for us, because what we're used to and they flipped it and it was just an odd with that. But I don't know, I just didn't get, I just don't get the product on tv. I think it could be better, but hey, so, uh, jeremy's talked with him a little bit before we hopped on here. He, he saw a little bit of it, joe. You saw some of it. Dan, did you watch most of it tonight? Yeah, I watched.
Speaker 1:Uh, yeah, pretty much all of it, pretty much all of it all right, good, so we got. We have some decent feedback here. Uh, we'll start with you, dan, since you you saw probably the second most because I watched it from from the beginning, so I don't know if you watch the whole thing or not, but, uh, what was your, what was your overall thoughts of what took place?
Speaker 4:um, I definitely liked a lot better than the uh, last one with, like, gritsky and all that stuff. Um, I mean, I, that was hard to watch. Um, but when you have the top players in the world, especially from the PGA, I'd say the top two players are probably Rory and Scotty, and then arguably from Liv, it's Brooks and him I mean Rom's up there too. But it was just good to see all those guys back playing again. It's crazy to see the evolution of the Bryce and Brooksy feud, that now they're pals and stuff. So I thought it was good. I thought it was. I can't wait for the PGA to get their ass moving and get these guys back on their one tour again so we can see them all playing again. But it was awesome.
Speaker 4:The course looked great. It looked tough. The greens looked very hard. Those guys had, yeah, those guys had a tough time stopping that again. But uh, it was, it was awesome. The course looked great, looked tough. The greens look, uh, very hard. Um, those guys had, yeah, those guys had a tough time stopping that ball today. But, um, as always, um, you know, shadow creek is the showcase and uh, it looked really good under the lights, especially like right at uh, like that golden hour, because you can see the sky and the three.
Speaker 1:They're playing three and four. Yeah, yeah, like oh yeah, yeah, that was. Uh, that was looking real nice out there bryson's t shot on four, almost landed on the three fairway. He hit that so far left.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was, it was yeah, there was definitely some wild shots from those guys tonight from bryson and brooks yeah, uh, I mean scott scotty and rory handled him pretty easily I was chatting with uh buddy nick at la at LA Golf and I was like Rice is not doing a really good job of selling new gear for you guys right now because his putting was off and the new driver he was spraying it.
Speaker 5:Yeah, I mean, do you think that's a thing where they you know they're, they're good, right, Like they don't need to win tournaments, Like do you think that's an actual thing where they don't grind as hard as the guys on PGA tour?
Speaker 1:Well, I think when you're making video content playing from the forward tees and then spend. You know.
Speaker 5:What about hitting over your house?
Speaker 1:I mean, you're hitting a shot over your house. You know a wet shot over your house, you know, I mean that's.
Speaker 2:That's not real golf, it's not competitive.
Speaker 4:He grinds, though I think I'm sure he does too he's dude, he's a talent, it's yeah, I think a lot of it has to do too with the fact that they do play a more relaxed schedule. Like you know, pga tour, you know those guys are there's significant tournaments where you can play in four or five weeks in a row, six week spans. They're not doing that at live, you know. They're playing one week, taking three weeks off and going back and playing another one. You know. So I think there's little gaps in in time where they they're not as dialed or get a little lazy.
Speaker 5:That's the thing. It's easy to get out of that groove right, like if you're not in the pga tour, like schedule, like you can go home for a week or you play a tournament for a week and then you're off for four weeks and it's just like I can chill, my bank account is stacked like I don't have to worry about it. And uh, that can be a case depending on where you live. Also, like if you're not, if you're not around players where they're able to play money games, because a lot of these guys play money games with a lot of people that in the vicinity where they live.
Speaker 4:So, and you got to think too. You know, scotty just won world hero, so he's still in form, in competition, form over great field. Rory just won the race to Dubai again.
Speaker 5:So you know, brooks and bryson, they've been hitting shots over their house, so I haven't seen him play in long like I don't even know yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4:So I mean can't really be surprised by the result yeah, no, and there was.
Speaker 1:Surprisingly. I was shocked. Uh, I thought there would be some William Hill action on the showdown but it wasn't on the board. Shout out.
Speaker 5:William Hill.
Speaker 1:Shout out William Hill for not participating in the farce.
Speaker 5:Were you going to bet on Rory and Scotty?
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 5:Okay, so they owe you $10 then yeah, $5 probably.
Speaker 1:You can't not bet on Scotty I mean, come on, it's the one and two players in the world, like you said, and they've been playing golf. Yeah, yeah, they've been playing.
Speaker 5:Honestly, I really thought I really thought brooks and bryson were probably gonna win, like I. I don't know why I felt that, but I was incorrect yeah.
Speaker 1:Jeremy, what'd you think?
Speaker 2:I'm definitely buying a Reebok coat. So that was that was the highlight for me. And the shoes definitely the dad shoes for sure, getting those. No, I, I, I didn't finish it. I only watched the first six holes, so I have a bunch to watch still, but the course was incredible. It just makes you want to play there even more. I'm really trying to justify setting aside some money every month to throw down a shadow.
Speaker 2:Yeah yeah, it was probably the best the first six holes I watched. It's probably the best one of those things that I've watched in a while. I don't remember another one that had me that interested. So I'm excited to finish it.
Speaker 1:Real golfers. You know real golfers. Thank you, please. Let's see. Westgate had it. Pga was 160-ish all week. All right, what's up William Hill? What's up with that?
Speaker 4:Come on, Billy. Yeah, yeah, joe, side note did you guys see that they're bringing back the Skins game?
Speaker 5:Yeah, they need to play Coyote Springs.
Speaker 1:Oh, they need to have. What is it? Here it is. We got some breaking news. Uh. Alessandro, chiming in on instagram, talked with his gm waiting for her reply and solution for king of the green, all right, so keep our fingers crossed for that. Any vgn members listening?
Speaker 5:shout out aj yes, thank you.
Speaker 1:he's helping facilitate the king of the green at Popstroke and what we're going to do is, whoever we're not going to have a small limited field. As many VGN guys that want to show up and participate in this, we can, and Joe had a beautiful suggestion Take the top 32 scores, you qualify for the tournament side of it and we'll whittle it down from there. So, uh, it won't be limited to 32 players this time. We can have 33 or 34.
Speaker 1:so yeah, that'll be a good time yeah, we're gonna do it on a weeknight, uh, not weekend, uh, so we can kind of. It's a little cooler out right now, but they got heaters out there, they got amazing food, the bar is right there and during the week it won't be as crowded and so we can kind of, you know, maybe take over the facility and have a good time.
Speaker 5:I need Popstroke to like release a fucking season pass. They have one.
Speaker 1:Unlimited play for $30 a month.
Speaker 5:a month oh okay, I didn't know that. Yeah or aj, or ag, aj, aj, yeah, he's, aj, he's aj, let everybody know what it is.
Speaker 1:I I may be underselling it. I don't know if it was um yeah, what I mean?
Speaker 5:pop stroke is great. I mean they should be a sponsor of the podcast, because we talk about them all the time.
Speaker 2:I mean what a?
Speaker 5:fantastic facility, two courses. You can go out there, play all the time. You play all day. You pay like 30 bucks. Fantastic food really great beer selections and if you got a sweet tooth, get some ice cream Really good ice cream. The nachos are bomb too. It's the spot to be. Cliff hasn't been yet, surprisingly, but you should go check it out Cliff's busy playing, checking off every course he can.
Speaker 4:Cliff's playing every course at Pioneers right now. He says fuck Pop Street.
Speaker 5:He did get in play tobacco, though it looks like that that was that the first checkoff for tobacco, I think I saw.
Speaker 1:So yeah, he played that today.
Speaker 5:He said it's a soul golfer seven.
Speaker 4:So clips my spirit animal what is a?
Speaker 5:a fantastic spirit animal, if you human as a spirit animal joe.
Speaker 1:What did you? What is, what is your thoughts on the showdown at shadow?
Speaker 5:I mean, I, I watched, I watched uh from 11 on. Uh, kids were eating, so I couldn't focus too much on it. But, um, I just wanted, I just wanted to go play shadow creek, because that's the one that I gotta check off, you know. So it's. It's a fantastic facility, golf course, and I have yet to play it, and that that was my main takeaway. I want to go play shadow creek. It'll happen one day. I have no, I have no concerns that I I won't get to play. I know I'm gonna play it one day. However it happens, it will happen one of these days.
Speaker 1:But, um, yeah, this make you want to play it more, or you want to play it as well yeah, equally as well.
Speaker 5:I mean, I would love to play it under the lights.
Speaker 3:That would be really cool a lot of people can't say they've done it that way, you know.
Speaker 5:Yeah, I mean dude Shadow Creek could do whatever they want, right, like they could open it up to all the ballers of MGM Properties and they could charge us $700 to go play at night, you know, and we'd probably pay it, you know.
Speaker 1:Well, that's what I was thinking. Uh, you know, they have these, these high rollers that come in there and what, what do you think? How many requests do you think they have gotten to? What's it going to cost me to play at night? Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I mean, you got all these people with this fu money that you know there's only yeah only phil and tiger, and now rory scotty bryson well, phil tiger only played the 19th hole under the lights, I know, but it was at night, so I'm just I'm you know, before I say, the only guys that have played it at night will have you know. Heavy breather comments about uh hey, what about? What about tiger?
Speaker 5:most of these people. They'd have to be like, hey, you gotta install extra lights in the trees because I'm not gonna find my ball, you know so but do you think there's somebody out there that's going all right?
Speaker 1:what's it gonna take for me to get my crew out there to play at night? Do they just do?
Speaker 5:they just say just say, I mean in the in the prime months, like in spring and like October, like there's people that would love to do that and maybe they make that a thing. I mean, if they're going to do it for the match, they would probably do it for a big whale in the casino, you know. So I could really only see that being a summertime thing. I don't think they're gonna want to be out there like tonight.
Speaker 5:No, no, oh, no not tonight, but like, like, like april to october, sure dude, I would, I would love to.
Speaker 1:I would love to see piute go okay. 2025. From june 1st to July 15th, the Wolf course is night golf only and we have it lit up and it's normally 125. During the day, it's 225, or sorry, let me rephrase that it's normally $300 in the day, it's 375 to play at night.
Speaker 5:Well, any course in Las Vegas that doesn't see this tonight and realize there's a huge opportunity for them to put out night golf is absolutely fucking crazy. You could do it anywhere in Las Vegas. You could do it at Angel Park, you could do it at Desert Pines Valley High, wherever. I think that courses with houses won't be.
Speaker 2:I don't yeah.
Speaker 1:You couldn't do it at Revere, you couldn't do it at Legacy.
Speaker 5:I know they wouldn't let you want you't do it at Revere, you couldn't do it at Legacy. I know they wouldn't let you want you to do it, but any course that doesn't see this and try and capitalize this on this opportunity is absolutely insane.
Speaker 1:Did you know that Wild Horse has lights at the range For a long?
Speaker 5:time yes.
Speaker 1:Wild Horse has lights at the range.
Speaker 5:Yeah, they don't turn them on.
Speaker 1:No, do you know why?
Speaker 5:Darden said he could, he could put the. Darden said he could light up the entire course if he wanted us to. Yeah, back in the day.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think if Wild Horse could get the word out that they have a night range, they would kill it. Oh yeah, they said they used to and that nobody knew it was open, because it's so dark and it's so far off the street nobody could see it.
Speaker 4:What did that last post say? The last comment you can transfer what?
Speaker 1:You can transfer $30,000 into your bank account and play shadow creek, yeah marriott points takes three hundred dollars off the shadow price record bonus so you can get the mario points I look at cliff finding ways, finding ways, cliff finds a lot of ways that's the points guy, I think he's, he's the point he's got a lot of points. He's got more well, yeah, I mean, if he started a youtube he'd probably have a lot of.
Speaker 5:he'd probably give me a lot of money if he just had a youtube. That's the only one I gotta check out. But but what I'm saying is is, from what happened tonight, any course in Vegas that can replicate that would prosper. That's all I'm saying, because there is a market that is unfulfilled in Las Vegas and a course in Vegas should capitalize on that opportunity. That's all I'm saying. I don't care where it is there's houses If there's where it is, there's houses if there's wherever it is. People want to play golf at night, especially during the summer, because it's too hot during the day you know we got cloud nine, but cloud nine doesn't fill the the void that you want.
Speaker 5:If somebody can figure it out, they would make. I mean, it might take a few years for them to recoup their investment, but it will happen, that's all.
Speaker 1:I'm saying. The question is though why hasn't it?
Speaker 5:Yeah, and Hesherhack says I'm shocked with the heat. Night golf isn't already a thing in Vegas?
Speaker 1:Phoenix too.
Speaker 5:All we have is a lit-up par 3.
Speaker 1:There's a couple lit up ranges at night in phoenix, but I don't. If I'm correct, I don't think there's a 18 hole course that's lit up grass and grass clippings
Speaker 5:yeah grass clippings, yeah, grass clippings is the first one and that opened last year okay, so it's relatively new yeah, so did las vegas golf center close clothes, or it's their sign says clothes for repairs.
Speaker 1:But I heard something about the land that they're on was purchased a couple different rumors are swirling uh, that it was part of the airport expansion and the airport now has the rights to the land. Other reports are that it's going under new management, the old owners have let it go and a new company is coming in to take it over. But I haven't got confirmation from any of that.
Speaker 4:Yeah, that's what I heard too, Matt. I heard the same thing. It's going to stay a golf course. It's just going to go through some rebranding.
Speaker 5:Yeah, okay, shout out, mike Lindecky, we go through some rebranding. Yeah, okay, shout out, mike lindeckey, we know who that is. But we've been saying this for years. Yeah, we've been saying this for years.
Speaker 2:It's it'd be so no-brainer for them no
Speaker 5:brainer?
Speaker 1:absolutely no brainer I think maybe the only.
Speaker 5:Thing that's geez. Shout out wisconsin cheese.
Speaker 1:Maybe the only thing preventing that from happening is the airport not wanting lights up there, because I can't imagine why they would not have at least had nine holes. Let's just do the nine on the inside, forget the outside. They would kill it, they would murder it, they would absolutely kill it, kill it. They could get that $ 250 out of town rate for nine holes all night long, yeah, all night, yeah, all night, all night, all night. Oh hey, look, got some uh youtube royalty dude the friends on the Verde in the house.
Speaker 5:Friends on the Verde.
Speaker 1:That's hilarious. Trey was out on Saturday and, yeah, did the three-hole Luxor loop, and we got a lot of video. Did the three hole Luxor loop? Um and uh, we got a lot of video. I've been sharing some of those stories and and reels on our YouTube page and on Instagram, so there's some good stuff out there. Uh, we'll, we'll chat about the pace of play and a little bit out there. But hey, while while uh, hesh is in here, let's let me bring this up and we'll have our you know ode to the hack for his. Make sure it's on the right thing.
Speaker 1:Do, do, do, do, do do do, do, do do, do, do do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. There it is. You can see that last week we had him up to 104 and then all of a sudden it stopped. That's because this happened.
Speaker 5:Is he playing Pine Valley now? You've got to hook me up Virtual hole-in-one Virtual hole-in-one.
Speaker 1:To be continued. You've got the virtual hole-in-one, virtual hole-in-one, to be continued. So you know, you got the virtual, still got to get the real one.
Speaker 2:Job's not done. Looks like the Lujanac a little bit. Job's not done, Damn I didn't see that.
Speaker 5:Congrats. Congrats on the virtual.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes. So making his way to a real golf course soon, as soon as weather permits, so keep an eye on.
Speaker 5:I saw him playing in the snow the other day.
Speaker 1:So yeah, a little foot slippage, yeah Too funny.
Speaker 5:All right.
Speaker 1:So I'll let you guys know what I thought about the showdown. I think a lot of people expect these things to be an entertainment. You know they. They want the entertainment and unfortunately there's just not characters in the game Like there used to be. You know, payne Stewart was a great chatter and, and you know, john Daly and all these guys. It's just, that's just not the way it is anymore. These guys like to showcase their talents on the course. They're really not into the shucking and jiving and hamming it up. Tnt Charles Barkley he was good tonight.
Speaker 1:They didn't go totally off script and have some weird-ass person that nobody knew out there reporting on it. Bubba Watson, I thought, was wondering why he was there and holding a microphone. Like what am I doing? Why Colt Nose wasn't there is beyond me. That's a big miss, for I think the television aspects of it miss, for I think the television aspects of it.
Speaker 1:To Faraday, I think he was just trying to get in as many live tidbits as he could.
Speaker 1:Trevor Illman didn't really seem like he cared, but there was some really good golf being played on, you know, one of the more exclusive courses in the country, uh, as I was tweeting.
Speaker 1:Or on x, uh, going, you know doing posting as much as I could, seeing what a lot of people were talking about and how they they think that shadow somebody said a lot of empty calories was the word they used. That, you know it's. It's a lot of a lot of hype, but it's just basic golf which used that. You know it's it's a lot of a lot of hype, but it's just basic golf, which I don't know how you can say that If you've been on the golf course it's absolutely spectacular. Yeah, it's more of a traditional style, fazio, but you have to look at what they did and where they did it, and that is what makes shadow special. I really wish they could have taken a little bit more time during the down times instead of having dead air or bubble watson, you know talking for no reason. Show what actually took place at shadow creek, you know.
Speaker 1:Go back to some of the old footage show all the dirt that they moved and and show you know what it went from to what it is now and maybe have people go. Wow, you know some people do. I mean, you see a lot of people post the photos from 2000 where it's, you know, north las vegas, with nothing around it but this green patch that doesn't tell the story. You know, um, they could have done a steve win interview, they could have had a fazio interview, they could have had so many different ways to bring in you know they. All they did was hype up the conditions and how pure it was. Well, let's get the greenskeeper on there and you know the head superintendent, and let's let's talk to him and hey, what's it?
Speaker 1:like for you guys to maintain this.
Speaker 5:You know, I think that's a big, massive part of what's missing in golf television nowadays, like the aspect of what has been and what has been, if you will, where we have been and where we will be what has been. You know what I mean.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 4:Sound like Kamala right now. That's what I was trying to do.
Speaker 5:You guys can catch it really quick. But what I'm saying is is like create the story, like tell the story of where we are now, like tell the story of where we are now, and you know, and I think, for these things, like they could really travel.
Speaker 5:If they really want to blow these up, like bring in I would. That's what I was trying to do, guys, if you know. But like, bring in the YouTube golfers, like for something like this, like I don't, I don't care to hear them, but if they're, if, if it really is trying to blow it up and trying to bring these guys in I don't know, mark.
Speaker 1:I disagree with that. I know a lot of people that were watching that have no idea about shadow creek. They just know that it's expensive and it's in vegas yeah, I.
Speaker 5:So for anybody that doesn't know about shadow creek, like the a lot of people that are watching to have no idea that was a flat piece of fucking desert. You know, and if you've ever been on property and you know the las vegas landscape and you've walked, that I mean the first time I was there I was like how the fuck did they do this? How the fuck did fazio build this hole? Because I mean, I hope that there was cameras on site when they were building it, because I would love to see that footage, because there's some uh, what is it?
Speaker 5:number one is it two, two, two dips way down, like you saw them walking up the hill after they hit the tee shots.
Speaker 1:You saw them walking up that hill, but they didn't show the descent and you really couldn't see the difference between the one green and that low point on two. It's insane, it's in fucking sane.
Speaker 5:It's in fucking sane. It was a flat desert and this thing goes down 50, 60 feet. It goes, it dips, like there is in front of the green. It goes down 50, 60 feet and if you know the las vegas landscape, like that was not there and what fazio did on, like that hole, specifically that's the one that sticks out to me and even, what is it? Uh, two, three, four, five, is that the one with the tree, the single tree? Yeah, I mean it's. It's absolutely incredible. I mean I know it's fabricated, the hell was that it?
Speaker 5:was the gong oh okay, the the golf was not there right like not. Like you know, band in the golf was kind of there like it's not saint andrews and the goats were out there fucking clipping the grass.
Speaker 1:But robbie said, without shadow it would have been off by the alternate shot.
Speaker 5:Yeah, I don't know, I don't know, but I would, but I agree with you I'm gonna close up, matt. I agree with you. I think they should go into archival footage and trying to create the story of what has taken place in that land, and because that's the shit I love, just that's some of the stuff that they could do in the downtime you know, it's not necessarily let's turn this into a 30 minute segment on how awesome fazio did. But no, I mean there's tell a story, that's all it is.
Speaker 1:Tell a fucking story and and you know, show the show the locker room and show you know some of the history of the place
Speaker 5:yeah, there's so many cool things that you show how many new eras they have in the pro shop. But I I enjoyed watching boris was there tonight yeah, he's listening, yeah he said it was very cool I uh because of the the Bryson's jacket.
Speaker 1:Um, oh yeah, I lost my train of thought. Sorry, oh four was jaw dropping.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's so it's so good it's. I mean, it's just spectacular out there. So, but I, I, I risk, I like seeing the best players playing golf. You know, yes, uh, I really liked it because it was shadow creek, but I mean, if you know, this was done somewhere else. I mean they did it under the lights, the last one, but it was this. It was the gimmicky shit.
Speaker 1:I, I like seeing real golfers playing a real golf course. You know, with with some, you know bragging rights at least. You know, with with some you know bragging rights at least. You know at least now Rory and those guys can say, hey, we whooped their ass and you know, then tell it happens again. That's, that's the shit that gets to get talked. I, you know it's. It's hard to be have a TV product like this. When you have, you know, a small group playing one hole at a time, it's much easier. When you have, you know, a small group playing one hole at a time, it's much easier when you have, you know, 10 groups on the course and you can switch back and forth the different shots being taken place. So there's a lot of filler and you have to have a lot of filler and unfortunately, I don't think the people they had on the broadcast tonight were the right people to fill those spots, so they should have done it about it some other way but we'll see.
Speaker 5:We'll see, hire us, we'll be there we can talk about it we talked about how this was a flat piece of desert and how fazio killed it, you know it would have been awesome if they could have.
Speaker 1:You know hired us yeah, had some people. Yeah, that too. If they would have had some people to talk about the place a little bit more. I mean, we it's not like it's necessary, but just to add to the entertainment. I was there to watch the golf and it happened to be taking place at Shadow, so I was a little bit more intrigued. Which being crushed. Alright, let's do our commercial break and then we will be right back.
Speaker 3:There's always gift cards in any amount for those special golfers on your list. Las Vegas Golf Superstore by Worldwide Golf, proudly serving golfers since 1974. And home of the legendary 90-day satisfaction guarantee. Get there, get there.
Speaker 1:All right, you guys got all your Christmas shopping done.
Speaker 5:Nope.
Speaker 1:No Sort of.
Speaker 5:What are you waiting for? Joe Time, this guy. Are you a Christmas Eve shopper?
Speaker 1:No, I'm usually like way out, but you know, maybe put the crypto phone down for a couple of hours and go handle some business.
Speaker 5:No, it's not that it's kids work. I drop the kids off at daycare, I go to work, pick the kids up from daycare, feed them dinner, and it's like when do I go? Amazon man lifesaver I like, I like, I'm a, I'm a tactical, I'm a tactile guy. You know, I like to, I like to see it, I like that. Oh yeah, that works yeah, I was.
Speaker 1:Uh, I did some shopping the other day out and out in the real world. It was weird. It's been a while since I've done that I'm a real world kind of guy man. You know I'm a punk, if you will I just like the, uh, the added convenience of being able to have somebody drop that shit off at your house for you I, I get it. I I understand that, but you know scrambling on december 23rd to pick up gifts is a tradition unlike any other 100 100 my favorite lately is that the targetcom purchases.
Speaker 2:you just pull up to the parking lot and they just they're there, waiting there for you yeah, all the time kate does my favorite part about that is when you get home and you're like, oh, I didn't order this sweet.
Speaker 5:And then you're like, wait a minute, where's what I did order my whole thing is is like you have to know what you're trying to find online and if, if you go into the store you're able to like have a variety of things you can choose from.
Speaker 1:Otherwise, online you have to like zone in so here here's something that uh, as someone who is semi-retired, doesn't work much and I do all the grocery shopping for the house and all that stuff.
Speaker 1:You want to watch something that's hilarious. Go into an Albertsons, find the 16-year-old kid that's pulling all the food for the drive-up orders and just watch them, because they'll find out quickly that they have no idea what the hell they're doing. And they will pull up to a section to look up something and they'll look at the phone and they'll look at the car, the the wall where all the products are, and they'll look at the phone and then you just see them shrug their shoulders and grab something, throw it in and go. It's why we stopped doing the mobile pickups and just I'm. You know I'm tired of all the mistakes.
Speaker 5:I'll just go get it myself, but I mean, they're trying exactly with christmas presents. There you go, that's all you gotta say exactly so uh yeah, funny stuff.
Speaker 1:All right, uh. So two things uh, we're gonna get to to wrap up the show this week. Um, the first is, uh, we're gonna talk about, uh, pga Fantasy League with Beautiful Golf Courses and then we'll get into the slow play stuff. So if you guys have been following the show at all over the last couple months, you know that Beautiful Golf Courses does an annual charity auction for the Four Hadley Foundation where they reach out through their amazing network of contacts with all kinds of golf courses all across the country and, uh, you can basically bid on foursomes or a company threesomes at some pretty spectacular golf courses all across the country.
Speaker 1:Um, you know, we've known about it for a couple of years. We actually participate, participated in this year we're going to be going to Arizona in the springtime to talk out a couple that we're incredibly excited about and probably would not have gotten the opportunity to play there had it not been for BGC. So last year we did a podcast rendition of the PGA tour fantasy league where we reached out to a bunch of different golf podcasts and said, hey, want to do this with us. We're just going to. You know, pick no skin in the game. No, nothing, just bragging rights and, like the first five weeks, it was awesome and then nobody started, nobody played anymore and there was no skin in the game and, and you know, we get it.
Speaker 1:So I was thinking of a way to put skin in the game, and so I was thinking, oh, we'll just tell everybody 25 bucks they could play for a pot, um, and we'll open it up to our listeners and anybody. And uh, then the auction happened and I'm like, oh, I've got a really good idea. So I reached out to mike and I said, hey, what? What? If we do this? It's going to be a $50 entry fee for anybody that wants to get into this fantasy golf league. Um, you know, we're going to have to. It'll be an Instagram account or some. Some way we can verify who you are. So we know who this is going to. Um, you pay the entry fee, we'll give you the link to join the Fantasy League and, at the end of the season, the pot, the pot. So let's say we have, you know, 20 people sign up for it. 50 bucks, $1,000. Is that right math? Math right Clark County math.
Speaker 1:So okay, so you know, $1,000 that the winners will be able to use in the auction. So that's how BGC is involved with this. So you basically would, whatever the pot is, however many people we sign up it could be $1,000, it could be $2,000, it could be $3,000, the more people we get, the more people we get you would basically have a three thousand dollar, two thousand dollar credit on the auction to bid for, um, uh, an outing and there are some pretty amazing outings on there, um, so yeah, absolutely, this is like what was what? Did we totally pay for everything, dan, it's, I mean uh, yeah, both rounds um.
Speaker 1:I think it was just about 15 yeah, so I mean, for that's four people for two days at two private courses in in payson, arizona. It's an amazing deal and and there's so many other ones that are better. So this is what I recommend get your your foursome, everybody, enter it and you've got a one in four chance of your group winning this and go play a sick-ass golf course for 50 bucks. It is an amazing opportunity. We're not keeping any of the money. I'm going to run it on the PGA Fantasy League. All the rules and everything will be posted on there.
Speaker 5:And if you lose, it's going to a good cause. Exactly, I'm going to be entering.
Speaker 1:I know these three guys on the screen with me are going to be entering because that gives us a one in four chance to go play an amazing golf course for $50. So and the more people that enter, the bigger the purse can be and you don't have to spend it all in one auction. The bigger the purse can be and you don't have to spend it all on one auction, you know you can find.
Speaker 4:You can get two or three.
Speaker 1:You can get four or five, depending on how many people they enter. It's true, mike said thank you so much. Love it, fellas. Awesome stuff. Count me in for the league. And he's got to run Long night in the hospital, so he's working night and day.
Speaker 1:Have a good night, so I'm going to post this on. I'll do a blog post on the breakfast ball so everybody can see it there. I'll post it in our stories and I'll put a link in the Instagram description for everybody. So, please, everybody, if it's, if you don't know about the auction, go check it out. Go follow BGC beautiful golf courses, and I think this could be something that we could really help them get over that hump. Uh, clearing the hundred thousand dollar donation because, uh, we really wanted that to happen this year.
Speaker 1:It's fell a little short so, uh, we're going to do everything we can to help them. So absolutely I'm excited about that.
Speaker 2:That I mean yeah one is going to keep your skin.
Speaker 1:It's going to keep you in the game, so people will play all season long. And then you imagine coming down to the last tournament where, holy shit, you know, there's a whatever amount of pot that we get to spend this on golf yeah, ah, so bucks yeah, 50 bucks. So, uh, thanks mike for allowing us to do that in the four hadley foundation. You know it's also good if?
Speaker 5:if nobody joins, then it's just us four competing against each other and we're gonna win yeah, so just so a nice 200 pot, yeah, yeah 200 dollars, 200 dollars.
Speaker 2:Yeah, $200. $200.
Speaker 1:Woo, no, we need 20 people we need 20 people, minimum. At least 40 people would be amazing and there's so many of our followers have huge followings, so many of the listeners have amazing contacts. Everybody needs to know about this and we need to get this up to a four or five thousand dollar pot and really give away or not give away award to one person, whoever wins an amazing time at some pretty amazing golf courses, because this what this does.
Speaker 1:What this does is this boosts the people who really want to play these courses, like the really nice, like Dismal River and what were some of the other ones. Joe, that were.
Speaker 4:Dismal Brooms Edge. Brooms Edge was on there.
Speaker 5:Yeah, there's a lot of fantastic golf courses, so many good ones.
Speaker 1:But a lot of those get bought up by corporate guys that are you know. Hey, I'm going to take these out. I got four grand, I can drop on this, no problem, you know, and just boom, it blows it out. This allows you to compete against those people, absolutely. Yeah, all right, all right. So stay tuned for that information. I'll get on that, because the season starts in a couple weeks, so it's going to be a hard push for everybody to get on this. So don't wait. If you have any questions or you want to get in on it, start sending me messages mysoccaldgolflife, mysoccaldgolflife, or on our CDP IG, because that's probably where I'm going to run most of it out of.
Speaker 4:Real quick. Did you see the Ireland auction, the six rounds or the five rounds, in Ireland?
Speaker 1:What did it end up?
Speaker 4:going for Like $1,500. Six rounds like five days in Ireland. That's insane.
Speaker 1:Sorry, go ahead. Yeah right, you met for $50. Can you imagine? That for $50? Yeah, that'd be insane. You could charge your friends $1,000.
Speaker 4:Your hero ships. Free your airfare. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, everything.
Speaker 5:So there's a lot of ways this could be beneficial for you, and we'll get it going.
Speaker 1:Yep, yep, yep, yep, all right, so we, dan, you weren't there so you don't know what was going on, but I'm sure you understand we had a group in front of us at Coyote. That was like the epitome of slow, and we said something to the marshal because it took us almost 240 to play the front, maybe 245. And at Coyote, coyote's a tough course, course. So if you're having a bad day I can see how it can take some time, uh. But the marshal said he talked to him a couple times and then we get to 10, we're on, we're in the 10 fairway, and you know I was following you guys in a cart. So I stopped and I chatted with them and I'm like what's going on ahead of them? And he's like, well, let me look. He's like there's a couple slow ones out there, but you know I only got two red flags and that's those guys. And I'm like, okay, cause you know we're, we're 10, almost 11 holes in and it's been three hours. This is ridiculous. He's like, yeah, I'll talk to him.
Speaker 1:So, probably the most proactive Marshall I've encountered in a long time. He was actively going up to these guys and saying let's move, let's move, let's go, let's go and they basically were like fuck you, no. And uh, on 16,. Uh, if anybody knows, coyote, 600 yard par five. Uh, the boys were playing the tips, tips, um. So they're in the fairway. The group in front of them is just off the green on the approach area. They're 260 yards away from that group, haven't hit a 210 yard shot off the tee the entire day and they're waiting for them. The marshal was next to them, talking to them, telling them to pick it up. He drove over to the cart path, came up to us and was telling us that he's talking to him and we go. Uh, well, they're still there and he was shocked. He's like what turned around, saw they had not moved from when he was talking to them and went back and talked to him again. So I mean, this was all day long it was. It was terrible.
Speaker 2:Uh, juju, I'm sure you heard it from trey, I mean just yeah, they sat there for like we were on that whole waiting for like 15 minutes oh my god, and they sat there. When the group ahead of them cleared the green, they were still sitting there.
Speaker 1:They weren't doing anything, they were just sitting in their carts and uh.
Speaker 1:So I was like I go, man, it would be awesome if they could just turn their carts off and let us play through. And then I was thinking I I'm like you know, with all the technology that we have now and golf cart GPSs and geofencing, you know how about the golf courses go, flash them a warning on the GPS, you are 20 minutes behind pace, you are slowing up. Golfers behind you Pick it up, or we're, you know, suspending your cart until the group behind you passes or until you know we get caught up? And uh, I know it, I know probably never happened. But what, what, what can golf courses do when you have a group that has been warned multiple, multiple, multiple times that they are playing slow and they need to pick it up, and they won't, what do you do?
Speaker 2:shut their fucking cards down yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean there has to be, I mean it is. There's no punishment for this crime. It is. I mean it is a crime because you are basically stealing time from the people behind you. You know there is a pace that they want you to play at and when you're not playing at that pace and you have been warned you are now stealing the time from the people behind you that's the thing, man.
Speaker 5:I had things to do right like oh, you were ready to leave.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was about. No one wanted you to leave?
Speaker 5:yeah, of course, and if I have to leave, then I have to like uh, somebody has to drive me to the, you know, and then it slows the other people down you know it's just like you just gotta be fucking respectful man.
Speaker 5:Like, and people don't. People don't see that like you know they're in their own world. I get it right, it might be your one time a month. It gets plague off, but just fucking plague off. Like if you lose your ball, just fucking drop a ball. Like I don't even keep score. Like who gives a fuck, dude, at the end of the day, and you're probably betting a dollar, maybe five dollars on a hole, maybe I mean probably not five dollars maybe a dollar on a hole. Like who gives a fuck about the dollar? Dude, chill.
Speaker 5:Like you just fucking play the game, dude have fun, they fun, they were dropping ball marks on a foot one and a half foot two foot putt. And they were putting their putter covers on the opposite side from the cart. Like why are you dropping your shit over here when it's all the way to the green?
Speaker 1:One thing that I knew we were in trouble on the on the third hole, the par three, we pull up to the green or we pull up to the t-box and there's two guys, there's four guys, standing on the green one guy's chipping just off the green and the other guy's on the green. They both hit putts. And then the other two guys walk almost to the cart path where their balls were and they hit their pitch shots and I was like what the fuck were you doing, you know? And one guy had a little pitch shot over the bunker. So I'm like I hope he clears the bunker, you know. And and a couple times I rolled up. Because I rolled up, I was out there, uh, shooting videos and taking pictures. Well, not taking pictures, shooting video. I get up to the green a couple times and, bill, that was a four putt. Right, you guys are having us wait for four putts.
Speaker 1:It's like oh my god.
Speaker 2:You can still have fun and you can still order drinks from the cart girl, and or you can still do all that and play very fast. It's just, I mean, a lot of people don't know cart etiquette like they wait for you know? Yeah, they don't even get a yardage while their other person's hitting or they're like even with each other in the fairway. They could park in between them and each walk your own direction.
Speaker 1:They don't do that it's it's.
Speaker 2:You wait till everyone hits and then you drive to your ball on 13.
Speaker 5:Like you know, like we had, I had my ball, like I was like drop me, here I'm gonna grab three clubs. Take the cart, I'll grab my range finder and you go look for yours and people just like totally don't even think about doing that yeah, the on 13 they're.
Speaker 1:They're in the fairway. We see we see two guys and there's two carts, but there's only two guys. We're like what the hell? And then we see that we catch this like glimmer of a golf shaft, like 60 yards left of the fairway, and we're like, is that that? Yep, that was them, that was them. And so they come over, drop the ball, get their yardage topped it. It went maybe 15, 20 yards, maybe. Walk over, put their club in the bag, hop in the car, drive up to that ball, get out, get a club. And it was like, oh my, all day long, all day long it was. It was bad. So, uh, you know, I, I did it in chippity chat. What do you guys think? What would, what would you do if you pulled up at a golf course and they said hey, just to let you know, we have a rule you get behind pace, you're going to get a warning. If, after the warning, you don't pick it up, we're going to suspend your golf cart until the group behind you passes.
Speaker 4:I mean, I think the only thing you can do is if is if you make them sign a waiver stating that when they check in, because other than that, how are you going to police? You don't, you don't have any kind of legal recourse to police, anything like that, right how do you not have legal recourse?
Speaker 1:it's your golf course, you are. I'm just being argumentative here, you paid to come play our place.
Speaker 5:Right, which is true, Like on the thing where it's like if I fall behind, I agree that you know I'm going to let others pass, kind of thing.
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah, because honestly, like, I just feel like golf courses.
Speaker 5:People won't read it anyway, they won't read it. Yeah, they just they won't, they won't give a shit.
Speaker 4:A lot of people will be like, fuck that, I paid you know a hundred, some odd dollars to do this. I'm gonna take my time. You know, a lot of a lot of guys have that mentality. They don't give a fuck about playing fast, they want to hit all 112 of their shots and watch them. Um, I think it's just uh, you know, people just gotta get better trained. I guess, for lack of a for for a better term. But yeah, if you're a slow golfer, I mean, like you know, you either got to work on getting better or just fucking pick up, or you got to sign a waiver stating I want, you know, we're looking at trying to play every hole at you know 12 minutes or 15 minutes, a hole which puts us at you know four and a half hour round.
Speaker 4:And if you violate that repeatedly after warnings and you're fucking gone. But you can't really do that. I don't think you can really all right.
Speaker 5:So, mark, let me just need to play by that. Yeah, yeah let me clarify that.
Speaker 1:But people need to play by the double or triple bogey rule like yeah, absolutely, yeah, so originally I I'm like, uh, I thought, uh, until Pace picks up and you're not playing, you're parked until two, three groups get through and you got to pick it up, otherwise we're parking you again. Yeah, it's going to help the people right behind them, but hopefully they realize it and they get going and it would help Because, yeah, everybody behind them is already being affected anyways. You know, everybody behind us was affected by these people in front of us.
Speaker 4:Robbie's, mark Robbie's. Yep, yeah, marshall, absolutely right, robbie. And the sad thing is, I have nothing against old people, but like all they do is hire like 80 year old-old fucking people to go drive a golf cart around a golf course. You know they're not going to be. You know they're not confrontational at all. They don't give two shit, they're just trying not to die, they're just fucking driving around.
Speaker 1:Or they double down on that. Yeah, the people that are really slow they don't care what had gave two shits with this. And, like I said, above and beyond.
Speaker 5:This marshal was above and beyond awesome. He was awesome. But he's like what can I do? I mean, you know, and I'm gonna fight them.
Speaker 1:I'm 80 years old, you know kind of situation I'd get one of them, little ball picker uppers on the end of the grips, you know, and just go out and pick up all their balls. They're on the next team.
Speaker 4:You had like, what if you had like an armed marshal out there, got like a nine pick, it's a lock on this thing. Say, hey guys, it's your final warning.
Speaker 5:You don't pick it up I'm gonna shoot you in the leg what's up I mean the thing I I understand everybody's trying to, like you know, grind for scores and they're playing against their friends and all that shit, but like just, I mean really, the end of the day it's like double, triple, boogie max. Like okay, if, if, if you're not getting in the green, in like whatever, like one or two over, drop your ball in the green. Okay, you're not, you're not shooting your career best you know, but you're. You have to be considerate guys are.
Speaker 1:Most of these guys are taking a double anyways yeah, and you have to be considerate as a six the people behind you.
Speaker 5:Dude, like you know, you have somewhere to go. I also have somewhere to go. You know, I booked this tea time with the thought in my mind that I'd be out here for like five hours tops, you know. And yeah, I have things to do. I have to go get christmas presents, I have to go pick up the kids, or whatever the case may be, like you're not sure, I drove an hour to be out here I got an hour drive home.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna have road rage because of you fucks.
Speaker 5:And that's not counting if I get a flat tire on the way and I have to give. Have some fucking dude pick me up and take me to a yontera place, like bob had to happen one time, you know. So it's like there's other factors like just think about the people behind you, be considerate, like that's, that's the whole.
Speaker 5:This is golf, you know. Be considerate to the people behind you, okay, and that goes for raking bunkers, filling your divots. Oh, you just got it, you know. You know, I don't want to end up in your footprint print in a fucking bunker. Rake the bunker, it doesn't take that long yep had another video tray raking bunkers exactly, and there was so many bunkers out there that had just oh my god place and coyote is notorious for that. Especially on number 10 number 10, some of those bunkers.
Speaker 1:Right, it's fucking. You build sandcastles and some of those things there's never, never right.
Speaker 5:It's never right. That greenside bunker to the right on number 10, never fucking right. You know why.
Speaker 1:Because most of the time people go in there they can't get out of it. They're like fuck this bunker.
Speaker 4:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1:Kick the rake in the desert.
Speaker 2:Okay, take a second.
Speaker 5:So pause and think about the people behind you that are gonna end up there.
Speaker 4:Nobody does, nobody does, nobody has any consideration.
Speaker 2:I don't give a fuck yeah, just think about if you have behind you, it's all what if you go to the fishing like a fishing license, but for golf and all you have to certain courses like based on difficulty.
Speaker 1:It's a classification that would be amazing, then, then, we're getting the. It's already an elitist sport and they're just I know, yeah, weeding people out for sure
Speaker 3:this is an a-level course, we only allow a-level players no, not even that level days.
Speaker 5:Uh, your money is whatever I think it's interesting though, like that whole concept, like the, the whole golfer license, you know, like yeah that's, you have to have a license to hunt. You have to have to, and that's just going out there and shooting things.
Speaker 1:Germany, germany, gotta have a golf license.
Speaker 2:I know I mean. It's not even about, like, keeping people out of courses.
Speaker 1:It's about educating them and making sure that they know like yeah, that's the thing, here's how you can play fast, or here's how you can, you know? And it's, it's as bad as somebody seeing somebody with iron covers. Everybody loses their mind and goes oh, what a loser if you get called a slow player. That fucking hurts and some people don't know how to react to it. So uh and, and a lot of people that get told hey, you're slow, no, I'm not, no, I'm not, fuck you, it's such an evil.
Speaker 5:That's the thing. We that's the thing we played with glenn and we were fucking on pace and everybody that's played with glenn knows that he's slow the way you play with glenn is you keep playing while he's talking, exactly?
Speaker 1:That's the only way to play at the.
Speaker 2:Glen, because he's not going to stop talking.
Speaker 1:And you can't allow Glen to be the last putter. He cannot be the person finishing the hole.
Speaker 2:Or you just everybody starts walking off the green. Yeah that's Bless his heart yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, people don't even listen to T recommendations. Yeah, no, yeah, I know. No, the starter, the guy that was starting us, was the marshal that was on the course afterwards and he's like you know, you guys are playing from the tips, right. And he's like, yep, all right, I'm going to need to see this. Then Trey hits. He's like, all right, you guys are good. Yeah, exactly, you're funny. Yeah, exactly you're funny. So alright so that's. That's another DDP, slow play rant yeah.
Speaker 5:I don't know what we're gonna do I don't know.
Speaker 1:Oh yes, I did watch the game that was good.
Speaker 2:That was really good, mark. I enjoyed that. It was really good.
Speaker 1:I hope they keep doing if you were paying attention, you saw that Jake Knapp knapp had a lagp shaft in his putter yes, he did just saying I think some of those duos, too, are like pretty entertaining.
Speaker 1:I think we need to see more of that, honestly I would love to see one in the middle of the season, you know, and actually instead of this late in the year where everybody's checked out because I'm, I, you know the golf nuts. We all watch it, of course, but yeah, that was fun, that was fun to watch. I like how they had the alternate where they could change the balls. That was that was smart smart stuff.
Speaker 1:All right, that that'll do it for episode 305. I don't know if we're going to be back this year. We'll see. We'll see what's going on. Next week is Christmas Eve. We got New Year's Eve the following week, so we may mix it up and do it another night just to keep the streak going. But you know streaks they got to end sometimes. So we'll see. We'll chat with the fellas here, see if we can figure it all out. But uh, in case we don't come back until next year, I just want to say thank you to you guys for doing this.
Speaker 1:It's been an awesome year for us. A lot of changes, a lot of things going on, but I think we're hitting our hitting our groove right now. Um, we're getting out, we're having some fun, people are like. Tuning in the, the interactions with everybody has been fantastic. Uh, want more of that every week. So thank you so much to all the listeners and everybody that tunes in and participates each week. It's really easy to just wait until wednesday when it comes out and listen as you're driving around. Takes a little bit of passion and desire to sit here and watch our ugly mugs and and be a keyboard warrior. So thank you all for that. Uh, we'll be back with uh more shit next year. Stay tuned for information on the bgc cdp League. That will be absolutely spectacular. So I can't wait for you all to get into that. And if we do come back, I'll announce it before the end of the year if we're going to have another show. So, with all that being said, joe, you want to close it out?
Speaker 5:Yeah, if we don't see you this year, I hope you have a great Christmas and a great New Year. Hopefully you don't get that fucking toilet putter thing for Christmas.
Speaker 1:Potty putter.
Speaker 2:Joe's got six in his garage.
Speaker 5:I have quite a few. If you do, just appreciate it with a smile, be considerate of those that gift you something and be considerate of those behind you. It is the end of the year and we appreciate everybody listening, everybody that interacts with us every single week, share the show, and we appreciate you listening Every single. This guy's doing the taylor swift thing, where they fucking do this shit.
Speaker 5:I don't know don't, don't yeah, don't be a geek guy, you know, that's all I'm gonna say. And uh, we'll see you. Maybe we'll do something before next year but if we don't, we'll see you next year. Until then later. Outro Music.
