Wedge Builds And Internet Gremlins

I I found a set of KBS 2 or V wedges. They're the right weight for Joe. Um, and so he gave me his wedges on Saturday after the round, and I I got those shafts out and I looked and I measured, and they were gonna be like a half inch short. And he already complains about things that he'll grab my wedges, and even though my wedges are standard length, he's like, These are fucking short.

And uh so I told him, I said, Hey, I have leading the micro machines. I I said, I have my LA shafts from my wedges, uh, my my opus wedges, because I have some new wedges coming. Um, I said, and they're standard length. I said, I I have two that I can pull, and I have a brand new one, and so you can have you know three of the same wedge. And he's like, Okay, yeah, let's do that. So uh, but one of the it one of the issues was one of the wedges had a really tall BB and F Co ferru on it, so the epoxy goes above the, and I didn't want to scrape it and have it really stand out, so I just kind of left it how it was, and so there's a little wrinkle there. Um, and then then there's one that the albatross ferrels, his first rendition of them, they weren't bored out the end when he made them, they were a little tight, and I forgot about that. And so when I put it on, it's got some stress on it, so it's got a little discoloration, like where you can see that the plastic is going, oh shit, this isn't I'm this hurts. Um, and then there's one that's flawless. So hey, I gave him some variety, character.

Yeah, I mean, I would assume that they're like farmers or you know Nebraskans or Huskers or Iowans have a you know, they farm, so they have land, and they're like, hey, let's build a golf course so we can play. And they don't have you know, the obviously the land is better for farming, they make more money off of it, but that's what I would assume. I'm not sure, but I mean, there's there's a ton.

Yeah, and I mean, I don't know, so I'm just so used to playing 18 hole courses. It's it's weird to only play nine, and it's like, do we waste our time playing only a nine-hole course, or do we like, hey, let's go knock out two nine-hole courses, two different ones, or you know, it's just playing nine holes.

That goes to the psychology of like 18 holes, like, and that goes to like preserve 13 holes, shorties, 19 holes. It's like a construct, you know what I mean? Like the original old course was what 21 holes? Was it? I'd I'd have to look that up, but it was not 18. So cult following.

Yeah, I just it it was I was surprised how many nine-holers there was because we were looking, I was like going off grid. Like, let's let's find some place that's gonna take us, you know, 20 minutes off the freeway, just on a straight line on a dirt road to a golf course. And I found some like that, you know, and and uh they're they look pretty cool and they got some pretty decent reviews.

So I think I I mean I think short courses are great if they can incorporate like the it's not a short course, it's a nine-hole course. Well, yeah, it's short on holes, is what I mean. Short on thoughts, short on holes, but short on holes. I like it. Like there's all these ideas out there of the different like King Collins with that they gave to Pinehurst, the different routings and different ways. Like I've seen like the clover where there's six out this way and comes back, six out this way, you know. And I mean, if you you get it in where you can get it in. So I mean, nine holes. I wish we had more nine holes out here, honestly, because I don't have a ton of time anymore. And if I can go get out there and get something in, that'd be awesome.

And so he said, Yeah, I'll check it out. So uh Callaway's doing some really cool things with a golf ball. And today we had an event at a Las Vegas Country Club. Uh, it was for staffers, uh, like the the pros, the guys on staff at golf courses, and an amateur. And so it was a pro am. I was actually supposed to play in this event with Roars. He was gonna come out, and me and him were gonna play tee up in it, uh, but he had some stuff come up and couldn't make it. Um, and so we had an event out there and they had uh a station set up to where uh they're they do ball testing where you can take your ball, hit shots, then hit the Chrome Tour version of that ball and do a comparison. And we had five different people because there wasn't a lot of time. Um, we had five at least five people that hit their gamer, and the numbers were better with the Chrome Tour, Chrome Tour X, Chrome Tour Triple Diamond. And it was surprised, and it wasn't like you know, a little bit, it was like a pretty good difference. I am a company man. Those screens were fast, the pin locations were nasty, they had to do that, but it, you know, at not a lengthy course as far as PGA standards go and major golf goes, it shows you that with the right setup, with the right rough, with tough pin locations. I mean, these guys were not pin hunting on Sunday. They were because they know if they missed, they're fucked. So they're like, I'd rather have a 30-foot putt and two putt for par than go for it and be in a shitty situation and walk away with bogey or worse, you know, and and that's how you can reel it back in. You don't have to change the golf ball, you can manage the golf courses and make them more difficult.

If you have to set up major venues as a US open setup, I'm all for it. I'm all for it. I love to see I love to see these guys all four days grinding and make par. You know, that's that's how I feel a major should be. We're making par is going to be a very good score. And uh I I loved it. I loved it. So I hope there's I hope there's more tougher setups in the PGA because like I said, that's the one where they all go low at the US Open. You know, they don't go super, super low in the US Open, they go pretty low in the Masters. Um but yeah, if they can find some nice tracks and just make that rough super thick and some tough ass greens, tough pin locations. It's that's great golf to me. I love watching that.
