The Chasing Daylight Podcast

351: From Caddies Abroad To VGN Finals

CHASING DAYLIGHT

Send us a text

The night starts with a new vertical stream and a salute to Veterans Day, then we dive straight into golf that spans continents. Trey just spent three weeks in the Philippines and brought back stories you won’t hear on resort brochures: mountain golf in Bagiuo under a passing typhoon, humid greens that refuse to speed up, and a caddie culture where service comes first—your own cart, your own caddie, and sometimes an extra umbrella caddie for good measure. We talk about how to set expectations abroad, why communicating your caddie style matters, and how slow play can drain the value of any round if nobody enforces pace.

Back in Vegas, the nostalgia hits at Las Vegas Country Club while we gear up for the VGN finals at Revere. We trade views vs. vibes, share practice rounds and weather intel, and set goals for two days that will decide bragging rights through winter. Along the way, we unpack the Internet Invitational: underrated talent, wild bets, and the way pressure turns putting brutal. It’s a look at creator golf that respects real skill and still asks smart questions about formats, stakes, and amateur status.

We also unveil our partnership with Gresh Golf Academy, a serious training facility built for improvement, not entertainment. Think Foresight-powered bays, private studios, a legit indoor putting green, chipping space, and a real-sand bunker—plus coaching, junior development, and mobility work. If you’re chasing tighter dispersion and better speed through the cold months, this is where the grind gets measurable.

Hit play for a tour through global golf culture, a local league finale with stakes, and a new home base for year-round practice. Subscribe, drop us a review, and tell a friend where you want to play next—or whether you ride with caddies or go solo on reads.

SPEAKER_00:

What is up in the gram? Well, maybe not yet. We're testing some stuff out tonight. Welcome to the Chasing Daylight Podcast, everybody. We have a special guest with us this evening. If you've been around the podcast for any amounts of years, you'll recognize Trey. Trey is fresh back from his trip to the Philippines. So we will be talking all about that coming up shortly. First and foremost, though.

SPEAKER_05:

First and foremost.

SPEAKER_00:

Foremost. First and foremost. Happy Veterans Day. Yes. Happy Veterans Day to all our veterans. Hats off to you. Uh Trey, uh, I'm sure has some uh some thoughts on the United States after not being in it for three weeks. Yeah, I'm sure. And uh yeah, so we'll we'll get into that. But uh thank you so much for being here tonight. We have uh some new things going on. There was a big update with our software. Uh, we are now able to stream the show in landscape format and portrait format. So if you're on YouTube, you can now see it on your phone in the in the live feeds and uh not have to go directly, you know, and and watch wide. So we're gonna test this out. If everything works tonight, we may be back on Instagram next week. So interesting. We'll see how we'll see how well this goes. But everybody, thank you so much for tuning into this week's show. We got a lot to talk about. Uh my desk is an absolute disaster. It's a double weekend tournament for me, so I it's it's chaos.

SPEAKER_05:

No, it's it's one tournament, it's double day.

SPEAKER_00:

It's two days, so it's double duties. Yeah, everything that I normally do for a tournament, I have to do twice. So it's double duties for me. Uh, but we got training studio, we're gonna talk about that. The internet invitational. Uh, another episode was released today. There's only one left. Uh that's it's been a fun, fun watch. So we'll be talking about that. Uh, I had a fantastic front nine at Rio Sego, so uh we'll maybe get into that. Uh we have a new partner.

SPEAKER_01:

New partner partnerships.

SPEAKER_00:

Partnerships. Uh we have a new partner. Uh Gresh Golf Academy is a new facility in Vegas. Oh, yeah, I wish I wish it was Lady Death, but we're still we're still accepting applications for more partners. Yes. By the way, if if you have not had criminal pebbles in a can.

SPEAKER_03:

Is it sparkling or no?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh I get what you it's like soda. It's soda water.

SPEAKER_03:

It's soda water.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, soda water. All right. Soda water. But it tastes like it's you can see it tastes like fruity pebbles. It's it's fruity pebbles.

SPEAKER_05:

I bet you good with cables. First of all, I got actually I'll try and remember to bring one to you this weekend. I got it.

SPEAKER_03:

Dude, I Joe, I feel like I haven't seen you in a I know, right? In a hot minute, dude. I know, right?

SPEAKER_00:

Uh also especially want to thank uh Garson Golf. Uh, they are a sponsor of the show. We have a discount code that you can use. It is Daylight 15. Uh, please, please use that code. I'll throw it up here on the screen so everybody can see it. Garson Golf, use code Daylight15 to check out, save yourself some money. They have some new summer, new uh fall stuff coming out. Uh, nice little gift box you may have seen going around on the interweb. And uh we'll have some of those. Hopefully, we'll be giving a couple away on the show in the next couple weeks. And then we have our VGN finals this weekend, which uh takes place at Revere Golf Club. Uh Jeremy and I were out there practicing today. Uh, greens are rolling good. Had a couple people send some photos. They got some new sand in the bunkers on seven, which is exciting. And uh it was in piles. So Brad Mark sent me a message. Uh, may have to create a special rule for this. Reached out to Tys, he said it'll all be done by the time weekend comes. So some good things going on out at Revere.

SPEAKER_05:

I will say if anybody is watching new here, because we are now vertical streaming on YouTube. If you're new here, we are a golf c uh podcast based out of Las Vegas. If you have any golf questions, throw them in the chat. We're here to answer questions. Uh, we're gonna throw out a bunch of different varieties of topics, and uh, we're here for you. And these are all of our homies, these are the homies right here, and uh we're gonna talk golf anyway, and that's why we're here. We're gonna do it anyway. Might as well record it and bring it to you and have you ask questions.

SPEAKER_00:

So, how you welcome to the show. Welcome to the show. So, let's see, what do you want to do? We do we want to get into Trey right away, or anything else you guys want to talk about? You know, you know what? Invitational is big buzz.

SPEAKER_03:

I know Trey, you've been watching uh a little bit here and there, not as much as you guys, but just a little bit.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I don't think Jeremy's watched but 10 minutes of it, right?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I mean I've watched, yeah. Like Julian had it on the other day when I went to his house, and that's like all I watched.

SPEAKER_05:

But I watched the new episode today, so like I'm I'm I'm I know what's going on.

SPEAKER_03:

You know, I from the outside looking in just of what I see on like Instagram, TikTok, and you know, whatever Julian mentions to me. Um I feel like may and maybe this is just me, but I feel like people are under have and are underestimating Brad Dolkey.

SPEAKER_00:

Dude has been balling.

SPEAKER_03:

I know, I know he's been playing really well from what I've seen, but like, do people forget that he played in the Masters?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, yeah, like I mean, is that spoiled it for Kevin last week? So thank you.

SPEAKER_03:

You know, is that like not like are we not are people do people I guess people don't know that. I mean, if newer newer-ish golfers that are turning into to that, you know, one, two, three-year-old golfers, but um man, like two he played at Oklahoma, dude is a baller. Like, he just he he just burned out, you know, from the pro game for a few years, then got picked up by good, good, and you know, and now we're here.

SPEAKER_00:

So um, I mean well, Cliff had a great comment on he post. I agree, I agree. Yeah, he's like, of all the stuff that's going on at the internet invitational, I want to play cliff breakers or whatever it's called. Cliffhangers, come on, each other. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Uh so and dude, that even even though it has uh turf t-boxes, it still looks so much fun to play.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, yeah. I will say that that one that one t-box where the waterfall is in front of you looks so good. But then to see them all standing behind a tune, like I was like, damn, that would be so much fun with all like the golf homies.

SPEAKER_03:

Like, oh like we did it, uh like we did at Tory. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah, that was that that was a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, so it's it was a good episode. Uh the there was a lot of I I mean, I don't know if it's the pressure or a lot of the people just aren't you know great golfers, but yeah, the putting the putting was atrocious.

SPEAKER_05:

The putting those putts were breaking, like snapping.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, yeah, and the greens were fast, and they were sustained, but I mean, even since the first episode, like Melosi, I'm stunned at his putting. He is I thought he was a much better putter than that, but I know I'm not a big I mean YouTube golfer. I'm turning into one, I guess, because I'm watching it.

SPEAKER_05:

But yeah, yeah. I I I mean, I think it goes back to our first uh podcast when we talked about this. I think they did a fantastic job putting this whole thing together, and the the formats have been fantastic, the way they all played together and in four groups or four teams of threes, and it was alternate shot. And I think they did a fantastic job laying this entire thing together and just eliminating people by team, and you know, and then you and then you're next you you're going against half of your ex team, and I think it's been I think it's been really good so far.

SPEAKER_00:

All right, Joe, you're a Vegas guy. Are you are you are you taking any of these bets that Portnoy's throwing out there? Are you taking going risking moving on to the next day for$250,000?

SPEAKER_05:

No, no, no. I can't I I mean I mean it a bad bet. Bad bet. You know, there's there's advantages to bets, and if you can find where the advantage is, the advantage is is not taking the bet. So you gotta be you gotta be a skilled player, yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_00:

I would have been one a 90-yard shot, yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

But you could be for 250 grand, or 250 grand. What if you miss the grand you leave? Yeah, on the 19th hole of Payne's Valley, right? Right, right. So they gave the top two teams, right, that advanced to the finals for one million dollars. They'll play against the other two teams and then uh play it outright with the name. Best no. So four teams, you gotta watch it so hard.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I'll I'll I'm gonna tune in now. Like, I'm curious now.

SPEAKER_05:

But uh if they would have walked away with like a guaranteed like 50 or 100 grand, I might have taken that, right? You know what I mean? But it was a bad bet because if they lost, they'd walk away with nothing, nothing, but that's gambling. That's gambling, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

That's the gamble there.

SPEAKER_00:

So I mean you go put you know$500 on black and you lose, they don't go, oh well, here's 10 grand for risking money.

SPEAKER_05:

No, they I I will say if you watched the what was it, the third episode where Bubby Bubbles, if you will, said no, I might have taken that bet because you still have you can win 250 grand, and you still have if you lose, you still have a chance to make it to the finals. But that's a that's a better bet than the bet that was placed on the last show uh episode.

SPEAKER_03:

So my question is, and maybe I'm thinking way too practical about this, but my question is is as a guy that used to play for paychecks, you know, how does this not like how would how would this not count as like relieving amateur status relieving your amateur status to win money playing golf? Yeah, true.

SPEAKER_00:

Some people were talking about that, and I think because of the way the event is set up and I don't know the skins thing. There's loopholes, bro.

SPEAKER_03:

I'm sure I mean there's there's loopholes, I imagine. I like I didn't and I'm not trying to big this have this big debate about it, but like I said, I'm just thinking from the golfers side of things, uh you know, somebody that you know tried to do that and failed miserably. Um you know, I collected some checks playing golf, and you you know, you sign a little tax waiver, and you know, that's that's that. I mean, so I that's is it a quick answer uh from uh that question? No, but there I would just you know if there is a short answer for that without getting in the technicalities about it, you know.

SPEAKER_05:

I I would assume I mean I mean Dave Portnoy potentially uh throws them on barstool payroll and it's a paycheck for them to be in one of their episodes, potentially, you know, like that's that's a good way to look at it.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, yeah, I think that's what they're doing. It's like a it's uh it'll turn into like an appearance fee because they're content creators and it'll exactly that's probably about it because they're not really bound by USGA rules or anything like that.

SPEAKER_03:

That is true. I mean, that that's like I said, it's it's a question that I had and kind of always have had, really. But I'm sure there's a way to work around that, as I'm sure there is, but you know it was fake BS.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, I mean, who knows? That's the thing, you never know what's happening behind the scenes. I mean, you know, who knows?

SPEAKER_00:

Who knows? Yeah, it's right. The only team that may have taken it was Brad's team because they were on fire at that point. They they were, I mean, the five of them downs was ridiculous.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, yeah, nasty. But some of those some of those holes at cliffhangers look absolutely insane. Some of those greens look diabolical. I will admit after I watched it, I was like, I logged on the Big Cedar uh website and was like how how do we go? I'm sure they're gonna be fucking stacked with tea times next summer. Oh, yeah, it is it's gonna be hard. It's a huge it was it's been a huge commercial for Big Cedar, Duncan, you know. All of them, good for them. I think it's pretty pricey to stay there. I mean, yeah, it is.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, Dana, let's let's just be honest with these guys, like they need to come to Michigan with us. Like, let's stop. Oh, I know that. Yeah, I know. Come on, who are you telling? Yeah, because I just remember tonight we were right there next to that par three, and I didn't I didn't even know, you know, I was like, man, we that would have been sweet, but anyway, yeah, I digress. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Do you have to venture venture that way from Nebraska? We could. Uh let's see, it was a cool entertainment and characters of entertainment golf, but it really it wasn't a real tourney. No, not a real tourney. It was made for made for YouTube. It's yeah, it's there to you know, clearly the the way the format was, some of the best players did not make it through. I mean, Grand Horvat, uh Wesley Bryant, uh, Roger Steele, uh, you know, some of the best golfers that were there that played really well. Well, not all of them well.

SPEAKER_05:

Well, that's what I think was so great about the entire thing, how they laid it out. Like, you know, you pick your teams. Like, there's two captains, everybody voted for the captains. They had a draft. It was it was a snake draft, which is uh uh I don't know, we'll see. But uh, I think I think it played out very well. And uh, if you played it strategically, obviously the the the one guy that came out of this super on top. Well, a couple people, but Chaz 100. Chaz is the man, everybody loves Chaz now. Um, Brad, uh, his positivity and optimism of the game has been fantastic, and just you know, we're gonna get the next shot. Don't worry about it. Forget the last shot, forget it, forget it.

SPEAKER_00:

He I think Paige is really upped her status as well because she's kind of gone off the radar as far as a golfer celebrity. You know, she gets a lot of I don't know. I it it bugs me with her, with her, hey, don't look at my tits, all right.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Um, yeah, but with this, I mean, she played some good golf and she kind of took charge and and showed up, showed up.

SPEAKER_05:

So also Peter, Peter Finch, obviously a fucking absolute stick. I mean, you know, didn't he make the cut didn't he make the cut in Europe in the challenge event? Yeah, it sounds familiar, but he's an outplay, and you see every shot, you see every shot. Yeah, yeah, and melosi, melosi, obviously, uh absolute vibe. Like, I would play with melosi all day, you know.

SPEAKER_00:

Like, yeah, just you can tell you're gonna have a fun time, exactly.

SPEAKER_05:

But Chaz Chaz is the biggest winner of this entire thing, yeah. Yeah, shout out Chaz, Chazy.

SPEAKER_00:

Speaking, speaking of YouTube golf celebrities, uh Roger Steele. You tell him, Joe. We tell him.

SPEAKER_05:

Uh did we get it? I don't even know.

SPEAKER_00:

Coming on the show? No.

SPEAKER_05:

We might get there. We might get there.

SPEAKER_00:

Baby steps, baby steps. But uh the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame was this weekend. Uh I was at the I was at the uh uh induction ceremony. Uh they had it at Hyper X Arena at Luxor, which is a really sick venue. Cool. Uh, never been in there before. Uh but they had some auctions, and one of the auctions was a round of golf with uh Las Vegas Golf Hall of Famer Craig Barlow and Las Vegas Country Club member Roger Steele out at Las Vegas Country Club. Very close.

SPEAKER_03:

So uh who's going to play in that?

SPEAKER_00:

It's me and Joe. Joe and I are going. Nice. So uh Saints fan. Yeah, Saints. Oh, hey, so we have we still have to figure out it's uh a it said a date that will be agreed upon, so we have to wait for that. But hopefully after we hang out with Roger and play some golf with him at LVCC, we can get him on the show and talk some golf.

SPEAKER_03:

So very cool. I I it's totally doable, I think. I mean, yeah, I'm pretty sure he seems like the kind of dude after you spend four hours with him on a golf course, would probably say, Hey, like, yeah, let's try to all I gotta say is like you know, you know, my boy who started hitting greens with me, yeah, used to film your videos.

SPEAKER_05:

Like, uh on the podcast, he'll probably be like, Yeah, we got we got links, we got links.

SPEAKER_04:

You're gonna you're gonna show up decked out in trap golf.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh no, don't do that.

SPEAKER_04:

Don't do that.

SPEAKER_00:

I've got all my callaway stuff, so I'm hoping that's I'm hoping that's Roger beef with trap golf, guys.

SPEAKER_05:

You can't do that then. See, that's that's why Matt needs me. That's why Matt needs me.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, yeah. Because I I'd be like, hi Roger. Go talk to Joe.

SPEAKER_05:

You ever heard of tripod quest?

SPEAKER_00:

All right, so Joe, you had you had your little banger hat, right? How about how about that banger right there?

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, ooh, that's a yo G O G Hilton with the Hilton.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, you know what that is, Trey? It's before my time. That's that's Las Vegas National. Oh, nice. Yeah, I'm excited to play there on Thursday. And and that that's Freddie Couple's autograph. Hey, look at that.

SPEAKER_04:

Yeah, is that before Jeffrey hit over the corner?

SPEAKER_00:

This was before. This was after practice.

SPEAKER_04:

Wow.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. So uh, but look at look at how the embroidery Hilton Country Club with a capital R.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, look at the embroidery on that. It's so bad.

SPEAKER_03:

Fucking. So it looks like the 90s.

SPEAKER_00:

It's terrible, terrible. Yeah, yeah. Isn't that hilarious?

SPEAKER_05:

So hey, hey, speaking of the Las Vegas Country Club.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, Joe played there recently.

SPEAKER_05:

I played there last what was it? I don't know. How was it? It was fantastic. That place is immaculate. I want to go so bad. I got to play with um uh Jared Deanda, TJ Hunt, and uh Dundil Will. Dundee Will, who I found out was one of the originators of Carmel Loop, which is absolutely insane. Uh, I used to be on the website all the time back in the day. It's it's absolutely fantastic. Um, the host was great, dude. I wrote rode with him. Um like I always say I always say this. If I was to join a club in town, it would be Las Vegas Country Club. The history, yeah. Um the the par threes are fantastic. It's very flat, very walkable, but um that place is just special, man. Very cool, very, very special place.

SPEAKER_00:

Dude, look at this. Oh, whoops, sorry, here we go. I have two crystal trophies on my bookshelf from LV Invitational. My stepdad played it.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, so sick, dude. I love it. Nice amazing.

SPEAKER_00:

So Joe, Joe, did you do your 20 before the round?

SPEAKER_05:

Uh no, no, no, I did not. I did not. Um, so Will, um, he was the so we found out that Will booked it at the same time I booked it, and and Will was just like, I'm just gonna lock my credit card. So uh we did not get charged. Um, but it was it was it was awesome, man. A hell of a day at Las Vegas uh country club. If you can get out there, highly recommend it. It is so pure. It's those greens were quick, fantastic. Green, like that is uh that's the ultimate jam in town for me when it comes to private courses. It's just filled with nostalgia, history.

SPEAKER_00:

I hadn't been in there in a while either, have you?

SPEAKER_05:

So you hadn't seen it five years, five years probably or so.

SPEAKER_00:

You hadn't seen all the changes to the clubhouse and and everything.

SPEAKER_05:

So four branded bills started making hats, obviously. There was a lot of shit I wanted to try.

SPEAKER_00:

They made a major improvement to that area, so fantastic.

SPEAKER_03:

Look forward to playing there one day.

SPEAKER_00:

You haven't played there yet, Trey?

SPEAKER_03:

No, I have not.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh my goodness you and Jeremy haven't.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh man, we have to get you out. Hey, we know a guy, we know a guy now.

SPEAKER_03:

We know a guy now, so we gotta hold him, we gotta hold him to it, man.

SPEAKER_05:

We actually know a guy now, so yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

This isn't like we know of somebody. We know a guy.

SPEAKER_05:

We know somebody that just joined, that's our guy that we know a guy that's a guy that we actually know.

SPEAKER_00:

So got it, and he's in the VGN, so that doesn't even better, even better. All right, Trey. Yes, what possessed you to leave America for three weeks?

SPEAKER_03:

Um it was better.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, no, it was.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, it was I had it all, man. And so it was kind of surrounded behind my grandmother's birthday and my grandfather's not birthday, it was more of just like family unions. It was almost like two small, two family reunions, definitely not small, is the really the biggest reason I'm there. And and I was there, and then obviously we went to we did some island hopping and you know, Manila, Capital, a couple other cities. And uh the crazy thing is you go that far and you only go for like six or seven days. Like if you're going for a vacation, like Jeremy can attest to it, is it's like you don't go for a week, you're you're flying 20 plus hours to get there. Like that's one full that's pretty much a full day. Then you're only gonna spend five days there and then leave. Like doing that for you know, maybe Scotland in a year and a half or so, or you know, 27 summer. Um, you know, I'll be there for I don't know, seven or eight days, something like that. You know, I'm we're gonna talk to Wood tomorrow about you know figuring stuff out for that. Um, but yeah, that was really the reason I I went for three weeks. Uh I played four rounds of golf.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, it's a long time, dude. That's a long time.

SPEAKER_03:

It was a lot, dude. It was a long time, and honestly, I got I got sleep, but the sleep I had was just so like bad quality. And I I don't mean to sound like that old guy about the sleep and all that, but dude, like I I just I got like it wasn't it was firm as hell, and it just anyway. Then I got sick. It was it wasn't, you know, I'm it's not my bed here in America or even a holiday in for that matter, so yeah, yeah. Um but uh you know, I I ended up I was sick like the last like 10 days I was there with just like some chest cold and stuff. But honestly, dude, it was the best the best non-golf trip I've been on. And really to understand the Filipino culture a lot more, my family and and all that, it was it was so much more than just a standard vacation because I I got to learn more about the Filipino culture, my family's culture, and just everything involved around that. It was amazing. And of course, anytime I go somewhere new like that, I squeeze in golf. I can't. I could have played more. Was that your first time, Trey? Was that your first time? No, like first time since the 90s, so probably almost 30 years now.

SPEAKER_05:

But um but do you remember your first time through picture? Not really, yeah. So there you go. It's like first time.

SPEAKER_03:

First time, yeah. I mean, I was seven or eight years old. So I when I was there, there were a lot of my older cousins and uh aunts and uncles, they remember me because I was a small kid of their, you know, the the the kid of their one of their sisters, and yeah, that's cool, man. You know, so they all recognized me, and then obviously it it was just kind of a shock to them that I was over six feet tall from this little Filipino boy that was there, you know. And um super cool. How was the golf? Such a great trip. So the so the golf is a fun story to tell. And I uh before I dive into it, I will tell you guys that I went there golf-wise with zero expectations. I had looked at some courses on Instagram and stuff like that just to kind of see what I'm dealing with. But at the end of the day, I knew that if I had expectations that were moderate, I knew I I didn't want to be disappointed. So no expectations, so I didn't be disappointed. Well, I was not disappointed. So Bagia was like a 90 minute, uh two hours north of where I was, which is about total about five hours from the capital, north up in the mountain. Cool little mountain town. Um, and there is uh one of their famous courses called Camp John Hay. Well, I I didn't play there. Uh I played at an I played at another one because it was private at once and I couldn't figure out how to make a tea time, and it was kind of weird, so I went somewhere else. Um and it was good rated on Google, had good ratings on Google, so I was like, all right, try it, why not? And in the middle of a typhoon, so it was raining like the whole time. But I dude, I had a blast. It was awesome. It was like 60 degrees, little wind. And so I get there, pull up, drop my bag off, and people told me I was gonna have a caddy, but little did I know that each golfer had their own caddy. Everyone has their own out there, yeah. And they have your own golf cart. And I was like, man, this is an experience. And with the rain, they threw my golf bag in a black trash bag and then put it on the golf cart. Interesting. And it was kind of right. I did. I brought oh you didn't gamers. The only thing I didn't bring with my my Scotty Cameron. I'm I was like, I'm not gonna use rentals, and I'm too picky about that. So um I ended up getting the same uh travel bag that Dan uses now, and it shit worked great. I mean that that thing is like solid, like much more protection than my club glove. Um so we play and get there. I was like, all right, you know, hit a bucket of balls and just enjoy my time. Look at the pro shop, you know, kind of like how I do at every new spot. All this none of that. It was there was no driving range. It was pretty much you pay, you get a drink, right to the first T. Like there was a driving range, but I don't think people use them over there. That's for sure. Not in the four rounds that I played. And this course was relatively ample. There was like six groups on the course, but it was think of I think of it like you guys, most of you guys have been to Washington.

SPEAKER_05:

Um it kind of reminded me of a smaller salish cliffs, or like a smaller, yeah, like a small you said a special word, salish cliffs, like I know, it's like a smaller one, like 6,500 yards.

SPEAKER_03:

But you've been to Gold Mountain, yeah. Had a little bit of the onion rings, had a little bit of gold mountain in it, too. You know, so it was a like I said, mountain course, elevation changes, super fun. And um, so that was the first round. So go back to where we're staying. Second round I play is at this spot called Mimosa. It's in Clark City, outside of where we were staying. And I when I mean that it's like a 12-minute drive. This is where the golf gets interesting. So hang with me if you're still around the crowd that's watching this. So we pull up Mimosa, a lot of Korean money in this area. They're building high rises, three or four casinos. It's a pretty cool little area. Almost like uh it's their version of Summerlin without the homes. And pull up brand new clubhouse, shiny, everything's white and clean. Caddy's standing out out there, grab your bag, take it to behind the the the the clubhouse, and you walk in the clubhouse and it's like 65 degrees in the pro shop and nice and cold. And uh nice pro shop, nice stuff, you know, not a lot to buy, but it's clean. So cool. Grab a drink, sandwich, no range, straight to the first tea. Caddies driving. And this is the one thing I will say, if p places have caddies and I I don't I haven't been to a lot of places that have caddies. More or less.

SPEAKER_05:

Um the caddy golf car would be different out there too though.

SPEAKER_03:

Like they they were. So the golf carts had like a ramp on the back of it for the caddy to stand with the oh shit bar as well. So they could hold on or they could, you know, if when I had a caddy, they drove me around, which was cool. Um so then pull up to the first T, dog leg left, par five, like 580 from the tips, sweet drop going right back up the mountain. Group on the green with four caddies and four players. Group in the group in the fairway, four caddies, four players. Group on the T, another group on the T, and then me with my uncle and my cousin, and then some other random guy. And man, there is no such thing as pace of play, at least at this golf course. I mean, they had marshals driving around, but it was all just like you know, hey, how you doing? Are you having a good time? You know, just the Filipino thing of being super nice. And but I will tell you that golf course was awesome. All four of you guys would love it. It was it was challenging, big greens, lots of trees, um elevation change. It was a resort course, so the greens were slow but in good condition. And uh, I mean it was just humid as all hell.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, I'm sure it was super fucking humid, super, super, super humid. But that's one thing. Like, I mean, like people watching the show, like if you've ever had a caddy, right? The caddies out there are so different. Like usually the poor caddy in the United States or Ireland, I mean, you know, double bag, but you get your own, you get your own body out there, which is that insane.

SPEAKER_03:

The nice the nice thing is the crazy here's the he's in here here's the even crazier part. I played mimosa plus has two golf courses. I played this one I'm talking about now twice, and the other one once. The last time I played, there was a group behind us, and each all four golfers had two caddies, and one of them was just to hold the umbrella. So, but you could. I mean, if you have the money to pay for it, you can they'll do that.

SPEAKER_05:

Do you think right? Curious, uh, a thought. Do you think the caddies were better there, like as far as golf knowledge-wise, that that you've experienced elsewhere? No, they just they were there for convenience.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh, they were there to make sure that you were pretty much having a good time, yeah. You were having your ball, and you know, like for for myself. The first round I played at this place, my uh I was playing with my uncle, and he had his friend caddy for me. And this guy, you know, this is the kind of caddy that has like international clients when they come in country, like he's their caddy kind of person. Yeah, and I mean he would he did it all. He was running back and forth, grabbing clubs, raking bunkers, holding my umbrella for me. You know, do you want anything to drink? Um, because you don't pay for anything when you get there, you pay for your golf, but then when you get all you know how here you're you buy your concessions when you want them, like there you just stack them all up and then you pay for everything at the end of the round, which is yeah, it's like Japan kind of should have it be done here, but um, you know, then I had two I had a young lady, she was like 24 the next time the next two times I played. You know, she was very shy, didn't know, didn't do yardages. They would just kind of keep my rangefinder in their pocket, and I would just do rangefinder every time.

SPEAKER_05:

So also quick second, anybody in the chat, if you've ever had a caddy uh or not, put yes or no. If you ever had a caddy.

SPEAKER_03:

But it was just different, like obviously the caddies in America, like Bandon, Pinehurst, places like that, they'll they're not gonna do that shit. But at the same time, like at Bandon, I paid$150 for the caddy. And here with a tip, probably yeah, not much, uh quarter of it.

SPEAKER_05:

$50,$60, something like that.

SPEAKER_00:

Wow, I'm surprised how many people haven't had a caddy.

SPEAKER_05:

You know, I mean, me personally, I don't I'm not a huge fan of caddies, but that's that was what I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_03:

It's it it's it takes a certain golfer, we'll call it. I mean, I don't mind having a caddy because it takes it takes whatever, not pressure, it takes whatever added.

SPEAKER_05:

Takes whatever I think that's you know weird is like even the guys on tour, like they have a caddy and they've used them for years, and there's like a gelling that's needed. Right. Do you want to play great golf? Like, for me, like I don't care about my score, like I'm gonna I want to experience it and figure it out on my own, and like I want to delve into it and and you know, right, discover the things that I'm facing on my own. And I think that it's like one of those things. If you have a caddy, it's like kind of the one thing this one's got a backstop. I was like, damn, I wanted to see that when I walked up to the green, you know, but that's me.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. No, that makes a lot of sense. And I I think when it comes to that at Pinehurst, and you know, maybe not Bandon.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

When I had a when I had uh I played number two in 2018, had a caddy, and he was an older guy, and I will say I like the older caddies that have been there for 20 or 30 years because they have stories, and a lot of times those stories are light-hearted and funny, so it just kind of keeps everything light and relaxed during the round. Absolutely, yes. And those kind of caddies I like. Now, when I was at when we were at Bandon, and I I use I had a kid caddy for me twice, but he was a good kid. He was you know, he knew the golf course and was a golfer and just had a good attitude, so that was a pretty good one as well. But you know, it all depends on on the mood, you know. I use the caddy and bandicus. Well, I almost broke my bag.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, you need somebody to carry the bag, yeah. I need someone to carry my bag. Um yeah, but I think it all depends on what you want out of it, and like a good caddy, a good caddy will figure that out, right? Like for me, like if my caddy can tell me all the stories about the history of the course and who built it and the architecture and like things like that, like that for me would be like a dope ass caddy. If he only carries my bag, yeah, exactly. And if if he only carries my bag, then I'm like shitty caddy. But you know, it's like it everybody wants something different out of a caddy, and uh for sure. It's super interesting. Like, I want to hear I want to hear the behind the scenes stories personally, right?

SPEAKER_03:

Right, and the one thing too is it all you know like you said, it depends on the situation. Like I've had caddies where like at US Open qualifiers, USAM qualifiers, things like that, and you know, that list of caddies is is short uh of who I would have doing that, and it and so if I'm doing using a caddy for something like that, that's something specific that I'm looking for out of a caddy. Now, yeah, caddies at resorts and resorts, you know, destinations and things, it's very different. And I think it may, you know, may a lot of these places have caddy masters, so I imagine the caddy master says something along the lines of like, like, hey, like these people are spending a lot of money here, like keep things lighthearted and all this kind of shit. Like, I know at Pinehurst they had that shit down to a science. I mean, the caddy was telling me, like, look, we don't put head covers on clubs because it adds an extra like 19 seconds per head cover, take it on, take it off, and all that. So, you know, they're down to a system, but you're right, it's completely situational based on the golfer on what you're looking for. But I will say, in the Philippines, if you've never experienced something like that or any other country in Asia, it is it is awesome, like they and but don't expect sweet golf knowledge and all that, just bring your rangefinder, shoot it, and go. But yeah, you know, the the little things that you know making sure clubs are clean, ball is clean, you know, the shade if you want to use an umbrella and and whatever, you know, it's it was a lot of fun. But yeah, the course Jordy, what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_00:

What's the point there?

SPEAKER_05:

He was talking probably talking about the internet invitational, probably. Oh, or he's going out, or he's going out to uh the Philippines to catch some strange catch some strains or something. I don't know. Who knows?

SPEAKER_03:

But the overall experience, I will say, when it comes to the as you guys know, I'm snobby-ish on my golf courses. Snobby. Um but I went in with no expectations, and and the three golf courses I play were all fantastic in their own way. Sure, I could bitch and moan about the green speed and all that, but you know, whatever. Outside of that, it was just it was so do you think they make a cat because they want to do that? Uh more or less, yes. Probably probably, yeah. Um, and bring in more money as well. Um but I would say overall experience, my first time in the Philippines, awesome. I also heard there were other courses in the area I should have played instead of the the ones I did. So uh I'm looking forward to to going back. We're plans at the end of 2020. Um, and uh, you know, now that I've been there as an adult, now I know what I can experience what to expect next time golf-wise and everything else.

SPEAKER_00:

So he said no caddies giving you reads telling you the spoiler. Um, but that's about to figure those reads out by yourself. I see, I see.

SPEAKER_03:

Hey, I mean that's that's part of becoming a better golfer is great reading greens.

SPEAKER_05:

Um, yeah, well hundred percent. And I mean, uh, you know, if if you take a caddy and uh you gotta that's what I was talking about, gelling, like they don't know your speed, they don't know how you like to drip it in the hole, you bang it in the hole, whatever, and it's like that's one of those things, you know.

SPEAKER_03:

And I think too, you if you're able, like I remember when I the first time I had a caddy, and I was probably a single digit handicap, I was 16 or 17. Let me miss my seven-inch butt, like a but I I told I told the caddy, like, hey, like, let me just kind of do this on my own, club me, tell me some stories. Like, that's if you tell a caddy that at a destination spot, they'll cater to that ideally because they want a nice tip, yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, of course, of course. So I I mean it's like uh it's there for the vibes. Like, I I'll give them like one or two one or two reads. I had a caddy if it don't work, then it don't work.

SPEAKER_00:

I had a caddy at local knowledge, local knowledge, local knowledge is all I had a caddy at Cascada that I said like after his third bad read, I just didn't even let him get my ball anything. I was just lining up my putts and putting while he looked at us in the eyes, it's just like I'm done with you.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, and yeah, to finish off to finish off with golf in the Philippines, I I now know that that October to March time frame in the area that I stayed in, there's a lot of Koreans that come in that area to golf, gamble, and all that kind of stuff. Big Koreans. But let's just say, like, man, it pace of play is not high on their priority list. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

So play fast, and and yeah, you know, I I I see it all over town here too. It's the the pace of play does just it doesn't get enforced as much as it should.

SPEAKER_03:

Do you think that's because we live in Las Vegas?

SPEAKER_00:

No, it's because I think I think people are pissed to to they don't want to have the people get upset at them. It's just avoiding comments. Hey, yeah, these people have paid$200, don't upset them. You know, but it's like you're you're bringing down the value of the round for everybody else by your slow play. So I'm sorry. Step it up, step it up. Like I don't know if you heard last week, Trey. We were at Legacy and a group. Yeah, you told me you told me that and they made a move up, and it was great.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, yeah. I think you're absolutely right on that, and I just think there has to be I don't know if polite's the right word, but there just has to be some I just think people need to be self-aware.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, we've lost we've lost self-awareness in in all of our world, okay. Like, just be fucking self-aware. That's all it comes out.

SPEAKER_03:

It's all it's it's common sense. You just make sure you keep up with the group in front of you. And I mean, come on, if you if you lost two balls on the hole, just pick up and go to the next hole. Who cares?

SPEAKER_05:

Exactly. Yeah, I mean on whatnot anyway, probably.

SPEAKER_00:

So wow, that might be a record.

SPEAKER_05:

Hey, shout out shout out, shout out all the whatnot homies in the chat.

SPEAKER_00:

We're 43 minutes in, and I think that's the first time Joe's mentioned whatnot. That is a record.

SPEAKER_05:

I was holding back. Honored, honored.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, it's uh this right here. Yeah, I've got some cousins that live in Japan, so I want to go to Japan at some point, play golf there, and heard some amazing things about golf in Japan.

SPEAKER_00:

So oh, it's it's China and Japan, it's an all-day thing.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I want to go to that nine-story golf store in Japan.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, where every floor is a different get some of those bokies. What uh what do you do now? Arnold Palmer, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, nice Japanese Arnold Palmer putting disc bag.

SPEAKER_03:

Is that a whatnot? Is that a whatnot purchase?

SPEAKER_05:

That's from Coach Porch, Coach Porch legend. Shout out, Coach Porch. Look at that. I got a Shrix on one down there, it'll be on a show one day.

SPEAKER_03:

Sell any of my shirts in that uh apparel show.

SPEAKER_05:

No, no, no. I no, no, no, not yet. That was uh that was kind of that was hard. That was a test. That was a test.

SPEAKER_03:

Fair enough. Yeah, I mean, so that's that's that was my experience golfing in the Philippines. I recommend everybody go over there, and it's much easier to have a guide if you don't speak the gallop.

SPEAKER_05:

So also, not just Philippines, go get out there and go experience golf in other places that you are not from. Yeah, go to the trip, play golf other places. Yeah, that's the best.

SPEAKER_00:

So check this out. So, this you're gonna start, you're gonna see a little bit about this on my 1440 page. Uh, this is from Awesome Maps. They sent me this. They they do all kinds of different things, but uh, they do golf towels and they do other things. But this is a a world map of all the golf courses in the world, and I didn't realize how big this thing is. I'm gonna back it up a little bit because it's fucking of all the what? Of all the golf courses in the world, not all of them, but like all the predominant golf courses around the world.

SPEAKER_03:

Sweet. Gotta give that to the cliff so they can mark it off. Yeah, all right. Yeah, it's Beth Page on there.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, Beth Page better be on there. I've played there.

SPEAKER_03:

What's the snake? I want to know where that snake is. Or the dragon.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

But it's I'll I'll do a detailed uh post about it so you can see all the stuff. But I mean it's it's pretty crazy how you know how how much detail they they have. Oh, wrong way.

SPEAKER_05:

Uh-oh. You know, they listen to Artisan in the chat. Don't get me started.

SPEAKER_00:

What? Yeah, so shout outs, awesome maps. I'm gonna like I said, this thing is I didn't I thought it was gonna be like the size of a placemat or something. It's like full-on poster, poster. So I gotta get this branded up on the wall.

SPEAKER_04:

Full on wallpaper.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it's massive. They even got Alaska on there.

SPEAKER_03:

Up there. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

So who's talking about Artisan? What did I miss?

SPEAKER_05:

Uh Johnny C just said he's got four vokies he wants to trade for uh 54 bent to 53, 58 artisan. Fort Worth Tech is shout out, Fort Worth. Uh Artisan, yeah. Obviously, Artisan, uh Legends, the oven.

SPEAKER_00:

Sell those shit on whatnot and just go buy him.

SPEAKER_05:

Or you just I mean, yeah, absolutely. It's hard to find them. I mean, and a lot of the guys that know shit are starting to come, so it's not it's not uh it's not like it used to be in the in the wild wild west, but um I want to I want to go down to Fort Worth and just and get fit at Artisan. That's what I want to do. Like if yeah forty first birthday coming up in January, if you guys feel inclined. At uh Patreon.

SPEAKER_03:

$360 a club plus the fitting, and it's all that's what I want. Uh yeah, I mean that's you know, Mike Taylor is uh he's very good at it.

SPEAKER_05:

And then send me down a little closer, you know, hit me up with Don White and uh, you know, give me fit for some irons. That's what I want for my 31st birth 41st birthday. If you guys if you guys want, if you guys feel like national customs, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

I see pricey. We love you, but I don't know if you love you that much.

SPEAKER_05:

Very pricey, very pricey.

SPEAKER_03:

I gotta have it. I'm gonna have to hit one of those 25 leg parlays for that.

SPEAKER_05:

There we go. There we go. Start throwing them in. All right, you're not gonna win if you don't put them in.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, uh, I you saw a post if you follow our Instagram page. You saw I did it recently did a post. Um, I tried to do a live in uh the other day while I was at Gretsch and finding out all these crazy things about going live on YouTube. And uh it's funny, Julian and I were at a Rio and I did a live, it was 12 minutes long, and they cut it to four minutes. No idea why. So I did some research. They basically says, hey, if you have poor quality, they deem it not acceptable for community standards, and they chop it to four minutes. Okay, but then they let 12 minutes of a pixelated video go out at Gretsch. So I was a little confused. I apologize to them, said I'm gonna come back. So yesterday I went down there, recorded another video. Uh, that's on our YouTube page, it's also on Instagram. You can check it out, uh, walk through the whole facility. This place is it's a state-of-the-art facility. It's it's not golf or tamement. This is not atomic golf. This is not top golf. Um, this is not five iron golf. This this is Grind City. This is a golf facility for you to go work on your game. Um, they have a total of 13 bays. Uh, they have nine open air bays, two private bays, a private fitting bay, and a private coaching bay. Plus, they have a huge indoor putting green, an indoor chipping area, and an indoor bunker that has real sand in it. Where is this? Uh, right by the Silverton. It's just one block south of Silverton on Dean Martin. Okay. South side of town. Boom town. Yeah, boomtown. Uh, but I I've been in there. It's it's they have a gym, they have conference rooms, they have a kitchenette. The the two private uh studio bays are awesome. They have massive curved screen, it's very immersive. Uh, it's it's bigger, it's more of a host, uh, an outing is so much if you want to, but uh they're very they're very keen on training. Uh and no, it's not J Bar.

SPEAKER_05:

Far from very different, very different from J Bar.

SPEAKER_00:

There's this is not food, this is not entertainment.

SPEAKER_05:

This is this is a place to go dial your shit in. Yeah. Work and work out.

SPEAKER_00:

They have uh Foresight, uh, is the software that they use. Um, yeah, very cleany boy. They have the Foresight Falcon, which is the overhead. They've there's they have so much software, it's unbelievable. They're gonna have a gym in there with some physio people. So if you want to go work on mobility, they're gonna have that. They have camps, uh, they have all kinds of things, and they have PGA professionals on site. So the how much is all that? There's a couple different options. They have uh there's memberships. Uh, there's also you can just rent a bay, you don't have to be a member, uh, but you can get uh a bay for an hour weekday for 45 bucks. Um, private bays where you can host up to four people, uh, an hour is$85.

SPEAKER_05:

Um, the short area saying that this is the first foresight facility in town.

SPEAKER_00:

I don't know anybody else that's using foresight like everyone, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh J Bar one, or they're using um track man.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, a lot of places use track man or full swing. Yeah, so this is the first all foresight, which I'm a fan of. Julian, I know is a fan of, so we're happy that that's there. And plus, with the new Foresight app, if you have that app and you use it, you can go in and you know log in to the device that you're on and keep all your stats with you. You do your bag fittings, all that stuff. But they've got 1800 courses, they've got the regular uh GS Pro courses, um, but the putting green is outstanding. Uh, and they're really big on junior golf. Uh Tilly Gresh is the founder. She went through the UNLV PGM program. She's a PGA professional, she's a top 50 coach, very keen with the juniors and ladies' golf, uh, and they want to make it a facility where you know they are growing golfers. So it's it's it's a pretty special place. So we have partnered with them, and more details will come as we go out. But we're gonna have a uh a code for listeners of the show. If they want to go check it out, you'll be able to go in, get a bay at a discounted rate for the first time, and check it out. So we'll get eyes and you know, uh golfers in there to check it out. Uh, we're also uh partnering along with the VGN, so VGN members are gonna have exclusive access to certain discounts for the facility. Uh, so we're looking forward to that. We are planning on hosting a winter golf league there. Uh, we're gonna have all the details about that coming out soon. We take a break from you know November to February in the VGN, and a lot of the guys have told me that they'd love to still hang out and play golf. So uh we're working a way to you know have some of those match play events that we really can't have at a golf course because it's too hard to pay full price for you know a nine-hole match play and someone's bounced after five holes. So uh we're gonna be able to do that, and then we're working on trying to have a closest to the pin contest uh for a free membership in the VGN. So you'll be able to go in and say, Hey, I'm here to participate in the VGN closest to the pin contest. Go in, hit your shot, stick around if you want, friend to bay, or you can get out of there. So uh we're really trying to uh get eyes on the facility for them. It's brand new, it is state of the art. Go watch the video.

SPEAKER_05:

It is unlike anything else in Vegas that's not at a private home or you know, it honestly, it honestly feels like a place where if you want to work on your game, that's where you need to go. Not like go play play indoor golf, it's where you go to hone your shit.

SPEAKER_00:

You know, we had uh a comment on Facebook where somebody was complaining about the price. Uh, you know, it's$250 for six hours of play, and you get discounts um on some merch and lessons and stuff like that. And uh he was like, you know, for a hundred dollars less, I can go to RoboGolf and get unlimited play. It's like, okay, you know, but take it, take a step back and see what this place is offering. It's not all about being able to go every single day. There's other things there to help you with your game. Now, if you want to just go every day and pound balls for an hour, there's tons of places like that in town.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_00:

Tons of places like that in town, um, to where you can get a lot more value. That this isn't you're not looking for value to be able to go in and hit balls whenever you want. This is the value is the facility, the software, the people, and what you can do while you're there. So uh it's a little bit different, and it's gonna take you know, you're gonna have to go in and experience check it out.

SPEAKER_05:

So yeah, yeah. I mean, the only facility in Vegas that I know of that has real sand bunker practice area indoors. So it's getting cold, guys. It's getting cold. It's getting cold, chilly, yeah. And and the and the the putty green looks sick, so yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

And if you win, I hope I'm I'm hope I'm there when somebody just absolutely skulls it into the wall. No, they they have it already ready. There's nets around.

SPEAKER_00:

They got nets and the glasses, polycarbonate, so fair enough. The gripmaster roo. I hope you're ready for stickiness because that thing is tacky tacky tacky.

SPEAKER_05:

Who's playing that? He's waiting on him. He's waiting on him. It feels like if you guys remember in the 90s when the creepy crawler, like uh little gummy joints, like pulled them off, and they had the cardboard under, and you still touch the cardboard, and it was like that's what those joints feel like. But your hands aren't leaving those grips.

SPEAKER_00:

So no, you don't need a glove either. If you're using on, I mean a putter, you don't use a glove. Well, some people do, but yeah, for the iron grips, yeah, you don't need a you don't need a glove for that. Yeah, all right. So that knocks off Gretsch. Uh let's let's get into the VGN finals a little bit. Uh it's coming up this weekend. Uh, if you're not following the Vegas Golf Network on our social pages, Joe said it a couple weeks ago at our Aliante event. I will put the link to the leaderboard up. So if anybody wants to follow along to check out, see how uh Trey, Dan, Jeremy, Joe, myself we're all playing in it. Hey, collectively, this is like the most VGN wins we've ever had on the screen. I mean, I mean, yeah, there's a lot of VGN wins right here. I mean, one person has way more than anybody else, but but hey, so look, here's here's what uh Dan and Trey and Jeremy are fighting for right here. This is the trophy, the player of the year award. Uh, and that's that is engraved in there. Thank you, Joel, from Atomic Golf. These are fantastic, and it's Joel's the man.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, Joel is the man. Go go check out atomic golf. Go check out atomic golf on Instagram. Killer ball.

SPEAKER_00:

Not the putting range, not the driving range.

SPEAKER_05:

Also, if you guys are check out Vegas Golf Network. Uh, come come hang out. You can check the leaderboard, like Matt said. Uh monthly tournaments. Come be part of the crew. And also, sign up for if you're watching live, you need to throw the thumbs up, subscribe, do all that shit.

SPEAKER_00:

You know how we do is it likes are free, they don't cost a thing.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, like I texted you the other day, Matt, you know, comparing prices to another competitive leading an entity that holds golf tournaments. Um, I was you know, I was shocked. I was like I said, I was thinking about playing and to see how you know I just want to compete, but I'll I'll hold my money for a while. There you go.

SPEAKER_00:

There's some pricey tournaments out there, and so it sucks. It sucks. Well, I've had the same price for membership since we started. You know, it's I have not had a op, I have not needed to raise it, but I think next year it's gonna have to go up. Uh Golf Genius keeps uh up upping the price. You know, when we when we first started using Golf Genius, it was$3,600, it's up to$4,300 now. Damn, that's crazy and nothing has changed.

SPEAKER_05:

Nothing has changed, bro. That's why you got guys just go create a software that works for a lot of people and you'll make money. God, yeah, crazy. Shout out Kevin Cox. Birdie and a Kevin, the homie.

SPEAKER_00:

So we're playing Concord on Saturday. It is uh 8 a.m. shotgun. Oh no, I'm sorry. I got that wrong. I almost did. Check your email. Lexington is on Saturday. I know. Uh eight o'clock shotgun start. Joe, could you repeat that, please?

SPEAKER_05:

Uh 8 a.m. a shotgun start.

SPEAKER_00:

Thank you very much. So I'm covered now, so Joe won't be late.

SPEAKER_05:

Uh and after you, bro, oh fuck. After the round, I also have a revere story if we gotta get into that. But go ahead.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh, after the round, we've got uh buffet for the players uh to come on in, get some food afterwards, hang out, chat it up, talk your shit because the finals the ends the following day on Concord, and then after the round on Concord, we will congregate at Moorhead Grill, have some smash burgers, hand out some trophies, and uh toast the season closed. So uh weather it's gonna be we're gonna we've been fortunate. It's gonna be the worst. I think the worst weather we had all season was the wind in Laughlin. I don't I don't can anybody else think of a a more treacherous weather outing that we had?

SPEAKER_05:

Weather doesn't bother me. Oh, we're gonna we might have rain, okay. Yeah we might have some uh some band than like situation. Situations and you know who's gonna throw those.

SPEAKER_03:

After uh true blue in Caledonia, nothing's gonna happen. Nothing, but I mean, we're good to go.

SPEAKER_00:

So I we we haven't heard from Maddie G in a while. Uh I reached out to him today and uh see where was that at? Where was Matty G at? And I asked him, I said, Hey, can you please take a look at the weather? Um and he said Saturday more than likely scattered showers early and midday. Sunday maybe a few showers early, then drying out for the rest of the day. So Sunday looking pretty good. He said, I'll give you an update throughout the week. It's a weird setup. So funky weather pattern coming in.

SPEAKER_03:

Vegas is a big area, so and so is Henderson. So we'll see.

SPEAKER_00:

Love the atmospheric rivers.

SPEAKER_05:

That's why you gotta be that's why you gotta be optimistic.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, yeah. So gonna have a little bit of adversity to claim your title.

SPEAKER_05:

Let's go. Dan's just in there eyeballing a trophy.

SPEAKER_03:

I like that for me. Look, I we've already had a group chat going between the three of us, so uh it's uh it'll be fun.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, though they're they're gonna be done like in two hours.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, that was that was my next question.

SPEAKER_00:

It all depends on what's in front of you.

SPEAKER_03:

So that's true. I was I was thinking Jeremy said that. I was like, man, it's possible we're gonna finish quite earlier than some of these people.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, you're gonna have to help set up the buffet.

SPEAKER_03:

Get the sternos out, get your ass in there and help. No, it's you you I'll say this ahead of these guys, but man, you do a lot of work for this thing, and uh if no one's ever said it, we appreciate it. So thank you. Yeah, I know you guys do.

SPEAKER_00:

It's a thankless job. I know Joe's never said it. Joe's only only ever complained.

SPEAKER_05:

I've only been targeted for being late when it wasn't my fault. That was it.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it was your fault.

SPEAKER_05:

Your Lu Quan moment.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh no, I I didn't email him. It was my fair enough.

SPEAKER_05:

He left me out. Trey. He emailed another Joe. He emailed Joe Herrera, not me.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. One Joe, same Joe. They're all too many Joes. Too many Joes.

SPEAKER_01:

Ah.

SPEAKER_00:

Or said he didn't get a detailed. Yeah, he said he didn't get the email, but then we listened back to the podcast where I confirmed the start time, and Joe wasn't paying attention because he was looking on whatnot.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, because I'm looking on for the homies on whatnot. Let's go. Yeah. Thank y'all for being here.

SPEAKER_00:

Dan, what's uh what are you shooting? What do you what are you gonna shoot this weekend? Let's um I don't know.

SPEAKER_02:

Probably anywhere from for two days? Two days. Anywhere from four under to ten over. No good. Oh, that's a big gap.

SPEAKER_00:

That's a big gap.

SPEAKER_04:

Jeremy? Hmm. Underpar for two rounds. It's a must.

SPEAKER_00:

It's a must. Gotta in order to catch Dan, yeah. Trey, what are you what are you shooting?

SPEAKER_03:

Well, pretty much it's it's similar to Dan. I mean, it's that you know, five under to five over category that's gonna happen. And uh you know, Jeremy and I are pretty far back in this thing for player of the year, but you know, anything can happen. Anything can happen and still got a tournament to to to win.

SPEAKER_00:

And watch your six the next couple days, Dan.

SPEAKER_04:

I told him I'm gonna take them both out drinking, and I'll be the designated driver.

SPEAKER_00:

You're gonna be driving home, you'll be a black tellurite on your ass.

SPEAKER_02:

I know him, and uh I know Trey and Jeremy are conspiring something.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Well, we'll show up to the first tee like, dude, we got this awesome lake.

SPEAKER_02:

We got these special liquid deaths for you. It might be a good thing that it's uh we're a threesome because I might have to ride by myself on this one. Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh I was gonna say, I'm gonna let these two guys ride by themselves.

SPEAKER_03:

I'll drive by myself. That's what we should do, is just flip it on the you do a rock, paper, scissors on the first T and just see whoever wins gets the solo cart.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh I no, I think I think Trey, I think you're the solo cart because it was by point standings. Fair enough. So that's that's how it came out.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, whether you guys do that, I've ridden with Jeremy every event this year, so that's another one.

SPEAKER_03:

It's been working for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was gonna say it's you can either do that or you're I mean shit. I'd be willing to, you know, you're the you're the big man in front. You can have the solo card if you want it. We'll see.

SPEAKER_00:

We'll see. Yeah, so uh if you're not following Vegas Golf Network, it's simple. Vegas Golf Network, uh, it's on Instagram. Uh, we're signups for the next season are open right now. And I announced this on Instagram the other day, along with 47 typos. If yeah, it was it was it was terrible. Uh typo level master seven here. Uh if you sign up before the end of the year, uh you're gonna be entered into an entry for a free entry into our first tournament. So that takes place at Ranch, yeah, do it. That takes place at Rhodes Ranch on February 22nd, I believe is the date. 21st or 22nd, whatever that Saturday is. Uh so uh whoever right now we have I think 11 people signed up right now. The typo is a great song. It was bad. It was bad.

SPEAKER_05:

Chef, it's always it's always don't let them fool you. It happens every day.

SPEAKER_00:

Every day is awful, horrible, horrible, absolutely awful. And I I'm so bad. Let me see if do I have it where I can show you guys.

SPEAKER_05:

I could I could you got the text message that I send you? I said, Do we own a forest?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it was a forest, yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

Pull up the text message where it's no you said it's a forest, and I said, I didn't know we own a forest. Yeah, I we own a forest.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I know, and I was being sarcastic. I'm like, yeah, Joe, get with the program.

SPEAKER_05:

We're building golf courses, guys. We own forests.

SPEAKER_00:

Let's see. Oh, yeah, here it is, right here. Open this up. So this this is AI did this for me.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, yeah, I saw that. Yeah, there we go.

SPEAKER_00:

He's the best, he's literally the best type of master level eight.

SPEAKER_05:

He's the best, and why is it not ten?

SPEAKER_00:

Maybe there's only eight levels.

SPEAKER_05:

Well, sorry, uh Ron L. Hubbard, but you know, you gotta specify that.

SPEAKER_02:

L Ron Hubbard Ron L Hubbard, that was good though.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh yeah, I make typos. I make typos. The worst, the worst part was somebody told me, so then I tried to fix it and didn't fix one of the typos.

SPEAKER_05:

Typonetics. Typonetics in the house. Let's go.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Ron L. Hubbard with typonetics.

SPEAKER_00:

I I have issues. Shout out St.

SPEAKER_02:

Ives.

SPEAKER_00:

That's why I waved the white flag because it was bad.

SPEAKER_01:

Say Ives. Uh that's what you get.

SPEAKER_00:

But, anyways, if you sign up before the end of the year, you get an opportunity to win a free entry into the tournament. And it's with prices going up, our tournament prices unfortunately are gonna go up. I don't have any control over that. We're still getting the best deals that people will give us, but you know, there's only so much room I have to put these events on. Um, I have Grammarly, but I never use it for social, which is terrible.

SPEAKER_02:

Which makes sense. We know, we know.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. No, as soon as Grammarly became a thing, I'm like, oh, getting that. Uh that's hilarious.

SPEAKER_05:

Shout out, Jordy, my dog.

SPEAKER_00:

Jordy, you gotta come, man. You you're you're dude.

SPEAKER_05:

I think Jordan, I think Jordan could kill it. Jordan, you get you need to sign up, dude.

SPEAKER_00:

SPEAKER_05:

Uh well, I mean, uh, I don't want to say that now. So what? No, I was gonna talk about Revere and Las Vegas Country Club, but we'll hold that. Shout out Done Deal Will. Trey, you know Will? You know Will? No, anyway, so uh Jared was in also we forgot to talk about the golf homie was in town, the homie JP and his homie. We played Boulder Creek, me and Dan with them. That was a fantastic round. Good to see one of the band and homies in Vegas. We got to play golf with them. Um, so I played two rounds in one week, which is absolutely insane. Um, it was good to get out there and just I I literally felt like I was abandoned for a little while, which was awesome. Um but uh Dundee Will um was saying, like, we need to go play Revere, we need to go play Revere. He was telling Jared we need to go play Revere, and I'm like, Revere's cool, bro. Like, and he kept saying views, views. I'm like, yeah, they got the views, but it ain't the country club, it ain't Las Vegas Country Club. Um, and then afterwards he was like, I get it now. So well, when you revere has fire ideas, yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

All the East Coasters is Revere because you get the views.

SPEAKER_05:

You get the views, man.

SPEAKER_03:

It's hard, it's hard to beat. Hard to beat, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh what happened in Cabo? They shot 23 under, yeah, because they're really good at golf.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, dude, they're freaking professional golf. That's they're the best in the world.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean that's gonna happen. That's gonna happen. I mean, freaking Aaron Rye.

SPEAKER_03:

Aaron Rye shot 25 under in Abu Dhabi with a damn M6 M6. Aaron Rye fucking slept on that crazy thing is that that course, and then the one they're playing this week in Dubai. Man, that shit looks so good. Oh my god, I want to go play there.

SPEAKER_03:

SPEAKER_05:

They're all connected, dude.

SPEAKER_03:

You could play really play like it's like it's like 15 days, 18 holes a day.

SPEAKER_05:

SPEAKER_03:

SPEAKER_05:

SPEAKER_02:
