Opening Banter And Giveaways

Joe

New intro music.

Matt

What is up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast. Those of you listening on the radio right now, uh, through the podcast uh platform, uh it may be April Fool's Day. I don't know if I'm gonna do this tonight and get it out tomorrow. Uh, but we have no April Fool's joke. I wanted to do something, but everything I came up with was just corny. And after last year's epic uh by Dr. Mike. I totally forgot about that. Jeez, it would just be hard to replicate. So uh a good one. So no, no April Fool's jokes. Uh, we're we're gonna talk some golf tonight. Um, thank you so much for being here. If you're new to the show, thank you so much for being here. I just posted this on a grassy app. So hopefully some of the grassy folks are hanging out tonight. Um, it's it's your show too. Hop in, leave some comments. You throw a comment out, we'll share it just like that. Adrian Chef Norrie's in the house. Thank you so much for being here. T Dog. Good evening, guys. Good evening. So, we got a uh a bunch of new shit to talk about. I played golf this past weekend for the first time. New knees, new me, new knee, boys. Jeremy joined me out at Mountain Falls and hung out with me for our fitting event, and then we played the course afterwards and uh had an absolute blast. We could talk about that. Uh, Jeremy, speaking of the damn good putter, uh, he's giving away a hat tonight. Uh winner's choice, winner's choice type uh joint where uh he's gonna show the hat. You could go ahead, show him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, flat brim. Oh, the flat brim. I don't have the flat brim right now. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Hey, I have a flat brim on or I know there's some flat brim people. So we got the black, the white with green. This is a master's edition, unofficial. Oh, he's doing a master's drop. DGP this could be masters too. Yeah, your choice. Black, white, or green. Green, yeah.

unknown

Nice.

Dan

The green joint is sick.

SPEAKER_02

The green is a good one. I really like the green. That's a very good green.

Joe

Uh uh with the yellow embroidery on the green would be sick.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah something might be coming.

Joe

Oh, hey, hey, guys, you guys can also go to damngoodputter, right?com. That's if you want to get one if you don't win the giveaway, but all you gotta do to enter the giveaway is leave a comment and be in the show at the end of the show when we pull the giveaway. We you never know when we're pulling the giveaway.

Matt

I gotta start that one second. I almost didn't do that.

Joe

Oh, you got the guys comment again. What a look. Screwed it up.

Matt

Screwed it all up. You know how many times I messed that shit up on whatnot? Oh man, that's like one of the first, but I was late coming out here tonight because I got a bunch of stuff going on. Uh, so Grassy. Uh, if you guys know about the Grassy app, we've been talking about it. I've been hanging out on that app a lot, doing a lot of fun with it. They're giving away the quantum driver tomorrow. Um hopefully, you know, hey, like I said last week, if I win, you win. So my elite driver, if I win the quantum, that elite driver will be given away on a show. So um, you know, if you're looking in the market for a new driver or a new upgrade to your current driver, hope I win the quantum. Because if I do, I'll be we'll be giving away the elite. So uh yeah, watch out for that. It's like 19 hours away, is when they're doing the giveaway. Super rigged. If it I put it in in the I put a link. If you're not on the grassy app and you're watching the show, look in the comments. The very first comment we have, I I posted it's right here, can show it. Uh, there's there's the link to uh my uh referral code. Uh it's just go to that app, sign up, complete your profile. You five twats that haven't finished your profile and have me in the you know, possibly losing out on a 250 gift card.

Joe

Come on, finish good way to get them to fill it out. Call them a twats, yeah. That's a good way.

Matt

Slackers, twats and slackers.

Joe

Also, something else happening tonight. If you guys are not in the know and you're one of the swag boys, uh swags started on April 1st. They're they're dropping their April 1st drop at uh midnight central time. So if you want to buy stuff from swag to resell on whatnot or something like that, there you go. I'm not a huge fan, but hey, not a huge fan. I think their quality used to be much better, but hey, I don't know what they're coming out with. I might like something.

Matt

So hey, Jeremy saw firsthand the quality of that rose and fire stuff.

Joe

I did. Very impressive.

Matt

It's very impressive, very good quality stuff. So check them out too. Rose and fire. Rose and fire's good stuff.

Joe

Yeah, I almost ordered one. They that their masters head cover. Uh I was watching one day last week, but the master's head cover looked really good. Uh, it looks like they got great embroidery.

Matt

So it's fantastic.

Woodland Win And Tiger Trouble

Joe

Absolutely. I did not, I did not need catch a steal.

Matt

But uh, so some of the things um we'll talk about we are we can talk about these are some of the top news stories going over the last 72 hours. Uh, how about Gary Woodland winning Houston? Was that not freaking amazing?

Joe

I mean best, best scenario. I've always loved Gary Woodland.

Matt

Oh, I mean, man, tears. Gonna say it. It that it's an emotional, it's an emotional thing, man. It was it was fun to watch. It was awesome. Story. I mean, just just shows you how much pressure him coming out and talking about what he's been going through took off of him to then go out there. And some of those shots he hit, holy crap.

Joe

I mean, honestly, I think I've said it before, but probably one of the uh top, at least top three stingers on tour. Absolutely, yeah. If not, top three, yeah, if not agreed.

Matt

Uh Tiger today pleaded not guilty uh to DUI and said he's gonna step away from professional golf and get himself right. Did he say that? That's that was a press reading with a yeah, he pleaded not guilty and then said he's gonna step away from the game, step away from professional golf and get himself fixed or get himself right.

Joe

Shout out the PR team for I just wish he would have waited until after the masters because he was gonna play too.

Matt

Well, you never know. It may only take him five days to get right. I've kicked my opioid addiction in five days. I'm good, let's roll.

Joe

Yeah, give me a card, let's go. Go take some ayahuasca, take a quick plane ride to get some ayahuasca, and then just you know three days in the darkness, put it all out, and then playing masters. He was gonna play too. That's a bummer.

Matt

I know he was gonna play, but he would have been high, but so I don't know. They they said they found some some oxy in his pocket, he was glassy-eyed, hydrocodon was dilated.

Joe

Um, do you guys hydrocodon in his pocket? Yeah, what is his name? Big John Goffs, right? Do you guys know Big John Goffs? He was buddies with, I think it's Big John. Uh he's buddies with Dod King, C V A golf. He he because he smokes every day and he like takes mushrooms and he runs and he drinks, but anyway, he was like, Give me the blame. Give me the blame. I put me in the car, Tiger. I'll I'll take the keys, I'll take all of the blame, I'll be your driver. Really, really funny stuff.

Matt

Yeah, I mean, who wouldn't? I I'll move to Jupiter to be his driver. Good god. I mean big John, right? He just stop driving. Just stop driving. Just stop driving. Okay. There. Stop driving. Don't have to worry about getting car accidents. Don't have to worry about potentially killing innocent people. Just stop driving.

Joe

Well, you're putting other people on harm, which is which really part. I don't know if I talked about this last week or if I talked to Katie about it, but tiger being tiger, like it's probably one of the only moments where he feels like he's like normal too. When he's driving.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

Joe

You know what I mean? Like he can step into any room and people somebody knows who he is, at least. So maybe like that's his. But maybe you shouldn't pop a bunch of pills beforehand, you know, and endanger other people, but you know, so I kinda understand why he likes to drive from that perspective.

Matt

I mean, if you like driving cars, then driving is I mean, I love driving. I love driving. I know Jeremy loves driving. Absolutely love it. So, you know, having that taken away from you, and especially if you think about like older people that you know, when they find out, hey, you can't operate a vehicle anymore, you know, it's it's devastating to some of them, you know, they've been driving cars their whole life, and now you know, oh, you say I can't drive, I'll show you.

Joe

So just know your role. Not to like cause harm to others, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, just stop driving, just buy a Rolls-Royce and get driven around, Tiger.

Matt

Come on, yeah. I mean, like, who's not who's not gonna provide him with a MyBok, you know, that's decked out with a driver.

Joe

Did you see the foreplay thing today where it was like their apology to uh because they didn't address the topic, and then I think people came after them for like not addressing the topic? Did you not see that? I see a video because Kisner's on foreplay now, so yeah. Kisner's obviously close with Tiger, but yeah, they were like, We'll leave TMZ to do that. You know, our thought was we'll leave TMZ to go take care of that, and you know, Newsweek or whatever. Our thought was like, we'll just leave it alone and we won't even speak on it. And I think they got railed for supporting his actions in comments or something like that. Yeah, yeah, it's stupid.

Matt

You can't you can't support their no and nobody's talk about it, they don't even talk about it, yeah.

Joe

Yeah, and they were their whole thing was like um Riggs' whole thing was like we want him to get help, we love the guy, right? Like, and that's for a lot of golfers, it's kind of hard because like we love the guy, but you fucked up. Yeah, kind of one of those things.

Matt

It's like well, I mean, look how help.

Joe

We want you to get help.

Matt

Look how fast you did not take how fast he got a pass on the infidelity stuff, you know. Yeah, I mean, that was like news, and then nobody gives a shit anymore. You know, I'm Tiger Woods.

Joe

He's he's gotten out of a lot of shit, honestly.

Matt

Yeah, yeah. And you know, when you're when you're Superman, you know, it it's it's tough to uh come down off that mountain. Honestly, well, yeah, because I mean look, he obviously has an issue with pain management, clearly, yeah.

Joe

Of course, that's not that's not as lower end body, dude.

Matt

And I mean, I had a uh a knee surgery, and I freaking love the pain pills, love them, so I get it. And if your pain's not getting any better, totally get it. But you know what? I I don't drive on that shit. It's it's scary when you're on your couch. I imagine being behind the wheel of a car, just mm-mm. You gotta know, you gotta know. Hey, yeah, I may be invincible in life, but you know, yeah, for the sake of everybody else.

Joe

Did you see also um that his monkshot photo, the polo that he was wearing, a bunch of people went and bought every polo and sold it out. Jesus, and it's going for like$400 on eBay.$120. Yeah, it's a Sunday red polo.

Matt

Oh, marketing plot right there. I'll roll the car and we'll clear inventory.

Joe

Dude, it's going. I think I saw a listing at like 26 bids, and it's at 370 bucks or something like that.

Dan

Jesus, it's crazy. That's the world we live in now.

Matt

Absolutely, all for the hype. I mean, there was a head cover within hours.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that was impressive.

Joe

Yeah, well, shit. I mean, the whole thing could be for a fucking story to like boost nothing's real. Look through it under a microscope, dissect, blah blah blah. You know, you never know. They could have been like, hey, he could have been training with stunt drivers for two months how to flip a vehicle, and then they just put some fucking spearmint gum in his eyes to make him look all red. Who knows? Who knows? Question, question everything.

Matt

There's gonna be the the conspiracy videos of them slowly rolling the land roller over before before anybody comes around the corner.

Joe

On one of those little rails.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, someone climbs out of the other door and someone climbs back in.

LPGA Fireworks And Shadow Creek

Matt

Yeah, yeah. All right, and action. Oh man, too funny. That's crazy. Uh, so that was that we can talk more about Tiger if we want. Uh uh, who oh, I'm sorry, I'm gonna just butcher this. I'm just gonna say uh uh Hayu Kim. She made LPGA history over the weekend. Juju Kim. Huju Kim? Yeah, okay, thank you. She saw at uh multiple 61s in the tournament for the first time in the history of the LPGA, so that was pretty impressive. Uh, I saw that Nellie went crazy and then lost, didn't win. I was like, oh my goodness. So they were absolutely lighting up that golf course down there. A little bit more challenging course for them this week as the LPGA comes back to Vegas for a full field event, not a match play event. It has been there previously, not last year, but the two years before, as a match play event, and that is no more. This is a full field two days cut, two days event for a big purse out of Shadow Creek. So it'll be nice to see. Oh, I I mean, let's hope we get some some you know, one through five, one through six views of the golf course. Because you know how they always do everything that's filmed there, you never see the first four holes, it's always just the the back. I don't know why that is. Yeah, I don't know why that is because they're I mean, man, the second hole is fantastic, the third hole, it's okay, but the fourth hole is special. Yeah, it's just let's see some of that, please.

SPEAKER_02

That course looks insane. I mean, in of course, in person it's insane, but on TV it looks so good. They just need to make sure to show the whole course.

Quantum Driver Fitting Results

Matt

Yeah, well, it's not gonna be under the lights, it'll be daytime, so and uh nice windy weather, so it's gonna be challenging for the players. Blowing 30 miles an hour up at the house today. Oh, yeah. All day windy as hell. So get an uh invite to play Las Vegas Country Club tomorrow afternoon, but I think with the 40 mile an hour wind gusts, may not may not play. Just a little aggressive on the wind. Jeremy's like, can I have it? Uh let's see. Um, Gary Woodland and Nikolai Hoosengurden uh both earned their spots into the masters. Gary with the win, and Nikolai with his uh rankings in the top uh OWGR. And Kevka missed another cut. Those were the professional golf stories. Uh, another golf story coming up this weekend is the Anwa, the Augusta National Women's Amateur, Asterix Tally, who is the highly talented 17-year-old phenomena to that tournament to try and recover from her last hole loss last year. She just played, she played really well. I think she got top 20 or top 25 in this four championship. And uh Yana got a top 15. She played really well. Started out hot. Started out really hot. She was right there. So uh Eric's Eric's throwing dice in the chat. Wrong, wrong show, Greenley. Wrong show. But thank you for being here, brother. Oh so I want to talk about Jeremy's golf game right now. Because he got he got quantumed. I did. He got quantumed over the weekend. Uh we had we had some free time because uh the one of the appointments didn't show up, and the other appointment took five minutes, ten minutes maybe. Uh so we we had a lot of free time. Dan, let me ask you this because Jeremy and I didn't know this. Did you know that there is a putting green to the right of the driving range at Mountain Falls over by the 18th hole?

Dan

No, I don't record that.

Matt

Yeah, there's one over by the first hole.

Dan

T-box. Yeah, well, there's one by the first hole, and there's are you talking about the one right behind the team area where the uh next to the uh bunker, where the bunker area is?

Matt

Yeah, so there's two on that side, but we found one greens and then the big putting green over by the the cart barn.

Dan

Okay, no, I didn't think I knew that was there.

Matt

There's another one between the range and the 18th green. Did not know did not know that was there. So we that's where we set up. Uh this is at Mountain Falls for everybody. I'm sorry. Uh so we we set up over there. So we had the putting green to play with, we had the range to play with, and uh we got Jeremy dialed on the quantum max driver with with the the denali black frost, the the new green. No, no, no, no. The putting green was next to the range, we were talking about and uh so we got him dialed in to with that driver, and you I mean, absolutely smashing the ball, yeah, smashing the ball, and so then we go out and we played, and he played with the driver, and uh you hit one bad T shot, one just little little pull, but he was averaging because I was looking every time we pulled up to his ball, he was you were averaging like 318, 320 off the T. Just ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02

And they were like, the the craziest part about that is is that Denali shaft is a stiff, yeah, not even extra stiff like I normally play. I can just like smooth swing it, and it just flies.

Matt

It's crazy. We messed around with a like three different extra stiff shafts, and I said, you know what, let's try this. And we haven't had anybody really fit into this yet. And uh wow, oh my goodness, just and way better than you were hitting it at legacy. Oh, yeah, way better.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and the other surprise was the three-wood, the 15-degree with that new Tor AD shaft, the green one that we've been talking about for a while.

Matt

Yes, wow, you were carrying that thing 270. Yeah, it'd be expensive, and like high. Joey's gonna tell me, Matt, Jeremy can never go with you again. Next time I'll try irons.

Joe

Oh man. Oh, if you switch to Callaway irons, that'll be a statement for sure. I don't know if I will. He won't.

Matt

He won't. The only the only Callaway iron he would switch to is is the blade one. That's true. That's that's hard to those. Those are gorgeous.

SPEAKER_02

I do like the ones Dan has that combo set.

Vegas Events And Tournament Logistics

Matt

Yeah, well, the the new CBs, new CBs are coming. Oh, Vicky Sanchez in the chat.

Joe

Also, guys, we're giving away a free DGP hat for the giveaway tonight. All you gotta choose to do is make a comment and be present when we pull the giveaway. Shout out to Vic Sanch.

Matt

Vic, where have you been? Are you playing Mountain Falls? Did you get in Mountain Falls or are you doing that Tropicana thing that weekend?

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit. I saw him sign up for Wild Horse Beef.

Matt

Yeah, no, no, it's dude, I don't know.

Joe

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Matt

Uh we got we got 64. We can't fit anymore. They won't give us any more.

SPEAKER_02

So the course is in great shape. Like if it if it stays cool, the greens were running really well. Everything's really green, too.

Matt

I do not see Vic Chanchez. We've got 26 players in the field for the spades fly.

Joe

Just put my new Garson grip on my putter. Love it. Shout out, Garson. If you guys need a Garson grip, you can use code Daylight15 on their website. Shout out Garson.

Matt

Daylight 15. Get you some Gars.

Joe

We might be giving away something special next week, too, on the show, right? Are we gonna do that? Are we gonna do it? A one of 100? Is it a one of 100, right? Yeah, we might be doing that next week. So maybe you should watch the video.

Matt

I still have another one of these.

Joe

Holy moly. I can't wait to see next week's.

Matt

This this may collect some dust though. May have to hold on to this one.

Joe

See order. Shadow box it.

Matt

Just yeah. In case of emergency, break glass, put it behind some glass. Oh, look at them. He's going to try. I see how it is. I s I see Vic.

Joe

Where's the drop event at? I saw a thing for him. Yep.

Matt

It's at two different courses, isn't it? Vic. I can't remember. I thought it was a two separate places, but I could.

Joe

Vic, who is running drop nowadays for Vegas? Do you know Matt? I don't know. Because I know Chris to step in.

Matt

I know uh uh uh VJ. He's helping.

Joe

I don't know how. Shout out VJ, absolute legend.

Matt

Dan trying the LDJ.

Dan

What LDJ is? It doesn't even have a it doesn't even have a um a um cog on it. It's just it's just a uncut shaft. I have a house of Ford shaft and I texted Eric earlier about it asking if he had any info or insight on it. And uh he's like uh yeah, don't don't play it unless you plan on playing your driver 48 inches long. Oh Jesus.

Joe

Oh this comment lit oh yeah, go ahead. Lived four years in Vegas, Henderson, and now regret not playing any golf out there. I think Brian, I think you're new newer here, too. Am I wrong there?

Matt

But Brian is who golf?

Joe

Oh, okay, who golf? Uh grassy, grassy, yeah, big grassy guy. Uh but yeah, we got some great golf out here. Great.

Matt

You're not too far away either, so you can always at he uh commented on one of my posts on Grassy earlier, said he's gonna be in Vegas in a couple weeks, so we uh we're gonna try and get out. Nice.

Joe

Oh, yeah.

Matt

Vic says they are playing Legacy and Chimera.

Joe

Oh, so it's a double, it's 36 holes every weekend. Wow.

Matt

So yeah, that's hey, hey. Go go get you some hardware. Come on, Sanchise. Yeah, we need we need the sanchise back. That's how you you're in for Paiute and Wild Horses. That's good.

Joe

I'll play anywhere I can. I don't get to play golf anymore, really.

Matt

Yeah, well, Mountain Falls. You know, we have there's seven players on the wait list right now, which I I'm excited about that, but you know, I'm kind of upset. I I was really hoping they were gonna give us 72. I told them I wanted 64 to 72 players, held off. They just went with the smaller number, apparently. Um, I talked to the guys on Monday trying to get some more spots after Jeremy and I played it because the course is in oh my gosh, it's in such good shape. And uh said now, unfortunately, you know, we have T times and other things going on, so we can't get you guys any more players. So, you know, 64 players. That that's what it is. Yeah, nope. If uh if you're in the field and you can't, let me know as soon as you can so I can get some of those guys on the wait list in. And then uh Paiute on the 2nd of May, that's a month away, because tomorrow's April 1st. Uh, that's filling up quick. I think we already got 50 guys in that. So 22 more spots available for that one. And that one I may be able to add more players if it gets crazy because uh we're going off at 11 a.m. that day. That's 11 a.m. Yeah. I hope everybody, I'm gonna make sure everybody is aware of that. In order for us to get a rate that was not astronomical, we had to go off a little later. So um that's gonna be hopefully the the April showers keeps it cool until the heat wave uh at the end of the month gets here. So is it a shotgun or tea times? Tea Times.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, oh shit.

Matt

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I'll bring my sleeping bag.

Matt

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

Matt

Jeremy and I will be out there till uh the uh the Indians are playing their music. Maybe Paiute will build those cottages before I gotta pull out of Snow Mountain, but I will be there for Mountain Falls. Okay. No problem. Plenty of room in Paiute, so that's fine.

Joe

True Vegas test. Yeah, Paiute is the one.

Matt

It is the one.

Joe

It is the one.

Matt

Dan is the resident mayor of Paiute. Jeremy shared something with me just a little while ago. It was funny. Uh somebody on Instagram. Oh, where to go? Where'd it go? Uh somebody on somebody on Instagram is is using my list on 1440 as their list of golf courses they've played.

unknown

Let me know.

Matt

So uh that's pretty funny.

Joe

You know, that is funny.

New Knee Return To 18 Holes

Matt

Hey, it's a great reference point, so thank you. You can green screen anything, you know. A little shout out would be nice, but thank you. Yeah, not gonna be too mad about it. So, all right. Uh, the knee knee update, breaking news, knee update. I played golf, it was exciting. Look at I got the look at the tan. Look at that. A redneck already. A redneck already. Vitamin D is pulsating through my veins because I was out on the golf course playing golf with Jeremy. All right, Jeremy, I never asked you when we were in the car ride back. How do you think I played?

SPEAKER_02

Honestly, you played way better than I expected. I I was nervous the whole time. Every time you hit a t-shot, I was like, that's his knee is just gonna buckle. Something's gonna happen with that knee, but it didn't. And I mean, there were a couple times where you had like awkward uphill lies that you were kind of worried about it, but yeah, I was surprised how strong it is already, honestly. I didn't think you could finish 18 hole.

Matt

Yeah, and we played quick too, and and that I was a little worried about that because I'm like, you know, we're because there was nobody, it's just us two on the course. There was nobody on the side.

Joe

You play 18. You played 18.

Matt

Yeah, yeah. We played in like just under three hours, I think. It uh it was it was fun, it was nice. I I had one shot where I was it was in the ball, it was in the bunker, but I was outside the bunker, it was an uphill shot, and I was just trying to lay it up, and I hit a six iron and I fucking pured it, but I didn't hit any dirt, and I cleared the lip, and I'm like, how the hell did that happen? That you're a little tentative there. I'm like, uh yeah, just a little bit, just a little bit.

Joe

But now, do you think you're like because I mean tentative golf is not good golf, right? Like you you play tentative sometimes as well as I do. Do you think you're more tentative playing with the new knee? Like you're worried to buckle it or make it worse, or I do you feel confident in it?

Matt

Yeah, I've had more, I've had several, you know, my my physio, uh, Dr. Freeman, and you know, I met with a doctor yesterday, and they're like, You can't hurt that thing, there's nothing that you can do to hurt that thing.

Joe

So yeah, it's just you feel good about it.

Matt

Yeah, I I feel confident with it. It's just awkward, you know, because right now the the muscles still all aren't firing at a hundred percent. You know, the the quads and and and some my calf musels and everything are just kind of okay. We kind of get what you're doing. We're not really on board yet, but I get what you're doing. Yeah, and and so it's that, and then just the some of the awkward stances, just trusting it. You know, it's it's different when you're in pain and you don't want to swing because it hurts, versus you're just not sure yet.

Joe

But I mean, that's one of the things that will just kill your game if you're not confident and you swing in tentative. Yeah, I mean, to anybody that's new. I mean, like if if you're not confident in what you're trying to pull off, I mean, tentative golf is not the way to play golf, and that's why the best players are confident in their game and they're they commit. So that's why I was curious about that.

Matt

But yeah, I didn't play tentative.

Joe

Don't play.

Matt

I didn't have uh any shots that I was like, no, I I can't pull that off. Um, you know, there oh well, no, there was one where I would have been in the bunker and it was out of the bunker, and I just moved it a little bit because I didn't want to, you know, cheater. Yeah, total cheater. Um but I was just trying to, I was just trying to be a little protective uh of it, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Of course.

Matt

Um, but I mean for the most part, I mean I was happy. I was happy.

SPEAKER_02

Um I hit like a hundred range balls before that the whole day. I mean, yeah, we didn't. I I expected kind of like a tennis grunt every time you hit, but I didn't hear anything. So I think you're back to normal.

Joe

How did the welcome back feel? Did you hear any like angelic horns or any strings, any violins or anything? Yeah, I think was it?

Matt

I stood on that first T was it. I stood on the first T and hit that shot and piped it. Well, not piped it for me. I hit it well, and it was nice little high little, you know, maybe two-yard draw right down the middle of the stairway.

Joe

And I was just like, Goose.

Matt

That's so good. The goose. The gooseies are there, man. The goose. Yeah, so but you know, some of the uh some of the some of the shots that I hit, I was I was pretty impressed with. Uh, I'm seeing some decent numbers, seeing some good numbers. Those greens out there are very tricky. The Mountain Falls Greens are very tricky. So, you know, it was it was good playing it to get an idea, because I think had I not played it going into the tournament, um, I would have been probably the same way I played Sunday, you know, just overreading some breaks and not understanding how much uphill something was. But I think I got a better understanding of that now, so I'll be ready for that.

Joe

Yeah. I mean, it's a great course. I mean, it's like any, it's it's definitely like if somebody comes to visit Vegas, it's definitely worthy of the drive.

Matt

Yeah, easy drive.

Joe

It's one of our I mean, isn't it funny how like most of our best courses are on the outskirts?

Matt

Like, where we recommend Boulder Creek, Prim, Mountain Falls, Paiute, exactly. It's because the land is so valuable, and the courses on the inside charge way is too much for shout out, GMA. That's hilarious. Uh you were forgiven. Keeping your green secrets close. Like, yes, 100%, 100%. Oh, oh, oh, speaking of greens, speaking of greens. So, are you talking about what what were you gonna talk about? What I was gonna talk about.

SPEAKER_02

The thing that I can't remember what the name is, but it analyzes your putting.

Matt

Yes, so I'm starting a new venture, uh, kind of. We'll see how it goes. Uh, but after working with Preston, shout out Preston Combs. If you haven't listened to that episode, go back and listen to it. He's one of the premier putting coaches in all of golf, and he is amazing. He sat down with me, we had a chat. He also gave me a lesson, and it inspired me, absolutely inspired me. And I started looking around town, and there's not a lot of people or places that do putting analysis. Uh, there are some, but not a lot.

Joe

And I think it's underrepresented for sure, everywhere a hundred percent, a hundred percent.

Matt

So uh Preston talked to me a little bit about the software, and it's vertex, it's V-E-R-T-E-X, and it's a little small little device that clips on the underside of the putter shaft. Jeremy, did you even notice it was on there? I mean, I noticed it was there, but it didn't change anything. It didn't, it doesn't affect anything, it it weighs like four grams, it's super light. Um, it's not in your eyesight. I mean, you can see it, but it's not like predominantly in front, like you know, you use a Sam Putt Lab, you have that big triangle device on the front of your putter shaft. Not like that whatsoever. Um, and so we went over to the putting green and dialed in some of Jeremy's stuff. And I mean, it's it's eye-opening, isn't it? You know, and it it explained almost instantly why Jeremy was doing what he was doing, you know, and it's you see it, you see the putting you go, oh yeah, I pushed that, I pushed that, I pushed that. And well, why did you push it? You know, why why is that happening? And so the software gives a ton of data points, and uh, we really were able to dial in uh your your uh your stance and and your stroke. And I mean Jeremy has a really, really good putting stroke. There's a reason he's a damn good putter.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I'm about to be a damn better putterer, damn better putter. You know, DGT premium, yeah. Yep, DGP premium DGBP, damn good better putter. It's gonna cost more to stitch.

Matt

Yeah, more thread count on that. But I'm excited for anybody that wants to find out about this. So I'm trying to put together a package. I've already talked to a couple people. Uh, was talking with Jeremy afterwards and asking him if he thought that uh the information that was provided was valuable. And he was like, absolutely. I talked with Cliff a little bit today, he's excited about it. So, and I know there's some other people, Rob wants to check it out. I think Ethan Ibarra wants to check it out. So if uh putting, and this isn't for everybody, that this isn't for the guys that go out and play, you know, once or twice a month, and you know, could care less if they put great. This kind of information is for the players that want to get better. They they want to improve their game, and they want to find out why they're not putting as good as they think they are, or they want to just be a better putter. Um, this doesn't do a lot with green reading. This is more about your stroke, your posture, and and your putting. Um, so uh I'm gonna be putting something together on the 1440 website, and uh, you know, and this thing is mobile. You can go anywhere. You can come to the house, we can do it out back, but any putting green anywhere, I can meet you and we can set it up and uh get your get your putting dialed in. So it's it's kind of fun. I virtual not virtual though, right? What's that? Can you do it virtual or no? No, no, yeah.

Joe

I I gotta be there with the device has to go on the putter and and I gotta be there with the but they could they could fly you out to say like uh Coil Hollow or like National Golf Links of America. Oh yeah, you could bring everything with you to play, right?

Matt

Absolutely, absolutely, and that's what Preston does. I mean, he he flies all over the country and and gives putting lessons. I don't know if I'm ready to go that deep into it, uh, but it's it's potentially still a learning curve, there's still a learning curve, you know. Uh what Preston charges, he completely earns because you know he knows what the hell he's talking about. I'm learning, I'm getting there, and I'm messing around with this every day, trying to understand the data points, and man, it is it is fun. So more more on that to come at a later time. But if you are interested, hit me up and uh let's see if we can get it going.

Joe

I think I saw the golf bench. Uh that's what I was looking for. I was I think the golf bench was with Preston's putty.

Matt

Yeah, yeah. He was.

Joe

I didn't see that, but Chuck's Chuck's awesome, good dude.

Matt

Yeah, uh, I mean Preston, God, he knows his stuff. It's in it's it's incredible. It's incredible. And one of the things that the software does, it tells you how on your backstroke, how how much your face rotates open, and it tells you how much your face rotates closed at impact, right? And so you you ideally want the face to be zero at impact, you know. You want and so I and I posted a story on this on my backstroke, I open the putter face five degrees, but on my downstroke towards the ball, I close it five degrees, and so I'm right at uh right at zero. Um, and that's you know, that's what you want. Doesn't matter if you open it one degree or ten degrees, it's do you close it one degree or ten degrees? And uh was messing with Julian today. I saw him, and he opens it up eight and a half degrees, but he closes it eight and a half degrees, and he's being right-handed for lefty. Jeremy's was he opens it two degrees, he closes it one and a half. So that half a degree open was one of the reasons why he was you know pushing his putts right. So yeah, we worked on some some setup changes to that, and it was uh it was pretty awesome to see he's like, Oh my god, I've never hit a putt like that before.

SPEAKER_02

It was it was uh I was I was pulling putts the rest of the round we played after. I pulled every single butt, never pulled a putt in my life. Crazy. So it I a lot to work on, but yeah, for sure. Like it for me, knowing why something happens like that and wanting to get better, it's extremely valuable. So valuable it's so simple, too. Like just seeing it gives you. I think we looked at like 10 or 15 data points, yeah, and just seeing the numbers. This is why it doesn't match because you're coming in, you're holding the face open, or whatever it is, you can immediately correct it and see the result immediately.

Joe

It's also such like a neglected area of golf. Like, people will go get fit and they'll understand the numbers on track man and swing path club face. But like, I mean, besides like maybe us, like have you ever heard of anybody going get fit for a putter or like understanding what the putter is doing? Like, you might see on Instagram is Brad Brad Faxon or something like that, yeah, trying to describe something, but it's so slept on.

Matt

It's Dan, have you ever had a putter fitting? Or never had a putter fitting. No, no, no, I'm dying with the numbers because you have such a good putting stroke.

Joe

It's I'm so envious of your putting stroke. I can't wait to do that. I did Quintick with Julian at Club Champion, and he's like, This putter was made for you. We didn't change anything. The stroke's game. Shout out, Neil, shout out Ross. Um, but I ordered that on a blind eye, you know. I I didn't know what I was getting, but it works for me. So but yeah, it's very slept on. And if you want to improve your scores, like that's the club, honestly. Putting is the one. That's the club. That's the club. Be a DGP.

Matt

That's all I got. You guys got anything else? I know there's things out there. Joe, talk about whatnot. You've had you haven't said whatnot in like 40 minutes.

Joe

Uh what's new in the whatnot world? I haven't been on whatnot very much, but if anybody in the chat has any topics you want to discuss, please throw them out there. Um, I haven't been on whatnot much, but I can go, I can talk about it all day, just like golf.

Matt

Did you bring any of your your master's drops up to the room?

Joe

Are they still down in there? No, they're down there, but bookmark Thursday show. I think that's when we're doing it. I think we're gonna do it Thursday night. Yeah, it's so much the game has changed. I got good putter fitting. Yeah, shout out Nori. Um, I don't know. Where'd you get that at? Nori. Yeah, curious. It's kind of weird. It is a it's different though. Like a putter fitting is very different, it feels more intimate, honestly.

SPEAKER_02

Does and what the it feels like you get exposed, kind of, yeah, like it's I mean, you get exposed in an iron fitting, too.

Joe

You do like dude They're like aim at the target, just aim at the target. Aim at the target.

Matt

The first five minutes with Preston, and and he was like, You're not a good putter. He didn't say that, but you you could tell he was thinking it, you know. And I was like, No, I am damn it, I am a good putter.

Joe

You can fake it, you can fake it in an iron or driver fitting, but you can't fake it in a putting putter fitting. Yeah, yeah. That's the fear.

Matt

Uh yeah, you don't want to be. I mean, I got knocked down several soapboxes. I was like, oh damn, you know, and it was backed up by the it was yeah, 100%. It's made me so much better at putting because he was like, uh, no, Matt, what you do is awful, but let's fix it.

Joe

I mean, growth growth happens when you're uncomfortable.

Matt

Yeah.

Joe

Yeah. In life and business and golf.

Matt

I do want to talk about one thing. So when I had the surgery, I told Tim Flote. Tim Flote, if you're not following Flote Golf on Instagram, go check him out. He is the this person that I look to to improve my golf swing and be a better golfer. He is a PGA professional that's based in San Antonio, he used to live in Vegas. Awesome, awesome guy. And he knows his shit. Unreal, what he knows. And he blows me away every single day with his information. But he uses Skillist as the app for you to submit, you know, lessons and everything. And so I've been sending him, we've been working on it the last uh week. And he sent me a video because I sent him a swing. And I'm like, this is what we're working with today. You know, I said, I'm I'm got the okay to golf. I'm gonna uh you know, I'm gonna send you some videos. And he's like, send it through Skillless, let's let's dial it in. Because on that app, he can draw lines and get angles and get numbers and you know the full gamut of resources to him. And so he I sent the first video and and he sent back uh he broke down my swing on a video. He broke down my swing compared to another player's swing, another video. Then he provided me with four videos of things to work on. And afterwards, after I got done watching it, I sent him a message and I'm like, dude, I just want to say what you just did is what I've been looking for. You know, I am somebody that is very cause and effect. I want to know what is causing this. You know, why am I throwing it early? What is causing it? You know, and for the longest time, people just said, Oh, you just got to speed up your hands, or you just gotta do this, you know. But he like, we're we're starting like from basics. We're we're gonna get your your stance and your posture and everything correct. And the the video was absolutely amazing what he did and and his talking me through the the exercises. And I told him, I said, I can't, I can't thank you enough. And he goes, that is the difference between a lesson and a coaching program. He goes, You're getting the experience of a coaching program, not a lesson. So again, if you are somebody that wants to get better at this game, not just go out every other weekend and get drunk with your buddies and not rake your bunkers and don't fill your divots, and you're passionate and you want to get better, find yourself a coach that will coach you and teach you the proper way to swing a golf club, and and it will benefit you tenfold over going and getting a lesson, one lesson. I I was I was not.

Joe

Not all coaches are created equal, either.

Matt

No, and you know, I've been I've been back in golf since 2009 is when I picked the game back up and I've been taking it serious and trying to get better ever ever since. You know, I'm down to a four and a half handicap. I got to a three, two is my low. I I'm learning how to play this game every single day better, and it blew like literally blew me away. I've been showing the video to everybody, everybody that'll sit there and watch it with me. I've been showing it to because it is impressive what a coach with a plan can do for you versus just going and taking a lesson. Not that you don't get valuable information, but it is crazy. I was blown away. So I want to give a tip of the cat to Tim, and I'm gonna get him on the podcast eventually to talk about you know going about getting a coach because it's it's impressive what he's doing.

SPEAKER_02

And if you need a course, check course command.io. Yeah, exactly. And he's on there.io. Yeah, Tim's on there, bunch a bunch of guys. I think Colby's adding new people like every week.

Joe

Yeah, course command.io. No, that you've missed it. Here you go. Nori's got a good one. Nori's got a good one.

Matt

Um going to St. George for a few days. I know there's a ton of great golf courses there, but wanted to get y'all's recommendations. Uh so I'll go first. Copper rock. I'll go first. I'll go first. Copper rock. Black Desert. That's all you need to play. Leave it up there.

Joe

I mean, differences of opinion for sure.

Matt

Sand Hollow is you gotta play San Hollow because it's Sand Hollow. But you want good golf, Copper Rock. Black Desert is expensive, but man, it's a fun ass golf course.

SPEAKER_02

You wanna if you want chill vibes, go play the Dixie Red Hills 9. That's fun. I've never gotten a few years ago. That's a fun one.

Joe

If you want to have that's like top of my bucket list out there, top, top, top.

SPEAKER_02

I would skip St. George Golf Club. That place, not great.

Matt

What's the one? Um, Coral Canyon? Coral Canyon's good.

SPEAKER_02

They're making a comeback, I think.

Joe

They kind of went downhill for a few years, but I think what I've seen they're the one we played for VGN, Sky Mountain. Yeah, I would play Sky Mountain. I would not.

Matt

It's tough. It's a tough. There's some good holes, and the the closing holes are fantastic, but I don't think I don't think they uh there's a lot in the middle that shouldn't be there.

Joe

I will tell you if you want it, depends on budget as well. I think the ones you gotta hit, you gotta check off sand hollow. You have to, right? Though those holes, what is it, 12 through 14? You have to play those holes. A lot of people don't like that front nine. I like that front nine, I enjoy it. Uh Ledges is killer, the front nine's kind of boring, but the back nine is sick. Copper rock nowadays you have to stay there, so that boosts up the cost, but it's a killer.

Matt

Entrada's another one that's out there, right?

Joe

Entrada is you have to stay there. Yeah, it's it's it's connected with uh Black Desert now. But you can also take a 30-minute drive and go play Conestoga, Wolf Creek. Um, you can go play those courses as well, or Falcon Ridge. Yeah, I love Falcon Ridge, but depends on your budget. But you honestly, you can't go very wrong out there. There's a lot of great golf out there, a lot of great golf, a lot of great golf. But I I would say you have to play sand hollow just to do it.

Matt

Yeah, I yeah, you gotta have you kind of have to just because yeah, if you go there and play and people ask you why didn't you play San Hollow? You'll have to come up with a pretty good one.

Joe

I would probably do San Hollow, Wolf Creek, Ledges, depending on budget. But you have to you have you also have to play Wolf Creek. If you've never been, you have to go play Wolf Creek.

Matt

If you've never played it, you have to, yes. Exactly.

Joe

If you've never played it, you have to go. I've had the itch to go up and play Wolf Creek again. You have played it in like five, six years.

Dan

Let's do a CDP wolf trip. It's a big nut right now, it's like 320 bucks right now.

Joe

Maybe we'll wait till July. But yeah, we want July. 200 years, you guys like playing this golf course.

Matt

Drop me off the Conestoga.

Course Recs, Training Aids, Dad Life

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's not any cheaper. I've checked Conestoga lately, it's not cheap. They don't do Vegas or local rates either.

Matt

No, no, no. Uh so Brian asks, is the putting alignment mirror a good buy? Will it help me with my putting thoughts? I have one, I don't use it. Uh I thought it was gonna help me with like my shoulder alignment, and it does. You know, if if you look down there and you want to see where your shoulders are aligned to your posture, if you're having some issues with that, that might help you. I don't know. I I don't get a lot out of it.

Joe

I think it depends on your input. Like how dialed are you trying to get? Like, are you putting in the input to get the output? Like you can't just you can't just use it a couple times to set up stance, you know. Like if you're if you're trying to realign your stance, you're gonna have to do that a shit ton of times. And look at that mirror a lot of times to realign your body's tendency to do whatever you're trying to fix. Yeah, help you see what you're trying to do, but you have to you have to put in the input to get the output. Yeah, I would agree.

SPEAKER_02

There's one I haven't used a lot of training aids, but I can't remember the name, it's the orange brand, but they have this little gate drill tool. That one actually is pretty valuable. I think the gate drill things are really good because it trains your the arc of your stroke, it kind of teaches you how to hit it on your line. I think those are more valuable than the mirror, in my opinion.

Matt

Yeah, what I've used. Another thing that's incredibly valuable is some Dr. Shoals foot spray. If you spray that on the face of your putter and pick a target, yeah, and and putt and see where you're hitting that on the face, because that that doesn't lie. Lyboards lie, but Dr. Shoals don't. That'll tell you exactly where you're hitting it at, and that'll show you where your tendencies are, you know. And there's a reason why the pros have that little tiny mark in the middle of their putters because that's where they hit it every single time, and they also practice it all day, yeah. So that's why it's not easy, it's not I I I get blown away when I see like Hogard has Hoshengarden has a black wear spot in the middle of his milled putter, and I'm like, dude, there's never fine earth.

Joe

He got all the way down a fine earth, yeah, because he hit that buttons.

Matt

It is insane how many putts they hit in the same exact spot over and over and over again. It's it's incredible.

Joe

What's that one new one that I keep seeing? It's the the wedge, it's like the orange and stuff. Yeah, that one seems pretty solid.

Matt

It's like a little slope, it's like a oh, it's it for it's for your club to track down behind it and hit the ball. Yeah, so you don't hit it.

Joe

That one looks pretty solid, compact too. I've been thinking about buying that one because I've been hitting shit fat all day. My hands are completely gone. Uh oh. No more floppies. Yeah, I'm I'm not as confident in my flops anymore.

Matt

Hey, if you're if you're in the tournament with Joe, make sure you're on not on the opposite side of the green when he's flopping.

Joe

Be behind I'll still hit, I'll still hit a flop because I don't I don't care about my score, but um, I it's gone, it's completely gone. I have no feel anymore, no feel around the green anymore.

Dan

No, you gotta play more than twice a year, Joe.

Joe

I know. Well, I play like six times a year currently. That's what I'm trending. Stop having babies.

Dan

That's not enough. I've played six times in like the last three weeks.

Joe

I know, I know, I know, I know.

Matt

It sucks. It really sucks. I've played more golf than you lately. How about that? Yeah, that's an eye-opener. Hell that's what I mean. I mean, you know, Matt played more golf than me.

Joe

I was thinking about this like earlier when I was brushing Theo's teeth this morning before we went to school. I remember Prim, and before Theo was born, I was like, This is my last round of golf ever when we played Prim. And then I played a lot of golf. Playing a lot of golf, but number two. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, new boss in the house. Cam two. Yeah, new boss.

Matt

Imagine another. Yeah, hey, you're you're you're a couple months away from baby making months, so you better be careful. No, you know, you got you got all them March babies. Nope when you go on vacation, make sure you're not around come June.

Dan

Mother's Day is coming.

Joe

Far away. Um I I have a little trailer down the street that I stay in. I'm kidding.

Matt

Joe's gonna be wearing a metal chastity belt. Like, no.

Joe

Oh dad life. Yeah, I feel you. Yeah, I have a six and seven-year-old.

Matt

Ooh.

Joe

Yeah. Honestly, it's not it's not the kids, it's just the the organization of the life.

Matt

Oh, yeah. The what you have to do to make sure the daily stuff happens. Daily is the thing.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you know.

Joe

That's why you gotta just buy a bunch of hit and green shit, so and and build hit and greens that way I can just work out of my garage, and then Katie doesn't have to work, and then we're perfect, we're good.

SPEAKER_04

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

It's your fault that he used to have golf. It's all your fault.

Joe

It's your guys' fault.

Matt

Oh man, let's see how many people we got in the giveaway. 11. What? That's it.

Joe

That's it.

Matt

No, not a lot of good conversations.

Joe

We were talking too much. Share the show, please. Uh, it's not whatnot, but you can also share the show. Send it to anybody that you think would like our conversations. We're here every single Tuesday night. Uh, the ways to get in for the the giveaways are to comment and interact, be community. You get a DGP shit hat tonight, damngoodputter.com. Uh yeah. Who's that? Chris. What up, Acosta? How you living? Yeah, yeah, it's not easy. I've been avoiding, I've been avoiding soccer like soccer.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I told you it's coming. Yeah, I know what you need to do, but this is a secret hack, and I I don't know if I should say this, but you need to get Theo into golf because then he's into golf, but he's not old enough to play. Yeah, maybe junior league. When that's when he's ready for that, get him in that because then you'll be playing so much golf.

Joe

I think we get I think we got one more year until we're there.

Matt

Oh, hey, shout out to Z. What nice round of golf?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he had his first middle school tournament on uh at Wild Horse, which it was it was pretty rough. But I will say the greens look pretty good at Wild Horse right now.

SPEAKER_04

Woohoo!

SPEAKER_02

Shot a 44. That's awesome. Doubled the last hole, hit it hit in the water twice. They have a double. Yeah, he played well. He played well, yeah, had two birdies. When you can't when you don't hit it high and you don't have that carry distance, it's even harder.

Joe

Yeah, I think I've birdied it once and then I've bogied it or double bogeyed it or triple bogied it 400 times.

Matt

Yeah, for some reason, when I am on the left side of that fairway and it's a long shot in, I am fucking Tiger Woods. I hit the most amazing shots into that. But if I'm on the right side, it's in the water. Approach is in the water.

Joe

The thing is, if you ramp on the green, you just want to par. You want to par. Yeah, yeah.

Matt

Par is the ideal score there. Sure. But that I loved it when that was the 18th. I wish they would go back and make that the 18th. Such a good closing hole.

SPEAKER_02

I bet so much more beer is sold after nine, though. Going to 10. Of course. That's really why they switched it.

Matt

Well, and going from two to three. Yep.

Joe

That's they're in a perfect spot there, too. I mean, honestly, I love Wild Horse. We this is no secret. I love Wild Horse. It's where I cut my teeth, and I love that place. I love the the hard firm course bumping and running, and your your ball could be down the middle of the fairway, you'll never find it. I love that shit.

Matt

See, I I hope that in all this bombing of Iran that we're doing, that they find a water well that just bubbles up water and the wild horse golf course, so they can just make that place green again.

Joe

I mean, I think I saw another post on Instagram the other day where it's like this course where Jack Nicholas won, you would never think is a tour stop from back in the day.

Matt

And golf inside or did that?

Joe

That's yeah, that yeah, that must have been what it is. It's very good bones, very good bones. I love I love wild horse. It's just got a it's got a soft spot for me, too, though.

SPEAKER_02

But the wild horse, there's a lot of good holes.

Matt

The conditions just yeah, the conditions just crap.

SPEAKER_02

Even if it was the greens now, they have a lot of uh potential, but usually if the greens are really bad, I don't care if anything, everything else is dirt, just make the greens good and then I'll enjoy it. But lately, landman bitches see one month, 28 days. Yep, Joe's gonna get his yearly what six rounds of golf in all in one week.

Matt

Yeah, let's go. Yeah, uh all right, so uh grassy app, everybody. If if you're not on Grassy App and you want to get on it and get in that chance to win a quantum driver, you need to do so immediately. The very first comment on this uh feed has the link. Uh, my code, if you just download the app and you want to get in with a code, it's T is in Tom, Q as in Queen55, M is in Matt Z as in Zebra. Use that to join and help a brother out. If I win the quantum, somebody's winning an elite. Nine degree.

Joe

Yeah, yeah. If he wins, if you use the code and he wins the giveaway, we're gonna give it away on the podcast. Not the quantum, the elite, confirmed. We're gonna give no, we're gonna give it away. He's he's a company, man.

Matt

I'm not that company yet. Get in there, he's got stock, guys.

Joe

He's got stock, he's got a lot of stock.

Matt

Don't let him fool you. I did play the new triple diamond glove. It is fantastic, it's expensive, it's pricey, but it was really, really good. Shout out to the company for that, and then on shout out side company, the new Travis Matthews shoes played in those outstanding.

Joe

Waiting on those ones. We'll see.

Matt

They are fantastic. Yeah, those should be here this week. Beds sending everything to the house, so save on shipping so they didn't have to ship all over town. Um, but Trey sent a comment to me today saying, played the shoes, they're fantastic.

Joe

I saw I saw that amigos on the green, guys. Go follow amigos on the green on YouTube as well. I saw that. I saw that.

Dan

Yeah, Trey and I played um he had them on. Oh, you played the U today? Yes, we played it out in 30 40 mile an hour winds. That was brave of you. Yeah, well, it was nice at first two holes, and then like from two to like 17, it was blowing, and then 18 is nice and calm.

Matt

What course do you play?

Dan

Sun mountain.

Matt

Yeah, it was fucking blowing. There's no protection on sun.

Joe

Honestly, one of my most memorable rounds is when me and Dan played as a Twesome before the Greens keepers or the grounds crew were like done with the course, and it was fucking 37 degrees, probably.

Dan

Yes, 40 mile an hour wins, 40 mile-an-hour winds.

Joe

We played sun in an hour and like 47 minutes or some shit like that. Yeah, yeah, I know we're freaking out. That's where I froze. We got it in though.

Dan

Yeah, the guys are try not to pass maintenance. We pass them like on five.

Joe

Yeah.

Dan

Let's play. Okay. Yeah, we're like, fuck that. It's too goddamn cold to wait out here. Yeah, that's too funny.

Matt

That was a good one.

Dan

How'd you play? Uh, better, actually. Yeah, yeah. Um, yeah, I think if I had to guess, I think I shot like 75 or 76, 77, somewhere around there. Trey was giving score. I made a lot of pars.

Matt

Yeah.

Dan

How'd Trey play? Um, I think he said he shot 80 or 81.

Matt

He's on a high right now, he's been playing some good golf.

Dan

Yeah, he's uh he's got his um triple diamond too, his triple diamond max now. So it's getting that dialed in. He hit some stingers today that were unbelievable.

Matt

He has that ball so far. Did you did you watch the Julian playing right-handed video from Amigos?

Joe

No, I haven't seen that yet, but I did see that little tease, and I was like, I want to watch that.

Matt

We were at uh Julian and I when we did uh our red rock fittings. Uh he was practicing right-handed because they're gonna try and do more of those. He's a freak, man. I don't know how he hits it so well.

Joe

I don't know how he does that.

Matt

Dude, he's just talent, just physical talent. Yeah, he's just a freak. Freak of nature.

Joe

Yeah, he's a freak.

Matt

He's one of those guys that he could pick up any sport and he'll be really good at it in two weeks.

Joe

He's athletic, is just an athlete.

Matt

Just an athlete.

Joe

Yeah. Also, he just he just dives so deep into the intricacies of everything, like club building or fitting or whatever, and golf.

Dan

Nori's here. Nori's here.

Joe

He's here.

SPEAKER_02

I know which one he's taking. He already said which one he likes. Yeah, he liked that white one. Yep, here. Throw him up there. I am right, right, right, back, right, back, right. White and green.

Matt

So Nori, I know there's a little lag. Yeah.

Joe

Easier. He just commented.

Dan

So yeah, just I don't know about y'all, but I need another internet invitational. Well, you're going to get that your golf tour coming soon with that whole thing with uh Andros and Horvat. Right. Million a million dollar shootout at when. Million dollar shootout. Wow. At when that's going to be the final.

Joe

Appreciate you, Nori. Thank you for tuning in every week. Also, yeah. You're here every single week. Appreciate you.

Matt

And he's at all the VGN events.

Joe

I know you. I think you are. I haven't met Nori yet. Yeah, I haven't been there this year.

Dan

Laughlin. Yep. Met him for the first time at Laughlin.

Joe

I'll be at I'll be at Mountain Falls. We're gonna we're we're doing Mountain Falls. Just playing Mountain Falls. I gotta go pick them up. My mom, my mom said she's watching the kids. Katie's got a baby shower that day from her fret best friend, but we we figured it out. We're gonna get we're gonna be there. We just gotta figure we just gotta put a bunch of quarters together so we can put them in a bag and hand them to Matt so I can pay for it. You know what I mean?

Matt

Ah that'd be hope to go watch at the wind. How much actually gonna cost? Will we be open to the public? No, they won't open it to the public. It'll be anyway. Every event at the wind is you gotta know somebody that knows somebody that gambles a lot.

Dan

Or get your tickets through Capital One. Yeah, because matches needs to do the match out there, or something like that.

Matt

Did have you did anybody see the prices for the LPGA event?

Joe

I I no no no, but Nelly's coming. So they're way up there, right? Nellie's coming to Vegas.

Matt

Yep, Nelly's coming, Lydia's coming. I mean, Charlie's coming, they're all coming, they're all hanging out at the Bellagio Fountains yesterday.

Dan

Yeah, so they're already here. Nelly was already practicing out there.

Matt

Yeah, yellowtail Shoshimi, and just it's crazy that Jeff Marsh was in Arizona for this four championship, and I'm like, You're coming to Vegas, right? He's like, Nope.

Joe

That's crazy. Why wouldn't he be in Vegas? It's Shadow. That's Shadow. Maybe he's got a gambling problem. No, he did not. He definitely does not. He used to live here. We need to get Marsh on. Did he caddy at So high? Or uh yeah, he caddy it at Sohai, yeah. Yeah. Really? Yeah.

Dan

I wonder if Steve on knows it.

Matt

Oh, yeah. I might have to ask Steve.

Dan

Any news on him? Is he still moving? Um, I don't know. I mean, uh that's still rumors. It might not be like anytime soon, it might be a couple years down the road, but you know, he's got nothing holding mirror.

SPEAKER_02

Steve's been at Sohi forever, right?

Dan

He's been at Sohai since the caddy program got opened up there in like 07 or 08. Wow. Oh wow, he left there that long. He left. He left Bears Best Caddy program to go there. Wow. Yeah. So he's been that's a long time. What's that? 18 years now? Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, 18, 19 years he's been there. About to get a watch.

Joe

Yep, for real. About to get equity. Fuck.

Dan

Uh yeah. Are we uh I gotta talk to you guys about the uh who I met today, maybe in the after show.

Matt

All right, we'll do a little after show. Uh hey, if if there's a little bit of confusion, I'm trying to clean it up. So there's a couple different ways that you guys can support the show. One is subscribing to CDP Premium, that gets you access to the after shows and the future content that we're gonna be figuring out that we're gonna be putting out on there. Uh, some you know, one-on-one interviews, some special stuff. Um, and then the other way you can do it is just uh make a contribution, and that's kind of like leaving a tip. But kind of what not, yeah, it's kind of whatnoty, but it also schedules it to do it every month, just like the subscription. So if you want to make sure you have access to the after shows, and you know, if you're a CDP premium subscriber and you win a drawing, you don't have to be present to win, uh, and other perks. Uh, we have hopefully some really cool stuff coming from and uh that'll be that'll be part of CDP premium. So there's gonna be some beneficial uh benefits to it. Um, but if you if you want to do that, make sure you do the subscribe, not the cunt contribution. Um got paint. If you're watching, I just sent you an email because you did the contribution, and I just want to make sure that that is what you want to do versus a subscription, and I need to get it switched.

Joe

If you are do you want me to take something on his number?

Matt

Yeah, I sent him an email. He didn't respond to it though, so I don't know if he got it. But text him, let him know, Joe. He's on island time, he's on island time. Yeah, he's on island time. It's like five o'clock though, the sun's just going down. Catching some last-minute waves. Uh, but also thank you, Garson. Thank you, Garson. We really appreciate you supporting us. They are blowing up the world right now. Everybody is talking about Garson grips. Uh, we like, you know, I said last week I don't want to toot our own horn, but we do, you know, we heard it here first.

Joe

You heard it here first.

Matt

We love their support, we love that we're working with them. Uh, we love their grips, we love everything that they're doing, and we're super excited that they are still a sponsor of this show, and uh have no plans of that changing anytime soon. So, with that being said, Joe, if you want to wrap this up and then we'll get a little after show going. Damn, I had an idea and I forgot it. Couldn't have been that good. I I hadn't said a damn thing yet. Give me a minute.

Joe

Guys, thank you so much. Uh, Chase and Daylight Podcast. Uh, we're here every single week. Uh we are golfers, we love you guys for tuning in.
