337: From Lab Golf's Sale to Happy Gilmore's Return
The golf world witnessed two major developments this past week – the shocking acquisition of boutique putter brand L.A.B. Golf by luxury giant LVMH for a reported $200 million and the release of Adam Sandler's long-awaited sequel, Happy Gilmore 2.
The L.A.B. Golf acquisition represents a pivotal moment in the equipment industry as a cult-favorite brand transitions into corporate ownership. While fans and competitors alike sent congratulations to founder Sam Hahn, questions linger about the future direction of these beloved putters. Was this a necessary lifeline for a brand struggling with scaling production and managing growth? Will L.A.B. putters remain accessible or transform into luxury items with price tags to match their new parent company's other offerings? We break down the potential motivations behind the sale, insider perspectives on production challenges, and what this could mean for other boutique golf brands potentially eyeing similar exits.
Happy Gilmore 2 delivers exactly what you'd expect from an Adam Sandler golf comedy – ridiculous scenarios, heartfelt moments, and an impressive roster of cameos from golf's biggest names. The film manages to balance nostalgic callbacks with a surprisingly coherent storyline about redemption. While not cinematic brilliance, it captures the fun spirit of golf that appeals beyond traditional audiences. We analyze the movie's approach to the divide between established tours and upstarts, the standout performances (John Daly steals every scene), and the prominence of actual golf brands throughout the film.
Between planning our upcoming Arizona golf adventure, discussing the challenges facing Vegas courses during extreme heat, and teasing our Nebraska golf expedition, we offer perspective on respecting the hard work of maintenance crews battling water restrictions. With course conditions varying widely across the country, we remind listeners that not every course can or should be Augusta National – especially in August when temperatures soar above 110 degrees.

what is up everybody? Welcome, welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast. We've had a pretty eventful weekend in the golf space. Happy, gilmore 2 got released. Joe's mouthing everything I say, looking like a fool. Now Dan's doing it. Oh man, lab Golf was sold. We got our arizona trip coming up, uh one tournament, um, all kinds of good stuff.
Speaker 1:There's an excellent f1 race. Jeremy played an amazing course in tucson and and I made our way around concord, I went playing the dirt out of legacy and uh, yeah, it was. It was a pretty eventful weekend. So, uh, thanks everybody for being here. We really appreciate you if you're tuning in uh, live on youtube. Thank you very much. We very much appreciate that. Joe's been doing his damnedest on what not to promote the show and we are getting a lot of the what not faithfuls coming in and hanging out. We very much appreciate that.
Speaker 1:Shannon left a question for us. Hey guys, would you ever consider doing a what's in the Bag and what's the deal with Lab? We will get to that shortly. We've done what's in the Bags kind, the deal with lab, we, we will get to that shortly. We've done what's in the bags, kind of condensed, just yapping about what we're playing and stuff. I haven't really done a video. So, uh, I think when we're down in arizona this weekend, we may, you know, create some content and uh, and have some what's in the bags for what everybody's playing.
Speaker 1:Jeremy has a roulette wheel of Scotties that he plays. So we'll figure that out. Dan has fallen in love with a putter that he won and not sure if the Goodwood's going to make it now and he just won another putter. And he won another putter.
Speaker 3:And yeah, Look at Matt being a content creator I said we may make some natural content I don't know if you'll be very creative, I will for sure video. I will film video at least.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I will as well yeah, well, you know, jared well no, no hey, it's, it's when he's with Z, because in Tucson he took more photos on a golf course than I've ever seen in my life Ever, every hole, ever, I mean he eclipsed it when he took his third, but man, that course was absolutely incredible. Looks sick.
Speaker 2:We all know too the cactus. I was going to say we all know too, jay's got a boner for cactuses, so he's just in hog heaven out there.
Speaker 4:It was incredible. That place is sick. I don't know if you guys knew it before, or it's actually. Yeah, we took a little hike before golf into the waterfall to hang around with all the cacti, but yeah, it was pretty sick. They have two courses, two courses. They have the canyon course, they have the mountain course. We played mountain. That's the the one that's more popular. I guess they have a, the famous third hole yeah, what are you?
Speaker 4:oh, my goodness dude that hole is only 90 yards from the back tee are you serious? It looked like it was 200 no, it's tiny, but the green is small it looks half of it's hidden.
Speaker 2:That's what's awesome about short par threes you can make them tough even though you shrink that green and good luck.
Speaker 4:Yeah, the views are awesome.
Speaker 1:Mike said uh, interested in atomic golf? Hang out with a nice time in vegas would be free of charge if matt is willing to produce some content. Oh yeah. We're fucked, we're screwed. Oh, I don't know, mike, have you been to the Naked City in August, when it's 110 out?
Speaker 3:Mike, if we do that, it's going to be Matt trying to keep his elbows straight for an hour. What is that? I'm just saying you're on a search for the perfect swing.
Speaker 1:That's all I'm saying. I'm not on a search for the perfect swing, I'm on, I'm 700 of a thousand. Well, that's because that's because tim told me to take a thousand swings.
Speaker 2:Okay, so that's on the search for a little bit more lag with this, this new feel hey, Jeremy can attest what he saw me doing today.
Speaker 4:I heard the strikes. They were impressive.
Speaker 1:Glow Tay has me swinging it.
Speaker 3:That's great.
Speaker 2:I can attest I saw some good trajectories over the weekend.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's coming around. It's not the search for the perfect swing. I don't want the perfect swing, because then there's expectations. No, I just want a repeatable, consistent ball striking ability. That's what I'm in search of.
Speaker 4:Yeah, if you're not working on something, are you trying to get better?
Speaker 1:It's always something right. It could be anything.
Speaker 4:It could be a putting grip.
Speaker 1:It could be a takeaway, right, jeremy, right Jeremy, putting grip.
Speaker 3:I blew Jeremy's to play away, right, it's right, jeremy. Right, jeremy, putting grip I blew jeremy's mind today he did damn good vick vick sanchez in the house.
Speaker 1:Let's go oh, what's what's facts? Vick, what, what are facts? We've been spouting off a lot already this evening.
Speaker 3:If you're not in search of something, you're a side note side note vick is turning into the what not-er. He is, I've seen him around.
Speaker 2:I see him in there, I see him winning giveaways.
Speaker 3:He's been texting me, bro.
Speaker 1:He's like I almost had that one he was out there with us at Revere with Peter Lim. And yeah, vic, he's been winning some stuff, wing loose and let it rip.
Speaker 3:Let's go, justin, appreciatein appreciate, that's what I'm trying to do.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to get rid of some of that stiffness in my swing and create a little bit more flow I need some.
Speaker 3:I, at that point, I need more ashwagandha, you know, just get a little more stressed out of the body. You know what I mean?
Speaker 4:oh yeah, oh, your swing oh, another validation.
Speaker 1:Thank you, vick. Thank you very much, yes well, you played with vick right yeah, he was out there with us and peter lim at concord shout out peter lim.
Speaker 3:Guys go follow peter lim on youtube.
Speaker 2:Uh great he's a new vg and doing the work. Yeah, doing the work that was my first time, uh, meeting him and playing with him. So that was, that was nice. He's a nice guy, really good, really good. I've never.
Speaker 3:I've never met peter limb, but I did a uh like youtube because when, like when I started whatnot, I was like why are you guys here? And uh, he commented um, you know, for, for mutual, like a benefit. Whatever he said, I can't remember, but it's like you know that's what golf is. It's like help those that help you and shut out peter limb all day.
Speaker 1:Go follow him on youtube he won, he grabbed the uh hg, the, the dice man marker at legacy sick.
Speaker 1:He was the one that got that so, uh, yeah, good people, man, good people. We got another new member of the league that just signed up, um, so it looks like we're gonna gonna be close to 66 people out at, uh, highland falls next weekend not this coming up weekend, but following. So good on that. Hey, uh, real quick. Uh, I want to make sure we thank uh the golf stop. Uh, the golf stop is an indoor trackman facility here in Henderson that has four track man bays, a little snack bar, air conditioning. If you're tired of practicing and playing in the heat, because you're not smart like Jeremy and I and get to Revere at 7 o'clock in the morning, it's hot as balls in the afternoon. So having an air-conditioned indoor track man facility is an ideal place to get in some practice. Uh, make sure to check them out. You can book online. You can even go after night. You've got to have a membership. So check it out. Great place to practice 100% 100%, all right.
Speaker 1:So, uh, and, and what's? What's bigger news? Do you think uh happy Gilmore 2 or Lab Golf selling?
Speaker 2:Happy Gilmore 2.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think Happy Gilmore 2 might be bigger news.
Speaker 1:Might be bigger news.
Speaker 3:Okay.
Speaker 1:So we'll save that. Then let's get into the Lab Golf acquisition and man you want to talk about. Anytime something with the lab goes off, I get messages like crazy, and yesterday my phone was going bing, bing, bing bing, because everybody's like did you see? Did you see? Did you see? Uh and um, wow, it was a surprise kind of I?
Speaker 3:I mean, I had a feeling, right, and if if you guys are new here and you haven't listened to the lab golf episode that we had, what two months ago that's two months ago, right, I think it was when sam was on like there was, there was, I could feel it. I could feel it in the air, you know what I mean? Like something was happening. So go check out. Matt's gonna pin it right here in the corner somewhere. Matt's gonna pin it right here in the corner somewhere. Matt's gonna pin it what do you think?
Speaker 3:I have technology to do that, just go back and look at the lives it's got a big lab he's gonna pin it right here, and if it's not here, it's there or it's in the search bar, uh but I'll put it in the link in the show notes.
Speaker 1:How about that?
Speaker 3:now go check it out because I I felt something in the air when he was on the show. You know what I mean and you held back.
Speaker 3:No I no, I just he was talking about like uh, sourcing issues and like trying to keep up and when you, when you, and when you invite a private equity firm such as lvmh if you guys don't know, that's louis vuitton, fendi, don perry on like a lot of uh high-end luxury brands into your baby, right, because he said he's been curating it, so it's like you need help. At that point. It's basically shark tank and uh they were. They were struggling to deliver on their deliverables. Good for sam, though. I mean like sam's living in life, he's living it up, and eugene right now, totally shout out to them. I mean that's always the goal as a small brand, right, trying to come up.
Speaker 1:But well, you know, kraken had a great pose today I don't know if you saw that, I didn't know and mac made had a good pose. A lot of a lot of the boutique, uh putter manufacturers are chiming in and you know, and none of them are like, oh, this is ridiculous. They're all like, hey, good for you.
Speaker 1:You know good for you good for them if that's what you wanted, good job you. You marketed it, you got it out there, you got the somebody's eyes on it and and you cashed out now the bill. The other owner he said that he reinvested in the new company so he is still going to be involved. I I had a very short, brief conversation with sam saying congrats. Uh, didn't really go into details. I'm sure he's just been getting bombarded and his life is a little chaos. So I'll save that conversation for another time.
Speaker 1:So it's just speculation on my part. I have no insider news on this whatsoever, just what everybody else is seeing out there. So I don't know if Sam also reinvested in the company and is still going to be on board or if he has already bought his yacht and has left the West Coast and is sailing towards the Cayman Islands. So we will see in time. Uh, but I think with the issues that they've been having, and how I know that they have been having issues is because I I am friends with a lot of accounts that deal with lab and so I hear, I hear the stories about how they're bending over the wholesale guys. Um, the costco thing. I still don't fully believe 100 that they didn't have anything to do with that speculation. No evidence of that, just speculation.
Speaker 2:But when that happens.
Speaker 1:And then you have a private equity come in with that much money. You know, and I think cory paul had a great post today when he said you know, private equity firms don't come in and make acquisitions because brands are killing it. Yeah, they clean house, they clean house, they, they, they take over because money is needed desperately and they can do it and they feel there's a possibility that they can make some money on their investment. Yeah, so we'll see what happens. We'll see, we will we will for sure.
Speaker 3:I mean no, no shots at them for taking the bag.
Speaker 1:I mean absolutely not, absolutely not. If that's what you want to do. If your goal was to grow this, scale it and cash out, go for it. Now, like I said, did he cash out? We'll find out, we'll find out.
Speaker 3:We don't know. We don't know all that, we don't.
Speaker 2:We don't have it all yet I'm just saying if you, if you, yeah they needed help they needed help. Somebody comes up to you. They knew they needed help, whether it's financially, logistically, materials, whatever the fuck it is. When somebody comes up to you and offers you 200 million if that is actually a number- that is a lot of money to say I'm good, I'm going gonna fight through this because I think it's worth it and that's why I said good.
Speaker 1:That's why I said last week good for sam. Seriously, don't turn down a po from costco, I'm sorry, yeah I mean, the ultimate goal is to make money.
Speaker 2:Take it to sam's, and if it's, and if it's that stressful and somebody's just like, hey, here here's $200 million, walk away, enjoy your life, you've done it Fuck yeah, you made it Fuck yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah. Absolutely, but we'll see, we'll find out if he's still involved For them and their fan base and how much they love Sam. I hope that he stays with them. I hope he has some insight. I hope he is kept on as an innovator in the space Advisory role or something.
Speaker 2:Advisory role, R&D yeah.
Speaker 1:You could tell when we had our conversation with him, he is incredibly passionate about it. Oh for sure he believes what he is doing is for the benefit of golfers all over the world, and I am hoping that he is still involved.
Speaker 3:Yeah, me too, me too.
Speaker 4:Yeah.
Speaker 3:Yeah, for the sake of the game.
Speaker 1:Well, for this yeah.
Speaker 3:For the sake of the brand.
Speaker 1:Well, for I mean, if it's, if he still is involved, that tells me that he still wants to do it, that he still wants to make Lab something amazing and he still wants to be involved. Not just write that, check out to me, see you later, I'm gone, yeah, which, and if he did that, it wouldn't bother me either. Go right ahead, do what you got to do. But just just based on our conversation with him, I think he was an incredibly passionate and wants to see it do well and found a way to get some money that they they needed badly yeah, I think they were incredibly strained, like sourcing, financially, like getting things to get done, you know, and maybe it helps it Like we don't know yet we don't know.
Speaker 1:So I think it was this, or they were going to find themselves, you know, not in operation. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:Just trying to get a job. Now, this was for a majority state, correct?
Speaker 1:Yeah, they sold their majority shares. Sam and Bill sold their majority shares. Does?
Speaker 2:that mean Sam and Bill sold all of their shares, or do they still have some? They're just minority owners.
Speaker 1:The Facebook post that I saw from Bill said he reinvested in a new company so that he would still be around. What role or how much? I have no idea.
Speaker 2:I guess we'll. He didn't say and he said he wasn't taking questions yeah, time will tell Time will tell it will be out there.
Speaker 1:That's going to be a big nugget to follow, and it's going to because labs and the news my views on my video are spiking again.
Speaker 3:Agreed.
Speaker 2:Double viral. Well, I was at Golf Galaxy.
Speaker 1:I was at Golf Galaxy. I'm not monetizing that video.
Speaker 3:God, I was at Golf Galaxy today and I was like, should I buy this putter? Like if they go to shit do I have a like? I was putting with Oz and I was putting with the DF, df three, and I was like, should I buy this and is it going to be like post trash? You know what I mean?
Speaker 3:Like our pre trash it could be pre trash, you know what I mean. So I was playing with it and I was like, should I buy this just to buy it? Like, could this be like pre lab, like acceleration or deflation? You know what I mean. Who knows what's going to happen? It's so hard.
Speaker 1:Rob said lab wasn't set up for scalability for mass production. Custom orders and specs is what he got without anyone explicitly saying this yeah, 100%, agree with that, 100%.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and I'm really curious because it was bought by lvmh uh, because the lvmh they, like I said earlier, but like are they gonna slap logos, like a louis vuitton logo, on it and sell it for 2500 like?
Speaker 1:kith brand uh I well I sent it.
Speaker 3:I sent it to katie, my wife, who is in fashion and retail. Uh, she's like that's actually really massive. She's like that's huge. So big purchase, it's huge, it's massive. I mean, dude, the brands that lvmh own are crazy. So is it? Is it going to be? Is it going to get more limited? Is it going to be like slap a louis vuitton logo on it and then sell for 20, 2500? I mean, who knows? Like we, we have no insight into how they're going to take this and what their foresight is on this acquisition.
Speaker 1:So I mean, business 101 from watching shark tank. How fast can I get my money back?
Speaker 4:Right.
Speaker 1:And that's going to be their mentality going in. You know how fast can we get our $200 million back and start making money on this? What do you need? Here's an influx of cash. Let's make it happen.
Speaker 3:Well, yeah, so they made it happen, right, and they're making those putters for 50, 60, 70 bucks, selling them at 500, right, and to slap a Louis Vuitton logo on it is I mean, we talked about this earlier in the group chat but an extra $2, maybe you know, and they could sell them for 2,500. So it's like we have no idea where this is going to go.
Speaker 1:No, none, yeah, yeah, mike said, people are gonna start walking runways with lab putters as an accessory right, but you guys are familiar with like two.
Speaker 3:I think it was two years ago. Virgil, shout out, virgil rip. Um, he did louis vuitton golf bags with the, the golf balls and the tees. So it's like I mean, golf is so high in the spectrum of life. Now there's so many more people playing golf, so it's like, did they see an opportunity with golf, or did they see an opportunity to make money? So time will tell.
Speaker 1:Time will tell. That's the biggest thing. Time will absolutely tell. Some of the lab exotic designs would go well with lady gaga meat dress, yeah, yeah for sure, that's very true, that is very true.
Speaker 2:Who?
Speaker 1:do you?
Speaker 4:think so, let's, let's talk for a minute. Who do you think is the next potential company? Golf brand, whatever that could this could happen with, or they could get scooped up uh artisan.
Speaker 3:Do you think?
Speaker 4:Malbon could get bought by a luxury?
Speaker 3:I don't think so, because Artisan is now doing if you guys didn't see it Artisan's doing Fabletics. Did you guys see that? No, malbon designed the most recent Fabletics golf portfolio. I saw a post on that. I think malabon is like now I, somebody could come in and scoop them up, I mean it's, it's 100, yeah yeah yeah, for sure yeah
Speaker 1:I mean, we all know how I feel about good, well, good goods already been taken.
Speaker 3:I think I mean they, I mean for the most part right yeah, they're.
Speaker 1:They've been acquired by several tacoma, calloway and several brands, so no, we don't know, how?
Speaker 3:mostly right now right yeah, yeah, it's I basically I did, I would.
Speaker 1:I would assume that good good is basically callowaway at this point yeah, I mean they got the, the drivers, the putters, the golf balls yeah hitting greens one day, hopefully very funny hey, did you hear that fs1 canceled that morning show?
Speaker 3:that was called breakfast ball oh, did you, did you throw?
Speaker 4:a C&D's up there.
Speaker 3:Nah, I wasn't going to fuck with Fox Sports.
Speaker 1:That is not a new Instagram account with no followers. That is Fox Sports Guys, have fun. Didn't last, didn't last. I thought Logan Olsen at one point, but then TaylorMade got him at one point, but then taylor made got him. Yeah, um. So I mean, I don't know if there's a lot of brands that are independent like that right now that sugar loaf is already owned by the.
Speaker 3:That same umbrella that did uh, full swing.
Speaker 1:So yeah, I think it. I mean the amount of companies that callaway owns. It's crazy. So I I think the big brands have all these little smaller brands under their umbrella. But Lab was ripe for the picking. It's popular. People are buying it. You see it on TV. Sam is entertaining. Got the.
Speaker 3:US Open Right after the US Open.
Speaker 1:They didn't have any ties to anything except themselves, so it was. I don't see anything else like that coming to the top of my head that I can think of. I would love to see Nike start again with Artisan and do Nike clubs again.
Speaker 3:I mean BTC's out there trying to get up for the taking Please send all offers to Mike at Beautiful.
Speaker 1:Golf Courses.
Speaker 3:Rip RIP.
Speaker 1:The Revealer.
Speaker 3:Hitting greens is out there, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1:We'll see Steven Jackson. You know I chatted him up and he was like feedback that he was seeing there was a lot of people calling him a sellout, a lot of people upset.
Speaker 3:But yeah, I can seen was there was a lot of people calling them a sellout, a lot of people upset. But yeah, I can see that. I can see that, I can see that right. But it's like you built this fan base right like this, this full-on cult. If you will. I'm not calling you guys a cult, but like it was cult, like following, and it's like you're gonna do that to us now yeah, it's like, I mean, I feel it.
Speaker 1:Those, independent record labels sign in with the big record labels everybody says you know exactly 100 people get people get hurt like this was mine. Not everybody knew about it I like this. Oh the crowd was small, we were inclusive and not a lot of people know. And now everybody knows and it just you know. If you've been around and listening to something or doing something for a long time, you've, you've got a connection with it and now, you know, the mass people find out about it. It's like that's where.
Speaker 3:That's where I'm like really curious where they go right. Do they continue that kind of vibe or do they take it to the mainstream? And that's yet to be known, that's yet to be seen. So I mean, I've had, you know, I've I've listened to like underground hip-hop artists and they go to a major label and they still do the same thing. I'm like, yes, thank you for keeping it true. You know, yeah, or they can go like it's getting tricky or whatever you want to say, but it's it. You can go so many different ways. So it's yet to be known.
Speaker 1:Yeah, mike said the sellout thing is only applicable if sam completely bails out and isn't involved anymore.
Speaker 3:Doesn't think that would be the case yeah, I don't think I don't think Sam would give up on it, but go listen to the podcast with Sam.
Speaker 1:And, you know, after this all dies down a little bit, I'll reach out to him again and see if he wants to come back on and talk about what happened, if he legally can. Yeah, we'll be patient with this. Be patient, yeah.
Speaker 2:It's going to be one year.
Speaker 1:Nda Probably, probably 30 year NDA until the patents run out Probably Alright. Happy Gilmore, you guys were upset that I watched it. You thought I was going to wait 20 years, like I did with the first.
Speaker 3:Hey guys L's in the chat. It took Matt 20 years to watch happy gilmore l's in the chat.
Speaker 4:Guys l's in the chat right now yeah, that was shocking to find out a couple years ago I still haven't seen star wars, jeremy I know, I know, but you're it's yeah, jay different, that's different there we
Speaker 1:go I'm not in the science let's go oh so uh, I was not a fan was not a fan of the movie I think people that say that happy gilmore is one of the greatest golf movies. All right, jo Joe stop.
Speaker 3:I mean, they're doing L-L-L-L-L, so how else am I going to say it? You don't have to say it at all L-L-L-L-L.
Speaker 1:Yeah, see, there we go, that's right.
Speaker 4:Yeah, never seen Star Wars.
Speaker 3:Jeremy doesn't live in space, but Matt plays golf. I'll say that All right, yeah, two different things, boom.
Speaker 1:I was not a big fan of the first one. When people say that's their favorite golf movie, I question how many times they were dropped on their head and if they still have the pacifier under their pillow. It's not a good golf movie, it's a funny Adam Sandler film. Big difference what there?
Speaker 2:we go.
Speaker 1:Yes, oh, my God.
Speaker 4:Drop two.
Speaker 2:L's in the chat. Drop two L's in the chat.
Speaker 3:God damn, do an L7. L7's in the chat.
Speaker 2:L7.
Speaker 3:L7.
Speaker 1:Thank you.
Speaker 3:Take Up is great. It's a phenomenal golf movie.
Speaker 1:That is great.
Speaker 3:Because, Matt would be hitting a 7-iron in the water all day. Bagger Vance is one of my favorites.
Speaker 1:Bagger Vance is great. Look, Uncle Church in the house.
Speaker 2:Welcome to the congregation. Welcome to the congregation, welcome to the congregation.
Speaker 3:There you go uncle church, guys go follow uncle church and what not, if you haven't done it yet. L7 we got an L7 shut up.
Speaker 1:Ben L times 7. L7 weenie Bob gave me shit for the longest time, cause he thinks it's a absolutely fantastic movie and I don't. I'm sorry, it wasn't that good. I'll just leave it at that. It wasn't my favorite golf movie, but this one came out and I said I'm going to watch it.
Speaker 3:It's not your favorite golf movie.
Speaker 1:No, no, no, no, no, no. So I mean and I had this conversation with Boris earlier today If you go into this film thinking it's going, to be an epic movie, just turn around and walk back out. Stop.
Speaker 3:Shut up Ovenette. Shut up Ovenette.
Speaker 1:This is an Adam Sandler comment.
Speaker 3:Happy Madison Productions. Happy Madison Productions.
Speaker 1:It revolves around someone who plays golf ridiculously. So, that being said, if you go into it with that mentality, you can enjoy it. There is a lot of funny shit in the movie. There's a lot of stupid shit in the movie, but that's every fucking Adam Sandler, billy Madison production.
Speaker 3:You have to expect that the cameos and bro happy madison sorry what did I say?
Speaker 1:billy madison? Yeah, he's not gonna name it. Uh, so you know, the joe said he didn't like the cameos the first time he watched it. I thought the cameos were a fun part of it because of who it was. You know the the list. There's tons of videos out there. Just go google it or watch it on instagram.
Speaker 3:There's so many people breaking down all the cameos but I thought they go trevino, bro, I love trevino the the pga tour guys are in it.
Speaker 1:I I loved how it started off as a divide between the approach tour and a startup tour. It would have been amazing if bryson and brooks would have been on that maxi team that would have been yeah yeah, epic, um, but they didn't do that, which I understand. They're trying to bring golf all back together, um, but that would have been amazing seeing bubba and brooks and b Bryson on the MaxiFly team. Maxifly sorry the MaxiSquad.
Speaker 4:Bubba was wearing his range goats.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Bryson was wearing his and Brooks was wearing his. I mean, they were all wearing their logos, but the Champions Dinner scene was fantastic. John Daly was hilarious.
Speaker 3:John Daly was like for me, the star. John daly was hilarious. John daly was like for me, the star his bad man was absolutely serves an emmy uh page.
Speaker 1:Berniak had a cameo. Lab golf was clearly a huge investor in the film, because all the golf shafts on happy's new clubs were la golf. Uh, the artisan clubs in dicks. Uh had la golf embroidered on or engraved in them. Um, the owner or president of la of uh la golf was in the hitting bay when he was hitting next to page, so uh lab had a huge present. Or la golf had a huge presence in the film. I'm guessing hollywood them being there. There was some, uh, you know some financial things. But hey, you know, adam sandler had all his kids in it. He had his wife in it. Um, call back to the old characters. Everybody. That's the biggest gripe that I'm seeing from all the instagram and twitter posts is like you know, you didn't have to have an entire scene rolling back and you know it's.
Speaker 1:There's a new generation of people watching this that probably watched this before they watched the first one, so that helps give them a little bit of understanding what's going on. There was some stupid, ridiculous stuff, but that's. That's what you're gonna see in a movie.
Speaker 3:It's corny, I mean, dude. I I've watched it twice now and I think it. I think the first time I was like the end is so fucking corny, right like the whole whole bullshit, like that shit's, that shit's 100, it was that's game-ish absolutely that's absolutely garbage right. Like that's garbage right, but then I it again. But what's so dope is like everybody coming around coming around, because it felt like it was like Attack that Lived my first watch.
Speaker 1:Oh, it totally was. Oh, 100%, that's what I thought. That's why I'm like oh Totally was Hold on.
Speaker 3:So have you guys heard the thing about Greg Normanan? I heard this from one of the guys that sits up tables at my work. He said greg norman was notorious for bad breath. Have you guys heard that?
Speaker 1:no oh I heard I have not researched that is true, that is fucking funny I have.
Speaker 3:I have not heard it yet.
Speaker 2:I have not heard that, but my toast is Greg.
Speaker 1:I'm sure he had been around.
Speaker 4:Stag guy to the rescue. Yeah, there we go, that guy left.
Speaker 2:That shit was funny, though, when Adam Sandler said that he goes. Have you smelled that guy's breath? It smelled like somebody either died in there or a donkey shit in his mouth.
Speaker 3:I will say, though, that dude, that dude was the worst character in the movie oh, by far worst cast, the worst character ever. He's got naked pictures of sandler but but if greg norman actually is known to have that breath like, come on now, it's fucking funny, let's go on now hey does say.
Speaker 4:There's claims that media reports suggest that Greg Norman has been associated with bad breath.
Speaker 2:Wow.
Speaker 3:Maybe it is amazing. Right, that's awesome. I think it was. I think it low key was an attack on Liv Absolutely. But like to see Bryson and Brooks and all those guys like in there like representing real golf, right, like it's like how Well they're trying to make people think Liv golf is real golf. Exactly right, that was so. That was crazy. That was the first watch, and then I watched it again last night and I was like damn so. But they're repping it, you know spoilers right now.
Speaker 1:If you haven't watched it and you don't want to find out what happens in the movie, uh, just listen you've had your time.
Speaker 3:You've had your time, you've had your time.
Speaker 1:So uh, julie bowen's character uh happy, kills her off the tee in the in like the first five minutes of the film.
Speaker 4:Yeah, and I was like that was crazy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, what the fuck was that same? Uh, damn, he killed her that's.
Speaker 1:My favorite character that she's ever played is carol vesey from the show ed um. I loved her in that show. That's where I became a fan in modern family after that but she's always shut up modern family.
Speaker 1:She will always be carol vesey to me. So when she died, I'm like they killed carol vesey. I couldn't believe it. Uh, and then happy goes into this dark space, and that's another thing. People were chastising the film for he went into this dark space and became a drunk and and and just so unnecessary. And it's another thing people were chastising the film for he went into this dark space and became a drunk and just so unnecessary and it's like I think the storyline was great.
Speaker 1:Indicate that happens all the time Something dark in a player's life.
Speaker 2:I like how everything he had was a flask.
Speaker 4:Everything, everything, cucumber, a golf ball.
Speaker 2:Golf ball His range finder this shit was awesome. I think one of the strengths.
Speaker 3:The strength, I think the strength of the movie was the story. Like I think the story was fantastic, like the outline of coming back.
Speaker 1:Fantastic out there a lot. I wouldn't say it was fantastic. I said it was entertaining. Well, what are they going to do it?
Speaker 3:goes down a corn fairy and grinds and takes a thousand swings with his coach, I mean what do you want?
Speaker 1:They had to come up with something creative and they did. It shocked everybody, which I think totally made it even better that that happened.
Speaker 3:I think the storyline was absolutely great.
Speaker 1:I don't think the catty son was good. I think they could have left that out.
Speaker 3:I think Bad Bunny did a fantastic job too. Bad Bunny was hilarious. Bad Bunny was good. I think they could have left that out. Um, I think bad bunny did a fantastic. Bad bunny was hilarious, he was good dude.
Speaker 1:What he did was good carrying his clubs and he's like there's a stress to that, you know yeah, I can't believe jack nicholas was in that movie do you need some bread? Do you need some bread?
Speaker 2:that was there was some cameos in there that I was like wow, why would they be in that movie like kelsey plum being in the star? That I was like wow, why would they be in there like Kelsey Plum being in the star?
Speaker 1:shed. I was like what the hell?
Speaker 3:Post Malone.
Speaker 1:Eminem was the jackass guy's son he looks just like him.
Speaker 3:That was crazy.
Speaker 2:Nelly Korda and Nancy Lopez were the psych ward the nurses at the psych ward, which that was I mean, there was some really good stuff I saw kelsey plum and I'm like good for you, kelsey, get yourself into a film did anybody?
Speaker 2:I don't know. I kind of lost it at this part, but that's just me. I laugh at stupid shit. But um, did anybody see the part where slim Peterson Chubbs' son was like dancing and doing the robot and he had his wooden hand and he's all doing the robot with his fucking wooden hand Dude that wood hand was ridiculous. The wooden hand. His arm is like five feet long. I was just fucking dying laughing watching him do all this shit with his fucking wooden hand. I lost it for like five minutes watching that.
Speaker 1:I was just looking at him die and laughing, watching him do all this shit. It was out there, bro, I lost it for like five minutes watching that. I got some Gorilla Glue. I'm good Charlie Hall running the mini golf place.
Speaker 3:He's like I'm not going to see you either. She should have been smoking a cigarette though 100%.
Speaker 2:There was good stuff.
Speaker 1:There was good stuff. I mean if you're, if you're a passionate golfer and you're hoping to get you know, uh, 10 cup or or legend of bagger vance out of that. No, no, no, it's not happening it's not happening, but uh, yeah, I thought it was I, it was fun, I thought his kids were hilarious.
Speaker 2:It was cool until the whole Maxi golf thing took place.
Speaker 1:Then it jumped the shark when they did that.
Speaker 3:What do you guys think about the Maxi though? Hidden message Maxi, you don't think that plays into the Tiger JT handing him the Maxi? No, no, it was pink. Put that together. It was pink. It was pink, maxi was pink.
Speaker 2:That's a stretch in my opinion I think it was to me. I took it more as a jab to Liv, as Liv is more of like a of a puss tour.
Speaker 3:Right Austin Payne has got a comment here.
Speaker 1:The CGI was a little much, but it's an update of the times. Tribute to the original. I got my nephews some clubs and they cannot stop hitting balls after watching that's what makes me feel good.
Speaker 2:There you go.
Speaker 1:100%, absolutely, I would agree with that 100% yeah, and this new generation that is watching it. What's the last Adam Sandler comedy? Just go with it. Maybe this new generation that is watching it that you know, adam, when's? What's the last adam sander comedy? Has her? Just go with, just go with it maybe it's great great film, great film, just go with it I mean he went and did some dark movies for a little while, and I mean it. It's nice seeing back out there, you know making hidden gems.
Speaker 3:Oh, that was actually good I liked it.
Speaker 2:That was actually a good movie. I liked that movie. I did not expect that ending. That was sick very yeah the whole two, the whole, like cutting the ligament and the hip thing so they can get a big bigger rotation, that was odd. That was like way the fuck out. There I was like who thought of that? Yeah, whatever it was cool I mean it was so stupid because that guy was like 540 degrees rotated. It was dumb, but whatever hold on.
Speaker 3:So what was that guy's name? Uh well, that dude was brought up in hayley jules man. Hey, the jaws right, yeah, I just thought of this, I just thought of that right now so remember, remembering, not like us, kendrick lamar, who's like hayley joel osmond holy shit, holy shit you're gonna have to elaborate for those that know not what you were talking about no, it's just, uh, you know, the biggest brat beef of last year, kendrick vs Drake.
Speaker 3:He brought up Haley Joel Osment and he mispronounced his name. And then Adam Sandler throws him in the movie. Am I wrong here? Probably to you guys alright first time I've heard that that's pretty cool, though. I love it.
Speaker 4:Adam Sandler is a genius, no doubt about it okay yeah, and then he did a break 50 with bryson, which was also yeah I gotta watch that.
Speaker 2:I gotta watch that yeah adam sandler did a break 50 with bryson yeah, oh boy, I love it.
Speaker 3:Oh sorry, connecting rap wars with happy gilmore is so on brand you know it, you know it, get out there, hit those greens homie all right, jo Alright Joe Austin.
Speaker 1:You may know this. I cannot with his account. People will know my real name.
Speaker 2:Oh, I know who that is. I think I know who that is. Pf Payment failed.
Speaker 3:I think that's not how payment failed. Let's go. I feel like I feel like green tea all the time when I do this. Shut up, let's go kill us shut up green tea. We spend way too much time on whatnot bro, way too much time on whatnot. Way too much time on whatnot.
Speaker 1:Way too much time. He's like yep yep, yep.
Speaker 3:Let's go Shut up. Payment fails. Payment fails occasionally that's because banks hate whatnot. Banks hate whatnot Credit card companies love whatnot Not my bank?
Speaker 1:Not.
Speaker 3:Dan's credit card.
Speaker 2:He's earned more fire miles. He's going to.
Speaker 1:South Africa.
Speaker 2:Oh dude, I'm good, I'm set for life on fire miles. Oh, dude, I'm good, I'm set for life on fire miles. I fly around the fucking world, I fly to the moon and shit hey speaking of flying around the moon, we're going on a golf trip this weekend. Yes, we are. This weekend?
Speaker 3:Yes, we are To the sunshine state To the sunshine state. To the Sunshine.
Speaker 1:State. Practicing this morning at Revere and we're both kind of giddy about going.
Speaker 2:Fuck yeah, it's going to be sick. I'm excited to play Weeco Paw. Knock out those courses in Payson.
Speaker 3:That's right.
Speaker 1:We have the official rotation. We are going to Weeco Paw Sunday morning. We are playing the Chola course, which the official rotation. Um, we are going to uh week oh pa uh Sunday morning.
Speaker 2:Uh, we are playing the Chola course which is a it's a Chola course we're playing the Chola course no, mom.
Speaker 3:Their logo their logo is a Nike Cortez, choya, choya, it's the homies. My bad Cholla Cholla, it's the homies.
Speaker 1:My bad, I always thought it was called Cholla.
Speaker 2:For the homies, hey you know the cactus when you see the golfers in.
Speaker 1:Arizona, where they get stuck on the cactuses that stay with them. That course.
Speaker 2:Dude, how sick.
Speaker 3:Dude their logo as a Nike Cortez would be so sick, bro.
Speaker 2:It was designed Like Chilaquiles.
Speaker 3:Like a little Chilaquiles That'd be sick. He goes. Oh my God, what up Kevin, all right guys, oh, I've been there.
Speaker 2:Mike, I've been to Quintero, quintero's sick All expenses paid trip. Come on, matt, get back on the mic. Are we done? Are we done?
Speaker 1:So Weekelpaw the Cactus Course 2001. Designed by Scott Miller. Did anybody do any research on Scott Miller?
Speaker 2:He's a Jack.
Speaker 1:Nicklaus disciple, isn't he? So he has 11 courses out there. On top of the list is wikipa, uh, eagle mountain in fountain hills uh. And then we have the two quarter lane resort courses, uh, he did those. Uh, the famous, you know, hole on the water, that's one in china. Uh, the one of the courses at grand pines club, uh, my invitation only in montgomery, uh, deer creek golf club at meadow ranch in littleton and then, uh, sandia in albuquerque.
Speaker 1:I know, everybody knows about sandia right, watermelon, watermelon, yeah and then fox hollow in calgary and harvest hills in calgary. So pretty good, pretty good designs under his belt. So looking uh, looking forward to that uh yeah there is, uh, you know, google I ai uh says neither courses. Uh, one is better than the other, they are distinct. Wait, hold on. That is a bad AI, because that's talking about the actual fucking cactus. Good job AI. We'll skip that.
Speaker 4:Who designed Saguaro? Do you know? Cork Crenshaw. Isn't that a Cork Crenshaw? That's what I thought, yeah do you know?
Speaker 1:core crenshaw isn't that a core crenshaw? That's what I thought yeah, yeah, the, the.
Speaker 4:I don't even want to say. The reason we can't play there is they're closed, saguaro, or? Yeah, this is what I know, I know that one talk about the other one the other course.
Speaker 1:Uh was designed first and then they brought in corcoran shaw to do a second. Okay, hey tradition golf now shut out. Tradition. I told you I had 90 marinos in there right there, right there. Uh, matt was selling a bunch of shell bay stuff the other night.
Speaker 3:I like if you're new here, you guys better follow, subscribe. Check out the recent shows. We do this every single tuesday. All right, go bookmark bookmark, not bookmark follow subscribe youtube. All right, dead air dead air.
Speaker 1:I was letting you go on your whatnot rant, I mean no, look at this because this is accurate.
Speaker 2:This is accurate.
Speaker 1:Matt, make a website to buy the tradition gear. I'm never good enough with the swipe to get a hat, plus joe runs them up too high yeah, that is correct I tried to buy five things the other night and I got, I got sniped on all of them and I'm like man yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, joe was not letting Brandon get anything.
Speaker 3:Well, I saw Tradition did a show, but I was way too busy this past weekend, but I couldn't let Brandon get anything before the match. Okay, so that's why, Matty?
Speaker 2:when do you go to Scotland, Matty?
Speaker 1:This week. I thought he said he said yeah, I think it's soon yeah he said it was like eight days when he did his show and protection.
Speaker 3:I'm protecting the brand. Bro, get that 200 million investment from lvmh, you know sunday ladies, okay, sign, sign.
Speaker 1:All right. So Arizona rotation First off we got Wee Kopaw and then we're driving up to Payson and I believe we play Chaparral Pines first. I put it in the calendar, let me see if that's.
Speaker 3:I can't wait for that. That place looks fun.
Speaker 2:Let's go Chaparral Pines first.
Speaker 1:Yeah, chaparral Pines on Monday, and then the rim is after that, so we'll knock those two out, which, my goodness, they both look absolutely stunning I heard the rim is better than chaparral pines. Oh, nice, good thing we're gonna go baby.
Speaker 2:What's the court on monday?
Speaker 3:what is the course in flagstaff that we need to play? We need pine canyon.
Speaker 1:There's a bunch, three of them, there's like three or four I think.
Speaker 2:I think it's forest islands forest, if any, if anybody out.
Speaker 3:There has a plug to pine canyon or a course matt's tuned in, so it's flagstaff I'm speaking to you, continental club and pine canyon.

Speaker 3:The nine hole.
Speaker 4:That's the one that they don't have times until like 10.30 am.
Speaker 1:Oh, really I thought that was a good one. I thought the I'll check again to see if there's anything.
Speaker 2:I thought we were doing Laughlin Ranch.
Speaker 3:Well, that's in case we. That's the worst case scenario, which is a great great golf course Laughlin.
Speaker 1:Ranch is fantastic. It's going to be baked out and dry, but we've played it a few times. Is the?
Speaker 2:Saguaro course open on Tuesday.
Speaker 3:I promise you I'll fly out of Sky Harbor all day. You guys drop me off.
Speaker 4:As long as I can get to my house.

Speaker 2:Metallica might be having a Dude, I would be having 100% go see Metallica.
Speaker 3:there I'm going to put it in my calendar as GWAP. I'd spend $250 on Seamontalica at the Seamontalica Inside Joe, no doubt All day $250?, do you think?
Speaker 4:Tool will ever come and play in the Sphere $500, Mike. That would be epic, that would be bucket list visuals.
Speaker 2:If come into the sphere, I'm taking mushrooms and I'm gonna go to that show, I would I would go with dan, but I wouldn't take mushrooms. I'm doing it 4, 30.
Speaker 3:No, I'd spend 250 to see metallica, the sphere. I've seen metallica before metallica's.
Speaker 2:Metallica's not going to be that, it's going to be like 500 at the Sphere.
Speaker 3:Give me five, give me that what you desire.
Speaker 2:Tickets were like 300 or 320 to go see them in Limp Bizkit in San Francisco. I was this close to pulling trigger, but I didn't go.
Speaker 3:I'd spend 400 to see Living Legends at the Sphere or Hieroglyphics.
Speaker 1:Pay a lot of money to see Matter Mushroom If Pink Floyd does one last tour maybe, but there's a lot of dead guys in that group now.
Speaker 3:This is what I heard.
Speaker 2:Dead and Poe at the Sphere was amazing. Yeah, I heard that too.
Speaker 1:That's what I heard Dude Jared shout out to Jared DeAnda. The sphere was amazing.
Speaker 3:yeah, I heard that too. That's what I heard. Shut up we're insane, dude, jared. Shut up, jared deanda. He told us to go and uh missed it, but I want to see something I can sing along to. You know what I mean.
Speaker 1:I'm not a big, grateful dead fan no, I went to the silver bowl for a couple years just to hang out in the parking lot with everybody so toto 700 are you?
Speaker 2:serious, chris. No, holy shit. For what two songs what are?
Speaker 1:home prices that one song on repeat for two and a half hours well, they had africa.
Speaker 2:and then what was that two and a half hours? Well, they had Africa, and then what was that other? One. It's a two and a half hour version of Africa. The home price is going down. It's a great time to move to Vegas. Something else.
Speaker 1:Yeah, toto rips.
Speaker 2:To this day, toto rips to this day, to be honest.
Speaker 1:Well, didn't Razor do a cover of them recently too, when?
Speaker 2:those songs come on, though that volume goes up, that's for sure, I'd rather spend a g to see crisscross bro nothing slaps more than ride, like the wind.
Speaker 1:Christopher cross ride like the wind ride like the wind.
Speaker 3:mexican radio, bro sick, wow, oh fuck. I'd like to win to be free again.
Speaker 1:Joe, when I was playing with Mr Tefasian out at Legacy which I'll get on Legacy in a second he asked about our end credits music. I know that was a boy of yours back in the day that did that for us. I just want to give him a little shout out shut up verse, shut up verse.
Speaker 3:Legend on the track. He used to make all our beats back in the day when we used to, when I used to rap shut up verse, shut up verse, yeah I love that, love that music. Yeah, he's fantastic. I got a lot of his sleeper beats. But, uh, versus a legend, a vegas legend, 100, no doubt. And uh, I I have a cd over here you guys have never heard, because I used to rap jeremy does, does. Does the raptor have no?
Speaker 1:it doesn't oh, damn man. Well, that's the thing, bro you're uh, you're bringing boombox, joe.
Speaker 4:Yeah, you can hold it on your shoulder the whole time in the truck that's the thing, bro.
Speaker 3:Like I can't even put the cd in my laptop anymore. Man, cds are dead.
Speaker 1:What sucks man, hard thing.
Speaker 3:I still have a computer with a cd-rom drive, so you want me to throw that on a jump drive I got my old one down here and it's like all laced with a lot of really dope life cycle shit.
Speaker 1:All right, a couple of golf things to wrap this up. Special thanks to Kurt Kitayama, or not thanks. Special love out to Kurt Kitayama Picked up a second PGA Tour win at 3M. He lit it up over the weekend. Back-to-back UNLV Rebels leading the field in birdies in back-to-back uh unlv rebels leading the field in birdies in back-to-back events harry hall and kurt kidiyama. So congrats to those boys for that. Rebels on tour out there making names for themselves, love it uh also. Uh, dan, you played at piute. How'd you play out of piute?
Speaker 2:uh, good, uh, steady plate continued. I I couldn't make a putt this time, but I made like 15 pars. I had a lot of birdie chances. I had six lip outs, but still playing solid, so it was good all right.
Speaker 1:Uh, then, revere concord greens are in really good shape, fairways are okay. There's a lot of rough patches around the edges. Bunkers are still shit, but I talked with ice and they have some bunker dirt coming. Uh, it's been three years since they put any new sand in the bunkers. Uh, he said they are starting with the worst ones and we'll get them up to par. Uh, they said that. Uh, 15 on legacy the short par four before the par five along Anthem Parkway. That hole is going to get reseeded with Bermuda this year?
Speaker 4:And yeah, no, albatross, on which course?
Speaker 1:On Lexington. Lexington, just on 15. They're going to do it as a test to see how it does after the overseed through the winter and spring, to determine if they're going to possibly go that route for water conservation for the rest of the time. Um, but they have a new pump house coming in and so, uh, lexington will be bad. I get a lot of people say why is lexington so brown? Um, they had some water issues, they had a pump house failure, they have anyone coming in?
Speaker 3:I'll say this right it'll be back to normal here really soon after overseeing can we just say this real quick, guys, not every golf course is the masters, it's not augusta dude I am.
Speaker 1:So every golf course everybody complaining about conditions. When it's 110 in august, it's gonna happen it's gonna happen.
Speaker 3:Guys, like, not every golf course is augusta and these uh superintendents are doing everything they possibly can with their water restrictions on the golf course. Right, like, play the fucking golf course. If you don't like it, then go play somewhere else. If you don't like that place, go play somewhere else all right, who did?
Speaker 1:who did you hear that from? And mike uh bgt uh, rio seco changing the name.
Speaker 3:Find out what you can find out about that they're under new management, so it's gonna be called chasing daylight cc be called cabot, say cabot, seco cabot seco cabot um okay, okay, this is another this is another sorry, kevin, not gonna talk down to you or anything like that but this is another miss shout out birdie in a can, let's go that piute has unlimited water because they're on an Indian reservation.
Speaker 1:That is not the case. They have an allocation of water that they are allowed each year as well. Most of of the time we have friends at the Water District that give us this information. Because I ask a lot. Most of the time they are under their allocation. If they do go over their allocation, the city is not going to pick a fight with the reservation, so they can skimp if they want to. They can go over if they want to and they're not going to get yelled at, but they don't. And one thing that they do is they give a lot of their water back to the city, so it they're not greedy indians that can water whatever they want. They have an allocation.
Speaker 1:They know what the fuck they're doing out there better than anybody else in town. That is why the conditions are amazing. They don't turn over greens keepers every year like a lot of places here in town. They know they got a solid foundation out there. I mean, you guys remember when the fire at Mount Charleston released all the debris and the floods came and it wiped out the Wolf course. I didn't think we were going to have a golf course out there and that thing was back up and running so fast because those guys know what the hell they're doing.
Speaker 1:So, that being said, and then, uh, legacy, legacy is in rough shape right now.
Speaker 2:Um legacy I heard they lost water for like the last 12 days yeah, they have not had water for 13 days on the golf course.
Speaker 1:Yeah, um, they lost the pump. The water inlet to the pump station. It's part of the city. So they they have been pump the water inlet to the pump station, it's part of the city. So they, they have been waiting for the city to repair that.
Speaker 1:But I got an email from the GM today. I was talking to him. I wanted to put this out there because they're getting so shit on and it's just not fucking right. In my opinion, it shouldn't be happening. They are trying, they are trying, they're trying really hard and you know it's just freaking tough, um, but he said, uh, to meet today. Where's that? Um, because we have an event there in october.
Speaker 1:And so I just asked him. You know, hey, we're still gonna be good, right, and he said, yeah, we'll be fine after Overseed, just going to have to power through from now until we close on September 17th. We've put so much money into this irrigation system. It should be great for Overseed. We replaced all the heads on the greens, added quick connects to all the green sites to allow us to hand water and replaced all the valves to allow us to isolate each hole individually in case we have a hard break, so we don't have to power down the entire system to fix one single head, which is what they have had to do in the past. So they are doing the right things. It's going to take some time be fucking patient.
Speaker 3:Be happy we have a golf course. Yeah, be happy you have somewhere to play. Yeah, uh, I'll say that a lot of you guys are not from vegas, right, I know there's a lot of people tuning in that aren't from vegas. But like, give, give the grounds crew some slack, give them some leeway. You know, like it's fucking hard to keep grass green if you have a, if you have a front yard, backyard, it's fucking hard to keep it green, green grass, like it's hard, okay.
Speaker 1:And that's on a very small scale for a yard.
Speaker 3:Think about it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, give them some fucking leeway.
Speaker 3:Give them some fucking leeway man.
Speaker 1:I want to go in every single time I see somebody shit on the conditions at a golf course. Now, if you're selling tee times for $120 and you have dirt fairways and dirt greens, yes, of course.
Speaker 1:Fuck you, bro. For 120 bucks and you have dirt fairways and dirt greens. Yes, of course you deserve to get fucking chastised, but the head the head pro at legacy was out there. His name's daniel is awesome guy. He was out there telling everybody before they teed off we've had water issues. The course is in rough shape right now. Please, we apologize. We're trying to get it fixed. When you're done, come in and see us. We're going to give you a coupon for your next round. I mean, they're letting people know yeah, but that's the thing, bro.
Speaker 3:Like I mean, you can't expect everything dude. I mean, when I first started, right like this is we're going back on what? Eight years ago, I thought everything was supposed to be looking like the tour or augusta, and it's. It's not that. That's not the case, bro.
Speaker 3:That's not reality, okay yeah be thankful that you get to go play golf that day and now, as long as there's no dirt in your lie or dirt on the greens and the greens are running an 8 to a 14, whatever the case may be, like dude, just enjoy the time I live in nebraska.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to kill my grass so I don't have to mow it much hey, we'll be in nebraska omaha we're flying in omaha playing layman. We're playing prairie dunes do we have a course in omaha?
Speaker 3:we're gonna play the day we get there we're working on beds is trying to lock up southern dunes in uh sioux city for us.
Speaker 1:Nice, nice.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, that is looking good right now.
Speaker 1:Yeah, sorry Dan Uh.
Speaker 3:I should have.
Speaker 1:I should have, uh, muted the show for you for a second there. My apologies.
Speaker 3:No, but hey, like the conditions really don't matter at the end of the day, right, it's price caught. What did Matt say?
Speaker 2:What Did Matt say Price?
Speaker 1:equals conditions, exactly, exactly, exactly, if you have the conditions, you can charge the price, and that's one of the things I think that courses are struggling with right now, because not everybody is having excellent conditions but they're so used to making that spread that they've been getting. It's kind of hard to say no, but they're going to be pissing a lot of people off.
Speaker 3:Dude, this is hilarious. Right Payment failed, liz, 40 miles from Prairie Club you live in the middle of nowhere.
Speaker 4:That is like the middle of nowhere in Valentine, it's true.
Speaker 3:We're going to be there.
Speaker 2:We're going to be there.
Speaker 4:We're going to stop at the.
Speaker 3:Sonic. There's only McDonald's there, or something.
Speaker 1:Shut up Payment Failed. Shut up Payment Failed. Sonic or no, it's. There's only McDonald's there, or something shut up, shut up also also.

Speaker 1:You know, cliff likes his whiskey too, so yeah, yeah, I can't wait bro.
Speaker 3:I cannot wait. I'm so excited, seriously, like I can't wait to drive through cornfields, like literally plow our way through corn.
Speaker 4:It's going to be sick. Yeah, children of the corn.
Speaker 1:He's going to be at an hour in.
Speaker 4:He's going to like I wish you were coming.
Speaker 3:You know that.
Speaker 2:Oh, I know I'd love to be driving on flat ground for two hours.
Speaker 1:When is this going to end?
Speaker 3:And Austin, I have so many questions for you, like how do they get doctors at those hospitals that are in the middle of nowhere, so we can talk for a while?
Speaker 2:shut up it's flat and you'll see corn just corn.
Speaker 1:Yes, children of the corn, go watch the original children of the corn.
Speaker 4:That's where we're going, yeah is it the same from from like valentine to denver? Like how horrific is that drive?
Speaker 3:it's the same, dude yeah, it's probably the same. So so, uh, austin, we fly into omaha, we go play landman. If you haven't heard a landman, check out that joint king collins. I cannot wait to play. Landman shout out 13 brewing. He's a big listener of the show also started selling on. Uh whatnot? Um, just south of sioux city, southwest of sioux city, and then we drive to prairie club and then we play. Drive to Denver to fly home.
Speaker 1:Matt gave me a look like you're wrong.
Speaker 4:Valley, neal. Oh, I was thinking, yeah, I want to play Valley.
Speaker 1:Neal, I was thinking Omaha. It's north of Omaha.
Speaker 3:It's north of Omaha.
Speaker 1:It's a little south of Sioux City yeah.
Speaker 4:You have to make time for Valley Neal. Even Matt said we should. For Valley Neal. Even Matt said we should play Valley Neal, mr Trudeau.

Speaker 2:Have you played wild horse? Maybe I'm in the wrong state, but have you played wild horse on warm springs? No, no not that fucking dumpster fire of a golf course after after darden left, we can say it's a dumpster fire of a golf course.
Speaker 3:After Darden left, we can say it's a dumpster fire.
Speaker 1:It's funny because Peter Lim, with us playing at Revere, said he played Wild Horse for the first time and he thought it was a really fun golf course. I think Wild.
Speaker 3:Horse is fun, I mean.
Speaker 4:I see the fun potential, but the conditions are never fun During. The summer is the best time to go there because it's actually green.
Speaker 3:I mean, I like dried out golf courses, I like dried out bouncy golf courses.
Speaker 1:Oh, you should go play Legacy right now, then You'll love it.

Speaker 1:So, when those bigger ball markers get here the number one fan of the week we'll maybe start giving those away to people.
Speaker 4:Yeah, that's a good idea, If we do one a week.
Speaker 1:That's a two-year supply.
Speaker 3:What can we do?
Speaker 2:to give something away. I've got all kinds of shit we can give away tonight.
Speaker 1:I know, but for all the homies that are tuned in right now, we're missing a lot. I can give this away. I'll give this away.
Speaker 3:You're right, but how do we do it?
Speaker 1:What was that, Joe?
Speaker 3:A little Riviera joint. We can throw in a Chasing Daylight ball marker, maybe something else, I don't know. But how do we do it? If you're tuned in. If you're tuned in.

All right, we're good with that. Oh, whatever it is, and maybe we'll give away a garson, maybe we'll give away a garson grip.
Speaker 1:I am interviewing bernard garson uh thursday morning, so that will probably go out friday uh. So if anybody is interested in uh interview for golf industry folks uh, garson grips, if you're not familiar with them they have one of the better, better putter grips in golf. Tony finau has been rocking them, lydia co has been rocking them. There's a bunch of tour players that play their grips. Uh, joe's a big garson fan. Um, I can love him. Years ago, yeah and uh, yeah so that's gonna go out thursday.
Speaker 2:We could do like a little golf bundle because I got some shit I need to get rid of too. I can give like a couple sleeves of balls or some shit out too.
Speaker 1:I like Jeremy's idea of a Ziploc baggie with some random tees and a logo ball from the Wild Horse range. Yeah, for $35.
