We can chat about if you guys want to. Uh top story, of course, was Akshay's win out at the Arnold Palmer. Uh coming from behind. Daniel Berger was leading the whole entire tournament and uh didn't didn't play the last hole very well. And uh so they went to a playoff. Akshay won on the first hole. So that was good. Uh, did you guys catch the Gary Woodland interview?

Uh, if everybody doesn't know, he had a brain lesion and had it removed. Um, but ever since then he's been dealing with PTSD like really bad. And uh he he said that he wanted to come out and tell everybody about this because he's kind of faking being okay because he wants to be, you know, not a way to be out there, be and be a player and compete. And uh he's not okay. I goosebumps thinking about this man, yeah. Yeah, crazy, but crazy emotional interview and just seeing him broken. It's it's yeah, he broke down for sure.

Local Golf: Course Takes And Layouts

The guy five bucks, 25 bucks, crazy steal, and that is I mean, there's seven of them. That's what four dollars each, not even$350. I hit up good boy originals. I said, Hey, I mean, I don't necessarily need it myself, but if you want to borrow these and do like a print for what you do, because he makes shout out good boy originals, used to work at Callaway, started taking pictures of cool shit and uh selling prints. If you guys don't if you've never heard of Good Boy Originals, go check them out. But and he he messaged me back, he said that is some dope shit. And he didn't he didn't confirm that he wanted to use them, but I let him know that he could if he wanted to. Not trying to brag. I mean, I'm just letting you know, you know, you if you get out there and hunt and you look for things, you're gonna find things, you're gonna find things.

Get out there and find some stuff. Yeah, so the the Garson grip, I'll do I'll do our little spiel. Uh, you know, we've shown you images of it right here, right? So they're this year they are doing the major, the 2026 major collection. This one is called the Stadium. Yeah, it's a stadium venue, the 17th hole. The guy it's it's an amazing atmosphere. It's arguably one of the best tournaments of the year because the field is super, super stacked. There's no pro-am. Did you see Kevin Kisner on Barstool talking about why it's so good? I saw a clip. I I don't remember what it was. Wow. I mean, they take care of the guys. It's it's a special event for the for the players to be there and compete in it. Primo conditions, amazing golf course, hard golf course, and a lot of great history. Uh so they they're gonna have uh five grips this year for this major collection. Yes, the players is not a major, but everybody calls it the fifth major, so they're gonna why not? Let's do it.

So, yes, we'll have uh they'll have one for the masters, they'll have one for the US Open, they'll have one for the British Open, and one for the players or PGA Championship. So keep your eye out for those coming forth. Only a hundred produced once they're gone, they are gone.

So what I love so much about the players is that course forces you to shape shots. I think that that's what that course does. You have to shape it, yeah, and that I think that's what makes makes TPC saw grass so good, and also Pete Dye and his uh craft and creativity, like it will fool you. And I don't know if you saw that clip where they were asking, What is your uh PGH or somebody, but they were like, What's the hole that scares you the most? And a it what did they say, four? A lot of them were saying four. Where it's like it's like a birdie hole, if or it's three or four, I can't remember. But I'm like, I never would have thought, I never would have thought it was that one. Because it's like a little cut off the T. I mean, the what it runs out, you can get into the water, and then it's a little chipskiing or to the to the green or the hole. But that was interesting to see.

I don't know which one you're talking about, but yeah, it's but I I think that's what makes that course so good and the players itself so good, is because the course is super demanding of you having control of your golf ball. Like you gotta cut it, you gotta draw it, like you know, 16. You have to hit it, you gotta hit a draw, you know what I mean? If you want to get a shot at two, and the dude, there's so many instances on that golf course where those cut guys, that's uh I don't know.

Yeah, you think on 18 forces you, it forces you. Yeah, well, I saw also on 18. They're like, You just you just line up to the line of the water and you hit your cut, and if you overcut it, you're in the middle of the fairway. If you baby cut it, you're on the left side. If you swipe it, you're in the rough, you know what I mean? So it's I would I I JJ Spawn was the only one that said 18 was the scariest hole, which I think is tournament was on the line coming down the street.

I Nori, yeah. We're not huge fans of Arroyo, so curious what you think about it. I that for us, mostly it's layout. That the layout, like you got a drive, a couple blocks play, like you know, adventure through Aunt Aunt Jemima's house, and it's not fluid, it's not fluid. That's the thing.

I absolutely love, absolutely love that golf course.

The Players Course Strategy

Yeah, that's a that's a hard hold eagle too, because that second shot is not not a short one. Yeah, yeah. Made a killer putt there. The wind was not fun. Yeah, I bet. It's been breezy, breezy. Now we got a heat wave coming. Yeah, we've had a fairly light winter, really. Oh, like it's this has not been the winter. We've had an extended fall with a couple cold days. Yep, and then almost at 100 next week. Well, you know, we've been playing golf out at Cirquet for a really long time, and it was Rio Seiko forever. So hey, call it what it's called. But if you ever hear us talking about Rio Seiko, it's that's Cirquette because that's what it's always gonna be does. Yeah, yeah. All right, um, let's talk about Akshay, because he's catching some heat now that he's in the spotlight even more. Ashtray, uh Tiger called him. Is he anchoring? What do you guys think?

Yeah, it definitely looks like it. Now, I don't know if just to clarify, if the anchoring is the grip of the putter to your anchor to your body, if he's got his finger over the butt end of the putter and that's touching his body, or anything touching his body is anchoring. But there's no space there, and yeah, it looks it looks very anchorish.

Hey, they're focused on their game, they could give a you know. Now maybe that he wins, now they'll maybe look at it, but I don't think it's a concern of anybody's that's playing the tournament, it's just people outside. You know, Bernhard Longer's been getting chastised for exactly ever.

If Leatherface Leatherface, if you can see a gap on Leatherface's putter, then Axe needs to have that same gap. Yeah. You know, because Leatherface is the the legend of the anchor. And if he's not touch, if he's not that close to his chest, then you shouldn't be.

So it's just where you need to have no way for them to enforce it because in order for them to enforce it, they'd have to okay, freeze. Yeah, go move, go up and you know, take a take a scorecard, you know, and see if they can rub it between his body and the club. It's it's a it's a silly rule that is unenforceable because you know they'd have to do something on the spot.

It's a dumb rule. I I honestly feel like even if he was anchoring, it's still not easy to no, it's not easy. I've tried you still got to match up your ball and your speed, your line and your speed, and everybody else is gonna have that same opportunity, and he's doing it with a putter that's like fucking 50 inches long, you know. So I it's one of those dumb rules like hitting out of a divot, you know. It's just some of these some of these rules just need to go out the window. Yeah, yeah.

I I would I've uh how do I say that? I like what Harvey Peanick used to say in the putting stroke, your hands need to be touching. End of story. Your hands need to be touching each other in a putting stroke, and uh if they went to that rule, then the long putters would go away.
