CHASING DAYLIGHT

Send us a text

Rory McIlroy's emotional Masters victory delivered the most dramatic Sunday at Augusta since Tiger's 2019 win, and we're breaking down every moment that led to his historic Grand Slam achievement. From that towering 7-iron on the 15th to Justin Rose's remarkable charge and the playoff tension, this Masters showed why golf's first major remains its most magical theater.

We take you beyond the headlines to examine what made this tournament special - the challenging Sunday pin placements, Bryson's comments about Rory's focused demeanor during their pairing, and Max Homa's impressive performance. Plus, Taylor Gooch's controversial statement about the tournament field gets the critique it deserves as we discuss who truly constitutes golf's elite.

Looking ahead to our own golf adventures, we preview the VGN Laughlin tournament, where 56 players will battle at the underrated Laughlin Ranch, described as "Revere meets Mesquite" or "Conestoga on the river." Matt shares his fascinating equipment fitting journey, which led to an eye-opening discovery about extremely flat lie angles (56°) that transformed his iron play.

Our gear segment highlights the new True Linkswear shoes and G/Fore's MG4+ with G/Lock technology. We also preview an upcoming interview with Goodwood putters and recommend the Tour Read app for anyone struggling with green reading—this technology is changing how players approach putting.

The Masters reminded us why we love this game. Join our conversation each Tuesday night as we discuss everything happening in golf, from major championships to equipment innovations and everything in between!

Feel free to. There is no restrictions for the level of entertainment you are allowed to present to yourself. I do want to give a little shout-out.

Speaker 1:

Last week we had Sam on and didn't give any love to our show's supporters and sponsors. The Golf Stop Indoor Trackman Lounge in Henderson Go check them out. Love to our show's supporters and sponsors. Uh, the golf stop indoor track man lounge in henderson go check them out. Great place to practice uh roars golf. Uh, buddy of mine, roars, he's actually in boston right now. Uh, love that man. He's a big supporter of the show and the las vegas golf superstore, which I was at today. Uh and uh hung out with julian a little bit, got my putter, uh, my Odyssey blade bent to the right lie for me and uh then hit some shots with the new adjustments I made to the irons and got a virtual hole in one on the second swing. That was pretty funny. So, uh, thanks everybody for hopping on. Uh, we really appreciate it. And uh, yeah, let's have some fun. Appreciate it and yeah, let's have some fun. How are?

Speaker 3:

you guys doing tonight. Dude, I just want to say you are a baller, virtually just ace in the hole on foresight. You are just a straight up baller bro.

Speaker 1:

Congratulations. Five minutes later, I hit the flag.

Speaker 3:

Should I buy a flag? Should I buy a foresight?

Speaker 1:

flag Las Vegas golf Super, yeah what a boy. I'm what up boys dodging.

Speaker 5:

I'm still expecting drinks. Uh, yeah, I wasn't.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you got to get to the dinner. Yeah, yeah, uh, a little little run to uh in and out for everybody in the store there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, uh, so the the things that I got on the docket for us to see. Oh, also, scott russo.

Speaker 3:

I forgot to thank scott russo unwritten thank you so much for allowing us to use the intro.

Speaker 1:

All right, so for tonight this is what I have on the docket. Of course we're going to talk about that tournament that took place in Georgia over the weekend. The VGN is headed to Laughlin. Got one of the little trophies here. Sean Wood will love this Little chaparral-themed colors. Let's see. We got talking about my fitting rabbit hole that I've been on the last couple days. Matty G is back with the weather forecast for us for Laughlin. And then we had a round out at Revere on Saturday. We played the Concord course so we can chat about that. Joe wasn't with us so we brought Z-Man with us and then some of the new things we could talk about. There's a new True shoe that's just got released. G4s came out with the MX4s with the G-Lock in them. I got those rocking them Great, even though we had Lab Golf on last week. We are going to have Dave from Goodwood putters on and the CDP is getting some putters done Going to be sick.

Speaker 3:

Let's see 75%, 75%.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, you know, Jeremy.

Speaker 5:

It's still.

Speaker 1:

yeah, it might be a hundred if we tell him to stamp Scotty Cameron in it, then he might do it.

Speaker 5:

So just having him throw a red dot on the back and that's it let's see the very first order for me for the LA golf driver.

Speaker 1:

Have a customer interested in it that arrives tomorrow so I'll get some first hand looks at that. I'm excited to see that. And then there's a new app and I want to give a shout out to uh, the sweet spot, the John Sherman. Um, they had Ralph Bauer on who created the tour read app. I'll put a link in the show note amazing episode to listen to if you're a golf nerd, but if you want to improve your green reading which that's my issue Unbelievable, unbelievable what this app does. Julian and I tested it at Club of Sunrise and Spanish Trail and it is flawless. I did it at Revere checking before we went out. It's so on the money and it will really help you learn how to read a green better. So check that out. And then we got the pga tour uh, signature event at the rbc heritage stacked field because it's a signature event, limited field. Uh, gonna be some great golf over the weekend also the the r7 mini driver yeah, the r7 retro came out.

Speaker 3:

I wasn't I wasn't around when that dropped, so I'm curious uh, bj, it's called channel mates best drivers, yeah uh, it's called the tour read, tour read.

Speaker 1:

I'll, I'll uh put a link in the show notes for that as well, uh, but you can, yeah, yeah, just search Tour Read. I'm pretty sure it's called Tour Read. Let me make sure, yeah, tour Read. If you have a problem with reading greens, it does cost and it's not cheap. But if you break it out for how much it costs a month to read your greens and you learn how to read greens, totally worth it. So let's see, we got a roars chant.

Speaker 3:

Yes, yes shout out roars. He made me a fantastic putter. I've been using it a long time uh.

Speaker 1:

So the masters, jeremy, was kind enough to invite us all over to uh chaotically disrupt his peaceful abode for a while and, uh, what we loved it. What a great time we had absolutely great. Uh, one of jeremy's dogs would not leave my lap. It was hilarious. Uh, we just sat there chilled, had some great food. Uh, how about cat's dip? Oh my god, was that? Was that incredible, that was good yeah.

Speaker 2:

Unbelievable.

Speaker 1:

I know a lot of people have asked for the recipe. I already bought the stuff to get it make it, so I'll be doing that tomorrow, but it was a great time. It was great seeing everybody hang out and watch the show. If you don't do a Masters party, you've got to do it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's the thing. Yeah, yeah, it's the thing. I mean, like, if you don't do, if you're not watching the masters final round with the homies, I mean are you even watching the masters?

Speaker 1:

yeah oh yeah, do we do? We want to get into this yeah yes ups they will never they'll never be a sponsor. Maybe one year we'll find out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so we ordered the Taste of the Masters before it all sold out and it was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and it didn't. So I was following the tracking because I get a lot of stuff shipped here and I have the UPS app that anytime something comes to my house it pops up with a notification. So, yeah, it was packaged and ready to go on Monday and on Wednesday it still wasn't here and I don't know if anybody remembers, but last week it was fucking hot in town and those cold packs didn't make it.

Speaker 3:

And yeah, UPS never even put it on the truck to bring it to us. Pinchase Steelers, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So I went on a rant with UPS and basically they told me what I miss, miss joe, he's a dork.

Speaker 3:

Uh, bj's dealers, yes, uh, yes you bjp steelers stealer stole, it, they stole it somebody had fun with our stuff so your package is stocky.

Speaker 4:

That's right it is.

Speaker 1:

We didn't get it uh, I, I talked to my driver and he said it was never on the truck, that it was soggy and they just took it and threw it right in a garbage can. So that was a very nice of ups to ship a cold packed product. Slow boat from China, yeah yeah.

Speaker 5:

The food was still good, though it wasn't master's food.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, no, I mean, it was perfect. It was still perfect, no more, no less. Perfect. It was a fantastic Master's Sunday, couldn't ask for anything more.

Speaker 4:

honestly, it was. It was a good time.

Speaker 3:

Thanks again, jay. I could have gone with I. I could have could have gone with a 60 degree on the backyard chipping green, but that that's it I just need.

Speaker 5:

There's no more 60s on this property. Actually no, trey did have a 60 here that I gave him back. Did he let me borrow? But yeah, could he use that? No it was fun.

Speaker 3:

Matt, you still with us over there yeah he's, he's deep into something I think he's having technical issues oh yes wow earth to dad earth to dad my internet only failed.

Speaker 5:

What twice, three times?

Speaker 4:

Matt, if you're okay, blink once. If you're not, blink twice.

Speaker 3:

Oh, somebody, go to Matt's house, we can hear you, matty yeah, I mean, dude, there's nothing better than the master's sunday, like it, there's. It's the best yeah it is. And yeah, you know, you, I mean like watching it with your homies. I mean matt or dan was on the jameson hardcore. He was, uh, he was rooting for rory and uh, I was rooting for oberg. But you know, I just wanted to see the slam I.

Speaker 3:

I wanted to see the grand slam too, but I wanted to see him like battle for it and early on he did that's perfect behind what, what, what.

Speaker 4:

Hats off to rosie too. What a what a week. I mean, like you said earlier, I think it was was. I think it was you, joe, or maybe it was Colby, who said that Justin Rose has led the first round more than anybody that was in the field. Was that you, joe, or was that Colby? I think it was Colbs. Oh, but yeah, I mean for him just to hang around, and then at what is he? 44,.

Speaker 2:

I think, to do what he did on Sunday and shoot 66 and take Rory to a playoff.

Speaker 4:

I mean, that was good shit.

Speaker 3:

I mean I was rooting for a playoff all day. I mean it was. I love drama at Augusta, like if there's no drama, like for the winner, like on the second nine, you know it's. I don't like to see people run away with it at Augusta.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's my thing, blow out Exactly.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'm totally happy with the the outcome of the tournament. I think Rory completely deserves it. I just, I just hate when I hated it when he was like five strokes ahead, like I don't want to see that, I want to enjoy, I want, I want to be on pins and needles. So August don't want to see that, I want to enjoy, I want, I want to be on pins and needles. So, uh, augusta provided it.

Speaker 4:

Once again, it was the best, best master since 2019 in my opinion agreed 100 yeah, and you know, like they say, the masters doesn't start until the the second nine, you know, on sunday. So that's literally when it happened, because he was up 10 or up five on 10 right, and then, before you know it, he's walking off 18 type yeah, I mean, and and I would not.

Speaker 3:

I thought it was going to be bryson all day right and oberg kind of challenged him but like rosie kind of not necessarily came out of nowhere but he was he was definitely a long shot for the day. Yeah, yeah and he was, he was. He was two holes ahead of rory, but uh, rory's shot on um fucking 13 13, 15 in the creek oh yeah, yeah oh yeah the pitch shot. That was crazy. I did 86 yards. 86 yards, 40 yards left.

Speaker 5:

There's 40 yards of space left of the pin and he went right of the pin, which obviously happens.

Speaker 3:

I mean literally. What do you think he was doing there? Was he aiming at the pin, trying to draw it in? Aiming at the creek, trying to draw it in?

Speaker 4:

I think, I still think he was trying to like hit a good shot. Maybe, like you know, five, ten feet left of the flag because these guys are pros, it's 86 yards. I just don't think he hit it right. I just think that slope kind of got him and he just maybe toe shanked one and it stayed out to the right.

Speaker 3:

So you think, the ego got the best of him. Like I want to.

Speaker 4:

I want to drill this and make eagle here um, I'm not necessarily think it's an ego thing, I think it's just more of like a skill thing. Like I said, you know he's still pretty good with a wedge and from like what was it? 86 yards, 86, you know, yep, 86 with a right to left slope. He was probably looking a little left, he, you know he probably figured if anything it would be. You know, 10 feet, you know, be acceptable shot. But but like I said, I think he just toe shanked it and it came out with nothing on it. It went right in the fucking water. But what a way to redeem himself, though, on 15.

Speaker 3:

What a shot.

Speaker 4:

And 208, that towering hook, holy shit.

Speaker 3:

Dude, that shot was very sick, but then he proceeded to miss the putt.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I was going to say Did he make the eagle or no?

Speaker 3:

No, he made birdie, but he was four or five feet.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, he didn't make a putt on the back. He missed all the short putts.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, he hit it low, he was sick. It seems like he was really tentative on those short putts because it was the same exact thing on 18 in regulation. It was like I don't know. Sometimes I think that's like the same thing he did at the U S open. It was just I mean that was a different putt, super short and with a lot of break, but it just seems like tentative putting stroke like, not like the rest of the putts he hits all day.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, no, I mean he made the putt on 17, which is crucial to the moment.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but I think you're right, jay. I think maybe he had. You know. I mean, obviously I've never had the lead in the Masters, but that's got to be a shit ton of pressure.

Speaker 3:

Oh, dude, yeah man, he knows that half the crowd is cheering for him.

Speaker 4:

He knows the other half of the crowd is hoping he chokes, because that's either what it is. There's no middle with Rory. You either like him. You know you either like Rory, you love Rory, or you fucking can't stand the guy. Nobody goes. Yeah, rory's just, he's okay, you'd fucking like him.

Speaker 3:

I would disagree on that. I'm not a huge fan of Rory. I don't dislike him.

Speaker 4:

Joe, you're kind of the same way, because you don't dislike anybody, that's true.

Speaker 5:

Patrick Cantley.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, cantley, I true, that's kind of true. Patrick can't leave, yeah, can't leave out of work. Uh, we do. We do have a question from chapman. Um shoot, I can't even read this. Uh question do you think rory's caddy should have told him to aim about 10 to 15 yards left of the pin on 13? This is chapman. Uh, I feel like the caddy should have pointed way left.

Speaker 4:

I feel like he probably did I I was yeah, yeah, I would say it's probably the move, but also too like you can't be like, too dumb enough to try to challenge and go right of the pin, or well that that everything feeds to that pin too, everything, yeah, like all you have to do is hit a golf from tucson fucking little spinner joint and just feed it to the pin.

Speaker 4:

Probably would have hold it out it was just brain diarrhea that led to a great back nine and a terrific sunday. That's all it was. It set it up.

Speaker 3:

It set it up it set up the drama for sure I'm curious, like I'm curious to see if somebody asked I didn't see it. If you guys did, then I mean did, Like what was the shot on that hole? I want to hear that Right, Because that was the shot.

Speaker 4:

If somebody asked like what the discussion was for that shot.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, like what were you trying to hit? Where were you trying to hit it, Did you, you know?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I'm not sure if anybody asked that, but yeah, that's yeah. What's the mentality behind what you tried to do there?

Speaker 3:

yeah, did you toe squirt it right trying to get some ruby red, ruby red, fantastic grapefruit soda squirt.

Speaker 5:

That's a, he squirted it yeah, I don't know like I'll have to go back and watch it again. I didn't really notice what his lie was like for that shot or it maybe it was in a divot, for I mean, I don't really remember them talking about anything specific to that shot, but it looked like just a normal 10 50 feet left of the whole punt pitch shot do you think it was the right play to lay up for rory?

Speaker 3:

I mean, he, he was in a great spot off the tee. I mean you know he could, he, he could lace his three wood up there, no problem, easy, do you think it? Oh yeah, I feel like he was trying to play too conservative and that's not rory. You know if rory went after it, you know because because he scored when he went after it, he didn't. He didn't score when he tried to play the chorus and play conservative, rory played better when he was like playing as rory oh yeah, I.

Speaker 5:

I think that could be part of it too, is is? I mean, you saw all those shots he hit out of the trees, that one on seven, that was incredible, like he could have easily just pitched it out that that shot was insane.

Speaker 4:

That little flop shot, eight iron type thing. He hit over the trees.

Speaker 5:

That shit was wild dude yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't think.

Speaker 5:

Rory's a conservative player. I think you're right. I think some of it could be that he was being too careful and maybe that's why he missed some of those putts, because you miss the hole there and you're three, four feet by easily on even short putts. So it's probably could have been what happened?

Speaker 3:

I think he was not playing his game and I feel like that might be what happened. He wasn't playing rory golf, he was playing, uh, jack nicholas on the phone. This is how you play the course and you play it safe kind of live. You know, like it wasn't attack, attack, attack and he he kind of lost it a little bit. You know he was attacking those bunkers, he was trying to carry the bunkers, getting great lines into the greens and he was in the bunkers and everything. But I think he he wasn't playing his game for some of the round. You know, know what I mean.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, let's talk about a few key takeaways from the Masters. One of the things I'm super happy about Max Homa playing well. It's good to see him back. I always thought he needed to go back to Tideless, but maybe the Cobras will work. Yeah, he played great. He played great.

Speaker 4:

That was a big tournament for him, bryson.

Speaker 5:

He's a different. He's a different character. I really do love Bryson. I love Rory equally as much, but the whole thing about Rory not talking to him, it's like it's like it's the first time Bryson's ever played with someone that was like hyper focused at winning a golf tournament, because it was just weird how that was sort of a an issue. Like it's exactly how tiger was, like he didn't speak a word to anyone in his prime, like that he was just well.

Speaker 3:

That's why they're different people, though. Chris torres shot out the world famous. Uh, he had a question. Thoughts on bryson stirring shit up about Rory not talking to him.

Speaker 4:

I think it's a non-issue. Personally, I think Bryson's the likable guy high-fiving everybody talking chatty, chatty. Kathy. Mr YouTuber made a complete 180. And this is not a bitch against Bryson, I really like Bryson. I used to be Team Brooksy and all that, all that shit, but I've completely changed. But rory was locked the fuck in. He knew what he needed to do, like this was for 14 years, I think it was. This was the the, the monkey on his back. You know what's he gonna do be all you know chatty and bro-ing out with with bryson dechambeau, you know talking about. You know what they're going to do in the gym and shit. No, he's locked in. He's trying to win the Masters, he's trying to make history and be a Grand Slam winner and you know that's what.

Speaker 3:

I like to say yeah, I mean yeah.

Speaker 4:

Tiger didn't say shit to anybody. That's what killers do you get in the zone and you go go.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I mean he, he's trying to win the grand slam, right, like he was locked in, totally fine, he did not look locked in for his the golf game. He was playing for most of the round and uh, I'm curious, I'm like dude, there's so many like universes and parallel universes that how it could play out like how dan sent that, uh, that post, patrick reed three putting on 13, and where that could have laid out like in, and that's every tournament. Everything could play out so differently, like even even me man, like if I got that ace at cascada when it was hanging on the edge, like I'd have a cascada flag back here. You know, but I don't. So it's like so many things can play out so differently.

Speaker 3:

And, uh, I think I don't hate on rory for not talking to bryson, not at all. And anybody that does like you don't understand the achievement that he has accomplished, uh, this past weekend. So, like, put yourself in that that position, like if you're going after something and you don't want to talk to anybody, major accomplishment six people he's the sixth person that's ever done it like you don't got to talk to nobody, bro, it's. Yeah, you know he's not playing a four ball with the homies drinking sun cruisers. You know, it is what it is like. I'm not hating on rory for that at all. It is what it is Like. I'm not hating on Rory for that at all.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, no, not at all. The other thing that was I. I I felt like this year the coverage and the, the where they were at, the camera angles and things was the best ever for the masters, because we all hear like how elevated that place is. It's always flat on TV but the camera angles and the way that they showed some of those chip shots up onto these shelves that were are just insane and the shots that they pull off. I thought it was the best coverage of the masters yet that was great yeah they're getting.

Speaker 4:

They're getting better as these especially too, as like they're getting these sick little drone footages and stuff in there too, like, like it's just it's it's getting pretty sweet on how they can start covering some courses and stuff like that.

Speaker 3:

Hey, quick shout out to Mark. I saw his, his little video trying to go in for master's camera work with the with the. Did you guys see that? Where he was like going in for my master's interview and he was doing he was at a course with the flowers and he did this like and it's all closed up on the flowers, so shut up. It's like I'm saying, uh, that was funny.

Speaker 1:

I thought that was funny can you guys at least hear me now?

Speaker 4:

yes, yeah, we didn't hearty.

Speaker 1:

Dude, I don't know what the hell happened. That was terrible, so I'm like this now.

Speaker 4:

We are hey, you're here, what did I miss? You missed all the Masters talk. We moved on.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you couldn't hear anything, you couldn't hear anything.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't know what's going on. I heard a little click and then I could hear myself and then nothing from you, guys, no matter what I did.

Speaker 2:

We can hear you, yeah you better hear you.

Speaker 3:

You just couldn't hear us you should get it on whatnot and buy some new uh interfaces, audio interfaces, cameras, things like that I can do that.

Speaker 1:

I can show you that, yeah, it's, it's not junk, it's not junk. But, oh man, yeah, my apologies to everybody for that. That's okay.

Speaker 5:

So what was your take on the masters Matt? Obviously Rory and the Shambo and all that stuff. But what was your?

Speaker 1:

I thought it was one of the best masters we've had in a long time. I mean, it was. I thought it was, I thought it was great, it was entertaining. The. The course was, you know, it's the masters. It was stunning. You know, rory, it was such an emotional rollercoaster for him because, you know he, he had a chance to win and then lost, and then had to go into the playoff and had another chance to win and won. So I mean that window where he was, you know, oh my God, I just lost the Masters maybe.

Speaker 2:

And then, oh my God, I just won the Masters.

Speaker 1:

I mean going from that high to that low in a matter of 30 minutes, wow, you know. And his shot on 15, oh god right.

Speaker 5:

Unbelievable, that was tiger-esque yeah, it was tiger.

Speaker 1:

Uh yeah, sorry I missed all the masters talk. I gotta catch up on all this stuff. Well, so we?

Speaker 3:

did have a. We did have a question that we didn't address from cliff, uh. And he says, uh, didn't homa change caddies too? Because we were talking about max homa and how he performed pretty well and jeremy being a titleist fan boy. Uh, he was thinking that you know, max needs to go back to titleist and he's gone on cobra and, uh, he did decent this this year at the masters. And and Joe Granger, right, granger, whatever his name is I forget how to pronounce his last name, but JT missed the cut, right? Am I wrong there? Or no, not wrong, right, I don't know. Did he miss the cut? He was not in contention at all, but Max's old caddy was on JT's bag, yeah, it was on JT's bag.

Speaker 3:

And Max did fairly well. So Cliff was asking about Homa changing caddies this week too, because we were talking about how well Max did. He doesn't typically perform well in the majors.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the I mean his old caddy was on JT's bag just because JT's buddy was sick or his caddy was sick, so it wasn't like a career move. He was just picking up a bag for the, for the tourney for the week. Who knows what happened with Max. I mean he played great. Everybody loves. I'm glad he played great. Everybody wants to see him out there. He's, he's, you know, such a down to earth guy and and I mean, who doesn't want?

Speaker 3:

He did miss the cut, according to Chris Torres.

Speaker 5:

I don't think he did. I think he finished 36th. He played with Min Woo Lee in the final round. I thought Is that not accurate?

Speaker 3:

I don't remember, but I know he was not in contention Because I bet on him.

Speaker 5:

Pretty sure he made the cut, though, but yeah, he was doing nothing. He was like two or three over. Jeremy is correct, but Jordan Spieth did get a 14th, so that's all I. I don't care Come on Jordan.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, he's getting back to his golfing skills.

Speaker 5:

I think the putter thing's in his head, though. He's testing putters, and that's never a good thing for someone that's still testing, but I think for a person that is known for his putting and that's one of his strongest areas it's like when you're testing putters, you know there's some problems.

Speaker 3:

Comment from Brian Orr on Instagram. Not just the masters. That was the best golf I've seen in years from some of the best in the current game. Rosie had 10 birdies that was truly unbelievable dude rosie. Rosie was in the lead the first two days, right like if he didn't have a bad saturday and he lit Sunday up. Think about.

Speaker 1:

Rory's doubles, he would have finished it 18 under.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, think about Oberg. I mean, he missed five, or six putts. He could have been in that too.

Speaker 1:

The best one was if Patrick Reed doesn't miss that three-footer.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Matt, well, you mentioned that.

Speaker 1:

Oh, did you mentioned that?

Speaker 5:

Oh, did you. Okay, I'm sorry, a little bit.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. He makes that birdie instead of bogeying. That's two strokes and he finishes that a lot better. Patrick Reed wins the.

Speaker 5:

Masters, that's just a nightmare.

Speaker 1:

That's the thing there was. So much good god rory's saturday, where he went what six threes in a row, or five threes in a row to start his round. I mean that, wow, he's so much, so much cool stuff. We saw that, you know just incredible.

Speaker 3:

I mean, it was a. It was a, it was a great masters. Uh, it provided drama from some of the greatest players in the world. We got Bryson. Bryson fell apart, but you know there's a rivalry brewing currently. You know, I thought Rory's a great putter, but when Rory is under pressure, rory is not the best putter in the world. No, not at all. So it's like I'm real curious to see where that ends up, because I don't think this is the last time we've seen this battle. Like, we'll probably see this battle a couple of times in the next few years. Probably see this battle a couple times in the next few years. I do feel that rory has weight lifted off of his shoulders. He'll so much he'll have one more major this year. I fully believe that.

Speaker 3:

no, doubt it's gonna be I mean he has a fantastic record at quail hollow, so that's the next one, so but I think I think he is, he's on the hunt now, like it's lifted, he has the, he has the grand slam, like there's nothing holding him back now and I feel I mean you saw it on 18, he broke down. We don't see rory emotional and we saw rory emotional and, uh, I think he's got one more in him this year, at least potentially more. Maybe we see the Rory slam. I doubt it, but it's possible because very possible.

Speaker 3:

That's what he's been chasing for so long. 11 years longer, if if you're counting winning the masters, but 11 years chasing the grand slam. He's got it weight lifted. He's gonna win at least minimum, minimum. One more major in his career, minimum, yeah, brian north said on instagram.

Speaker 1:

The seven iron from 207 on 15 will go down as one of the best shots ever in golf history.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah that shot was incredible. How about the putt though? We talked about this, but he missed the putt for eagle he did.

Speaker 1:

He did miss the putt.

Speaker 3:

How about?

Speaker 1:

that.

Speaker 3:

Shot on 17 and his putt on 17,. Incredible. And to step up on 18 and lace that, drive I the only way. Like when he stepped up on 18 I was like he's just got to hit this fairway and he's good and he laced it, you know. Yeah, yeah how?

Speaker 5:

what do you guys think about the? The uh pin placement on 16? I I think like nor the normal spot, I think creates some drama, some excitement. But that was definitely a tough, especially the way the greens were firm and all that.

Speaker 3:

That caught me by surprise, because traditionally it's more back left. This was back right. I saw a video where that's where Jack the final round for Jack was 75. So they were going more like traditional. I loved it. You know, yeah, I don't mind where pins are, but you know it's a place of history and there's history involved with that pin placement, so I'm down with it.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I liked it.

Speaker 3:

I agree.

Speaker 1:

I liked it. I liked seeing it different.

Speaker 4:

It's a Sunday pin yeah.

Speaker 3:

It's a Sunday pin for sure, absolutely.

Speaker 4:

The hole-in-ones on 16 are great. Everybody wants to see all that stuff. That's great.

Speaker 1:

I want to see guys hit a golf shot.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, you can do that on Thursday and Friday. Put the front left Thursday, put the back left on Friday, front right on Saturday on the slope, like they always do, and then Sunday should always be back right. It takes a good golf shot to get close to that back right pin on Friday.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, Brian Orr said 16 pin back right brings that back bunker into play, which would be dead.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. They're making it harder. Making a little harder, you need to, yeah, they need to keep doing that, yeah I want to see a over on 15, the pin over far right.

Speaker 1:

That way you know if, if you miss right, you're in that bunker and you're short-sighted and that'd make guys hit it the middle and on the left side and then you know, have long putts. There's so many different things that you can do.

Speaker 3:

Yeah I think, I think I think the uh, the grounds crew, the superintendent, the agronomy team like did fantastic. I think it played out perfectly right. Like maybe if that pin was traditional traditional sunday pin, like things could have played out so differently. But I think it played out perfectly and I think that's the magic of augusta national. Like they probably foresaw what was going to happen. I mean not necessarily, but you know they felt it or whatever, because there's a mystique to augusta national and you can believe that or not believe it, but I think it played out perfectly the way it was supposed to.

Speaker 3:

And that's shout out to uh, the placers of the pins, the agronomy team, the grounds crew, like, um, it's, I think it was. I think it was, like I said, the best masters since Tiger won, and that the reason why that is top notch is because Tiger won and we all wanted to see that. So it's probably the best Masters, not including Tiger for years and years and years, because it played perfectly. I wouldn't have wanted to see that play any differently. Shout out Augusta National. Uh, give me a call. I'm down anytime. So yeah, give him a call, fred green sticker on the back of the.

Speaker 3:

Fred Ridley is. He's the dopest dude in the world, like you know. He just handles himself so well. Anytime you need a sticker, hit me up. Joe, where the Anytime you need a sticker, hit me up.

Speaker 5:

Joe, where the hell would you put a sticker on the property? Where is it going Under the bridge on 12?

Speaker 3:

The cover creek. If I was going to piss in Rays Creek, somewhat saying, right, we're not slapping stickers on a guest desk. I would not do that, but if I was going to shit, I don't know, you got to put it on the big scoreboard.

Speaker 1:

I'd probably put it in it.

Speaker 3:

I'd probably put it in some incognito spot under something, just so if somebody saw it they'd reach out and be like dude, I saw your sticker and I'd be like dope dude, you are a hunter and you found it. I appreciate you.

Speaker 4:

I wouldn't put it anywhere on your t-shirt yeah, you got to make sure the sticker's green so it blends in.

Speaker 1:

I wonder how many people do that and how fast they are at removing them.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, like on the phone, banks is a very obvious spot, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah clearly.

Speaker 3:

So I don't know, they probably have cameras on the trees and shit.

Speaker 4:

Good they're on it.

Speaker 3:

You don't see trash. You don't see nothing. They're on it. You don't see trash, you don't see nothing.

Speaker 1:

They're on it. I'm curious.

Speaker 5:

I didn't see this, Chris. I didn't.

Speaker 4:

Taylor.

Speaker 5:

Gooch always has something to say.

Speaker 4:

Taylor Gooch said that he's dead, he's done, he's dead, it's not it's not uh. It's not a uh. Did he really win the masters or a major without having the best field players in the world in there? I guess taylor gooch is including himself not being in the masters, you're not a fucking top player.

Speaker 3:

Bro taylor gooch is dead. You could have been something incredible and you left, so it did he say anything else like who should?

Speaker 1:

else should have been something incredible and you left. Did he say anything else? Who else should have been there? That wasn't.

Speaker 4:

I think he's just making a generalization about the Liv guys Most of the Liv guys not being allowed to play in the Masters.

Speaker 3:

The biggest names in Liv were there.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, he is. He's a fucking idiot bro.

Speaker 5:

I think that's not the first time.

Speaker 3:

He's just, he's a fucking idiot bro yeah, yeah, he fought every.

Speaker 5:

I think that's not the first time he said anything either, that's he's trying to draw some stuff up like, yeah, he's trying to stay relevant.

Speaker 3:

He's an idiot you had ronald mcdonald you had you had bryson, you had joaquin neiman, who is the best player on live, no question, yeah, yeah, cam Smith who did not do anything. Fantastic, I mean, you had, you had everybody you had. Ronald McDonald bro everyone was there. Joaquin Neiman is the best player on live because he he tries to hunt it down. He plays all over the world. He's won what did he win five times last year, Like worldwide.

Speaker 1:

Something like that.

Speaker 3:

He's the only grinder. Well, bryson, bryson is. Bryson doesn't even have to play anywhere else, he's and he's in the mix. But Joaquin is the only one, wakanaman is the only one that's trying to get in these fields, nobody else. I mean he's traveling.

Speaker 1:

Yeah right, bryson, not the best player in live.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, joaquin Neiman, I mean, yeah, I might have thought I might have just jumped that one a little bit.

Speaker 4:

He's got more live wins but Bryson also has a.

Speaker 1:

US Open yeah yeah, brian Orr's timing in on Instagram. Dj and Brooks both sucked, phil sucked. Phil played pretty good, but Bernard Longer almost made the cut and those guys didn't.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, how about that? How about him and Freddie man? Yeah.

Speaker 3:

A hybrid holdout Heard around the world yeah, cut. And those guys did. Yeah, how about?

Speaker 1:

that. How about him? And freddie man? Yeah, leather face hybrid holdout heard around the world. Yeah, that was sick that was sick, that was sick. Leather faces last masters yeah, well, they'll probably come back and have him in the honorary group no, he'll, he'll.

Speaker 3:

He's gonna be a part of the masters for a long time, but yeah, he's like I don't think he's. He's not playing in the tournament anymore uh, oops, not that one.

Speaker 1:

What was this? Uh, what was more shocking rory's approach to 13 or his approach to 18? 13, 13, 13, no doubt you have that much green left side and he I still think he missed it there.

Speaker 4:

That was dumb. That's what I thought too. I thought he toe-shanked that shit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, cliff said, better chance of seeing Brad Horvath beating Bryce's caddy than Neiman winning a major.

Speaker 5:

I really think.

Speaker 3:

Neiman can win a major. I think Neiman can win for sure. I mean he's won in Australia. He's won in australia, he's won in europe, he's won in uh, he's won across. Like last year, he's gonna win five tournaments across pga. I don't know, I don't know he's gonna. I I full-on believe Neiman can win a major, full-on.

Speaker 1:

Maybe a British.

Speaker 3:

I could see him winning a British Open, or well, the Open yeah, the Open. The.

Speaker 1:

British Open. Yeah, I don't know. I thought it was funny that there wasn't more talk about Bryson forgot he had to play on Sunday a fourth round. I thought there was going to be a lot more of that. No, it was good. I thought it was a great Masters.

Speaker 3:

It was great. I will say if anybody is looking for a gnome, don't buy it now. Wait till August. Okay.

Speaker 2:

Don't wait 10 years.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, don't wait 10 years because those things skyrocket. So wait till any masters gear you want to buy. Don't buy it right now. It's highly, highly inflated. Don't buy it now. Um, hopefully you guys win the lottery one day. Uh, I hope to myself hopefully you guys win the lottery one day. I hope to myself. Our friend Reed got to go and he had a fantastic time Did you guys see Cyrus' haul?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, Cyrus' haul was awesome, His video in his haul. Did you see that Joe?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I did of course. Yeah, those hats are $35.

Speaker 1:

They were selling on Whatnot for $100.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, he had like a dozen of the hats, not more. Speaking of whatnot follow, bookmark the show at hitting greens.

Speaker 1:

Joe mentions the podcast enough on his little shows. So, uh, yeah, it's, it's fair. It's fair to mention it, yeah, so if you guys don't know, we've talked about it a little bit. What WhatNot is? It's a live auction site where only people in watching the auction can bid and Joe's having some fun with it.

Speaker 3:

It's A lot of fun, a lot of fun.

Speaker 4:

It's a lot of fun.

Speaker 1:

Oh, what Rob said here, I missed that. Do you think US Open and PGA Championship would be better if they were held at the same course, like the Masters? No, us Open has to rotate like it does. I think we've seen enough Pebble Beach, us Opens and Pebble Beach.

Speaker 3:

I'm kind of over Pebble Beach Kind of like over it. I love it, but I'm kind of like over it. I love it, but I'm kind of over it.

Speaker 1:

What I like about it at the majors, you get four rounds at Pebble.

Speaker 3:

Beach, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

They make the course really fucking hard.

Speaker 3:

Those greens are so damn small already.

Speaker 4:

The next four or five years to line up it for US Open is pretty good, though I saw a clip of it somewhere. I think they're playing like. I think they're playing oak monic. What this year? Right this year? And then they go to like shinnecock and back to pioneers number two, I think somewhere down the road. Um, what else was there?

Speaker 1:

pebbles back and then two isn't it?

Speaker 4:

yeah, pebbles back in anyway, but yeah, there's some nice ones coming up on the road for the next five US opens yeah, cliff mentioned is it going back to Beth Page in like five, six years?

Speaker 3:

yeah, I played it. If you didn't know, that's sick. Yeah, I just played Beth Page.

Speaker 1:

That's why, yeah, just played that page that's why I'm bringing it up.

Speaker 3:

So it's cliff, but cliff said uh, fields ranch is gonna be a dope place for a major. I can't wait to see that. I know dan's been there.

Speaker 4:

So like yeah, I can't wait for it oh yeah it could definitely be a pga course for sure. Wing foot, that was another one, yeah that's right Rob.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Wingfoot Bryson won. Bryson won there.

Speaker 4:

How about Cliff just got done with?

Speaker 3:

Old Barnwell and Tree Farm.

Speaker 2:

Man.

Speaker 3:

Cliff, what a loser.

Speaker 1:

What a loser.

Speaker 3:

Nah.

Speaker 1:

I love Cliff because we're going to Nebraska with Cliff.

Speaker 4:

Those pictures were awesome.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that place looked incredible.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm really curious. Nebraska with cliff. So no, those, those pictures were awesome. Yeah, yeah, that place, yeah place looked incredible yeah, I'm really curious how you like tree farm cliff yeah, do I have to cliff?

Speaker 1:

you do a write-up about it. You haven't done one of those in a while for for the site I did spend some time with my buddy going to uh.

Speaker 3:

I spent like an hour on the phone with him earlier. He's going to bandon for the first time. He takes off tomorrow on a flight, uh, so nice, that's me, did you make him an itinerary? Uh, no, I didn't make him an itinerary he should have told him an itinerary he called me. He's like it's 55 to 65. Do I bring shorts? I was yes, bring at least two pairs of shorts. You're there for four days. Yeah, dude.

Speaker 4:

I'm stoked. Where were you calling Joe Abandon Matt? Where were you calling Joe Abandon?

Speaker 1:

Oh God, what were they calling Joe Abandon?

Speaker 4:

Camp leader or camp something, keith oh camp leader.

Speaker 3:

That's right, that's right, that's right. That's just so cool, though, man like I, I mean, I met, I met, uh the homie mike fry at, like the cam event, cameron kelly's event, uh, the kingdom, in like goat hill, and you know, he, he, he grabs all the hit and green stuff like every time. He's big supporter, uh, and he's I. I was on the phone with him, he called me, he's like I got questions for you. So, um, come to find out he moved from oklahoma to like an hour and a half away from the new dream golf resort that's being built in Florida, which he didn't know about. So I got to chat to him about that. So, uh, yeah, I can't. I'm so stoked for them. Mitch is going. Uh, doug from Sweden, like dude, I'm so stoked for them. I can't wait to see the updates.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's going to, Dude. I'm so stoked for them. I can't wait to see the updates. Yeah, that's going to. I miss Bandon.

Speaker 3:

I was supposed to go on that trip. I was supposed to go on the trip but couldn't make it happen, unfortunately.

Speaker 1:

Wait, you turned down a Bandon trip.

Speaker 3:

I did, I had to. I mean, you know it was. It's tough, bro, it's tough with two kids. But yeah, I potentially could have been leaving the band in tomorrow with some friends and I'm not going to be there but I'm with them.

Speaker 1:

I'm so honored you chose the VGN over Bandon.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that was the choice Right here, right, here yeah. Vgn.

Speaker 1:

That was it. That was it. Rob says he wants to caddy for Cliff on his golf trips.

Speaker 4:

Get in line Get in line.

Speaker 1:

We all have adoption papers filled out.

Speaker 4:

I'm carrying Cliff's wedges. You guys carry the woods.

Speaker 5:

Jeremy you read the screen, I'll carry whatever he wants. Carry the bag the empty bag.

Speaker 1:

We carry the clubs. Speaking of Laughlin, I showed this earlier. This is one of the smaller portions of the trophy that will be handed out Saturday afternoon down at Laughlin, laughlin Ranch. If you have not played it, I highly recommend you get your butt down there and play it. It is is a spectacular golf course. It's very underrated. I've been telling people it's a lot like Revere Lexington, but with some character. Not that Lexington doesn't, it's just it's very different atmosphere, environment.

Speaker 3:

It's such a great golf course. It reminds me of like Revere meets Mesquite. That's how I would characterize it.

Speaker 1:

It's Conestoga of the South, okay, of the river, of the river. Oh, there we go, conestoga on the river. We got 56 players that are headed down there. Big shout out to everybody that did sign up for this one. I know it's not easy going an hour and a half away. A lot of the guys are going down Friday night and staying there. They're giving us a discounted rate for anybody that wants to play on Friday. It's weird. They charge taxes and cart fees out there. So that's not on the you know the website. When you book a time, it's, you know, $130. Oh, and then there's a $20 car fee and taxes. So yeah, they're. They're making some good money down there in Laughlin right now. I've never we don't pay cart fees around here. I hope that virus doesn't spread north and the courses around here realize that, oh shit, we can make an extra 40 bucks a cart by telling people they have to pay to ride the cart if they do that, it's boycott season.

Speaker 3:

Oh man. I golf stop, only golf stop yeah 100% golf stop, only AMT times.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so it's a 300-point event. It's an elevated event and I can't wait. It's going to be a blast and I'm so happy we have all the people we have going down there for it. We've got 23 players in the space flight. That's going to be a shootout and that course is very scorable. It's very scorable. So the big hitters playing at 7,000 yards. You're going to have some fun, and everybody else. You know we played it last year in April and it was in great shape. That's why I wanted to book it again this year in April before they did some airing. Knock on wood. Hopefully it hasn't happened. Um and uh, yeah, looking forward to it.

Speaker 3:

So I will say, if you've never played it, you should try and go play it before the tournament, because there's some fucking tricky holes out there.

Speaker 1:

So uh, oh yeah get your eyes on it before and the routing isn't the greatest so, uh, watch where you're going yeah, there's some shots where we were like oh, don't hit it here, yeah, so yeah, it'll, it'll fool some people, uh chris costa in the chat on ig says uh, any word on full toe or full face Opus coming in the future?

Speaker 1:

Unfortunately not. Have not seen that, but as soon as I hear anything I'll let you know. I will let you know. We have so many requests for it. It's crazy. We got so many requests for 9 and 11 woods, like everybody would come up do you have a 9 wood, do you have a 11 wood? And then we got them and then everybody's asking for many drivers. Now we got him. So keep asking, keep asking, keep throwing it out there. Maybe odyssey will uh or odyssey callaway will realize that you know the full face is is highly requested with uh. I know a lot of people want those. No, yeah, all right, uh, let's see. So we got the masters taken care of. Uh, let me see if I could bring in. I should still be able to bring up maddie g. Let's get maddie g's weather forecast and we'll be right back, hey everybody.

Speaker 2:

it's first or meteorologist mac on target. The chasing daylight podcast big tournament for the vegas golf network this saturday at 8 am shotgun at laflin ranch. The forecast is gonna be calling for temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s right around 8, 9 o'clock, so definitely a wonderful start to the day. May feel a little warm throughout the round, especially for the back nine. We'll have daytime highs on Saturday at 80 degrees, but throughout your golf round we'll definitely look at temperatures in the 70s, so enjoy it under light winds. Should be a beautiful day for some golf yeah got rid of that heat wave.

Speaker 1:

We have some nice weather, so, um, we're all driving down early uh, saturday morning. So, uh, pray for great traffic and no, no, uh, yeah, no accidents. We don't need that. So, all right, that's maddie g with the weather. Let's talk about the new cruise. I know, jeremy, you put an order in for them. What made you do that?

Speaker 5:

I don't know. Unfortunately, I didn't make it in time because I wanted the white ones, so I think I'm going to order the black ones, though, but probably will order the white ones when they're available in my size, but I don't know. They looked amazing and I've been looking for sort

Speaker 5:

of a. I've been looking for like a. You know, I love the traditional foot joy premiere style, but I want something that's a little more like I can throw them on and just wear them to the course or if I want to play basketball in them. Yeah, I play basketball, you know.

Speaker 2:

Go to Star Nursery.

Speaker 5:

Get some cactus. Grab a cacti or two, grab a cacti, maybe get some Filipino food, you know just whatever Pan de sal.

Speaker 1:

You have enough cacti.

Speaker 4:

You're doing good on the cacti. His cactus garden is sick. Oh, I'm very envious the cacti.

Speaker 1:

His cactus garden is sick. I'm very envious.

Speaker 3:

Very envious.

Speaker 1:

Let's see if we have some comments.

Speaker 3:

I do need to order some of those. I haven't done it yet, but it's on my list to get some of those.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, rob, they did, but we hadn't had them in the Elite stuff yet. So that's what people were asking. Why is there an Obstacle Field event during Town of no, that's what people were asking. So, uh, why is there an obstacle event during town? Is that new? No, it's opposite field because this is a signature event, so it's limited field. So they're giving the other guys something, something to plan. That didn't make the limited field that is why?

Speaker 1:

um, okay, so the new trues, uh, the, the new g-force, the mx4s with the spikes, the, the uh g-lock spikes crazy comfortable I I'm a big fan of the g-force, how comfortable they are. Um, the the big, the bigger shoe that came out, the g18 I I love that's a great winter shoe because your foot just does not get cold in that thing. Um, so I'm I'm glad they came out with, uh, another version of a spiked shoe that, um, besides the gallivanders, I just I'm not, I'm not fancy enough for the gallivanders, uh. So, uh, these came out. I wore them, uh fittings at Sunrise and Spanish Trail and then when we played Saturday crazy comfortable, super stability. The traction is fantastic. So big thumbs up from me on those. If anybody's looking for a new golf shoe.

Speaker 3:

Grab True Linkswear, get some.

Speaker 1:

Trues or some G4s or G3. Or G3. Talk about the new LA Golf driver. I haven't seen a lot of people talking about it.

Speaker 3:

as far as who got it and hit it, I did see some people asking why Bryson wasn't playing it during the Masters.

Speaker 1:

I still think he's testing it, trying to figure it out.

Speaker 3:

Well, he designed it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it eventually will get to his bag. I can't see him not playing it, but it's a major season and he's getting ready to compete in these and he's very comfortable with the crank stuff.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But I can see him, once the live season wraps up, going and playing it next year for sure, once he gets it a little bit more dialed in.

Speaker 3:

Go listen to the crank episode. We had crank on, yeah, a month or two ago.

Speaker 1:

Go listen to that episode and he talks about rice and everything, so go listen to it um, yeah, that's what I got there, all All right. So what were we at? We're on an hour, I'll do it. We'll get into this real quick. So this, this is uh, I I, ever since I shot that round of wait. Hang on, what's this? What? No club giveaway tonight on CDP? That'd be a buyer. Rob got to be a buyer first before we do a giveaway, buy something, rob, buy something um.

Speaker 1:

So ever since I shot that, even round out at lexington, uh, I I played okay golf, not great golf. Um, my driver's been really solid, but the iron has still been an issue. And foresight, if anybody has a GC quad or they have used the foresight app in the past, it was trash and like when I started doing the fittings and I was like, wait a minute, callaway is, like you know, one of the big four. Why do we have such horrible software for fittings? Because the fitting software from from foresight it's not great, but they just did a huge update to their app and it is. It's on par with track man, if not a little bit better, because there are some amazing features in it and I highly recommend, if you have a quad, make sure you update the app and check it out. So, julie and I highly recommend, if you have a quad, make sure you update the app and check it out.

Speaker 1:

So Julie and I were messing with it at Club at Sunrise or at Spanish Trail and I hit some shots with my 7-iron and didn't really have time to dig into it there. But I came home when I was looking at it and I noticed that at impact my toe was up and I've been hitting the ball left. So it makes sense. You know, I ideally want to hit the ball straight, maybe with a little draw, and it hasn't been happening. And if it has been happening it's been starting left and going left. So I was like whoa you know I play my irons flat already was really surprised. So I picked the brains of Tim Flote Shout out to Tim Flote, he's my swing coach, that's helping me. I picked Eric Greenlee's brain, I picked Roar's brain, I picked Julian's brain, just because I wanted to kind of understand what, why was this happening, you know? And so I got into the rabbit hole.

Speaker 1:

It started with just a little little scraping of the surface and then by uh, this morning I was, you know, 10 feet down in a hole looking for the sun to get out of it. Uh, but ultimately the the golf shafts for my swing right now just are not kicking to help that toe get flat and hit the ball straight. So I messed around with my old Strixons that I have regular flex shafts in that. Saw some better numbers, those were flat. Saw some better numbers, those were flat. So then I put a Nippon Modus 105 regular flex that was hard, stepped from Strixon and bent the. Today with Julian we verified some numbers, bent that even flatter and oh my goodness, what a difference. Could not believe it. I the line first full in your all. Stop digging, but there's gold. Tell that to the guys at oak island, um yeah, they haven't done anything very good

Speaker 1:

it's been a bad season. But I, I, I, you know, and I was talking with Greenlee and I told, I said to him I go, you know, I'm, I'm already two degrees flat and he goes, he goes. Don't worry about what degrees flat you are, just get it, hit it until you're getting the numbers that you want with your ball flight and the ground interaction. And so, yeah, 56 degrees was the the line angle angle for that, which is crazy flat in you know club building world. But that lie angle is almost absolutely perfect and I was hitting the ball straighter than I've ever hit it today and very excited about that.

Speaker 1:

But just want to say there's there's so many different nuances to making sure you know your clubs are fit for you. You know what I swing and what I am set up for. I would never recommend for anybody else unless they had, you know, an identical path, identical speed. Uh, you know all that stuff. So, um, if you know you're having an issue with your, your clubs and you think you're swinging because my path is very, very repeatable, my face is very, very repeatable, but I was not getting a repeatable golf ball flight, so something was up and I'm hoping this brings a little bit of you know more better stats on my approach side of the game, because that is the weakest part of my game right now by far. Chipping's been good, putting been great, off the tee's been great, but my approach game is trash. So hopefully, hopefully, we'll see look out Laughlin Ranch.

Speaker 3:

Matt is coming. Look out field. Matthew Wangenyot is about to tear your ass up. Look out.

Speaker 1:

This guy.

Speaker 5:

I don't know We'll see.

Speaker 1:

We'll see. But then we also bent my Odyssey blade putter to match the lie angle for the Scotty. And oh man.

Speaker 3:

Moral of the story it's so good, good, dig a hole and dig your way out climb your way out mess with lie angles, mess with shafts tinker your way into a hole tinker your way into a hole and tinker your way out of the hole your way into a hole and tinker your way out of the hole. Tinker your way into a hole. Tinker your way into a ladder out of the hole, let's go. Hell of a hole-in-one foresight.

Speaker 1:
