348: Vegas Golf, Scrambles, And Haters: A Real-World Roundup
Cold mornings, warm greens, and a packed calendar—October turns Vegas into a golfer’s playground and a scheduling puzzle. We’re back after a quick break with stories from the road, a scramble win at Las Vegas National, and a candid look at what it takes to actually play when the weather is perfect and tee sheets are slammed.
We start with why this month feels so good—soft light, sharp greens, hoodie weather that disappears by the first tee—and why it gets expensive fast. From Spanish Trail’s range changes to Rhodes Ranch’s lights and longer hours, we break down which local courses are stepping up for everyday players. Then it’s all things scrambles: how we won the Office Bar event, why mulligan sales and gimmicks can warp leaderboards, and the mindset that keeps team golf fun and fair.
The hottest take comes from a single swing: a 285-yard carry to 10 feet on a par 4 that drew instant internet hate. We talk confidence, proof, and why your game can’t be crowd-sourced. That leads into VGN standings, planning for finals, and practical gear notes—wedge gapping, fairway shafts, and a putting setup that turns 26-putt rounds into real momentum.
We also wade into the pro-to-amateur status debate. Should former tour players be allowed into amateur fields after a waiting period? Where’s the line between a mini-tour grinder who steps away and a player with a robust tour résumé? Expect strong opinions and a call for clearer guardrails that respect competitive balance without closing doors.
Before we wrap, we point north to Black Desert and the Utah golf scene—lava rock vistas, new holes on the horizon, and why that region keeps earning “bucket list” buzz. If you love golf talk that blends local insights, gear tweaks, tournament strategy, and a little friendly fire, you’re home.
If this hit your golf brain just right, tap follow, share it with your group chat, and leave a quick review. It helps more golfers find the show and keeps the community growing. Where are you playing next, and what’s your biggest October tee time tip?

SPEAKER_02:Oh she was washing her hair.
SPEAKER_06:I should have just ran a solo show and just been, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they they said, no, not happening. And and I'm like, okay, good. Um, don't have to worry about that while I'm in New York. This this New York trip has jacked me up. I am I am still like just have not got back into my routine. I've been home, you know, almost a week now, and I just that town will will wreck you.
SPEAKER_06:Well see, look at Joe. Just that's why you don't have me do this. Yeah, man. Oh, I just uploaded it. Rookie. I just uploaded it. Yeah. It's uploaded, though. We know that's true. We do know it's uploaded. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04:Uh, so we've had uh the a lot's been going on. Uh we're we're glad we're back uh to resume the the weekly shows. Uh thanks everybody for being here. Also want to thank uh Garson Golf. Use our code Daylight15, save yourself 15 on one of the best golf putting grips on the market. I love it. Love it leave this up there for a few minutes. We know Joe and Dan's name, so we don't have to worry about their handles. You know how to get a hold of them. I'll leave that up there for a little while. If you if you have not experienced Garson, get yourself a grip. Uh, I've been I've been selling them out the the the garage to some people. Uh nothing but positive results. And let me tell you, that freaking putter yesterday at Rhodes Ranch, it was special. It was special because I didn't I didn't do anything. Actually, I didn't putt terrible at National, but uh yeah, Rhodes 26 putts with the Goodwood Proto. And uh left some left some lips, you know. I could that could have been a 23 putt day very easily, so yeah. But it's Garson, it's Garson and Goodwood. It's the best GG combo there is go go get ya. Go get a ghost.
SPEAKER_06:Quickly, quickly, quickly, quickly.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, and then also want to uh give some love to uh lower scores golf, Jeff Walk. Sent a uh nice little gift pack to me today. Got this hat. Nice not a big rope pad guy, but you know what? It's not that bad. Uh oh, he's changing. Rock that and he threw in some stickers and uh so thanks, Jeff, for your support. Uh he put out a cool little video of uh adding our logo on his workshop bench. So hey, you'll see that on his videos if you're not following uh lower scores golf.
SPEAKER_06:Please do lower scores are always appreciated. Yeah, yeah, never expected, but always.
SPEAKER_04:Hey, uh, so the chat should be a little bit more responsive tonight. I changed the uh latency. I didn't know you could do that. Found out uh you can change the latency, so the delay is not as bad. So hopefully we can you know respond to your chats a little bit, have a little bit better conversation. So uh this is in response to us not doing a show last week. Yeah, sorry about that. Sick of Joe shit. Yeah, a lot of us are this guy, good lord.
SPEAKER_01:Sorry, that's why he got stood up.
SPEAKER_04:We invite him to a golf tournament, he says he can't play, and then goes, Oh, yeah, I guess I could have played.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Guys, also if you're in the chat, just just say hi. Just say hi.
SPEAKER_04:Hey Ben, what up and likes don't cost anything, thumbs up don't cost a thing.
SPEAKER_06:Yes, free shit. It's literally free shit.
SPEAKER_04:We're up to 619 followers, run a nice little steady increase. Let's go. Been posting a lot of content on the shorts. Thank you so much for your YouTube. A year, actually, a little over a year, uh a year and a half, I think, is what how long we've had him up there. Um, yes, right here. Beautiful. Thank you, Austin.
SPEAKER_05:God bless you, Austin.
SPEAKER_04:Jeremy got a Jeremy got a little hate on on his video that I posted uh yesterday. Really? Him driving the 13th out at national. Uh first comment was uh actually there was some positive comments, of course, from our you know friends that that we know. Uh, but then uh gotta love the uh the uh oh wait.
SPEAKER_06:Hey, dude, you're you're double landman right now.
SPEAKER_05:Double, double landman, shout out Nebraska, dude.
SPEAKER_06:Shout out Nebraska, the Huskers. Let's go. Sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04:So the first the first comment was uh I I uh what drive par threes shorter than that or longer than that. Um and the other one was from the women's tease, which I mean it was a 285 carry over water, and I don't think it was much of the distance as it was the accuracy. You hit that to 10 feet. I'll try harder. Yeah, try harder. Do better, do better. And we didn't we didn't record the other one that you drove. That was even better, honestly, because that was uphill to a blind t-shot that you hit to eight feet. That was like 300. 300 carry, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So haters gonna hate, you know.
SPEAKER_04:Haters gonna hate, and we live in a hateful world.
SPEAKER_02:We love the haters. Come on, people who can't do people who can't do hate. So you know, it's hate, hate, hate, hate.
SPEAKER_06:Player haters ball. Yeah, oh you know what?
SPEAKER_04:Hate in your heart, let it out. Oh, look at the trip, the trifecta.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, I got the trifecta, dude. I am all in, I'm all in on landman.
SPEAKER_04:Where's your head cover? You can get your towel, wrap it around your neck.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, yeah, I need to do that. No towel doesn't match any of my golf bags, it's unfortunate. I'm just so it's it's currently not in use.
SPEAKER_06:I have one up here somewhere.
SPEAKER_05:You can I got shot glasses, I got drink cups, I got ah, so how how the hell have you?
SPEAKER_04:I saw Dan and Jeremy on Sunday, but it seemed like I hadn't seen you for a month. It's crazy. You we talk weekly and we talk daily in our check groups, but I mean we hadn't seen each other, it seemed like forever.
SPEAKER_06:Um well, since the last event, that was two weeks ago, week and a half ago, two weeks and ago, right? It feels like two months.
SPEAKER_04:I know it's crazy. Well, I left that night on the red eye. Um, dude, there's fucking little bagel trip.
SPEAKER_06:You had a little bagel trip, if you will.
SPEAKER_04:Amazing pizza right up the street from my daughter's new apartment. Wow, and you know that that pizza joint, they're not on social, they don't have a website, it's just a door, a small little hallway, a cooler, and a counter. That's it. And that pizza was incredible. Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_05:Okay, so I have something on that. I'm gonna resurrect something you said about three years ago. Oh, when you said rebellion pizza is better than New York pizza. That's right. Yeah, he did say that.
SPEAKER_04:Rebellion Pizza is really, really good. Don't get me wrong. I love rebellion pizza, but it's different though. There's something about I don't know, there's something about like we're at her apartment, we come outstairs, downstairs, you know, it's three flights of stairs, no elevator, of course. He picks the apartment with no elevator, uh, down three flights of stairs, up two blocks, you're walking on the street, you walk in, you order the pizza, and you carry it back. There's just yeah, and then you eat it on the floor because it's a new part. It was it was awesome. It was awesome. The pizza's amazing.
SPEAKER_06:I would go did you go fishing out there while you were there off the pier or anything? No. Shut up, my man Davy does it. Let's go.
SPEAKER_02:No rats in the gutter or anything like that. Snow coming out of the sewer storm drain lids and shit.
SPEAKER_04:You know, once you once you get in the subway, you you instantly the first subway ride, you're like, okay, I remember this smell. I remember this. It's and you know, I mean, it is not New York City is not a place for germaphobes. Um, you definitely yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:I think New York is like a place for like explorers, explorers and wanderers and like adventure seekers, like because you can get lost in that city. Oh, it's I never thought I'd like it when I went, like, because I went to New Orleans one time and I felt like claustrophobic being born and raised for Vegas, but New York is I love New York City, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:You know, I get I'm getting the subways down a little bit better or understanding, you know, and and Emma's she's she's got it down, so she's like my my instructor on Honda.
SPEAKER_02:That is the best comment I've read in a long time.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's true. That's true.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god. You got me right there, bro.
SPEAKER_04:What was crazy is we we had to go pick up and order a target and her closest target. We had to we had to get out the apartment, walk, you know, four blocks to the closest subway station, you know, it was four stops on the subway. Then we had to get out, and it was uh you know, three blocks down, two blocks up, walk to the target. But then we had each had two bags on our shoulders, and we had to do it in reverse, had to walk back, you know, take a subbag double double bagging, you know, and then go to the apartment. I was like, I told her, I said, I will take driving to Target, parking in the parking lot, and walking in a thousand times over this. Yeah, it's wild. It's a different life. Yeah, it's a different life, but the other side of it is, and I was telling this to Jeremy and Dan on Sunday. You walk downstairs, you go outside, there's a Dunkin' Donuts. Yeah, there's there's three bodegas, there's a deli shop, she's above a wing style, a winged weapon. Shop cheese. Get a shop cheese. There's just so much, there's so much going on. So yeah, it is a different world, it's a different world. So great, took me a while to recover, and then I get back, and we got fittings like crazy because I don't know if anybody's aware.
SPEAKER_06:October Callaway driver coming.
SPEAKER_04:Uh October is the greatest month. We can't talk about that yet, Joe. October is the greatest month in Vegas to golf.
SPEAKER_06:You're 100%.
SPEAKER_04:Hands down there. And I can't get anybody to play our golf tournament. It's driving me crazy. I I member guest season, great weather, fall events with the kids. I I don't know what's going on. Anniversary stayovers. I I there's so much going on.
SPEAKER_06:I mean, we have 46 people for this event. If you look at like people like what's the ideal time to get married in Las Vegas, October. When's the ideal time to like visit Las Vegas? October. What do most people in Vegas do? They work in hospitality and there's so many people coming, so it's just October is is is busy for Vegas, it's busy season.
SPEAKER_04:I know, but we didn't have this problem last year or the year before.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, I just think it's maybe the minutes are too close together.
SPEAKER_04:I don't know. I've I'm I'm we've got next year's schedule worked out. I may make some changes to that.
SPEAKER_06:But you are 100% right. Golf in Vegas in October is the absolute best.
SPEAKER_04:How amazing was Sunday at National?
SPEAKER_06:I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:I know you weren't there. I'm talking to the guys.
SPEAKER_02:It was, yeah, it was fantastic.
SPEAKER_04:It was flawless. There was some dew in the morning. The the greens were it was you know, you had hoodie, you know, light pullover early, and then by the first hole, those were off, and it was it was stunning, even even the ditch was was pretty. Just the little essence of trickling water through the creek. It's not bad, Tyler.
SPEAKER_06:It's it's just not bad.
SPEAKER_02:It's not bad at all. I mean sometimes we can play in shorts.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, January's the worst month. It's the month.
SPEAKER_04:I think it's February.
SPEAKER_02:The end of January, January, February.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, those four weeks.
SPEAKER_02:Then you then you get into like March and April, and if you can deal with it, it's always windy as fuck those two months. It's always fucking windy here in Vegas, March and April. But always January, February is probably the coldest of the months.
SPEAKER_04:But right now, the golf is the most expensive, too. That's exactly. Yeah, it's yeah, it's crazy what some of the courses are charging around here right now. But oh, it's gonna make a day of it. Yeah, yeah, because you just gotta get you gotta go early because once daylight savings kicks in, um, then the the we're in a part of the country where our time zones don't give us those long, long days.
SPEAKER_06:Got paint. Wind do not scare any of us.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, no, it's windy as fuck, but we're gonna be able to do that. Dude, that's all we do is play in the wind.
SPEAKER_06:Dude, I remember the round. Me and I like this, like you gotta have a memory core memory of mine. Me and Dan playing Pyute at like 6 20 in the morning. I remember that in January. And we snowing. We're like, fuck it, let's go. We finished 18 holes in like an hour and 40 minutes. We we got uh ahead of the grounds crew. We finished, we were like, we gotta get out of here. Let's play. Dude, that was core memory. Core memory. Play fucking and win, play in rain. Who cares? Enjoy the game.
SPEAKER_04:Just get out and play. Enjoy the game, just get out and play. Uh, best time to play morning. Yeah, you know, you don't want to go too late in the afternoon.
SPEAKER_02:First out, baby. That's the best. First out. First out. You got you have potential frost delays, but when you say it's too expensive to golf now, how much aver is an average average?
SPEAKER_06:Uh all you covet golfers. All you covet golfers, fuck the game up, Davey.
SPEAKER_04:Well, right now, pricey is like the average course in V. I say average before we get into the high end stuff. You're you're dropping 100 bucks.
SPEAKER_02:At least. Well, that's locals too. That's local. That's not slow down. That's the local rate. That's not the rack rate.
SPEAKER_06:Paiute is what 260, right? If not more right now, more. Yeah. I mean, we pay 90, 95.
SPEAKER_02:If you don't pay Vegas, you're getting bent over for golf in prime time. No joke.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, it's absolutely ridiculous. And that's that's gonna affect some of the rates for the entries into the tournaments next year for us because I've already got some of them back. And yeah, boy, this this is true, Paiute. But how much do you have to pay for the pack card? And how many times have you tried to book? How many times have you tried to book, and when you want to play, you can't?
SPEAKER_02:It's tough to get a tea time out there, Pai. You gotta grease those guys in the shop. I see only luck.
SPEAKER_06:You just gotta say latcholey, is what you gotta say. No, no, I didn't say that. We gotta as we gotta censor that one out. Only for the live people.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, all the time, right?
SPEAKER_06:No, but that's that's one of the things, though, right? Like we're a tourist destination, so it's like if you go to Hawaii or San Diego, like Tory, Tory Pines rips you you know, the the locals get 50 bucks. 50 bucks 280, I think, when we played there.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, uh South Course, I think was more, wasn't it? 270 or like 340.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, that's that's just one of those things. I mean, it's it happens. It's you take it how you get it.
SPEAKER_02:It is what it is. You want to play it, you'll pay it.
SPEAKER_04:So hey, yeah, if uh who is that that's coming? Uh let's see, who is that? Tyler. Yeah, Tyler, if just hit us up when you come out here and uh we'll help you get a spot.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, Tyler, hit me up. Well, I mean, some courses check IDs nowadays, but if we play with you, we can maybe finagle a little bit, you know. So uh obviously we're down you don't want to miss out on that that nut you're getting. We're we're down to look out for golfers, all right. If we can make it happen, we'll make it happen.
SPEAKER_04:Julian and I were out at Spanish Trail, it's just one trail, Spanish Trail, uh on it was Thursday. Yeah, but it's it's Spanish Trail. I got destroyed by somebody because I said Spanish trails one time. It's Spanish trail. Oh my god, dude.
SPEAKER_06:I grew up over there and it's always been Spanish Trails.
SPEAKER_04:Always Spanish trails. Thank you.
SPEAKER_06:Thank you.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, um, and they got rid of uh all the grass on the range where the balls land, except for the targets, did a really good job, it looks great. Uh the range was in fantastic shape. Um, the course is looking really, really good. Uh, we were at Rhodes after that. Um, they have the new awnings out there with the lights. Uh so they have the range open until nine o'clock at night now. And uh the lights also light up the chipping and putting area. So uh the people that live in Rhodes Ranch have a great opportunity to get out there and practice some extended hours. And uh Julian and I played there yesterday. That course is in really, really good shape. It's gonna get some more love in the rankings next year because uh it has been even though they castrated half the part of the course, um it is in really good shape. It is in really good shape.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, yeah. I I mean it's good for them. Like taking a step up and actually doing something that golfers in Las Vegas want. Like, shout out Rhodes Ranch for doing that.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, it was a big investment, and uh you know so it's gonna it's gonna pay off.
SPEAKER_06:It's gonna pay off.
SPEAKER_04:It's gonna pay off. And then yesterday, no Sunday, Sunday, was it Sunday? Sunday, yeah. Uh Dan, Jeremy, myself, and Mr. Vic Sanchez, big Vic Sanchez, uh played out at Las Vegas National in a scramble for the office bar. Uh and I'm shout out the office bar. What's that?
SPEAKER_06:Shout out the office bar.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Shout out to the local local legend. Local legend.
SPEAKER_04:Local and uh we handily won that. Um, there really wasn't much competition. Dan and I were hanging out at the office bar afterwards and heard more than one person say, This is my second time playing golf. Yes, yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So uh it's uh they referred to the tournament as a shit show, so that should yeah clue you into it's the OB shit show.
SPEAKER_04:Um so uh Jeremy had something to do, and and and Vic was, I don't know. Vic, what did you have to do? But Dan and I went there and they had a full spread of food, and and he's like, bar tab on me, and Dan and I both look at each other like, yeah, we don't drink. Yeah, we don't drink it. He goes, How about food?
SPEAKER_06:We're like, Okay, so um Vic had to load a trompa with some fucking Alpass Thor, is what he had to do.
SPEAKER_01:Trump got into the liquid deaths, got into the liquid deaths, shot out the liquid death there.
SPEAKER_02:Joe, they have a deer zombies cooler there filled with craft beers.
SPEAKER_01:Nice, we dude.
SPEAKER_04:So and and naked city pizza is operating out of the kitchen in there, and uh they had national.
SPEAKER_06:You're talking about no at office bar.
SPEAKER_04:Office bar.
SPEAKER_06:Oh, okay. I knew that. I knew that. Yeah, but I knew where the the tournament was. That's why I was like, what?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, no, we played there and then went afterwards.
SPEAKER_06:Okay, that makes sense, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:And uh the food, really good food. Pizza was really good, the wings are really good. Wings were really good. Cody was saying, is it was it Cody? Is it Cody or Corey? Corey. Corey was saying best wings in town, and they're up there, they're up there, they are up there, they're up there. I guess didn't know what a scramble was. Yeah, people in front of us were yeah, it was just a bunch of alcoholics that said, hey, come on out and play golf. Yes, that's exactly what it was. But it was a good time, good time. Got to see uh Dan, uh Vic and Jeremy hit some great shots while I struggled around the golf course the entire day. It was bad.
SPEAKER_03:Hey, the putter's on fire. The putter's on fire.
SPEAKER_04:And then I was very happy with my performance at Rhodes yesterday. Actually, played some really good golf. So I don't know, this knee thing, it's gotta get fixed. It's I have my orthopedic appointment tomorrow, so we'll fingers and toes crossed.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, that is that is a scrambles, yeah. Absolutely. Yeah, it is. They are I don't know. I mean, we've won we've won a couple ourselves as a team, and it's just I think that's like our fourth win with Jeremy. Yeah, we'll do like a 61, 60. I don't think we've ever cracked 60 as a team, but it's just like you don't trust it, like because there's no police. There is no police out there. No, no, and this is one of the main reasons why I love Roger Steele. Like he was a scramble police, you know. He did you see his tournament where he on Instagram where he like formed a team, like and was like, look out for these motherfuckers.
SPEAKER_02:I didn't see that.
SPEAKER_06:No, that was that was like a couple months ago, I think. But it's like stop fucking cheating on the golf course, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02:Like well, you see all these you see all these fucking videos where everybody comes in and you see these 44 60-year-old people who are 360 pounds with a sausage hanging out of their mouth and they can't shop 47 on the day, you know.
SPEAKER_06:It's like yeah, and it's like you're fucking lying, dude. You're lying, you know what you if you birdie every hole and eagle every hole for every par five, you're lying. Unless you're unless you got a pro on your team.
SPEAKER_04:Well, then they they you know, you can buy mulligans, you can buy the string stuff, you can buy and those really aren't like golf tournaments where a score matters. That's that's who paid the most to pad your stats. That's yeah, but it's it's like a a scramble tournament where hey, this is a legit scramble tournament, you all hit your t-shots, you all hit the same shit, you know. And I mean, that's how we play them when we play. We don't, you know, partake in the the mulligans or any of that shit. We're just out there to have a good time and have some fun.
SPEAKER_06:I might throw five or ten dollars down, maybe, maybe, yeah. Like you're like a rather two, yeah. You know, tops, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:They had oh, here you go, Joe. So they had a uh Casamigo's bottle, empty bottle. Well, oh, did you see was it in the tech chat? Did you see the number? Or did we do that in the radar one? So they filled it with Skittles and you had to guess how many were in there.
SPEAKER_06:Oh yeah, three thousand four hundred and twenty-seven was the answer. You would have been over. Uh I would have been close though. You were twice as much. Twice as much. Well, I didn't see I didn't see the I didn't see it.
SPEAKER_04:So well Jeremy used chat GBT. I think I think it got confused.
SPEAKER_05:I think it got confused on the size of the bottle though. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. That's what I was thinking too. Gotta clarify the bottle size.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, we gotta think, you gotta think uh width, base, length, volume. Pythagorean theorem somewhere in there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:You need more of Joe talking math.
SPEAKER_06:One of those range finders where they it's like shoot here, shoot here, shoot here, and then you it's Pythagorean theorem, Ethereum, Pythagorean, that's it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, a squared plus b squared and c squared.
SPEAKER_06:Carry the two.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Oh, I wish I could have been there. It sucks. I fucked up too. I also fucked up so hard. You totally feel bad.
SPEAKER_00:So much fucking time spending too much goddamn fucking time on whatnot.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, whatnot, dude. Dude, all you whatnot motherfuckers take away. I'm never gonna forget that line.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, you're you're never gonna live that down, Matt.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, not at all. I'm a proud moment.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, I mean, dude, I dude. Obviously, like you said earlier in the show, is October is busy. I mean, um, I where I work, we're full renovation, they ripped up all the carpet, they're pulling down wallpaper, and you know, there's too much stuff going down. Obviously, it's uh me and my wife's seventh year anniversary. Yeah, seventh.
SPEAKER_04:Um right, get that right.
SPEAKER_06:But uh, yeah, there's just too much stuff. We had a birthday party that I thought was on Sunday because I thought the 17th was a Saturday and blah blah blah. But you know, there's too much stuff going on. October's not good for me. End of January, February, into March is not good for me. But I wish I could have played with you guys, and uh yeah, I could have, but uh, I messed that one up. Get your shit together on me. I gotta stay off whatnot, guys. I gotta stay off whatnot.
SPEAKER_04:I gotta get off whatnot. Well, Joe actually read the email that I sent out today. Shocking. I read all emails and and responded if I get them, if I get them, yeah, if I get that, and responded, you know, and and is concerned about the the dates and and is he gonna be in the finals? And uh, you know, so I told him, Yep, you're gonna make it. You're you're gonna be in.
SPEAKER_06:So oh, so it's guaranteed. You're saying it's guaranteed. You said you should be in, so I'm guaranteed now. I know you're gonna make it, is what you just said.
SPEAKER_04:I was crunching the numbers today, and it would I it would be like incredibly difficult for you not to get in, uh, especially considering Jason Roberts that already withdrew, so that's another that was a guaranteed winner.
SPEAKER_06:All right, so you said I should be in earlier, and now I'm guaranteed in, is what you're saying.
SPEAKER_04:Well, you're you're sitting in the five spot right now. He already withdrew for the finals. Yeah, his schedule is just jacked up. So you must have got married in November, November 6th. Yeah, I mean, uh, there's there's no way there's gonna be six people that pass you up, so seven people that pass you up.
SPEAKER_06:So I yeah, I would I would say you're safe. And I can't play this weekend because uh, you know.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, well, that fucks it all up.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, that's why you know I'm not playing. No, you should be fine.
SPEAKER_04:All right, because uh Steven can pass you, but he would have to get a second place finish to do that.
SPEAKER_06:We don't get to go into all the details. All I need is a guarantee. You're in.
SPEAKER_02:No, this guy's in for sure. Yeah, that's that guy. Yeah, that's the guy.
SPEAKER_06:All you all you all you diamonds players, all you players, players, players, come play in the VGN. Mean more you players, players in the VGN. Dan has a lifetime exemption.
SPEAKER_04:Dan has a 720-point lead on Trey right now.
SPEAKER_05:Dan's gonna be on the senior tour.
SPEAKER_04:Trey's not playing the city.
SPEAKER_05:It's BGN. And now it's my chance to pass Trey.
SPEAKER_01:Ooh, yeah, because you're only 20 points behind him. That's right. Trey's in the Philippines. Yep. I got a 720 point lead on Trey. Well, you have won five times, sir.
SPEAKER_06:Also, if you guys don't know, you can follow all of our tournaments, tournaments on golf genius. Go check out VegasGolf Network.com. Matt always posts on the Vegas Golf Network Instagram how to follow the leaderboard, and you can see how I'm playing, how Matt's playing. And Jeremy, Dan. Oh, look at how I'm playing.
unknown:Let's go. Let's go.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Tournament golf has not been friendly to me this year. Casual rounds with the boys, playing really well. When it matters, it's not doing so well. Yeah, it's I come home from Sunday and and uh you know I brought home some pizza, and the wife's like, so how'd you guys do? I said, Oh, we won.
SPEAKER_01:And my daughter goes, What is it with you playing well with your friends, but you don't have any VGS shots fired at home.
SPEAKER_03:And I'm like, I I don't know.
SPEAKER_01:I wish I knew.
SPEAKER_05:I wish if you can't be safe at your home, where can you be safe?
SPEAKER_04:You know, nothing like a little friendly fire. My wife is my biggest critic, so she's she's my biggest supporter and my biggest critic at the same time. So that's funny. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I mine are my the ones that I have are old. They're old. I need some new ones. When was the last one, Matt? Uh last year at uh St. George at Sky Mountain. Okay, okay. Yeah, that was a good that was a good win. That was a good tournament. I played really well. So I need uh I need I need a performance like yesterday. You do. Oh, I'm so due. So do loving the new shafts, loving all the new fairwood shafts. Got a little little conundrum going on with my uh gapping in my wedges and uh my pitching wedge. So I'm gonna try and resolve that uh tomorrow before I go to the doctor and see. So but that's that's golf something. Hey, you know what? I I told I was telling uh uh I don't remember who I was telling him. I'm like, man, if I if I'm not in the finals and and you know I gotta be out there all day while everybody's out there playing, uh, I'm gonna be like the most stingiest timed marshal. I'm gonna be out there with a stopwatch blocking people.
SPEAKER_06:This will be like, fill your divot, fix the marker, break your bunker, pick your shit up.
SPEAKER_02:Let's go.
SPEAKER_04:That's five minutes you've been looking for.
SPEAKER_06:That ball, get your ass back three minutes, tops, guys. Get out, time's up, go play, keep going.
SPEAKER_04:So, y'all better hope I win. It's uh Saturday, so you don't have that lingering because I will linger and I will watch.
SPEAKER_06:I can't wait to be 55 years old playing golf, and Matt is just the marshal at uh Concord, and I'll keep telling him I'll keep being like, I don't like this course, I don't like Concord. Lexington's better. He's like, Well, I'm I'm assigned to Concord, all right. Play faster. Yeah, pick up the pace, Joe. Hey, shout out Bubba in the house. Bubba's all right. So speaking of speaking of speaking of revere. Okay, there's something coming up.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, here it is.
SPEAKER_06:There it is. Yep, guys. You guys know me from the Chase a Daylight podcast. You know me from hit greets. I'm trying this is so bad.
SPEAKER_01:This is so bad, but you know, you know me from hit greens, you know, you know me, you know me guys.

SPEAKER_04:Look on your phone.

SPEAKER_02:Friday shotgun, four-man scramble, breakfast burritos, and eight a.m. juice, endless beers and seltzers, hydration, hydrate, hydrateen hangover station, after party appetizers, and raffle.

SPEAKER_07:All right.
SPEAKER_06:Uh we get we're requesting PTO, guys. We're requesting PTO.
SPEAKER_04:Do you know when uh you have to register by?
SPEAKER_06:Zach, when do we need to uh register by? Bubba's in the chat, guys. Bubba's in the chat. If you have any questions, throw them out there in the chat. What's up, Bubba?
SPEAKER_02:Thanks for stopping by.
SPEAKER_06:Shout out Bubba for the win.
SPEAKER_02:Thanks for stopping by. While we wait, we hydrate.
SPEAKER_06:What was that date again? February 20th.
SPEAKER_05:20th.
SPEAKER_06:Okay. And then we got a VGN tournament February 21st. So it's it sounds like a double header on the weekend for me. Yeah, I'm playing.
SPEAKER_02:I'm I'm I'm playing for sure, Vic.
SPEAKER_06:I'm in for sure. First come, first serve. Once we hit 144, it's go time. So get up in it. Yeah, I'm collect your teams. Said I'm on his team, but he hasn't confirmed me yet. So uh it sounds like there's a CD Chase and Daylight podcast team coming.
SPEAKER_04:Hmm, okay. Oh, it's gonna leave us.
SPEAKER_06:No, you just said somebody else had you on your team, but yeah, and it sounds like there's the Chasing Daylight podcast coming on. So let's register and let's get our team locked in. You guys ready?
SPEAKER_02:I am, I'm always down here. It's revered.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. That's our local, that's our local, that's our local joint. Yeah, as well as Wild Horse and Legacy, Paiu, dude.
SPEAKER_04:Juju said he played Wild Horse with Kat uh on Sunday, and it was in pretty good shape.
SPEAKER_02:He said he was I've heard Wild Horse has really come back too. Yeah, I've heard the same thing.
SPEAKER_04:All that all that free water they got a couple weeks ago, it's gonna be back to the way it was in another week, but that's the course I took my PAT on back in 2001.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:AG's taking his PAT tomorrow morning.
SPEAKER_06:Where's he doing it at? I don't know. I haven't asked him. So is Scales. I saw Scales is taking it too. Yeah. Yeah. Big day tomorrow, guys. Big day tomorrow, guys. Sleep tight. Get your rest.
SPEAKER_02:Big day tomorrow.
SPEAKER_06:Pat. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. AG scales.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, Scales is doing his shit.
SPEAKER_06:Is it at uh uh the Muni? I would assume so, right? I have no idea. He said it, but I can't remember what he said.
SPEAKER_04:I've seen them at Boulder Creek, I've seen them at Muni. There's usually a few of the Boulder City Muni does it a lot. It all depends. It all depends. Ah, so in the meantime, go get you a Garson. Garson. Use code Daylight15, 15% off your total purchase. Feel the difference. And it's good. It's good.
SPEAKER_06:Love the Garson stuff. I love Garson.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:So uh, you got anything else going on you want to talk about? What's what's going on in the the world of golf?
SPEAKER_02:Anything did anybody see Jack got paid again today? Another lawsuit settlement 50 million dollars he got today. Who did you from Golden Bear Golf Group for some like disparaging remarks at live or some shit like that? I I don't know, but he got paid, he got paid 50 milli today.
SPEAKER_05:Wow, shout out Jack. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's been kind of a hot topic about uh players giving up their pro status to play amateur events again. I don't know if you guys have seen that with cold host. I heard about yeah, there's been some heat about that, and country club collection has been posting a lot about it. What do you guys think about that? Oh, that's tough.
SPEAKER_04:So this is so my buddy Steven Nolan, you guys know know or familiar with Nolan. He he was a mini tour player, um, played Hooter's Tour, I think, back in the day, and got all the way to where he was the second alternate for an event in New Orleans, and um grinded for years to get to that spot, drove through the night to get there, sponsor gave the spot to somebody else, and so he was done. He's like, you know, I've I've been grinding for three years to try and make a profession out of this. I'm just it's it's not happening, I'm not done. Uh it's he, you know, it was a wake-up call. I'm I'm not good enough to play professional golf, but he loves competing and he loves playing, you know, tournament golf. And so he reapplied for amateur status. And he got he was approved, and he went and the am tour that's down in the southeast. Uh, he won, you know, player of the year one year, he won like four times, five times on tour, blah blah blah. So for somebody like that, I can see it. Coltonos, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, he played on the tour.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, you're a tour player, you're a retired tour player. Um, yeah, that's not really an amateur golfer.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, not really an amateur golfer. That's the whole thing. It's like there's such a difference between even the top amateurs, like the career amateurs that play in the mid-ams and stuff like that. There's such a huge difference between those guys and players that can maintain a tour card, and it's not fair for them to come back down and and play. Yeah. Because, like, I think the last mid-am, there was like seven of the eight players that made it to the final eight were pro golfers that had gone back to amateur status.
SPEAKER_04:And I know a lot of people are saying on that that you know it's it's super easy to be a professional golfer. All you gotta do is say no, it's easy to be a proper.
SPEAKER_07:Yes, it is easy, but yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, I could turn pro tomorrow. Doesn't mean I'm gonna be good at it, but I can go play in an event where you have to pay for an entry fee and you can win money. That's considered a professional golfer. So there's a you know, a real like gray area in the middle there where you have a lot of guys that hey, they tried professional golf, didn't make it, but they still want to compete. You know, I I can see that. But I mean, Colt is a USAM or amateur champion, he's uh PGA tour winner, he's played on the tour for years. I mean, that's just my opinion. That's like, hey, you know, you you the path you went down, you chose professional golf and you succeeded at it.
SPEAKER_06:That's the path you went down, and you didn't make it, so can't go back. He did okay. He did okay, but I think he did okay. He's not still playing, is what I'm saying. Is like yeah, you went down that path. Once you c uh cross that echelon, you can't come back.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, you can't come back. What do you think, Jeremy?
SPEAKER_05:I agree. I I just think there's so many different levels of pro golfers, like Steven, how you were explaining, it's like, yeah, I mean, that sounds like an amp he could fit within that range of the amateur players, but the guys that are holding their Corn Ferry cards, their DP World cards, their PJ tour cards, it's like, how do you justify that? I mean, there's there is a waiting period, I think. I I'm not exactly sure what it is. Yeah, me either. But I think there should be a longer waiting period, in my opinion. But I I always I just think that I mean, I'm not playing in those events, I'm not good enough to qualify for them, I don't think.
SPEAKER_04:So yes, you are.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, you better start thinking that way, Jeremy. I know. Stop self-doubting.
SPEAKER_04:Guys need to stop every year going, oh man, we could have got in the middle.
SPEAKER_05:Oh, yeah, I'm not I'm not that good. I'm not that good, guys. We should commit, we should commit to that, Dan. Let's go. We should find out what when it is next year. Isn't it probably yeah?
SPEAKER_02:I'm down for that. I'm down for that for sure. Isn't it at Sand Hills next year?
SPEAKER_06:Oh, let's go. Ooh, let's check. I gotta polo to where.
SPEAKER_05:Let's see. It is San Valley or San Valley, yeah. Yeah, the Leto.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, because it was just at True.
SPEAKER_05:Let's fucking go. Let's go. Yeah. Wonder where they're doing they should be because they did the qualifying in northern Nevada. I think it's gonna be down here next year. Yeah, the qualifier.
SPEAKER_04:Well, wasn't it at Spanish?
SPEAKER_05:Oh, that was last year. That was two years ago, two years ago, yeah. So yeah, I'll have to I'll have to find out. But yeah, I mean, I don't know. It's I don't agree.
SPEAKER_06:No, I think I think what I think it's once you cross that threshold, like no coming back. You you pass the point and no return.
SPEAKER_05:So you so you're saying once you say you're a pro golfer and now you're being potentially paid for winnings, that's it. Uh like regardless of whether you're a corn fairy or just a local tour guy or a PGA tour guy, is it that straight a line or you're not an am.
SPEAKER_06:You experience pro golf, like but what level are you talking about, Joe?
SPEAKER_04:Like making it to the PGA tour or mini tour grinding and not making it?
SPEAKER_06:Dan's the best at this because he's been there before, yeah. He's been there, but I I think it's like I think it's when you make it to the big leagues, right? You made it to the big leagues. Are you gonna go down to triple A once you retire? I mean, PGA tour is the big leagues.
SPEAKER_03:Crash Davis did it.
SPEAKER_06:Maybe he can go to Corn Ferry. Like, I think nobody would have an issue with Colt Nose going to Corn Ferry if he wanted to grind it out because pro golf is a fucking grind. I think he's trying to cash in, he's trying to cash in on his skills with uh beating players like you guys, but it is a grind, it is a grind, but you also gotta you also gotta remember skills diminish, okay?
SPEAKER_02:And there's um you look if you if you look at every other sport, once your skills diminish, where do you go? Look, let's take baseball for example, okay. If you if if you go if you go on a baseball team and you struggle and there's somebody who gets better, what happens to you? You go down to the fucking minors, okay? You get demoted. It happens in in professional sports, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:Okay.
SPEAKER_02:Now, granted, we are talking about Colt Nost here, who is yeah, PGA tour winner. He's a he's a PGA tour winner. He had a little bit of success on the PGA tour, but let's be real. Do any of us know what event Colt Nost won? No, we don't. He's not that guy. No, he got lucky for four days and probably a tournament that there was nobody else playing in. And not to take away from him winning a PGA tour event, but let's be real, there's some events out there that nobody gives a fuck about that people win that nobody remembers. Okay. And that probably was one of his victories. So for me, I don't give two shits whether he goes down to amateur status or not because he's been doing sideline reporting on the PGA tour and all this shit for the last what five, six years now. Granted, he's still playing, has still has still some has some skill set still, but the top amateur golfers in the world, I guarantee you, have been playing more golf than Colt Most has.
SPEAKER_04:That's true, yeah. Absolutely. And here's some stat guy stuff for you. Go ahead, Dan.
SPEAKER_02:Let's finish. Go ahead. Okay, real quick. But another thing is yes, there is a little bit of a difference between the top amateurs in the world and PGA tour players, but again, we're talking about cult most here. This is not a guy that you always saw on the first page, a guy that was always contending every year. This is not a full time. You know, yeah, there are some amateurs out there that will fucking wax Colt Most every fucking day of the week.
SPEAKER_05:Absolutely. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:So quitchin.
SPEAKER_05:I don't know if it's all about Colt, though.
SPEAKER_02:It's not it's definitely it's definitely not all about Colt, but just a headliner. Yeah, but again, these are guys, these are guys that still aren't page turners that are going back to amateur status. These guys are beatable, these guys are in the twilights and back nines of their career. Go out and beat them, fuck them. Who cares what they've where they've been from? You want to make a name for yourself? Play better. Play better, go win.
SPEAKER_04:So Colt Nose did not win any PGA tour events. Well, there's win twice in the Corn Ferry Tour, the 2008 Fort Smith Classic, and the 2008 Price Cutter Charity Championship. See, you never would have guessed that. I had to give you guys a million dollars.
SPEAKER_05:He did beat he did beat Webb Simpson in that second one.
SPEAKER_06:It did. I used to chop up Price Cutter all the time. I used to get all my corn pops at Price Cutter.
SPEAKER_04:Third at the 2016 Players Championship was his best finish on the tour. So we got a big chunk of change for that one.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I mean, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:I mean, I get I I get Dan's point.
SPEAKER_02:Instead of crying about it, go beat him. Fuck it. Play better.
SPEAKER_06:And that's a killer mentality. Play better, go beat him. That's why Dan's gonna win next year's US Open. I can't wait for it. Let's go.
SPEAKER_05:Where's next year? Is it uh where's next year's? No, it's in New York.
SPEAKER_02:Um forget Joe. I'm gonna win this shit as an amateur, too.
SPEAKER_07:Yeah, I don't want that five million.
SPEAKER_06:No, no, keep it. I want I want the I want the make a donation in my name to liquidity.
SPEAKER_02:Dan wants the legend. Give me that fucking wanamaker.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, Will Smith's gonna produce a movie about you. There we do that's forward thinking, right there. That is forward thinking. That's forward thinking. Oh anything else?
SPEAKER_04:Any other hot topics? There's it's just it's kind of a dead time in the golf world, not a whole lot going on. I thought somebody was clowning the TGL because they were doing like week two matchup predictions. It's like is this what we're really doing right now? Week two matchup predictions for TGL.
SPEAKER_05:Definitely a dead time in golf. Yeah, it's the Black Desert this week.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, is that this week?
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, you know, oh, they're all up in it.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, they're all up in Utah.
SPEAKER_05:Yep. Yeah, I've heard multiple people saying this is the best, one of the best golf courses on tour, like as far as views and everything goes. Oh, it is this is the top.
SPEAKER_02:It is. I mean, we've all we can all attest to it. Yeah, it is beautiful golf course. Where can't wait to go up there when it's all done? Where else, besides like Hawaii, do you get the black volcanic rock and then the just beautiful green fairway contrasting against each other?
SPEAKER_06:Not much in Hawaii anymore.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, you're doing good in Hawaii now. Did you hear that the their another full 18 course got approved for Black Desert?
SPEAKER_06:No, I didn't hear that. I mean, I did not hear that, but I heard 54 holes at Black Desert are coming.
SPEAKER_04:So yeah, they uh that's gonna be in the dunes area now. It's gonna be a dunes course. GMK so they will have uh and they're and what was the holy mole. Oh, the uh uh sand hollow is gonna complete the other nine holes on the Lynx course, so they'll have 36.
SPEAKER_05:Have they announced who the architect is at Black Desert?
SPEAKER_04:I have not heard, have not heard, dude.
SPEAKER_05:That could be exciting with the way it's taken off. There could be someone interesting.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, that could be that's a spot where you could go and just chill for three days at the resort there.
SPEAKER_06:Yep, dude, and and right around the corner, there's some fucking banging ass ice cream, too. Always good ice cream in St. George, and great sugar cookies, too. The sugar cookies in Utah, the sugar cookies from where? It's because they're made by polygamists. Have you never had a sugar cookie from Utah?
SPEAKER_02:I don't think I'll have it.
SPEAKER_06:They're unbelievable. Yeah, they're so sweet.
SPEAKER_04:I didn't even know that was a thing, dude. Your teeth will ache. Dude, the ice cream is insanely good. Yeah, it's good. Well, I really yes. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, okay. Well fucking was gonna use it.
SPEAKER_04:Jeremy, what's the name of that big spot after Cedar City that's on the side of the road?
SPEAKER_05:Oh, the beaver dairy. It's like a dairy, yeah. It's like a huge dairy. The creamery.
SPEAKER_04:Oh my god. Really? It was heavenly.
SPEAKER_06:It's so good. Utah does sugar cookies and ice cream correct, and jello, jello salad, cream cut with a meal. And they build incredible golf courses, they do, and they've got some incredible true crime dramas.
SPEAKER_05:Look at this country club, and people, and people, yeah, yes, and people that escaped, that escaped, that escape.
SPEAKER_04:We love you, Utah. We love you. Oh, yeah. Uh hey, shout out Zach for this comment. I'm so happy I found this podcast, guys. This is really informative. Zach, please do us a favor. If you go to iTunes or YouTube or anywhere you can leave a review for us, please do so. Those that's Bubba.
SPEAKER_00:Bubba. That's Bubba for the win.
SPEAKER_06:Oh, that's Bubba for the win. I don't know real names.
unknown:Sorry.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, there are tournaments coming to revere in February.
SPEAKER_03:Well, I know that now. I didn't know that was that.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah. I don't I don't think Zach is a golfer. He he loves golf for sure.
SPEAKER_05:Nice. So you also I watched uh I don't watch a I haven't been watching YouTube golf lately, but I saw Peter Finch's video today of the new Trump course in Aberdeen, Scotland.
SPEAKER_07:Supposed to be shit.
SPEAKER_05:The new course, you gotta check that. Yeah, that place is unbelievable. So yeah, I'll send you guys a link to that, but wow.
SPEAKER_06:Hey, while while we're at it on uh YouTube golf, let's give uh the golf fathers a little love. They have the anyone can get it, Rocky and Nick. That'll end the video's blowing up. It's blowing up. Yeah, so go check it out. Yeah, Ben Haddon and uh Mason Hunt. Mason, yeah. Mason Mason Hunt.
SPEAKER_04:I've been to Utah bunch and did not know this. See, see, and come for the golf, stay for the sugar cookies and ice cream.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know that shit either. I'm I'm just I'm an hour south. Yep. Sugar cookies and ice cream, dude.
SPEAKER_05:The best speaking of sugar cookies, if you want to dude, if you want to, if you're in St. George, you gotta go visit the polygamous towns. Holy shit, dude. It's like going back to like the 1800s, Colorado City. Man, if you go in there, you're gonna get followed around by a bunch of trucks, but just stop at the little convenience store that you're doing. Followed, oh yeah, they'll they'll they'll watch a porch like this. Like oh, yeah, pretty much. The bullet from around here, the cookies in the shops there, unbelievable. Banging.
SPEAKER_02:Wear a shirt that says I'm just here for cookies and ice cream.
SPEAKER_06:Yep, it's literally just butter and sugar, dude. It's butter and sugar, so good. Does it have butter and sugar in it? Yes, maybe a sprinkle of flour, dude. Utah has the best sugar cookies, no doubt.
SPEAKER_02:Bro, you guys are blowing my mind right now.
SPEAKER_06:I didn't know this was a thing, and they got a lot of creameries. I didn't know they had that many cows. The ice cream in Utah is I don't know if I do cookies that bad though.
SPEAKER_02:For real, though. Yeah, fucking people following me.
SPEAKER_01:What's really in these cookies?
SPEAKER_06:You get your cookies and you get a lot of sugar, and they got the pink frosting on them, too. Don't turn around, don't turn around.
SPEAKER_04:I'm watching you. All right. Uh, I do uh an apology to quest for par. Your landmat hat is still sitting in my garage. Um, that that will get shipped out. It's on me, it's on me. Overdue, David, David, boot this man. That is that is all on me, but in my defense, I've been really busy and I'm sorry, but I have to go to a UPS store tomorrow to pick up my new phone. Nice.
SPEAKER_06:I would have said I have to go to David UPS store tomorrow to ship your hat, not well.
SPEAKER_04:I'm that's yeah, that's what I'm saying. I have to go there tomorrow, so it'll be going out.
SPEAKER_05:I should have just shipped it myself.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, you probably should have.
SPEAKER_06:I should yeah, that's that's my just drop it here. I'm shipping, I've shipped uh almost 2,000 things out of my garage. I can ship things well.
SPEAKER_04:That's that's your business. I don't ship stuff, okay?
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, well, drop it here, and then you can let the business work. Yeah, and then my yeah, there we go. I got boxes, I got packages, I got bubble wrappers.
SPEAKER_04:I got yeah, that's I don't have a box, that's my problem. I cleaned all my boxes.
SPEAKER_06:Travel down the hill, travel that's so close to you, drop it off when you're on your way to the aces game. Shout out the aces champions. Let's go. No, we're not gonna get deep into that, but no, that's the shipper on whatnot.
SPEAKER_04:All right, so hey my dog, let's go. I truly apologize. But it is not lost in the mail, it just hasn't made it to the mailbox yet.
SPEAKER_06:So, did we run a giveaway for this show or no?
SPEAKER_04:I I have it running, I could stop it now. You want me to stop it?
SPEAKER_06:Do you guys want a giveaway? You want to throw your your your joints in the chat? We don't know what we're giving away, but if you want in and you haven't commented, better throw them in now.
SPEAKER_02:I can give away. I got I got like a dozen pro v1s, somebody could have.
SPEAKER_06:Oh, that might be a little steep, guys.
SPEAKER_01:That's that's you know that might be a little what is it? Just a dozen pro v1s. Just a dozen pro v1s, that's all.
SPEAKER_05:That's uh yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Let's share the screen. Ben, what's your name? His name is Ben. It says right there, B-E-N. All right, I don't know.
SPEAKER_06:I see so many it's crazy. Here we go. Drawn it. Oh, already drawn.
unknown:Oh, oh.
SPEAKER_01:Thanks, Dan. Thanks, Dan. We'd get a sleeve.
SPEAKER_07:Oh boy.
SPEAKER_06:He doesn't play probies. He doesn't play pro boy, don't need nothing.
SPEAKER_04:Sorry, boy.
SPEAKER_06:I got some chrome sops for you, boy.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, sorry, you know us. You're gonna get fucked forever.
SPEAKER_06:There we go. T Lou.
SPEAKER_02:There you go. T Lou.
SPEAKER_06:T Lou. Tou got you, dog. You know who that is, Joe? Yeah, she does. Okay. I'll message him. All right, all right. Yeah, that's T Lou.
SPEAKER_05:Matt'll ship that out in about two months. Got you.
SPEAKER_04:Uh, let's go. There we go. My apologies. You know. It happens. It happens. What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_06:Hey guys, also if you're here tuning in and you enjoyed the show, when it comes out tomorrow, send it out to other people. What what episode is this? 348. 348. How crazy is that? We've been doing things for what seven years almost?
SPEAKER_03:Almost, yeah.
SPEAKER_05:I had that all written down somewhere. And how many have we missed? We've missed like 10 in like seven years.
SPEAKER_04:I think I think only like three to be honest.
SPEAKER_05:Last week was like the fourth.
SPEAKER_01:I missed a bunch.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yeah. You weren't around.
SPEAKER_05:Yeah, I've missed some too, but like the show has gone on.
SPEAKER_04:Oh yeah. We're always we're always finding something to talk about. Always something to talk about. And hopefully. Listen again on Spotify going to work. Nice. Thank you, sir. There you go. Very much appreciate.
SPEAKER_06:Also, the live the live shows are always available on YouTube if you want to watch the video version or Apple.
SPEAKER_04:And it's as soon as we're done here.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, it'll be up. Um share it with share it with people you think would benefit from it. We love golf. All four of us. We play golf all the time together. We are uh true golf people, and if you love golf, then share it to golf people you love.
SPEAKER_04:Let me let me see if this let me see if oh, it's going slow. I was gonna share something. I I I'm trying to do something to attract more eyes to us on Instagram, or not on Instagram, but on uh um what do you call it? Uh iTunes. Are you gonna post pictures of Jeremy's feet? No, not again. Oh, it didn't pop up. Hang on a second. Oh, I was like shit. Blunder away while I find this thousand followers right there.
SPEAKER_06:What are what what are we talking about? What's going on?
SPEAKER_04:I'm trying. I I want to blunder. I I want to come up with a new um not logo, but just a new uh I don't know what the hell the thumbnail. There we go. Sorry, god thumbnail, a new thumbnail on iTunes that when people see it, they go, Whoa, what the hell is that? Um so I came up with something. I was gonna show it to you guys and see if if you if you write it. Gotcha. Ghost screenshot. Um thumbnail right there. Joe's thumbnail. I love it. Oh that is epic.
SPEAKER_02:I promise it's gonna close.
SPEAKER_06:All right. What do you think of that? Uh that's yeah, I like it. Yellow ball gang. Shut up the YBGs. It's a yellow ball gang.
SPEAKER_04:And it's it's got it's got the ball in it. You can kind of see it. It's it's it has a gulf. I would never play it.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, it is no, that's just a that's just that looks like that looks like a limited flight range ball to me.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, it's definitely that maybe we'll put a double black stripe going across it to make it look like a range ball.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, yeah, do that, yeah. Do that, but you gotta do it uh left. You put it with a big old scuff off right corner, yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Going across this way, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:I like that, yeah. I like that.
SPEAKER_04:So I think that it just that would pop and just I don't know, we'll see. There's gotta be something that gets our I love that one, gets our uh, you know, a little bit a little bit more attention, make people go, ooh, what is that? So I mean wrong, I love our logo. I love absolutely love our logo, which is this right here.
SPEAKER_06:That yeah, but it doesn't bring people in.
SPEAKER_04:No, it doesn't, and that's that's sad. Because the shirt it looks great on a t-shirt. It looks really good on a t-shirt.
SPEAKER_06:Share the shit out. It's it can be simple. The logo is a little bit more than a little bit. I will I will update that the thumbnail can be simple. That would be fun.
SPEAKER_04:Gang signs. Uh all right. Anything else?
unknown:Blood.
SPEAKER_06:Blood.
SPEAKER_04:What are you doing?
SPEAKER_06:Oh, Jeremy got it right away. Dude, I am he's deep in the red, bro. Oh, damn. Holy shit. Wow.
SPEAKER_04:Past life. My fingers can do that. This this is my gang sign right here.
SPEAKER_01:You ball, you ball?
SPEAKER_05:What's the index? We're the only golf podcast that is flashing gang signs on 2. You only find that here.
SPEAKER_04:That's what we need to do. We'll start a trend next time we're we're you're like you're in the grocery store, you're in the mall, you're out and about, and you see somebody wearing a golf hat or a tiless hat or something.
SPEAKER_05:Just yeah, you gotta throw the CDP. We should probably make a sign.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, we should throw, we should make our own little CDP so just go around golf courses. CdP. Like, whoa, damn set. Let's go to golf or CDP up in this click.
SPEAKER_06:Ben, oh shut up, Ben. Ben, I don't even know. I don't know what your name is on Instagram or on whatnot, but my daughter is a hit and greens fan. She has several ball markers. Great show, guys. Keep them too.
SPEAKER_05:You got you got do you have any more kids' shirts left? You gotta send one now.
SPEAKER_06:Um, I do not, but Ben, thank you so much. Um that's fucking cool, dude. That's cool. Um, I do not um I'm working on some things. I'm gonna do some more towels, I'm gonna do some more of the I'm gonna do some of these hats. I do want to do kids' shirts, but uh, there's not a lot of kids out there that repping hitting greens. Uh, I've made a couple for my son. Uh oh, Mr. Bubba Nut. Appreciate you, Ben. Um, yeah, I wanted to do more, but it it's obviously hard because you know, life and all that. But uh we'll get there. We'll get there one day, hopefully.
SPEAKER_04:We need to get Joe back on the golf course first. I know, right? I gotta play golf. Let his creative juices come back. It's it's your your tank's a little empty right now.
SPEAKER_06:Absolutely, absolutely. Um, but my hotel is under renovation, so um, I'm gonna be taking some fucking days off. I'll tell you that much because there's not much happening, and uh, we're gonna be playing some golf.
SPEAKER_02:I got things uh three weeks of work left. Or 6 a.m. windy tea time is coming back, Joe.
SPEAKER_06:Let's fucking go. If as long as as long as my wife can take the kids to school, yep. Oh yeah, uh my 10 a.m. tea times, nine a.m. tea times, but yes, I do need to get it back out there because I definitely don't know how to play golf anymore, but I enjoy it every time, even when I don't know how to play.
SPEAKER_04:But um did you see the video going around of the look at this guy just cutting me off on my head? Yeah, I don't know. Sorry, it made me think about this because you're saying how much you enjoyed and you love being out there, and I know we all think that way, but the they were interviewing the creators and they're asking them uh if you could rate golf on a scale of one to ten on a fun scale, what would it be? And like everybody was saying five, four, five, zeros, fives, fives, fives. And I'm like, I I mean, even on a bad day, I'm having a blast. Yeah, because I'm I'm out.
SPEAKER_02:Creators were saying this, yeah. It's probably because they got a million fucking cameras and they gotta wait for camera guys to get in certain positions and do all this shit, and they just can't go out and free up and play golf, it's just not fun.
SPEAKER_06:Okay, let me leave you with an analogy, right? That me and my me and my friend Ryan came up with a long time ago, right? If you're a cyclist, right?
SPEAKER_04:I knew you were going to the cyclist.
SPEAKER_06:If you enjoy riding a bike, right, you can go in your garage, grab your bike, and ride your bike all the time. You can go in the dark, you can you can drive your butt, you can ride your bike all the time. If you're a cyclist, if you're a golfer, you have to wait for the time, you have to book a time, you have to go in the daylight, you have to do this, you have to wait for the pins to get set, whatever it is. Um, we don't get to do this, we don't get to play golf all the time. So for me, it's when you get the opportunity, and I'm really realizing this even more now because I haven't played golf in three weeks. And uh for those that have been on the Chasing Daylight podcast journey, there was a time where I never missed a weekend. I never missed uh uh there was two couple times, right? But uh yeah, it's uh it's always a blessing and an opportunity to play because it's the game that we enjoy playing and it's our stress reliever, it's our moment of uh clarity, our moment of and don't cloud it with oh, I missed the birdie putt there, I missed this, that there. It's enjoy the moment, always, and uh I hope to get more of those situations soon because it's been a long time since I've played. A bad day on the golf course is better than a great day at work 100%, hands down, always enjoy the moment, and uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know, unless that bad day at golf is you know, you lose like a thousand dollars and you go to work, you can make like 1500.
SPEAKER_06:I would argue that's incorrect, but uh no, I mean solid comeback. We all we don't always get what we want to do all the time, and uh when we get to do what we want, I fucking enjoy that shit.
SPEAKER_04:That's why I have a putting green in the backyard, why I have a build shop in the garage, why I got a hitting net in the back because I love it so much and I can't stand it that I can only go do this on certain specific times. So now I've created a world where I can do this when I want to, yeah, but it's still not the same as being out on the golf course. No, absolutely like the equivalent of you know, riding a Peloton, it's not riding a bike, it's not. Yeah, I mean that's hilarious. There are golf bars scattered across a few cornfields are in my parts, guys.
SPEAKER_06:It's a it's a stress reliever, it is a mental clarity, it is a a moment to find yourself, and I highly recommend doing it as much as you possibly can. Don't get too infatuated with it because then you'll start a podcast and you'll be 350 episodes deep, but it is still amazing.
SPEAKER_04:Coming up, yeah, and it's it's been eight days since you played golf, Joe. No, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06:It feels like 36. He said three weeks, it's been three weeks, it's been eight days. No way, it's been eight days. No way last Sunday, that was last Sunday. Legacy, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:That was last Sunday. That was eight days ago. Three weeks.
SPEAKER_06:Okay, guys, do chill out. Lab golf is not gonna fix your butting. Again, lab golf is not gonna fix your butting.
SPEAKER_02:Do we need to talk to Katie? Driver, do you need you need a bro date? Yeah, he needs a he needs a boy strip, he needs a he needs a quick 48-hour banner trip.
SPEAKER_06:You guys need to throw a blindfold out over me and just like just come kidnap you, kid, yeah, kidnap you.
SPEAKER_04:If you ever find yourself in Maui, let's catch a round. Hey, give us some insights. Heard anything about what's going on with Kapalua, Daniel.
SPEAKER_02:A great name, by the way. Got paint. Yeah, dude. He be fucking shh spray out of that shit.
SPEAKER_06:No, man, I can't wait for landman though. I will tell you that much. I can't wait for I I am I'm more excited for Dan to see Landman than I am to go back to Landman. Yeah, same. I want to play I also haven't told Katie yet, but we're good, we're good, we're good.
SPEAKER_04:Uh uh, we haven't played farm since Landman. That's sad. That's right. Yeah, yeah. We need to well.
SPEAKER_06:We need to create a clickable link on the podcast.
SPEAKER_04:For subscribers only.
SPEAKER_06:For subscribers only, there we go. Um, yeah, because it's a great putting game. We should make a video about it. Super corny. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Is there a way you can translate you can take farm from the putting green to the golf course? No. Come on, that was quick. You gotta think this through.
SPEAKER_06:No, it's a putting game. It's a putting game. It's a putting game.
SPEAKER_04:Because you have because everybody, I mean, maybe in a scramble, you could uh, you know, a scramble you could do whoever gets the closest on an approach shot, you know, the furthest away gets a letter. Yeah. Maybe it's potty maybe onto something there, Dan. We should it's a putting game.
SPEAKER_02:We can make a tweak thing here or there.
SPEAKER_04:I'm sure there's a way. I'm sure there's a way. Yeah, I'm sure there's a way. They haven't announced a place. That tournament, that tournament is two months away, if you think about it. Yeah, you know, it's coming to Vegas. That tournament's toast.
SPEAKER_06:Yeah, it's gone. Gone.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I mean, they're still gonna have it, they just don't, they can't have it at Kapalua, but I'm shocked that they haven't announced where it's gonna be yet.
SPEAKER_06:Well, that you got Kapalua, then you got Sony, so it's like well, and it's gonna be in Hawaii.
SPEAKER_04:It's gonna be at where my guess is where like the Mitsubishi Championship for the champions tour plays on Kona. I think that's probably where that'll go. I'm gonna guess it's gonna be in California.
SPEAKER_05:Really?
SPEAKER_04:I don't know where, but yeah, that's make them go California, Hawaii, California.
SPEAKER_05:Yep, yeah. Because some of the players that play in Century don't even go to the second Hawaii event, most of them.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, elevated and they have to. That's the only reason they go. But I mean, otherwise they wouldn't even go to that.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, they should go to like Olympic Club or something. That would be sick. Tour quality course, so they don't have to play another tour stop at it this year. Pasa tiempo. Yeah, they can go to Pasa Tiempo.
SPEAKER_05:How long is Pasa Tiempo? Do you know?
SPEAKER_02:Uh not off a hand.
SPEAKER_05:Is it over seven? But I mean, what's it's close to it?
SPEAKER_02:It's close to it.
SPEAKER_05:But the greens are the defense there, right?
SPEAKER_02:Fuck yes, they are.
SPEAKER_03:I would love to see that. Yeah, that would be awesome.
SPEAKER_04:We've let we've lost Joe. He's gone. He checked out. Let's go grab another beer. Ah, another beer.
SPEAKER_07:65.
SPEAKER_04:So yeah, all right. I I am on the liquid death bandwagon. Uh is that the root beer? This is the root beer. Very root beer-y.
SPEAKER_05:Don't they make a dr pepper-y one? They do.
SPEAKER_02:They make a dr pepper, a root beer, and a killer cola.
SPEAKER_04:I'll have to try the killer cola next. But uh was on sale, Albertans. Thank you very much. Got those, and I got a couple of those Arnold Palmer teas, those are good.
SPEAKER_02:You should try the blueberry one too. The blueberry tea is good. Blueberry. Blue, blue, blue, blueberry. Blueberry's good, the peach one's good.
SPEAKER_04:Uh, so yeah, liquid death. If you want to get in touch with us and uh, you know, be an official sponsor of the Chase Daily Podcast, we will more than likely say yes. Gonna let Joe wrap this up, but he's taking his own sweet time.
SPEAKER_03:Good lord. Welcome back.
SPEAKER_06:Welcome back. I would love to see talking about Kappa Lua and finding a spot. I would love to see the pros play at uh Coyote Springs. First, first spot. I would love to see them play at Coyote Springs, but let's just do a nine-hole tournament at Northwood. Fuck it. Right? I mean, come on now.
SPEAKER_04:Oh that's where they need to have a skins game. That's where they need to have the skins game at.
SPEAKER_06:That would be sick. That would be great. Yeah, also the skins game's coming up.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah. When is that? Do we got a date on that yet?
SPEAKER_06:Friday, it's Black Friday. Black Friday.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, you know what else is that week?
SPEAKER_02:Black beautiful golf courses for Hadley auction.
SPEAKER_04:Hadley, beautiful golf courses. What did you say, Joe?
SPEAKER_06:I said Black Friday.
SPEAKER_04:No, what else is happening?
SPEAKER_06:Black Friday, Black Friday. Black Friday happens that week.
SPEAKER_02:Did you guys play Prairie Club or Prairie Dunes? Prairie Club. Because I think I saw Prairie Dunes in the Fort Hadley auction.
SPEAKER_06:Dude, if we can match that up with a little language, that's too much drive.
SPEAKER_04:Stop it.
SPEAKER_06:Hey, we can do it. No, it's right there. We'll do the right there. It's in Iowa.
SPEAKER_05:I'll drive up. It's in Kansas.
SPEAKER_04:It's in the middle of Kansas.
SPEAKER_05:It's like seven hours. It's in the prairie. It's in the but we'll drive there for sure.
SPEAKER_04:It only crosses seven states in the midwest. That's all.
SPEAKER_06:I am so excited to see Dan see Landman. I can't wait. Don't quit overhyping it up because then no, he he'll be fine, guys. He'll be fine.
SPEAKER_07:Oh all right.
SPEAKER_04:Um, let me throw this back up here, real quick, for everybody. Thank you so much for tuning in to this week's show. As always, Garson Golf is one of our supporters and sponsors. Please make sure to uh use our code Daylight15 when you go and purchase your grips from Garson Golf. Save yourself some money. They are amazing. We love them. It's changing my putting. Well, it hasn't changed my putting. My putting's solidly, but I have a Garson.
SPEAKER_03:And that's why. Dude, that Goodwood. It's special. Special. Shout out, Goodwood. Shout out Goodwood.
SPEAKER_04:Alright, Joe, wrap this shit up. Let's get out of here.
SPEAKER_06:Matt's tired. Jeremy is triple banging Landman. Whoa. Dan Dan's never been to Landman.
SPEAKER_02:I'm not even at first base with Landman.
SPEAKER_06:I've been there once. I've hit a couple greens in my lifetime. I thank you all for tuning in live. Shout out my dog. Payment failed. Got paint. Bubba. Guys, golf is magical.
SPEAKER_04:Give it a thumbs up.
SPEAKER_06:Thumbs up. Share it with your homies. I promise you, golf is the greatest thing that has come into your life. Share it with everybody. We have not. Can I get an Amen? Can I get an Amen? We weren't here last week. But we will for sure be here next week. I think all of you guys from the bottom of my heart truly. My only goal with whatnot has been to grow us for talking about golf. Thank you all for tuning in. Until next week. Bookmark all the shows. Subscribe. Follow all that shit. But uh I hopefully get to see you guys in Vegas in February. And uh until then, get out there, put some greens, chase a day light, go play golf. I promise it will help your entire life. Till then.
