It depends. It depends. Uh, so Scotty was doing uh Scotty things this past weekend, uh winning the American Express. Congrats to him on his 20th victory, second youngest ever to get to 20 victories behind Tiger Woods, only 150, or not second youngest, second fastest, uh 150 compared to Tigers 90. Uh, we played Legacy this weekend, and it was surprisingly in very good shape. I think everybody can agree. The course was really good. The greens were probably the best I've ever seen them since the days of the 90s. Uh I've never seen them in better shape. But I do have a beef with that tag marshal. Kind of got on my nerves. Uh, the PGA show wrapped up. There was a ton going on from there. We can talk about that. Uh, next week, I misspoke last week and said it was this episode, but next week we're gonna have Jonah from Precision Pro on talking all about their brand and the PGA show. Our boy, our boy Rocky is moving to Alabama. Rocky from The Godfathers, packing up the chickens and the kids and moving to Alabama, kind of doing the reverse Beverly Hillbillies. He's going to the hills uh with his family. Uh, let's see, the VGN event. First event of the season is at Rhodes Ranch on 221. It is sold out. I got an extension and an extension. We have 84 paid players for that event. I'm not even playing it, and I'm freaking excited. Joe's not playing it either.

It has been the redheaded stepchild of Vegas Golf for a very long time because they have had some financial issues, they've had owner issues, they've had you know putting money into the course issues, and now they finally got a management team and a team in place that knows what the hell they're doing, and they're going to try to make that course as good as they can or as long as they can until it becomes houses eventually. Yeah, and yeah, I'm excited that it is in really good shape because it oh, yeah, it's needed, it was really good. Yeah, the greens were absolutely fantastic.

They got a couple bunkers that need some help, but yeah, but that's like 90% of the courses out here. Yeah, that's true. But the the bunkers that do have good sand, it's good sand, it's not hard to get out of the bunkers. You know, it's there are a couple that need sand that I'm sure they'll eventually get to them, but uh for the most part, it's in just rake them. Oh, dude, like eight whole eight.

I made a nine on that hole. I don't understand. We the very first hole, you know, I didn't hit a good approach shot into one, and it came up short, and I was in that bunker, and so I'm walking down and I look, and there's footprints like over the rake, like they step over, they stepped over the rake to play their shot.

It boggles my mind, and we watched the group in front of us like three different while I was paying attention, three different times climb out of a bunker and walk right to the cart.

And you know, it's like I will say the few times the few times I was in the bunker, I had to walk all the way around the bunker to get the rake and then come back to my ball. So people are just lazy, yeah.

We watched that at at uh Coyote Springs one time. We were on, I can't remember what hole it was, but we were it was a part three, or it's a pro shot in Trey, waiting for the guy to climb out of the bunker. Oh, you know where it was? It was at uh it was at Boulder Creek on uh gosh, what hole is that? Oh, I can't remember what it was, but we were waiting for the guy and he climbed quick. It's the par three before on Desert Hawk, the par three, so number eight. It's the downhill par three with that big huge bunker in the front left.

Man, like when my and though the one I had uh when I hit the face at Legacy on three, plugged in the face, you know, and you gotta you gotta push the sand down to get a stance, which I was one leg in, one leg out.

Uh, I got yelled at by my kid today because I responded on YouTube to somebody that was talking shit about music on the course. The the did you see it? Yeah, yeah, Halloween video. Yeah, and I didn't even realize there was music playing in the background on that, right? And you know, turn the goddamn music, get some headphones, blah blah. And it just I am not a massive proponent of music on the golf course. If you want to listen to music, fine, it doesn't bother me. I don't care. Me personally, if I was out playing by myself, I'm not gonna have any music on just because I kind of like playing golf that way. But if somebody else wants to play music in the group, I don't care. I don't hear it most of the time, anyways. And I I just don't understand. Like, there were four of us in the group, we all are enjoying listening to the music. There's nobody else around us, you know. When we come up to other people, we turn it down so nobody else can hear it. I mean, what it's just just shut up.

It was insane. I think people just need to be aware, really.

Quantum Driver Talk And Fitting Insights

The mirror. I mean, if it helps you, if you help you, I play blades because I feel more confident with them. I just love the way they feel. They're very I know what I'm gonna get. You're an incredible. I've heard of people practicing with a blade seven iron or something just to help kind of dial in the the striking, which because if you miss the center, you're gonna feel it, and then you just work on hitting it in the center. So I could see it as a benefit, but I would say it's probably better to just play your clubs. Get better with our clubs, you know.

Carl, if you are gonna do something like that, do it with a three-iron. Because if you can hit a blade three-iron, you'll be able to hit any other blade you got or any other cavity back club. But yes, stick with stick with, you know, those are incredibly hard to hit. And if you are trying to improve, it's I mean, yeah, it'll make you a better ball striker, but I still don't think that's a play until you are like a single-digit handicap or a scratch golfer to where you can consistently hit the middle of the golf club every time.

I mean, blades are blades, they're hard to hit for a reason because the pros that play them hit the same spot on the face every single time. And until you can do that, it's not even worth the time, in my opinion. You'll just hurt yourself.

I think uh, well, I I was gonna bring that up, Heyman. Um, I think if you're gonna grind, right? If you're gonna like grind and like really practice, and you take a blade and you're working on your swing changes, and you're like gonna grind, not just at the range, like in a net for an hour or two, and you're practicing and trying to perfect something. I mean, that's what I did. I took a blade and just like swung and just worked on things I was doing, and you don't see the flight, so it doesn't discourage you on what you're gonna do. Hey guys, out doesn't discourage you on how you're hitting it. Yeah, I know, but you'll feel we're losing viewers in Denmark right now. Yeah, but you feel if you feel the center on a blade multiple times, it will give you confidence in other ways, and you're not you're hitting into a net, so you're not seeing the flight, you're like, Oh, I didn't that's what I did when I started playing. I took a blade and I just hit into a net like at least an hour every night. Whatever works for you is the big exactly, exactly. Whatever works for you 100%.

I I don't know why some of the people were there, you know? It's like okay, cool, you're at the PGA show, but what what is that what is that doing for me? Practice With Blades? Real Advice

I think I think it's changing a lot, right? It's changing into like film my booth, film what I have, film this, film that, and send it out to your audience so we can get some hype behind it, and it's it's turning into something different. And I'm really curious, like, even from last year to this year, changed a lot, yeah. And I think next year is even gonna be even crazier, like with inviting influencers and showing products and going live, and um, and there's so there's so many um great products that are showcased that are new as well, and new products from brands that we also know and love. But I think it's it this year's PGA show is interesting because uh yeah, I don't know, it was just interesting, and I think I think the PGA show is changing, but that doesn't take away from the great products that we know and love and the new products that come out onto the market.

It was, you know, you had you had to be in in print media, you had to be in online media, you had to work for a company, and that's how you got in. And it was it was for the PGA professionals and the club pros to go meet with brands and stock up their inventory for the coming year, you know, the spring, summer, fall releases. It was a way for them to see the stuff before it came out, lock up deals, lock up contracts, you know, meet with new brands. I mean, I remember the first time I went, the Puka booth was tiny, and then like three years later, it's like the corner of the facility, you know, and it's that's that's what those that show was for. It's for those brands to get their eyes on the PGA people that are selling their products. And now with the change with YouTube golf and social media, um so many people just go. And it it is it is a networking event now. It's it's to go to meet not just the brands, but the people behind the brands and the influencers of the brands, everybody come together in one spot and and hang out. And it, I mean, it's cool, it's very it's a it's changed dramatically. Um, but I I don't know. We'll see, we'll see what happens in the next couple years.

Oh, absolutely, a hundred percent. I mean, this this was a dead show three years ago. Yeah, I mean, Roars was there three, four years ago, and it it was a ghost town. COVID just annihilated the PGA merchandise show, and it it was gone. I didn't think it was gonna come back, and still a lot of companies I mean don't invest the money. I remember uh one year when the the SLDR, the slider came out, TaylorMade had like a whole side of the facility in the corner, just was all it was massive. And that year Callaway had the giant tank in the middle of the floor. I mean, it was massive, and then you know, Taylor Maid's not there anymore, you know, they don't they don't do it, and it's like you know, some of the brands have realized hey, what we used to get out of this, we're not getting it anymore.

Yeah, you know, so also think it's some businesses that come up with something, they might see it as a get rich quick scheme, too, right? Like they come up with the product. Like I saw some crazy, funky, dumb products that were showcased on Instagram, and it's like, hey, this is our opportunity. Let's get a booth, let's go network and share this thing that we created that's pointless, and you know, they sell they sell a bunch, and then nobody gains anything from it, and then hey, those those booth they won't be there next year.

Those booth spaces are not cheap, they're not cheap at all, they are not cheap. I remember, gosh, like I said, it was 10 years ago when Roars was gonna take strokes gain there, and you know, a a 10, I think it was a four by ten or five by ten spot was ridiculously expensive.

Yeah, well, I've been in pain for a while. Uh and I we had fittings at Spanish Trail on Friday, and uh, I was just tinkering around, making a couple swings, wasn't planning on going hard or anything, just wanted to hit a couple balls and uh started looking at some of the numbers and My dynamic loft, which if anybody doesn't know what dynamic loft is, that's the that's the loft that you apply at impact, but what the club is at impact. And I like I like to flip the club, and so I add a lot of loft. And so I've been working on that for a while with Tim, and it has gotten a lot better. Uh, but as this pain in my leg has gotten worse, it's it's come back, you know. And so I mean it's a distance killer, you know, you're the the ball spins and goes up and doesn't penetrate. Um, so I just started trying to manipulate my body and my swing to help with my dynamic loft. And an hour later, I'm like, holy shit, I've swung way too much right now. And uh I got home that night and I the the knee was hurting pretty bad and uh got up the next day. And normally if I don't swing, I'm okay and I can play, but uh swinging that much and then going and playing by the third hole, I was toast.
