Speaker 1:

What is up everybody? What is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast, number 307, on your radio dial this evening. Joe is here, dan is here, I am here. My name is Matt Jeremy. Oh, we'll jump on as soon as we walk through the door. Okay, jeremy is on his way here. He'll be here shortly.

Speaker 1:

So a whole bunch of shit to talk about tonight. It's of nice, um, that we have a lot of content to talk about. So, uh, first off, I want to give a shout out to, uh, the golf stop, which, um, I will be there tomorrow. Golf stop, uh, indoor track band facility in west henderson on the saint rose parkway corridor. Um, awesome place, awesome place, great. You know, with it being crazy windy these few days, it's gonna be nice to be able to go inside and hit some good golf balls and get some good data, and that's what I'm looking to do there.

Speaker 1:

Also want to give some love to roars, uh, roars golf company, uh, big show supporter and sponsor for us, and he's living the dream down there in Miami. And then also a big shout out Scott Russo, unwritten Law, letting us use that intro harmonic man. I love that song, brings back so many good memories. So this is a rundown. I jotted all this down and we can pick and choose whatever we want to talk about. Harry was at the Century, had a top-ten finish out at Kapalua. That was a blast to watch, even though he got no TV coverage near the end.

Speaker 1:

It's like there's only three groups on the course. Can we get some Harry Hall shots, please? But no, tgl first match was tonight on on espn. That's going to be the hot topic, so we'll be talking about that. Uh, what is 1440 golf? Uh, yeah, I'll. Maybe, if anybody cares, I'll talk about why the breakfast ball, the breakfast ball, is gone. Um, golf week, golf week magazine came out with their courses. You have public access to best in state list. That's a mouthful. So I've got the top 15 that they posted and we can chastise and criticize and do it. What everybody does to us. That might be fun. We played some golf out of Revere this past weekend. Joe and Dan are headed to South Carolina, jeremy's going to Scottsdale and Adele was bought by Pens and Aces. Nobody saw that coming. So thanks everybody for tuning in. And boys, what do you want to start the show with? Do you want to go to the hot topic and just go right to?

Speaker 2:

TGL. Start off with TGL.

Speaker 1:

Let's start off with TGL. Joe has been a huge proponent of TGL. He has not said one bad thing about it.

Speaker 1:

I even tried enticing him into saying some negative things in a text chat tonight and he'd deflect, deflect, but it was on ESPN tonight, national broadcast, tiger Woods saying you know, 260 countries this was being previewed in. It was better than I thought I honestly I thought the production value was really good. Espn knows what the hell they're doing. I think some of the things that were lacking was statistics. Occasionally they threw up ball speed and stuff like that. They have all that. Why they're not using it more, I don't know. Maybe they're trying to keep stuff off the screen and not be so Livy and F1 type stuff, but overall I thought it was entertaining. It's a Tuesday night. What else are you going to watch? It's a filler between Sundayay and thursday for us golf nuts. So, dan, I know joe's probably gonna have a million things to say. So, dan, uh, let's get in your your two cents and then we'll uh, we'll, unleash the kraken no, I thought, uh, I thought it was pretty cool.

Speaker 2:

Um, I can. Um, what I really liked off the bat was seeing that you can hit off of real grass, fairways, rough and sand. I think that was a pretty cool touch.

Speaker 1:

How about the lip being raised to in the bunker? Did?

Speaker 2:

you see that.

Speaker 1:

That was cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's it's like. It seems like all the little details were kind of thought out, thought ahead of and it looks good on tv so far, um, the green complex, spinning and and that whole. You know the way the little uh jacks underneath the uh, underneath the green can make the contours change. That I think that's pretty cool. The one thing I didn't like a whole lot about it was the green shape never changed. I mean, the holes all changed, but the green shape never did, and I wish that there was like a way where you can, you know, change the greens.

Speaker 1:

Um, I know they can change the they can change lies and in the areas that are flat they can manipulate those. But I I was expecting the, like the whole green, to change yeah, that's.

Speaker 2:

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, there was the middle high point and two low points on the left and right and that was on every shot and I and I get it. That's what the green is, but I would rather see a more intricate, rounder green and have them be able to change it yeah, yeah, I wish that could be maybe something addressed in the future or something.

Speaker 2:

Um, because it just kind of seemed like after a while, these guys are going to know how the brakes are when the green contours never change. Yeah, um, but um, other than that, I thought it was pretty fun, um, especially, like I said, for a tuesday night. I mean, what else you're going to watch? You know it provides it entertainment, that's for sure. It's definitely already, I think, in my opinion, already a little bit better production value than anything Liv has put up. Oh, by a mile, but yeah, I mean, it's something different. It's going to not guarantee you not everybody's going to love it, but I give it a thumbs up.

Speaker 1:

I thought it was cool. I was perusing twitter before we came on and, uh, a lot of grumpy old men out there matt janella being one of them, which really surprised me.

Speaker 1:

Um, luke judge on instagram hey, thanks for everybody that's tuned in. We got a bunch of people. Miles is on there. Tim flote is on there. Rocky's on thereay is on there. Rocky is on there. Luke Judge is asking is there only one stadium for it? Yeah, everything. It's one venue in Palm Beach, florida, that they play all the matches at. It would be crazy to make that in more than one place.

Speaker 5:

It would be cool, but it's a huge investment.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, but you never know. I mean, if it blows up and this goes crazy, then you may have venues in other cities. Another thing, dan, to add on to your mild grapes the team names is just dumb.

Speaker 5:

They are dumb.

Speaker 1:

They're very stupid. It's bad. I mean xander shoffley and ricky fowler, cal or california kids, what are you doing? Playing for the new york? New york golf club from england yeah, you know, it doesn't make any sense, so uh I.

Speaker 5:

I do understand that he's on the boston team I do understand that in the sense of like. If you're creating like an nfl you know, you're not gonna I? I mean it's gonna take some time to grow I understand that.

Speaker 1:

I seriously doubt anybody in new york gives a shit that xander shoffley's on their team. You know it doesn't matter.

Speaker 5:

It doesn't like I get cameron young. I mean cameron young or something you know.

Speaker 1:

So anyways, all right, joe, you've been a big proponent of this, let's, let's hear it I have.

Speaker 5:

I mean I, I I enjoyed it. Right it's, it's digestible golf for the masses. I mean that's really what it is right. It's quick, quick to the point like bang, bang bang. I thought it was a little too quick. I mean I'm a golfer, but it is what it is. Um, I thought it was entertaining. This is not real golf, it is entertainment golf. It is, uh, to put golf in front of more eyes. And I understand that. And if you just take in the account that korea is one, one of the biggest places where golf is consumed and they don't play actual golf, they play golf on simulators. So it is the wave. I mean technology has changed our way of life over the past 20 years tremendously right. Like I mean just thinking I the first iphone and it's changed tremendously. Like I had the, I had the silverback gorilla iphone.

Speaker 5:

I was one of the first to have it and it is what it is and it's changed tremendous, tremendously, but um, I thought it was enjoyable. It's hilarious. Um, I thought it was enjoyable, uh it. It will never replace real golf.

Speaker 1:

It will never replace being out there and they're not trying to.

Speaker 5:

And that's what I think that's where a lot of the old timers because I had a little beef with someone on X about that and you know, and they're not trying to do that you know the technology has changed everything the way we consume food, the way we watch television, everything the way we communicate, and it was inevitable until it reached golf. And it has reached golf and it's nice that we have the players that we like to watch on the weekends being able to play golf and it's not the same teams every week. This is a two-hour format where you can digest golf in a fun atmosphere, be entertained for two hours and, uh, enjoy some shots. They're hitting off real grass. I mean the, the screen is bigger than anything you'll ever play on and you know the technology is amazing. But you know I where going to take time to teach it how to grow and learn.

Speaker 5:

And you know this is the first. This is the first plate that they've served and I thought it was good. I mean it's going to take some time until they they get that five course meal and it. I believe it'll happen. This will never replace the masters's, never gonna replace pga champion. You know that. That's not what it is, and I think people need to get that through their head. This is a weekday entertainment, uh viewing experience and and just watch.

Speaker 5:

This is not real golf, this is entertainment, you know, I think people need to get that to their heads top golf changed the way, you know, people practice golf.

Speaker 1:

They made it golf attainment. Pop stroke has changed the way people putt and you know, now it's more golf retainment. This is golf retainment, with some of the best golfers in the world playing at a decked out, tech infused environment a little bit of a crowd, I think they're. They're going to find out what works, what doesn't work. I was telling Joe, or in our chat, I was saying you know, it would be awesome to have their caddies there in the booth. You know, talking just about the golfers a little bit, that might be fun. There's all kinds of different things that they can do. It's easy to pick apart, you know, the, the things that we don't like. Like the camera angles on some of them were like really bad.

Speaker 5:

Uh, they can fix some of that, but yeah, and some of the camera like the contrast on some of those cameras were garbage.

Speaker 1:

They looked like cartoon characters that one with Ricky I don't know what they were doing with that one, but that was. That was weird, yeah, but overall, overall, I thought it was, I thought it was good, I, I, I think they got to stop with the gimmies make them just put it out.

Speaker 5:

You know I understand it's just for fun and everything, but I think be surprised how many putts those guys miss. You know that they're giving them gimmies. I will say one thing is like this was a blowout. I think they could have. I think it would have been much better if it was a closer match, like I'm sure they were.

Speaker 1:

You know, I'm sure they were begging for it to come down to the wire. Just he's gonna win, totally like and, and you know, I'm sure they were begging for it to come down to the wire.

Speaker 5:

So he's going to win Totally Like and, and you know, we got to see some of their personalities, like Xander's like throw the hammer, throw it, just do the hammer, fucking, throw it, you know, and I think I think it's a a escape for them from the grind of actual true golf and we're going to get to see more personalities from the game through this than we than we saw on um full swing or even on, you know, the, the pga coverage. I think it's going to come out eventually and I think they're going to get more comfortable with it and I think, I think it's going to bring us closer to some of our favorite players in the long run.

Speaker 1:

Do you think Shane Lowry's going to get fined for his F-bomb drop, since Colin Maracal was getting fined?

Speaker 5:

No, I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

I wish they'd let it go. Oh, it was hilarious. I mean, he's giving a total compliment to Ludwig.

Speaker 1:

He's like what a fucking shot that was.

Speaker 5:

I think that's great. I mean, you know, when we play golf with each other, we are, we're out there and there's no boundaries, you know, and I I think that's what we want to see from the people that we look up to. You know, I don't look up to them per se, but you know, I want to play golf like they do and I respect their game. Yeah, I think it gives it's potential that it can give us a window into how they exist off of the course when they are free.

Speaker 1:

Did you, did you hear the jab at Xander when he said, when he was chipping on the green and he goes oh, I chunked it, they go, oh, oh, it's probably that calloway ball, it's like oh, shots fired shots fired

Speaker 5:

I think that I think it's going to give us a lot of those little moments. They're going to be great. Yeah, uh, the. So one thing I noticed was, on chipping, a lot of those balls came out really low. I mean, I I know that they have the pros can you know, hit those little low spinners better than we can, but it looked like, uh, maybe they didn't get enough practice over there or whatnot.

Speaker 1:

But, um, and I do feel like that green might not have been working the way they wanted it to, because there was that high point that was feeding and, uh, if they get rid of that high point, I think it can pneumatically move better if you want to totally nerd out and I'll all, let me write this down so I don't forget um to post this in the show notes but if you want to totally nerd out on some golf data, um, the sweet spot podcast, uh, a little couple episodes back, um broke down, uh chipping and and the club going into the ball off of turf versus grass, and I mean it's great If you want to to nerd out, if you don't care, don't worry about it. But uh, yeah, they should have hired southwest greens. Yeah, right, uh, good stuff though. Good stuff though. Um, so what do you think? What? What's the life expectancy for this? Do you think it's a couple seasons? Are they expecting for it to go longer than that? How long do you think it's going to be around?

Speaker 2:

Go ahead. I think it's probably. I mean, I think the novelty will wear off eventually. They're going to have to figure out different formats, maybe incorporate some YouTube golfers, I don't know. But yeah, I can see that this can probably have a couple good seasons. First one to work the kinks out. Second one to try to maybe perfect it. But you know, eventually people are going to be like, okay, yeah, it's. You know. Eventually people can be like, okay, yeah, it's. You know, it is what it is. I don't, I think that if there's not, like constant innovations and that type of that type of entertainment, it will uh, it will fade a little bit, I think I.

Speaker 1:

I agree with what joe said, as long as people understand this is entertainment purposes only. This is not. You're not getting world ranking points. You're not getting into majors. You're not, you know, locking up Ryder Cup positions. This is for fun on a Tuesday, before these guys head off to play their golf tournament for the week.

Speaker 1:

I mean, xander was in Hawaii, you know, two days ago, so, um, maybe a little jet lag with him tonight, yeah um, but I, I think, as long as everybody understands that and uh, you know it can be seen as hey, you know, let's, let's throw on tgl tonight and see what's going on, um, you know, after jeopardy or whatever people are watching I think there's more to it than that.

Speaker 5:

I think they're betting on the future of golf that is already here. I mean, like, shout out the golf, stop. You know. You know, shout out, five iron shot. I mean, there's so many of these facilities popping up and this is the new wave of golf and you know, if there's not a facility that has the room to throw up a 65 by 100 foot screen, I mean people that can get into the facilities that are hitting into the screens are going to aspire to play that arena. You know, and I think, um, they are, they have, they have placed a big bet on the future of golf, which the future of golf is already here and it's growing.

Speaker 5:

Obviously, like I mentioned, um, I mean, and it's not golf, okay, like you know, golf is played outside and you know, like one of the guys said, old old Tom Morris would be turning in his grave, and I I did agree with, I did agree with him, right, and so would CB McDonald and AW Tillinghast and all these other guys. You know, one of the things I love about golf is being able to get out for four hours with my friends and play outdoors and enjoy being out in nature and this TGL will never replace that. Like it's just not going to happen. And the golf stop leagues, like they fill in the moments between your moments where you can get out and actually play, because we can't play golf all the time, you know, but maybe squeeze in an hour and go hit up the golf stop to play indoors and and find out what you're doing. So this is two hours, you know how long does a golf tournament last? All fucking day, because there's four days.

Speaker 5:

Exactly so I think. I think it's fulfilling a thing, something that's in between what golf actually is and it's giving you some entertainment value once a week where you can sit down for two hours, have some fun and enjoy it. I think the longevity is there. I do believe that maybe they bring in some youtube golfers, create some other teams, you know, and like the whole team, the whole team situation is all fucked. I don't understand it at all, but um, never have understood the team I think this is a a breakout breakout concept that can go far.

Speaker 5:

It just depends on how this first season goes and how they can tweak what needs to be tweaked.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what about Ricky Fowler chucking the flag in front of Lowry? That was hilarious.

Speaker 2:

I wish they can be like. I feel like those guys when they were out playing practice rounds and stuff like that. There's so much shit talking going on. Oh, so much, and that's the shit I want to hear. And I know they've got to keep it PC and keep it clean for ESPN, but I kind of wish they had a little bit of liberty or maybe this was like a Netflix stream or something like that, where they can actually just be themselves and just talk shit the whole time.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, throw it on espn plus throw on that you know, like you know, and some of these guys, like shane lowry, for instance, like you know, shane lowry wanted to crack a beer right there and just start talking shit you know I love that shit.

Speaker 2:

I, I wanted that's. That's the golfers I want to see and get to know and get the real behind the scenes. I mean this is cool, this is great, but, like I said, there's like Joe said too, maybe like this first season is where they work out all the kinks, and then next season or you know, a couple of seasons down the road. You know, maybe they do go to ESPN Plus and that, you know, has become something that they do.

Speaker 1:

I do love luke's take on having to draft corn fairy players. You're not going to get a tour card for playing indoor. No, no, I don't think it's.

Speaker 5:

I don't think I don't think it's about the tour card. I think it's about introducing the stars of tomorrow to the forefront. That's what I think it's about, but I I do like that idea there's, there's four players on every team. Only three players play every week Like what if one of them was a Corn Fairy player.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

And they're on the bench and when they get called up, they get called up, you know.

Speaker 1:

Rob said I enjoyed listening to the banner among the pros and having to hang out with the boys' vibes soul golf with the pros.

Speaker 5:

He said outside the majors, majors. I enjoyed watching this tonight as much as any middle of the road pga tournament. Yeah, yeah, I mean it was entertaining.

Speaker 1:

It was just as good as john here. I mean, like you know, I probably would have rather watched this than john. I still, I still crave the f1 style callaway versus titulus versus cobra, ping versus. I would love to see that.

Speaker 5:

I think that would be pretty good, Like the manufacturers yeah.

Speaker 1:

Oh, just take the staffers, the top staffers from each brand and, you know, do it that way Through New York Club or Jupiter Links, whatever TaylorMade against Callaway, you know that would be.

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, that would be like that.

Speaker 1:

It would be entertainment yeah right versus those you know the tour, edge and cobra and just you know get, just have some fun with the brands and you know to have some bragging rights like because everybody, every single manufacturer says number one club on tour.

Speaker 1:

You know, number one irons amongst guys 50 older that have won three times on the senior tour. You know it's, there's all these little sub texts that go to we're the number one. This because of that. And hey, let's take your best players at your staffing and let's let's have some fun with it what's funny about that is you.

Speaker 5:

You would create more of a fandom that way for sure, oh, yeah, because there's diehards like Team Mizuno or Team National Customs slash.

Speaker 4:

VFO.

Speaker 5:

Something like that Artisan. I mean you can have them play up the ranks or something. I think it would be good. I don't think it's possible, but I think it would be very fun. But that's for the nerds though, that's not for.

Speaker 1:

I know I was happy to see that they all weren't wearing uniforms with silly logos. That they were all wearing their own stuff. That made it a little bit more appealing to me. Miles says and you know, these companies are making more from this than a small section of camera time here oh yeah, they're. I mean it's, sofi is killing it. I mean, wyndham clark and sofi were all over the place. So yeah, it's, it's big exposure.

Speaker 5:

I think I think one mistake too is um, it looked like it. It looked like a VIP arena right. Like we couldn't go down to Palm Beach and like buy a ticket to this, like I don't think there's any chance for that. So I would have liked to see some more. You know, seats that are built up a little bit and I understand they didn't want to make the crowd look small, but if they wanted to turn into what they wanted to turn into, you know how am I going to get into that building? I probably can't, unless I know somebody you know.

Speaker 4:

Yeah this right here.

Speaker 1:

Excited to hear Kisner on a live mic next week. Yeah, absolutely. And Julian's chiming in about tech stuff, about the pre-data fitting hands. Yeah, we'll get to that later, julian, we're talking DGL right now.

Speaker 2:

Matty Woods, 59.

Speaker 1:

Dan, you know who that is.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that is the Matt Marino aka Darknesses, aka. I play all the top 100 all the time.

Speaker 5:

The legend Shout out to you all the time. The legend Shout out to you for Purcell Appreciate you.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 5:

That was.

Speaker 1:

Purcell was the number one Alabama public course that you can play.

Speaker 2:

On the list.

Speaker 1:

He said SimGolf, oh, he called you Hodge, so I mean, do we got to go that?

Speaker 2:

way I have a lot of big names. Okay, all right.

Speaker 1:

SimGolf is bigger than real golf in, uh, korea, japan, china. Fact that matters is how most people can be exposed to golf. The us got their introduction tonight and this can only I can't say that. I'm tired of saying that. So, uh, do you think live events still make money? Not like they used to? I think, um, live events, like pga tour live events or this, because so high, I'm sure is pretty happy with tonight. I'm sure they're making a lot of money and I don't know what tickets. So I have to reach out to some people that I know that were there and see what it cost them to get in the gate.

Speaker 5:

He might be saying live, maybe my interpretation, but who knows?

Speaker 1:

Luke Judge says do live events to make money, not like they used to, I think.

Speaker 2:

Gotcha.

Speaker 5:

Hey, shout out Luke Judge Beth Page. Ambassador, appreciate you.

Speaker 1:

Joe Play oh hey, look Kind of Bethpage. Ish yeah Right here dancing Warning shirt yeah.

Speaker 5:

You got it, have you played it?

Speaker 1:

No, but I know somebody who has One one degree Is separation this is not A Bethpage shirt, it's a it's shirt. It's a faux, it's a parody shirt. Okay.

Speaker 5:

One thing if he is talking about live, like you know, pj is skipping Vegas this year. Liv is skipping.

Speaker 1:

Vegas this year. Liv is skipping Vegas.

Speaker 5:

I mean, what bigger city that is being passed over by some major golf tournaments to skip over than las vegas we are? We are becoming the sports capital of the world. If you don't want to be here, I don't know what's wrong with you. We are diehards for our sports currently and, uh, if you want to pass this up, that's your fault, because we have great golf courses. It's just a big. We have a big golf fan base. There are no tee times available ever, unfortunately, with courses closing all the time, and you know what? What better place than to play tgl in the sphere than here?

Speaker 1:

yeah, uh, maddie said the tech display tonight was awesome. What do you guys think about that? I like, I would like to see more. I want to see a little more. Uh, I want to see more ball speed data. I want to see, I want to see them go into, uh, you know the, the clubs, the guys are playing, the, the you know bringing some nerdy I know that's not high entertainment value, it's.

Speaker 1:

It's more for, you know, nerdy guys like me. But uh, I would still like to maybe expose, if we're exposing people to the game and trying to grow, um, maybe some of that information would be interesting to those people and miles said it ain't philly, and you are correct, sir, you are correct there.

Speaker 5:

But um, what I would say is, as far as the tech, the tech was great. Okay, like I, I don't think the majority needs to see the data, but what I would love to see is the green pneumatically changing on every hole. Yeah, I'd love to see a close-up of the pumps under the green, moving the brake like a close-up, like a espn, like this, you know, scroll, you know, and and I deep down, I feel like it wasn't working tonight, you know, because they had that little high spot it didn't change down and it didn't change, so I somebody forgot to pay the pneumatic pump bill.

Speaker 5:

If those motors are not there, then they need to put motors there and move. That I think. I think, like during those moments they could like do, like a, you know, a quick little roll around and, like the green could be, you know, like a wave and moving. I think that would be entertaining, oh yeah, and it changes every time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, absolutely Exactly.

Speaker 4:

Throw a heat map on.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, totally Sick.

Speaker 1:

Well, I would like to see them incorporate what putt view does, and you know have some of that. The graphics come down on the green, showing the break showing. You know, have the little shot tracer that follows the ball, not on all of them, but like on made shots, replay it with the shot.

Speaker 5:

Right, there's, there's things that could be done I also think that's the putting and chipping area I also think the holes are so fucking out of this world, so wild, like we'll never oh my god, we'll never see that one. That was like a w like. It was like there's no land on earth where you could design that green no and I think that the last one is 746 par five.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, with the left.

Speaker 5:

Yeah there's no land on earth where you could buy to build a golf hole like that to make it fit into a golf course. But if they had, like I, I think they're missing the point. On um, the first time the holes displayed, like having whoever designed that in the digital world explained their thought process about behind it and they've done that on instagram like pizza golf he's a mexican golfer or a golf architect. He's a mexican golfer or a golf architect. He's designed some really cool shit. But like introducing a hole for the first time, like just say, like their, their thought process behind it, like 20, 30 seconds, I think that would have been cool. Like that, that hole with the landing point in the middle and it fucking wings out like who came up with that shit? That's just wild.

Speaker 5:

We'll never see that in the real world no I think just their thought process, like a little clip thinking about that would have been really cool.

Speaker 1:

I'd like to see a 20 yard fairway. You know, just make it incredibly hard to hit, then it cliffs on both sides, you know. Yeah how good are you, how good are you right now?

Speaker 1:

so I thought it was interesting that when, when matt fitzpatrick said hey, I'm not looking at the screen anymore, I'm lining. I'm lining up, you know, I'm looking where I need to hit the ball and then I'm looking down here. I've stopped looking at the screen because it was messing them up. Some. There's some good. The. The hot mic was good. Uh, you know, adam chimed in on our group chat that like live was going shit. We could have done so much better, you know, with with our production. So we'll see what. We'll see what happens with with live golf I don't think any.

Speaker 1:

The players and live are going damn it.

Speaker 5:

I wish I was there, considering the money that they have, but you never know, some of them might have well, the thing where it can come down to is if pg and live merge, there can be two different conferences. You know what I mean. Like so, and then it's.

Speaker 1:

It's the then we'll have a tuesday night, wednesday night, tgl live on netflix and prime video.

Speaker 5:

That's my thing I think on paramount plus by peacock subscription only yeah, there's a lot of there's a lot of room to grow and I think they're going to work out the kinks. I think it was great. I think it was great for showing um, I really do and um, I think they'll work out the kinks and there is a lot of room to grow because, like, like Maddie said, is, you know, in Asia most of those people only play simulator golf. They don't, they don't get out like we do. You know, they don't touch grass, but we unfortunately, fortunately, we get to play golf on real grass. Those don't in highly populated areas. So that's what they know.

Speaker 4:

Well, man.

Speaker 5:

I.

Speaker 4:

I.

Speaker 1:

I had a feeling we'd go on for a little bit about that, but uh, I didn't know it was going to go that long. I like it though it's. It's entertaining, it's good talk, it's good talk. Um, so let's, uh, let's, transition to real golf. Uh, we'll talk a little bit about the century. How much did you guys watch? Did you watch it at all? Was it on your television at all, joe, were you able to get the kids away from your tv for a little bit and watch it?

Speaker 5:

I watched a little bit but no, yeah, they're, they're absolutely insane. So the kids demanded spongebob or whatever was on a cartoon.

Speaker 1:

Um, miss rachel, yeah no, no we're past miss rachel phase, so oh, okay, yeah we're past that one I've played capalula uh, I played it 10 years ago, 10, 11 years ago, um, maybe 10 years ago. Uh, it is not an easy golf course and those guys make it look incredibly easy. When you don't have wind and you've got a soft course, uh, with big fairways and the biggest greens on tour, you're gonna see some low scores. Uh, you know, it's been 33, 34 and 35 respectively the last three years. Don't see that changing anytime soon. I don't think there's anything they can do to that court. You can't lengthen anymore. It's a par 73, for god's sakes. Uh, it's, it's a big property, it's a big golf course and you, you know it's a resort course and you get professional golfers out there that can bomb it and attack flags and on a soft course with no wind, you're going to see that. So it doesn't bother me that they're shooting 35 under. Uh, it, I'm sure it bothers the guys that shot 29 and 30 under and and didn't win.

Speaker 1:

But, uh, you know, uh, decky Alden bald it man he was he was playing some damn good golf. Colin was playing some good golf too, harry, you know our friend harry hall. Hey, he played fantastic. He had so many small missed putts that he could have easily been top three. Top four oh look who. We got jeremy's with us finally. No, not yet. Okay. Well, maybe he'll be here in a minute. Um, what, dan? What do you think if you watched? How much do you watch?

Speaker 2:

I watched like an hour of it, um, I uh. I didn't watch a whole lot, obviously, obviously, but really all I saw was Morikawa and Matsuyama pretty much playing. But you know, like you said, those courses are, fairways are wide, the greens are huge, those guys are good, the winds weren't crazy. So you know, it is what it is. They're going to go low. You got the best of the world doing what they do best, so I'm not surprised by it. I don't mind seeing it. I'd rather see people shoot 35 under than shoot, like you know, like set, like six, seven under for a tournament yeah, it makes sense.

Speaker 1:

I mean, you look at what everybody else was, you know. It's not like one person shot 35 under and everybody else was at uh 20 under, you know it wasn't that massive of a gap.

Speaker 1:

Who was the guy in the pack Dune's at that was Jeremy. He'll be back as soon as he figures out his technical difficulties. Miles, thanks for hanging out. Um, thanks for chatting TGL with us. We really appreciate it. Um, let's do it. Let's let Jeremy get his uh shit figured out. Uh, we'll run our uh ad for the week and uh, we'll be right back.

Speaker 1:

can't go wrong with it?

Speaker 5:

you can't go wrong with it, I mean they kept you like they kept you at like three of them, but you know you can't go wrong so many that they tell you not to come back.

Speaker 1:

All right, so let's go over this golf week state rankings for public access courses. Uh, basically, courses that you can play that you don't have to be a member at or get an invite to. Uh, no surprise, the first one on the list is shadow creek, uh. Then number two is cascada. Number three is wolf creek, uh. Number four is edgewood, so we'll cross that one off, because that's reno. Uh. Five is win six. This, this was a huge shocker to me. All right now is now. Are you back?

Speaker 1:

I think it's working all right, all right guys. No, no, welcome. Welcome to the show. Uh, we're talking about right now. You missed all the tgl talk, sorry you'll have to.

Speaker 4:

I didn't even watch it, so that's fine, yeah oh perfect, I'll watch a person and listen to what you guys said uh.

Speaker 1:

so golf week uh magazine came out with their uh state rankings for courses that you can play in the public. Uh, for nevada they had shadow cascada, wolf creek, edgewood, win, and then at number six they had conestoga, which was a huge surprise. Incline Village is seven, so we'll cross that off. Paiute Wolf at eight, kairi Springs at nine, paiute Sun at 10. Rio Seco 11. Paiute Snow at 12. Tbc Vegas at 13. Oasis which I'm pretty sure Oasis is private now, because that's what the guy was saying when I was in there and 15 is Reflection Bay. So, in sharp comparison to where our list finished, shadow Creek was two, so that's not terrible. Cascada was six, not bad. Wolf Creek, I don't even think, made our top 20.

Speaker 1:

um, yeah, it's down I think out of spite, it didn't yeah, uh, win was not on there because joe's the only one who's played it. Uh, conestoga, let's see where was conestoga. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do it's not in. No, no, there it is uh 17. Uh, piute wolf is five, they have it at eight. Coyote springs we have at seven, they have at nine. Uh, then the other, piute sun uh, we have it at four, they, they have it at ten.

Speaker 4:

Who cares.

Speaker 5:

Golf Digest does not play golf in Vegas like we do.

Speaker 1:

They have a point system, they have people that play it. I understand. That's why I want to tell everybody the numbers so we can trash their list.

Speaker 5:

It's more fun. I'm just getting a little upset here.

Speaker 1:

We had Oasis way down at 36. And Reflection Bay we have at 30.

Speaker 5:

And I think this is the problem with all of.

Speaker 1:

Who are you going to trust?

Speaker 5:

I'm just saying the problem with all of golf rankings. This is the problem with all of golf rankings. They come by, they play it once. They tell you what they think and you trust them. We are here all the time playing golf in our city. You can trust us and we will tell you where the best conditions are currently or where. But golf digest is not going to be like oh, this is number one, but don't go there in november. Don't go there in february.

Speaker 5:

They're not going to tell you when to go play there, but we will say skip this one. Yes, it's a great golf course, but if you want good conditions, go to this place. And and I think that's that's one of the big problems with rankings, because things change golf, golf courses. Golf courses are a living creature, you know it.

Speaker 1:

It doesn't stay the same all the time I was surprised bally high didn't make the list. I was shocked.

Speaker 5:

Good, if it did, you could just throw that fucking whole list out, because it's not worth it golfer that works at Valley High who recently posted her favorite courses.

Speaker 1:

She played last year and Valley High was number one on her list and it was just like look, we know you work there, we know they pay you to promote them. Don't tell people that that's the best course that you've played. Just stop, just stop well, I think.

Speaker 5:

I think it depends on what you want, though, you know, and it's like every time somebody asks me for recommendations, I'm like what are you looking for? You know, are you? Are you? Are you a nerd? Are you wanting to have a good time? Because I think if you wanted to get drunk and have a good time and just get shit face valley high is great for you I'm looking for a tahitian themed golf course yeah, but if you're, if you're a nerd with a close jack-in-the-box yeah, it's very close.

Speaker 5:

Yes, um, but if you're a nerd like I'm not, if you're if you're a golf nerd, I'm not sending you to ballyhai. If you're a golf nerd, I'm not sending you to Valley.

Speaker 1:

High.

Speaker 5:

I think that's the kind of thing that we can create.

Speaker 1:

If Golf Digest knew about the par mates at Valley High, it would be a solid number two. Here's a from left field question who do you guys think is going to win WrestleMania?

Speaker 5:

Shawn Michaels.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, stone Cold, stone Cold's going to do it. Ahmed.

Speaker 5:

Johnson.

Speaker 2:

Austin 316 says I just whooped your ass, Pearl.

Speaker 1:

River Plunge the Junkyard Dog.

Speaker 5:

Axel Jim Duggan.

Speaker 1:

Oh good, lord, Old days of wrestling I wish I still had it.

Speaker 5:

I had a foam like 2x4.

Speaker 1:

The lumber that I got at Thomas and Mac. Dan could probably find one.

Speaker 2:

There's probably one down in the basement.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'll go check the bat caves and see what they got. I had one man. I bet you that shit's worth a lot of money.

Speaker 1:

I'll just bring you up for real this is hacksaw lumber written on the side of it uh okay, so, uh, word of caution. So what when I, when I see what they did and I I start looking at the other places around you know other cities, other or other states and I look at the rankings and so I wonder I'm like, how legit are those you?

Speaker 5:

know. Yeah, and that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean Purcell is great, but Joe, you have one in Alabama you like way more than Purcell.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, I mean, that was my whole point to that. I didn't get to it, but it's. You know, they get to go play these courses for free. Obviously right to judge them and rate them, and I think it's. It depends on what you're looking for. You know. It really does Like if you and it depends on the day, what do you, are you?

Speaker 3:

going to have a good time.

Speaker 5:

Are you looking for the best conditions or are you looking for the hardest golf course? Are you looking for the easiest golf course? There's so many factors. That's the thing you know.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and you got to remember all these lists. It's all subjective. These are basically people's opinions. There's nothing that says yes, that is number one, number two, number three, these are just sports writers who play these courses, and this is in their opinion. National Golf Links is number two, you know, in their opinion, national golf links is number two, you know, in my opinion, it could be six, you know. So that's basically what everybody's just got to, you know. Remember that this it's all subjective, it's all opinionated.

Speaker 5:

you like what you like and enjoy it yeah, and they they might not played one that's right down the street. That's better, you know, or that they would have enjoyed more on a on an other day. But, um, do your own research. I mean, that's really what it comes down to do your own research I mean it's definitely a good.

Speaker 2:

It's a good like guideline for sure, because let's, let's break down.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, let's be real, those courses on there those courses are are legit.

Speaker 2:

They're good, but and necessarily in that order. It. It's never going to be like it. There's no way that.

Speaker 1:

I love Conestoga, don't get me wrong. I absolutely love that golf course, but there's no way it's ahead of all three of the Paiute courses. Just not even close, not even close. Not even close, all right, so that wraps up that. Uh, let's go into. Uh, you guys, uh, as in dan and joe, and hey, jeremy, happy new year.

Speaker 5:

You haven't been on the same to you guys yeah, happy new year hey, thanks you know, you know, today's the last day you can say Happy New Year right.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 5:

January 7th cut off. One week into the new year, can't say it no more.

Speaker 1:

What if you haven't seen somebody?

Speaker 5:

Doesn't matter, it's been a week. You should text them. Just say.

Speaker 4:

Happy Monday. No, it's Happy Chinese New Year coming up Well there you go.

Speaker 2:

Cisco, you're the dragon.

Speaker 1:

I'm texting you happy new year tomorrow, just just because okay if you don't understand.

Speaker 5:

There's a there's a larry david skit where he says like you get a week into the new year to say happy new year, yeah uh, it's awesome.

Speaker 1:

they changed when seinfeld's on, so I get to go to bed with Seinfeld on every night now. It's amazing, love it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, shout out TV land.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Just blocks of Seinfeld. I love it.

Speaker 1:

So you guys, as in Dan and Joe, are headed to the East coast to go freeze your nuts, I mean to go play some golf. Yeah, give everybody a rundown of where you're going, where you're going, where you're playing, and what we can expect to hear from you come next week when you return?

Speaker 2:

Well, we are flying into a frigid. Actually, our first stop is going to be in Tennessee, which would also be very frozen there. We are going to be flying into Myrtle Beach Thursday at around 3.30. The weather forecast is awfully chilly. We're looking at probably around 40, 42, something like that for highs, sub 30, lows Very chilly, chilly. Yeah, it's definitely going to be frost delay weather. So I'm not trying to get too excited, but I kind of feel like we're going to have frost delay weather. I'm not trying to get too excited, but I kind of feel like we're going to have some frost delays. We're committed and we're going to golf when we can. We're going to have a great time. We've got some good courses lined up. We're playing True Blue, caledonia, tpc, myrtle Beach, prestwick and Muni in.

Speaker 1:

Charleston West, charleston Muni or something like that it's called.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, just Charleston Muni. Charleston Muni, which I originally thought was a Seth Rainer design, but Joe actually sent a fried egg.

Speaker 1:

I saw that.

Speaker 2:

It's inspired but nonetheless, me driving by the course and just seeing pictures of it, I'm still stoked as fuck to play it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, it looks amazing yeah we're also going to get to see. Uh, we're going to get to see the legend tyler woods and, uh, blind squirrel is coming down from charlotte, north carolina, to play with us. Excited to see jameson. Well, so you guys are doing 36, 36 a day for three days or two days. It's probably going to be like more, like 30, 32.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 27. No, that's the high, joe, that's the high.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's the high.

Speaker 5:

Hopefully there's no frost One whole federal degree. Yeah, we're looking at lows below 29. So I think there's going to be some frost, but I'm packed up, I'm already packed. I got everything packed up. I'm ready to go.

Speaker 1:

Is this the first trip with the new travel bag? No, no. Did you take that to band?

Speaker 2:

Oh no, he didn't take us to New York. Oh yeah, you did Did you.

Speaker 1:

You did take him to.

Speaker 2:

New York? Okay, I couldn't remember. He's got Bethpage dirt on that bag.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

I'm going to spread it around for good luck. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

Hey, you guys heard he went to Bethpage right A hard case with all the bumper stickers from where you've been on your golf travel box oh man, like shut up everybody that does that.

Speaker 5:

But I just can't do that, you know, I just can't do a hard case just like I can't do anything, so I do not need a hard case can't do mallet covers, can't do staff bags, can't have my name on my bag, can't have a hard case. I'm a fucking stop, but it's okay, you know so bougie yeah so I think it's I think that's the opposite of bougie, honestly now you're. You're snobby bougie no, I'm, I'm content he's so bougie, so bougie okay.

Speaker 1:

So, uh, golf we played, uh, so you got. Hey, honestly, I swear I hope the weather turns around and something happens and you get great weather, because nothing worse than flying across the country to have shit weather. Well, first we have to wait.

Speaker 5:

We have to get on the airplane and have it take us to our destination. That's the main concern currently, because we're going no matter what. But yeah, the Winter Storm Cora, I believe her name is, might fuck us a little bit.

Speaker 1:

We'll see you next Tuesday.

Speaker 5:

Storm, we're your friend Cora, Let us go.

Speaker 1:

All all right. So last couple things. Jeremy, you gonna play any golf in scottsdale?

Speaker 4:

um, it's, it's for joy's birthday, so I might throw him in. I don't know if I'll get out, but I do want to go over to the true and, uh, new level place.

Speaker 1:

So I'm gonna message dave and see go see doc and right around the corner from them is putting world oh, that's right.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, so go go take the boys to putting world, you'll have a blast yes, and that that in and out that's right in front of putting world is the best in and out I've ever ate at.

Speaker 4:

Really no doubt about it okay, I'll try it out then. I've actually never been to Scottsdale.

Speaker 1:

Oh no.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, when Dan and I went we didn't go to Scottsdale, but I heard there's some cool old town and a bunch of cool stuff to see. Scottsdale is sick. It's very bougie is the word Affluent, affluent.

Speaker 1:

There's a lot of money in Scottsdale.

Speaker 4:

A lot of money.

Speaker 1:

money, yeah, we'll see if I play golf, hey, you could take you could take.

Speaker 5:

Uh, you guys, you guys could go to the putt shack. That's a good little mini golf like there's so many indoors. It's a good spot. It's.

Speaker 1:

It's fun, it's really there's a pop stroke there. That's a different layout.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, pop stroke here that's just take the place that's down national, he'd be all right. Come on, yeah, we could buy. Yeah, we play phd we do things different.

Speaker 1:

Uh, all right, uh, let's see. So we played some golf out at revere, uh, joe, uh, dan, myself and cliff. Uh, a little windy to start, but it turned out okay, let's see. So we played some golf out at Revere, joe, dan myself and Cliff. It was a little windy to start, but it turned out okay. Course Concord pretty good in shape. Still, dan and I we played it. Was it a couple weeks ago or no? When did we play Concord?

Speaker 2:

We played it like two months ago, I think.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's when it was Before the surgery, so yeah, uh still I'm still getting back into golf mode.

Speaker 1:

Uh, I'm working on a couple things. Uh, mr tim flote that was in here earlier, um, I'm actually going to start working with him. Austin is just too busy for my high demanding needs. Uh, so, tim, uh who? He is posting blogs weekly on 1440.com. Uh, that's the new website, 1440golfcom. I'll transition into that after we talk about revere. Um, joe, you, you haven't been on the court in a while. I know you don't like playing the court, you much rather play legs and tim, what do you think? Uh?

Speaker 5:

yeah, it was. It was fun. It was good to get out there. I got I posted that video of you hitting your t-shot on what was that number? Four, five, four. They were like hope you didn't pay for that to play that golf course oh, it's like nasty comments about a t-box.

Speaker 4:

It's like nobody's ever seen a dormant dry t-box before like they only ever play lush green it was, it was dirt, it was dirt it was dirt uh

Speaker 1:

for a solid fucking dirt might as well tee it off, yeah exactly and that that spot hardly gets sun in the winter, um, with the clouds and and the sun being so low, and it's hard and it's god forbid if it's cold. That ground is concrete yeah.

Speaker 5:

A lot of people said I, I never saw those conditions when I played revere. Ever, um, I would never pay for that is what people were saying.

Speaker 1:

Wow, yeah damn jesus, it wasn't every t-box, it was one. Yeah, so I had to jesus.

Speaker 5:

I had some messages. I had to defend revere did you hear that tice?

Speaker 1:

tice was on ig. I don't know if he's still on there, but yeah, I, I had.

Speaker 5:

I did some defending, um you know, the rest of the course was good.

Speaker 1:

Um, imagine getting the fifth, the fourth t box and going fuck this place with this dirt box. Yeah, why did I pay what?

Speaker 5:

yeah, people said why did you pay for that? Did you pay for that? How much did you pay for that?

Speaker 1:

so uh, yeah, I'm gonna have to go in those comments. I didn't even get into that. You're gonna have to whip out the yeah, it was message.

Speaker 5:

It was messages, but um jesus yeah I dude, we're in fucking December and January in Las Vegas. It's not. You know, it's cold, it's fucking cold. It's hard to grow anything in Vegas this time of year, so chill out, chill.

Speaker 1:

Good Lord.

Speaker 5:

Chill.

Speaker 4:

Chill out.

Speaker 2:

How were?

Speaker 5:

the greens.

Speaker 4:

Greens were good, were good, good I, they weren't as beat up as lexington.

Speaker 1:

So lexington is definitely getting more play, in my opinion. Um, I think some of the greens there are a little bit more challenging to hit than, uh, some of the ones on lex, so that you know, like uh nine was like flawless 17 was, don't think a person hit that green except dan all day uh um so you know it is what it is, but I, you know, I thought it was in, I thought it was in really good shape for january in vegas here's the thing I'll say is like we got to play golf in January in Las Vegas.

Speaker 5:

It most of the country. You're not going to be able to play golf in January anywhere else.

Speaker 1:

So I mean I had, I had a, a base, a base layer on a polo and a hoodie and I had the hoodie off by the fourth, fifth hole. I mean it was, it was gorgeous out.

Speaker 5:

It was cold in the morning but, yeah, it turned out to be a really good day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it wasn't as cold as national was. That was cold that was pretty cold uh, all right. So last thing, get to um. I'll talk about this a little bit in case anybody is not aware.

Speaker 5:

Um, I was in a connection, that's opening a gas station and you're going to be able to buy golf balls out the gas station.

Speaker 1:

1440 golf, gas, gas, golf. Where did gas come from that?

Speaker 5:

76 because it's orange. You just put up orange, oh well, that's just the Stanley cup.

Speaker 1:

I just I was more referring to the, to the sticker on the Stanley cup. Uh, no, I I wanted If you Google, if you go to Google and type in the breakfast ball, yes, it comes up first, but then there's like 40 other things that are golf related and stories and stuff that have nothing to do with me, and I was just getting fed up with it. I went into this on a podcast episode a couple weeks ago, wasn't sure what to do with it, and so I came up with 1440, and 1440 is how many minutes there are in a day. There's so many, you know, with golf blowing up and so many people coming on to the social media side of things, it it's challenging to find a golf name that you can relate to, and so I one day I was sitting there just punching up different ideas and doing research on it and the thought of you know me thinking about golf all day long. I was like man, well, how many minutes are there in a day? So I researched that and that's that's where 1440 comes from. So I'm having a little fun with the play on the words 14, the number 40, blah, blah, blah. So I transferred over the breakfast ball website. It is now 1440 golf.

Speaker 1:

I changed my Instagram handle that's gone from the breakfast ball to this. I have stopped posting on my so-called golf life. That is going away. So all my golf content other than Vegas golf network and the podcast is going to be on 1440 golf and, uh, I'm pretty excited about it.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of rejuvenated me a little bit, um, to get back into doing some of the things that I've always enjoyed doing and sharing. Um, so that's've always enjoyed doing and sharing. So that's what that is. A lot of people have been sending me comments going what the hell is going on. So it's nothing crazy, just a rebranding, and you know the Breakfast Ball has been around since 2009. So it's had a good run. I try to mix it up a little bit with just posting my personal stuff on my soul called golf life Didn't really resonate with people the way I was hoping it would. So, okay, bye-bye, and you know I'll just put everything in one spot. So once one stop shop for me with golf content going forward and it was stressful. It's hard to let something go that you've had, you know, be a part of your life for so long um go ahead I will say when.

Speaker 5:

When I, when I opened up instagram that day and I saw 1440 golf, I was like who the fuck is this? I've never followed this account in my life I've never followed the who's this. I have no I I have no idea who this is, but when we were playing revere, dan asked me um. He was like why do you think he did it? I was like, yeah, it's because there are so many imitators with the breakfast ball and you, you work.

Speaker 5:

So hard, you work so hard to um copyright the breakfast ball and you know you can't protect it fully because of so many factors and um I knew that was why, because you know we had it for so long, so it was just it was new chapter, you know it was.

Speaker 1:

It was uh, a little stressful. Um, I lost all my email and uh, that was freak panic mode. Um, I get, I get a lot of emails at the breakfast ball my email address and uh, I was like freaking out like, oh shit, what did I? Did I miss uh. So that was a stressful you know hour and a half where I was trying to get it all figured out and transferred over, but it's all, it's all working now. Um, but you would. You would be amazed at how many people send me stuff thinking I am somebody that I am not because of the breakfast ball.

Speaker 1:

So it was it was time to let it go, and all those people can now search somewhere else.

Speaker 5:

And leave me the hell alone research us copyright laws and that's all you gotta know.

Speaker 1:

Dude, it's ridiculous and then I got the. I got the renewal for the trademark and I was like y'all are crazy if you think I 1440, you think I'm gonna pay you that much money and have zero protection. Zero protection and I mean it's kudos to uh trademark attorneys and people who have the money to fight for their intellectual property, because, dude, it ain't worth it. In my opinion, it is fucking ridiculous what you have to go through and the hoops you have to jump through and the amount of money you have to pay just to say they can't do that legally.

Speaker 5:

Well, they added an S, so they can't yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's ridiculous, yeah, ridiculous ridiculous. We get it. That's all it takes. Drop the, the, and then you're good to go add an s, you're good to go put a hyphen, good to go, it's, it's stupid. Anyways, all right, rant over. So everybody, please, if you have not, or you were and you're no longer 1440 golf, it's 14, spelled out. It's on my screen, on the screen, you can see it right there. That's the, uh, the website, the instagram, uh, facebook and uh, what's it called an x.

Speaker 1:

yeah, so um, and then I'll slowly convert to the youtube channel, because I do plan on posting some more stuff over there. Last order of business. I said that before, but sorry. The VGN season is underway. Our first event is February 22nd. That's going to be here before you know it. So if you are thinking about joining the Vegas Golf Network and you haven't decided if you're going to do it or not, hit me up. Find out what's. Do you have any questions? Let me know how we can convert you over and get you out playing with us. We've got some new members that have already signed up for this upcoming season. Looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces out at Siena on February 22nd, and I'm going to be out at the Las Vegas Golf Superstore doing a Callaway event this Saturday. So if you're in the area and you have some questions about that, come talk to me about that. I'll be there and you know, while you're there, come check out the new elite line from Callaway, because it's really good. Just ask.

Speaker 4:

Fairway was like amazing, Amazing man.

Speaker 1:

I can't. I can't wait to see that titanium. Oh, my goodness, I am, because I'm still playing my tailor-made original sim. Titanium. Joe is too, and uh, that club is so good. I, I can't. And the fact that they're doing into three and a five and a high launch three how does the company man feel about the new TaylorMade driver?

Speaker 5:

Looks pretty good to me.

Speaker 1:

It looks really good. I mean, you know me, I play TaylorMade, I play the Sim and the Stealth. They make great clubs. It's all personal preference. I will tell you, I do not like the gloss black on the triple diamond. I think they made a huge mistake with that. The matte carbon on the other ones is stunning. It's gorgeous and it looks so good. I'm willing to bet you're going to see a lot of the tour guys that are playing triple diamonds that are going to have that, uh, that matte top just because it's it looks so much better, so much better but we'll see, hey.

Speaker 5:

Hey, I'd like to take a quick minute because I forgot to do this last week, but I want to give a huge shout out to uh beyond golf tours at beyond golf tours on instagram. Uh, if you're looking to book a golf trip, go follow them. It's at Beyond Golf Tours on Instagram. They are putting together incredible packages. We're trying to go to Sand Valley in 2026 in the summer and they may be able to help us out or you out. If you're trying to put together a golf trip, go check out Beyond Golf Tours. The homie Mike over at Beautiful Golf Courses plugged us in with him and his team and, yeah, they know what they're doing, so go check them out at Beyond Golf Tours.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, when we go to Sand Valley, we're definitely going to be using them and they they have some canada trips as well, so they have some new zealand packages too, so wow, yeah they've got some major international stuff.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, probably beyond golf tour. Shrimp on the ball book yourself.

Speaker 5:

Go book yourself a legendary trip yeah, they, you know, and it's, they're creating memories and you know I'm all about that shit yeah great, great moments, great moments if if anybody is wondering what happened to our beautiful golf courses.

Speaker 1:

Chasing daylight podcast, fantasy golf league to win money to use towards golf trips and the beautiful golf course auction. Yeah, we had four. We had five people sign up and, uh, four of them are on this screen.

Speaker 1:

So or six sorry, we had six and four on the screen right now. So, uh yeah, gave those other guys their money back and said maybe we'll try again next year. So we'll. We'll see what happens. We got to come up with something. I thought that was a great idea, but apparently nobody gives a shit about fantasy golf or an epic golf trip for 50 bucks so hey, are you are?

Speaker 5:

is mike coming this? Are you playing with him this week?

Speaker 1:

no, no, he he uh, um, I told him he goes. Yeah, they, they really didn't want to do anything for me this week and I said well, you know, it is just the largest trade show in the history of planet earth. Going on in town right now may have a little bit to do with it, he's like yeah, you're right, so he's gonna. He's gonna look at his schedule and see a better time to come out. So, yeah, because I was gonna leave and he wants all of us to get out.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I was gonna leave you a beanie to give him, because I'm supposed to ship them one oh, I was excited and playing back-to-back days in the week, so anything else, yeah, I got my.

Speaker 1:

I got my new la golf shafts today for the, the ai 200s. Excited about that. Oh, another tech news did you get?

Speaker 4:

all which irons did you get in?

Speaker 1:

the new ones did you get the whole set, or, uh, just five, uh uh, six, seven, eight, nine pitching wedge okay yeah.

Speaker 1:

So I pulled the five iron for the five hybrid and I have no business hitting a four iron. So I haven't had a four iron in years, wow. So. So yeah, I'm, uh, I'm excited about those. I'm going to build those tomorrow morning and, uh, just going on the the new, the new stuff is coming out. Uh, it'll be out in store. You can, you can pre-order. Now I think the 17th is the day that they're shipping Um, and telling you buy those fairway woods while you can, because as soon as everybody finds out how good they are, they will not be available. That's all I got, yeah.

Speaker 5:

I need a new one, so I have to grab one.

Speaker 1:

Going to have to grab one.

Speaker 4:

Dan, how's all your new clubs? How'd they fruit run at revere?

Speaker 2:

actually played pretty well I had it to.

Speaker 5:

I had it to 500 at one point um as soon as he said something, and then he fucking as I mentioned that I was back to even by the, by the time the round was over.

Speaker 2:

But but do you?

Speaker 1:

know, what he did. Do you know what he did? Jeremy played the wilson ball that's right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the wilson ball, the whole round it's good ball, man like it yeah, it's, yeah, I do like it he had a massive 240 yard drive on number two and I I did.

Speaker 1:

I thought for sure, the next hole, you were going to have a Titleist on the tee.

Speaker 2:

Does it?

Speaker 4:

feel super spinny.

Speaker 2:

You were just smashed? No, not at all. It doesn't feel super spinny at all. It was just really that hole was just into the wind and it was gusting. But you know, I also popped it like 360 later that day A couple times.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what did you have in on 11, didn't you have like I had?

Speaker 2:

118. And what? Yeah, yeah, 118, wow, wow, that was a bomb I think I had 97 in on that one no, I'm kidding he did that was no, that was third shot ah, good stuff.

Speaker 1:

Uh, hey, everybody, thank you so much for tuning in. Uh, we really appreciate it. Um, yeah, that's all I got. Joe, you want to close it?
