Speaker 2:

Why don't you turn the lights down low?

Speaker 3:

Put that red light in, put the red light on.

Speaker 2:

Throw them pennies over that lamp.

Speaker 3:

This is the Latest man. Oh, there it comes.

Speaker 2:

Oh shit, oh there comes a oh we're getting all hot sweaty I live.

Speaker 3:

I live on a boat, I live on a boat what was the ladies man's name the

Speaker 2:

ladies remember the ladies man, you remember that movie. Oh, the ladies man's name is yeah, leon, it's like leon yeah I'm the ladies man, the ladies man dude, that movie was great all right, so maybe not the typical intro you guys he lived on a boat uh, welcome everybody to another episode of the chasing daylight podcast, bringing it a little bit different.

Speaker 2:

We're still loving the feeding the ducks. Uh, thank you, stream song for that. And thank you everybody, uh, for tuning in to us. We are live on instagram, we are live on x and we are live on youtube. So if you want to tune in live and join us this evening, that is where you can do it. Youtube and Sweaty made me laugh. Youtube and X. If you leave a comment on the feed, we can share it here on the screen and share those with everybody else. Instagram unfortunately, we can't do that yet. Don't know why, but it's probably something with Share those with everybody else instagram.

Speaker 2:

Unfortunately, we can't do that yet.

Speaker 4:

Don't know why, but it's probably something with uh everybody else instagram oh, a little feedback yeah

Speaker 2:

uh so yeah, uh, come hang out with us. Uh, you can see I got scrolling across the bottom. We want your tgl takes uh three weeks in. Everybody knows what the product is right now. We'll be talking about that here in a little bit. Jo, joe and Dan completely forgot about it tonight. Jeremy's got I'm sure he's got a really good excuse.

Speaker 4:

I watched all of it. I actually did.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you did.

Speaker 1:

Hey, nice, yeah, jay, all right.

Speaker 2:

Coming to the show prepared I love it.

Speaker 3:

Becoming a fan. Becoming a fan.

Speaker 2:

I don't know about that. I, yeah, we'll talk about that. Yeah, so the amex took place down in palm springs. Uh, dan's buddy, kyle mendoza, had a good day, a bad day and a not great day, so, uh, at least he got some pga tour experience out there with the big boys. Uh, star of the show the bunker on 16.

Speaker 2:

I mean, as always I mean, I think this year it was even more profound. They were like so many people struggling with it, so but yeah, it's a highlight of the course. The island green you think would take more precedent, but nope, it's a 17 foot, 17 foot deep bunker, greenside bunker, that was started to show they're uh gonna give a little love to our friend jeff marsh. Uh, his golf is art.

Speaker 3:

Volume two, second edition, is out, holy mary that is a little thicker than I thought it was dude it, it, this thing has so much.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to give too much away because you know, but it is just gotta order it nothing wow fabulous photos and stories. Uh, I've gone through and looked at all the pictures a couple times. Now I'm gonna start reading it so, because the read a couple passages and it's really really good stuff.

Speaker 3:

So hey, one of the greatest golf photographers currently like maybe of our time, like jeff marsh, is a phenom. He he captures incredible moments. I mean, some of the things he catches with his lens is incredible. But yeah, as I'm flipping the t, flip in, and just how he catches it.

Speaker 2:

I mean he, he's a, he's a master, so shout out marsh, highly, highly talented uh, dan jeremy, myself, trey, had a windy day out of boulder creek. Uh, we can chat about that if you want to uh test it.

Speaker 3:

A bunch of new gear from callaway on sunday yeah, right there little jeff marsh for you yep um mac bandon I was supposed to get another piece in the mail today.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if you guys follow the account sometimes drawss. It's a lady that does art.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, so you won that.

Speaker 2:

No no.

Speaker 3:

Oh, you ordered? Yeah, no, she did a giveaway.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, she's doing giveaways once a week. I think she's going to start doing them, but some really cool hand-drawn art and she got a print machine, so she's printing her artwork and you can buy prints print machine, so she's printing her uh artwork and you can buy prints and uh, and what a fucking fantastic name for a golf. Illustrator sometimes draws double, a little double entendre there, genius genius, what a name, what a name um, so that was supposed to be here today, but I'll have it.

Speaker 2:

I'll show everybody that next week, uh. And then, like I said, we tested a bunch of new gear but didn't exactly have the best weather to see how everything was, uh. And then the pga show is taking place, uh, starting well when people hear this tomorrow on the podcast today for you live folks, it starts tomorrow down in orlando. So if you follow any of the manufacturers or any of the golf uh media people, your feed's going to be unindated with updates from the pga show. Roars is down there or up there from miami, so he's been giving me some.

Speaker 2:

He's on the ground yep, he's on the grounds. Uh, joe from lofty, he's there. He got there today, um I've larson is there uh so many guys there.

Speaker 3:

I mean it's. It's where you gotta be if you're in golf.

Speaker 2:

That's where you gotta be this week and we'll you know if, if I don't know if it'll interfere. I don't know if it'll interfere with your birthday bash trip that you guys always do, but we may be able to.

Speaker 3:

We can double-decker it, we can make it like a Taco Bell taco and put some beans on the fucking shell and throw a flower tortilla around it.

Speaker 2:

But I think everybody would have so much fun there because it is just nothing but people and golf stuff. I've gone twice. I wouldn't hesitate to go back so much fun. Part nine go play winter park nine hit upstream song.

Speaker 2:

There's so many other good golf courses in that area, of course, and uh, yeah, it's, it's a blast, so hopefully. I mean the weather was kind of shitty today out there for the demo day, 55 degrees in orlando is never fun, but uh, you know, the event being inside the next couple days, everybody should be packed in.

Speaker 2:

Normally what happens is the morning rush comes, everybody bounces in the afternoon and goes plays golf yeah, I don't don't know, as if a lot of people are going to be doing that, they're probably going to be a busy show floor for the next couple days. So, and golf channel always does live from the pga merchandise show, so if you're curious to all the new stuff they have, the only thing that sucks about them doing it is they don't show the smaller brands never, never, I mean, occasionally they do occasionally they have a little highlight, but, like you know, that's that's why I'd want to go is to see the smaller brands.

Speaker 3:

CourseMaps is there. Coursemaps is up there, right there.

Speaker 2:

So many good vendors. So many good vendors yeah, all right. So what do you guys want to get into first? What do you want to talk about? Give it to me.

Speaker 3:

Feeding the ducks, kidding.

Speaker 2:

We can do that. Feeding the ducks okay, we can do that. This is so, joe, yeah dude, that's vibes. Man, that's vibes, for sure I need to just find that, whomever created that and, like, give me 60 minutes of that, you know just play in the background the old podcast well, I'd be like what'd you do? All day I was feeding the ducks yeah, I just said I lost myself.

Speaker 3:

I lost myself feeding the dogs. I was just like I haven't all day. I was cooking bacon, just like this cooking bacon.

Speaker 2:

I flipped some eggs. I was like you know, I make coffee like this. I flipped some eggs.

Speaker 3:

I was like.

Speaker 2:

You know, I make coffee like this Took you six hours to do the dishes.

Speaker 3:

Taking swings like this.

Speaker 2:

Smooth.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's going to be my new mantra on the T-Box.

Speaker 2:

Just feeding the ducks.

Speaker 3:

I mean, if you're trying to like get the feels down, you're in that slow motion kind of thing like we've got to stick the positions that could be a good song, just do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. Yeah, feed the ducks.

Speaker 2:

All right, Jeremy TGL, We'll start there. Yeah, so I haven't watched it live.

Speaker 4:

I haven't watched it live yet. I usually let it record on youtube tv so I can go through and skip all the commercials. So I can get it done in about 45 minutes to an hour. But, um, it's pretty boring to me. The thing that is crazy is the technology. I think that's the really the best part. I mean, some of the guys have good personalities for this, but, like Patrick Cantlay, oh yeah. He's like the opposite of what they need, but he's a great golfer and he plays well.

Speaker 2:

And they tried, they tried to get him to interact.

Speaker 4:

They were like poking.

Speaker 2:

Like come on, say something they should just hire me.

Speaker 3:

I would have told them like he's not going to give you anything guys, nothing you know like and joe hates his face for years. I've been saying this for years yeah, he's not going to give you anything.

Speaker 2:

It's not going to be competitive tonight at least no no, it was another blowout, yeah we've had three blowouts it's four, nothing, uh, a lot of. Not one hammer was thrown, I don't think.

Speaker 3:

Really, what were the teams?

Speaker 2:

Atlanta and New York. So Ricky Fowler again with Matty Fitz. Who else is on that team? Xander.

Speaker 3:

Xander right.

Speaker 2:

No, Xander's hurt cameron young oh cam young, yeah, cam young, that's who it was. And then uh oh yeah, I can't, I yeah then it was uh, jt cantley and billy ho, which jt and billy ho were great yeah, I could say yeah they were they are fantastic. They like, they get it, they get it, they get it. I was really happy with them.

Speaker 3:

I think on the other team, the only person that somewhat gets it is Ricky Fitz probably doesn't get it at all, and Cam Young. He is just Cam hit ball. Oh yeah, he's like pound it. He's not like Cam hit ball. Dude, Cam hit ball. You can hammer the ball. Though he's like pound it, you know he's not like.

Speaker 4:

Dude you can hammer the ball, though it's crazy, like the sound it makes in there.

Speaker 3:

Wow, I do think JT's team versus Tiger's team will be good.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm hoping, with Keegan and Rory next week, that it will be a good show, because it's I'm pretty sure it's Tiger's team against Keegan and Rory next week. That it will be a good, good show, cause it's it's I'm pretty sure it's Tiger's team against Keegan and Rory's team, the Boston commons or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It passes any tampons on anybody in this yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

It was, it was good, I mean part of that like I was saying, the technology is the best part. It's really incredible what they've done. I do think there was some shots and this probably happened on the other two events as well but the shots just don't. They don't fly how they probably should. There was a couple that they hit that they were pretty shocked that it was 100 yards short, or it hooked, just like how.

Speaker 3:

I am. I think that's great. I think that's awesome, though. I love that. I mean it is they're like disappointed with how it came out but is it real though?

Speaker 2:

because, like a lot of people, a lot of people are saying yeah, that's the thing everybody needs to get over is. This is not real golf no, no, no, no, but no, it's not real golf, but it's inconsistent inconsistent, isonsistent is the thing.

Speaker 3:

And that's what you're going to face if you go play indoor golf anywhere For anybody, you're going to face that and that's why I think makes it great is because they're like no, I fucking I mean I've seen Dan do it many a times- I didn't do it all the time For Bob.

Speaker 2:

I didn't fucking it all the time For Bob.

Speaker 3:

I didn't fucking hit it like that. I didn't hit it like that and I love that, because I've played indoor golf, simulator golf, many times and I love seeing that because we're not the only ones and I think it makes us relate to them a little bit better.

Speaker 2:

And I love seeing that, but when you have the funding and the backing of Tiger Woods and ESPN, that doesn't matter. It does matter the funding and the backing of tiger woods and that doesn't matter.

Speaker 3:

It does matter. The technology should be accurate, yeah, but the whole thing is is to bring them to the consumer, and I think that's what it's doing. It's and that's why they need the banter. That's why that one week, when they threw the flag, that's something we would do on the golf course. I don't think this is golf. This is not golf. This is golf with your friends in a fun atmosphere, and it's entertaining. It's not supposed to be real golf. Everybody's like saying it's real golf. It's not.

Speaker 2:

This is no, I know, it's not real golf, I just I I still think you could have a level of accuracy at this level I mean, this is yeah you know you, you see.

Speaker 3:

But I love that shit. That's why I like it is because it's fucking fucks up, sometimes just like the shit when we go inside it fucks up and that's what I appreciate seeing personally, because I've hit many. I've hit shots on track man. I'm like I didn't fucking do that computer's wrong and I would love to see them be like I didn't hit it like that, the computer's wrong but tiger will never, do that tiger will never do that because he's sponsored by full swing.

Speaker 2:

So oh yeah, but a lot of people were saying last week that tiger woods with a wedge from 105 yards doesn't airmail the green that's the thing, it's different.

Speaker 3:

It's different. You have to adapt, just like putting when we. I mean, how long does it?

Speaker 4:

take you to adapt to the putting inside for yeah, yeah, that's the thing is, it's not adapting, though. It's like one shot was hit 100 yards shorter than it should have been and the other one wasn't like it was. It's not like he missed it that badly that he hit it that poorly, which, again, I get it. It's not real golf.

Speaker 2:

And these guys aren't going to adapt to indoor golf, they play on the PGA Tour. This is just walking around on a Tuesday night.

Speaker 3:

Maybe the simulators are not used to, they're not designed for the way it comes off of real grass. I don't. Maybe that's a thing I don't know yeah but, I mean it's still incredible.

Speaker 2:

It's amazing it doesn't look full, the grass does not look full well, I think the biggest problem that they're having right now is with chipping, because nobody cantley was the only person that I think I've seen hit a decent chip shot yeah, chipping is pretty tough ricky was like and it was so funny because they, they hyped up ricky's like this is his fifth time here. He's really getting used to it.

Speaker 4:

He's getting into a groove, he's really oh and he just blates it it's like it's incredible, though I'd be really curious how they do that change the green shape and the the slope and all that is just.

Speaker 3:

It's mind-boggling how they do it I'd be really if, like if they threw in foresight or trackman, how much that would change yeah, that'll never happen. You know that'll never happen, but like, maybe full swing's not there yet.

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 3:

The full swing launch monitors that I've been on. I've always thought that they were, yeah, but you've been on the overhead ones, right? Yeah, you've been on the overhead ones. Yeah, that's the thing. This is a radar from behind and, who knows, with a radar doesn't do well with fluorescent lights. Who knows if there's like fluorescent lights in there.

Speaker 2:

Like they should get all this money to build this place. It should be accurate.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

And it's also the first season.

Speaker 4:

Whoops Sorry.

Speaker 1:

No, no, no, First season. Yeah, there's going to be bugs.

Speaker 4:

Things are going to get way better as they go. I mean been trying to think about, like how the how it's supposed to be, it's a team thing, it's. I mean, yeah, I don't know what the plan is if they want to make it fit in with other major team sports, but I've been trying to think about it from a future standpoint, like how are they going to? How is this going to continue? How is it going to grow? How is it going to get bigger? More teams, more players make the arena bigger. I'm just trying to like imagine what that's going to get bigger. More teams, more players make the arena bigger. I'm just trying to like imagine what that's going to be like. But obviously first season there's bugs, it's they're building it from the ground up.

Speaker 3:

So yeah, it's not like that's the thing before. It's the first season, I mean they're gonna have to work it out. I mean they did get an extra year when the storm blew down the sofi center originally. But you know, after the first season of breaking bad, nobody knew that that would probably be one of the greatest shows ever created on tv.

Speaker 2:

So, um, it's possible I mean lost would be the worst ending tv show ever exactly.

Speaker 3:

I mean you. They're three weeks in. I enjoy the product. I love see them. I love seeing them be friendly and interact. I loved the flag throw. Shane Lowry, I think, was the one who was putting and he had to putt over the flagpole because it really didn't see that during the us open, you know, we get to see them being a little more human and we get to see them playing golf on things that we play on.

Speaker 2:

So I love the, the, uh, was it? Uh, ricky had a putt to tie the hole and he was just getting ready to stroke it and jt comes in the picture and times out. Call the time out, they ice them. I mean, that was it, was you could see that they were having fun. You know it out, they ice them. I mean, that was it was. You could see that they were. I love that stuff, you know it was fun, all right, I mean, you know what?

Speaker 3:

you know what the in the long run it doesn't mean anything to them.

Speaker 2:

They're just trying to have fun and they're trying to enjoy themselves and they're trying to build a brand, so like I love seeing them just enjoying their time for those of you listening uh, rob chapman said the important outcome of tgl tonight is that cantley can play faster than he does on an actual golf course oh yes, good call rob. Oh yeah, yes yes, somebody tweeted out earlier uh, week one tgl premieres. Week two tiger.

Speaker 3:

Week three cantley on the shot clock yeah, he should just be on the shot clock all the time yeah too funny.

Speaker 4:

I love it all right. Do you know if there's been like a like sort of like this is how we built it type of like information put out or videos or anything about? I know they showed the greens how there's all those like hydraulic lifts and, yeah, stuff underneath to adjust it, but have they shown like building the arena, that type of stuff? Have you seen anything about that?

Speaker 3:

they've done a few things on their instagram. Nothing like in depth. I mean. Hopefully there's a youtube one day like no, I know there's been some things with uh piece of golf, how he designed the golf courses in virtual. There's been explanations on what the course and the hydraulics actually do, how they built it. I don't know if there's anything in depth with that. There's a lot of behind the scenes on on things like that, like how the courses were designed, and you know all that oh, adam simpson chiming in.

Speaker 2:

Can we talk about how there should be a?

Speaker 3:

member for 25 or what?

Speaker 2:

yes, he is back let's go and we talk about how there should be a shot clock on the pga tour. They said this last weekend's final group was close to six hours. Yeah, it's folks. It's bad.

Speaker 2:

I think it's coming so it and you know what the slow play. It goes back to juniors and college golfers and Julian and I Julian Julian's listening to, by the way uh, when we were at summit, the BYU golf team was out there and they went out and played and we had, like, several members come back and come just practice because they were furious at how slow they were playing. And this one guy I mean he was, he was pissed. He's like I pay a lot of fucking money to play this golf course and these fucking kids come out here to play for free and are going to take up five and a half six hour round of golf. That's bullshit.

Speaker 2:

And he was like they spent 25 minutes on one goddamn green. Four kids, 25 minutes, one goddamn green. So slow play is an issue everywhere. We have a problem with slow play in the VGM. I mean it's not us, it's the course. You know. The course puts out people in front of us that we can't control how fast they play. And then you know we do have some guys that play slow and and we're working on that, but low play is an issue everywhere, everywhere yeah I get it, I just think it's just people are just way too concerned about it, you know they they're just trying too hard.

Speaker 3:

Maybe, if you just feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on down.

Speaker 2:

It's cool runnings time you know like they're, they're playing, you just go with the flow. You know like money I mean 1.2 million dollars, is I get? A lot of money you know, if you've got you got a putt for a million dollars and it's a 12 foot breaker are you just walking up and tapping it? Are you gonna look at that thing from both sides and you know well?

Speaker 3:

you're not gonna. You're not gonna tap it in, but if you take too much time it's gonna make you even more nervous over time, like some people. Pick your spot, commit to it like that's it. Once you find the point of commitment, commit to it and then that's it. I mean that's what you got to do Because you're trying to get to the commitment level. Once you get to that commitment level, fucking do it, send it.

Speaker 2:

I think a shot clock is going to be tough. I mean, they have a clock now that they don't enforce.

Speaker 3:

That's true. Yeah, you know. Well, Cantley would be on it, harmon would be on it, xander would be on it, he's slow. Yeah, he's getting there. Yeah, Boy, he's been hanging out with Cantley too long.

Speaker 2:

Lefty Brian Harmon. Good Lord yeah. With his wiggles.

Speaker 3:

I watched an entire episode of Reading rainbow before.

Speaker 2:

Can't let him hit his t-shot one time. Take a look, it's in a book.

Speaker 3:

Ah, I saw norm come through the door four times.

Speaker 2:

Cheers four times did so. Did everybody see the 13 that the guy made on? Yes, yeah, that was rough. Wow, I mean he kept his composure. That's the man 320 yard drive bomber pro shot. That just goes a little left. Can't get out of that bunker wild.

Speaker 4:

Have any of you guys played that course?

Speaker 2:

I have not.

Speaker 4:

Is that bunker as deep as the that hole on Paiute Wolf? That par 3?

Speaker 1:

you know that par 3 with that oh yeah, the one with the big fall off, yeah, if you're all the way at the bottom, yeah, it's all of that that's impossible it's crazy, it's possible, but I mean, they have more sand, get up there yeah, I know, but they have.

Speaker 4:

That was a freak accident that I got up there, but hold on.

Speaker 3:

So is that? So I feel like pi that bunker on pi it's probably deeper than the one at pga west. No, I'm not sure I know the one at PGA West?

Speaker 1:

No, I'm not sure I know the one at PGA West. What is it?

Speaker 2:

17 feet below the surface of the green 17 feet.

Speaker 1:

yeah, and Joe, you might be right. It's down there, dude.

Speaker 3:

It's down there. I feel like it's 20, 25, maybe.

Speaker 2:

And is it a bunker down there, or is it just desert?

Speaker 3:

It's like, I think it's desert sand just waste area, right?

Speaker 4:

yeah, yeah, cat, it's like cat litter yeah yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2:

Uh. So you put a shot clock on the walking scorekeeper with each group in advance, with an audible buzzer like the nba.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that'd be hilarious, yeah you know, what's crazy to me is like I know those guys are playing for a lot of money and all that shit, but if you think about it, they're either twosomes or threesomes. They hardly ever go out in foursomes. No yeah, the pace of play shouldn't be a fucking issue. There's three of the best players that actually play fucking golf in the world Like you, guys are the top 1%.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Get out there and fucking play in four hours or less. What Get out there?

Speaker 3:

and fucking play in four hours or less. What the fuck? Yeah, well, you know all I mean their rounds are five hours right Like minimum five hours.

Speaker 2:

Yeah easily, oh easily.

Speaker 1:

Easily easily.

Speaker 2:

They said, I saw.

Speaker 1:

I know they said there's something about six-hour rounds, but I also saw something that the last group played the first 11 holes in like three hours and 45 minutes Like minutes. Like that's fucking insane, crazy, that's bad 11 holes in almost four hours, that's that's unacceptable, yeah, it's.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Well, they gotta somebody has to come up and do something. Do something, say something, because it it's. It's leaking down into public golf and people are thinking that it's fine. I mean, look at those bozos we had in front of us yesterday. I mean good, yeah, those bozos and their bozos these clouds? Oh my god, joe, it was hilarious. There there was a guy in shorts which, first off, what the fuck it was. It was 40 degrees it was 40 degrees with 40 mile an hour winds. It was a cryotherapy.

Speaker 3:

Maybe, his legs hurt, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Cryotherapy Iceland, you know just it was maybe just stupid, and he's walking in the middle of the fairway no clubs, no, nothing, just like wandering. And what sucked for us is we're standing on the tee box waiting for this and so we're freezing because the wind is blowing, and we're standing still in the open just area.

Speaker 4:

No trees.

Speaker 2:

We're more cold than us, but yeah well yeah, and so then the guy he's riding with hits and then he drives up to him and the guy gets a club and then he goes on another walkabout and pops his shot and then doesn't get in the cart and walks up to his ball again while the other guy is going the other way.

Speaker 3:

I mean, it was a shit show it sounds like he's just a bad golfer and maybe he should just pick up and drop by his buddy occasionally. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It was not.

Speaker 3:

That's the thing, bro. There's too much ego in the game. There's way too much ego in the game. You know, like if I I'm not and I am sympathetic to those behind me, you know. So it's like if I top a shot into the water, hey, you want another one? Sometimes I will, maybe if I'm feeling it. If not, I'm like I'm just gonna drop by you who bombed your drive, because my score really doesn't matter. At the end of the day, we're not in the vgn tournament, we're not like playing for any money. So just fucking go, dude, because there's people behind you not trying to hold you up and make your experience worse. You know, I'm trying to provide the people behind me with a good experience as well, as I would hope the people in front of us are trying to look after me, because that's all it is. It's. You know it's it's. We're going through McDonald's drive-thru and I'm paying for your cheeseburger. If you're behind me, that's the kind of shit we're talking about.

Speaker 2:

So the people in front of us on the par three, the eighth hole on on hawk, uh, trey hits it in the bunker but the guys that were playing in front of us were in that bunker and he climbs out. He doesn't go like on the low point and enters the bunker at the low point. No, he climbs up the face in front of the green right, doesn't rake the bunker. So we're sitting there going nice rake job, asshole, you know. And then trey hits his shot and the wind catches it, it goes left and it goesake the bunker. So we're sitting there going nice rake job, asshole. And then Trey hits his shot and the wing catches it and it goes left and it goes in the bunker. We get up there. Yeah, it's in one of the footprints.

Speaker 3:

It's like that he just left.

Speaker 2:

That's funny. Yeah, Golfo on Instagram said the coaches of these players need to get on them. Yes, yes, they do. I don't understand how these college coaches aren't just like losing their mind, like we should not be out here this long. We're playing. We are playing the summit. It's a pristine golf course in pristine conditions. It was a beautiful day. There's no way You're not practicing a tournament, just go play the golf course.

Speaker 3:

Well, that's the thing I mean. The thing that those kids don't realize is maybe they'll never be welcomed back because the members are the ones that play for that, pay for that golf course. And they were holding up the members who whoever invited them.

Speaker 3:

Whoever invited them, I'm sure talking to and that's where you need to have some foresight in golf and you need to realize you never know who's behind you. It could be fucking whoever it is behind you. You don't know who's behind you. You don't know who you're holding up to get to in a meeting or to pick up their kids from school and they might be pissed and they might have some say in the golf course. You know like or know somebody and it's like fucking, just play golf. You don't have to take too much time. Pick your shit, commit to it and hit it. Find ball, hit ball, that's what it is all right.

Speaker 3:

So, uh, sep strokka ended up winning the tournament, so congrats to him he found ball, hit ball the best he found ball, hit he found ball hit ball best, very, very, very good.

Speaker 2:

So, jeff Marsh, let's give Jeff Marsh some love. This is his IG account. It's Jeff K Marsh, you can check him out. We are eventually going to get him on the show and talk all about his escapades. I would love to just pick his mind about it. But, as I said at the top of the show, this is his new book Golf is Art, second edition. All the photographs in it are from him. That's one of his most famous photos.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's a great one.

Speaker 2:

And he has a breakdown in here of how that came to be. He talks about this when his friends turned 50, that came to be, he talks about this, uh, when his friends turned in 50 and they had this just incredible itinerary of golf oakland hills, acadia bluffs, crystal downs, kingsley club, acadia bluffs and then the michigan minnesota game, which is just, that's such, just amazing good lineup, you know, and then you've got the pictures of the game in there.

Speaker 2:

You know it's just great golf stories. If you're a golf fan of the game and you appreciate all the, you know stories that are out there from the LPGA to the PGA to golf course design. I mean look at, how cool is this.

Speaker 3:

I mean just a yeah, he's a mastermind man amazing photographs out of such valley.

Speaker 2:

Uh, he's got other stories. This is um all the he did the lido 2021 and 2024. Little comparison. Um, it's just so damn cool. And then, as I said earlier, Aaron Hills. He's got all the holes of Aaron Hills in here.

Speaker 2:

It's just absolutely spectacular. So go on to his Instagram account it's JeffKMarsh, check it out. You can buy the book on his website and, yeah, it's great he's got more of these coming and uh, look for him hopefully one day in the future on the show yeah, he's, uh, he's fantastic man and he's a really good dude. Chatted with anything too is is you can chat with him and he will chat with you.

Speaker 2:

He's not one of those guys that uh has ai, answering their emails, put view yeah, um, yeah, I mean he's plugged in with true.

Speaker 3:

I mean he was like he was plugged in with true years ago I think he caddied at chambers bay. He's a, he's a golfer's, golfer through and through and he understands. You know, with his career he doesn't get to play golf as much as he would like, but you know he truly appreciates the game fully. You know he is and he's got a hell of an eye.

Speaker 2:

He's got a hell of an eye. Yeah, full page, true ad. So yeah, did you? Did you see the new thing that true's doing with the? I did tour club what were your thoughts on that? Oh, crickets Joe.

Speaker 3:

I don't know. I mean there's value there for sure. I think there's 100% value there, but it's not something I want to or would commit to. I mean I love true, I mean I'm true through and through to the true, true, true. You know what I mean. So, but that's just something, not necessarily for me. Um, there might be others that are into that, but I just I'm not. I I hate the subscription stuff. I'm I'm like I try and stay as far away from subscription things that I as I can. You know, and you know I got, I want to see it, to believe it. You know I believe in it, but I haven't seen it.

Speaker 2:

So, um, but no, there's definitely value there for sure, 100% Like it's, I think it's I, it, it's a great deal they have three different levels that you can buy into this club and get access, early access to, to merchandise, um. So I mean, yeah, there is value there. And I mean, if you're gonna spend and if you're gonna drop five to a hundred bucks on true gear throughout the year, definitely something you should look at definitely something you should look at um. Jeremy got a. Uh was joined the boulder creek club for their uh players card and it was it was a great deal, I was.

Speaker 2:

I was like I should probably do that. You know it's a little bit easier for you to get there than me, but uh, it's. It's a pretty damn good deal. For how much was it? Do you remember what was it? $200.

Speaker 4:

Golf yesterday was what $70?. Yeah, you get a free round on your birthday, your birthday month, you get a free round.

Speaker 2:

Every seven rounds you play, you get an eighth free.

Speaker 4:

Your first round is free too. I didn't pay green fees yesterday.

Speaker 2:

Your first round is free. 15% off merchandise Disc discount on range balls um, it's a, it's a pretty, you know legit players card do you get discounted greens fees when you book?

Speaker 3:

yes, I think it's only six.

Speaker 4:

It'll only ever be like 60 bucks yeah yeah did you get that hoodie matt?

Speaker 3:

no, no, okay, that's a great deal the I want to like there's so many good deals out there for like players, clubs, like I don't have a golf course close to me or close enough to me where I want to commit to anything, and that's that's my hard thing is like I don't know where I'm playing next and it's hard for me to commit, but that's a great deal. The first time you play free round, birthday free round, that makes it pretty much worth it almost right there.

Speaker 2:

You know that's yeah, plus with the discount. You know you pay for three rounds of golf, it's paid for it, uh. And then the discount in the pro shop. I mean that's, that's. That's some legit stuff right there.

Speaker 3:

So yeah I have to do it. Might have to do it because now I mean the the circumference of places we play is getting further and further away. You know, because everything is so expensive in the city and it gets cheaper as you go out to the it's ridiculous. To the wall, if you will, to the silo.

Speaker 2:

I tried to get Peeler to join Matt Boyce says Packard, yeah, I tried to get Peeler to join matt boyce's packer, yeah, I tried to get peeler to join and and he, uh, he's like no, I'm just gonna join the piute.

Speaker 4:

So yeah yeah, piute's pricey though that makes sense, though I mean it's right there, oh he's he's close, it's right by his house. So I mean, if I lived out there I would do the same thing, you know yeah, the problem is with piute is even the members have a hard time booking tee times.

Speaker 2:

They can't they said that they were going to make Sundays available to them.

Speaker 3:

That's rough, it's too good out there. It's too good, it's too good.

Speaker 2:

We need more. We need more of it. Paiute, build three more golf courses.

Speaker 1:

Thank you.

Speaker 3:

They got the land.

Speaker 2:

Take all the.

Speaker 3:

Let's get a Tom Doak, a Strance and a King Collins out there.

Speaker 4:

I was just going to ask you who you would want.

Speaker 3:

Well, a Strance like reimagination.

Speaker 2:

I'd want Doak for sure. I would love to see what Doak would do with that.

Speaker 3:

Doak, a reimagination of strands, and then a King Collins let's get those. Paiute. Paiute Chief, let's go.

Speaker 2:

Let's go, man, that would be awesome To a Gil Hance strands.

Speaker 3:

Inspiration yeah, there you go, that works right there.

Speaker 4:

Paiute Dunes.

Speaker 2:

Paiute Dunes right, Desert Dunes right there that works dunes, desert, desert, dunes yeah, I like it.

Speaker 3:

Piute dunes in the works.

Speaker 2:

Three courses confirmed on the chasing daylight podcast coming soon the dunes at piute, at Paiute, the Barrancas at Paiute I would really love to see. I mean, everybody says it's horrible, but like where Bonnie Springs was in Red Rock in that valley, a golf course out there would be so freaking sick. I mean I know they'll never do it because it's protected land.

Speaker 4:

But I mean, yeah, the the views out there are incredible could you imagine playing golf out there?

Speaker 3:

oh, there's a lot of spots they could do it, but you know there's a lot of land out here we can't touch, so all right. I mean, I don't know if you I don't know if you saw uh josh gatson's post the other day. He went for a run. He lives out there, uh, near boulder city, but you know foothill high school. He went for a run and he posted some pictures and I was like I see a golf hole there. I see a golf there come on, let's get going.

Speaker 3:

They're more focused on closing them than building them, so by you chat.

Speaker 2:

my name name is just a horrible mistake to agree to play. Yeah, it was. We were feeling it out in Boulder City so I could only imagine what it was like out of Paiute. That had to be yeah that's the front line.

Speaker 3:

Paiute is the front line of the front. The wind hits you first. There North wind is the whole game.

Speaker 2:

Jeremy was hilarious. He had some Jameson. He's on the.

Speaker 4:

Jameson hour with Jeremy.

Speaker 2:

He had one on the front nine. He had one at the turn. He hit his tee ball on on 10. He gets out of the cart and he goes. Jameson is in the chat big jameson guy and then I started playing.

Speaker 2:

Started playing much better yeah, and then he gets on the t. He gets on the t of the second hole and hits and he goes hey, yeah, this is so good and looked at me it's like did he ride with you, but then you, so you sobered up relatively quickly. It was hilarious like you had like a five minute uh drunken window it was.

Speaker 3:

It was hilarious jeremy doesn't get drunk, he gets enlightened it's exactly.

Speaker 4:

I find myself doing zen garden sand bunker raking yeah, yeah, yeah it's.

Speaker 3:

You find yourself a little bit yeah the real me comes out.

Speaker 4:

Jeremy, this was your first round with the new new levels.

Speaker 4:

Yes, yes, yes yes, dude, let's, let's hear about him I was chatting with doc and I I think our conversation made it to Instagram. Dude, I love them, man. As you all know, I hit a lot of thin shots as my miss. I was shocked that they didn't lose any distance when I hit a thin one, which I hit some really bad ones yesterday. They're actually really forgiving. Looking down at them, it's great. They're not too small. You don't feel intimidated to hit it out of crazy lies.

Speaker 4:

Even trey was impressed, I think so he was yeah, I'm super happy with him, he, he questions a lot of my decisions, for sure, so mostly around mirrors. But uh, yeah, new level I would highly recommend. Um, I never tried anything of theirs before so I don't really have sort of a baseline of what their clubs are like, but they feel amazing. I would put them up there honestly. With how miras feel, wow for sure, but easier to hit, so very happy all right, so that's that, dan.

Speaker 2:

Uh you, I let you hit the triple diamond, three wood and the triple diamond driver yeah, what were your thoughts?

Speaker 1:

well, I wasn't swinging very good. Um, I was very cold and very stiff and could not really swing how I wanted to.

Speaker 2:

So I didn't really test stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't really have a whole lot of great things to say about the clubs only, but just because I couldn't physically swing them correctly the one, three, I had four, the three would four times and miss hit it terribly Three of the four. The one time I hit it good was on nine tee box and on the or 18 or nine of what was it desert hawk. That felt great and then I annihilated. I annihilated that one drive on the par five oh my god, you smashed that felt that one felt really good too.

Speaker 1:

So the elite driver is is nice, it's um. I really wish it wasn't gloss I do. Now that I've had some matte finishes and some carbon carbon crowns and stuff, I'm not a fan of the gloss anymore, but it feels great. Again, a lot of the people that bitching about the color. You don't even freaking see that unless you literally flip the club over. The club from a dress at a dress looks great. Even the gloss black, but with the matte finish.

Speaker 2:

It looks yeah it looks so good.

Speaker 1:

So, um, yeah, I'm I'm interested in uh hitting it some more and uh, hopefully uh get a three wood here soon. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I, I played the driver head, the elite um, because there's the elite elite x, the triple diamond and the max fast. So the elite elite. I played it yesterday. Just I. I cannot close the face with that club for whatever reason with my LAGP shaft.

Speaker 2:

There is a new shaft company. I'm terrible with the name of this. I have to look it up and figure out how to say it, but it's A-R-E-T-R-E-S Aretis. Maybe Julian can chime in and tell me how the hell to say it. But the gentleman that designed the Velocor for Fujikara left that company and started a new company and so this is basically like Aventus and we have them in our demos and it is a really good shaft. I was hitting it really well at summit. So the nice thing that Callaway is doing, it's a it's a Callaway only deal. If you buy a driver, it's a hundred dollars upcharge for that shaft, otherwise anywhere else it's going to be $350. So it's a nice deal if you, if you want to get a good custom shaft.

Speaker 2:

But I played my LAGP shaft and I just for some reason I cannot close the face. I was pushing everything out to the right, which is a little frustrating. The 3-wood I played the 3-wood, the high launch, the 3-wood high HL, the high launch, and I on the, the downhill par five, on the front at or not the front on Coyote Run, not the big dog, leg one, but the second one. I hit my ball way out to the right so I just dropped where Jeremy had hit his drive and we were 280 out and I hit it onto the green. I mean it bounced a couple of times and got there, but I smoked that and I was like like damn, that absolutely felt great, uh.

Speaker 2:

And then the next hole, going dead into the wind. I was 190 out and came up 30 yards short. So it was it's uh. The wind was messing with us big time yesterday. But the new stuff is really good. I hit the hybrid, the new hybrid, a couple times. It was amazing. And then I took out one of the new putters, uh, the 24. This is the same version that john rom is playing. It's a new mallet design uh off the square no, not square to square.

Speaker 2:

I can't do that. I've tried it's I just can't. I mean for some people it's great. I I cannot do it, just mm-mm. But that putter it was good. It rolls the ball really, really well. I would love to get my shaft on it to see what it feels like. But yeah, I'll be playing the Odyssey Blade this year.

Speaker 4:

That just feels so damn good For the rest of the year. Are you committing?

Speaker 2:

I don't have any plans to take it out. I mean, I may like do something like this, where I bring something out just to kink around with it, but I mean tournament rounds and everything.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I plan on playing the odyssey stevie jack said you need a, you need a lab. Oh god, you know, I don't need a lab yeah, I need a tattoo job.

Speaker 2:

You want to hire me as one of your artists?

Speaker 3:

As long as you tattoo lab on your arm, I do a mean mean Sharpie stencil.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, the new gear is good. We're going to be out at Red Rock and Rhodes Ranch this weekend. Julian and I are going to Lake Havasu. Tomorrow we have a putty putter event.

Speaker 3:

Putty, a little putty event.

Speaker 2:

A little putter event down at Havasu. We'll be down there demoing putters.

Speaker 1:

My dad lives out there.

Speaker 2:

Nice, you have to tell me a good food spot for us tomorrow. Oh, okay, because it's. It's not a short drive not a long drive but it's not a short drive yeah, but we lose an hour because of uh arizona so we gotta leave before the sun's up, so fun, fun stuff.

Speaker 3:

I'll be at the gym before the sun comes up.

Speaker 2:

Let's go no, we do.

Speaker 3:

You big gym guy now look at him be you know shout out daniel hodges, inspiring a crew of many to flip to a better diet and improve their lifestyle. Shout out to Anahogis Soaking up the yolk juice from undercooked hard-boiled eggs with a straw at the Muni in Charleston.

Speaker 1:

Yep, couldn't get the shells off the egg, so I just kind of ripped a hole in the egg and sucked it out.

Speaker 3:

He cracked it and it was like he was like what's going on here, spitting out shells, just getting the protein man you know too funny too funny yeah, we're all all doing stuff.

Speaker 2:

I, I'm doing stuff with Kenzie she's rocking it, dan's doing it, trey's doing it, joe's doing it. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

The.

Speaker 2:

Healthy Podcast 2025. You got to be man who knew we got to take care of ourselves.

Speaker 1:

You're not getting any younger.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, 40 is in. What, what is that? Four days away from me? Yeah, I Four days away from me. I've been waking up at like 5.30 to go to the gym in the morning, which is crazy Because the only time I wake up at 5.30 is to go play golf.

Speaker 2:

Not anymore. Yeah, you can make a detour and go into Better Buzz and try some of their coffee one day.

Speaker 3:

It's a little out of the way, but it ain't that far.

Speaker 2:

One of these days, yeah, All right. And then last PGA Show. We talked about it enough, I think, at the beginning, so we don't need to really go any further on that. Check your Instagram feeds, Check Golf Channel. I'm sure all your favorite brands that you follow on the socials will be posting about it. I'm seeing all the previews of the booths. Jeff Marsh is going to be at the True booth signing volumes of his book, which is awesome. All kinds of good stuff going on there. It's a party, so be safe, have fun out there and hopefully you get a little bit better weather. Do we got anything going on this?

Speaker 3:

weekend it's snowing in Pensacola it's wild, Yeahacola it's wild.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it snowed on Bird Street.

Speaker 2:

They were showing New Orleans so they just covered in snow, covered in snow.

Speaker 1:

At least we got to play a little bit of golf out there, Joe, before they got covered in snow.

Speaker 3:

It might have been worse if we went this week, so that's good, wild stuff, wild stuff.

Speaker 2:

So anybody got any plans this weekend?

Speaker 3:

Joe, wild stuff, wild stuff you get. So anybody got any plans this weekend? Joe, you do anything for your birthday? Uh, just yeah, just my birthday, uh, that you know I'm trying to play golf saturday or sunday, I don't know.

Speaker 2:

Nothing booked um. My friend trey was sorry, trey was talking about the scramble at legacy. Are you guys doing that?

Speaker 3:

oh yeah, I haven't heard about it scramble at legacy.

Speaker 4:

Are you guys doing that? Oh yeah, I haven't heard about it with rob.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, rob was trying trying to get people to go do it yeah, so I um my buddy, who I've known forever.

Speaker 3:

He's a good friend of mine. I actually kind of work with him also. He's throwing a party on a sat night, so I might go do that and join in on the festivities, because his birthday is the day after mine. And then Sunday, sunday, sunday I feel like I got something going on Sunday, but I can't remember. But yeah, I'm trying to play golf. I don't know if I'm going to yet, but hope so.

Speaker 2:

You might wait for a little bit warmer. It's supposed to be cold and rainy, but warmer this weekend.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I heard it's supposed to rain too. Yeah, sunday, monday.

Speaker 2:

Tuesday it's supposed to have wet weather. So I mean that would be nice to get some moisture in the valley.

Speaker 3:

I remember Sunday we're going to the Knights game. There you go.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, roars moisture in the valley, but I remember sunday we're going to the knights game.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, roars isn't coming for that, so yeah, I know, yeah, he, he was messaging me so, but we're still gonna whoop the panthers, you know.

Speaker 2:

So it's all good the boys are struggling right now, except that, you know that game that night they had back scored three goals in the third period to tie it and go to overtime and lose and shoot out. At least they got a point out of it. But, man, four out of five is not a good run right now.

Speaker 3:

Man, it is the season of Aquarius. It's time to be optimistic. We are going to win everything.

Speaker 2:

All right, I like it.

Speaker 1:

Season of Aquarius.

Speaker 2:

Is your, I like it. Season of Aquarius. Your sun and your moon are in the right spots.

Speaker 3:

Joe, no, I looked it up the other night because I was talking to somebody, because it was somebody else's birthday the other night. I can't remember Is the moon in Uranus. It was like their eternal optimist, which I'm an eternal optimist man there's always something around the corner for you, that's a VGK, something around the corner for you, so, and that's a vgk win against panthers, roars, panthers going down.

Speaker 2:

Let's go sunday hey look, joe, look at jeremy's background. He's got, he's got uh bitcoin mining.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, look at you, jeez, he's got the machine, my lights.

Speaker 4:

My lights keep flickering power you're like, were like powder shortage here.

Speaker 2:

I thought it was. Every time there's an increase, lights are going off.

Speaker 3:

Or are you in an internet cafe in Manila, Philippines? I'm in.

Speaker 4:

Manila guys.

Speaker 1:

Reporting live.

Speaker 2:

Golfo said the moon comet was awesome.

Speaker 3:

Show us your plate of poncit.

Speaker 4:

Poncit, you know I've been thinking about If you don't have anything else to cover. It's sort of the year of the Renaissance. Of Jeremy's golf bag I've got a of the renaissance of. Jeremy's golf bag. Oh yeah, I've got potentially another surprise coming from Texas. Did you get some?

Speaker 2:

artisan wedges.

Speaker 4:

No, it's a thing that I've, you guys all have, and I've never really been interested in trying it, bgt shaft. Because I finally found one that's all black. It's all black. There's no.

Speaker 1:

The one.

Speaker 4:

The one.

Speaker 3:

The second coming of Jeremy Martin.

Speaker 1:

It's nice when you label that thing down. It looks nice.

Speaker 2:

Heartbroken. It's nice when you label, when you label that thing down.

Speaker 1:

It looks nice heartbroken man, so it doesn't matter. Your driver looks good too mad at address with your la golf shaft in it. That thing labeled your driver is fucking 100 stealth bomber dude oh yeah, it's so yeah, yeah I think, it's pretty sick.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was telling trey on the first tee yesterday. I'm like you know, I never really tinkered with my clubs until I moved down here and I literally like played the same stuff for years and it's just, I used to be bad like the first couple years I I started hanging out with you guys, but now I'm like getting back into it. It's actually kind of exciting because I'm more open-minded now, yeah. So yeah, I'm not agnostic.

Speaker 1:

Not to mention like all these club accessories and custom shit. I mean it comes out so often now, like back then.

Speaker 4:

Yep, it's like once a year Once every two years.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, once every two years for something. Now it's like oh, here comes a Velocore shaft, oh, here comes a fujikura, you know tr. Oh here comes a hybrid. It's like, man, they make you know three different types of drivers every year, and I mean three. I talked about the putter shafts too.

Speaker 2:

In one of the fitter builder player episode there's so many putter shaft options.

Speaker 3:

Right yeah, that too yeah it's insane I think that's just.

Speaker 3:

That just says something for the state of golf. Like there is consumers out there, you know, ready to consume and the the brands are willing to put it out there. Or there's brands coming up out of nowhere like, uh, homegrown brands just trying to fill the void of something that's missing in the game of golf. Um, just like hitting greens is, or, you know, 1440 is, you know everybody's trying to fill a void and uh, when you find your, your team that you want to roll with, you know like you're gonna roll with them, and there's also other options coming up out of that, you know.

Speaker 2:

So it's, it's crazy, it's a busy time rob says no chance, rob jeremy replaces his scotty cameron putter no same same one stan only and only he'll replace it with another scotty cameron you know speed is coming out of surgery. He hasn't played in a while. Yeah, hoping to be back by pebble beach. I would not be shocked if you see him on the tee or on the first green putting green, practice green with a lab putter yeah, you know what he's doing it he's a yeah, he does a lot of forward press.

Speaker 4:

He's a heavy forward press putter and if he can't do that with his wrist anymore.

Speaker 2:

He might go with lab, because it's already it's already, so would you get one if he?

Speaker 1:

did it, would he get one? I don't think I would get one. He said you were. You said you were you know what. Be a man of your word, I promise you.

Speaker 4:

I promise you, if that happens, I will get one, I don't know how long it will last, but I will get one. He's going to buy it. It'll be at least 18 holes. It'll be listed on eBay before it even arrives. You know what you never know like nowadays I could.

Speaker 3:

I could be playing a lab, I could be playing goodwood, you could play an old thing. You could be playing that strokes game that's in his closet just hanging out, that nobody's ever seen in their life, you know, yep that's why I I want someone to find it in like a hundred years and be like this butter's never been used yeah, it's like a relevant yeah, yeah, I'm gonna be buried with it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's like a pez dispenser oh, speaking of pez dispenser, what do?

Speaker 3:

you think of the?

Speaker 2:

final of the final episode of silo that's what we were talking about.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's exactly what we were talking about.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm ready for season three already. Fucking Joe got me hooked on that show.

Speaker 3:

That's good.

Speaker 4:

Dan, you need to watch.

Speaker 2:

On Call. Okay, it's a new police show that's based in Long Beach. Okay, good stuff, all right, good stuff. Jeremy watched it. He really liked it. Check it out.

Speaker 1:

Is it like real drama or is it comedy? Oh no.

Speaker 4:

It's real, it's like raw.

Speaker 2:

It's really real. Okay, what is this? Open-mindedness has its limits.

Speaker 4:

Yes, it does. When it comes to putters for me, that's the tough one for me, yeah.

Speaker 2:

This is Jeremy's new renaissance music.

Speaker 1:

What do we got coming up next? We got Pebble Beach next. Nah, Farmers.

Speaker 2:

Torrey.

Speaker 4:

Pines, part 1.

Speaker 2:

Torrey Pines, Part 1, where they play two courses and they'll be back in three weeks to play just one of them.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but there's good tacos available.

Speaker 2:

They'll take down the farmer's insurance banners and put up the genesis banners yeah, they really should have went somewhere else. Man, oh my god, we didn't talk about that. Yeah, they, they definitely should have gone somewhere else yeah, they could have for sure.

Speaker 1:

I bet mark keely knows where they should have gone he's. Yeah, they could have for sure, I bet mark keely knows where they should have gone.

Speaker 4:

He's probably got, I would.

Speaker 3:

I would have yeah, I would have rather seen them go to goat hill than fucking play cory pines back to back.

Speaker 2:

I mean shit. Uh, ramshill was a great option.

Speaker 3:

Uh, I mean, I don't know there's no infrastructure out there for that.

Speaker 2:

Does it need infrastructure?

Speaker 3:

Well they'd have to fly everybody in. That's like an hour and a half drive to Palm Springs.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there's no place to put everybody.

Speaker 1:

It's probably just easier just to keep the course maintained for two extra weeks like it was they don't have to take down the grandstands.

Speaker 2:

It's just easy Three times two is boring Easy thing. Well I wonder if they'll not make the South course, like US Open, difficult, but just you know, cut it and have it play different than what we're seeing.

Speaker 1:

It's an elevated event. Yeah, genesis. I think they should should probably keep it tough. But yeah, they could have. They could have, I mean, I understand, getting it out of la. I mean like even sherwood and all that shit there I understand getting away just from all that fire and all that shit, but they should have went to stone eagle rings. Yeah, they could have went to palm springs, it could have done a little bit there's new too easy or something, yeah what's the trump course in palos verdes?

Speaker 1:

la costa just got done being remodeled by gil hance. I'm sure that probably would have been nice to you know showcase, but whatever they dropped the ball, I think they dropped trump uh, trump national is is south of long beach, believe it's not Palisades. I think that's like south of Laguna Beach and shit somewhere around there.

Speaker 3:

I think it's like Palisades like Torrance Redondo.

Speaker 4:

It's like South Rears, redondo and Torrance.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it was far enough away.

Speaker 1:

I think it's like.

Speaker 3:

I just don't know.

Speaker 4:

Like Championship Just took it to pasta tiempo bro.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I just don't know like championship or the Ike you know, just took it to pasta tempo bro yeah, yeah, I don't know all the like rustic canyon, rustic canyon.

Speaker 4:

I thought about that too, but they probably got close to the fire.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah no, I think they should have went to Palm.

Speaker 3:

Springs with. With MX being there, they could have moved all the grandstands to somewhere else pretty easily, it being Palm Springs, there's so many great horses out there, so many great horses.

Speaker 1:

I would have loved it, dude. They could have played the Madison Club.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, they could have shown Stone Eagle off dude Like Tom Doak's Stone Eagle they would have never let that happen.

Speaker 1:

The Preserve.

Speaker 2:

That's not a course that they're going to walk. They could have come here. That's like walking Cascada.

Speaker 3:

Just saying, like you know, they could have. That's all I'm saying. I didn't say they could walk it, I'm just saying they could have.

Speaker 1:

So whose choice would it be to do this? Is it a PGA choice, or is this Tiger Woods' choice?

Speaker 2:

I don't know. That's a good question.

Speaker 1:

Probably both Should have brought him back to Vegas. So give Vegas one more chance.

Speaker 3:

Tiger bring his shit in. Should have played.

Speaker 1:

Shaq, national, national Throw it back.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, throw it back to National.

Speaker 3:

Bring Tiger back to his first win.

Speaker 2:

He won his first tournament yes yes, great greens are rolling, good, I mean he didn't win there, he played around there and won the tournament, yeah yeah, but he did like he won the tournament that was at national I.

Speaker 4:

I wish I could find footage of that. I would love to see.

Speaker 1:

National back then? Was it at TPC Vegas, summerlin and National, or was it a three-course rotation or was it just a two-course rotation?

Speaker 2:

It was National Summerlin and TPC Canyons. I think I don't remember what the other course was, because DI was part of it one year. National was part of it one year. National was part of it one year. Sohi was part of it one year.

Speaker 3:

Stallion Mountain was part of it one year.

Speaker 1:

Bears Best was part of it one year. And it was the Michelin Championships.

Speaker 2:

It was hilarious. We had the governor at the time, bob miller um, because it was, they had a pro-am with it. Uh, and so the the governor was playing with tiger woods, and the first because we watched the first group go off. You know, I was like it's hilarious. They get steve win to come out there. He could always steve wins blind. It's like now on the t, steve winynn Hitting for Steve Wynn, tiger Woods.

Speaker 4:

You saw Tiger Woods tee off on hole one at National.

Speaker 2:

I watched him play the whole round. I watched his practice round too. He was the only PGA Tour pro that played National twice.

Speaker 4:

Was it the same time of year?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was October it was October.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, because he didn't just start mid-season.

Speaker 2:

It was just after, because they closed for overseed and then didn't open the course back up, and then the tournament was there.

Speaker 4:

Where was his first event? Do you remember? Was it Milwaukee?

Speaker 2:

Yes, I don't remember his first event, I you remember. Was it Milwaukee? Yes, I don't remember.

Speaker 4:

I was trying to think how long after he started, because I don't think he started at the beginning of the year. I think he came in sort of Maybe.

Speaker 1:

I think it was like his fourth or fifth start.

Speaker 4:

PGA start.

Speaker 1:

He won. I think, yeah, dude.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you'll learn, tiger, you'll learn. You'll know, you'll learn.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, fucking Curtis.

Speaker 3:

Strange.

Speaker 2:

What a loser.

Speaker 1:

Curtis Strange loser Fucking two-time US Open. Loser, loser.

Speaker 3:

So on the 90s, God he probably hates seeing that video so much dude like he uh, he probably cringes every time.

Speaker 2:

God, I don't even joe, I don't even know if I told you this one um on the, the nine key box, on his practice round um, the wind was from behind and he drove, drove it to the green yeah, I heard that one that one. Yeah, you heard that one. Yeah, you stand in there and it's hard to believe. I mean it's a long, it's not a short hole by any means, but he caught the down slow and just fucking oh.

Speaker 4:

Did you hear that Fred cut?

Speaker 3:

the corner.

Speaker 2:

Everybody knows that story. If you play with me you know that story Still, don't forget, he turned his club over on well, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. And everybody sang his birthday on. Happy birthday to him on 14. Memories.

Speaker 3:

Hey, if you need a, if there's a bucket list, that you need to do is to play golf with matt at las vegas national to hear all the stories of the old-timer club and that will tell them, to tell you about how freddie hit a lefty off the fence and cut the corner here and tiger drove the green here you can't cut that corner.

Speaker 2:

No more. Trees are too big yeah, but freddie did it and he was still good today boom, boom boom boom driver yeah, I bought some links clubs after that too.

Speaker 3:

Hey, another thing I did see today. I did see uh, did you guys see that video that mancinella put out? Ashworth is starting ashworth again yeah oh wow, I think he's gonna. I think he's gonna kill it. I mean, if he goes back to the ashworth style with the baggy, like the kids, the kids are liking right now gonna compete with mobon. I I think I john ashworth is, uh, is a genius. I I do believe that through and through and I think he knows what he's doing and uh yeah I could see.

Speaker 3:

I think it's a good move why not? Everybody else is doing it yeah, but the question is is john john ashworth still gonna run link soul like? Is he gonna run both, or that's another brand I?

Speaker 2:

haven't seen anything from in a while. Well, they're around, they're they're, I know they're around, but it's you know they were quite popular for a while. They've kind of they're still popular I. I don't see their stuff much anymore.

Speaker 3:

I think they've gone more of the lifestyle surfer kind of vibe. Yes, the algorithm, the algorithm.

Speaker 1:

When your style of clothes competes with, like a Travis Matthew, because I think Travis Matthew and Link Soul have similar styles in clothing, prince or another thing, yeah, shout out Beds. But yeah, when you see Travis, matthew and Calloway and all those guys making partnerships, it's probably a little bit tougher on a similar brand like Link Soul to make it out on tour like that you know, yeah, yeah, but well and then they do have the guys and they're sweating through their clothes and yeah lucas

Speaker 1:

glover, oh god yeah, that's true, he's a sweaty kid, he's a sweaty boy all right, joe, let's bring back up the ducks.
