The Chasing Daylight Podcast: Golf Talk, PGA Tour & Gear

355: A Putting Reality Check & The Bandon Solstice Experience

Mathew Wangrycht & Joe Keith Episode 355

Send us a text

In Episode 355, the guys dive into a massive gear and instruction download. Matt shares the details of his recent in-person putting lesson with highly regarded coach Preston Combs. From realizing he was trying to "hit an 8-iron 160 yards" with his putter to fixing his posture and tempo, Matt gets a "snap of reality" about his flat-stick game.

The conversation then shifts to bucket list golf, as the guys reminisce about the Bandon Dunes Solstice—walking 85 holes in a single day—and debate which course at Las Vegas’s Paiute Golf Resort offers the "dopest experience" for first-timers.

In this episode:

  • The Preston Combs Experience: Matt breaks down his lesson, utilizing Vertex Golf technology to analyze tempo and why he is switching to a 33-inch putter.
  • The "Cruising" Stroke: Why you shouldn't push through to the finish like Ace Ventura sliding into a parking spot.
  • Course Talk: A breakdown of the Snow, Sun, and Wolf courses at Paiute, plus news about a new King Collins course coming to Kohler.
  • Banter: The guys discuss the new Japanese egg salad sandwiches at 7-Eleven and why Episode 354 vanished from Spotify due to a copyright snag.
  • Housekeeping: A shift in YouTube strategy with the launch of the new "Chasing Daylight Clips" channel for short-form content.

Matt:

What is up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast, number three fifty-five. Three hundred and fifty-five.

Speaker 1:

Just flying by.

Matt:

Just flying by. It's what happens when you're here every frickin' Tuesday. So uh thanks for everybody that's hopping on, uh, which is nobody yet, but we'll get there. Um, we got uh always got to cover the the particulars. Uh definitely want to thank our show sponsor, Garson, Garson Golf. Go get you a Garson. They're everywhere. Jeremy's got his box now, so we're we're cruising with the holiday packs. 99 bucks, great deal right now. You get three grips, a gloves, some tees, ball markers, uh uh or tees, stickers, and uh uh towel with three grips. So it's a great deal. Uh my Gulfspy had it on best deals under 100 bucks for Christmas. So there you go. Yes, they did. Yes, they did. Uh had a absolute blast yesterday with Preston Combs. Yeah. Got a putting lesson, and it it it blew me away. Like, whoa. Blew me away. Uh, we I I picked him up here in town, brought him up to the house, cruised him all around Vegas, showed him some of the sites.

Joe:

Hold on, so he flew in.

Matt:

Yeah, he flew yeah, he flew. He's in town for a uh a coach's convention that's taking place. All the uh top D1, D2 coaches across the country come together and meet, and uh so he's here for that. And uh he had a day and and he's like, let's get together, you know. We've been wanting to do this for a while, and uh so picked him up. You did it at the house, yeah. Brought him up to the house and uh yeah, uh showed him the the the makeshift studio that I have here in the casita, and then we went out back and uh he goes outside.

Joe:

Yeah, which you're gonna talk about.

Matt:

So we we stepped outside and he goes, Oh, that's why you bought this house because of the view. And I was like, Yep, yep, that is why. Uh so yeah, so we went outside and he's like, he's like, All right, let's do this. And so we basically he basically did a lesson for me. And that's you know, I I thought I knew what was going on with putting. I thought, you know, I was making my way to uh the title of best putter in Nevada, and boy, did I get a snapper reality. He's like, yeah, that's that's an awesome goal, but you ain't getting there with that stroke.

Joe:

So uh it it was humble. That's cool. It was in person too. I really, you know, the in-person vibe is awesome. Yes, and he does on what's his Instagram. If you guys don't know, follow his Instagram.

Matt:

Yeah, I'll have it in the show, uh the show notes. Uh it's uh uh Preston's putting. Uh you can find him on Instagram. Preston Combs is his name. Uh, very highly regarded putting coach. He doesn't do short game, he doesn't do full swing, he is a putting instructor only putting, which is really freaking cool. Uh, he knows what he's talking about.

Joe:

And I'm sure a lot of people at some point in their golf career or golf playing are like, I need a putting coach. I've been there where I'm like, I need to go see somebody about my putting. Sure. Yeah.

Matt:

And it was it was really neat how he did it. We he set up, uh, he goes, Okay, I'm just gonna let's find a putt here. Okay, we'll based on your green speed, we'll just do this putt right here. Go ahead and hit five putts. And in those five putts, he saw exactly what he needed to see and just established a plan and broke it down. And dude, it it was wild, absolutely wild. And uh the software that he uses, it's a company called Vertex Golf. It's a small little center, it's it's like the Sam Putt Lab, but it's um it's on the back side of it. It only weighs nine grams. You don't see I didn't even realize it was there the entire time, and it gets all the measured data, uh you know, club face, uh, all that, your path, but it does tempo, and it measures your back swing, your forward swing, it measures your tempo, the club head speed, the ball speed, all that stuff. And it was like, okay, this is what we're looking for. And my God, was what we were looking for, not what I was doing. Yeah, I would I could have guessed that. Uh hey, hey. And he said, Okay, you know, you're kind of on the outskirts of where we want to be in repeating a stroke. So let's work on a couple tempo things. So we worked on some tempo things. They said, Okay, I'm gonna set you up with his, it's called the baseline, your baseline stroke, which you guys have seen me do this with uh the three T's, right? Measuring your baseline stroke, and and uh yeah, it would it was eye opening. And when we were done, my tempo was ideal. Uh my my backstroke matched my forward stroke, my tempo was perfect.

Joe:

The the speed what was uh his biggest thing with you though? Was it tempo? Like what do you think really clicked?

Matt:

Um, my my setup, my posture needed some help, and because of my setup and how my posture was, that was making other things happen.

Joe:

It's a lot, it's a lot like we got our first question.

Matt:

Do you think Half-Life 3 will be announced to the game awards on Thursday?

Joe:

I I hope so.

Matt:

I really if it doesn't, what are we gonna do?

Joe:

Hey Scott, I appreciate your question. We're a golf podcast. I'm assuming you're talking about video games, but uh thank you for stopping by. What the hell's Half-Life 3?

Matt:

Um new putting game, new putting game.

Joe:

Oh if it's a new putting game, he's ahead of the curve. New golf game.

Matt:

Uh yeah, it was the posture, it's all like sequencing. You know, if your sequencing is off in a full swing, uh bad things happen, you know, and so that's what we had to start with foundational, you know. Hey, your grip is fine, your stroke is okay, but your your setup is not ideal. So we worked on the setup. Once I got the setup, then we worked on tempo. And if you can see that video that I shared earlier, oh you know, I may be able to bring that up. Uh, the video I shared earlier, uh, my forward stroke, it was incredibly long. And my backstroke was in relation to that incredibly short. So you're like you're like pushing. So yeah, so it was like back and then really forward. So the the tempo was just all off. And so you worked on you know making a longer backstroke, and then he coined, he has the phrase where it's you know, the putter head just cruises to the finish, it doesn't you know push through to the finish. And uh in the in the episode, you'll hear he said, he goes, Hey Matt, how far do you hit your your eight iron? I'm like, Yeah, it's my 140, my 145 club. He goes, Okay, it looks like you're trying to hit your eight iron 160 yards. That's what you're doing with your putting stroke. And I was like, it it just resonated with me. I said, Okay, that makes a whole hell of a lot of sense. And so uh we worked on that, and yeah, it was it was incredible when we were done. I was like, oh my god, and it uh it it was yeah, it was pretty amazing. Uh it's hard to say.

Joe:

It was it was just pretty freaking did you get goosies?

Matt:

I had some goose.

Joe:

I told him I said then I sent him a message this morning.

Matt:

I said, you know, I said I owe you an apology. I said I was an absolute terrible host. I said I got home last night.

Joe:

You never even offered him a drink. What are you doing?

Matt:

I picked him up at like 10 o'clock, you know, in the morning, and uh we got to the house, and then I we were here for a while, and then I dropped him off. And uh yeah. So I said I go, dude, I am I am absolute horrible host. I said, I feel so I was so excited you were here and excited that I was talking with you that I didn't even offer you a drink or any food. I said, I feel so bad. He's like, no, he goes, I I didn't even think about it either. I was having so much fun. So nice. Uh yeah. My hosting skills, yeah. My hosting skills need some work.

Joe:

I don't think I've ever been offered a drink when I go over there either, when I've been over there.

Matt:

Yeah, I don't think so. I don't have anything in the garage.

Joe:

I mean, the garage is attached to the house. There's a sink in there. If you're there's the hose water.

Matt:

So here's the uh here I got the uh I got it up on the screen so you can see it. There's the first stroke and the improved stroke. So you could see the postures a little bit more over.

Joe:

Yeah, you like lift up in the first one.

Matt:

Yeah. Uh you can see the the where you can really see that is watch my pants and my upper body in the left side. Everything twists and turns and opens, and on the right, it's all just solid. And you can also see the one on the left. Sorry for those of you not watching on YouTube, but if you're listening to this on the podcast, go back to YouTube right now and you can watch this.

Joe:

Or it's on my Instagram. 10-minute mark, 10, 10 minute, 18-second mark.

Matt:

So uh look at where I'm I'm gripping the club on the left. Uh standard grip, and then on the right, I'm choked down about an inch. Uh, and then you can also see where the club, the angle of the uh the lie angle of the club going into my arms, it's there's an angle on the left side, and on the right side, it's straight up my arms. Just it's just very, very, very ideal.

Joe:

So it was uh so what are we gonna what are we gonna do with that episode? Is it gonna be for your subscribers on there? What are we doing there?

Matt:

What do you guys think? What do you think?

Joe:

I haven't had a chance to listen to it. I mean, I think I think maybe you can release the first one to the world, and then you know, he's gonna come back on at some point, right? So or we could send him videos of ours and he could like give us tips and then we could do the same thing and try it.

Matt:

Yeah, yeah. So yeah, I I mean, I as much as I want to grow the CDP premium, I I'm just I'm afraid this this is just too good to win. Give it to the masses on not a hair.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I say they give it to him. We'll give we'll give it to that little sample by like it like it's like Costco. There's a little sample, yeah. Follower give it bags of it in the back.

Matt:

Well, in capper. Yeah. Oh, maybe that's what I can do. I can cut it and just do like the first 30 minutes, release that.

Speaker 1:

And then hey, if you want the rest of the full episode, right when it gets good, you just turn it off. Yeah, yeah.

Matt:

So the best way to improve your putting is to tune in. Thank you, everybody.

Joe:

If you want to hear the rest of the episode, yeah, just cut them off. Wow.

Matt:

Yeah, okay. No, we'll we'll release it to the masses for everybody. And I was asking a lot of questions, um, kind of based on the the whatnot crowd. You know, uh, I was golfers that are new to golf, maybe, or yeah, uh don't understand how important it is to get your putter dialed in. Um, we had some aim point questions we talked about. We had um uh you know, zero torque putter talk, we had putter grip talk, we had putter shaft talk, we had putter length talk, um, ideologies, uh different teaching methods. I mean, there was a lot, a lot of conversations about it.

Joe:

I think it'd be good for everybody.

Matt:

Yeah. And we uh I told him, I said, if I ever go into a PGA store, uh Las Vegas Golf Superstore, Golf Galaxy, and I see somebody doing what we were talking about, I will be excited. There you go. I will be excited. There we we talked about what people should do when they're looking for a new putter. You know, if you're if you're in the market for a new putter, the does and don'ts.

Joe:

I yeah, I think that would help a ton of people.

Matt:

Yeah, and it was it was some really good conversation, really good golf talk. So yeah, uh, you know, I I I didn't record I I recorded the video, but it wasn't a studio setting, it was on the couch. Uh, you know, we were just chatting back and forth. So there's not gonna be any video of all you just did audio?

Joe:

Boom.

Matt:

Yeah, I just did the audio. The video it wouldn't have been entertaining to watch the video because it was just two people looking at each other talking about checking out, just uh so it's only gonna be audio. Um, but Preston is working on some videos because he recorded the whole lesson and broke down, and we had segments where we talked about what was coming on. So we'll have a really nice full video so you can find out what the experience is like. Um, and he talked about how the online lessons it's actually how he can actually work with somebody based on watching them putting.

Speaker 1:

So where is he located? Orlando. Okay. And he does he at a course or is he a like a putting studio type of thing?

Matt:

He has converted his garage into a putting studio. Oh, nice. So he has he has the putt view, the overhead and Quintech and Sam Putt Lab and this vertex. Putt view cost.

Joe:

It's gotta be very pricey.

Matt:

Sounds like it.

Joe:

Yeah, and I'm I'm sure it's not cheap. Approximately $12,000 for the P7 home series to over $60,000 for custom and professional series setups.

Matt:

Yeah, that's Shell Bay.

Joe:

That would be amazing to have. Yeah, that would be sweet.

Matt:

So I'm I'm pondering getting the Vertex software. Um just because I think it's it's so valuable, and I think we all could benefit from having it. Um, but it it's not it's not expensive, but it's not crazy cheap either. There's an annual subscription you have to have and you have to buy the initial software.

Joe:

So you can you could use that as a CDP premium um upgrade if you come to Vegas, you can use it.

Matt:

Yeah, if you're a subscriber. Right? Hey, come up to the putty green and I can tell you all this information, and then you'll refer you to Preston to get it fixed because I have no idea what so hey uh so for everybody that's in the chat, we're gonna give this is gonna be our giveaway tonight.

Joe:

Oh red one, quad tour, a red clean boy, cleaning you can see that texture on it.

Matt:

Maybe, maybe, maybe yeah, it's a great grip. Yep. Great grip. So in order to win this, you have to comment, but I changed it this week. You have to comment something. I want to win a Garson. That's what you have to comment. I want to win a Garson. So only comments that have I want to win a Garson in it will be counted. So if you want to win this grip, $30 grip. Right there. Just type it in now.

Speaker 2:

Take eight seconds.

Joe:

You're gonna make you're gonna make it a nightmare for the giveaway. Somebody's gonna win, and then you gotta go back and look. And yeah.

Matt:

No, you can't. But it auto-collects it. Normally I don't have it, I just have it set for any comment. So a little filter this week. Comment. I want to win a Garza.

Joe:

I did get a couple reviews on uh uh let's see. Garson grips. Can't wait to try them out. Thanks, homie. Um I had a couple more. Shout out TNT in the chat. Your stickers are fire, thank you. You're welcome. Uh couple people said the as described, nice grip. So people are liking them. I haven't heard any negative comments from the ones we sold. Oh no, whatnot yet so far. We still have a shit ton left.

Matt:

Got new stickers in? Oh nice. Got the new stickers. So anybody that wins anything, this will be coming with it too. New slash. The new logo. New slash.

Joe:

That looks like a late night show. Like uh late night with Jimmy Fallon or something.

Matt:

Oh, late night with Jimmy Fallon. So those will go. I got some more coming. Uh I had Miles help us out. We got some bigger ones coming of the outdoorsy looking logo.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah, the other one, yeah. Still playing, Boyd.

Matt:

Better bring my sticker and ball marker Saturday. Ball marker, I gave you a ball marker already.

Joe:

Boy.

Matt:

Another one.

Joe:

Better pay for our tea time, Boyd.

Matt:

Are you still going, Joe?

Joe:

Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Matt:

Oh, ooh, that that didn't sound very confident.

Joe:

No, I'm I'm yeah, I'm 98, 99. 98, 99.

Matt:

Boyd sent me a text today. He goes, when I see him on the T-Box, I'll believe it.

Joe:

Oh, I wish I wish I could show up to more T-boxes.

Matt:

Uh yeah, he sounded thrilled.

Joe:

Brayden, Bray Bray, what up?

Matt:

Hi.

Joe:

Aloha.

Matt:

So, uh, what what else is going on in the in the golfing space? Any anything else uh off hot topic that you guys want to throw out there right now?

Joe:

Um, I mean No. Joe's gonna be. I haven't been out there. I haven't been out there about much. I did I did see Hideki just drilling it tight in a playoff hole. That was pretty nice. Yeah, he was on.

Matt:

Dude, that shot on the first playoff hole where he stuck it to three feet. Ugh. So good. So good. Yeah, we were gonna chat about this. Uh boy's talking about it. Uh Brooks, is he gonna play or is he gonna sit out? I see.

Speaker 1:

Has anyone said why? I don't know.

Matt:

There's just rumors that he's not thrilled. And he's the the Live General Manager said he's under contract for 26. And but uh doesn't he have baby number two coming soon, too, I think.

Speaker 2:

I think. I could be wrong, but I think his girl's pregnant, but maybe I'm wrong.

Joe:

Yeah, also if you guys have any topics you want us to talk about, throw them in the chat. Not Half-Life 3.

Matt:

Oh. Yeah. I'm ready for warm weather too. It's gonna be this week's nice. This week is nice. It's gonna be 71 and 75.

Joe:

Oh, yeah. This this this week is very nice in Las Vegas. Very, very nice.

Matt:

He seemed as stoked as Joe for Saturday.

Joe:

I am I am very stoked. I'm very stoked. Brooks always been hard to read, though.

Matt:

So you never know.

Joe:

He is hard to read, yeah.

Matt:

You never know what he's gonna do, what he's gonna do.

Speaker 2:

My fault. They uh they had a miscarriage. So oh yeah, sorry for that.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, Brooks.

Joe:

Yeah, Brooks, that's tough.

Speaker 1:

That's a bummer.

Matt:

20 and 30s here. Where is here? Good heavens. What is that? You are you up in Wisconsin?

Speaker 2:

That's gotta be Minnesota. Did you see fucking Bob's post? No, you're he is assholed now.

Joe:

That is not South Carolina?

Speaker 2:

Tennessee?

Matt:

He's like he said that the post. Oh wow. Twenties and 30s in Tennessee. Tennessee, Tennessee.

Joe:

Yeah, it's cold over there, man. I think they've been having some pretty much ice car come come through recently, I think, or one was coming.

Matt:

I can't remember, but no, thank you.

Joe:

No.

Matt:

No, I uh yeah. Yeah, that would be tough. I'm not looking forward to New York in a few weeks, so that's that cold.

Speaker 1:

Do you have potential of getting stuck there for hours?

Matt:

Why would you say that?

Speaker 1:

Why would you because I've suffered through that before?

Speaker 2:

We just launched at least there's good pizza nearby.

Joe:

That's true. Yeah.

Matt:

That is very true. If if you can get to it, true.

Joe:

And bagels. And bagels.

Matt:

Pizza bagels and bagels. Pizza bagels. There is a Duncan right across the street from my daughter's apartment.

Joe:

That's not a good fucking bagel, dude.

Matt:

I'm not talking about bagel. I'm just talking about a coffee. Just a quick coffee.

Joe:

Their coffee sucks too. It's not good.

Matt:

It's better than nothing.

Joe:

Have you had it, Joe? Are you just talking about it? Duncan coffee?

Matt:

Joe brings 7-Eleven coffee to he does like egg sandwiches in 71.

Joe:

Yeah. Those are new Japanese. They brought the Japanese egg salad sandwiches to the U.S. I've probably consumed 20 of them in the past two, three weeks.

Speaker 2:

Oh my god.

Joe:

They're good. Yeah, they're great.

Speaker 2:

From 7-Eleven?

Joe:

They're really good, actually. Yeah, they they brought the Japanese recipe to the US. Because of how popular they are in Japan. They're solid.

unknown:

Okay.

Joe:

And I haven't been sick once yet from eating an egg salad sandwich from 7-Eleven.

Speaker 2:

You know, the bean and cheese burritos from Robertos has probably put a nice cast iron coating over your stomach. Yeah. Yeah.

Joe:

Oh, coating.

Speaker 2:

Rhino lining stomach.

Joe:

What is it fucking? Uh gorilla gorilla glue. Just a layer of gorilla glue around my stomach. Yep. Already pre-hardened.

unknown:

Yeah.

Matt:

I don't know if I could do egg salad sandwich from 7-Eleven.

Joe:

Try it. Try it. Do you like egg salad sandwich? I do, yeah.

Matt:

It's not my.

Joe:

Yeah, because you like the bomber. You get the one with the red sticker. It'll say Japanese in all the films. Or QP made with QP. They're bomb.

Matt:

All right. They're good.

Joe:

Okay.

Matt:

Alright. Next time I'm near. Well, I'm going to be near a 7-Eleven tomorrow.

Joe:

But make sure when you look at the X-Brie. Make sure it's like two at least two days ahead. Don't buy the one that's like has tomorrow on it. Two days ahead. Expiration date. Because I think at least two days. Or two days left on the X-Burry.

Speaker 2:

Make sure it's expired by two days. It's the best flavor.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm going to agree with Kristen on that one.

Joe:

Yeah. It's a fucking thing at the Masters.

Speaker 1:

That's one of the biggest things at the Masters, too. Yeah. I don't trust the mayo, I think.

Joe:

I think that's my problem. That's a bad thing. Well, they in the Japanese ones, they use QP, which is Japanese. And QP is very good. Mayo.

Speaker 1:

I feel like Japanese food standards might be higher than here, though. Of course. Yeah, I I would I would agree with that.

Matt:

I'm not sure 7-Eleven is meeting those standards. I don't know.

Joe:

Well, they're using QP. They're putting it on the stickers. They could be lying, of course. It isn't it is possible, but they're still good.

Speaker 1:

And I'm still alive. So is it egggy? Like you the egg is the dominant flavor in it, or I would say so.

Joe:

It's an egg salad sandwich tastes like egg. Yeah, I would I would say so.

Speaker 1:

I mean the ones I've had, it's like it's like there's so much sauce that it you can't really tell there's egg in it.

Speaker 2:

You just gotta like open it up and put a little paprika in there, you know. Turn it into like a dress it up, little salt and egg type thing. Some bacon bits.

Joe:

Yep, seven o'clock payment. Yeah, we're doing 7 p.m. now, sir. You must be modding for someone.

Matt:

L's in the chat. Here you go. There you go.

Joe:

That's just for you. Oh, Cliff's in the house. What a cliffy.

Speaker 2:

Hey, Cliffy? What do they have to say again, Matt, for the people who just showed up in chat? What do they have to say again? Oh, yeah, yeah.

Matt:

Oh, yeah. So it is uh I want to win a Garson. That's what we're we're giving away a Garson grip tonight. Right here. Normally all you have to do is leave a comment, but we've upped the annie a little bit. You actually have to reply with I want to win a Garson. Or not reply. Post, I want to win a Garson. And uh that can be right there.

Speaker 4:

But if he's in Cleveland, huh? Here Drew Carey's rocks.

Matt:

There's so many good TV shows that are gone.

Joe:

There are, yeah.

Matt:

We were spoiled back in the day. It's absolutely spoiled with great television that he's not there anymore. Although I will say the new Landman season is really, really good. I've never watched any of that.

Speaker 2:

It's pretty good, Joe.

Joe:

Seriously? Yeah, I yeah, it is good.

Speaker 2:

It's pretty good.

Joe:

Yeah, I would like to watch it at some point. I mean, it's it's it's a really dope golf course, so it's gotta be a dumb show.

Matt:

And and I I'm sure a lot of people are aware of this, but Paramount is now the home of UFC. And they're gonna have all their fights. There's no more pay-per-view.

Joe:

Really?

Matt:

Wow. They're not doing pay-per-view anymore. They're broadcasting all their fights, even the big ones, on Paramount.

unknown:

The fuck?

Matt:

So if you subscribe to Paramount, you're getting the UFC.

Speaker 1:

The price of Paramount probably just went up.

Matt:

Well, I'm I got a smoking deal on it last year. I got like 12 months for like 10 bucks on a promo. So I I I'm sure that's not going to uh who's saying that they have I Noah.

Joe:

Sorry to hear that, Noah.

Matt:

Are we getting what's getting that's that's not cool.

Joe:

I'm sorry to hear that.

Speaker 2:

Um it's quite the uh that's quite the conversation starter, too.

Matt:

Welcome to the show. I have cancer yeah.

Joe:

Thank thank you for being here. I'm sorry to hear that.

Matt:

I I mean where do you go with that?

Joe:

Yeah, I don't know.

Matt:

Dude, yeah, don't do that to us. Come on, man.

Joe:

Oh did you guys watch the Diddy documentary?

Speaker 2:

No. I'm on uh episode uh middle episode two.

Matt:

Such a golf podcast right now. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And there's not a lot to talk about. There's not a lot of golf going on right now. This is what we talk about. No.

Joe:

Yeah. Any golf questions?

Matt:

I'm cleaning up paint feeling and reshafting a yes putter. Ooh, which yes putter? Can I toss one of those Garsons I got on it? Yes, absolutely. What yes putter? There's some good ones back in the day. I always wanted an Emma putter because that's my daughter's name.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I saw one of Matt Fitzpatrick's putters. Actually, it it used it's like they copied the yes design, right? Bet Nardy for him.

Matt:

Yeah, once that C-groove patent ran out, and yeah, I saw one on Pro Clubs.

Speaker 1:

It it looks pretty sweet. I remember that yes putter back in the day.

Matt:

Yeah. Tiffany. Nice. You know what?

Joe:

Yeah, I'm hoping I hope it goes well for you, man.

Matt:

Yeah. Uh we're here. We're here every week. Come hang out. As long as you can. Uh, and get in the giveaway. Win a Garson grip. I want to win a Garson. That's all you gotta do. Oh uh who won last week, Joe? The top golf thing. This is going out tomorrow.

Joe:

Uh total dysfunction.

Matt:

Total dysfunction. Uh sorry for the delay on this. It's coming, I promise. We had staff fittings all week last week, so yeah. Total dysfunction one. I was uh I was all over the place last week, in and out. Um, I did get to spend some time with the driver hitting it. Uh I do want to give some love to Eric Greenley. He sent me uh Mitsubishi Vanquishhaft. Um and wow, wow, it annihilated my vent as TR red. Like annihilated it. Massive, massive difference.

Speaker 1:

Is it the same specs? Like higher, higher lines.

Matt:

It's a mid-high. Okay. It's a stiff. And uh, dude, it it's but it has it has less torque, so it kicks a little bit better for me. Um and dude, it was it was absolutely fantastic. Uh, I did see what I was hoping to see with the new driver. I I saw with my swing on the good strikes, as I'm hurting right now with the leg. Uh, so on the good strikes, uh, I was seeing five to six mile an hour more ball speed. I I'm not somebody that gets over 140 right now. I I kind of swing it slow uh as far as ball speed, but I was eclipsing that quite often. So it was it was fun to see. It's gonna turn some heads. Julian was hitting 190, 191 ball speed. It's it's stupid good. Yes, because I'm old. Try that out. Thank you. In case everybody doesn't matter because I'm old. Thanks. I feel better.

Joe:

I was going through old swing videos today because I'm in the you know that chat group with some people um from uh from the dub knows, dub not uh the W's zone.

Matt:

What's going on in the background?

Joe:

I don't know. I don't know I have no idea. Um but I was going through old videos because people are posting swing videos, and I was like, damn, we've been to some cool places, man.

Matt:

We have.

Joe:

We really have been to we've played golf at some fucking rad ass places.

Matt:

What's your favorite place that you've been, Joe?

Joe:

It's just they're all so different, man. They're all yeah. I mean, like, yeah, Bandon is Disney World, you know. It's like they have everything you need, you know, and it's uh the people are incredible. Uh, you got world-class golf, um, it's an adventure. Um, I mean, there's great things about it, and there's great things about other places we've been as well, like Nebraska with Cliff. Uh, that was incredible, but it sucks driving diamonds. Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 2:

Did you hear the sound of that?

Matt:

Um yeah. Sorry, I didn't I forgot that as soon as you loaded it out.

Joe:

Payment failed. I should try Beth Page. Yeah, I heard it's really good. I heard it's really good.

Speaker 1:

We would never hear the end of it.

Joe:

Uh sleeping it, sleeping in cars and extremely good. Yeah, so where this is on your organ trip, right? Yeah, this is when me and Matt went to play this bolster. That's cutting. Diamond.

Matt:

So we we stopped and played Diamond.

Joe:

That's a fun golf course, too.

Matt:

Oh my god, it was so much fun. But look at my swing. This was two and a half years ago.

Joe:

We played in like two hours. That's cutting. That's it. That's 8 30, I think. She's or nine. Close, probably.

Matt:

It was close to nine. Yeah. It was close to nine.

Joe:

Course question. So we can go back to that one. But the the Beth to go on back onto Beth Page, you know, because I've been there and I've played it. Played it, right? Yeah, I've played it. But sleeping in a car is bucket list. Everybody should do it. Everybody should play the solstice once, bucket list situation. Unfortunately, you can't sleep out for the old course anymore. But go to the old course, play the old course, bucket. I haven't done that one yet. Um, but there's bucket lists in golf that you should do, and sleeping in a car to get a bakery ticket at Beth Page is is one of them, and as well as Bandit Solstice.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Joe:

And driving all the way across the state of Nebraska to play golf.

unknown:

Yeah.

Matt:

Chris asked a question. Uh, course question for you guys. I've never been out to Paiute, so I want to know which course I should play first to get the dopest experience. So I will tell you this: no matter which one you play, you're gonna have a dope experience. Yeah, that's the thing. They're they're different, but they are all equally amazing.

Speaker 1:

So if I were to recommend one to a person, it would probably be snow. That's that would be my because it's it's like the the of all three, it's the balance of like extremely good conditions, but also undifficult but fun. Sun, sun is difficult, I would say, because it's long. Wolf is long. But I think snow's the if you can if you can play one, try to play snow. But try to play all of them.

Matt:

Yeah, and wolf also it's got the signature island green hole.

Joe:

First one I ever played was Wolf because you see the pictures of the Island Green, and you know, it's and Wolf isn't my favorite, so it's there's something for you know Cliff says snow. No wolf's sun. Yeah, I think I think so too. It changes, it it changes on different things. Yeah, sun and wolf.

Matt:

I really like me, but snow is my favorite by far.

Joe:

Snow is my favorite. Sun and Wolf go back and forth. Wolf has the most, uh, you know, the signature hole of Paiute, but there's moments when you're playing Sun where you're like, damn, this is really dope. And you could see the different level changes. And I mean, I think I think Sun probably has the most elevation change, probably. I think it's I mean, there's more than a ton out there.

Matt:

There's more people than snow and wolf.

Joe:

Yeah, I think it's uh there's mo there's moments when you look back on Sun and you're like, damn, you could see four flags, and that's cool, yeah. And really good holes too. But snow's my favorite. Wolf and Sun. I mean, I think there's some holes on Wolf that just kind of like blend into each other.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think so too.

Joe:

There's there some of the best holes that are out there are on Wolf. So it's it's a toss-up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think Sun kind of has a few of those that blend in with each other as well, but they do, yeah, they do. Yeah. I think the part threes on Sun or Snow are I mean, there's two of them on there that are hard to beat, really. I mean, on the entire property. Yeah. But you won't you won't have a bad time any course you play there. You'll the conditions are the same on every course. Sometimes the greens vary in speed a little bit between the three, but for the most part, it's amazing. You'll have a good day.

Joe:

Especially if you've never been. I mean, it's it you you're not gonna have a bad experience wherever you go.

Matt:

100%.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

unknown:

Whack.

Matt:

See, I can switch. I sent that to Tim, and I'm like, I go, dude, check this out. I was you know, uh found this video, and uh, he's like, look at that hand transition. I said, what the hell happened?

Joe:

You find one of my videos from them too. It's uh mine's way different, too.

Speaker 1:

Dude, I yeah, I have pre-jumping Joe, and yeah, I have a lot of videos of you. I was telling Dan about that five wood you hit at Palm Valley.

Joe:

Yeah, oh dude, that was that was ridiculous. That shot was I think about that all the time. It was it was so sick, dude.

Matt:

It was really I sent that to Tim, and this is he's such a coach. He's such a coach. So I said, What the hell happened to me? He goes, injuries mixed with self-diagnosis. That hand movement was a feel that fixed something at some point. But what it didn't do is address the root cause what actually caused you the frustrations at the time.

Joe:

Such a coach, like what we all do. Such a coach, yeah. But your knee was busted then too.

Matt:

No, it started hurting there. It I I wasn't afraid to play, you know. It it it was just annoying. That's when the guys we played with let me borrow that brace. Just because it after that round is when it after I can't remember. After that round is when it started bothering me a little bit. And then we played I don't know what we play next, and then it was hurting.

Joe:

I think we played sheep first.

Matt:

Yeah, I think we did play sheep first, and they let me borrow it.

Joe:

Yeah, after on the punch bowl, you told them.

Matt:

Yep, yep, that's where we saw that.

Joe:

Would you try to get in the solstice again? Man, I don't know if I could do that again.

Matt:

I would I would totally do it if they wouldn't have jacked the price up $600.

Joe:

I would try and do it again, but damn, that's a lot. I I just don't play as much golf anymore.

Speaker 1:

It's are you suffering at the end? Or are you still on that high? I was I was just high.

Matt:

He was walking worse after our abandoned trip than he was on the solstice trip. The solstice trip, he was just crying the whole time.

Joe:

Yeah, but my my whole Achilles, it was a fucking rod. I could not bend my foot this way or this way. So I was just like this, just night clever laying in it and just swinging your arm, your leg around foot the next day, the next morning.

Matt:

Okay, so Pamfeld's asking, what is the sign right there? So solstice happens every year in on the the summer solstice, and it's in June, uh typically Father's Day.

Joe:

We Tuesday, the Tuesday nearest to the summer solstice.

Matt:

And uh what it is is you play four courses in one day. Uh, and it's all walking.

Joe:

Walking.

Matt:

Yeah, so you walk 72 holes in one day, but you're playing four courses in one day. And then Joe and I, and uh shout out Scotty D uh went and played the preserve barefoot afterwards. So we did 80, what is that 85?

Joe:

85, 85 all the way live.

Matt:

We did 85 that day walking. That's the thing.

Joe:

It was tw I think I think it was 29.7 miles walked.

Speaker 2:

Does San Valley still do their solstice?

Joe:

And yeah, they do, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Joe:

But after we after we fin after you finish the 72nd hole during the the band in solstice, they hand you a hundred dollars cash.

unknown:

Yep.

Joe:

And then you can go if there's still daylight, you can go play any other course for free that's on property. And uh yeah, I was still I was still adrenaline high, and I was like, we gotta go. We gotta go do the solstice.

Matt:

So one of the things that Band and when it's I don't I don't know if they still do this, but it's it was one of the original ideologies behind it. It was you know, you you pay for a round, your your second round is half price, your third round is free, and if you complete four, they'll give you a hundred bucks. And so that's that's what the solstice is. I know it's now if you play one, your second round is half off. So I I know that. I don't know if they're still doing the third round is free. I don't know. But in order to accomplish that, you got to do it when there's daylight, and in the Oregon Coast in August uh or in June, you know, it's daylight till 9.30.

Joe:

Yeah, we played from I think it was 6.05 or 6.10 until 9.45 at night. Nonstop all day. That's amazing. Literally, the only reason we stopped was to change shoes, jump on a shuttle, eat a sandwich, and get driven to the other course. And then it was get out the shuttle and then go.

Speaker 1:

So, how much time did you have between courses? Like 30 minutes. How long it took to get 20 minutes? Okay. No, we had like no, it was 10.

Matt:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So you're literally, I mean, they booked it all so that you get off the bus and you head to the T.

Matt:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Shuttles all day.

Joe:

They're just shutting people everywhere. What's your next course? All right, we'll go there. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Yeah.

Matt:

And we uh they tell you, you know, hey, you're not out here to set a course record. No one's no one's out here to shoot 65. Uh you're you're not lining up a three-foot putt, you know, just play golf. Go. And we played band OG band in in what like wasn't it like 220?

Joe:

Jeez. I think it was less than I think it was 210.

Matt:

It was, I mean, we it might have been less than that. It might have been 150. Flu. And and all it was was hit the ball, go find it, hit it again, go find it from the green.

Joe:

Everyone's walking, so you just hit. You're not even worried if they're in front of you. Like, hey, look out, I'm hitting. Boom, hit. Go find it. Find hit, find hit. Yeah, you don't decide if four feet are good.

Matt:

You know, you don't spend 20 minutes looking for a ball in the in the thickets. You just uh I don't see it. Okay, drop and hit and go, you know, because it's it's it's about the experience of being out there all day playing.

Joe:

Marathon. It's a golf marathon.

Matt:

So much fun though. I highly recommend anybody that has, you know, I'm I we're not like super physically fit, but uh, you know, if you can it was easier than I thought, yeah. Yeah, if you can walk golf, go do it.

Joe:

Uh Austin, I s I just sent you a video from Adventures in Golf when Eric Anders Lang did it with um Akbar is his name? Akbar from Sheamus? Akbar is his name. Um, but they did not like like us, they did not go play another round after, which we did 13 more holes after what they did. But yeah, it's a bucket list. Yeah, and I'm are too happy now that I talked you into doing that. Oh, absolutely.

Matt:

I was I was hesitant because I my my knee was bugging me a little bit, and I was like, No, you're going. And then Scotty said he's going. I'm like, fuck it, okay, let's go.

Joe:

And Scott, and we played it barefoot, and Scotty played it with a square strike only.

Matt:

We took three clubs, and he did it with a square strike.

Joe:

It was so funny. That was a blast. Oh, that was a blast.

Matt:

It's funny because Scott has a converse tattoo on his foot, so it looks like he's wearing a converse. So he's barefoot, but it looks like he had a shoe on.

Joe:

Yeah.

Matt:

Can you imagine?

Joe:

I think one of my favorite, one of my favorite swing videos ever is the one from that round on preserve. On the the back back one, uh-huh. Where you're like you're saying, uh he's bending it. He's bending it like Beckham. Because I hit like a little low Drosky into that into that hole. Yeah, a little punch draw. I love that. I love that.

Speaker 1:

Wasn't it was that the year it was extremely windy when you guys were playing Sheep? Yep, yep. Our final round was super windy.

Matt:

Yeah, that's I got a couple videos of that where Joe was hitting off the uh the championship tee on 17 and could almost got knocked over. Yeah, that was wild. So much fun. Yeah, I'd love to do that someday. It was sheep was brutal. Brutal. I mean, that was like sustained 50 mile an hour. That was wild. It's like, can we get a downwind hole, please? It's like, no.

Joe:

Oh man. What's cool though when we played it? I mean, trails wasn't in it when we played it, but we played them in chronological order, which was kind of cool. And we went up the coast. We played OG, Pac, um, old Mac, and then sheep. So it was like we were going the same way all day. And we played them, not counting trails, but like in chronological order of when they were built.

Matt:

Oh, yeah. Pretty cool. Yeah, trails uh so split, man.

Speaker 1:

Trails is normally in it though, right? It they rotate, it just wasn't in your rotation.

Matt:

Yeah, it rotates. Once sheep opened up, they were like, oh, we got five now.

Joe:

So I don't think trails was in it that year, though.

Matt:

No, no, nobody played trails.

Joe:

It was just I think they keep one course open for guests or resort guests to play.

Matt:

Hey, no one's gonna be able to do that. If they're not on the solstice. Glad you're back. Um, let's see, what else did I want to talk about? I can't remember what else I was gonna say. Damn it. I had another topic. Hey, there's only two people in the entry right now. Yeah, right?

Joe:

Yeah. Two people. That's crazy.

Matt:

Two people.

Joe:

I want to win a free Garson putter grip. Shout out Garson, the best putter grips you can get. All you need to do to win that Garson putter grip that Matt is showing on screen right now, right this second, is put in the comment section of this. I want to win a Garson. We're gonna pull it at the end of the show. You throw that comment in there, and then you gotta be here at the end of the show and you win it. It's very easy, very simple, very free.

Matt:

Very simple. What's the longest course out here in Vegas? Oh, a trivia question. Anybody know Boulder Creek, right?

Speaker 1:

Boulder Creek or Wolf from the back team course.

Matt:

Wolf from the championship tees and Boulder Creek both go out to 76, I believe. And Coyote Springs is right there as well.

Joe:

Noah add, I want to win a Garson.

Speaker 2:

We all want to win. But do you want to win? Or if you take five, it's Garrison.

unknown:

Garrison.

Joe:

Did he? I didn't see that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he was selling uh I'm going to win a game.

Matt:

Well, not if you don't type in I want to win a Garson. Payment. You have to type in I want to win a Garsen.

Joe:

Yeah, we got we got one of Take Five's mods up in here, man. Wild. Guy's a legend. Payment failed himself. Joe, when are you doing another show? I don't know, man. Uh stuff, you know. It's it's retail season cards. Um, I don't know, but I I'm gonna I got 24 of these hats. They're blanks. I gotta take them to the embroiderer. Everybody's been asking about them. I got 24 black caddy towels that I gotta get that embroidery on. When I only had three of them, sold those. I don't even have one. I only made one of these, so we're gonna do the green corduroy hit and greens starter style joint 24, and then the hit and greens caddy towel in black with the hit and greens quasi uh logo.

Matt:

So um, this is so funny.

Joe:

Yeah, I know, dude. That was that was hilarious. Oh that was hilarious. Good good is on whatnot. Uh not necessarily. So good good seems like they've partnered with someone and show up in some of their shows. I think it was to kick off kick it off the first show. Because I don't I don't know, payment. Have they showed up? Like I don't know all those guys' names, but Melozy showed up in the first show.

Matt:

Yeah.

Joe:

But I think they made a a way to like get rid of some of their like closeout stuff, but they partnered with what is it? Sports scoreboard or something like that. But um good good is not necessarily on whatnot is good good, but they show up on good on whatnot and sell good good stuff and payment be modern form because payment is a good good mod.

Matt:

That was so funny. How many how many people have you done that to? I'm just curious.

Joe:

Yeah, a few. He's payment, payment failed. Am I okay to tell your origin story, Austin? Second show is when I came in with good good every Wednesday. They partnered with Scoreboard Collectibles. They're gonna go sploosh. A few guys hop in. Scoreboard instantly modded me. Yeah. That's how yeah. So payment failed actually.

Matt:

He said five accounts, and you're good.

Joe:

I don't I don't know, I don't know the fool of it, but what what payment has told me was payment failed started as like a troll account, and then he became payment failed, which is like one of the largest golf homies on whatnot. So um but yeah, and he parlayed that into other things, and he's got side projects like most people do. But payment failed is demand, and it started as a troll account, which is actually kind of crazy. And now it's it's payment failed, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Joe:

Creating his own brand out there, hitting shots off of dry corn.

Speaker 4:

Sorry.

Joe:

There you go. For everybody.

Matt:

There you go.

Joe:

Um if you want to win the putter grip that we're giving away tonight, type in the comments. I want to win a Garson to enter the giveaway. So if you want to do it now.

Matt:

Hey, so uh with Preston during that uh episode, I think that calm down, whoever that was. Wait till we're off air, please. We have ghosts. We have ghosts.

Speaker 2:

It sounded like somebody was tapping the mic.

Matt:

Um so he my putter right now is 34 inches, right? That's the length I've been playing. And you see in the video, I choked down on it, and he's like, you know, it looks like 33 is is the right length for you. And I'm like, oh great. I'm I catch so much shit for playing 34. I said, they're gonna love it that I played. So little little shout out in the episode, uh, asking uh about a 33-inch putter. So that was that was for years. We like to give shit so much for playing a short putter.

Speaker 1:

Did you uh ask him about Tiger's feels that he's he talked about? About how the you let the ball get in the way of the putter?

Matt:

No, because um I think we kind of were it was it wasn't that same analogy, but it was very, very similar to what we were doing. So I I think it pretty much covered it, and it it totally makes sense. Um yeah, I I with me, I just I get really aggressive after the ball and just had to tone that down, and and he's you know, it's just that that putterhead just cruises to the finish, you know. Just he goes, it's you're not like uh uh uh pet detective, uh, ace ventura. And you're not sliding into a parking slot like that, you just cruise into the finish.

Speaker 1:

Like a glove.

Joe:

Like a glove glove. Isn't that like I mean, I saw a video come up the other day with Tiger and how he said he transfers all the inertia into the ball and stops it kind of like to give it off.

Matt:

The the ball, the impact with the ball is what slows the putter head down, which I was talking about it with Jeremy when he was over here. Um and I mean it it physically doesn't, you know, it it's there's too much mass in a putter head to for a ball to to stop a putter, you know, it it right, it just gets in the way. But if you have that ideology or that mentality, that's the feeling. When the ball, you know, make when you make contact with the ball, that's the ball is slowing the putter head down. It's a way for you to feel that you know you don't let that that forward stroke go further than it should. I mean it it's it's pretty interesting. It's pretty interesting, and that's it it's a lot to do with tempo, and it has you know a lot to do with matching your your backstroke to your follow-through. You know, if you have a short putt and you short backstroke, short for that's one of those things, man.

Joe:

Putting is a wild world. You can go down the wormhole with anything.

Matt:

Yes, you can. So uh all right, we're up to four entries. That's nice. All right, so everybody, uh we've we've been doing good on the follows on Apple. Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. These guys appreciate it too. Helped us climb up the charts, and that is always a good thing. Gets us more ears, gets us more follows, gets us more listens.

Joe:

Yeah, but were we? What number were we on the uh last week's three?

Matt:

Yeah, 653. So we'll see what happens after this week. Had a little beef with Spotify that kind of upset me. Um, so for those of you who know, our intro music is from Unwritten Law. Um called Harmonic, and uh, we play it as our intro music. Um, our friend Jed Francis, uh, who works out here in Vegas, he used to have a podcast, uh, used to be out at Angel Park forever. Uh, he is from Vegas and was in the music space out here and had a band and knows a lot of people in the music space. And when we were talking to him, I was telling him, you know, we how much I thought that harmonic would be a great intro song to the podcast. And he said, I'm friends with Scott Russo. You want me to ask him? And I was like, Hell yeah, and Scott Russo's the drummer for unwritten law. And so he reached out, asked him, and Scott said, Yeah, go ahead. You know, our music, uh, it's yeah, it's copyrighted, but we allow people to use it. Um, so we're like, sweet, great. That intro, how long have we been playing that intro music? Two years, couple years now?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, at least two years, at least.

Matt:

At least, at least, right? Uh, so it's at the beginning of every episode. And last week I fucked up and didn't start the intro.

Joe:

That's right. Yeah, yeah.

Matt:

And so we were talking, and I was all kerfuffled, and I just couldn't get the flow going, so I stopped the show and replayed the intro. Well, Spotify went no. I guess because it wasn't at the beginning of the show, it was in the middle of the show. They flagged it as copyrighted materials and pulled the episode. And it was the first episode that I posted the video and audio. Um, I think there's one other one out there that we did when it tests so on Spotify.

Joe:

I didn't even know we had video and audio on Spotify until God Paint told me. He was like, I'm watching you on Spotify with video. What?

Matt:

Yeah, yeah. Uh so uh I like appealed, and I'm like, no, we we have the right to use it. We had permission from the creator of the the music, and uh they denied my appeal.

Joe:

Everybody says that. Everybody says that denied, denied, denied.

Matt:

So uh episode 354 does not exist on Spotify right now. Um I I have an audio version that I can re-upload to it, but if I do that, it re-uploads it to Buzz Sprout and puts it all out again. So um kind of not sure what to do with that. I I'm still back for yeah. So uh we'll see what happens.

Joe:

That could be that could be a uh that could be a question to win something in the future. Yeah. What episode does not what episode number does not appear on Spotify?

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And why? It's like when the 13th floor is missing from the elevator.

Joe:

Exactly, yeah.

Matt:

Yep.

Joe:

Remember that. That's a good trivia. Chase me live podcast trivia question.

Matt:

Yeah, so we'll see. But I do want to say I really enjoyed having the extra time to edit. The audio last week was super good because I was able to take out all that odd shit you're hearing in the background right now. Uh and and clean it up a little bit, a lot here and there. And so it was it was really good audio. Um thank you, uh, Google Gemini, the AI software. Man, you get stuck on something, you could ask that thing a question, and it's it's a lot better than Chat GBT, in my opinion. The world's changing. The world's changing. Just saying. So um that being said, we got anything else?

Joe:

Uh there is a couple things we probably missed. Um King Collins, new course coming to um Kohler. Did you see that?

Speaker 1:

No. You didn't see that? I thought I said that to you. I think he posted. Did he post that on Instagram?

Matt:

He did the Pinehurst 11, number 11.

Joe:

Yeah, the Cork Crunchhaw in the works. Yeah, that was announced a while ago. Um, but King Collins course coming to Kohler, introducing pure bed purebred farm, the newest Kohler experience designed by King Collins, featuring a 14-hole walking-only multi-loop layout. The course is due to open in 2027. 14-hole?

Speaker 2:

Nice.

Joe:

Yeah, multi-loop. So you can they can change pins, which I think it's I probably I would my assumption is if you remember back in some of the podcast episode a while back where they they um did a proposal for Pinehurst for uh multi-loop routing golf course at Pinehurst, where it was like purple, green, orange, red, and was like six routings. I think it's probably iterate iteration of this. And also Cliff sent it to me. I didn't even see it, and Cliff sent it to me because we all know Cliff loves Kohler. Um but yeah, that's some news this week.

Matt:

Sweet. Interesting. See uh Jeff Marsh was out at uh Wild Spring.

Joe:

Yeah, yeah. I think we can punch that ticket anytime, guys.

Matt:

Yeah, that's uh that's a good that's a good one. That is a good one. So um, oh, I know what else I can talk about. So uh in my rabbit holes that I go down, um, I found one about you, and I'm always watching and learning and watching seminars and watching training videos on you know how to uh enhance our YouTube experience. Um went down this chat with this guy about uh shorts and how shorts are you know good for some things, but they're not really good for other things. Uh and shorts are not a way to grow a subscriber base for people that want to watch your content. Uh that's long form, that's videos like this, the live that you're watching right now, because we keep these on the on the channel. Um, some of the other videos that we've posted, uh like I did the revere and the legacy, um, the Garson interviews, stuff like that, are you know really appealing to the people that want to watch that kind of stuff. Uh shorts are, you know, five seconds. Uh you have five seconds to grab somebody's attention. And if they watch it for 10, you win. Um, so uh I've stopped posting shorts to this channel. Uh, no longer, not gonna have any more short form content on this page. This page, this YouTube channel is just going to be uh long form live uh stuff that happens for the show. And so I created one called uh Chasing Daylight Clips. So we have another YouTube channel. I'll put that in the show notes uh as well. Uh it's just gonna be shorts. That's all it is. Just short form content. If you want to uh you know, go check out videos of us in short form style. That is where this stuff is gonna be. So uh chasing daylight clips, go follow that one if you have a minute. That new Mike Trout course, though? Oh yeah, yeah.

Joe:

That's yeah. Trout and Trout and Tiger. Tiger.

Matt:

Wow. Wow. Thanks, payment. Really appreciate that. No, that's that's one of the reasons why.

Joe:

Uh the people that find out I just stuck in love YouTube shorts more than any of the other shorts.

Matt:

They they're well.

Joe:

I don't I don't have I don't go on TikTok, so yeah.

Matt:

I I I want to use TikTok. I just it's just too much. Um yeah.

Joe:

It looks like fucking uh uh idiocracy.

Matt:

It's got electrolytes.

unknown:

Yeah.

Matt:

Leave me alone, I'm baiting.

Joe:

And that's a movie, guys. It's a movie, it's not not calling you idiocracy idiots. It's a movie.

Matt:

If you haven't seen idiocracy, or demolition man as well, too. Go go waste an afternoon and watch that.

Joe:

Wow.

Matt:

Yeah, so please go go follow Chasing Daylight clips. That's all it's gonna be. Short form. And if you want to see some really good short form content, there is some still on this page, uh, payment. So please, uh, you know, Austin, go go watch some of those. There's some good ones.

Joe:

There's some good good ones. I wouldn't say good good, but there's a few like pretty good good ones.

Matt:

There's some pretty good ones. Yeah, so all the all the episode clips that we post um from the show, those will now be on Chasing Daylight Clips. And you catch them on Instagram too. I'll be sharing them there as well. Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. Anything else? Anything else? Let's see where we're at. How many? Oh, we got four people in the giveaway. You got a one in four chance. Awesome. That's crazy.

Joe:

Uh, I will say there is a show on my whatnot tonight. Uh, so go bookmark that. I'm not gonna go live, but um go bookmark it though, bookmark it, uh, of course, because I don't have a set schedule and I do it when I can, and uh, you know, you never know. So uh life is life, and whatnot is for the homies, but life is for the fam. So I don't know, I don't know.

Matt:

Mike Sippy message last week. He's like, Joe, aren't you guys going live in like 20 minutes? Joe's got a show bookmarked for 702, and I'm like, Yeah, he does it every day.

Joe:

Yeah, well, that's the thing. I don't know when I'm gonna go, but also, you know, if if if I'm just gonna if I'm just gonna pop on for a quick minute, I'm not gonna use up my show that has you know a lot of bookmarks, so then I move that one. So I I wish I could go every day. It's it's just not possible. So uh I just I throw them out there when I can and hopefully you catch me. Yeah, like like Chris says, everybody moves their shows to try and accumulate bookmarks. There's people that do it for months and months and months, like getting ready for their first show.

Matt:

So those emails show, all the bookmarks stay with it.

Joe:

Yeah, if if I change like my show tonight, I think has like 50 or maybe 60. As long as as long as I change the date to tomorrow, the bookmarks stay with it. But if I yeah, I can move it, I can move it to 2027, all the bookmarks stay with it. But the whole thing is is if it's in the page when people are browsing which shows are coming up, they see one and then they'll bookmark it. You know, so it's like if you're on there every day and people browse and they see your show, they'll bookmark it. Okay, and then you move it to the next day, and people the people browsing, they'll bookmark it, you know. And it's you're you're collecting bookmarks. So you have bookmarks and get people get notified when you do a show. So that's all it is. Bookmark all the shows.

Matt:

Go live and immediately hit create raid.

Joe:

Payman is the master of the rate of one.

Matt:

It's so funny when like like Tyler gets rated. It's like, thanks for bringing yourself to my show.

Joe:

I did, I did get some new ball markers today. These are all my seller ball markers. Anyone that's a seller that I bought a ball marker from is in here currently. I got uh Matt's today, I got Surfshacks today. Did the influencer thing, a little Surfshack? Shout out, Surfshack, and I got Papa Bear, Davey, Collab, and then uh the original pink hat rocker himself, Davy does it. I got this one today. So those are my newest ones, but all of these are uh also TNT's. Yours is down here too, but I don't think it's in the back. Did you get one?

Speaker 3:

Did you get one of Gymnasium's new ones?

Joe:

Uh I think there was an issue with his shipping because I did order one and um I haven't seen it. It's like a it's yeah, it's like a Seamus kind of. I got some extras if you guys want some.

Speaker 2:

Or you can buy them, whatever you want to do.

Joe:

Yeah, I did get one. I did get one, but I haven't seen it yet. I think he said something happened with that entire shipment or something. So got paint in the house. What up, got paint? Alright, guys, while you're here, read that banner at the bottom. All you gotta do is type in the comments. I want to win a Garson. And we're gonna pull this very soon because we're already on an hour and nine minutes.

Speaker 4:

Yep.

Joe:

That's all you gotta do, and you'll be entered.

Matt:

Right here. Garson quad tour. The red lizard texture, dragon texture. I don't know what the call it. I call it dragon skin. It looks like dragon skin.

Speaker 4:

Okay. It's already in oh yeah. See, it doesn't count.

Matt:

Twice, so um, okay. I think we're I think we're good for tonight.

Joe:

I think we're gonna pull it.

Matt:

I think we're gonna pull it. Let me uh bring up that screen.

Joe:

Okay, you guys go now. Like eight seconds. Fifteen seconds is the maximum way, guys.

Matt:

Uh share screen, share window, share it away.

Joe:

Uh T wants the win. Alright. Gotta be present too, guys. Payment failed. Payment failed. Rigged. Rigged. Rigged.

Matt:

Rigged. Congratulations, sir. Hey, you know what? That's what happens when you had a good chance, eh?

Joe:

Need one for my Goodwood.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, we need to see pics of that Goodwood. I haven't seen it.

Matt:

Did uh Vanderslice bought the uh the brass monkey Goodwood on the auction.

Joe:

Oh really?

Speaker 1:

It looks it looks so good.

Matt:

Yeah, it's I was putting a new grip on it for him, and uh yeah. It's I sent a picture today. I go, hey, look what wandered into my garage today. And he's like, nice.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it was nice, really nice.

Matt:

So let's see, I can take that banner down now. We don't need that. I did fix this too. Now, this doesn't mess up the vertical, so that's good.

Joe:

Yeah, if you guys need a if you guys if you want a Gars and golf, uh you didn't win one. And you did win one, or you didn't get one on one of my shows, or you want a different one, or whatever it is, um, go to their website and use code daylight 15 at checkout to say 15%. That also helps us immensely. So yeah, and you can you can try the different ones that I don't have on whatnot. All the ones on whatnot like aren't available. So if you want like a standard, more standard one, go to their website, use code daylight 15.

Matt:

A couple of you people that bought the smooth quad tour that we had. Yeah, I didn't know that those had the Abraham answer logo right here.

Joe:

Could it have only been that one though?

Matt:

I don't know. You uh do you have any more?

Joe:

No, they're all gone. I only had like three of them, four of them.

Matt:

Yeah, I think there was, I mean, and they weren't tagged that they were answers on our list, so uh that was kind of a surprise.

Joe:

Yeah, they had an Abraham answer logo on the top, supposedly. At least one of them did.

Matt:

If you bought one of these on Joe's show and it's got the Abraham Answer logo, let us know because uh scored special edition.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's pretty good.

Matt:

Yeah, I hear that a lot. I never win a buyer's, but every once in a while, the followers, the odds are never in my favor. Yeah, you never win until you win.

Joe:

Never win until you win. There's always the chance to win.

Matt:

That is true. Always that chance. So, all right, Joe. Uh, wrap this bad boy up and we'll have a little uh chase in darkness.

Joe:
