In this episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast, the crew dives into the latest buzz surrounding Tiger Woods as he prepares for Augusta National. We break down the "bionic" look of his leg and debate whether he still has what it takes to win another Green Jacket or if it’s time to walk off into the sunset.

Joe recounts his recent trip to Southern California, sharing his experiences at the "bougie" Scotty Cameron Gallery and the community vibes of Goat Hill Park. Plus, we review new gear from True Linkswear and Travis Mathew, discuss the recent VGN tournament at Laughlin Ranch, and look ahead to the fast-approaching Masters.

In this episode:

  • Tiger Woods at Augusta: Debating Tiger's health, his "robotic" knee rehab, and his chances at the Masters.
  • SoCal Golf Tour: Joe’s "homecoming" at Goat Hill Park and a trip to the Scotty Cameron Gallery in Encinitas.
  • New Kicks: First impressions of the True Linkswear Anti-Gravity shoes and the new Travis Mathew "Air Max" style golf shoes.

He's just running a little bit late. It's his boy's birthday today, and he's still gonna do the show. Kudos to him for you know, still dedicating his his passion for the game and the show to be here. So Joe will be here shortly. In the meantime, Dan's here, Jeremy's here, and uh, I'm here, of course.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, yeah.

Matt

Tiger Woods On TV Again

Matt

It just dropped. What is that? Hey, thank you so much for being here. We appreciate it. So, some of the things we're gonna chat about this evening. There's a little bit of a little bit of buzz going on in the golf space right now. Um, somebody named I don't know you may have heard of him, uh, Tiger Woods. Uh oh, Joe is here. Hang on, let me get it.

Jeremy

Joe's back from the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet.

Matt

Yo, where's the party hat?

Joe

It's at Baskin Robbins. Uh, we ordered ice cream and uh they were finishing up, so I I headed home. We drove separately so we could be here for the Chase of Daylight podcast. The commitment is is spectacular.

Matt

I love it. Love it. Look at him. Way to be here. Missed last week, but here this week. Hey Dave, thank you so much. Really appreciate being here. Uh so Joe, we're we we just started talking about uh what's going on in the buzz in the golf world right now. Uh, this guy, you you may have heard of him, uh, Tiger Woods, uh, was playing on TV today. Yeah, it was crazy. Telling you that leg ain't right. It's not looking good.

SPEAKER_03

It's not looking, it looks very tiny. Yes, it does. Very tiny.

Matt

It it looks like those legs on that singer from the band in Star Wars at the cantina that you know that just had a body and then he just sticks straight down. Yeah, dude, it's it doesn't look natural. Ionic for sure. Little bit of an expert on knee rehab right now. Yeah, uh that knee looks that looks robotic. It needs some lucky. I think he's lucky to have them, to be honest with you. That's true. Very lucky to be walking, and you know what? I would not be upset if he walked off into the sunset and said, I'm done playing professional golf. I'd be pissed. I mean, it wouldn't bother me though. I mean, do you you want to see do you want to see Tiger out there shooting 81 81 at Augusta in his final golf outing?

Joe

No, I mean I mean, I think he he missed his moment, he should have just walked off after 2019. Like, yeah, yeah, maybe now he he's he's he's hunting for that moment again, it feels like, you know, and hopefully he gets it, probably not, but hopefully, I think him walking off after that masters would have been a great send-off, could have gone into the booth a little bit, you know.

Matt

Yeah, go play on the scene tour. Interesting. Yeah, I agree.

Dan

Right new cars all around. Yep, I'd love to see that. Then John Daly can hang out.

Jeremy

Oh, yeah. Speaking of John Daly, did you see him fall down the hill and two times? I loved it. Yeah, loved that's chasing after him.

SPEAKER_04

That was good. It was so funny.

Jeremy

I didn't see where the shot ended up.

Matt

I was too worried about his well-being, but yeah, bouncing off rocks, rolling down a hill. Yeah, and right, we all would watch Tiger on the champions tour. Definitely 100%. That would definitely boost the champions tour instantly. Instantly. Uh, I mean, there's a lot of guys that you know our era of golf that have come and gone and and are now playing there that we recognize Justin Leonard is on there, Zach Johnson's playing on there, Phil was playing on there before he got stupid. Yeah, uh, so yeah, it's I mean, I I think he's gonna make a go at Augusta. I really do. I think this was he's playing Augusta. This was for him to see how he feels out there competing. I mean, it's indoor golf. He hit some great shots, you know. That he had an amazing stinger, he had a great drive on the Jupiter Lings hole. Um, you know, he's got like he feels he can win Augusta again. I think he feels like he can win masters again. It's it's just gonna be walking the course because that's not yeah, that's not an E that's not something where you enjoy the walk.

Joe

It's it's hard. I would fully enjoy that walk.

Matt

Oh, I would too. But you know, we as spectators, we go one day and watch those of us who are fortunate to go and check out the place. You go check it out for one day and just you know, you log 25,000 steps trying to see as much as you possibly can. You're not there for six days walking that course playing golf, you know, a little bit different. Shout out J Mac. Yeah, Joe. How did uh great great segue, thank you? We'll we'll get to that. We'll get that in a minute. Let me go with some of the other things. All right, uh Scotty withdrew from the Houston Open this week, so he's not playing in his lead up to the to Augusta. Uh Matty Fitz won the valve bar. Uh, we can chat about that. Bryson beat Rom again to win another live title. And uh and this is the last chance for people to earn their spot into Augusta. As you know, the the you got to be within the top 50 or win this week.

SPEAKER_03

I can't wait.

Matt

Um, I got a book here that I'm gonna share with everybody. It's called the golf bucket list. The uh the publishing company was kind enough to send me one of these, so I'll tell everybody all about this later on in the show. Um already told Joe this is what we're giving away tonight. Nice Garson Pistol, 17-inch quad tour, non-tapper.

Joe

Shout out, Garson.

Matt

Just hit the website. And then I got some I got some kicks back here. I got some some new kicks back here.

Joe

I need to get some of those. I need I want to get some.

Matt

We will be chatting about that. Uh we are not sponsored by Travis Matthew nor True, although True is a very, very fond friend of the program. So is Travis Matthew. So uh give you my thoughts on these so far. Don't have any gameplay in them yet, just some practice and somewhere around the house. So we'll uh nobody wants to chat about Matty Fitz with all the other golf news going on. Yeah, that is that is kind of true. Four days walking for handicap players, no bueno dance. Exactly. Exactly. All right, Joe, gallery. Tell us all about it.

Joe

Well, speaking of walking, let me start there. Since we're talking about walking, uh I did go to the I did go to the gallery, but uh the day after I went to the gallery, and we'll go into the gallery after, but Segway. Uh we walked. I met up with uh Trevor Larson, Larson Goff, also uh the marketing guy for Power Built, awesome dude. Met him uh what is that like four years ago, something like that. And uh it's his home course, he lives close, and uh no tea times walked up with Larson, squeezed us in. We walked the front nine, which goathill is not an easy walk. It is up and down, treacherous terrain. But let me tell you what, every time I step up to that place, it just hits me right right in the feels. It just it's just vibes all day. It feels like a little community, a little surf shack where everybody knows your name. Nobody knew me, but uh it just it just it just feels that way. The Pro Shop is very different. Um, somebody's out there grilling, they're playing like music outside. Uh, there's a kids' course, uh range with uh foresight and an awesome golf course. John Ashworth is walking around. Trevor says, What up to John Ashworth? And oh wow.

Dan

Uh he was really walking around there.

Joe

Yeah, yeah. He was he walked right by. He said, What's up to Larson and um John Ashworth? Uh bunch of dudes. Uh, like the the the marketing director for Reef was there, met him. Uh, the marketing the old marketing director for Link Soul got to talk to him for a while about like we were talking we after the round, we sat down and we were just talking like masters and uh grand slams and like courses we want to we were talking about chambers bay, bandon, land man, like it was just it's just one of those places where you feel right at home, and it's I love that place. And when I told my uh my wife I was gonna go play there, she's like, Didn't you party play there? I'm like, Yeah, but you know, I don't know where else to play. Like, and we pulled up and it just it just feels like you're home again. And it's I love I love Goat Hill and I highly recommend it to anybody to go play it. It's just there's just something about that place that encompasses like golf itself and character and uh friends and moments, and you you know, totally my vibe. It was it was it's a great place. Highly recommend playing there.

Jeremy

But yeah, on a SoCal trip for sure.

Joe

It's so good, it's so good. And they they did they've done a lot to the course too. They like fixed 18 green bunkers, uh, they moved some teas around, they moved some bunkers, and they moved some things, and and it was in great shape, too. The greens were rolling, and you're on the side of a little mountain, a little hill.

Matt

And um weather is so good for golf courses.

Scotty Cameron Gallery First Impressions

Joe

Yeah, it was a it was fantastic. I love that place. Um, but but we did go to the gallery, uh went there Thursday morning, uh, showed up like three minutes after opening, and I was six sixteenth in line. Uh, it's a little uh it's a little it's a little bougie for your boy, a little too bougie for your boy. Uh which I love it, right? Quarterway hats, yeah. No corduroy hats, no link sold, no true, just Peter Millar, and you know, it's yeah, like shout out Scotty Cameron, of course, killer, killer putter maker, and has has made made his name in the game, but just not completely my vibe. Uh, the only thing I really wanted for myself was a t-shirt, and they were sold out of extra larges in every t-shirt they had, so um, I didn't get anything for me, but um I got a bunch of stuff to uh run on whatnot at some point. Um, but it was cool to see some like you know, the little um things they had, the drawings and the putters, and uh cool to experience it for sure. But um yeah, it was it was it was cool to see finally being there. Uh I wish I had a circle T putter with me so I could bought more things. Um, and you know, I was waiting around like you know, because it's kind of like a boutique, you know, like our sizes are in the back and not being there before. I know it comes from like the streetwear kind of flavor of old school um streetwear boutiques, but you know, it's like I want some grips and I'm like standing by the grips, looking at the grips, nobody's helping me. And um it's just not not not not completely my vibe, but uh I get it and it was cool to experience, and I'm sure I'll be going back. It just sucks that they don't have everything you want all the time, and you got to go there often to pick up things, you know what I mean? Like to get what you actually want. They had no golf balls, which I really wanted to get some golf balls, no golf balls. Um but yeah, it was cool. It was it was it was it was cool to finally experience it's not a soul golfer place though.

Jeremy

No, no, no, it's not. Did you go? Did you get the donuts that are right by it?

Joe

Uh I did not, but the kids and Katie did, yes. And I had one later on. Um and it was good, yeah, it was good, good stuff. We did also get the coffee right there. The coffee was great. Uh we went into the kids' spot next to it. Um it's a cool little area, too. That was my first time in Incinitas. Yeah, awesome, cool little town. But they didn't have any like super cool like circle tees out or anything, of course. No, like you know, it was just all the stuff, the rack stuff you'll see other places that were out that you could try. Um yeah. Did you ask for a fitting, Scotty? No, but there was no, there was there was people that were like waiting for their fitting too. And I didn't know I I saw someone go in, and the the fitting is like they have like a sliding glass door off to the side. Um, and I saw like a little peek of it, which was cool. Um at the old video, yeah, right. Yeah, yeah. You peek under like this. I mean, Scotty's gotta be never there, right? Like Scotty's never there. No, I doubt it. Yeah, no. He lives pretty close to there, but I doubt he's in their build shop there where they build everything for everyone is can't be there because it's not a big place.

Jeremy

Probably in a warehouse in Carlsbad or something.

Matt

Sandwiched right next to Titalus.

Joe

Yeah, probably, yeah, probably, but or inside the titles building.

Matt

Yeah.

Joe

No, I should be in my own.

Dan

Did you find any uh did you find any good bean and cheeses down there?

Joe

Uh no, dude. That was one of the things I really wanted to try and find, but um I did not find anything spectacular. Uh obviously with the fam and the kids, and it was just hard to get around. And we did Legoland and Beach and blah blah, you know, all that stuff. And there were so many other places I wanted to go check out, but it was family vacation, so I didn't get to go see many places. But I did go to Roberto's number 13. Saw that I did get a bean and cheese burrito from there, and it was solid. Uh fish taco from uh Roberto's number 13, Numero. Um that was good. Roberto's is very different out there, very different out there. Also, yeah, it's just different, it's better. It's better, different. Like the taco, the fish taco, like the the tortillo was like looked homemade, you know what I mean? Like that. So uh the salsa's better. Uh the vibes are always, of course, better because they still got the yellow walls and the red trim, you know, like the old school Robert's. But um yeah, very different from Vegas Roberto's. But I didn't do any thrifting any what thrifting, you go looking. No, I there was I I wanted to, but no, no, no. There was a plate against sports bias. I was gonna I was trying to hit there, and then the day we were leaving, there was like a factory sample cell for Link Soul, and uh couldn't hit that, but I just found that out like while we were driving out. Uh no, I didn't have I didn't have much time. Bean and cheese, go get an Al Pastor. Yeah, you're new here. Uh Punch It. Um, I'm a big fan of the B and C burrito, but I do love Al Pastor as well. Yeah, it's not El Pastor, it's Al Pastorway.

Jeremy

I have a quick question about Roberto's. Did it smell like fabuloso?

Joe

Uh, I don't recall the smell. No, it did not. It most I know what you're saying.

Dan

Just in the bathrooms.

Joe

I know what you're saying. Bathroom was closed. Fabuloso. That is very, that is very uh La Raza, right there. The fabuloso smell is very La Raza. So I know what you're talking about, but uh no, it did not. Actually, we did go to a thrift store because Katie needs something, and uh they didn't have any clubs or anything, but they did have some super sick Johnny O shorts that were not my size. Uh they had a couple other things that were not my size, so I didn't grab anything. Jalen.

Matt

How was Legoland?

Joe

Legoland's cool. I mean, I I highly recommend it for younger kids for sure. Uh it's but definitely not as many people as Disneyland or anything like that, which is good. Uh it was fucking hot that day, so um but yeah, Legoland was cool. It was my first time. Quick rides, quick lines. Um, got to see fucking Petco Park built out of Legos and the Las Vegas Strip built out of Lagos, which was cool.

SPEAKER_01

Pretty cool, yeah.

Jeremy

Yeah, we took the girls over here in Yahoo. It was like an awesome trip.

Joe

Yeah, yeah.

Matt

Well, welcome back.

Joe

Welcome back. There's a lot of people I didn't get to see either. I was trying to catch up with Papa Bear Club Works, I was trying to catch up with Eagle Buff, uh Pedro CP. Uh it's just you know, not enough time in the day, and and California, California being so far spread apart. I was trying to meet up with Jared, I was debating on driving out to Victoria Club on Friday morning and Saturday, but that's an hour away to go playing this game, but just too hard with the family.

Masters Picks And Augusta Storylines

Matt

Yeah, but it was a good time. So cow. So cow. Oh, what's this thing? Hang on. Missed at the beginning of the show, but can we talk about how Bryson is on absolute heater going into Augusta? Of course we can.

Joe

It's a par 60 for him. What are you talking about?

Matt

Yeah, right. Or is it 62? I can't remember what he said. What did he say? It's just par 68 or something like that. He said something weird, yeah, something crazy. Uh this is the thing. I he's playing well. He is playing well, but I don't know. I I mean, it's hard to compare uh a course in South Africa to Augusta. It's hard to compare a course in Singapore to Augusta. Yes, he is playing well. He's he's he's playing the the the course that he has in front of him, and he's playing it well. It's not the masters. So, hey, would I love to see Bryson win the Masters? Absolutely. I I mean yeah, absolutely love to see him win the Masters. I mean, with Scotty kind of in a little funk right now, and Rory kind of in a little funk right now, Tiger playing on a bionic knee. Um, there's now is a time to jump, you know. Yeah, him and Rom definitely are gonna be, you know, a top of the of the favorite list. Um yeah, I hope Ricky makes it too. He's he is somebody that needs to. I would love to see him in a green jacket.

Joe

I think I think I think Augusta fits Tommy Fleetwood so well. And I think I I mean I could see him winning that easily, but he just fucking tanks it all the time.

Matt

Patrick Reed, he's been on a freaking heater too, you know. Yeah, and he's playing there, and he's playing, you know, he's definitely playing. So it it'll be uh it'll be interesting to see. He's been we haven't heard much from him lately, so so excited. Two we're two weeks away. Two weeks away. I've been two weeks away.

Joe

I got the taste of Augusta order in it's it is it has been ordered, so UPS hey UPS UPS delivered my uh dice man masters hats today. All right, so made that here. All right. I hope Emacs says Ludwig, which that was Masters was his coming out party.

Matt

Yeah, I mean he's that's that's another player.

Joe

I don't know, that's gonna be way more pressure.

Matt

Yeah, just a little bit more pressure. But you know, hey Speeth is playing good right now, and he knows that place really well. Justin Rose is playing good. He just won a TGL title um with Fleawood, who's you know, playing it's it's lining up to be a good event. It's lining up to be a good event. I mean, masters is always a good event.

Joe

How could you say it?

Matt

Of course, but you know, you want you want a good masters, you don't want just gonna be a good it's always a good masters.

Joe

What are you talking about? It doesn't start till the back night on. Sunday. Come on now.

Matt

Got my new Hitting Greens hat the other day. Thanks, brother. There you go. Joe, a little shout out. That's that's not one that's been sold on WebPro. The four of us are repping some some new DGP hats. Joe hasn't been around to get one. But uh I need to make a Joe style hat. Yeah.

Jeremy

Yeah. Need a corduroy or yeah.

Joe

If you guys did not know, Jeremy is DGP. He's the damn good putter. He has a website where you can buy the hats, show off your putting skills and style, and be a damn good putter yourself.

SPEAKER_00

I'm a pretty good putter. I'm a damn good putter. I'm a pretty good putter. I'm a damn good putter. I'm a pretty good butter.

Jeremy

You have to be a damn good putter to wear the hat. It's a mind. It's a mindset. Confidence. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Matt

Total mindset. And and there's a new product launching soon. Uh right there. Yeah. Damn good putter spray. Damn good putter cooking spray. Yeah. Spray it up sprayed all over your body. Your putting it.

Joe

Yeah.

Matt

When you spray it all over your body. Putting skill enhancer.

SPEAKER_01

Just kidding. That is fake.

Matt

That's not real. We don't want to get reported. That was fake. That was that was artificial light. Right?

Joe

It just make it like a lot of hot sauce, so you can get a peanut bean and cheese burrito. Make you a damn good putter, and you spray your aerosol hot sauce on your bean and cheese, take a bite, and then you putt. Guaranteed that shit's going on.

Matt

I'm gonna have to go into the archives. I'll have I'll have uh uh gg go through all the episodes and find out exactly when I'm a pretty good putter, I'm a damn good putter was said for the first time.

Joe

And uh that was bring that up. I know it was a while fifty or somewhere around that.

Matt

Yeah.

Joe

Here you go, Joe. Run it, run a dice man at. I got a bunch. I got 25 made. We're gonna run, we're gonna do it in the master's show. Uh so go bookmark that. I don't know when I'm doing that, and also my one-year show is coming out too, which is absolutely insane. Yeah, that's crazy.

Matt

I I cursed Jordy. You did, Jordan. I heard about it from the clubhouse. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_04

I was he texted me, he's like, he's up, he's up five with four to play or something.

SPEAKER_01

He was he was playing so well and had a big lead, and I was so happy. And I sent Joe a message, and I'm like, look at Jordy, and then bogey, bogey, bogey, bogey. I was like, Oh my god.

Laughlin Tournament Pace Of Play

Matt

Go to Jordy, the Wainwright curse, yeah, right there. Flavor flavor wizards right there. That's the commissioner's curse. Commissioner's curse. Normally it happens when you play with me, but now I now apparently I can launch that from the clubhouse. Yeah, you can put the hex on you anywhere. Okay, so I want to talk a few minutes about the Vegas Golf Network tournament in Laughlin. Because uh one thing that I'm doing this year, after every event, I'm sending out a survey to all the players. And thank you for all of you who uh did that. Uh, I'm gonna pull a name randomly uh later on in the week, and someone's gonna win a free entry in a mountain falls for turning in the survey. Uh so can I do the survey? Can I do the survey even though you didn't play, so you're not on the email chain. Sorry. Um, so uh the surveys have been coming back, and they they've all been, you know, typically what I like to hear. Everybody had a good time, everybody enjoyed the course. Um, but you know, Laughlin Ranch is a great golf course, it's a challenging golf course. We made it so uh the desert played as a lateral for every flight, just just to help with pace of play. Um, but Laughlin threw two other tournaments out there also. So they had a full course buyout with three groups, and everybody is shitting on the pace of play. And I totally understand, I get it. It was not a great pace of play. Um, and that was kind of out of our hands. And so I do want to apologize to everybody that was out there for five plus hours playing in the heat. It's not what we want, it's not what we try to encourage. We have pace of play rules, but unfortunately, when we can't buy a course out because we don't have 144 players, we are at the mercy of the facility. So, you know, it it sucks. I'm sorry, but one way to help with this talk to your friends, get them to join, get more people out of the course, and let's get more players so we have more control over that. You know, if we come out there with 120, yeah, they can't throw another large group out there, they just can't. So uh it would really benefit us, but unfortunately, I can't do anything about that.

Jeremy

Also, that never happens either. Like that that really hasn't happened before.

Matt

Something like that with three groups. It was it was wild. But what also really upset me is I look over at the range, and there's like five space setup, and they have this massive range, and there was five ranch, yeah. And it's like you get you have a full course, but you know, you have two large groups and a small group all going out at the same time, and they had three staff outside staffers to try to get 140 people out on the course, and it's very confusing going from one to two because if you're not sure, you're headed down number eight, and or you're turning around and going to play nine if you're not sure where you're going. And we started, it was a weird starting for us, something we haven't done, a forward shotgun like that. Um, so it was it was a little confusing.

Joe

Uh yeah, fix a lot of it is if if we went back to the old ways of being self-aware, and I'm talking about the course itself, the player themselves, the groups themselves, just be self-aware and understand what's happening. Look at the bigger picture and look out for your fellow man and the players behind you. And the course look out for the people that have played paid to play that course that day. Yeah, be self-aware. Okay, if you're in a group and someone's taking a long time, you got to speak up as well. Yeah, and make sure they're safe, self-aware. So it's it's on if if somebody's playing slow in your group and you don't speak up, that's also on you as well.

Matt

Yeah at the end of the day. Yeah, I drove around and tried to say hi to everybody. Uh, I started from the from the the club's flight and worked my way up to the diamonds. Um, was stopping, chatting with people, and and you know, I think everybody for the most part is is doing their best to play well. I mean, that it's a tough course. It's it's an experience, yeah.

Joe

If you've never played it, also it can be a little discombobulating as well. Like the routing kind of gets funky at some points, too.

Matt

So yeah, it's it's uh especially on the front when you're you know under the bridge around the corner, you're just not sure through the woods going on. Yeah, yeah. Under the bridge. But hey, it's it's a fun course, it was in good shape. Bunkers were a little rough and come some sections, but uh you know that it was getting hot. The greens, the greens couldn't be any faster than what they were otherwise with the undulation on that course. I mean, we had I put that that highlight on the VGN Instagram page, and I was like, oh shit, that is just nothing but people missing putts. Yeah, I saw that hard to make putts. Yeah, it was it was tough. Yeah, they do need a director of signage because those signs, it's nice that they have the little sticks that tell you what T-box it is, but a couple people have said they blend in so much with the surroundings, it's hard to see sometimes. Yeah, Vic. We were upset you missed it as well. Oh, look at his profile photo.

Joe

Yeah, I love it. Of course, Vic. Of course, the champion of VGN, Vic Sanchez himself.

Matt

Hey, and congratulations here. We'll we'll do the rundown. Uh, so this guy won. Of course. Look at that. Number 14. Congratulations, congratulations. Uh, we had uh Ryan Kress, who won last year at Laughlin. So he's a back-to-back Laughlin. He owns Laughlin Ranch. Well, Dan actually won last year. Uh, and then Jerry Flannery. That was you for a second.

Joe

I thought that was kind of been you for one second. Uh again, do it again, go back.

Matt

Matt. And Andrew Wilson, who's a new VGN member this year, got his first win in the club's flight. So, congratulations to all those gentlemen.

SPEAKER_04

Um, the standing glad you played. I literally like for that was you.

Matt

I was like this close to playing because I had one person at four in the morning send me a text message saying that they weren't gonna make it.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm like, Oh, do I play? Do I play?

Matt

Ice it, ice it. Yeah, landman's coming, landman's coming. Well, what I said, I I didn't want to go out there and and win and just embarrass everybody that a guy on a new knee beat everybody. So I didn't, I you know, I was holding it.

Joe

Tiger Woods done it too many times on that new knees, one too many times. So sure you're to follow real quick.

Matt

Ah, thank you very much. Thank you very much. That is a cool trophy. That all the trophies this year are gonna look like that, um, with just different uh you know, verbiage on it. Got the the relic body arts logo in the mid in the middle. Shout out relic body arts, the trophy sponsor this year. Stevie Jackson. Shout out Relic Body Arts.

Joe

If you're in Vegas, if you're in Vegas, go check out Relic Body Arts off of uh Robendale and Rainbow. Killer, killer tattoo artists over there, especially Stevie Jacks. He's a banner brother there to Jackson.

Matt

Hi, Miss Jackson.

Joe

All right, so he might be too busy racing RC cars, but if you let him know you're coming, he'll be there.

Matt

He he sent me a picture of him, and I'm like, man, I used to race team associated RC tan cars back in the day, and I'm like, dude, do not do not let me scratch that itch because that is that is a uh that is something that I go all in on.

Joe

I've always wanted to do that, it's always something to me.

Golf Bucket List Diary Book

Matt

But I used to race at the old western BW off of Blue Diamond at the you know, the water tank that's out there at Arden. They used to have a track out there. Uh, every Tuesdays and Thursdays for years I was out there. So much fun. All right. So the golf bucket list. I I uh previewed this a little earlier. This is it's a very nice, leather-bound, soft leather-bound book, and it says the ultimate guide to the greatest courses and scenic greens. And a little back flap says, uh, record your visits to 35 epic golf courses around the world with a golf bucket list. Discover the most scenic greens, both private and public, along with most famous moments and players who have competed and won there. As you play through, jot down your top game moments, memories, achievements, and reflections with fun, inspiring prompts like best round memory, snapshot, uh lessons learned, first visit, and mementos. So it's it's kind of like a diary. And it's got in the inside, it's got a list of all the courses that are in here. It I know it's hard to see on YouTube, but uh it's like uh so some of America's members-only clubs, Desert Mountain, Cypress Point, Seminole, Augusta, Valhalla, places like that. Then they got America's public courses, Pebble Beach, Pelican Hill, Sabbath, uh, Cabot Citrus, Streamsong, Princeville, and some European courses as well. And uh what it is, let me turn to page 80 because that's one that we know. All of us have played Shadow Creek. So it it gives you a little, I can see here, it gives you a little breakdown of the golf course. They should have hit up Jeff Marsh to try and get some actual pictures of Shadow Creek in there. Uh, and then on the second page is where you can fill out all the information. So it's got you know, uh your your the day you played, what you thought of the course, blah blah blah. So it's kind of like a little diary memento book. Uh, you know, I've got there's of the ones that are on here, you know, I have played style, but more curated, if you will. Yeah, it's it's grassy hardbound. Hardbound, grassy, hardbound, grassy. Uh, so I've played Stream Song, Princeville, Mackay, Shadow Creek, Peth Page is on here, Joe.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I've played there.

Matt

Yeah, Pac Dunes is on here. So there's some that I'll be able to fill out. I mean, I doubt I'll ever get to Augusta, Cypress, or Seminole, but I never know. Only I'm only you know, I'm only 53. So, or 52, be 53 next month.

Joe

Uh, but yeah, maybe the maybe the masters might need some live coverage from a podcast, you know. Who knows? You know, tech chasing daylight podcast and all the masters content you see. There you go.

True Linkswear Anti-Gravity Shoe Talk

Matt

Uh, so the author of this publication, his name is Jeff Lesson. It says uh Jeff Lesson is a radio and television sportscaster and newspaper columnist since 1997. He has been the host of award-winning show Lesson on Golf, featuring the best places to play, pro pointers, equipment, travel, and fitness, the highlight of his career with broadcasting the 2004 Writer Cup on Westwood 1 radio, and of course, writing the golf bucket list. During all that, he was also a criminal trial attorney for many years and now calls himself a recovering lawyer. He and his wife Jennifer live part-time in Michigan, Ohio, and Florida, and just about any other state that will have them. So uh I'll in the show notes, I'll have a link to where you can get this. Uh, it says that uh on the back labels 20 bucks. So if you're somebody that's uh is interested in something like that, uh it's very well done. It's very well done. The the only thing I think that if these were pictures of the actual golf course would be Synth, but yeah, you know, they're they're pretty uh they're they're artistic. It's it's uh you know, they got Royal Port Rush with the old so anyways. That is that. All right, check that off my things of list that I have to talk about. All right. You guys want to get into some shoe talk?

Joe

Yeah, I'm I'm I'm actually really curious because I mean everybody that knows me, I'm a big true Link Swear believer. And uh I did not see the pre-sale. I saw my tech, I wasn't checking my phone very much over the past weekend, but I did see the pre-sale text come in last week after I or the email. I I don't even check emails very much anymore, but uh I saw it today. And uh these are ones that I'm really excited to actually try. So I'm curious on your take from them because all I wear is true like swear. Shout out true.

Matt

Yeah, so this is this is last year's uh one of last year's shoes. And let me go full screen here so you can see. Maybe not, maybe I won't go full screen. There we go. Uh so this is last year's shoe, uh, and it is the spiked version. You see, it's filthy. I haven't, you know, I wear these. This shoe is absolutely fantastic, it is crazy comfortable, and it is very structured. Uh, the spikes are fantastic, the grip is insane, crazy comfortable. But this material is weatherproof, it is not breathable. And the first time I wore these was when we played were cooking, I remember weakwa, and it was hot, and my feet were boiling, absolutely boiling. So I was I was concerned. I mean, best winter shoe and wet weather shoe I've ever worn, hands down. It's amazing. Oh, hands down, hands down, it's it's amazing. So this is the new anti-gravity shoe, right? And it's it's uh it's non-spiked, it's got it's got a really good tread on the bottom, it's very comfortable, but it has that same material on the top. So this being white, I'm hoping it's not as hot. I was wearing it today when I was practicing and putting. And it's not breathable still. There's no yeah, there is no airflow whatsoever in this.

Jeremy

Built for bandan.

Matt

Built for bandon, PNW golfers. Yeah, but they got they got some fun little they got some fun little little little Easter eggs, little Godspeed right there. Got the shout out to the old true logo right there on the bottom.

Joe

I still want the fucking the PNW high tops with the bottom inside.

Matt

I still want those, but we got wonder my am we gonna wear those in Vegas. I mean, true on the side, true there. I posted all these on my IG, true on the inside. Uh, it it's very I mean, this thing is super light, super light. If you saw the video where I made I was tossing them on the ground and it bounced like all over the place. Super, super light. This little toe box area. I was a little concerned because when it crinkles up, that stuff kind of pushes into the top of your foot. But I think it's just break in period. Um, I'm hoping it softens up a little bit. Uh, but I really enjoyed wearing them today. They they were a lot of fun. Uh it's a it's a good shoe, it's very comfortable, and I think everybody will enjoy the walk in it. I would recommend going a half size down. These are they're crazy because these are absolutely perfect fit. The size I got, absolutely perfect. So I ordered the same size as these, they're a little big. Not crazy, but a little bit.

Joe

Vic's asking how the toe box is. Toe box is wide, very wide, very wide toe box.

TravisMathew Shoes And Comfort Test

Matt

Yeah, it's it's a wide toe box. All true shoes are very wide. It's uh you know, that yeah. Uh so that was the second shoe that showed up this week. The first shoe that showed up kind of blew me away. And and I'm a shoe whore. I my wife gets mad at me, and we haven't we have a new rule in the household. New para shoe comes in, old parachute gotta go out.

Joe

Might catch them down by sportsman's looking for shoes occasionally, guys.

Matt

Uh so our our good friend Beds, uh, who is the uh Las Vegas Travis Matthew rep, uh, when I found out that the shoe that I wear every single day, which is a Travis Matthew uh kind of like a running shoe, comfort shoe, uh, put some spikes on it and did a little bit of redesign.

Jeremy

Yep, they look really good.

Matt

Yeah, they look good. This is the new Travis Matthew shoe. It is absolutely air maxi. Well, air max. The the tread on the bottom is perfect. The spikes are in you know where they're supposed to be. It is very weather proofy, but my god, you want to talk about comfortable? I was so so impressed, and I brought them to Los Prados because we were gonna try and get out and play nine holes afterwards, and they just got so busy with the weather being so nice, we couldn't get out, so they were just in the backpack. So I didn't get a chance to wear them, but wow, super, super impressed. This comes in four different colorways. There's a black version, uh, and a couple other gray versions. They they hit it out of the park with this. Uh, if you know Travis Matthew going back a little ways, Quator was their other brand, and Quator did the shoes. Uh Quator is no more. They are all everything is now Travis Matthew. These are waterproof. I should realize that on there. This little heel pad back here is amazing, absolutely perfect. Perfect, locks you in, it's solid. Uh, this is probably the best golf shoe I've ever seen come out of them. They've been doing shoes for a couple years now, uh, with Quator, and then as they transition to Travis Matthew, um I mean wow, blown away. Shout out beds. Blown away. I cannot wait to play golf in these. And uh yeah, and they're competitively priced with the other shoes, you know, spike shoes in the market. So you'll save yourself a few ducats on that front. So Joe, I think you I think you'll really like these, Joe. I'm just I these gotta breathe.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Matt

If these if these could breathe, not a Vegas summer guy. God damn, they would be amazing. Yeah, they would be absolutely amazing. But we'll see. You know, I'm gonna I'm gonna play some golf. I'm gonna wear them uh this weekend to some fitting events that we have and uh hopefully get some golf in and and see how they do.

Joe

So I I need another all all black true pair of shoes. I haven't seen like an all black pair in a long time since I I think the dead golfers, the the the all black ones, the the the knit twos or knit threes, I can't remember all black, black soul, black, because that's what I wear to work, and I've been wearing the um the link, uh the the knit threes to work, but it's got the white soul, and I kind of feel like if it's like one of those up elevated days where I gotta look nicer and I got a white soul, it's like hey, people might be looking at me, but hey, I'm still rocking the truths, and you know, if if if the guy that I'm talking to is a golfer, he might look down and be like, Hey, you golf, and I'd be like, Yeah, I golf, you golf? Hey, boom, boom, boom, boom. Let's get your business, you know what I mean. Um, but no, I need another all black, I need another all black pair. True, that's what we need to be able to wear trues to work. I'm an advocate for being comfortable at work.

Matt

So in those golfer at work, gravity, they have they have that colorway.

Joe

Yeah, I like those ones. They have this colorway, green one too, right? Yeah, no, that one they kind of look like costons to me, like the cost and if you were a skateboarder. That one a little costiny, which I like.

Matt

So it's a it's a new shoe from them, and uh yeah, I I think it's gonna do well. I think it's gonna do well. Yeah, I gotta grab a pair. Let's see, and I want to talk about the other trues that I got recently that I really like are the P code for shrew. These a scent. So I have I have these also, and I wore these to New York because they're they're waterproof, and these are absolutely incredible. Amazing, amazing, comfortable golf shoe. Um, and yeah, Jeff Marsh got a pair, and I told him I go, dude, you're gonna love those. Absolutely love those. I was hoping he was coming out to shoot the LPGA event at Shadow Creek next week, but he's not.

Joe

Yeah, he's gotta come on the pod. It's been long overdue.

Matt

It's been long enough.

Joe

It's been long enough. I mean, he used to caddy at uh so high, so he gotta come out, come on the pod.

Matt

There's only 13 entries in the in the giveaway. So, you know, if if you want fancy, fancy new just release grip.

Joe

Yeah, if you guys if you guys want him for the giveaway, we do a giveaway every episode. All you gotta do is comment and be president president when we win. Um present, of course. That was a joke. Thanks for the laughs. Um, but you gotta be here at the end, and uh, all you gotta do is comment. There you go. There you go. Feels in there. So all you gotta do is comment. Um, and we'll when we pull at the end, you gotta be present, and you'll win that for absolutely nothing.

Matt

Dan said, uh, Mr. Tefas, Matt, a quick trip to TJ from system, some stem cell therapy, and you'll be ready to play this weekend. I'm ready to play now. I got the okay. I no, I have a I have a countdown on my phone, right? And I was counting down to my countdown is golf is back. And it's counting down, it says six weeks and five days. That's how far that's how far ahead of schedule I am. Yeah. I'm geeked. I'm in the work. I am geeked.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I mean, in six weeks, that's gonna be fun. Six weeks in six weeks is gonna be really nice.

Matt

Yeah, that's tomorrow. Tomorrow tomorrow is six weeks.

Joe

Oh no, your countdown. Yeah, your countdown.

Matt

Yeah, no, I'm I'm ready to go. I'm ready. Let's do this. I got some I got some new Callaway clubs coming. Bit the bullet, got some, got some new uh the new quantum uh five wood and seven wood. I'm I'm coming for everybody.

Jeremy

That five wood Dan has is a monster, man. That thing is very nice.

Matt

Makes me what is it? Dan got the the the elite titanium five wood. Oh, I saw one of those today. It was like 150. Whoa, seriously?

Joe

Yeah, hey, it might have been miss, it might have been my mispriced. I stopped by Golf Galaxy and uh I picked up uh a nice little Nike Vapor 3 wood, but also there was a nice M53 wood for like 70. Almost grabbed that. Um but I did see a very cheap uh elite titanium five wood. Dude, grab it, grab it.

Matt

I'm gonna have to go stout back bad air tomorrow. Hey Jeremy Vic wants to know if you got any XL DGP hats.

Jeremy

I don't have XL specifically, but I have a big head, Dan has a big head, Trey's got a big head, and they seem to fit.

Matt

But I could probably get you an XL hat if you need one. Hey, yeah, and I'm still in the lead on Grassy. Yeah, when is his when's the drawing? Uh five days, I think.

Joe

No, you better get going. Keep that lead.

Matt

Five days? Let's see. I'll bring it up. See here. Shout out Grassy Golf. You're not on Grassy. Come on, what are you doing? What are you doing? It's such a good app. I'm having so much fun on it. Get off your grassy, get some grassy seven days, nine hours, 54 minutes. Okay, is when it goes.

Joe

Jalen's got a question. That's punch it chewy. That's the homie punch it chewy. Also, Jalen, I found it hot for you today. We're gonna run it at some point. But uh Jalen, any of you use the Qi40 driver? Heard it's lighter.

Jeremy

I haven't hit it yet, but I'd I would like to try it. I'm contractually obligated to never won't be playing it.

Joe

Matt won't be playing it. Uh I have I have not I have not hit it yet. I've hit the new uh Callaway, which I liked. Uh for me personally, Tailormade. I just I have a hard time looking down at that those drivers nowadays. I don't know why. I just can't. I don't like looking down at Taylor Made drivers.

Jeremy

It looks like it's like the keel is too low or something. I don't know. It's never looked right to me.

Joe

But I think the newer one is a little bit like the glue or something. Like I can see the glue and it feels too light and it feels cheap to me or something. I don't know what it is. The shape, I mean, the sim, the original sim and the sim two, I liked. Um I don't know, it just looks like it's like pieced together to me. But it's it's just personal eyes and differences.

Matt

Uh so real quick, uh Brian. Uh I take it you are who golf. Is that correct? If just give me a uh in the chat if uh that's you. No, it's it's it's awesome. Dude, finding so many new people because not everybody it's like Instagram is getting so like I said, it's just it's so much that's not golf. Um cool, that's you. All right, good. I did like that new polo you're teasing. Nice, simple. I liked it. It was good. Uh let's see. Sorry. All right, back to back to the back to the chat. Uh I am a callaway guy, but I really like the QI35 Max. Well, then you're not a Callaway guy if you like that.

Joe

Have you uh punch it? Have you punch it? Have you tried the quantum yet? Because I personally did not like the Elite, but the Quantum is sick. I still play AI smoke until I can get a quantum, but the quantum is way better than the QI35. I couldn't look, I did not like the look of the Qi 30. I mean, it's so personal.

Jeremy

That's I mean, we always say it, but even the tour guys didn't like the Qi 35. True.

Matt

I think they all skipped the they skipped it from the 10th. I think the bigger question is is Jeremy gonna buy the new tiles driver and all about the hard work that Julian and I have done getting him dialed in with his elite. He's gonna buy it, but him he might play it a couple times and be like, eh.

Jeremy

You know what? I will tell you right now, whichever one performs what will be in my starting order.

Matt

Is it is it the pre-order already gone through? I haven't pre-ordered it yet. Honestly, it looks it looks awesome.

Jeremy

Yeah, it does look good, but yeah, whatever performs better in a bidding setting, I will buy all right. I do like it. Challenge accepted. So but the quantum what the numbers on the quantum were amazing, so it might be hard to beat.

Matt

Dude, what you were doing at Legacy with really really bad range balls, yeah, was impressive. Impressive. And Sunday we're gonna get it dialed in even more, please.

Joe

Yeah, uh Nori, you love your elite, that's awesome. Love to hear it. It's just that's the thing. Everything, like everybody, everything, there's so many things that work for certain people, and things don't work for people, and it's a personal game, and that's why you gotta find out what works for you.

Mountain Falls Event And Tourney Plans

Matt

And Nori, I owe you another apology because we were supposed to chat afterwards, and damn it, it just his knee started hurting. It's so chaotic, it's so chaotic on the tournaments over. It is, it is, but yeah. You know, it the I was sitting in the because I after I got done with driving around and seeing everybody, Dan and Jeremy, uh, their group uh was on uh eight, what is eighteen? And so I said, Hey, I'm I'm just gonna go inside, guys, have fun. So I went inside, cooled off, and and got a table, and it was a ghost town in there. But then about a half hour before everybody finished, it just was packed. I mean, like crazy packed. And you know, uh, some people in the survey have said it would be nice if we could reserve some tables. If at a with a group setting, if we reserve tables, I have to pay. I have to pay. And so F and B minimum. Yeah, F and B minimum for a group is it's it's no fun. So, and most of the time, I mean, a lot of people bounce afterwards. Uh, so and I know it was a long drive back. I wasn't expecting as many people to stick around. That did, so especially with the drive, yeah. Yeah, so yeah, it is a lot going on. Oh man. So all right, that's all I got. What's the next one? What's the next one? It's Mountain Falls. Mountain Falls. Spots are filling up fast. There's there's it's dwindling down, it's dwindling down. Uh, I mean, hopefully we can get the 21st of April. 21st of April? 18th. Yeah, it's a Saturday. Saturday the 18th. So uh yeah, Jeremy's uh gonna be my uh assistant fitter on Sunday. He's gonna travel with me out over the over the hump to Perump. Uh we are at uh Spanish and South Shore Friday and Saturday, so no access to the public. But uh if anybody you know wants to make a trip out to Perump and come get fit, we'll be out there.

Jeremy

Yep, I'll just be practicing while Matt fits people.

Matt

I need it, and he's he's there to help put up the tent because I can't do that.

Jeremy

Yeah, that too.

Joe

And then we're gonna play after maybe this is this guy was coached by Butch Harmon. This is what you should be doing.

Matt

Yeah, what what happened, Jeremy? Why didn't you beat Dan by like six? Yeah, butch.

Jeremy

I don't even know, man. I just two bad two bad shots led to several strokes.

Matt

And Dan, you're awful quiet tonight, too.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. He's got Jodicey tapes getting ready to play. He's not in a Jodice time. Uh oh. Is that what it is? Yeah.

Dan

Yep. Jodice's playing.

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit.

Matt

Somebody's thoughts are elsewhere.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that's funny. That was perfect.

Dan

No, it's uh yeah, Jay had Jay just had a couple, just two bad holes, really. That's it. Two bad swings. Wasn't really two bad holes, it was just two bad swings.

Matt

What what had what holes did it happen on?

Jeremy

Um the downhill with the mine. Three four. Yeah, I tripled that hole. I hit one out, couldn't find it. I we saw where it went, just couldn't find the ball, so took a ladder on that. It clearly went in the desert somewhere, and then I hit another one and pulled it and didn't find it. It went towards the mine, couldn't find the ball, so I had to drop another one. That hurts is bad, but I mean I played played really well the whole time. I mean, I three under on the back and like eight over on the front.

Matt

But man, the shot both you and Dan hit on 17. I mean, did you guys both hit four iron? Yeah, yeah, four iron, yeah. That was what two what was it playing? 235? Yeah, ish something like that. Beautiful, beautiful swings.

Jeremy

That was that was fun to watch. Yeah, it was a fun day. That that course, like that that's one of those courses you need to play a few times to figure out the greens because the greens are really tricky. Do they are and just hitting where to hit it and stuff like that? But yeah, it was a good time, as always. I don't mind getting like Dan's the only person I don't mind getting beat because he's still cheering me on the whole time. That's true. I cheer everybody on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

Matt

Uh so I'm I'm actively pushing hard to find more players for the diamonds flight. Um, so I I reached out to a couple of the guys here in town that I know that would be some great competition. Uh, hopefully, we're gonna have some some better players. Um, not better than you, but better players in general uh in some of the events to help that gross flight be what I feel could be some of the best competition in Vegas. Just gotta get those guys, gotta get them out of there, man. They gotta find us, they gotta find us. A lot of people in that caliber golf really enjoy playing two-day events, and that's just not our jam, so I get it. But hopefully we'll see. Um Rob said, and don't miss short-sighted all day. Is that what happened, Rob?

Joe

There's some Donnie Ross green.

Matt

You can't, yeah.

Dan

That's a course we cannot miss short-sighted.

Matt

No, it either falls off or it's trouble.

Jeremy

Yeah, you're yeah, there's some impossible chip shots around that place.

Giveaway Winner And Putter Grip Feel

Matt

Yeah, so I think next year I may try if the VGN is back next year. I may try to do it later in the year. So um just just a different time of the year, and and with a longer window out booking, maybe I can get us a better time slot and and uh have a normal event out there. So we'll see. But everybody loves the quote. I I think it's a it's it's a gem, it's a it's a hidden gem. Yeah I'm glad that the players that came that experienced it for the first time were able to. So yeah, yeah, for sure. All right, let's see where we are in the giveaway. We got 15 entries in the giveaway.

Joe

And dropping off.

Matt

Yeah, sad.

Joe

Oh well, you know, we get we get rambling, we get rambling. We do. All right, let me pull this. That means probably Rob Chapman's probably gonna win a grip. Uh, let's see, window. Shout out Rob Chapman, always supporting. That's the homie. Let's go. Also, shout out Garson, guys. Go to Garsengolf.com, right? It's Garsengolf.com. I think I asked this every week. Garsengolf.com, right? Garsengolf.com.

Matt

Yes.

Joe

Go to Garsengolf.com, enter code, whatever you want to purchase, enter code at Daylight15 at checkout. Save yourself 15 at checkout. The best putter grips on the market. I've been seeing them pop up all over the place. Jordy. Jordy. The curse is over. Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_01

Curse is over.

Jeremy

No more four bogies in a row.

Matt

Yeah. Are you still here, Jordy? Oh, wait, you know what? He's he's a CDP premium. Oh, yeah, he is a putter. Does that matter?

Joe

He does not have to be here.

Matt

Congratulations, Jordy, on winning that grip. Um he is here. He is here too.

Jeremy

You've had that grip on a putter, haven't you, Matt? Not this one because it's pistol.

Matt

I have the quad court non-tapered on the strokes gain, and I can love it.

Jeremy

So how does the how does that long of a grip change the putter like swing weight and all that stuff?

Matt

It what's unique about the Garsons is they he's got a bite. Uh they are light. So a lot of the other manufacturers that make uh long putter grips, they're very heavy. So it it really acts as a counterbalance. This doesn't do as much counterbalancing because of the weight. Um, so it's just it gives you a little bit more setup options on it on how you want to hold it. What something that I have found, and I chatted with Preston about this a little bit, and I talked a little bit about it with Dave from Goodwood. Um, they don't think so much as me, as what I think. Uh I think you you can grip it in three different places, really low in the middle or high, and have basically three different putters in your hand for how much it affects the swing weight. Um, if if you have this long grip and you hold it at the end, it's a very heavy putter. But if you grip way down, it's a very light putter. So I think it's a great way for you to, you know, if you've got one of those tricky downhill quickies that you you know you don't want to have a lot of force behind it, you can grip down really far and just make a nice soft touch. Um, so we'll see. Good show you're not rambling. It's golf talk, gotta love it. Congrats, Dan, on your win.

SPEAKER_04

Um what a guy, bro.

Matt

Out there doozing it.

SPEAKER_04

Thanks, Dammy. Appreciate it. Out there doozing it. He's having 17-inch non-table pistol, and it is heavy.

Matt

Let's go. Well, I mean, it is it is a 17-inch grip, so it's gonna be heavier than you know, a standard 13-inch grip, so or 12-inch grip, but uh, it's not as heavy as some of the other ones, is what I was trying to say. Sorry if that didn't come out right. Uh, probe version. I this has the the texture on it, like this. So I don't know if that the probe version typically is the smooth. Um they call this the GR500 quad TR Pistol 17-inch NT.

Joe

Yeah, but if you guys are interested in trying out Garson, use code Daylight15 and check out Garsengolf.com. It helps the show as well, guys. It helps Chasen Daylight Podcast. It gets a Garson grip in your hands and on your putter to try it out. And if you don't like it, then you don't like it. But we have full faith you might enjoy it. So give it a shot.

Matt

All right. So when I edit this uh tomorrow and post this, it'll the links will be on the YouTube video as well. So if you want to come back here and see this, I'll have the the link for the Travis Matthews shoe. I'll have the link for the anti-gravity anti-gravity from True Linkswear. I will have a link to this because we always have links to Garson. I will have a link to golf bucket list, and who knows, maybe we'll get the damn good putter hats. Oh, yeah, and some damn good putter, and you know, some damn good putter spray, spray, body skill enhancer. Vic, you need me.

Jeremy

Damn good butter. Joe, when did you say your master's hats are coming out?

Joe

Uh on the master show. I don't know. Currently, it's Thursday. I'll probably move it, but um, I'm waiting for one more master's item, hit ingredients master's item. So I don't know. I would love to get everything to people by the masters. So I'm hoping next week at some point. I don't know. And also uh a friend of mine who I met through whatnot is gonna he told me, I don't know for sure if he's gonna do it, but he told me he's gonna run me, run a master's Scotty Cameron on my show. So I would go and I would go and bookmark it.

Matt

Bookmark that shit.

Joe

Yeah, go follow Papa Bear Club Works. Awesome dude. I kind of want to show I should I sent you guys pictures of it, but yeah. Yeah.

Matt

Um yeah, just bookmark everything, and you know, you know what it is, you know how to do it. Got that spider with the Garson grip, it's sweet. There we go. Hey, and if you guys are watching social media or you're watching whatnot, you're starting to see these guys pop up everywhere. I mean, yeah, dude. Oh, every fucking way. Carson is everywhere right now, and I don't want to toot our own horn, but I'm gonna fucking toot it, bro.

Joe

Tootie, tootie fruity, all right.

Matt

I love seeing them all over the place because before it was like every now and then you would see, you know, Bernie would post something from the trailer where he's throwing a grip on at a tournament event. Now it's everywhere, and I love it. I love that people are playing it, I love that people are enjoying it, and I love that people are putting better with them.

Joe

So I saw Papa Bear the other day. He's like, Garson, and then Papa Bear, the other Papa Bear, Garson. I I messaged. Andrew last night, I was like, dude, Garson is popping up all over the place.

Matt

Yep. The power of the CDP. Can you get a Garson tattoo, Matt? Uh no. Rob said I just got a whatnot this week for the first time in six months and promptly spent a hundred bucks on shit I don't need.

Jeremy

The welcome back to whatnot.

Whatnot Hype And Buying Smarter

Dan

Welcome back to whatnot. That's why I deleted it. Yeah. I'm much better nowadays.

Matt

I think I have even deleted all your golf balls inventory.

Dan

Yes, everything I have is is sold, or Joe Joe still has. I don't even know. I haven't given Joe anything in a long time, but no. He got uh my garage is full of shit.

Jeremy

You had a palette delivered of like next gen balls.

Dan

I had one time I had like I had like 15 boxes on the front porch, and like it was like at least every box had like three dozen balls in it. Oh, that's hilarious. I was just killing him.

Matt

All right, hey, so Jackson was telling us that uh you were telling him about some next gens that were 30 bucks and asked if he wanted to get it. And he said sure, and then you said no, no, no, that's for a sleeve.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, what the hell was that?

Joe

I never I never made him pay for it.

SPEAKER_01

That's all no no no no no no.

Matt

I he just said that you were asking, and he thought it was a box and it was a sleeve for$30.

Joe

No, I just told him I was like because he said he wanted next gens, he wanted next he likes the next gen balls, he wants them. So I was like, hey, there's sleeves. I don't even know if I said sleeves or next gens or whatever. I said next gens are running. Do you want any? And he said, and I was just buying them for him because he said he wanted them, so I'm trying to look out. And uh he said, Oh, I thought it was for a box. I was like, No, it's sleeve, but it wasn't it wasn't 30 bucks, it was like 15 bucks a sleeve or something like that. So uh so I bought a bunch and he's like, Oh, I thought it was a box. I was like, No worries, and I told him he owes me 957 dollars, but no, no, no. He just said he wanted them. If we if we saw them, then get them. So I was getting them for him, but it's all good. I have too many balls, but I still haven't even tried the next gens.

Matt

No, I haven't either.

Joe

I have no desire to I don't even have no desire to either.

Dan

But I tried one sleeve at Paiute, and I was absolutely ripping the ball that day, and I could not get any of my carries, like lines I would take off the T, come up 10-15 yards short, like carries over bunkers, like on certain, like on uh what is it, hole six, I think, on snow. It's the let me see one, two where you hit it to the left over the bunker. Yes, right in the bunker. I might have been short of it actually. And then there's another par five where you hit it the two trailers, which are usually just carry over the hill on the right, fucking hammered it, and I was 10 yards short of the hill. Like, yeah, fuck these balls.

Joe

Yeah, I I I crash. I mean, because if you're here still, you're a fan of the Chase Day Lab podcast, and I'll tell you what. I think a lot of a lot of people, you know, whatever it is, the conglomerate of these sellers or all these people, wherever they're getting this stuff from, you know, there's a there's a lot available for a cheap price, they buy it, then they hype it up to you, and it's not always good, right? And they're hyping it up to you so they can make their money, and you you're not getting quality product or something that fits you as well, because you're a newer golfer, or you don't know the game, or you don't know what a loft on a seven iron should be, or you don't know your gapping on your wedges, or this is a vokey, this is this is a waggle hat, you should wear waggle hat, whatever it is, right? Like, there's so many instances, and it's like you need to find your yeah, you need to find out what works for you, and that that's why I like you know, on my shows, I always try and keep it real, you know. Like, I'll tell you what I like, I'll tell you, like, hey, this might work for you. It's not I'm not a fan of it personally, but if this is what it you like, like like I'll tell I spent a bunch of money at Scotty Cameron. You guys like Scotty Cameron, people on whatnot like Scotty Cameron, so I bought a bunch of Scotty Cameron. I'm not a fan of it, but I bought it. And if if you're a fan, and you know, as long as I get most of my money back, I'm cool. But you need to listen to Chase of Daylight podcast to redeem that deficit of money I've lost, you know what I mean? At least I think a lot of people push a lot of people push uh a frame of mind of brands on people, and I'm not a fan of that, or people like asking for reruns or like making you feel guilty to rerun or not tipping because you want a giveaway. There I said it. I mean, well that's just yeah, and those that know, no, no, no what I'm talking about, but um, and I think a lot of it's gonna go away, and uh yeah, if if you're not a real one, you're not gonna make it in the long run.

Dan

Uh these are golf hats, by the way, sir.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Get your shit right, Mr. Going down, down, going down, down, top shit, top right shit at least.

Matt

Yeah, fuck away from you, spray.

Joe

Yeah, golf can be a rabbit hole if you let it absolutely so so can everything, so can the world of Seinfeld, and so can the ways of barbecuing brisket, and so can wine, and so can bourbon. Like there's so many rabbit holes. And if you decide to go down the rabbit hole of golf, like that's a good one to go down, but learn about it.

Matt

And the rabbit hole of what is fast food and what is not fast food, if you listened to last week's show.

Joe

Yeah, exactly. Jalen, yeah. Reruns, if you want to rerun, is fine, but if you if you feel uncomfortable not rerunning, that's what upsets me. That's lingo. I don't care. I don't know about it. He knows, he knows, he knows. But I we don't need to talk about it anymore. All right.

Matt

I think that's a good way to end this week's show on a on a sad low lull. Thanks, Joe.

Joe

No, no, it will end it on this. What Rob Chapman said golf is a rabbit hole, and it's one of the best rabbit holes you can go down. You should go play golf. I promise you, it'll change your life. Golf is the greatest game ever created. We got the masters right around the corner. It is happy times. Most of the country that has not been able to play golf for months is about to be able to play golf. Spring is coming. There's a lot to look forward to. Golf is the best. Go play golf. Share it with your friends, share it with your family, and wait to be on a those greens.

Matt

Yeah, haven't played since January.

Joe

Yeah. Just oh, bringing it down again. Great job. Great job. I brought it all the way up here, and you just know I'm saying I'm excited.

Matt

I can't wait. I can get to go out again now. I can't wait.

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait. In the call pads. Let's go. Thank you.

Jeremy

I'll provide the knee updates live Sunday.

Matt

Oh, yeah, there we go. Yeah. It's I mean knee tracker. I've been I've been practicing every day. I've been having conversations with Mr. Flote every single day. We're working on things. We're getting we're getting it dialed. And uh, I cannot wait to be out there. Cannot wait to be out there. Yeah. It's uh it's nice because I've been working with him long enough now that I I kind of understand where my progression, my progression is with him. And so now we're able to like dial in a little bit deeper in certain sections because I I have a better understanding of what's going on, you know, and and I've had this sway off the ball and sway to the left uh for a long time now. But now that the legs have a lot more stability and a lot more um no pain causing the weirdness, I uh actually it feels good to swing a golf club. And man, it's so much fun. It's you don't know how much you love something until you can't do it, you know. Crazy passionate about this game. I love playing it, and when it gets taken away from you. Now, this was a voluntary takeaway. I, you know, went under the knife on purpose. Um, so that makes it a little bit harder, but you really find out how much you do truly love something when you can't do it. You know, it's like New York pizza. God, I love New York pizza, and I can't do it all the time.

Dan

Yeah, very much longer. Golf's missing, you miss you missing.

Matt

Yeah. What happened to Joe? Did we lose Joe? Yeah, he's on diaper duty. I'm out. I'm out.

unknown

All right.

Matt

Well, was there anything else you guys wanted to chat about? I was gonna have him wrap this up, but he's gotta be here in order to do that.

Dan

He'll be coming right back.

Matt

Uh as Joe said earlier, if you've made it this far, we really appreciate you being here. And uh, you know, we thank you for it. If you have subscribed to CDP Premium, we thank you so much for that. And uh a lot more to come from us. A lot more to come. All right, Joe. Wrap it up. Please.

Joe

Nope. Uh yeah, uh, as everyone said, golf. Go play golf. Golf is the best. I I'm in the same boat as Matt. I don't get to play as much as I would like to. So if you get to play golf and get out there with your homies and get to play, you're you're living the high life. And uh, I can't wait to get out again. I only got to play nine holes. Uh thankfully, with a friend I haven't seen in a long time. But uh, this is the Chase and Daylight podcast. Episode 371. Thank you, Dan Tefage. Dan Taffy, shake that Dan Taffy. Uh appreciate you anyway. Episode 371, crazy. Uh, we got a milestone four episodes away. 375 is pretty much a milestone, and then 400 right around the corner. Masters is around the corner. It's the start of the major season. Uh, hope everybody picked up their taste of the masters to eat with your friends and enjoy some great golf coming from Augusta, Georgia. The patch is opening. Hopefully, we get to see some of the patch on TV. Uh, that's gonna be cool. That's gonna be cool to see. Uh, shout out Liquid Death, uh, the the main sponsor of the Chase Daylight Podcast. Go to Liquid Death on Instagram and tag chase daylight podcast every chance you get. Uh, go visit damn good damngoodputter.com. Uh go buy some hats. Uh spray on the shows, get your spray. Uh thank you guys so much. Chase Daylight Podcast. We're here every single week. I know it's not 7 p.m. this week, but you know, life happens, 8 p.m. But we are still here on a Tuesday for you. Uh share with your friends. Uh, please like and subscribe. Um but yeah, Jason Daylight Podcast. We're here every week for you. Shout out Joe C as always, and uh make sure you get out there and hit those greens and go check out CarsonGolf.com use code Daylight50 and check out saving yourself some money.
