Speaker 1:

What is up everybody? Welcome to an episode, Episode number 306 of the Chasing Daylight Podcast. Dan and I are here right now. Joe will be joining us shortly. We have no idea if Jeremy's going to make it or not. He's handling some business.

Speaker 3:

He is.

Speaker 1:

He may be here, he may not be here, let's see. There we go Makes it a little bit easier for the viewing public. So, everybody, hey, thanks so much for joining us. We took last week off Christmas Eve. For my family that's a big night. So we decided to take the week off. Let everybody have fun with their families and give you all a break from us.

Speaker 1:

And then Tuesday night we had you know it was New Year's Eve, us, uh. And then tuesday night we had you know it was new year's eve, we. We knew no one was gonna hang out and watch us blabber about golf on new year's eve, especially in this town, uh, so, uh, we took tuesday night off, but we're all anxious to get on here and chat some more golf, uh. And you can tell by two of the four of us being here. No, joe will be here in a few. He's handling a few things. So, happy new year to everybody. I hope everybody had a safe and happy new year. I know there's been a lot of crazy shit going on right now in the States. What happened in New Orleans was just ridiculously sad, and then we had a cyber truck blow up at Trump Towers here. More stuff coming out about that. Just crazy, crazy stories.

Speaker 3:

No crazy times that yeah, um.

Speaker 1:

But I mean it's funny like the cyber trucks are getting like rave reviews now because everyone's coming out saying because of the thicker material and because of the sturdiness of the truck, it didn't do the damage that they thought it was going to do.

Speaker 3:

So um yeah, it's good it's kind of sad that that had to get proven in that way, but there's other ways to prove that.

Speaker 2:

But, uh, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I saw a thing today that that Elon Musk just shared, and it was on Vegas issues. It said that the cyber truck was voted the worst terrorist bombing vehicle of 2025. So people are having fun with it, but I mean not to make light of a sad situation. Crazy stuff going on and it's wild that both those vehicles were rented through that Toro site.

Speaker 1:

It was like a VBR or vrbo or airbnb for vehicles yeah, um so who knows, maybe there's going to be some regulations coming down on that. Anyways, wild, wild times going on, but the good thing is, golf is back. The pga tour is back. Capaloo has started. This afternoon. Harry's off to a good start. I was just chatting with him a few minutes ago because I was asking him if he still had callaway full bag, and he's playing ping woods right now.

Speaker 1:

So he's got ping woods and then callaway, everything else and he's got a new golf ball he's playing, so uh had a 500 around, he shot six, six under on the front, had a bogey on the back and then part out. So good start to the day for the tourney for him. Uh, there's all kinds of news about, you know, max homa is now cobra max and uh, in lulu lemon. That that's like been the big news, because there really hasn't been any like crazy news out there as far as equipment changes or anything like that. I sent stephen jackson a haha funny message because uh, adam scott was playing his old lab putter, not the new oz, so that that was a short-lived experiment. I thought for sure he was going to keep gaming that thing, especially since it's, you know, kind of named after him yeah so that that was a surprise.

Speaker 1:

Um, and then let's see what else we got. Uh, you were out of shell shore with jeremy. We'll talk about that. We all got together. I got my first round back after my time off for the knee surgery. We were out at las vegas nationals we'll talk about that. You're playing some new sticks we can talk about that. Got revere coming up this weekend. Let's see what else did I have? Oh, akshay Bhatia.

Speaker 2:

He is now with Travis Matthews, so that's exciting for them.

Speaker 1:

Nice, young, fresh face on tour for them, and there really wasn't much other oh there he is hey Joe.

Speaker 2:

Joe, it's different.

Speaker 1:

Hold hold on, give me a second. This is why you come on early it worked out, are you okay? I?

Speaker 2:

think so. I just I just heard you from my laptop speakers. Ah, okay, the interface looks a little different.

Speaker 1:

Femyard is going through some changes. We pay a monthly subscription to use this service and they added a bunch of new features over the last four or five months and they're really nice. And then they just came out and said hey, by the way, here's your bill now if you want to keep using all these new features, and I was like no, we don't.

Speaker 1:

So a couple of the couple of the extras that we have for this will be going away, but I don't think it's going to affect anything. Uh, we just we're going to lose a platform that we're allowed to push to, I think, 10 different platforms right now. It's going to get reduced, so we'll only be pushing this to three. And then I just found out we could change the fonts on our name and stuff, so that, uh, but that will be going away as well. So that's the the times. It keeps changing the hey, we'll tease you with some great features. And oh, by the way, now you have to pay double what you were.

Speaker 2:

So it moves quick.

Speaker 1:

New years, new fees so how you doing, joe, do you have a good new year?

Speaker 2:

yeah, we just hung out at home. We didn't really do much, you know. So here we are in 2025.

Speaker 1:

The fireworks were ridiculous. It wasn't too crazy by my house oh my god we yeah, well, looking at out your way from my backyard, dan it, it looked like fourth july times 10. I couldn't believe how much activity was going on.

Speaker 2:

I'll never understand that shit I'll never understand. Lighting your money on fire, I just I'll never get that. I'll never understand what it is, Maybe like 80 bucks. You know, throw a couple out there, that's fine you know, like tea time.

Speaker 1:

you know, you go out to Paiute or you go out to Pahrump, 80 bucks will get you a lot of fireworks.

Speaker 3:

Well, I mean, that was a long time ago. I don't know anymore, but yeah, get you a fucking pack of firecrackers now.

Speaker 1:

Exactly. Oh, barbers in the house, sup, ninjas, so you can chat and choose. The two man wrecking crew oh, joe's here now, so we're a three man wrecking crew and Juju's in the house? Hey, and juju's in the house? Hey, juju, that that was an awesome little event you have, uh, in honor of your dad, so congrats on that. That was. That was awesome. Yep, um, need to do that up here one year. Bring the family up here and we'll do it birthday way.

Speaker 1:

Birthday way that's just a rep in the green background there for you. Christmas is over, boys, change up the colors, come on. Christmas is over, boys, change up the colors, come on. You should do a.

Speaker 2:

Hittin' Verde's way.

Speaker 1:

Hittin' Verde's way At Hittin' Verde's. So, joe, you're joining us this weekend at Revere, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's getting my chin-chin, you know.

Speaker 1:

We'll do this, so it matches my shirt there we go I'll be here before you know it 100

Speaker 2:

already seen the commercials. Welcome friends 99 days hello friends, hello friends.

Speaker 1:

Um, so, uh you, let's talk about National. We can start with National. It's been a couple weeks since we've been on. I was happy to be back out on the golf course after spending three weeks basically at home just chipping and putting and slowly built up some swings with some irons, and so I was excited to get out of the golf course. It was a little crisp early morning, national was looking great and then Dylan happened.

Speaker 3:

Then we met Dylan.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if I have ever ever had an experience like that with a starter in the history of my golfing life.

Speaker 2:

No, I've met some dick starters, but you know.

Speaker 1:

Oh, they're everywhere.

Speaker 3:

Yeah that was. That was surprising and extremely uncalled for.

Speaker 1:

And it fired me up right away dude, I was like we're we're fighting on the first fucking hole of my me coming back. I really thought we were gonna go to blows with this kid he was really jealous of your new knees, bro.

Speaker 2:

Like he saw that you got new knees and he was like I'm not having it, my knees knees hurt right now.

Speaker 1:

Well, clearly, he didn't, because he was like was this your first time on a golf course? Which, as soon as he said that I was like I looked at dad. I'm like, oh fuck.

Speaker 2:

That was yeah, that was a yeah. I couldn't believe he said that.

Speaker 3:

I mean if you're a golfer.

Speaker 2:

If you're a real golfer and you love the game of golf and respect the game of golf, you could look at our four bags and be like, okay, these guys know what they're doing. Like you can look at the collective of that, you know there's no ball pickers there's no stock head covers.

Speaker 1:

There's not, you know uh, yeah, uh, do you know what I'm seeing a lot of and it's hilarious is, uh, the some players who have a sunday bag on the side of their cart bag that has all their wedges in it because their bag is full of woods. Oh, I've seen it twice now.

Speaker 1:

It's, it's hilarious, interesting a little much hey I don't have iron covers and bgc is in the in the instagram chat. Uh yeah, we are short tonight. Jeremy is enhancing his life. He may be here in a little while uh, but I don't have iron covers.

Speaker 2:

I don't really call that enhancing. He's achieving his life.

Speaker 1:

I would say it's enhancing his life every single time he leaves his house. Now he's gonna be like so that's making his life better he's achieving his dreams.

Speaker 3:

He's fulfilling it's exactly he's fulfilling a. Fulfilling a dream is a perfect way to put it.

Speaker 1:

So happy for jeremy on that and that aspect yeah, uh well, I don't have iron covers, but if I did, I wouldn't care. Who cares? Who cares about iron covers? Give, give those people a break. Good lord, who gives a rat's ass? If you want to cover your irons, people may look at you funny, but you know what. Who gives? A shit cover your irons if you want.

Speaker 2:

To get the little ones with zippers and tassels if you want my thought is if you want to cover your irons, just beat the other fuckers that are playing again with you I mean they can't say shit if if you whip them, you know.

Speaker 1:

If you want to do it, just be good so, joe, as joe was saying, you could tell by looking at us that we were not your your Saturday weekend hack golfers coming in from another state on a drunk bender, getting an early morning tea time, still inebriated. No we. We came to play and just he. He was in a bad mood, I guess, I don't know, Maybe his coffee got spilled or what I don't know. I've never seen anything like that before in my life to fill everybody in.

Speaker 2:

Basically, what happened was is nobody checked in with the starter, who was dylan, and uh, dylan was curious who was up next on the t.

Speaker 1:

None of none of us checked in which by the way, we we were 15 feet away on the play zone and we play there many times and it's always the old dude with the.

Speaker 2:

You know he asks everybody that steps on the range can I get your ticket? You know he's right there. And then you know, if you are curious, if anyone's here, he't have a radio whatever. And you see four guys that haven't checked in. Maybe you should just ask them hey, what time are you guys playing? Can I get your ticket? You know it's not our fault and you know we're used to the old guy that's been there for the past five years there was four people on the range.

Speaker 1:

You know, there was us on the practice green and four people on the range.

Speaker 2:

So uh, yeah, it just must be an introvert. You know he doesn't want to talk to people. And then it just, it just collapsed in front of his eyes, you know it was.

Speaker 1:

It was. I mean, it was shocking because, because you know, I, I, he kind of got snippy, you know. And then so I got a little snippy back and I said, well, you know, maybe get off your ass and go find out who's coming up next, and that fired him back and it just kind of escalated from there.

Speaker 2:

I was going to send the guys behind you in front of you. Yeah Well, you see four guys. This is the thing in my head. You see four guys that haven't checked in yet. This is the thing in my head. You see four guys that haven't checked in yet. If you're curious, who's coming up next? Once you go, ask those guys what their tea time is, or I mean, I mean a starter's job is. There's no story. It's very difficult, you know. It's a very tough job, which I understand. You know it's. It's hard to put people in keep, keep the pace all day. It's a difficult job and he was very stressed, which I understand. I feel for him. It's a difficult job. Somebody has to do it. Thankfully, it's Dylan and, uh, he just didn't want to talk to us, you know, cause he knew how good we are at golf and how cool we are, and that's his fault.

Speaker 1:

Yep, that's totally his fault. It was, it was terrible, anyways, but we uh we shout out, dylan, yeah shout out dylan. Uh, I was like, by the third hole, the third hole. I was like, okay, heart rate's back to normal, let's get into this round. So it was, it was, uh, it was a really weird start, really weird but, on on.

Speaker 1:

On the other hand, national was in great shape. The greens were fast, really fast, which which made it a very fun, challenging golf course, because a lot of times they're the greens roll good, but they're slow more often than not. Not like crazy slow, but slow, slow enough to where you go. Fuck, these are slow, but they were not. They were not this past last weekend. So hang on, I got to read what you just said. Typically retired old dudes live the best life you can enjoy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah exactly Exactly. It's a beautiful morning, beautiful day, beautiful golf course, just kind of, you know, enjoy it. But once we got rolling, everybody's having a good time and I shot an 82. I was really happy with my game. Putted lights out. I was really happy with my game uh, putted lights out. I was really happy about that. I could tell that I've been working on the putting. Uh stroke is doing good. The new Odyssey putter is doing great.

Speaker 1:

Um, irons, I. I hit my irons incredibly straight. I just didn't have the right distance on them all day long. That bothered me and the driver was. I have the right distance on them all day long. That bothered me and the driver was. I knew the driver was going to be a little bit of an issue because I hadn't swung a driver in three weeks and really didn't know what was going to happen. So, but other than that, had a great time. I think we had a blast. We still made it around in 340 um, even with some slow people in front of us and the dylan debacle, uh. So I I hope those greens stay like that for a little while.

Speaker 3:

So, dan, that was the best. That was the best I've ever, I think I've ever seen national, like seriously, like I love national because the layout's great and I just it's just I don't know. I just love that course. The surrounding areas, you know, obviously it's not that great. The house is kind of old and dated and some of them are a little, you know, abandoned, but it's scary. That's neither here nor there, but uh, the golf course itself has always been fun. I've always enjoyed it and this is this is by far the best I've ever seen it played and it was, uh, it was fun. The greens were fast, they were actually rolling smooth. Um, you know, usually they're slow, bumpy, a little scabby. They are in great shape. Um, they're all cut in one length, which is nice, but uh, yeah, I was pleasantly surprised.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, it was got to get back out there soon, we would have lost Natty Bingo. Didn't see any part or any natives in the ditch. Yeah, that was. That was a little surprising. The actual the creek was pretty clean.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, no appliances.

Speaker 1:

There was no funk. We did get some police sirens had some dogs A couple- dogs.

Speaker 2:

yeah, no fraternity sightings.

Speaker 1:

No, fraternity sightings no.

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

Nobody sleeping on the side of the green.

Speaker 2:

We did get someone that flew the green on number two into number 16 or 17, though that did happen. I haven't seen that one before. Remember that? Which? On what hole? When we were approaching a hole? 17, you don't. You don't remember that oh yeah, that's right. That's right, that's the first time I've actually seen that I'm having trouble remembering what he's talking about. So number you. You know what hole I'm talking about 16, right, yeah where I hit that fucking nasty ass up and downer out the bunker, you know shut up our slides and then if someone hit a tree or something, and that's number two.

Speaker 1:

That's right, that was from right, that was from three t-box that's right, I think it's more, I think it's more. Number two, I think it's, I think no, no, no, because right across the street is the green.

Speaker 2:

That is three great I'll say that it's two or three it's three. It's two or three because because the creek is right after the creek crosses. You hit over the creek onto three and the creek is in front of yeah, do you know the gps in which way the creek goes? Maybe it goes back up to the valley? No, it's right on the other side. It's in that area yeah, it was somebody somebody hit a t-shot on three that landed near the 17 t-box.

Speaker 1:

It hit the trees that's right.

Speaker 2:

I've not seen that before I mean that's the free space, because you don't see it very often. Yeah, yeah, that was.

Speaker 1:

We all were like where the hell did that come from?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1:

Oh, this is funny. Rob had this. There's no ball sacks on golf bags.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that was yes, he's calling out Sean Wood out there. Yeah, that's how you know you're.

Speaker 3:

No, not sacks on a golf bag.

Speaker 2:

Don't get in confrontations with these guys because they don't have ball sack on their golf bags.

Speaker 1:

They're golfers uh, miles in the chat. Yeah, we were talking about tesla's at trump. Crazy shit going on, man, crazy shit going on. Hey, barbara. Uh, what events are on sundays? I may be able to play those. I will send you a message. Actually, if you go to the vg and website, the schedule is on there and you can see all the sundays. We're split saturdays and sundays, so it's, I think, seven saturday events and six sunday events hey, shout out the homie fat eric.

Speaker 2:

I haven't seen you in a long time. Love you dude. He's uh tuning in on ig.

Speaker 1:

That's the home welcome, welcome welcome fat eric ph with a ph okay, that's eric uh, he's around the corner from my mom. He's the homie right, so that that'll wrap up some some national chat. Okay, so let me know what did you guys think about how I played with the new knees?

Speaker 2:

curious just fucking juicy bro, oil synthetic, uh lard like what, what, what, what, what? Yeah, I'm just thinking of like thinking about like things that require a pan to be non-stick, like some Crisco Some avocado spray oil.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, avocado Olive oil. Crisco Butter Baby oil.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Diddy oil. Matt stopped at Costco on his way and just picked up Diddy oil.

Speaker 2:

Matt stopped at Costco on his way and just picked up all the baby oil, slapped it on. He's got like a little thing that injects it in the knees. He's smoothie. He's a Jamba. He's Jamba juicing. He is Zuka juicing. He is Planet Smoothie.

Speaker 1:

You know it was nice to be able to play some golf he's tropical, bro.

Speaker 2:

He's tropical, he's just smoothying it up, yep rob just sent me a picture of the.

Speaker 1:

Uh, there, it is right there oh, so but no, you can still overshoot.

Speaker 2:

You can still overshoot number two there.

Speaker 1:

But if you're that close, that's a 200-yard shot. You're not hitting a 200-yard shot from 15 yards in front of the green.

Speaker 2:

Okay. So someone hooked it so hard on a par three from 170 that it came over there.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I think someone caught a good one. They're like I'm never going to catch this good. I'm never with those guys on the green and then it hit the street on number two.

Speaker 3:

It had to cover the street.

Speaker 1:

It had to cover the street it's impressive. It's impressive.

Speaker 2:

What do you think is more likely, Dan? I'm curious. Someone duck hooked it 70 yards.

Speaker 1:

The back tees were playing 225 that day, so the up tees were playing 200. So somebody hit driver.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, one of the old guys I don't know, man, I mean it can it could it could have easily happen both ways. Yeah, there's so many bad golfers out there, but on this one, if I had to choose and remembering I'm gonna I think I'm gonna lean towards matt's scenario fucking asshole.

Speaker 2:

You get the, you get the worst. You get the closet in South Carolina next week. Well, I'm just in my dreams, dog Get the twin bed. It's going to be cold. You get the futon on the porch.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's so funny.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's going to suck. You're just going to have to eat an oyster.

Speaker 3:

You have to eat an oyster? Fuck no, I'm eating a loogie. It kind of is. I have to eat an oyster Fuck no, I'm eating a loogie.

Speaker 1:

It kind of is, I know it's disgusting, a salty one, all right, so let's move on. Dan Jeremy's not here to talk about it, but you got to experience the Club at South Shore, or South Shore.

Speaker 3:

Coffee.

Speaker 1:

Club, or whatever it's called now. This was one that you hadn't played yet. You only got a couple more conestoga and laughlin ranch. That's it. So uh, oh and oh, you haven't played win.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I haven't played win yet either oh, I didn't know that one.

Speaker 1:

All right, so a few to knock out, but it was awesome.

Speaker 3:

Um, the greens were fantastic. They were in really good shape. They were a little bit firm, um, but you could hit like you can hit wedges and still spin them, but like they some of them you got that first firm uh, first kick Uh. So they were a little tough, a little tough to judge there, but they were great to put on. Um played with uh Jeremy, like I said, uh Steve and uh one and one of Steve's friends, tom Steve, hooked that up. So it was fun to get out there and I love it.

Speaker 3:

I think the course is great. I think it's got it reminds me a little bit of Cascada, kind of how it's cut into the mountains a little bit, and it's definitely got some Reflection Bay vibes too. You can tell the Nicholas touch on those courses, but it was awesome. I definitely like it better than Reflection and it's probably I'm going to go top three, maybe top four, I think private courses I've played here in town. I'll put it in the top three. Top four, I think. Private courses I played here in town. I'll put it in the top three.

Speaker 1:

Pop top four, for sure so it came it came in at number eight on our rankings this last year and that was without dan's vote, so that your vote may bump it up to, you know, six or seven so yeah, it was nice.

Speaker 3:

I mean, um, you know, I'd love to see it when it's in its prime shape. You know, right now it's a little dormant, um, a lot, but um, yeah, a lot dormant, but um it was, it's your.

Speaker 1:

What was your favorite?

Speaker 3:

part three the good question. You know what I really like? That long one. What was that? 17, 16 yes, over the back oh yeah, I mean it's got the waterfall on the left. That was just really.

Speaker 3:

That's just a hundred foot palm trees yeah, no, that was just a really cool hole. Uh, just visually off the tee it was beautiful, um, the shape of the green from the tee was awesome. It, like you could totally tell it, fit the contour of the hill, um, and it also, you know, happened to hit a nice good shot in there.

Speaker 1:

It's about 10 feet, so uh favorite hole, favorite holes probably something is that 10 trying to think par 5 on the first, par five on the back, 11 or the one that goes into the water, yeah, yeah yeah, high up and they go down.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, such a good love that hole.

Speaker 3:

That's a great hole. Yeah, that's a beautiful hole, it's a great t shot. And then the second, the approach shot and, as you can see, like the uh green go into the water. It was, yeah, it was pretty awesome. Yeah, that was a great hole, it's a great course great course.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it really is. Use it's uh, it's great. I love how you can see all lake las vegas, especially when you get up on 17 and 18. Any, any, uh bighorn, because the bighorn are always no 17 or 18? No, oh, that's surprising no, no, bighorn.

Speaker 3:

I was kind of bummed too, because you know I'm usually oh, barbara's chiming in.

Speaker 1:

How about my first two holes? What happened?

Speaker 3:

oh yeah, barbara hits um. He kind of hit a little spinner drive off off the first tee and then laces this three wood with like a 10 yard draw to like six feet on one damn and drains the putt downhill, downhill, little drippy, drains that right in, starts off eagle uh, next hole. I kind of forget the ongoings of his shots but I'm pretty sure he ended up walking off that green with a triple. So he had some highs and lows but ultimately he played, actually played pretty well. He made like. He made like three or four more birdies, I think, um that round. So yeah, steve, steve played, everybody played great. Jeremy was like two under, I think, on the back nine, going into 17 or 18, I don't. I don't remember how he finished but um, yeah, everybody played, played pretty well I can look and see if he posted.

Speaker 1:

Jeremy post good scores, so he's a little bit like joe doesn't post all the scores just the good ones, just the one.

Speaker 2:

I don't even know what I shoot half the time.

Speaker 1:

So that is true, let's see. Let's see if mr martin posted his score. No, he did not, did not, so so golfing so?

Speaker 2:

golfing. Let's go, all you plus.

Speaker 1:

Golfers, it don't matter none of you do plus triple from 52 yards in the middle of the fairway. Been there, done that. Is that what? It was from 52 oh, that's right, that's right hole is because those bunkers, the bunkers.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's right, I forgot that's right.

Speaker 1:

He went from bunker to bunker a couple times it's narrow that green is narrow and and yeah it's it's tough to keep it on yeah, I would like to get back out there.

Speaker 2:

It's been, it's been a few years.

Speaker 3:

Jeremy had some struggles on that hole too. Everybody did actually now that I think about it, except for me. I got lucky and I was uh I have from the far left side of the fairway and I was the only one hit the the green. I had like a 20 foot putt but yeah, I think a couple of guys were hitting those shots out of those fairways back and forth, out of those bunkers.

Speaker 2:

It's a good course, man. It really is. It was fun.

Speaker 1:

Salty golfer chiming in on IG. He's are you still doing that cleanse? Was that you that was doing the, the cleanse that you posted about?

Speaker 2:

I think that was you that, uh, I couldn't do that, man, like that's brutal stuff, doing those cleanses I would love, I would love to, I want to, but I did do the eat app only apples for three days long. Me and katie did it years and years ago. But uh, yeah, that, uh, it worked well, yeah, because you're only eating apples. Jesus christ so you get really, you get really good apples, man, it's not that hard so, but what is it?

Speaker 3:

what is it? What does it do, joe? What is it? Flush? Uh, making more regular because you're getting the fiber, or it's been so long there.

Speaker 2:

There is a something green, did you do?

Speaker 1:

fuji, was it honey crisp? I mean, come on, let's get into the honey crisp, right you?

Speaker 2:

should you? Probably? Honey crisp is probably not the way to go because there's they're sweet, there's a lot of sugar in them. But uh, I, I'm a honey crisp fan. Charge me, good, I'm guilty, you're good. Honey crisp, best apple you can have hands down, hell yeah they're they. They taste like honey and they're crispy, hence the name.

Speaker 1:

But I think rob's rob has summed this up beautifully that sounds great, except for only eating apples.

Speaker 2:

Part yeah, so I did it for three days. I lost like 12 pounds in three days doing that. I can't remember the lord the active ingredient in them. But um yeah, I've been wanting to do it. I'm not doing it. I like tacos as miles of sand yeah, eat a taco yeah, bean and cheese, burrito, tacos, hey, anything, anything mexican, yeah yeah, all right an enchilada ceviche whatever it is. Let him go on his Yelp. Jermaine Pablano Chilaquiles way.

Speaker 1:

All right, Dan, you got a couple rounds in with the new sticks.

Speaker 3:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

The new sticks are. I love them, I'm loving them, I'm loving them.

Speaker 3:

They feel really good, uh-oh.

Speaker 1:

He's back.

Speaker 3:

Uh-oh, uh-oh, paul Peters.

Speaker 2:

Penis. Oh dude, Are we on Facebook again?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, holy cow, I thought we got rid of that.

Speaker 2:

No, we had some pretty good action going on Paul, do Joe, do Joee paul and then matt, and then matt, and then go back to matt and then do, joe, leave me out here, leave me miles, miles said unbeknownst. There were 3500 plus varieties of american apples at one point good lord yeah, we, and we get all the fake ones in the store so does that mean, uh, 3,495 of them just sucked oh, don't open up the can of worms all right.

Speaker 1:

So you got a little combo set of the, the cbs and mbs in the new apex, callaway apex.

Speaker 3:

You're happy with them, love very happy with them, very happy and uh the jaws, the jaws wedges.

Speaker 3:

You were hitting those fantastic I mean, yeah, darts out there. Yeah, I kind of lost the darts at South Shore I had a couple of times or got victimized by zipping it off too far. I forget what hole it was, but I had one. I think it was like 118, 119 in. I hit my 52. Ball, lands my divot. My ball mark on the green is like five feet six feet from the pin, but my ball is about 15 yards short of the green.

Speaker 2:

Good lord yeah I don't know zippy it.

Speaker 3:

It's probably came back 60 feet from where it originally hit. So, uh, yeah, so, yeah, yeah, that's right. Barbara was there a couple times. Yeah, I mean, I was real close to the hole and right back, right back towards the front of the green and uh, you know, it's what that's been happening a lot lately, yeah fresh grooves and pro v1xs man. So you know they're gonna do that. I might. I'm honestly I'm thinking about switching back to a regular Pro-V just to reduce the wedge spin.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was going to say or go left, dash or AVX or something, just to.

Speaker 3:

I like the performance of the left dash. It's just a little too firm for chipping and putting. For me it's like chipping a rock a little bit, yeah. So I'm hoping they improve the cover on that but can still keep the performance for the future models, cause I would definitely consider making a switch.

Speaker 2:

Have you, have you tried to play the Wilson yet, Dan?

Speaker 3:

I've hit it just a few times, a handful of times from Matt's, you know, bag and stuff like that, but I haven't, I have yet to give it a try.

Speaker 2:

I mean, you know we, matt loves to just throw, throw it out there as.

Speaker 3:

I know, but here's the thing the earth. Here's the thing, though Jeremy switched. So when Jeremy switched, that told me I'm like okay, this ball is probably legit. You know, I just haven't, I haven't really tried it yet.

Speaker 1:

Jeremy was like my Mount Everest apex. You know I got Jeremy to switch to the Wilson. It's like fuck all the rest of you, you don't care, Jeremy is my billboard right here.

Speaker 2:

That's big, that's massive, that's huge. That's his platinum record on the wall. Uh-oh, very gordy Matt's, very gordy His girlfriend is probably a cucumber.

Speaker 1:

You know, Paul, you're kind of weak tonight.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Cucumber Katie.

Speaker 2:

You must not know me very well.

Speaker 1:

How can Dan hot spin with spin? I don't know you have to retype that. That may be a typo, yeah. So, Joe, do you have any of the?

Speaker 2:

Do I have a girlfriend that likes cucumbers?

Speaker 1:

The X model left. I know it's a yellow golf ball. I don't know if Dan can play a yellow golf ball.

Speaker 3:

I can't no.

Speaker 1:

You can't? Okay, don't bring him.

Speaker 3:

No, I can't look down at that.

Speaker 1:

Maybe I'll stop by Jeremy's house and grab a sleeve for you so you can try them Saturday.

Speaker 2:

No, I mean, you know, the thing is is they're less expensive. I tried the X model and didn't work for me, which I was really loving probing one X, like I was playing probing one X, so I was playing the staff model X and then I decided to give it another shot and just go to the the staff model, and I love them. I really do they're yeah, it was.

Speaker 1:

As soon as I found out the compression on it, I was like, yeah, that's that's why you're not liking it. It's a very firm golf ball, very, but it doesn't. It doesn't feel firm. The it. It's 104 compression. It's a very, very hard golf ball but it has a good cover on it, so it doesn't feel firm.

Speaker 2:

I'd just be curious for Dan to play around with them and see what he actually thinks.

Speaker 1:

Me too. I'll do it, I ain't scared.

Speaker 2:

The God's honest truth.

Speaker 1:

Pro staff distant ball circa 1999.

Speaker 2:

I think we all need to get some fucking fun, fucking some wound balls and just go play some persimmons and play that way. Let's just do it, Robert throw some rubber bands.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, bring back the ballada Exactly.

Speaker 2:

You hit a ballada ball, then you'll be really pulling it off the green.

Speaker 3:

Shit.

Speaker 1:

Oh, ball will be lasting two holes, all right. So Dan's new sticks are good. Check. We got Revere coming up this weekend. Dan Jeremy or Dan Joe, myself and Cliff Cliff. He's joining us, so that'll be a good time. It'll be Clippy. He's been playing a ton of golf lately. Uh, would you say top flight magma, or was it magna magna, I think magna magna sounds more familiar.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, I used to play the top flight stratus when that came out. Oh, my goodness yeah, the stratus was a decent ball uh, let's see.

Speaker 1:

So pga tour. Uh you guys watching capilou today, or were you working? It came on late uh, I went.

Speaker 2:

I went to work today and I was seeing the capilou footage and I'm like it feels early for capilou, like I feel like the year just started, I feel like I thought it was like next week and they were just like they're already.

Speaker 1:

It's always first weekend, yeah, always first weekend of January Just happened.

Speaker 2:

New Year's was not a Wednesday, it was like an early week.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, no, Miles is coming out here for Super Bowl weekend.

Speaker 2:

As he does every year. Yeah, oh every year. Miles, but you know he's, you know he's got his festivities. We're, you know he's got his festivities we're gonna do a taco tour talk to miles, so if anybody wants in, on the taco tour, we're gonna rent a party wagon and no, no, I don't, I don't think so, but, um, yeah, it's it. For me it's hard to get out on, uh, super bowl weekend, because you know we work in the event industries.

Speaker 2:

Uh so, but yeah, miles will be here. He's got a car. We're gonna try and do a taco tour and uh, yeah, we're gonna go eat tacos and hopefully play some golf where haven't you played miles that you want to play?

Speaker 1:

let's, let's make that happen, instead of dragging you out to perrump, like we did last time, or revere. Let's uh go to a place you uh want to play that you haven't.

Speaker 2:

I will my miles joe, take care of it for you, joe I think miles would probably be more capable of taking care of it than I would be, uh don't sell yourself.

Speaker 1:

You got a host, joe this is your town yeah, come on, don't let people know you're broke. I don't have MGM points.

Speaker 2:

I don't have shit.

Speaker 3:

He said fuck Shadow, I know Miles.

Speaker 2:

Miles would probably rather play Paiute than Shadow.

Speaker 1:

Who's played Paiute?

Speaker 2:

But he'd probably rather play Paiute than Shadow. I think he needs to get to Coyote Springs. I know that's an hour away. I don't think Miles is playing. I can't remember. We had a fantastic cafe breakfast spot, old school diner style. I would love to see Miles at Coyote Springs.

Speaker 1:

Bingo P piute overshadow yeah miles is a trist he is uh, but but miles if shadow creek was 250 bucks, if shadow creek was same price as piute, yeah, then, then but yes, he's for the most part, he's right.

Speaker 2:

Paiute over Shadow Creek. I still think you would probably choose Paiute.

Speaker 3:

Paiute is the best.

Speaker 2:

So that's the thing, though. Shadow is Shadow, creek is sick, right, but it's fabricated. Miles is a believer in true golf and Paiute is actual true golf.

Speaker 1:

And it he died. Goodness Well Coyote's kind of fabricated a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Coyote Springs. Well, he hasn't played Coyote Springs. I'm talking about Paiute.

Speaker 1:

I know I mean it is fabricated.

Speaker 2:

I know, I understand that, but fucking Shadow is the pinnacle of fabricated golf, I think Big Cedar Lodge would be the pinnacle of fabricated golf. Yeah, and who designed Buffalo Ridge? Tom Fazio. Who designed Shadow Creek? Tom Fazio.

Speaker 1:

He's a fabricator.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, and I think that's why Miles would choose Bayou over it. Because, yeah, maybe Pete Dye moved some dirt out the way, but he didn't fucking build fake waterfalls in the middle of the desert.

Speaker 3:

Who designed Wolf Creek?

Speaker 2:

I think the guy only did one. I'd have to look it up. That's fucking fabricated.

Speaker 3:

That's very fabricated.

Speaker 1:

Sunrise is true.

Speaker 2:

I'd have to look it up, but I think the guy only did one. I think he might have helped out on like nine, nine holes on Falcon Ridge, If I remember correctly the back nine is the same design.

Speaker 1:

It's been a long time.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, it's been a long time since I I've looked into it, but wasn't it a Atari or Nintendo, somebody like that?

Speaker 1:

I don't remember.

Speaker 3:

Konami Gary.

Speaker 2:

Gary who?

Speaker 3:

Gary Panks.

Speaker 2:

Gary who.

Speaker 3:

Gary Panks.

Speaker 2:

Who the hell's that Exactly he hasn't done?

Speaker 1:

many he did Wolf Green. We're good to go.

Speaker 3:

Wolf probably goes to senior homes to pick up the elderly.

Speaker 1:

That's a little bit better than your last one. You're still.

Speaker 3:

There we go. I like that one, that one's good Come on Paul, Let him have it.

Speaker 2:

We've been doing it. Hey, one thing that. We've been doing it, paul. The one thing that Gary Panks makes me think of is Jerry, pat, hey, right, pete, pete. Sorry, pat, right, sorry, I have had a few, but he designed a fantastic course just south of Birmingham, alabama Timberline fantastic course.

Speaker 1:

And if you've never played it go get there.

Speaker 2:

That place was a blast.

Speaker 1:

Timberline is sick and it's so under the, it's so under the radar yeah, that's the first stretch of holes I've never I've never heard anyone talk about timberline just south of birmingham, alabama high tide, high tide, uh, okay, so uh, thoughts on Homa going to Cobra.

Speaker 2:

Interesting. Yeah perfect word for it. It's like Jeremy going to fucking Wilson golf balls.

Speaker 1:

I was watching on X, a lot of people were like I've never seen a player leave titleist and do better. They said, except for tiger. But then he also had titleist, make him nike iron, so blah, blah, blah, blah. Uh, but it had me thinking that, can you guys? I'm not that I can't recall that many titleist players that left that stand out, but it was a surprise. I thought I figured he was a Titleist lifer. He just seemed like a guy that was going to rock Titleist the rest of his life.

Speaker 2:

He seems like he fits Titleist.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Good golfer humble, not a big braggadocious type of guy. Let's his game do his talking. But yeah, the game didn't talk much last year.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, Maybe, maybe they promised him that they would like develop for him, or you know, he I mean he wasn't the highest player on title list, I don't know. It's it's a very interesting move, so we'll see. He also went to Lululemon, which they do make great clothes. So left Travis Matthew.

Speaker 1:

Great call of shorts.

Speaker 3:

Maybe Cobra said you know what, Now that Lexi's retiring, why don't you come on over and we'll give you her money too?

Speaker 1:

We'll give you the Lexi money.

Speaker 3:

Joe looks like Frodo Baggins' grandmother. Is this guy real?

Speaker 2:

Okay, get Matt. Get Matt now. You sucked on me, so go get Matt. You sucked on me, you sucked on me Careful.

Speaker 1:

Joe.

Speaker 2:

Careful Joe. Good lord man, you didn't do very well, yeah, you didn't do very well.

Speaker 1:

Go get Matt now, as long as he doesn't wear Malbon. Yeah, ooh, ouch, ouch, ouch who said that.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I mean and if everybody knows Malbon for me I'm not a big fan I did get. So Katie got me the Air Force or Air Max 1 shoes, collaboration with Eastside Golf, those shoes for Christmas. Have you guys seen those Mm-mm? And it's hard for me to go back to Nike because I've been in true for so long, like it's my everyday, it's my work shoe, it's my casual shoes, my golf shoe. Like they run the gambit, you know, like that's what I wear. They're all white. Don't really enjoy all white shoes. Yeah, I held them and I was like these are clunky, I'm getting old is basically what I figured out when I took those out the box.

Speaker 1:

They're getting clunky.

Speaker 2:

I'm getting old.

Speaker 1:

It's all downhill from here, man it's 23 days away. I'll have my 40 year old talk with you, like I did with the other guys.

Speaker 3:

Yeah welcome to the club, joe, yeah yeah, it's only downhill from here, brother yep, someone's gonna fucking down the spiral from here.

Speaker 2:

Who's been coming? Maybe, maybe I'm not gonna go there.

Speaker 1:

Actually I should stop uh, rob say, didn't adam scott leave tyler's years back and had a good stretch after the switch? He's been playing his own branded irons from Mira isn't he?

Speaker 3:

those AS yes, those are Mira irons, but no, I think he's right.

Speaker 1:

I think, yeah, he may be the. He may be the only one that I can think of. This is a can of worms.

Speaker 3:

Swing with that shot.

Speaker 2:

Anything saw it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I saw it.

Speaker 2:

What are?

Speaker 1:

your thoughts on the band and lottery.

Speaker 2:

I don't know exactly how it works. It's going to take a cycle or two for the feedback to come back to say if it's good or bad.

Speaker 1:

I don't know exactly how it works. It's going to take a cycle or two for the feedback to come back to say if it's good or bad. I don't know. I mean, I was upset at Bandon when they got rid of Grandfather and people in for the Solstice, but I understood why they wanted more people to be able to experience it. So I get it. It makes sense.

Speaker 3:

So maybe they're at a point now where they're like dude, we're selling out to the same people every year.

Speaker 2:

Let's try to open this up to people who want to come here that haven't been able to. Yeah, I mean, I've never been able to go it was grandfather situation.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, I got to do that, you know yeah, I mean we got, we got lucky that time, you know, because I mean it's sold out in 10 minutes. Yeah, for that one, we. But then they raise the price even more and it's just like good lord, you know, you, you have these amazing events and you get people hooked on them and then you go ha ha, gotcha, yeah want to do it again psych the thing for me is like it really sucks, dude, because it is.

Speaker 2:

It is like my, my favorite place I've ever been, you know, and and matt was, uh, you know, greeted me and courted me my first time there and it's a. It's a very special place and I would love just for everybody to see it once, and maybe, if the lottery helps, that that's awesome. If it doesn't, that sucks. Uh, we don't know how it's gonna play out. I just, uh, I want my opportunity to go back when I want to go back. So I think it's gonna take. I think it's gonna take some time until we see how it plays out. It's just crazy how it's exploded and the lottery will probably go away in like two or three years because, you know we're we're at a precipice for golf.

Speaker 1:

You know the bubble's about to burst man.

Speaker 2:

This is as high as it's going to get.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I don't think it can go much higher, you know.

Speaker 2:

So if people continue to play golf, that's fantastic, but I think this is the spot where it's as high as it's going to get. The demand is as high as it's going to go. So I don't know. I just want my opportunity to be able to go back when I'm able to go back. So I don't know. Like I said, I haven't learned about the lottery that much, but it can be good, it can be bad. We'll see what happens. It's so new. All I'm hoping is, with all the other places and destinations being opened by dream golf, I mean, there's sand Valley, there's rodeo dunes opening, there is a the spot ines opening. There is, uh, the spot in florida opening.

Speaker 1:

There's a spot in texas opening you know, hopefully, with all these other places coming up, the people that have only been going to their band and will like hey, let's go now and open up some spots. So, yeah, that that's what I'm hoping. Citrus sucks Uh-oh, hoping that that will take place and we'll see.

Speaker 2:

Citrus is not Dream Golf, though I think right, if you're talking about Citrus Farms.

Speaker 1:

That's Cabot, Cabot.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, I guess it is Dream Golf, but I don't know. I think it's going to take some time for these other locations to build up their repertoire of courses.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think it helps though, that knowing what you get for your money at Bandon is now available in different areas. It's not going to nobody's going to. Anybody that's been to Bandon is not going to be blown away with the experience at Rodeo Dunes or whatever the place they're building in.

Speaker 2:

Texas. It's different. It's just going to be a different environment, you know so but that's those that really appreciate it, yeah. Those that really appreciate the golf course architecture are going to fall in love with these other places just as much.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, architecture, are going to fall in love with these other places just as much.

Speaker 2:

The ones that love the ocean front are going to be like oh, I got to go back to Bandon because there's an ocean there. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's just giving these courses an opportunity to wow everybody in a different aspect of the game. You know it's really hard to fuck up Bandon. You could have had some not great golf architecture done there and it still would have been pretty amazing. Fortunately, we had some amazing golf architecture take place there, so that even makes it even better. But I don't think people are aware that that can happen somewhere else.

Speaker 2:

Miles said but why is Trails number one for so many without the ocean?

Speaker 1:

Because I think you have four courses there on the ocean, or three on the ocean, that or no, there's four if you count Mac and Trails is different, it's just different.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, I don't think it's the ocean. I think Trails tells the best story.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've always said that you got the meandering through the dunes you go through the meadows, you go out in the mountains, come back into the meadows and end on the dunes.

Speaker 2:

It's just trails is a great story. It's a book, great story. So I don't know. I'm really, I'm really, really, really excited to see what rodeo dunes becomes, because it's a, it's a day trip for us in las vegas. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 2:

Sheep has more ocean than any and it's the worst, but that's the most I mean. Yes, I agree, but that's the great thing about Bandon is it's created a story of what happened there and you are free to choose what you think is the best. Some think sheep is the best.

Speaker 1:

I don't, but some do dan thinks one of the par threes out there is pretty awesome yeah, but I thought of one hole I.

Speaker 2:

I think. I think there are opportunities for dream golf to create other destinations that are going to be just as good without an ocean, but it's going to take some time, and I think that's what they're trying to do. They're probably trying to spread it out and it's just going to take time.

Speaker 1:

Any sheep lovers only have a hole in one. Miles is on one tonight, man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he must've had some wine tonight. Did you drink that? Uh like 19 1986 bordeaux or something, but no, I and there's good spots everywhere, I mean sheep has probably the best opening hole on bandit. Personally, I love the opening hall on sheep I really, I love the volcano hole, I love the turtle head. I hate that fucking hole 82 racha there you go see, it was four years off too funny, too funny, all right.

Speaker 1:

So, uh, being uh new years, I I was curious do you guys have any uh resolutions, any golf resolutions, any life resolutions, any, any, anything, anything. And if y'all want to chime in on yours, we'll share them If you're still here set.

Speaker 3:

Paul Peters. Sorry, you're, I'm sure you're, I'm going to listen to God damn fat straight up, right here, straight up, I got. I'm looking to drop about 40 pounds, so yeah, I uh um Kenzie.

Speaker 1:

uh, uh, I don't know if you guys remember kenzie, she was in the vg and a couple years ago, uh, she uh got um her nutritionist license and she opened up her own business. She is uh doing sports nutrition now and she was running a promo. I helped, I throw some love out there, shared some support, and so I I won uh some consultation with her uh, so she's going to help me get my nutrition on the right path. I'm excited now that I can actually exercise. I've been going on walks, been riding the peloton, doing my knee exercises and stretching, feeling really good. So, uh, same dan I'm. You know, last year, uh, I put a lot of weight on because of the injury and it really really has affected me more than I thought. So I'm looking forward to uh doing that as well.

Speaker 1:

I'm happy I hit uh two years of uh sobriety been two years since I've had a drink. I'm pretty happy about that. Uh have no, no qualms about it and no desire to go back to it. So going to keep that rolling. And, um, yeah, I don't really have any golf resolutions. Um, I always try to set goals for myself and I I tend to get more disappointed of not hitting a goal than the work at trying to get it to it. So, uh, I think I'm I'm gonna have a little soul golf this year, with you know, uh, not being so fixated on trying to improve certain aspects of my game and just going out there and playing and seeing, uh, seeing what comes of it. Not that I'm not going to grind and not that I'm not going to try and get better, but, uh, we will, we'll we'll see how it goes so.

Speaker 3:

Hell yeah, good for you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh, I also. I also do want to get the the master fitter certification with with callaway. I think that'll be a that'll be a fun thing to have that way julian and I can be a you know master fitting team here in the valley, which by the way your callaway stuff. I know all the the leaks and everything. We're out and uh man good lord, did that freaking elite driver get some hate? I don't know if you guys saw that post that I shared from golf digest.

Speaker 1:

It's the costco driver oh my god, I was like damn people are bitter as hell. Um, that's why I said please, please, schedule a fitting, go online schedule fitting and go hit it. Doesn't cost you anything to schedule a fitting and go hit it and just see for yourself. I will say firsthand it's very good is it going to change your life?

Speaker 1:

I have no idea. Could it? It really could. Could it just be terrible? Yes, it could just be terrible for you, but I will say this the fairway woods and that's what I've been touting are amazing, and dan shared a leaked photo with me today that we saw they have a titanium version coming, which I didn't know about. That was news to me. Um, that has me getting time secrets.

Speaker 3:

It's already on the website. It's on the callaway website already. Oh wow, it almost $500.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it came out today. The stuff was released today.

Speaker 2:

Low-level company man.

Speaker 1:

I'm not high up in the company yet to get those leaks.

Speaker 2:

Secret weapon.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the Fairway Woods are going to be game changers. Ooh, Golfo's buying a new putter this year. What are you buying? What are you looking?

Speaker 3:

at what are you buying, Golfo?

Speaker 1:

Don't say that. I mean, what are you looking at? Yeah, the fairway woods, I think, are going to be. They look ridiculous the showstoppers this year. The tech that they have in that it's been. It's not new tech. I think it's just a revision of some tech from years, from days going past. Uh yeah, but the way that they've done dude it's, it's gonna be special, it's gonna.

Speaker 3:

I wish they would have stuck with the matte finish or or carbon it is the only one that has on the on the triple diamond yeah, the triple diamond is the only one that's gloss and I don't yeah don't get it do you remember the old school callaway ft3 or ft1, I think it? Was that's exactly what I reminded me of. Yeah, with the gloss black head. That's exactly what that club reminds me of I don't like the gloss black.

Speaker 1:

I I think matt is just. It's so much more appealing. It's not shiny, it's easier to look at. Um, you know, I think was pxg one of the first ones to ever do a matt.

Speaker 3:

Finished when, when their gen one first came out yeah, they might have been one of the well yeah, and the first ones to do it, for sure it's just it look, it's so.

Speaker 1:

It's so such good eye candy it's. It's nice looking at the bottom of the club I was chatting with uh, uh matt from canada that's my wife first. Uh, why so many people get go nuts over the what the bottom of a driver looks like? You know the only time I told him it is funny. Yeah, I, I never see the bottom of a driver looks like you know.

Speaker 2:

The only time I told him it is funny, yeah I.

Speaker 1:

I never see the bottom of my driver unless I'm making an adjustment or I put in my bag before I put my cover on, which I never do. I always put my cover on before I put in the bag yeah I never see the bottom of my club you know, occasionally I'll look at it to see if there's any t-marks or anything so I can check my path.

Speaker 3:

But other than that, or maybe to throw some lead on it to get my swing weight, but yeah, I think a lot of people, a lot of people probably just look at the price tag at some of these new drivers and and they see that they're 600, 700, you know whatever, 500 or whatever you're getting them for, um, and they want to just look at artwork at their, at their club. You know, it's more of like what looks pretty instead of what actually feels good and what works best for me. Yep. So yeah, I think just a lot of people are just, you know, obviously they're unhappy with the color choices. I see a lot of that, a lot of the color choices being being being ripped into exactly, but um, overall.

Speaker 3:

I mean, once you set that club up, like you said, you can't see the bottom. You don't know. It's white and green and it's got all the shit on the bottom it looks good from the top, so it looks fantastic I think that's why a lot of people get all up in arms, you know, because they just they want to look at something super pretty from the top and from the bottom well, I don't see it on my vip site yet.

Speaker 1:

So um, do they have? Did they have the drivers on there too?

Speaker 3:

I just saw the tight. I just, oh, yes, they did have the drivers on there, um, but yeah, I, I, I think I saw it on an instagram ad and then it said shop now, or sort of click the link here. And then I hit the link and it took me to the callaway site where they had all the clubs up oh shit, yeah, there it is yeah, that titanium 349 triple diamond is 399 dude, it's all.

Speaker 1:

There's no green in it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's all blacked out. Yeah, it's pretty $449. Yeah, it's $450.

Speaker 1:

Fairway's coming up to driver prices.

Speaker 3:

Oh, my Lord.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Wow, when I saw that I was like holy shit. Wow, that is crazy. All right, let's get the prices on the new drivers the Elite 599, elite X 599, triple Diamond 649, max 599. So yeah, 599 and 650. 600 and 650 drivers, jesus criminy.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I like that. I like that.

Speaker 1:

Elite Titanium 3 wood I'm probably going to buy one Dude that is.

Speaker 3:

As soon as you guys get the heads you got to, let me know, because I want to. I want you to make me one so I can try it, swing it three times and decide whether I want to buy it or not.

Speaker 1:

Do they have? It's available. 117 is when they come out. Man, that is God, that is good looking. Do they have available? 117 is when they come out. Man, that is God, that is good looking. Mm, hmm, mm, hmm. What is a elite titanium best for versatility and power? Enhanced performance Forgiveness is higher, spin is low, launch is high. You got me at enhanced performance. Oh, good stuff. I will go and test everything that's available here at Grand Junction, colorado. Oh, if you can. I wish Callaway did better with our putter fittings. But yeah, get fit though. Get get fit. Stop makes Get fit, stop Get fit Makes a difference.

Speaker 2:

It does.

Speaker 3:

Joe, you going to make any changes in your golf bag soon. I know you're loving your driver, so you're probably set with that. Any thoughts on a new 5-wood? Or maybe get some new irons?

Speaker 2:

What's up, bro, I got to get the epoxy out of my driver head. I did text Julian. He's much closer than matt is, so he said bring it. Bring it by tomorrow. I said I'm playing saturday so I can't, and he said if we can bring it by after, so I might do that, just need it back by south carolina trip. Um no, I think I do still love my irons man. I mean, I really like those irons, so I would love to get some of those new new levels. They look great, so we'll see it happens there. Maybe one of these days need a six pick.

Speaker 2:

Hey, I've been doing pretty well, but I do need new wedges. I need a new pick. Hey, I've been doing pretty well, but, uh, I do need new wedges. I need a new 60 for sure, I need a new 60 degree and I could use a new five wood for sure.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, look at, they're showing the what's in the bag for colin, because he's got the, you know, the new qi 35 and and all this stuff he's he is still rocking the original sim titanium. Yeah, and so am I I still have the five wood joe does too.

Speaker 2:

It's so good, it's very good so good I think, those.

Speaker 1:

I think those were like 250 when they came out and I was like good lord, 250 dollars for a fairway wood.

Speaker 2:

I think it was 270, 280 but that's. But that might end up being one of those clubs like in the future. That's like oh, you got the same titanium you know, you know one of those legends. I think that might be a legend club it's pretty freaking special.

Speaker 1:

It's really good.

Speaker 2:

It's really good.

Speaker 1:

All right. So I think you know we got an hour eight. I think we can kill it this week. We can wrap it, we can wrap it, we can wrap it. I do want to wish everybody a happy new year. Hope you had a great holiday season.

Speaker 1:

It's back to work For me. I'm going to start pounding VGN stuff all over the place because we need to get a lot more people signed up. Send some stuff out. Today got some great feedback from everybody, so we got 45 people, I think, right now Just a few behind where we were this time last year, but we'll see. We'll see how it goes.

Speaker 1:

I also want to make sure to give some love to Roars Roars Golf for his continued support for the show, the Golf Stop and Las Vegas Golf Superstore and, of course, scott Russo from Unwritten Law for allowing us to use Harmonic on the intro. I also want to give some love to Matty G. He's been a crazy busy man with work and family. He really wants to contribute more to us. It's just been a time crunch for him. So no worries, you know he always has a home here with us and we're happy that you know everything's going well for him.

Speaker 1:

I do want to send some good, positive vibes out to Matty Boyd. His wife's going through some shit right now that he's been spending a lot of time with her at home and in the hospital, so our prayers and thoughts are with you and yeah. So, fiji and fam, we're here for you and yeah, that's all I got. Everybody stay safe. A lot of psychos going on and it's only going to get crazier the next couple weeks, I have a feeling, with all the shit that's going to be going on. So, you know, make sure to kiss your loved ones and enjoy that time that you do get out on the golf course, because not everybody has that time in their lives to have time on the course. We're very fortunate and please, please, do not take that for granted. All right, joe, wrap it up.

Speaker 2:

I think he's becoming a soul golfer over here, Don't take your time for granted on the course Holy cow Soul golfer incoming.

Speaker 1:

Never, even if you have a douche starter named Dylan.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I have spent the past two weeks taking care of the kids. I only get to play golf one time. Uh and uh. Yeah, it got to me a little bit, but you know what? I get to play golf this saturday and uh, next week, on thursday, me, dan trey and juju are going out to south carolina for our biannual. At this point, uh, yeah, golf trip for our birthdays. Uh, I can't wait for that. It's gonna be fucking freezing, but uh dude, I saw the weather forecast.

Speaker 1:

What the hell yeah what the hell's going on? It changed pretty quickly it went from 62 to 42.

Speaker 2:

I was like we just got some bad luck yeah, but hey, just just like we're going man, the just like the day.

Speaker 1:

Anything could change at the drop of a hat yeah, german, I can take a road trip to rams hill while you guys are gone just like the, the paint on a bottom of a driver can change from Elite to Costco real quick.

Speaker 2:

We're still going and we're going to have a good time, and if we don't get all the holes in, then we don't get them all in, but we're still going and we're going to have a good time because we're with the homies and we're enjoying ourselves. So hopefully you get out there and play some golf as soon as you possibly can. If you are in the northeastern part of the united states, come down to the southwest. If you're in iceland, go down to south africa. Just get out there, play some golf, buy a fucking simulator. Whatever you got to do, get your swings out there.

Speaker 1:

I'm just saying man.

Speaker 2:

It's therapy man, it's a way to escape. So hopefully you get to do that this week, Hopefully you get to do it next week or whenever it is the next time.
