Welcome to Episode 390 of The Chasing Daylight Podcast!

With Dad (Matt) calling in from the road and Jeremy traveling the globe, Joe and Dan take the wheel for a marathon 3-hour episode. We are joined by the one and only Aarik Greenley—former tour club builder and our resident golf equipment expert—who holds nothing back on the reality of the golf gear industry. From massive personal announcements to debunking the biggest myths in club fitting, this episode is packed with unfiltered golf talk.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Dan reveals the monumental news that he was selected in the lottery for 2027 Masters tickets and that the CPD will be attending the Wednesday Par 3 contest.
  • Aarik Greenley shares his journey from being a sponsored skateboarder in his youth to building clubs for PGA Tour players.
  • We get an insider's breakdown on the massive differences between off-the-rack retail golf clubs and actual tour-issued equipment.
  • The crew debates Bryson DeChambeau’s controversial grass-stomping moment at the US Open and the current state of golf rules.
  • Eric explains why a mallet putter wouldn't have changed Tiger Woods' historic dominance because his ball striking was already otherworldly.
  • We uncover the truth behind mass-produced Scotty Cameron putters and why tour pros often play with painted shafts to match marketing campaigns.
  • Eric defends his hot take on why he refuses to go on a Bandon Dunes golf trip, while sharing an incredible story about his time at the historic Chicago Golf Club.
  • We announce live winners for two dozen TaylorMade TP5 golf balls alongside exclusive Trap Golf and Hitting Greens stickers.

Intro & Where Are Matt and Jeremy?

Aarik

What I don't even know why.

Joe

What is up, everybody? Dad is not home. Dad is not home. Dad is out there pulling potatoes out the ground in Idaho. Jeremy is uh across the Pacific Ocean. Uh and well, me and Dan are here, and we got a special guest tonight. He's been on the show before. Many times, many a times. Friend of the show. Numbers. Friend of the show. A couple times. Quite a few times. Yeah. And if you've if you've seen the shows, you know we can get on some rants. Which we love. We love them.

Aarik

We love it. I'm pretty so I'm pretty sober today, though, so it'll be all right.

Joe

Mr. Mr. Eric Greenley. Let's get a hand for Mr. Eric Greenley. The homie. Coming to you live from Dallas, Texas. Rocking the track off had too. How you doing, Eric?

Aarik

I am uh living the dream, man. Everything's lovely, everything's beautiful. It's about 9,000 outside. So is it hot down there? Uh yeah, it's usually about 85 at about 7 in the morning. And then I think today was 106. I think tomorrow's 112 or 14 or something.

Dan

That's more than it was here. Nice. Have you ever been cremated before?

Aarik

Because that's what it feels like. I'm apparently I'm learning.

Dan

That's what it's like.

Joe

Exactly. Thrust. Or do it out here in Vegas sometimes, it just feels like you're in front of a hair hair dryer. You know, just fucking blowing your face off. Okay. Damn, he's in already. He's already in. Should we just keep him there or what?

unknown

Yeah.

Joe

I mean, you guys heard him. You guys heard him. He said, I might jump in. I'm gonna listen for a little while. And then now he's flipping us off. Yeah. Dad's not home, but he's he's watching as always. Anyway, all you guys gotta do. Okay, we're gonna do a giveaway. Shout out Mr. Greenley, shout out Taylor Mane. Shout out Taylor Mane because Greenley's on the show. All right, we're gonna give away a few a couple dozen of TP5s. All you gotta do is leave a comment during the show and be here when we pull it, and then we'll bring in the company man in a second. But let's give Taylor Main a little, you know, a little spotlight because Greenley's in the house. Shout out Mr. Greenley. And we can thank you. I appreciate it. Well, because when he comes on, it's it's all it's all company, you know.

Aarik

And then uh, and then in the boxes, too, I will throw in a bunch of uh I got trap golf stickers, I got hit and green stickers, I got cheap daylight sticker. I'll throw those in the box for whoever wins it.

Joe

Awesome. Also, go listen to the last episode that Matt did with uh uh Muni, Municipal. It was a great I did listen. Yeah, Harry Arnett, listen to it. It was great. Turn your phone, Eric. Look at it, he's already in there. All right, turn to the thing.

Dan

What are you talking about? Yeah, he's saying he's saying go landscape or go vertical. All right, here he is. Dad's like that, yeah. What's up? Oh my gosh, Matt.

Matt

What are you doing, Matt? You know, spent the day on the lake and uh having some fun.

Dan

What was it like to look at all those beautiful golf courses and not play?

Matt

Yeah, it was not cool. It was not cool at all.

Joe

Is that better? Yeah, that's better, yeah. Mob better. Mobettas.

Matt

Yeah, it's uh beautiful. I mean, uh right now there's a lot of smoke, so it's uh a lot of smoke in the air, so you don't get the beautiful blue skies and the and the lake and the green, but uh it's still awesome to see beautiful country.

Dan

Those Canadian fires affecting Idaho too.

Matt

This is from Oregon. Oh, it's from Oregon. Oh yeah. There's some central Oregon fires going on. That like the air quality is terrible.

Joe

Smokey in the house. Let's go. Shout out, Smokey. Speaking of smoke, talking about smoke, shout out Smokey. Smoke dog in the house. Mr. Smoky Dokie. Shout out, Smokey Dokie.

Matt

I'm not gonna I'm not gonna hang out long. I'll let you guys have your fun. Uh just wanted to come on and say hi. Yeah, Miss Greenley. He never comes on when I'm around, so I'm not around. You know, Greenley, you know he's always down to come on. Oh, I know he's always down. He's always down. Absolutely. You know, play a little golf tomorrow. Place called uh Liberty Lake. We drove by it, looks great. Yeah, and then that place that I was at today that I showed you guys, that uh little nine-hole track. Um, we're gonna play that Thursday afternoon. So get some golf in.

Dan

How many days are you gonna be up there?

Matt

Uh we drive back to Boise on Saturday and then drive home Sunday. Sweet.

Dan

What up, T Dog?

Matt

What's up, T Wan?

Joe

Tracy in the house.

Dan

Making his nightly comment. There's Tuesday toast. Absolutely, yeah.

Joe

So it's the it's the Tuesday toast by Tracy. That's it.

Matt

Uh do we want to announce the biggest news of our lives or we want to wait for the show?

Joe

Well, you weren't in the pre-show. You weren't in the pre-show, we were gonna announce it. But all right, we're not gonna just announce it, we're gonna do it in a special way, and then we can dive into it more when everybody's back on the show. What up, Kyle? Um, so yeah. Should we? I mean, we can do it now, but I had a specific way I was gonna do it. Oh, how are you gonna do it? Well, I was gonna talk about free show, guys. I mean, who's here? Who wants to hear that? Is it's rejection letter season, guys. Who got a rejection letter today? Or in the past few days? You did? I did. I got one.

Aarik

Yeah, I got a rejection. I got I got one. Have you ever been in the masters, Eric? No, I've worked on tour, I cattied on tour. I've never even seen the parking lot. I've never seen the driveway, I've never seen Magnolia Lane.

Joe

We've never seen it. Wow. Well, it's rejection letter season. Anyone in the chat, have you guys has anybody ever been to the masters and who received the rejection letters? Let us know. Because one uh there's somebody that we know that did not receive a rejection letter this year.

Aarik

I expect the rejection letters, I don't even get excited anymore about it.

Dan

It's

Dan’s Massive 2027 Masters Ticket News

Dan

uh it was a little crazy this morning, but uh lovely. It says, Congratulations, your ticket application for the 2027 Masters Tournament has been selected, and your tickets are now available for purchase. Um that was gooses.

Aarik

That is legit.

Dan

That was insane. I I literally was just chilling in my chair like this, drinking my coffee this morning. Just boogers in the eye still, and all of a sudden I just see that and it says your your application was selected. I'm like I had to refocus. I'm like, what? And I opened it up and just could not believe it. So yeah, very, very lucky. Um, got selected for Wednesday. Um part three can be choosers, but we will be there for the part three contest and to check out the rest of the grounds. So jacked for that. Super big congrats. Super big congrats. That's a big deal. I honestly was like, I've I've done this for quite a few years now, and I've honestly told myself like last year, even the year before, I'm like, this this is a this is something I'll never go to unless I buy third-party tickets. Yeah, and um here we go. It's a moment, it's a moment.

Matt

I was you know I was proven so so Eric, I'm I'm driving. I'm in the middle of the mountains go into Oregon before you come down into the valley, and I'm driving, and my phone, my phone's going bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. And I'm like, what somebody's dead or or somebody's house is on fire. What is going on? And so we finally got I had to wait like 30 minutes.

Joe

So 3 a.m. in the Philippines or 1 a.m. in the Philippines.

Matt

Yeah, I mean, Jeremy's texting, Joe's texting in our text group, and I'm like, I'm like dying inside because I'm like I'm missing something important. What's going on? And so we finally hit what we finally hit a traffic jam, and I stop and I grab my phone and I went, oh, and gooseies, just gooy. And I'm like, and Erica's like, what? And I go, Dan got master's tickets. She's like, shut up.

Aarik

Yep.

Dan

Unbelievable.

Aarik

That's the best news I've heard all month.

Dan

Yeah, it's yeah, it was very welcome news, very welcome news. Oh, and we've just lost Eric. Oh, there we go.

Matt

Eric's like, the hell with it, I'm out.

Joe

That's like a 20 spot on keto.

Dan

Yeah, that that was yeah, yeah, that was nuts. And then also, too, like I was totally expecting like Monday or Tuesday.

Matt

And uh to get Wednesday is amazing.

Dan

To hope for any tournament day is awesome. But when it said Wednesday, I was like, oh dude, that's part three tournament. That's fucking sick.

Matt

And we can bring in a camera, and we can bring in a camera to take pictures.

Dan

I mean, that's just gonna be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. You can bring a camera, no cell phones, no other electronics, and then tournament time, you can't even bring any of that in.

Matt

It's it's it's well, Jeremy's normally on the screen, so it's it's he's here, he's here in spirit. Yes, absolutely.

Dan

Uh, I got four, Kyle. I scored four of them.

Joe

And we are doing a CDP trip. The practice rounds are four. You can get four for practice rounds. You can only get two for the tournament days, I'm pretty sure.

Dan

I think that's correct, yes. Where are you at, Lando?

Joe

Watching the piles on the West Coast. Oh, yeah, that's seven videos. That's not a good one. Greenly, you want to balance and come back in? I could I heard you. I heard him. He was moaning. Yeah. Um yeah, very excited. Very excited. Yeah.

Matt

I what were you what was your what were you gonna do, Joe?

Joe

I did you're gonna do it as well. I did what I was gonna do. I was that's I was gonna ask everybody, hey, it's rejection letter season. Eric, have you ever been in the masters? We did it just with you here. Gotcha.

Dan

So it wasn't it wasn't as special, but sorry, it was just a rolling, it was just a roll into the news.

Matt

Uh I've been la at SpaceX all week nice. Oh, nice.

Joe

Hey Lando, Lando, go to the Apple Pan. Go to the Apple Pan. Uh, if you don't know the Apple Pan, go to the Apple Pan. Dan, have you been have you been in the Apple Pan?

Dan

I've not been in the Apple Pan. I'm never even heard of Al pan. Go to the Apple Pan's the Apple Pan.

Joe

It's not necessarily LA, it's like a little south of uh Beverly Hills, but just throw it on the list of a thousand different spots to go. Palmetto. What up? What's up? What we just what we just said is we're going to the masters.

Dan

We're going to Georgia.

Matt

I I literally doing the dance. I'm like, yeah.

Joe

When I asked you guys earlier, and I said, I I just realized that I'll be able to wear masters gear in public. Uh for those that know my quirky ass, I I literally started teary eye.

Matt

I was like, damn, that's sick. That's Joe was crying. Katie's probably going, What's wrong?

Joe

No, I was by myself. I don't do it. I okay, I typically don't do it with other people around unless I'm hammered. So uh, but yeah, I was I was literally waiting in traffic and I was like, damn, how cool is that? I was like thinking about calling, calling uh you know, myself and all that cool shit.

Matt

So very excited. All right, Eric, thank you so much for hopping on with the fellas. Shout out Taylor Main. Thank you for thank you for giving shout out Taylor Maine. Thank you for giving us some donating some stuff for us to give away to our listeners. We love you, we appreciate you. Thank you so much. Everybody that's watching right now, if you have golf questions, how early do I kick them from this show?

Joe

That guy, guys. That guy knows he really knows his shit.

Matt

Yeah, I send him messages all the time asking questions because his golf brain is incredible. So we've got it, we've got a gem here for you. Soak it up, ask away. He loves telling you strict, straight answers like no, don't be stupid. It's amazing. Uh thanks everybody. I'm gonna I'm gonna pop out of here, let you guys have some fun. We're gonna go uh take a walk around the the the neighborhood and enjoy this. It's only no, we're in we're in Spokane right now. So we're in Quarterlane earlier, which hey, Quarterlane, pretty cute quaint town. Let's go pretty cool little quaint town.

Joe

So gems are a thing now, too. Stay hydrated, yes. Lando said stay hydrated. What's the gem shit now? What's gems?

Matt

I have no idea.

Joe

It's dude, it's a whole thing, like it's the interactions and even whatnot has changed now, and but whatever. It does it doesn't matter. Thank you, Lando. I know you did something that helps us, so I appreciate it. Appreciate it.

Matt

Thank you, thank you, thank you. All right, fellas, have fun. All right, we'll see you later. I'm gonna remove you before you say bye.

Joe

Say try to say good, and then and then I'll kick you before you say bye.

Matt

Good. Nice. Well well done.

Dan

Legend dick. Well done. That was great. It was awesome, though. Perfect, man.

Matt

See, I can hop right back in the dad's up.

Joe

All right, say your goodbye, say your goodbye, say goodbye. Peace.

Matt

Love you guys.

Joe

You can remember.

Dan

Later, buddy. Oh shit. You guys are the best. You want that was good. All right. Dad's up. Oh crap. Yeah, that was awesome.

Joe

Oh that was good.

Aarik

I can do this again since he's yeah, yeah.

Joe

Yeah.

Aarik

He's you know, he's so OCD. No, I can't hear anybody.

Joe

You can't hear all right.

Aarik

Oh, I can hear Dan. I can't hear Joe.

Joe

Yeah, you're gonna have to you're gonna have to bounce and come back again. Because they have to.

Aarik

When I went off and went back on, it sounded like chipmunks. But I literally can't hear Joe, but I can hear you, Dano.

Joe

Yeah, he's telling you that um you're gonna have to bounce. It happens when we have extra people on. Okay, I'll do it right now. One more time. Uhamas.

Dan

One more game.

Joe

What on well has changed, haven't been on in months. Yeah, yeah. I know, Kristen. It's it's very different. Very different.

Dan

I went on, I went on two days ago. He's still here. Uh no, he's still there.

Joe

You did went on two days ago?

Dan

I went on two days ago, and I hadn't been on in months. And I was popped on to Matt's show. And I won his I won one of his giveaways for a free gun battery.

unknown

Oh my gosh.

Dan

He didn't even know I was in the room, and all of a sudden he looks at it and sees that he sees who who the fuck is that guy and he goes, Dano! He goes, What the hell, bro? He goes, How the hell did you get into my show and didn't even say anything?

Joe

It's absolutely insane. So I was gonna also have I was gonna have the homie J Mac on tonight. Um uh because he just did some crazy shit. But okay, there we are.

Aarik

There we are, there we are. Can you hear me now? Yeah, can you hear me? Can you hear Joe? Holy smokes, I can't hear anything.

Joe

Oh my gosh. Are you guys messing with it? You I don't you didn't leave the studio. No, you didn't leave the studio though. Leave the studio and come back. I can't hear any of us.

Dan

Can you hear me? Yeah, he's gonna just I'm gonna kick him.

Joe

But yeah, so yeah, whatnot's changed. So like the whole update is like you now you gotta if you watch for 10 minutes, you get rewards and shit, and like it's just it's super TikTok-y.

Dan

I'm gonna call yeah. I uh I I like I said I just watch Matt's show and then I bounce around a few other rooms people I people I memory remembered with.

Joe

And it was yo, just just for the end of the show, hit the red button and then come back. I think because you were still in the show before you came back. So hit the red button and log like.

Aarik

Okay, gotcha.

Joe

Yeah, gotcha. Later.

Aarik

Okay, bye.

Joe

Bye. Uh yeah, it's so different, dude. And there's so many motherfuckers on there now, too, man.

Dan

Dude, I seen I seen guys today selling one golf ball at a time.

Joe

Were they Scotty golf balls?

Dan

No, just selling vice balls and shit. And then this guy goes, You want to see a $700 golf ball? And then gives and then shows like this orange vice ball that's like pre-vice, and then he finds another shot. There's a green one, it says it's worth $1,200. I was like, I I gotta go. I close the app. I go, This is you're smoking crack on this app now.

Joe

Dude, that's the thing, bro. Like, you're you're talking to people that will just lie straight to your face. Can you hear us? Yeah, I can hear it. There we go. Yeah, there we go. People just lie straight out their teeth. Brought that out. I mean, Greenlee pops on occasionally on whatnot. It's just people just be lying to you. Tour issue uh or whatever they want to say. It's scam. Absolutely, absolutely. And you know, I don't say this on my whatnot shows, but hey, I support there's people I support, and I jump in and I'll you know, I'll welcome other people, but it's just dude. It's awful. It's pr it's pretty bad. It is, yeah. It's all right.

Aarik Greenley Joins & Current Golf Gear Updates

Joe

What do we got? What do we got, Eric? How you how you living? What's new with you? Are you playing golf? When's the last time you played golf? How long's it been?

Aarik

Uh you still playing for Tailor Made? Yeah, I've been playing every Thursday, and I have actually got a new driver head. Speaking of Tor issue, I have a new Tour issue QI4D core head. And I have they make a P8 C B that's only made in Japan. So that iron is on the way.

Dan

Japan has always they always have the best shit.

Aarik

Correct. Oh gosh, the shapes are better, the forging is better, the feelings better, the quality's better, everything's better.

Joe

It's the attention to detail. It's like it's like if you go to a nice restaurant and they're like when they use that little scooper to take the breadcrumbs off the table, like that's that's Japan irons, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.

Dan

Like the crumbs, I mean they're annoying, but dude, the fans, the fans were cleany boys, the stadium after the after their soccer matches in the World Cup. Yeah, yes, they were. That's crazy. That's just how it is there. Like Japan don't fuck around, like they're just thoughtful because they're they take pride in everything they do.

Aarik

Yeah, absolutely. They take pride. So, yeah, that's all I've been doing, man. Playing golf.

Dan

And um you're playing golf.

Aarik

Kind of crazy that you're just playing golf. I play every week now.

Dan

Are you like in a league or something?

Aarik

No, I'm not in a league. Don't be mean.

Dan

I was just gonna say, you said every Thursday.

Aarik

No, it's just because it's my day off. And I don't like asking for fry favors on private courses on Sundays. That's a no-no. So um, yeah, play Thursdays, beat it around, have some fun, and um we leave for Pittsburgh on Thursday. Go watch some baseball. We're gonna do eat some food.

Joe

Yeah, gonna go play Philly cricket or something. Like, what's going on? Are you playing golf? Are you gonna be there on a Thursday?

Aarik

You're gonna play golf or what? No, we're gonna go watch uh Pirates' Cubs at PC.

Dan

Are you a Pittsburgh fan or just decided to go there?

Aarik

Uh Shirley's birthday.

Dan

Oh happy birthday, Shirley. Yeah, happy birthday, Shirley.

Aarik

So go hang out for a few days and come back.

Dan

I hear Pittsburgh's a pretty cool town.

Aarik

We'll find out. I don't know.

Dan

I've been to Philly and I can say the exact opposite of Philly. No offense to Philly people, that place sucks.

Joe

I've never been, I only time I've ever been to Philly was I had a layover, like a two and a half hour layover. And uh, and I was like, I was texting my buddy uh DJ Zoe, and he he was like, You gotta you gotta get in a taxi and go get a Philly, like a real Philly. I was like, Fuck, dude, do I really do that? Spent about a hundred dollars, like 40 each way, Uber. I got a Philly, but I haven't experienced much of Philly yet. But I do know that there's incredible golf around there. And I have eight at uh Permanni Brothers, the Florida location. So if you're going to if you're going to Pittsburgh, go try, go try Permanni Brothers.

Aarik

So the OG I could walk to from the hotel. There you go, see.

Dan

There you go.

Aarik

So all my buddies from Pittsburgh, I've already asked them the question.

Joe

It is kind of mid, but you gotta do it, Palmetto. Palmetto says it's mid, but you gotta do it. If you're gonna do it, you gotta doze it. Fucking black hole over here.

Aarik

That's so weird when you guys sound like the Alvin and Chipmunk.

Dan

That's crazy.

Joe

Guys, also we're gonna give away two dozen Taylor-made TP5 golf balls. We might do two for somebody, or we might be doing one for two. So all you gotta do is leave a comment. I would I would imagine that Paul Meadows commenting and he might be in the running right now, but I did pull up the giveaway tool tonight. If you guys know we got 12 entries currently, so you got a one in twelve or two in twelve shot to win a free dozen um from the homie Greenley.

Dan

If he ever pops back in.

Joe

Yeah.

Dan

What's going on with you? When's the last time you played? Shit. Weeks ago. Yeah, I've been working in the summer league, man. I've I've had July 4th off, and then I have July 31st off. Those are my only days off this month. Yeah, that's crazy. That's insane.

Aarik

So you guys literally start sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Let's go John Warfare. And then I just have to start over. John Warf.

Dan

Yeah, we caught we we heard you say that before you got before you got into that.

Joe

These guys are sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Speaking of Alvin and the Chipmunks, we meet me and Katie had a little staycation downtown circa. If you're local to Las Vegas, $400, $100 food credit, $100 beverage credit. I mean you're a day bet at Stadium Swim. If you know, you know. But we left downtown. It was a great deal. Great deal if you're local. Um, but we went to Early Birds on Blue Diamond, which is close to you, Dan, and they were playing just like straight up old cartoons and Gangstar.

Dan

Really? Gangstar came on, yeah.

Joe

Yes, Gangstar, full clip, like Keith Murray, fucking like just old hip-hop shit and like old ass cartoons, Doug, Alvin and the Chipmunks. Like it was it was interesting.

Dan

Somebody had their personal playlist on the radio. Good for them, though.

Aarik

Good for them. Way to do it to do it, we didn't do it.

Dan

Oh, yeah, dude.

Aarik

Uh, speaking of, so Sunday we went to it's called I assume they're everywhere, it's called Candlelight Concert or something, and it's like the fake candles that all the candles wave, and it's four people on a stage. The only lighting is the candles. It was two violinists, a cellist, and a viola, and it was nothing but 90s hip hop. Oh, that's sick, dude.

Dan

That rolled through that rolled through Vegas last year. I was yeah, I wanted to go, but I completely forgot about it.

Aarik

Dude, they did they did Tupac, they did Biggie, they did Wu Tang, they did Missy Elliott, they did Outcast. I mean, like it was the best hour ever.

Joe

Yeah, that's true. Dude, like when they did I mean, if you if you're a Jay Dilla fan, like when they did their it's I have the vinyl somewhere, it's a concerto to Ma Duke's, and they just played Dilla shit, just straight orchestra. No candles on that one, but yeah, yeah, just it sounds so dope, dude. That I mean, damn, this is gonna turn into a hip hop.

Dan

It is, it is it totally.

Joe

But I mean that's worse than playlist on the on the golf course for sure. But absolutely so sick, dude.

Aarik

Tugs at the heartstrings, there's so many bangers to hear like high-pitched violin notes for like the intro to Wu Tang songs. I was like, Oh, yeah.

Joe

Yeah, there's there's a there's a Jade one where it's like dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. Yeah, okay, I'll stop, but it sounds so great with the orchestra.

Aarik

I have a circa question for you. Because last time I was in circa, I don't really I say I was in circa, I barely remember. I just remember the the lady, the light up Debbie lady, whatever the hell her name is. Yeah, Vicky Vegas, Vicky, Vicky Vegas, Vegas, Vicky Vegas. Um, so I'm supposed to we're gonna when we're there, we're gonna be at Legacy Club.

Joe

Like, how's that? We went up there, and there was a dude, which is crazy because this happened Sunday night. We went up to the legacy club, very cool. Okay, um, but we were taking a picture, and Katie asked uh this dude to take a picture, and he had a fucking A and G C and I was like, bro, A and G C that's members logo. Are you a member there? He's like, No, I got this from Berkman's, and this is the night before, this is like 12 hours before Dan sent us that text, which is kind of serendipitous. Yep, yeah, and he was like, I was like, uh, are you a member there? He's like, No, no. I was like, Uh that well, you got it from Berkman's then, right? And he's like, Yeah, yeah. I'm surprised you know that. I mean, he took our picture and everything, but surprised you know that. Yeah, he was in he was impressed, but anyway, it's cool, it's it's very cool. Yeah, yeah. He he doesn't, I'm incognito, I'm a ninja out there, you know what I mean. That I was probably wearing a high-row shirt or something, you know, who knows. Um, but yeah, it's it was interesting, and I just thought about that today when just a little serendipity, but um, it's cool. Legacy club's pretty cool.

Aarik

I don't think there's any club cover, but Circa is also pretty Vegas priced, so it's a little more expensive, but because it's very that's out of my like comfort zone. Like, we don't like I go hang out with you guys, like we go to freaking Santa Fe Station, like you know what I mean. Like we don't do any of that stuff, so local special.

Joe

If you come to yeah, if you come to Vegas, you gotta go, dude. There were we got we went to Berry's, which was fantastic at Circa, but uh I've never been in there, yeah. It was it's great, great, great food, but $75 for filet. Yeah, I could probably buy four of those, cook them myself, like almost as good. Uh, but we had the hundred dollar food credit, so we lived it up for a million dollars. Oh, beautiful. You live you go live your life. You go to the yeah, yeah, you you go to the local spots, it's 40 bucks, you know. 45 like it's not even that at Oscars.

Dan

Yeah, Oscar's little marriage maintenance, that's what you call that. You take the credit and you spend a little maintenance.

Joe

I will say though, they they are cooking their steaks on open flames. Yeah, yeah. You and the the French onion soup. Very, very good, very, very good. We're connoisseurs of French onion soup, if you know. Is it one of those?

Aarik

Somebody there who has a French onion steak. Oh, they like like they smother it. Like they do a French onions, basically a French onion smothered steak with like the cheese that's still like crust over top. That's it's somewhere, it's somewhere in the city. I just can't remember where it is.

Dan

Oh, it smokes. We are now this, and you guys listen to Fake House and Hip Hop podcast.

Joe

Yeah, yeah. It's a Vegas and hip hop podcast right now.

Dan

It's the food music episode.

Joe

This is what happened with dad is not home. He tried to get it back, get it back on track. Ask me a golf question, guys. We're we're guys, please help us out. Anybody in the comments, if you have any golf questions, guys, that like Matt said when he signed off. Oh crap, Mr. AA Rick is uh very certified in the game of golf, he knows a shit. Uh, and we if you guys want to hear his story, just put story in the chat, maybe he'll tell it to you. But we are also gonna give away uh brand new, bring newie, brand new Taylor made TB5s. Uh two dozen tonight. We might give it to one person, we might give one dozen to two people, but courtesy of Mr. Greenley himself. Shout out Taylor made story, Palmetto said story. Let's get two more stories in the chat. And and I I mean, I know of you I know a little bit about your story. I don't know the full story though. So I'll put it, I'll put a story in the chat. Here, I'm gonna, yeah. Oh, because I can't see what you guys see. Oh, yeah, yeah.

Dan

Oh, you can't see the chat.

Joe

I can see the chat. So we got two stories. Oh, we got we got three stories. Okay, what's your story, Greenley? What is your story? Yeah, let's hear your story. Write your book right now. Pull out your change. I have to change somebody names, otherwise, I get sued. I also did get compare the TP5X versus Chrome Tours. You can do that first and then tell the story.

Aarik

Okay, so TP5X versus Chrome Tour.

Joe

Mikey B in the house. Mikey B's in the house. Let's go.

Aarik

So TP5X Chrome Tour. So Chrome Tour is going to feel softer. Um, probably launch a touch higher. Chrome tour is gonna feel better versus TP5X Chrome Tour is gonna feel better, just what it is. TP5X is gonna feel firmer, it's gonna come out a touch flatter. It's still kind of spinny, but I would say it's a flatter launching Pro V1X. If that's kind of fair to say, but if you're a feel guy, I think the Chrome Tor will feel better, it'll feel softer.

Joe

Makes total sense, yeah.

Aarik

If that's an acceptable answer, which I don't really care if it is or not, but because you can't yeah, you know, it is what it is.

Dan

It absolutely is what it is.

Joe

I don't have any reason to lie to anybody, so yeah, no, and you you don't care either way. No, I don't what's your what's okay? So, what what's your story? I don't know what that means.

Aarik’s Origin Story: Skateboarder to Tour Club Builder

Joe

That means like how did you get into golf? Like, oh, okay, okay. Where have you been? Where have you been? Where are you going? What do you do now? How are you a golfer? Like, why do you like golf? Anything like that. Tell your story, dog. Um, we're I know we're not at uh barcode currently, but you know, it's just imagine we are.

Aarik

Well, that's gonna make me cry. Um, but so my meal ticket was skateboarding. I was sponsored at 18. Anyone who knows what Zoomies is now used to be a place called Fast Forward. Yeah, shout out skateboarding dog. I I yeah, I quit because I'm smart. So I was playing baseball. I see, I did not know that. I did not know you were a skateboarder. I didn't know you were sponsored, dude. I was sponsored before I was 18.

Joe

Bro, I grew up skateboarding. I skateboarded 10 hours every day. I used to hang pros and like, but the but this is also goes into like a lot of the things that are on social media now, too. Is like golf is the new skateboarding, yeah. Which I didn't know you, I didn't know you. That's that's that's cool. See, I'm learning too.

Aarik

So you know Josh Cal who Josh Calis is?

Joe

Yeah, of course.

Aarik

So he lived in Dallas. That's why skateboard, that's why skateboarding.

Joe

He lived in Dallas. Yeah, see, I was friends with a lot of the baker baker guys, which is a little past the alien workshop days, but yeah, yeah, those those were the homies, as you would say. Here's tier pivot. Where did the not my problem come from? Oh, it's just me. I just don't care. He just tier pivot. I think you're new, I think you're new to the show tonight, but Greenley just he lives his life and he doesn't worry about other people's opinions. That's where it comes from.

Aarik

I'm very black and white. I tell the truth, I'm very black and white. That's where that comes from. I'm not here to offend anybody, it just is what it is. And yeah, you like me or you don't, and that's okay. I'm not mad at you. Like just okay.

Joe

He's he's he's living in his skin. He's living in his skin, and that's great. A lot of a lot more people should do that. But anyway, I can continue.

Aarik

Yeah, so after that, I was still uh well during that I was still playing baseball, and I got to a level where baseballs looked like they fell off of tables, and I'd have figured I'd learn something else to do. One of the guys I grew up with, his grandfather actually owned five uh retail golf shops in DFW, and I just asked him if his grandfather would hire me, and I knew nothing about golf whatsoever. What age are you at this point? I was 21. I was 21. And learned about golf clubs, how they're made, how to build them, how to put grips on. Um, there's a guy locally who showed me how to build clubs, repair clubs. I worked for him for probably a year or two. He opened a second location that I ran. I had it for a year or two. I'm sorry, I ran it for him for a year or two. He didn't want it anymore. I took it over, and then literally one day, randomly, I got a phone call asking if I wanted to build golf clubs in a tour department for tour clubs.

Dan

Yeah, yeah.

Aarik

And I remember going like, huh? What? And she has this number. And I remember I remember her going this random phone call, right? And I'm like, yes. And then a week later, I was working in a tour department, learning how to build golf clubs for tour players. So from the start of golf, that was 2000 when I was 21. I was that was in 2001. Yeah, 2001, and I started working on the tour in 2008. Yeah, so and then by 2010, by 2011, I was running four tours. I was running LPGA, Cornberry, PJ Tour, Canada, PJ Tour, Latin America. So I fit it, I built it, I made sure you got paid for your contract or didn't get paid if you didn't use your product. That's what I did. And then that was up until the end of 2013. And then I started cading on tour in 2015, and then I was done with that December of 23. But a couple things here, there. Opened up a shop here, open up a shop there for PXG and other brands or whatever. But yeah, that's that's it. Just I'm the most non-random random person ever.

Joe

He is, I mean, you were, I mean, you don't know I'm kind of nonchalant about it. Like, I know about it. But that's just who you are. That's who you are, though. That's just yeah, yeah, it's not my not my problem syndrome, you know.

Aarik

Yeah, I don't feel like I'm important. I don't think I'm more important. I don't think I'm smarter than anybody. Like, even like technically, I guess I've done it to the peak of the mountain. I still I'm still learning. I don't think I know everything, I'm still figuring stuff out, I'm still adjusting, still learning how everybody's different. So, like I you could say I'm whatever, but I just think I'm still learning and still understanding.

Joe

I mean, everyone is, honestly. I mean that they don't act like it though, and I let them know. Yeah, it's true, exactly. And that's that's the that's the not my problem kind of thing coming through right there, you know what I mean. Uh Tear Pivot said, Who is the most famous golfer that you have played a round of golf with? Played with, yeah, played a round of golf with. For me, it's Harry Hall. Harry Hall, that was fucking a shit ton of fun, dude.

Dan

Yeah, Dano. Um, well, I don't know if you want to say played golf with. He was two groups ahead of me. We're playing in the same tournament, uh, but that was Tiger Woods. Um, but um the famous, the most famous golfer I've played with is probably Adam Scott, but I only played with Adam Scott for six holes.

Joe

Yeah, no, that makes sense. You played golf with them, yeah. Played around the golf. I mean, six, yeah.

Aarik

So it's funny, like, I've never really played golf with any of the guys that I you know, like that I hung out. Started playing golf again recently. Whatever, dude. I play golf all the time. But it's like, I mean, I played golf, I play golf a lot with like Joseph Ramlett, or like like Nota Big Gay lives they l Nota big gay is still a member at just got the Payne Stewart Award.

Joe

Let's go.

Aarik

But like like Jason Kidd is not a golfer, but yeah, like respectfully, he's probably more famous than all those guys. Like, yeah, you know what I mean? Like, it's a weird yeah. I'm in the great area.

Joe

Yeah, I'm in the great, I'm in the matrix. I I I I think we can go into some really interesting things with this.

The Reality of Tour Issue vs. Retail Golf Clubs

Joe

How different are that? All right. I've been saying this, so if I mean, I know Greenley, you watch my whatnot shows, and I always talk about the painted fucking shit, but here you go. How different are actual club brands to brand, similar or way different? I think what Paul Meadows trying to get at is like how different is off the rack compared to tour issued. Okay, that was gonna be my question.

Aarik

Um I think it depends. I think it depends on the brand. Um, saying like a like a QI4D core head is pretty well, we'll call that the standard. We'll say it's decent, but the Tor issue head, like the one that I have, because I played that head for since it came out, like, and I got this Tor head two weeks ago. It's significantly different. It sounds different, it sits on the ground different, the lie angle is flatter, the ball speed's different. Because I play the same golf course every week, and I've been in I was in spots Thursday, I've never been. Yeah, like it's it's there, it's faster. I mean, but you get random prototypes like what Bryson's hitting. So Bryson living here before they made him the proto head, when he was testing the Tor version of the QI4D, he picked up six miles an hour ball speed over his crank on average. Yeah, right. So it's like in a retail manner, nothing is faster than a callaway driver or a tailor driver, it's just what it is. Yeah, at a Tor level, it's almost backwards, nothing's faster than a tireless driver or a ping driver.

Joe

Well, so also at that point, right? They're fitted to the T, like they're fitted to the T, and everything is, you know, the you know, dialed in, and they're better players, of course. So I mean, tireless makes I mean, in my opinion, smaller heads, but it's so would you say it's like a you have to be fitted like to a T and that will help your game the best, or you can't fit amateurs to a T because they're not that good, right?

Aarik

They're not consistent, is what you're saying. That's just factual. Like, yeah, dealing with yeah, even like even like Joseph, like, and I pick on Joseph Bramlett a lot because he's on tour and he bounces back between the tours and he's not winning or doing whatever, but like he will beat the brakes off of basically everybody on earth except for 200 people, right?

Joe

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Aarik

But that's how consistent, that's how good they are. Like, that's like you know, that's Steph Curry, right? Yeah, he knows when the rim is the wrong height, then he had it fixed.

Dan

Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Aarik

The guy who shoots 85 is a really, really damn good golfer, but he's not that good.

Joe

Mike B. Curry. Yeah, I mean, I shoot I shoot 84, so I'm a damn good golfer. You know what I'm saying?

Aarik

No, like seriously, you beat you beat three quarters of the earth, if not more. No, I know that. I understand that.

Joe

I mean, people don't understand how like minimal of a percentage of the one percent of tour players that are on tour all the time, like how like fraction of a percent of the golfers in the world.

Aarik

Yeah, you know what I mean. Like we always explained it as the PGA tour. Within the PGA tour, you have three tours. You have the people you see all the time. You then if you cut them in thirds, basically, the next the second third, some of them kind of peek every now and then, but they're you kind of hear the name, and then the bottom third randomly hear from them, but they're always seem to be making cuts and always seem to be making money.

Joe

Yeah, you don't want to see them in a money game at your club, you don't want to see those guys that are money games. Because they will take your house. Absolutely.

Aarik

But the well, you can't win and you can't do this, and you can't ball, yeah. You have no idea how good they are.

Joe

Yeah, yeah. You really don't. I mean, that says something for like, I mean, Scotty, generational run. I mean, not I mean tiger, but yeah, I mean, those guys, those those names that you see on that leaderboard that are there every single week. I mean, like they're cream of the crop. Yeah, they're not normal human beings, they're Franklin's barbecue,

Would a Mallet Putter Have Helped Tiger Woods Win More?

Joe

you know.

Dan

Yeah, Joe, were you were you ever watching Tiger? Did you did you watch like 2000 Tiger?

Joe

I watched a little bit. My dad was a golfer, of course. I mean, I know I watched a little bit as a kid, but no, I'm it's it's mostly I don't remember it, it's mostly highlights for me, but um I mean I saw a clip the other day, and I would I would love your guys' take on this because you know guys, you know, I'm not a huge mallet fan. Um but I saw a clip where it's like uh if tiger had a mallet back then when he was running, like he probably would have won more because everybody is better with the mallet in their hand. And I mean, I I I'm sure I'm probably better with the mallet in my hand, but I don't like looking down at a mallet, especially I don't like looking at a mallet in my bag because I don't like mallet. Covers. Um, but do you I mean, do you think if if Tiger had a mallet back then? I mean, he went on a run, right? But there was there was a few losses here and there. Like if he had a mallet in his bag, do you think he would have won a couple more?

Dan

Uh I'm gonna say no, only because this is not me, Greenley.

Joe

Chill, bro. I saw this, all right. I'm just I saw I saw a video. Sue me, Derek.

Dan

I'm gonna say no only because Tiger arguably is the greatest, second greatest, whoever whatever your argument is. Golfer, probably the most dominant golfer that we ever watched, and he didn't do shit with a mallet. Everything he won, everything he did, all the records he set, all the ass whoopings he gave out was with the elder one. I mean that sweet spot. I don't think necessarily it would have turned into more wins. Maybe he might have made an extra putt or two or something missed a short one, you know, might have made a miss shorty, but I don't think it would have changed his career in any way, shape, or form. Um tiger.

Joe

Later in his career, maybe.

Dan

Well, he did go to a tailor made mallet for a little bit when he was searching. He had that Ardmore putter. But a golfer like Tiger, he a golfer like Tiger in a mallet is just it's not gonna matter.

Joe

It doesn't matter when you're when you're that good. I don't think so either. That guy I just saw a video and the guy asked, and I'm like, there's that guy was hitting the sweet spot of that putter. Yeah, in the sweet spot with him.

Aarik

I need to pour a drink.

Dan

The the floor is yours, sir.

Aarik

No, it just I mean, it's some random number that obviously none of us remember, but you know, it was whatever, you know, 1200 putts from whatever, and three inside of three feet, he missed two in freaking 97 years.

Joe

Like, yeah, yeah.

Aarik

If if if were Tiger needed help, if he needed any help whatsoever, he would have benefited from an easier-to-hit driver. Because yeah, steel shaft th was it well say steel shaft, we'll call it like 350 to 400cc head back then, or even a 975 D, which was 300cc or smaller. Yeah, it's like which is what a hundred. We'll just we'll we'll move them up to the year 2000, where a steel shaft is ball speeds 185 or six. So you give him something easier to hit that doesn't spin as much with a golf ball that doesn't spin as much. Those fairways that he missed or the stuff that he pumps OB doesn't happen. The putter is the least worried for Tiger Woods. Like that's that's that's irrelevant. Yeah, like that stuff's irrelevant. And like me dealing with these people all day who want lab putters and whatever, like there's nothing wrong with a lab putter. There's no, there's not. In my opinion, there's not yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. There's nothing wrong with an on-center camera. There's nothing wrong with a I don't I don't give a damn. Yeah, if you can't putt, you can't put. If you don't put the work into practice and work on your stroke, you're not gonna make anything. Like that's true, it's just it's just what it is, right? Like, tiger doesn't need help putting, he's not gonna win five more majors because he has a mallet. Like, respectfully, it's retarded.

Joe

So put put Tiger in current day driver in his run just wins everything, probably, right? As far as ball speed-wise, or as far as accuracy, no, just like current day drivers, more forgiving.

Aarik

Give me if his ball speed, his ball speed was like 185 and like 2000. So with a current day driver, what would it be 200? I don't mean yeah, that's that's that's easily that's easily faster than Bryson, believe it or not.

Joe

Yeah, yeah, that fool was whipping around. I I'm I'm sad I didn't grow up in that area. I mean, I saw it, but man.

Aarik

And I was like, it's not like I know Tiger Woods, I don't, but I only got to be as close to him on the range in the golf courses because of Nota. Yeah, so like seeing that up close and personal, and like obviously it they're all really good at golf, but like Tiger Woods is legit, like he's an alien. Yeah, like the the first time I got to be close to him was the PGA and Apadina. He was playing with uh Thomas Biorn and Richard Green had just won in Europe, and they're playing practice round and screwing around, and then whatever Tiger switched on, he made those two dudes look like he was playing with us three. Like he's hitting he's hitting fairway woods out of rough where you can't see the golf ball to the sky 250 yards, and it's sitting down like a nine-iron. Like it just this he's he's not a normal person.

Joe

It's like Kobe Jordan vibes, like you know, just like they're freaks of nature, yeah.

Aarik

They don't they don't count. Yeah, yeah. Well, what about this? And what about Tiger? And what about Cob dude? Stop. Don't find somebody else to compare him to, they don't count.

Joe

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Super interesting. Yeah, I would have loved it. I would have loved to watch it. I mean, I mean, if he wasn't, you know, issues with the body and everything, like he would have he would have kept going, man.

Aarik

Yeah, well, somebody asked me like a couple days ago. They were like, You think tiger can come back? You think tiger? I'm like, champion store, bro. He's gonna be in a golf cart. Like Tiger Woods hitting a golf ball is not a problem. Yeah, Tiger Woods walking a golf course is a problem.

Dan

His body is a problem.

Aarik

Yeah, but you put him in a golf cart, he's gonna smoke you. Yeah. Because he wants the uh he wants to see your US Open. So he'll have he will that means he'll own every USGA trophy. Yeah, that'd be sick.

Joe

And also, I mean, Charlie ain't nothing to fuck with right now. I saw that custom that that Scotty Cameron. So sick.

Aarik

Sick. Yeah, cleany boys. Speaking of, uh, I only have to play 13 clubs tailor made. I got a ping putter made today. It's in the works.

Dan

Oh, you got a ping.

Joe

Oh, well, you've been in the gold vault. Is this gold? Dude, I showed you that picture.

Aarik

Everybody thinks I'm photoshopped.

Joe

No, you're not. I know. Well, they're lying.

Aarik

It looks like it's it looks like it's photoshopped though.

Joe

Yeah. One day. One day, hopefully. So you're your 13 club deal for Taylor Maid? And then you got a ping putter. Uh, right now I have a tour rat.

unknown

Oh. Oh.

Joe

Thank you. Thank you. This is Eric Shaw. I'll see you guys later. Thank you.

Dan

Right now I have a what the uh people call a tour rat.

Joe

It's

Ryan Fox's Win & Playing Fast on Tour

Joe

a little rat.

Dan

Speaking of tour rats, how are you feeling about Ryan Fox winning?

Aarik

Oh, best thing ever. You don't have to take four days to hit a golf shot to win a major.

Dan

I loved it. I was I was pulling for Cam Young though, only because I do like Cam Young. Fair. Cam Young will get his majors. He'll get his majors. I'm not sure Ryan Fox will have another one in him, but he played great, burning four of the last six. Yep. Um, just a journeyman, a grinder. Um, he played great, man. He deserved it. I loved it.

Aarik

Uh I think it's the greatest thing. That's so great to see him win.

Joe

Yeah. Bro, the him on the 18th hole where he's just like just fucking ready. I loved that shit. He's like, and I saw a clip on uh on Instagram where it's like seven seconds to hit a ball, dude. You know, like that's all you pick your club, fucking choose and hit it. And that I love it.

Aarik

That's that's his press conference, right? Like, I don't see he goes, I don't see why it's so hard. Like you have a number, you pick a club and you hit it. I was like, yeah. We like me and that guy might be related.

Dan

Yeah, exactly. It's not wrong though. You just you just gotta you just gotta simplify it sometimes, you know. I think a lot of times these guys just overthink, overthink too much, and just you know, they get inside their head for too long, for too much, for for no reason. Yeah, just like how many how many pitching wedges have you hit 142 yards in your life? Well, guess what? This is number 3,962 of those shots. Let's do it again. You know, let's not spend five minutes over it, you know. Yeah, correct. But I'm not paying for millions of dollars, so it's easy for me to say.

Aarik

Yeah, but that doesn't mean you're wrong about what you said.

Dan

Oh, I know I'm not wrong about it. Yeah, yeah, correct. Yeah, well, it's like a lie.

Joe

Not my problem. Not my fucking problem. Yeah, not my problem. Well, it's honestly it's what's the lie, what's the wind, how far is it, what's the conditions? Yeah, you probably got two, you got two options, probably. Fucking pick one and go for it.

Aarik

Yeah, yeah, no, like my uh my buddy here, he's not listening, but TK Kim played the US Open. And before he came in, we're working on lies and all this stuff, and it's like we're talking about spin rates and they're going to Colorado, and it's like, dude, like when's the last time you hit a stock bitching witch? Like honestly, anybody on earth when you're not standing on the driving range. Yeah and he was like, Yeah, no, like you, that's why we have to figure stuff out. But when you've done it, like you said, 4,000 times, you already have it figured out, man. Probably more, probably more. Be an athlete, yeah. Just be an athlete and react. It's not that big a deal. You've already done it.

Joe

So feel, so feel is more is pretty important, is what you're saying.

Aarik

If you're good at golf, yeah. If you're good, feel is real.

Dan

That's true. Uh do y'all think the tour will ever let them use range finders? I don't think so.

Joe

They do in some events, don't they? They do in what is it, WGCs or is it's probably not WGCs. It's uh I can't remember. They do let them use the President's Cup. Is it President's Cup?

Aarik

I think anyway I don't need to pull it up. It's not gonna be a sticker.

Joe

No, no shot. They're gonna say that takes away from the caddy, too. Well, that takes away from the caddy as well. The caddy does the work prior as well.

Aarik

You're still gonna find something wrong with it, dude. Like, I've been able to have to walk it off or use them. What's that bunker? Okay, it's this. What's the flag? What's this? Do the math in between. Okay, it's this. Hey, what's that hill over there? Like, it's still the same nine questions, depending on who your player is. So it makes it go two seconds faster, maybe. But I'm curious, they're still gonna stand with a golf ball for an hour.

Dan

I'm curious to know what that what that difference would be if a pro were to go out with a caddy with no rangefinder and time his round and then go out with a rangefinder and just see what the time difference is. Because if it's significant to where it's like a minute a whole, you know, 20 minutes, 20 minutes is a significant change. If you know if we're talking five-hour rounds, 440 rounds to 420 to 4.5 hour rounds. But if it's a matter of three to six to seven minutes, then what you know, yeah.

Aarik

And I could say like I was on the opposite side because the two guys I carried for, it didn't matter what I did, I couldn't do it fast enough. Like they were they're so Ryan Fox. Yeah, so I've I've never carried on the other side of it, so I can't speak to a Patrick Catley. Like, I don't I don't know. Oh, that fucker, dude.

Dan

Show his favorite coffee.

Joe

Well, that's why I said Patrick Canley. I mean, come on, pick a line and stop fucking stepping 14,000 times. Like you're just beating the green up for the players behind you as well.

Aarik

So they did you they put the clock, they did the clock for uh Fox and Catley. I watched it today of hitting an iron shot.

Dan

Also Ryan Harman, too.

Aarik

It was 30 31 seconds difference between Ryan Fox hitting like impact and cantling.

Dan

And I bet you Cantley was over the ball for those 30 seconds, too. He wasn't like just sitting back or getting inches, he's sitting there doing his little foot pat.

Joe

Yeah, correct. Guaranteed. Hey, you gotta run Rolex, you gotta run Rolex ads at some point, you know what I mean? Gotcha. Oh, this guy. Look at this guy. Jesus. Not not my problem, not my problem.

Dan

It came in uh came in the tour wrap box.

Aarik

Oh, you guys. Oh, but yes, I'm sorry, Joe. Back to Brian Harmon. Brian Harman loves him some Brian Harmon.

Dan

Oh, I love me some me, baby.

Joe

Yeah, hey, it's he's a he's a dog player, he's a go dogs guy. Uh, I mean, honestly, like I was happy to see him win the open when he won the his open, but dude, that on the 18th, come on, dude, chill. It was like two minutes. Yeah. Like, pick the shot and just fucking play it, dude.

The Bryson DeChambeau US Open Grass Stomp Debate

Dan

What do we think about Bryson? Intentional. Do we think that was intentional or shout out beds?

Joe

Shout out beds in the house.

Dan

Oh, shout out beds.

Joe

Dude, I wore the shorts this weekend. Killer. Shout out Travis Matthews, shout out beds. Look at this guy. There's there's look at his package. So, guys, if you did not know, we're gonna give away, we're gonna give away two dozen brand newy, bring newy, brand newy, tailor-made TB5 balls, courtesy of Mr. Greenley himself. All you gotta do is leave a comment, be here when we pull the giveaway. Uh, we got how many giveaways, how many entries we got? We got 17 entries. So if you guys can vote, do we give two dozen to one person or do we give one dozen to one and another dozen to another person?

Aarik

I was scared to uh put it on. Shout out to Taylor Made.

Joe

This is now a Taylor Made sponsored podcast.

Aarik

Well, Taylor Made sponsored Trap Golf and Hidden Greens.

Dan

Yeah, look at that. It's a collab it's a collab. We got one vote for split then.

Joe

I take care of everybody.

Aarik

Yeah, hey, you are you are a true supporter of the homies. I'm equal equal opportunity, man. I want everybody to be taken care of.

Joe

Absolutely, and that's what it's about. And don't scam people, you know, take care of people and they'll take care of you. That's how it works. Agreed, and maybe get them a burger barcode every once in a while. I can't shut it down. Is it gone? What are you serious right now? I did not know. The only time I ever went there is with you.

Aarik

I know it's good. So we went there in September on, and it was a Sunday, and it was actually Cody's birthday. Cody owns it. We come, we go to the airport, come home. It is Tuesday. He shuts it down Tuesday. Dude, I'm like, I drank with you for seven hours on Sunday, never said a word. I had no idea. I had no idea. Holy cow. That's I'm like, we have pictures with us freaking taking shots together. Like, you can't tell me you're shutting the bar down.

Joe

Never said a word. I guess we're gonna have to open up the Chase in Daylight Podcast Code Burger Place. Let's do it. I got the perfect spot, it's empty. Honestly, bad location. But go ahead, T Lou. Shout out to you. Totally fair.

Dan

That place was pretty good. But no, T Lu said that he did he feels like it was an intentional bryson debacle thing. Um, I don't think it was intentional myself, but what's really weird is after watching a few replays, like the intentional stops, stomps. Like you could literally see. I mean, I know it's tall grass, so obviously you gotta raise your knees to get up out of it, but it literally looked like he was like stomping down harder on the grass than a normal step, but I don't know where the ball was. He can't see anything. I don't know how close that was to the ball, so I I don't know. I uh I think it's one of those you had to be there kind of things, but whatever. He got assessed the two-stroke penalty.

Aarik

So I have a couple two cents about this thing.

Joe

Yes, I would assume you would. Go for it.

Aarik

I don't whatever.

Joe

Um, but no, it's not my problem.

Aarik

I I think he is the last person on earth I'm worried about cheating. Like yeah, for sure. He's how he is, he does his thing, he's owned, be it of his own what whatever. I don't think he's a cheater. Now I think he can get into a way and kind of not pay attention to things and kind of not be aware, which could hurt him, but the video that a lot of people didn't see, as soon as he hits that golf ball over there, if I counted correctly, there were 14 people looking for his ball around that area looking for that golf ball to stick that flag in. So I'm not saying it didn't step wrong, I'm not saying it didn't pat something down, but there were 14 people in that spot right patting all that grass down, doing all kinds of stuff before he got there. And if it's a penalty, it's a penalty, like so be it. Scotty hits his left on 16 his second shot.

Dan

Yeah.

Aarik

Immovable, immovable, temporary movable object, whatever.

Dan

Yeah, yeah.

Aarik

So use the rules to his advantage, which the officials next to me yelled at the seven people looking for it, his golf ball, stop looking for my ball because it was assumed, and everybody said that's where it was, so he gets a free drop. I don't care which one you choose, I just need you to be on the same side of the road, right? Right? Like, really, yeah, of course. I don't I don't care. Like it's the the only way I can put the analogy is my head is like freaking I never root for Spain and Christopher Columbus unless it's against Nazis because I hate Argentina, right? Like I don't I don't I don't care if you're a Nazi, I just need to know that you are so I know what side of the road you're on. Like I'm good with it. Like so I can go about my business. But you you can't have a you can't have a penalty very Kanye, very Kanye. And then well, I'm born in Chicago. Kanye or you're not Kanye? Well, I'm Kanye before Kanye, exactly before LA Kanye. But it's like if you're gonna give a penalty, give a penalty. If you're gonna let me take advantage of the rules and not give me one, then that's cool. Just I need to know where I'm at, man. Like, just just let me know so I can do what I gotta do.

unknown

Yeah.

Dan

Nazi carles. Yeah.

Aarik

What's Argentina? What do you expect? Yeah, and I'm Puerto Rican, so they hate me. So screw them. That's where the fifth one is you know what?

Dan

Until until I didn't know any of this stuff, Eric, until I've I've this World Cup.

Aarik

And I would oh, I could send you all the stuff they've done. Some of that's like genocides and all this.

Joe

Yeah, that's the fifth, bro. That's the fifth.

Dan

Yeah, that's a lot of the fifth rank.

Joe

A lot of stuff over there. I I wasn't adding that part, but I said it was the fifth.

Aarik

No, it's okay.

Joe

I'm browned I can't hear good. Yeah. What did you think, Dan, about the stomp on the well, yeah.

Dan

Like I said, I I I don't know. I I wouldn't think Bryson would be the one to cheat the game, but he's always the one to see if there's like loopholes. Because you know, he's had shit in the past where he's asked for drops about this and that, uh, ant ant hills or ant uh ant coal.

Joe

You know, burring animal hole. Burring animals, my favorite rule.

Dan

And then he does himself no favors with his little you know, encore tantrums and shit like that. So I think he's always gonna be like in the side eye, you know. I think a lot of people want to love Bryson because I mean, yeah, he tries to he tries to have fun and tries to pump up the crowd and get them going and stuff like that, which is it's it's cool or whatever, but the dude's a cornball, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, so I think with just uh extra extra attention that that brought, it probably just sort of like, well, typical Bryson shit. You know, it's up to the shenanigans, it's up to the shenanigans again. Um, but I feel like he's just he loves the game of golf too much to really like try to cheat intentionally. Um but uh okay. Can I please can I be devil's advocate? Just a few of those steps look weird. Please go ahead.

Aarik

Can I be devil's advocate? So it's like I don't think I don't think Bryson's a victim, like at all. Fucking Rory starts opening his mouth. Uh like, here's your chance to take the high road, dude. Like I defend you, I'm trying to defend you. Yeah, it doesn't matter if you don't like people, there's people I don't like, but I don't I mean, not that I'm on TV, but I don't just go around being like, you know what? I don't like that guy. I'm not a fan of that guy. Like, here's your chance to take the high road.

Dan

Yeah, but here's the thing though Brooks did it and everybody embraced it. Everybody was like, Brooksy! All that stuff. Is it because Burks is a American?

Joe

Yes, he's more likable. For sure. Because Bricks is a frat boy.

Dan

For sure. He's definitely more likable than Rory, but it nonetheless, they're doing the same shit. Burks did the same thing, you know.

Aarik

Did he because Rory's not American then?

Joe

I don't know. I I think I think where it comes from is Rory does the same shit sometimes, right? Like I started seeing clips of Rory acting like a fucking piece of shit.

Dan

Oh, absolutely.

Joe

I don't I don't know if I've I don't, I mean, yeah, Brooks. I haven't seen him really get super frustrated where he's throwing a club in a lake or down in sand in a bunker, definitely not, definitely doesn't do that for sure. No, you know, but Rory. I think I think I think it comes from Rory being a baby at times. I mean, Rory's a fantastic player, but um, you know, I think you know, they were battling at some point. I mean, I don't think he improved his lie, maybe he improved his backswing. Yeah, you know what I mean? But and like, like, like Eric said, is like we don't know how many people tramped on it, and what is an acceptable approach to approach the golf ball? Are you gonna step into the hoverboard? Yeah, you gotta come from the side and you can't mess with anything, you know, and I think a lot of that shit also is like Brandel Chamblet. Oh my gosh, don't do it. And you know, he he doesn't like he doesn't like Bryson at all. And McGinley doesn't like him, they don't they don't like live golf, they don't like what he represents because they're changing the norm of yeah, you know, the tradition of golf, and they go they go hard on the they go hard on Bryson because you know he's he's diving into the future. I mean, I don't want to say future, but you know, golf a lot of people are consuming golf through, and I mean, I I mean, I step into golf, you gotta step into the golf ball on your intended line.

Aarik

And Shambly said you can't walk, you doesn't need to walk in from behind. Like, who the hell are you to say that?

Dan

Yeah, you I always walk in from behind, I always say almost every shot.

Aarik

You gotta line up. So you know Brando Chamble used to live here, right? We call him Chamblet. We call him my Chambly. My fear is gonna run into him in this city. So there's a thousand percent I punched that dude in the face. I'm like, I'm so glad he doesn't live here anymore.

Dan

He's very punchable.

Aarik

Something about your face just makes me want to punch it.

Joe

Look at the comp the company man chiming in. Sam Burns took the high road. Rory could have learned something. Rory's not gonna learn anything. Rory's an idiot. Sam Burns is a calorie player, the company man has spoke, guys. Just we'll just just leave it there and we can go forward.

Aarik

Sam Burns did good. Somebody else did good too. Sheffler didn't do bad.

Dan

Sheffler didn't do bad. Cam Young did great. No, Cam Young on the killer. Cam Young's set third round killed him. He was already there. He was six under, and then for him to shoot three under like that, or three over on that third day. Even if he if he would have shot even, he wins the tournament with that final round 65.

Aarik

What was it? Uh was it the last nine holes or the last four holes for C Wu Kim that kicked him in the nut sack?

Dan

Uh I think it was the last four.

Aarik

Yeah, right? Something like that.

Dan

He was right there too. He took a he took a one-shot lead, I think, with like on like 14 or 13 or something like that.

Aarik

Yeah, you're right.

Dan

And then um, what's it called?

Joe

Uh Fax Lando, Fax Lando. Going in for the back is always the best.

Dan

Uh, but yeah, it was a good open, man.

Joe

Um, it was a good open. I didn't watch it, but I enjoyed it.

Dan

Good.

Joe

Um what what's your what's your guys' thoughts on? I saw other things on um social media. Like I saw some guy like the course isn't green, and I just tuned out. I was like what if the old fucking goober, dude? What a goober, straight goober.

Aarik

I mean, what else is that supposed to be green?

Joe

No, it's supposed to be Barton Brown and fast, it's supposed to fucking run, and it's supposed to be, you know, like the greens were great. I mean, and uh this is what we say all the time like as long as the greens are good, you don't have much to complain about. Correct, because the golf course plays the way it's gonna play, but it's brown, it's brown. Oh well, fucking play the golf course.

Aarik

And this is the part I love about like people like amateur golfers who think they're good at golf. Those fairways are like hitting off the middle of your street, and the greens, they're like, Well, the greens are rolling at 11, so they're slow. Well, they're slow for tour players. Your Muni that you play on, where the greens roll seven, you still put it in the bunker because you don't understand speed and slope and grain. And then if we flip it and give you good fairways where you can take divots where the greens roll 14 with slope that you've never played on because you don't understand how hard it is, you still shoot 130. So stop and just watch it on TV and enjoy and root for your guy. It's not that big a deal.

Joe

Stop exactly just it's it's it's not your problem, guys. It's not your problem, it's theirs. It's theirs.

Aarik

Uh I mean, did I did, but I mean, and you both would tell me if I said something wrong.

Joe

No, I don't. I I mean it's one of those things, like, dude, I I love letting your shot dictate where you are, you know. Like, I love the course, you gotta hit the right spots, and that's that's what it's all about. On when you're when you're that good, you have to hit the spot, and that's what it's about. And that's one of the reasons why I love playing Wild Horse. People hate it, but in the wintertime or even Palm Valley or Aliante, you get the run-out, so you benefit from the run out if you hit a good shot, and you sure you know if you get the bad bounce, that's on you. You gotta hit the spots, correct? So, and I think I think I that's I think it played exactly how an open should play.

Dan

Yeah, I agree.

Aarik

I thought it was true. I thought it was amazing, I thought it was awesome.

Dan

Yeah, I love seeing that ball roll out and fall into bunkers and fall off the green center. I love that shit.

Joe

Like, yeah, I think it was Ryan Fox, like he hit a great shot and it just trickled right into the bunker, and he had to fucking stand outside the bunker and hit, you know, like yeah, or even 17, or even Cam Young, even Cam Young shot on 18 out of that fairway bunker. Yep.

Aarik

Pretty much any PGA tour event, if he's in that fairway bunker, he hits the ball, it lands on the green, or somewhere, somewhere near the green.

unknown

Yeah.

Aarik

Not not in an open.

Joe

Yeah.

Aarik

It's a different animal. Absolutely. And like that's what I'm worried about, the PGA championship in Dallas next year.

Joe

Oh, playing Frisco, that's right.

Aarik

They have to make those fairways. I'm exaggerating, but they have to make those fairways 15 yards wide. Or they're gonna shoot 30 under.

unknown

Yeah.

Aarik

Well, they can make it 77, 7800. It's irrelevant. If there's no rough, they're gonna hit it as hard as they can. And they're gonna hit the nine ones.

Dan

Yeah, it is. Have you played out there?

Aarik

Yeah, quite a bit.

Dan

I've cat I've catied out there, and it was uh yeah. I was like, man, this course looks fun.

Aarik

They're gonna shoot nothing, which you know if you cat out there, they're gonna shoot nothing. They're gonna yeah, they're gonna kill it. Unless they do something about it.

Dan

They're gonna kill it.

Joe

Yep. Yeah, but I mean, even I mean, what is what is the what's an what's the number? Like, what does numbers matter? Like, who cares what the golf course par is? Yeah, this is a lot of people I talk about too. It's like you're playing the golf course, you're not playing for a number. I mean, we can go, we can go all around Vegas and we could shoot, we could play all the golf courses in Vegas if we had the time, play them every day, have the repeatable swing. They're all gonna be pretty different, you know, because they're all in different shape. I mean, like, what does the number actually matter? You're playing the people that are playing the golf course, and I think a lot of people get stuck on that shit. Oh, I shot 200. Oh, well, we're at when what was the win like? You know what I mean? What was it running? Was it was it soft? Did it rain? You know, and I think people get stuck way too hard on that shit. Yeah, I understand because the golf course can play different every single day, every day.

Aarik

That's why that's why you get a draw. That's why Thursday you tee off at 7 a.m. and Friday you tee off at noon to try to make it as fair as possible.

Joe

Exactly. Yeah, yeah, and you get you get an early round, you get an afternoon round. You know, you can't control the weather. Can't control the weather.

Aarik

I didn't know that my boy Joe had the course record at Cowdy Springs. I didn't know that.

Joe

Thanks until I saw that. Dude, I it was a great day. It was a great day, man. It was a really good day. I fired, I fired it every day.

Aarik

Apologize, Joseph Ramlett. Yes, I know, I know, I know. Apologies.

Dan

What do you shoot 62 out there?

Aarik

62 or 3. Yeah. I mean, that's I've never been up there, I've never seen it.

Joe

Yeah, it's uh just hard to imagine on a Thursday. Come over here on a Thursday and we'll go play it.

Dan

That's hard to imagine.

Joe

Yeah, that's that's pretty fucking sick.

Dan

Yeah.

Joe

Tough golf course. We're playing golf in September.

Aarik

I just don't know where we're going.

Dan

Out here?

Aarik

Yeah. Oh shit. I just don't know where we're going. September.

Joe

We got I I think we gotta go to Coyote Springs now.

Aarik

I mean, you got two. I think we got two. I'm not burnt, I'm not burning a day. I'll go play freaking Angel Park and be happy.

Joe

Yeah, no, yeah.

Aarik

I'm not burning a day.

Joe

Angel Park's. We'll see. Um let's go. Mikey B Mike B. Mikey B. Do we need the show The Hawk? Have you watched The Hawk, Greenley?

Aarik

No, I have no desire to.

Joe

Have you watched any Dan? Okay. I've watched I've watched the first three or four episodes. And I will say, I mean, are you guys fans of Will Farrell, right? Like Will Farrell.

Aarik

I don't mind, but some but sometime I just just turn just need to turn it off sometimes.

Joe

Just turn it off.

Aarik

It's a little much sometimes.

Joe

I I get it, I get it, I get it. Um, but I will say it's pretty accurate from from what I understand of the game and and grinding on tours and things like that, and how he's got to come up from the corn fairy. It's not like Happy Gilmore. It's like he's playing on the Corn Fairy, he's chasing the Grand Slam. I I haven't finished it, so I can't give a full uh I can't give a full chipmunks. You should watch I think you should watch it, Dan.

Dan

All right.

Joe

I'll take a look at it. There was moments where I was like, damn, that's pretty accurate. You know, unlike everything else we've seen, it's kind of a little fake.

Dan

Yeah. It's Netflix, right?

Joe

Yeah, it's Netflix. And I love Lil Farrell. He's my he's teenhood, you know what I mean? That's my guy. All right, we gotta do one of these giveaways. Let's do one of these giveaways in a minute. When Greenley gets back, we're gonna pull one of these gibbeys. Thank you guys for tuning in for episode 390. Dad is not home, Jeremy's in the Philippines, and he's going to Japan. We're gonna give away two dozen TP5s. We're gonna do one dozen once once Greenley comes back, and then we're gonna give the other dozen pretty soon because we're at an hour and 18 minutes, which is absolutely crazy. Nuts. There he is.

First TaylorMade TP5 Giveaway Winner Announced

Aarik

If I know who it is, I'm just gonna say no, and I'm not saying nothing. I'm just kidding.

Dan

I know who it is, and I don't like them.

Joe

We got okay. I can you guys trust me? I I don't even know if I know how to share the screen.

Aarik

If I know who it is, I'm gonna put sharp in all of them so you can't trade them in at a store.

Joe

Nice. Share screen. I don't see that. That's a good move. Right here. Oh, there it is. Share screen, I think. Share. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. All right. We're just gonna pull it. And you guys can trust me, or you don't have to trust me. We're gonna draw it right now. Leave your comment.

Aarik

Sounds like a very vegan thing. No, I got you.

Joe

I was telling I was telling it's a bet, trust me. Was it 5149? No smokey. I filmed a little bit of it. Smoky, are you here? Smokey, you gotta leave a comment if you want one.

Aarik

Oh, plus we're going to a preseason game this Saturday that I'm there. The nights, I think it's night smoky dokie.

Joe

Smokey dokie, you're here.

Dan

Uh Eric, well, while we were in um Nebraska, we went to a casino one night, and Joe was like, Oh, let me uh let me play some craps real quick. Oh, and we were over there and he starts betting and he starts throwing this money down there. I'm filming it too. We're gonna and the dealer had no clue the bet he was talking about. And he goes, he goes, I live in Las Vegas, trust me. Uh trust me, my dad was a craps dealer.

Joe

That was 1440 golf. We can't do that. Oh no, man. Oh, damn. Holy smokes.

Dan

No, I know what I'm talking about.

Joe

Trust me, I promise.

Dan

Yeah, I promise you, trust me.

Joe

Lando, Lando's here. Lando's here, right? Lando's here.

Dan

Lando. How's Lando? I'll show you. Didn't he win last week? Too.

Joe

That's fine. He's here though, right? I know too.

Dan

Damn, he's on fire. Because I think he was here.

Joe

Look, see, trust me, guys. There you go. One go to Lando.

Aarik

Yeah, there he is. If you send me his address, I'll mail him tomorrow.

Joe

Aarik

We believe you. Trust me. Send me his send me his deets, and I'll take it to work and I'll mail it tomorrow.

Joe

Yeah, Lando, you can uh message me on Instagram or what yeah, don't do that.

Aarik

Hey Lando, message Eric702 on Instagram. Give me your address because I'm gonna have to do it tomorrow. Then I'll mail him up tomorrow for you.

Dan

A-A-R-I-K.

Joe

Yeah. We got one more dozen to give away, though, guys. Okay. So we gotta do that. Oh, so you split them up? All right. Yeah, we split them up. Beds said shout out beds. He bed said split em up. Shout out Travis Matthew.

Aarik

I mean, we can do this all night. I got freaking towels, I got hats. I mean, we can also Lando's we could change, we could turn it to Oprah. We could turn it to Oprah.

Joe

You see that Surnament for everybody. You see that S on Lando's name right there? That little Senate S, that little yeah. What does that mean? Super chat. He's a subscriber of the podcast. I'm a subscriber of the podcast. Yeah, well, we changed it. When's the last time you watched?

Aarik

Last week, Negro.

Joe

Okay, all right. I'm just asking. Not my problem. Not my problem. Okay.

Aarik

It is your problem. You should know.

Joe

We're gonna give away another dozen courtesy of Mr. Greenley himself. AAA Rick. All right. We're at an hour and 22 minutes.

Aarik

You got nothing else to do.

Joe

That's true. I'll hang out for four hours if you guys want to.

Aarik

It's Rick at 8.20 at your house. It's 10:30 here. Yeah, it's 8.23. Shout out Jordan. 1023 here, baby.

Dan

Oh, one more minute. Kobe. Kobe.

Aarik

Kobe hour. I am I am on the phone till I run out of booze. And I got a lot. A whole lot.

Joe

Let's do the longest podcast ever and just make Matt fucking hate editing. He would go bananas. I'm so down.

Aarik

It would go bananas. I'm so down. This is what you Joe. This is what you need to do. Yeah. Tell me. Can you see that? Hold on. Let me get it right. Kingdom Academy. Yeah. Taylor Maine. You get somebody to donate something, I'll send that to them. You can't you can't buy that. You can't get that. Hold on. Donate where? Where? Here? To you, to the show, to the podcast. Chasing daylight, hitting green, something. Yeah, I I mean you guys earn them.

Joe

I know. I mean, I don't know what to tell you.

Aarik

If I start throwing money at you, I'll start sending it to them. But it needs to go to it needs to go to you guys. Well, needs to go to the podcast.

Joe

He's to support the podcast. Yeah, well, I mean, I mean, I would assume if they're watching on YouTube, they know how to do it. I don't know.

Aarik

We're on episode 390, and I was a subscriber of the last episode. I mean, I'm a little behind.

Joe

Greenly, isn't it crazy? We're on episode 390.

Aarik

I think my first one I was on was like 80. 80 something. Right? Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. Or I was in freaking Matt's house sitting in that freaking couch or in the garage or something.

Joe

It's crazy. Shout out to all the listeners, man. Over the years. Crazy. We used to record it live in person, and now, you know, with technology, we don't have to. I can't believe you guys still talk to me. Not my problem. We need to do a Chase and Daylight podcast t-shirt where it just says, not my problem on it. And then on the very bottom, it says, Not my problem, put it in the chat.

Aarik

And there you go. You're welcome.

Dan

Oh, look at T Dog. Oh, T Dog came in with five dollars. He said, Give me that fucking towel.

Aarik

Yeah, five dollars ain't gonna cut it, buddy. Gotta take care of my homies. I don't cover shipping.

Dan

T Dog's T Dogs.

Aarik

You can't get this towel supporter. This towel does not exist. That'll send you a BA composites. I'll send you a BA composites towel for five bucks.

Dan

He sends us stuff every podcast.

Aarik

Yeah.

Dan

Shout out, shout out Tracy. Shout out T Dog. Shout out Honity System. Shout out Thomas Amack.

Joe

Hey, what is the uh what's the Callaway uh place called? Like the kingdom, the what's the kingdom version of the Callaway facility?

Aarik

Eli Callaway Performance Center.

Joe

Do they have them spread out across the country? Like East Coast, West Coast.

Aarik

They're all in the same street, dude.

Joe

I know there's a kingdom in in Georgia.

Aarik

Callaway, Puma. It's they're it's all the same street. Um in Georgia, right? Yeah, uh Reynolds Okanoe or something like that. Okay, building a kingdom in uh is it Okonee?

Dan

We've been there. We've been to that kingdom, we've been there.

Aarik

They're building a kingdom in the United Kingdom somewhere. Oh, that's oh the UK. The UK and then as far as I know, Kingdom Salt and Guinea Callaway version, it's the only one that I know of, to my knowledge.

Joe

I was just asking because you know, typically this is ran by a company man, and I was just curious what well, but title is you can go both coasts.

Aarik

You can tiles has it covered, Taylor Made has it covered, ping has it covered, Callaway does it though. I love it. Does it though?

Joe

I mean, I love Callaway drivers. I love Calloway drivers. There's nothing wrong with them.

Aarik

That's not what we're talking about.

Joe

Just only in one spot.

Aarik

Yeah, we're just making sure you're covered. Dude, the guy who runs the company hired me to run Forts. I have nothing against Callaway. Yeah, he was my boss at Adams.

unknown

Yeah.

Dan

I played. Do you know the name Kia Ma? Kiama. He used to make the freaking nicest guy on earth.

Aarik

I have no idea why that guy was so great to me, but he treated me like family. That guy's great.

Dan

I played, I played Torrey Pine, Torrey Pines North with him.

Aarik

Dude, how awesome is that guy?

Dan

He's really good. He was so awesome, bro. That this was back in the day, early 2000s. We get done playing golf. He comes, he comes up to me and my buddy, my buddy Mike just started working for Taylor Main. He was a club rep uh with him for a while. He saw Hake, he goes, Hey Dan, Mike, come over here. So we came over to his trunk, and he had customs, not even released, just one of ones. Yeah, and he gave us he gave us each one of them. He goes, Here you go. He goes, Enjoy him, play with him. That's how he was. Okay, cool. I have no idea where that putter is today, and I wish I did. Um But um yeah he was really cool.

Aarik

Yeah Kia Ma's amazing human.

Dan

Yeah he's Taylor made Scotty Cameron Joe.

Aarik

Yeah, okay.

Dan

Before Olson got in there.

Aarik

So amazing. Like that guy, guy's unbelievable how good at what he how good at what he does.

Dan

I think Joe, do you know do you know that the Taylor made Rasa putters, the Rossa line? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I think that's KML shit. I think that's his creation.

Joe

What um uh let me we might I don't know. I don't even know if we open the door, but what do you I mean it's not my problem, but you know. What do you what do you what what do you think about Scotty Cameron, Eric? As far as what like I so I can answer your question properly. As far as like um oh shit. Holy smokes, Jason Jackson with a monster banger. Oh, that's my buddy. What did he say?

Dan

50. He sent 50.

Aarik

Screw you, Jay. Yeah, thank you, Jay. So so that's that's like that's my homie. So he's here golfing.

Dan

Shout out to the homies.

Aarik

Um backstory Jason Jackson. He is six foot nine, got drafted, same class as Kevin Durant. Ooh.

Dan

Oh, he's a little fella.

Aarik

Yeah, he's super small. Short, short as hell. I freaking bang my driver as hard as I can down the car path, and his mini driver goes 15 past it. So, but yeah, that's the guy I play golf with and drink with.

Dan

At 6'9, I can imagine, I can imagine that swing arc is probably about probably travels about three more feet than yours does.

Aarik

Yeah, that's our that's a that's our joke, right? Because he's literally 100 pounds heavier than me and one foot taller than me.

Joe

There's no shot that you're you're 6'9280. Yeah, there's no shot.

Dan

So Jason Jason says, just for my dog, I don't want the towel.

Aarik

That's my boy. He takes care of people, man. He's the greatest guy.

Dan

Hey, shout out Jason.

Aarik

Jackson, appreciate you, man. Um, what was the question before I got distracted?

The Truth About Scotty Cameron Putters & Painted Shafts

Joe

Oh, Scotty Kelly. Well, so what I was getting into is so I mean, you spent some time on whatnot. Yeah, is what I'm getting at. And you've seen how and I know got I know we got some of the whatnot guys in here. Um, I'm just curious on your thoughts on the hype of it. And like, I mean, previous, like back early 2000s, different time, right? Yeah, for sure. The time now is just different. And the hype, I like I I struggle to get it, and I'm involved in the daily on whatnot and everything, but like it's like I just that dude's not making putters anymore.

Aarik

He got kicked, he got kicked out.

Joe

Uh well, yeah, exactly. Like, a Scotty Cameron is not as a 2000 Scotty Cameron is not the same as a 2026 Scotty Cameron, and that's a thousand percent. You know what I mean? Thousand percent. And but people see the name, and like it just it like I struggle all the time, and I say stuff on the podcast that I will not say on whatnot because you know I'm helped. I gotta help the homie. No, I don't have to make I don't have to make money. I'm I'm trying to help the homies and the friends that I've met and not try and say too much, and I also don't want to get kicked off because I love it, it's fucking fun, sure. You know what I mean? And I'm trying to promote the podcast and build the Higgins Green's brand or whatever it is, but like people fucking go ape shit, and it's just different. Even 15 years ago, well, 16 years ago, whatever it was, but it's like, what is your opinion on where it's at now and where it was? Yeah, I think is my question.

Aarik

The best way I can the best way I can try to explain it is there was a in my opinion, there was a very, very big gap of when I started working on tour and that tour product to versus what you can get retail. Like I will say that was the Grand Canyon, just random example. Now it's like it's just a creek or a river, like the difference between the quality, the qualities got so much better. Um, so when you're dealing with Torres shoe putters or certain things, unless it's a one-off or a two off, the quality of materials can be very close to be a lot better than it wasn't 20 years ago, 15 years ago, whatever. Um, I think that's the main difference. Like it's easier to reproduce something circle T now, yeah, yeah, than it was in 2005, whatever, 2006, even 2010. Um, the stuff that's in Scotty's gallery in Incinitas versus what I've seen there recently, it's kind of like okay, it's cool, but like, is it really worth 10 grand anymore? Right? Like in 2005, that putter's 10 grand. Cool. We'll never see it again. Pay the 10 grand. Now it's like, I mean, it's gonna be the same thing in like two weeks, so like who really cares? Does that kind of make that I kind of explained that yeah properly?

Joe

I don't know if you know, but are like, I mean, obviously, right? Like all the super selects or whatever coming out nowadays, they're made in China, right? Or yeah, exactly. So it's not a Scotty Cameron, like a Scotty Cameron is touched by Scotty Cameron, made by Scotty Cameron. Okay, thank you. That's that's what I was trying to get. No, no, thousand percent. Yeah, and Lando said, I think, which you know, shout out Jeremy. Jeremy's not here, Jeremy's not here to defend himself, and he's a lover, you know. And Scottie Cameron built a brand, which is exactly. I think I'm just a creature of habit and just stick with it because uh KTS, what I've played, I do like the new chain link milling, but a lot of people hate it. I mean, you can like different milling. I I feel like my question is is a lot of people think that Scotty Cameron made that shit by himself, yeah, and they get it.

Dan

He's too big, he's too big now to make money.

Aarik

He's too big, he's too big. He doesn't have time for that. It's a team. No, absolutely not. So if like my Tourette, if they make a Tourette tomorrow, the metal's different, the finish is different, the billing's different, it's not this, it's not the same quality. Yeah, like I'm I'm fortunate to have the older one, right? And it's just it's so different again, it's marketing. So absolutely, you built a brand, you do whatever. I give people a hard time, literally every single day, about playing a Ventus. Well, Vint is the best shaft ever. Says who? No, if you think Rory McElroy, and you have to think about how they swing, if you think Rory McElroy, Scotty Scheffler, and Jordan Spith all play the same Ventus Black, different, like you're dumber than you look. Because until when you're on tour, there's no copyright infringement because it's not being sold. Yeah, so they laser shafts and they just paint them. So until you're actually holding it, you have no idea what that shaft is, you have no idea what it is.

unknown

Yeah, thank you.

Aarik

That's three people with three polar different releases, different hinge points, different face rotation speeds. Oh no, they play Ventus Black. No, they don't. They don't. They're different golf shafts, but people are naive. Actually, I take that back. People are naive. People are stupid, and they want, and they want to buy what the person has on TV, so they buy it. That's marketing, yeah. And just call it what it is, man.

Dan

That's genius marketing.

unknown

So good.

Dan

If players in the world have it, I gotta have it.

Aarik

Correct. Yeah, because it's painted the same. What they the funny part is, and it's no offense to Fuji, like good for them, but Aldola did it before. So when he had Aldola Tor blue and green and white, they were all painted the same color, but the tour was painted a different color, but you couldn't see that on TV. So good for Aldola, and then before that, Tiller made made them paint chefs all the same color.

Joe

Okay, smarter. Yeah, this is what I was kind of getting up earlier. Shout out David Dew's and ended up in this place. So, this is what I was trying to get out earlier, and you're here. You've had it, you know. So I had to build all that nonsense. Yeah. So what you're saying right now is just because a shaft says it's a shaft, it's not the shaft.

Aarik

It means absolutely dick. Until you're actually holding the shaft and you can read the label or read how it's laser etched. But it could have been painted though, right? But you can't paint laser etching because the laser etching will tell you what it is.

unknown

Okay.

Aarik

It can be painted ventus black, but it could be laser-etched motori F1.

Joe

Oh, so it could be a Ventus black etched motori.

Aarik

It could be painted black with silver stripes. And where it says Ventus, you will never see it because it's not painted in, it's not filled in. It will say Matori F1, Matori F2, Matori F36S. Yeah. You don't know what it is unless you're actually touching it. You have no idea what it is.

Joe

Makes sense. Yeah, Mikey's uh uh just like hoop shoes, the pros use equipment that's way different than what is released to the masses. Thousand percent. Oh thousand.

Aarik

Sorry, a thousand, two thousand percent. I've given away my buddy drove the truck for Nike on tour, and I had a friend I grew up with who I gave the shoes away to. The shoes that they wear, same thing, painted the same color, it's not the same shoes.

unknown

Yeah, yeah.

Aarik

Marketing made it's made for Joe, it's made for dad, it's made for that, it's it's marketing. Marketing, style marketing, and people are like, no, it's not. Well, you keep buying it, so yes, it is.

Joe

Yeah, true. That's one of those things that I was always stuck with, man. When you I mean, I mean, it's probably three years ago, and you said shafts are painted. I mean, they they take shafts from last year's release and repaint them, and they say Ventus on them, you know what I mean? Like that's very easy to do, and it's very economical, and very it's a good way to you know continue your your investment and make more money because you don't have to make new shit and you you know just because it I mean if something says TR on it, like a Ventus TR, like I know they did that, they started doing that though. They started putting TR but prior to TR before they were doing that and painting TR on the like new tailor-made drivers, yeah. Like, is that just a vent is and then they repainted it and said TR on it on the shaft?

Aarik

Yeah, TR is a totally different animal.

Joe

Okay, but uh don't they have TRs in Tailor made shit now? Um like stock shit.

Aarik

Oh stock, oh stock, I have no idea. Not that I've seen I'm not saying they don't, but I haven't seen it.

Joe

I think they did. Um yeah. Honestly, what we're getting down to right now is we're saying like everybody's different fucking go get fit. Is that what you're saying? Like find what works best for you. I don't I don't know.

Aarik

Send me a message, bring it home. Send me a message. I will I will direct you to the nearest best fitter in your part of America. Yeah, I don't care if you're in Vegas, Florida, Seattle, Maine. So if you get fit, I know somebody I could point you in a direction.

Joe

So say I go say I go get fit for a driver's shaft. Okay. All right, okay. I want a Ventus black TR. And then they order it for me. Is it is is it what it is, or do it does it need to be frequency tested uh where I get fit, and then when when it arrives, I gotta get it frequency tested or pured or what? Like so it a TR is not the same TR that I hit currently, is what I'm trying to ask.

unknown

Yeah.

Aarik

Here's the problem: going somewhere and telling them what you want is the problem. Yeah, get fit for what you need. Now, if you're ordering a shaft and the shaft is you know from the brand and it's quality product, you'd have to deal with any of that stuff. Now, if you want to get something pured, if you getting it pured makes you feel better here, then get it pured. But the catches, once it's set and you change that adapter and that puring changes, then what you just did is irrelevant. Yeah, because it changed where that purity spot is. And then there's a and there's an argument, you know, you get it pure, it makes you feel better, do it. But does the purity line go at six or does it go at 12? And that's an argument. So there's if it makes you feel better here, do it. Set the adapter, go play golf, leave it alone. Leave it alone. As long as it's a real Fuji Diamada, they all have different things, whether it's a hologram sticker, whether it's a serial number, whether as long as it has that stuff, you can check it out. You can call the brand, they'll tell you if it's real or not, and then you go about your business. So it makes you feel more confident in spending the money that you're spending.

Joe

I mean, I love the even flow shaft, and I will not use an even flow shaft unless it says small batch on there. You mean handcrafted, or handcrafted or small batch back in the day. Pre, because they used to say I've never seen I've never seen it. You saw the evenflow that said small batch? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a riptide, riptide C B, I think. Oh, so riptide said small batch. No, even flow did not. Yeah, even flow said handcrafted, and then said small batch, yeah, yeah. So split there.

Aarik

You ready for me to break your brain? Ready for me to break your brain? Break it. So the new the new Titan shafts, yeah. All made in Vietnam. Unless you get a TX made in San Diego. Interesting.

Dan

Have you tried that shaft?

Aarik

Yeah, it's a lot. Yeah. That's a lot. That's like that's that's Julian's.

Dan

I was gonna say, is that Trey and Julian stuff?

Aarik

So it's it does it won't work for it won't work for Trey because he de-lofed so much. It'll work for Julian because he has so much handle pull. So it'll work for Julian. Julian hit it a mile. Here Trey Trey won't hit it six feet off the ground.

Joe

It might work for him though. He's just gonna run the fuck out of playing the open.

Aarik

If he's yeah, about to say if he's moving to Ireland, all right.

Joe

So Dan Tefasian. Uh, I don't know why he's not a subscriber yet to the podcast, but anyway, thank you, Dan. Tuning in every week. If your swing is not consistent enough to hit 50% of fairways, does it matter playing a custom custom shafts? Is it does it have to is it fairways, or what is it? Is that a question for me? Yeah, that's for more than like I'm not a mass. I've never I I've never been involved in the golf space.

Aarik

So if if if you want to hit a custom shaft, you can most of the problem is probably the driver head itself. So the bias of the head is either wrong, and I'm lit. This is before I touch golf swing. The bias of the head is wrong, or the loft is wrong.

Joe

If you're struggling with this, I think this is where you can get the nuances, though. He's saying yes, fairways to hit fairways.

Aarik

Like yeah, if you want to hit fairways, you it's you hit too much loft. That's super simple. You hit too much loft, and you hit something that's too stiff. That will hit fairways. It's not gonna go as far. It's not gonna feel very good, but you're gonna hit fairways. Yeah, right? So it's like all these people who do fittings and do all this nonsense about impact angle and this, dude, stop. Do the best you can to hit it solid, yeah, have an attack angle that's at least zero, if not positive, up to up to four positive. If you can do those two things, if you can give me a smash factor of 145, if you can give me an attack angle of plus two, I can help you hit it further. I can help you hit it further. Because if you're doing those two things, then that means your path is less than probably three degrees, yeah, as far as in to out or out to in, and then you can kind of control your club face a little bit. That makes that easier. I can help you hit more pharaohs. Like the guy that I had who swung at 120 and he hit it 210. Well, you're over the top 10, you're down four, and your face is open seven. With like take up bowling, like there's nothing I can do for you unless you'd go take lessons. Unless you'd go take lessons. So these people try to fix every single part of track man is the problem.

Joe

But they keep selling you if you fix four over and you fix everything else.

Aarik

That's because people it's because it's marketing. Yeah, people won't listen. Because I tell them straight and LBC.

Joe

That bug flew right in my eyeball. I think uh one of the greatest things that ever happened to me when I started playing golf is like I went up to Club Champion because uh I met Matt and uh Cigar Dawn, you know, via the Chase of Daylight podcast. Wow. Um and the Don moved away and uh thankfully uh met Doc Brodin and Julian because of it, and I went up there and I was bringing uh bring new to the game basically. And I went up there to uh closed hours, doors shut, everything closed at Club Champion, and you know, doc and Julian said, like, we're not fitting you for a shaft because you don't have a swing yet, yeah. So like you can you can order this $300 shaft right now if you want, but I suggest you go back to the drawing board and try and figure out where it's at. And yeah, my my shit sucks and it's not repeatable, and you know, I mess up, but like you know, if you're a year year in, it's not gonna be your five-year, six-year swing. So, like, figure out what you're doing, and uh, and thanks to them, you know, they're gonna put me in a the like kinetic chef. What was it, Joe Johnson or whatever that Robinson, right? Robinson, like you're over the top, and this is gonna help you over the top, but it's it's different now, and you know, it you gotta trust the fitters that you use, and uh, you know, to tell you the truth. It's like a therapist, honestly.

Aarik

But that's hard because there's so much bad info. There is so many people who just are trying to like take your cash, like it's it's so hard, it's so hard, dude. Right? It's like yeah, these people come into my shop and they're like, Well, what about this? And I'm like, No. And they're like, Well, you didn't try to sell me anything, dude. I don't want your money. Yeah, there's a lot of I want your money, but like it's not gonna do you any good, and all you're gonna do, I would rather you be pissed off with me for three months and love me for 30 years, and the other way around.

Joe

Yeah, and that's the problem nowadays, too. In all in everything, that's the problem. Everything everything is quick, give it to me now. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm not wired that way. Yeah, I'm not wired like that. Me neither, man.

Dan

Said with golf though, and I mean nothing comes quick with golf. No, you know, like it just doesn't work that way.

unknown

Yeah.

Aarik

All the people who come in and like, hey, do you teach? No. Why not? Not my problem. Because you're not gonna practice.

Joe

Yeah.

Aarik

Like, you're gonna pay, you're gonna show up in a week. I'm gonna ask you if you work on your drills. You're gonna tell me no. I'm gonna get irritated and I'm gonna take a leap. Yeah. Let's just let's skip all the middle and just go about our day.

Joe

Yeah. I mean, Paul Meadows said it right here. Uh Amazon, I mean, it's a it's a give it to me now solution. You know, it's I want it now. Thousands. Nobody's nobody's willing to wait for it. I mean, I'm even not willing to wait that much for it anymore. But you know, I will go, I will go find the deal. I will put the work into uh, you know, look for the best deal occasionally, not all the time, but you know, it's a it's a here and now um fucking community, not population, whatever you want to call it.

Aarik

But it's like no, no, no, you're right. No, you're right. It really is. It's an Amazon thing, and it's like these people like outer golf clubs yesterday and they call me today.

Dan

Where are they? Where are they?

Aarik

Where are my golf clubs? I'm like, bro, like it's not Amazon. And like, as much as you think you want to be, you're not the only person on this earth. Like, you're not. Right. Yeah, golf, golf is a luxury. Golf is not a necessity. So it really is the clientele that I deal with, the clientele that a lot of these people deal with, so your dragon ridges and your cascadas and your summits and whatever's like it's a thousand degrees. There's somewhere where it's not hot, there's somewhere skiing, there's somewhere in fricking Europe somewhere where it's 74, and they're not thinking about you.

Joe

And there's Jason Kidd's playing, and Tom Brady's playing, and Jerry Rice's playing.

Aarik

Why you gotta bring up Jason Kidd?

Joe

I'm just saying, he's your homie. I'm just that felt kind of personal.

Aarik

No, I'm just saying there's I know it's I know it's not you know, I mean, do you want something signed, or what do you want me to do? Do you want something? Get it, get it for me.

Joe

Oh yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

Aarik

Do you guys have something? Do you have something, Jason Kidd? Yeah, it's right. Do you have like a card or a something?

Joe

I'll get one.

Aarik

Uh so all jokes aside, if you have something, Jason Kidd, send it to me. I'll get it signed.

Joe

Why don't we we should do a fucking we should get we should buy a Jason Kidd jersey and have him sign it and we'll give it away on the podcast or some shit. Like you all do it.

Aarik

I should I I showed you guys what he signed for my boy's birthday when I was no what we do, no, what we do is I didn't show it to you.

Joe

I I'm running the show tonight, okay. So Jason Jackson shout out to talk. Shout out, yeah. Shout out Jason Jackson. He he threw 50 out there, okay. Because he's your boy, right? Jason Jackson, right? Yeah, he threw 50. I think we spend $50 and 40 for you know shipping and all that, or whatever we do, and we get we send you something, and we have Jason Kid sign it, and we'll we'll give it away. I think that'd be solid. Yeah, I think that'd be solid. It's easy. Absolutely. Tear pivot is a brand new listener of the show. Tear pivot, thank you so much for turn turn tuning in tonight. Uh I'll show you mine.

Aarik

I'll show you mine.

Dan

Plus 2.8 for your boy.

Aarik

Daniel, that means I need four shots. I'm not as good.

Joe

Okay. So you're what what are you? You're what are you, Greenley? I'll show you mine.

Dan

Four, then Greenleaves. I'm I'm a plus two eight.

Aarik

Greeny runs four, so it's I'm not changing anything because every time I change something, you guys sound like chipmunks, so I'm not doing it.

Joe

Yeah.

Aarik

I think mine says mine says mine says two two or two four, I think. I can't even find mine.

Joe

I'm like a seven.

Aarik

I'm not good anymore.

Joe

I can't even find my hat.

Aarik

I was happy that Dano like just stayed in a golf cart with me in Phoenix, so it made me happy.

Joe

Hell yeah. What do you mean?

Aarik

I was waiting for him to kick me out.

Joe

Shit. Jason Jackson's shout out, Jason Jackson. Shout out Jason Jackson. We need to make it down to the DFW and play some G for real. That's also giving away soon. Another dozen soon. It's an hour and 55 minutes. Holy moly.

Aarik

Well, do I have time to pour another drink or do you need to wait?

Joe

Yeah, go for it. No, go do it.

Aarik

Just ask him for a friend.

Joe

I'm gonna have to say goodnight to the kids in a minute, but I want to make this as long as possible. So dad has to do as much work as he has to.

Aarik

You know what I mean? You haven't you haven't till my phone, you have until my phone dies.

Dan

He's gonna be doing some editing, that's for sure. Uh we're about a halfway point here tonight on the Chase Daylight podcast.

Joe

We still have another dozen, Taylor May, brand new, bring new boys to give away.

Dan

We got another guest coming on the show.

Aarik

But don't forget with the brand newies, we have uh hitting green stickers, we have chasing daylight stickers, we have trap golf stickers that are going in those boxes for those golf balls, homie. Yeah, holy smokes, holy smokes, holy smokes.

Joe

Umchise in the house. He's gonna win the he's gonna win. He's gonna win.

Dan

Yeah, he'll win a dozen golf balls for sure.

Joe

All right, you guys take it out. I gotta get it, I gotta put the kids down. Well, I gotta pee. What am I supposed to do?

Dan

They're still up, it's 9 p.m. God. What a bad dad. Matt says, I want to win the ball so I can throw them away.

Aarik

Wow, that's aggressive.

Dan

He's gonna go trade him in for Chrome Tours. Of course he is. Or chrome soft. What do you play, Matty? Do you play Chrome Soft or Chrome Tours?

Aarik

Chrome Soft, yeah.

Dan

I think he does play Chrome Soft, but he might have switched to the tours. I don't know. He's a company man.

Aarik

That's okay. So they're all being a company man.

Dan

What are you drinking tonight?

Aarik

Uh I am having what am I having? I'm having a little uh vanilla vodka 7 up.

Dan

Oh, okay. He's in the Tour X. Wow. Chrome Tour X. Why?

Aarik

Uh oh. I can't wait for this answer.

Dan

Uh-oh. Eric says, why? Can't wait for this answer. Disdain in his voice. Why? Dan plays a war bird. They still make those? I haven't seen Callaway Warbirds in a minute. The golf ball? I guess, yeah.

Aarik

Maybe in a scramble.

Dan

I don't know.

Aarik

Alright, my phone just clicked at me. I got 20%.

Dan

Yeah, I was gonna say, I just lost your uh I just lost video on you, but I could hear you fine.

Aarik

Well, I'm sitting in the dark. I had a pee. I'm outside in the backyard.

Dan

Oh, it's probably good you went dark, Ben. That's racist. We don't want a subject being. Is that better? There you are. I thought your screen, I thought your screen cut out. No. So where are you playing on Thursdays? You got a place you play all the time or you mix it up?

Aarik

Uh no, I just go to um so Castle Hills. Um so private course here, uh, where my buddies run. Um, or I go to Old American Tribute.

Dan

Okay.

Aarik

Uh so old American is kind of lynxy. Um but it's where they used to play the uh where they play the ladies event here for a few years.

Dan

Oh, okay.

Aarik

Um and then connected to that is a golf course called the Tribute, which is just um like lynx holes from everywhere. So like one 17-18, the old course. Yeah, I think I know kind of that kind of stuff. Um Trinity Forest, um, where they did play the Nelson for a little bit.

Dan

Yep, I've heard of that one.

Aarik

Uh I don't play Craig Ranch anymore. When I worked on when I worked on tour, I was a member at Craig Ranch.

Dan

That's a TPC, right?

Aarik

Yes.

Dan

You ever been out to um Whispering Pines? Yeah. Dude. I love that golf course. Well once. Once. I love that golf course. That was probably one of the best par three courses I've ever played. The little the little needler course out there.

Joe

Yeah.

Dan

I heard a couple years ago that it had to be like renovated because if the floods destroyed it or something like that over there.

Aarik

Yeah, it's like it's not how do I explain it? It's different for us, like your monsoon season, because basically for you, like everything's concrete, like your dirt's concrete because it doesn't range.

Joe

Right.

Aarik

Um, when it when it does that here, it's so saturated that it has nowhere to go, right? So it's like kind of equally as bad. It just says like at least yours runs here. It just we're just gonna hang out here and just see what happens, type of deal. Yeah, is kind of the issue here, but but it's uh it's good. If I play the tailor made event, the tailymate event I'll have to play before I come to Vegas, and that's a blue jack. Uh blue jack. I've never played blue jack. So but the dude who donated the 50 bucks, Jason? Yeah, he just moved to Fort Worth and they're opening another blue jack out there.

Dan

Another blue jack?

Aarik

Yeah.

Dan

Is it a tiger design too, or no?

Aarik

Yep. Wow, realistically. So the Houston is Blue Jack National, the one in Fort Worth, I believe, is called Blue Jack Ranch. So I'm trying to get him to join that one. I go selfishly because I'm gonna come play golf and like for the two days, like I'm moving in, so figure it out.

Dan

National's sick because uh I I I played there a few years back when it first opened up, so I'm sure now it's probably now that they've got like the land developed a little bit more. Yeah, but uh blue jack is sick, bro. You're gonna you're gonna like that place. It's uh very uh very Augusta vibes.

Aarik

That's what I hear. Yeah, especially I don't know if I'm going though. I don't I might not go.

Dan

Well, if you do, you won't regret it. Yeah, it's pretty nice there. The par three course is cool. Um, it's just like little 60 yarders. I wish it was a little bit longer. Sure. But um it's a cool little spot, but man, it's just they just do it right there. And like I said, it's been about probably about I went the weekend Kobe died. I was literally in Texas playing golf the weekend Kobe died, and it kind of like ruined my whole weekend. Um, so that was what 2020? So that was the last time I played. That was the last time I was up there.

Aarik

January 26th, 2020, right? Me, Roden, Julian, Hardenbrook were on revere when that happened.

Dan

Really?

Aarik

My phone went off, yeah. And I looked at my phone and I was like, What? We were standing on a par five when that happened. I'll never forget it. I still have the picture in my phone.

Dan

We were at uh Carlton Woods, Carlton Oaks, Carlton Woods.

Aarik

Oh yeah, Carlton Woods, Carlton Woods.

Dan

Yeah, we were at Carlton Woods, we were on hole three, and I got a text that said Kobe died from my one of my good friends, and then like 20 seconds later, all the was getting all the dings. Kobe Bryant dies in helicopter crash, all that shit. I was just like, What? Dude, it it sucked. Like he was a uh Kobe's my guy, dude. Like no joke, like I I've never really cried over somebody I've never met, but sure, sure, sure. As soon as I heard that shit and I I seen that it was true, I just I lost it. I was like, holy fuck, man. It was crazy. No, dude, it's a real thing, man. It's a real, real thing. But uh no, blue jack is great, man. I uh like I said, if you get the chance and decide to go, you you might love it. No, yeah.

Aarik

I'm getting my I'm getting my I'm getting my golf groove back, and I'm excited. It's very rare I'm excited about golf clubs.

Dan

I was gonna say, who is this Greenley? This does not sound like the Greenly I know.

Aarik

So I'm excited about getting these irons, and I'm I'm excited. Like I'm excited to get because that that's that's more me. Like call it arrogant, call it uppity, call it whatever. Like Japanese irons, I know they're made better. I know the quality is better, so I'm gonna be more excited about that than the set of irons made in freaking Bangladesh. Like, it doesn't do anything for me.

Joe

Yeah.

Aarik

So not that I'm I used to be really, really good at golf, but like not saying I'm super good, but like when I hit golf shots, I expect it to do something. Yeah, I get that. If I if I do it properly, I get that. And that doesn't happen, I'm like, that's not right. So I like eliminating variables.

Dan

Okay.

Aarik

The new set of irons, that's a bad golf shot. That guy. Yeah, that's true. My my new driver, bad golf shot, that guy. Well, that went too far right. That guy know what I mean. Like, yeah, like that's that's what I'm a big fan of, and that's what I try to do to tour players. Like, they want all those to be gone. Once you hit it good, once not that I'm comparing myself to them. Once you hit it good and do certain things, like it's it's on you, man. It's on you.

Dan

Yeah, there's there's like there's a couple of guys I play with that uh that at work, and they are um a nice way to say this is that they are 36 handicaps plus. Yeah. Yeah. Um, anyway, um, and like you said, you know, once you reach like a certain certain skill level, you kind of you know your golf swing, you know what to expect. Yeah. There's a couple of times where I hit a couple of shots and I still hit the green, but I had either dropped the club or kind of turned in disgust. And they were like, I don't understand how you hate that. You hit the green. And I try to tell them all the time, like, I know that that seems like a good shot, and I probably shouldn't be bitching about it. I go, but once you reach a certain skill level, that shot is not acceptable for the club that you had in your hand and for the yardage that you had. And I go, it's just it's just a thing. I go, I probably, you know, you know, I hopefully one day you'll understand. I go, but I go, but right now I go, it's just you know, that's just one of those things where a skilled player just says that's not acceptable. And they're just like, I don't understand how I don't understand how you could be bad at that.

Aarik

I was like, but it's all but it's all relative, right? Like, yeah, so like I was so excited to play golf with you guys at Rodin's wedding, and I wanted to do all that stuff, and noticed how to do it because I hadn't played golf in freaking six months. And I'm like, I don't want to play golf because I'm not gonna be able to do what I want to do, but screw it, man. Like, let's go have fun.

Joe

Yeah, yeah.

Aarik

But when you have the knowledge to know that you're not where you're supposed to be, but you've seen it as opposed to the other guys, you're like, Well, it should do this. Well, I mean, you've never broken 200 in your life, yeah. Like 200, the only bullet. Who are you to say, like, what's good or bad? Yeah, right? So these people come in to get fit and like I should do this, and I should do this, and I'm like, cool. Actual stat, Tiger Woods with a sandwich in his hand, misses the green one out of every five times. And he's Tiger Woods, and he's an alien. So stop telling me that your seven iron should go to six feet every time. Like, you're not good. Yeah, you're not like it's not a thing, man. It's literally not a thing.

Joe

I mean, I was I was putting I was putting the kids to bed with Katie, and I mean, I've been struggling a lot lately because I can't play golf as much as I want to nowadays. And you know, I've been not playing well, like, but the standards, right? Like, I know I know the shots that I've hit, you know, and I I know I'm capable of hitting those shots, but like, fuck, dude. But I'm not out there all the time, you know. Expectations lower your expectations and everything, and it's still trying to make it fun, but like I know what I'm capable of, but I'm not capable of it anymore. And it's it's taking uh, you know, it's taking a little bit of a toll occasionally. Um, but it's like you need to humble yourself and understand what's actually happening, like you don't have time for the game like you used to.

Aarik

Yeah, but the number one killer of golf for a men is ego and pride. It's a number one killer.

Joe

Fucking ego, yeah. Ego all day. Sorry, I'm going to plug my phone in.

Aarik

I'm on the way to plug my phone in.

Joe

We're at we're at two hours and eight minutes. I love it.

Aarik

Oh my god. Once I get once I get plugged in, I'm solid.

Joe

Aarik

I have a question. What's the longest podcast ever?

Joe

Well, we didn't know.

Dan

Didn't we do two and a half with Sam?

Joe

We did a long one with Sam, yeah. There's probably it might have been 240, honestly. I don't know. You're trying to break a record or something?

Aarik

Yeah, let's start asking like actual like golf questions so I can so I can make this happen for everybody.

Joe

Just go off, Greenley. Just go off.

Aarik

I can answer all the questions. I need to.

Joe

Yeah, guys. Anybody who has golf questions? Golf club questions, golf course questions.

4 Irons vs. 7 Woods & Dropping the Ego

Aarik

How about this? I'll start.

Joe

I'll start. Okay. Yeah.

Aarik

Yeah, interview us for once. Fuck. Four irons versus seven woods. I played, I played a charity event, and I had 222 of par five overwater. And I'm like, it's four iron, it's no big deal. The problem is I set my four iron down and I looked at and I said, Man, I haven't hit that hooker in like a month and a half. And I barely got it over the water and didn't turn. The green, whatever. I'm like, I'm done. So for fun, build a seven wood, hit it out of rough, hit it on the fairway, and it goes to it, it takes off like a lob wedge. It still covers, it covers a yardage, you hit it high, you can hit it 15 yards further, hit it 10 yards shorter, and it comes out like a six-iron. I was like, why did I not have a seven before? Right? Like when I was actually playing tournament golf and had speed, I could never hit a four-iron that high and land that soft, ever. Ego. Ever. Ego. Ego and pride. Number one killer in men's golf, ego and pride. And the guys I work with, they're like, we don't need this, blah blah blah. I'm like, freaking Tommy Fleetwood and Dustin Johnson has a nine wood and they hit it 80 yards past you. Yeah. What what are we doing?

Dan

My whole thing with Seven Woods for me is that they always look shut and there's a lot of club face. And I don't like it.

Aarik

Not if I build it.

Dan

Not if I build it. I mean, mine doesn't look like that. I'm sure you're right, but that's just, I mean, the few times I have hit the seven wood, it's just so much easier. And you can literally, you can literally hit it as high as a wedge. Thousand percent. But yeah, it's just I haven't really found one yet that just looks good to me. And I have to be 100% in love with what I'm looking at.

Aarik

There's nothing wrong with that. What uh what woods are you hitting? I mean, sorry, what shafts are you hitting?

Dan

Um, I have X100, uh dynamic old X-100s right now. In your woods. Oh, in the woods I have the link. I just have a driver five wood right now. Shout out UST Mamiya. Yeah, the link shafts are fucking awesome.

Aarik

The new power cores or the old ones?

Dan

The new ones.

Aarik

It's funny. I try to get you respectfully, I try to get you freaking queer bags to hit that stuff when I was there and you wouldn't do it.

Dan

I know it, but I was left with no choice. I was left with no choice on our last golf trip. I switched into I got a uh six TX white in a flat cog and game changer.

Aarik

Good, super good.

Dan

I love that chef.

Aarik

So good, man.

Dan

That's good to hear. But yeah, I and I don't have a seven wood. I still have the I just have three three iron through pitching witch. But I want to ditch the three. I don't really play it much. I don't I hardly ever hit it.

Joe

No, fair. I probably need the seven wood, but how sick does a four iron look? You know what I mean? No, no, no. Like sometimes you want sometimes you're gonna look cooler than you are, you know what I mean? That's me. Well, Scotty Scheffler doesn't have either, and he's got utility ones, so I mean he looks like a nerd, honestly, but I look pretty cool when I try and hit my at least. He's a nerd sitting on a beach where nobody can afford to go to because he's got so much money. It's all ego. You're cu you're 100% correct. And like, you know, I like looking at what I like looking at, and you know, it's on me.

Aarik

That's on my wrong like I mean, but that's the that's kind of the catch though, right?

Joe

Like but also I don't care, I don't care what I shoot. I I could care, like I'm just that's what I was gonna say, you know what I mean?

Aarik

Like I could I could spear math at people all day long, but if you don't like what you're looking at, you're not gonna hit it well, right? So we have to beat on that bridge, and if you're not shooting for score or whatever, like who cares, man? Yeah, play what you like, play what you like, looks, feels absolutely like embrace how you are and just go beat it around and go drink beer, man. Who cares? Like, literally, who cares?

Joe

Yeah, it's true. We do have a question here from Palmetto again. Uh, do they do the same with balls as they do with shafts for the pros? Uh Palmetto, yes, absolutely do 100%. I saw double dots, some left double dots pictures this past weekend.

Pro V1 Left Dot & Finding the Right Golf Ball

Aarik

I saw some. Oh, this is gonna get me. Well, it's not gonna get me in trouble because nobody cares, but excuse me. Yeah, no, you're fine. So I play title as left dot. So lower launching, lower royalty guys, royalty, dude. Calm down. It's a lower launching, lower spinning Pro V1 X. Cam Young plays the double left dot, which is actually lower launching, lower spinning. And per what I was told, it's actually a slower golf ball. But it spins solo, it kind of makes up for it, right? Kind of like yeah, yeah, it levels out, but yeah, there are double left dot, left dot, left dashes available. There's a pro v1x star, there's a pro-v1x plus that Billy Horshow plays. Um on tour when I worked for Taylor Made, we actually had a like a sheet that was laminated, and that was when the lethal golf ball was out. So they all said lethal, but they had dots and arrows. So I knew if it was Sergio's ball or DJ's ball or whatever to make sure we gave the right golf ball to the right person. So there are infinite thousands, yeah, thousands that infinite variations of golf balls. So um the nicest way to say it, the closest you can get from retail golf balls to tour golf balls would be titless. Yeah, tilus or bridgestone would be the closest you can get from off the shelf to what a player plays would be with obviously there's exceptions, but but tiless and bridgestone would be the closest you can get. Dare I say it, the best covers in the game, too.

Joe

What tiles and bridgestone, the best covers in the game, they don't get beat up as easy.

Aarik

Well, Bridgetone is easy because it's a rubber company and they have patents, yeah. They make tires, bro. Of course. And that's and they're good. But that's Shrixon. So Shrixon, that's Subatomo rubber in Japan. So they own a rubber company, so they have patents. So just what is my golf ball?

Joe

I played, I played calaways during Dunlop. I played Callaways on my last tournament during uh the tournament. Where did we play? I can't even remember.

Dan

Aliante, was it? Or Sienna? No, we didn't.

Joe

No, not we played a royal. We played beat up auto. Auto beat up. Like I played the the ball worked really good. Uh Chrome Soft XLS. They they played very well, but that fucking the low spin ball? That's a rock.

Aarik

You're literally hitting a boulder.

Joe

I played really well, but my point is not the boulder or the ball, it's the cover. No, not boulder. No, it's you know, you can't get a shit down boulder creek, but the cover sucks. Yeah. I did not so yeah, Vic, Vic, you know, I play yellows, yellow ball gang, but I have YBG all day, but I only have Bridge Stones. I haven't been buying balls since I've been on Whatnot for like a year, so I've been buying, I've been playing any anything I buy in Whatnot. Uh the only yellows I have on uh are bridge stones, and they haven't been working for me. I love Title is Pro V1X yellows, but the covers last and bridge stones last, but they just haven't been they haven't been flying for me, they haven't been playing very well. But I played the Chromosoft LS Trash cover.

Aarik

Yeah, I can't wait to get the new logo. So one of the best golf best golf balls ever made. Oh, look at the company man right here. That's when Gary Woodland was a Callaway guy, and there was a golf ball that was a Chrome Soft Plus Plus. Yes, that bottle fire. That golf ball, hands down, best golf ball I've ever played. Next to the tiles probably one left dot. Best golf ball I've ever played. Like best combination of field and flight and spin and blah blah blah. Like it it checked all the boxes, and it didn't matter if your ball speed was 190 or 50, it covered the boxes.

Joe

Up I was playing with an old Dunlop blue dot I found in a stream today. It had three birdies on the front. This is what we always go back to play what works for you. Always thousand percent because just because green, just because Eric's best ball he's ever played, why do you single me out or me? Me, I don't like the cover, I don't like the cover on that Chrome soft. It play what works best for you. That's what it all comes down to. We'll never stir you wrong, we'll just tell you play what works best for you, but you gotta try the shit out, and you're gonna figure it out. Correct. That's correct. You gotta put the time in to figure it out, correct? And the more time you put in to figure it out, the more you will learn, and the more you'll find out, and it'll be quicker to decide in the long run. Agreed. Thousand percent.

Aarik

Dan, did you just yawn?

Dan

I did.

Joe

He's tired. Summerly, dude, I'm the old one.

Dan

Dude, your boy's working a lot. I'm putting in about 90 hours a week. Oh, yeah. I've had one day off since July 4th, and my next day off is not until July, July 31st.

Aarik

So respectfully, I'm sorry.

Dan

It's all good.

Aarik

It's all good because I'm older than you and I don't work that hard anymore.

Dan

Yeah, I know we're busy, but yeah, you caught me on it. I'm sorry. All good, brother. I haven't tried the new max flies yet. The max fly makes great balls, they really do.

Joe

I played the CGs for a little bit. Look right here. Look, I'll start.

Dan

I haven't played a max fly since the revolution ball came out.

Aarik

I've played the max fly since the A10.

Dan

Do you remember the Ballada Max Ltd?

Aarik

Yes. And the and you remember the Max the HT?

Dan

Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh, there goes Greenley. We lost him for the fifth time tonight.

Joe

Look at my look at my this ball right here. Max Fly. Matt. There it is. Matt phase. But look, look what it says on it. Clinic. Oh, and 2019. First time I broke 80. 79.

Dan

And that and is that you?

Joe

That's me. Yeah, it's my ball. I had to make a burning on the last hole to shoot 79. Max fly.

Dan

First time he broke an 80.

Joe

Tour CG. I was playing for a year. Broke 80.

Dan

Was that the was that the last time he broke 80? Ah boy. I'm just kidding. He still kept it, huh?

unknown

Yeah.

Dan

I would have put I would have lost that motherfucker the very next day.

Joe

It was a big deal. It was a big deal. I mean, that's a lot. That's something that most people will never do. Kirkland balls are awful, so spinny. No, they're not spinny. They fall out of the sky. That's the problem.

Dan

Kirkland is a big thing. At least the new ones.

Joe

The new ones. Fucking there we go. Who is user? Who is user FB5? Breaking 80 is a big milestone. I have not broke 70 yet, but I've shot 70.

Dan

You haven't shot in the 60s yet? No, I I think I shot my uh here. I'll show you the. I thought you shot under par. Oh, maybe you can still shoot under par and still be in the 70. Yeah, that's what it was. Okay.

Joe

Yeah. That's the scorecard. Five birdies on the front. Two birdies. Oh, dude. I went I went seven under through eleven. Holy smokes, that's crazy.

Dan

You were seven under through eleven holes?

Joe

That's what it looks like. Four. And you shot seventy? No, no.

Dan

Oh, I was gonna be like, I was six under.

Joe

Six under. No, he he no five under through eleven. And I shot a user says I'm gonna go. Oh, appreciate you.

Dan

Shout out to Nebraska. Great golf. Seven minute two time intervals.

Joe

Yeah, Chimera. Oh, this will say an U Chimera. Yeah, it's super easy golf course for sure.

Dan

Dan, what ball do you play? I play a Pro V1 X.

Joe

All right. This guy is just double screening.

Aarik

Did I do something wrong? Can you hear me actually this time?

Joe

Yeah, we can't. Can you hear me?

Aarik

Hey oh, yes, I can.

Joe

Alright, I gotta kick. Yes. There we go.

Aarik

Hey, there he is, and we're back.

Joe

Yeah, I'm just chimery. But hey, I shot on a bot.

Aarik

I shot it under a par.

Joe

I don't care where it was. I did it.

Aarik

Now I'm irritated because I can hear Dan and not Joe. So now I'm pissed off again.

Dan

Oh fuck.

Aarik

To all was that movie? To all passtivity. What is that? When he said he was pissed off to all passivity, I think it was Cat Williams.

Dan

Oh, I don't know if I saw that one.

Aarik

Fuck you, Greenley. Like, I know Joe's talking, I can't hear it.

Dan

He said, fuck you. He did. He totally did.

Aarik

I'm gonna hit the red button. Let me hit the red button before you give away the other golf balls. Give me like 27 seconds.

Joe

Gotcha. Go ahead. Leave though. Leave. Don't just hang. All right. Hey Greenley, fuck you. Love that guy. Guys, we're still giving away another dozen of TP5s. And I think Greenley's going for the longest running episode to date.

Dan

He wants to.

Joe

Yeah, he wants to. You guys can subscribe to the podcast. Thank you for being here. Uh, we're here every single Tuesday night, 7 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Uh, we don't have our other two co-hosts. Let's go add to stage. Thank you for being here. Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Yes, I can hear you. I can hear you. You can oh, you said it three times. Love it. That's awesome.

Dan

And if you're if you've been with us since the start of this episode, thanks for hanging out. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks for hanging out. We know we know you could be any place else, but we appreciate you here. Yeah, yeah.

Joe

Joe, I got a clean e-boys for you. Oh, you got a clean e-boys. I it's trademarked now. If FYI.

Dan

Yeah, you can't say that without paying Joe.

Joe

What's that? New level? Is that an RSI?

Dan

Yep. Tailor made. That's super is that a three iron or a two iron? You take that out of your bag.

Aarik

Four.

Dan

Oh.

Aarik

I replaced the uh Rory four iron with it. And then since Rory started running his mouth, I'm out on Rory. So those irons gone, I'm getting the Japanese ones. So risky. What are you gonna do with those ironies? The Rory ones? Yeah. So the guy who paid for the P8CBs is getting the Rory's. Oh to me it's respectful.

Dan

I get it.

Aarik

It's the right thing to do.

Dan

Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely correct.

Aarik

And if Rory has a problem, come find me. Because the funny part is the dude's listed at 6'10. I go, if he's 6'10, I'm I'm sorry. He's listed at 5'10. I go, if you're 5'10, I'm 6'5.

Joe

Yeah, no, Rory's not 5'10. No shot at that.

Aarik

There's no and you are a golfer. You don't have the background, like freaking stop trying to be a gangster. I will fucking beat the brakes off of you. Like, calm down.

Dan

Uh everybody's a gangster until it's time to be a gangster.

Joe

What I what I that's why I love golfers, so bring it. Are you guys searching for anything? I'm searching for four through seven Nike VR combo. Like basically brand new cleany boys. Dude, just text me. I can find all this stuff at work tomorrow. Clean, cleanly boys, cleany boys. What do you understand? I'm trying to, I'm trying to build an old school set. Like a old school Nike set. Yeah, like uh, yeah, basically, yeah. Well, I got eight nine pitch in plastic. Matt put the shafts on them. Custom feral boys. Always got a good custom ferrows on her. Um, super gay. Cool.

Dan

Dallas Golf Company. They have they have the five irons on his on his show.

Aarik

Yeah, those are my buddies. Super gay. So, anyways, I'm listening. Yeah, they're all gay.

Joe

They're out there, dude. Dallas Golfco, they're selling. They're selling.

Aarik

I no, I know. And the funny part is I told my owner that we need to whatnot channel, and he was like, We're not doing that. And somebody walked up to me like two weeks ago, hey, we're starting to whatnot channel.

Joe

I'm like, Oh, yeah. I told y'all. I told y'all.

Aarik

So I'm not smart, so whatever.

Joe

But no, I want I want a four through seven, like Cleany Boys, Nike VR combo, irons.

Dan

Somebody's got them, somebody's got Cleany Boys three through pitch, uh, MB pitching wedge through seven and cavity back six through three on the marketplace for like 350. Oh, wow. Yeah. They're cleany boys.

Aarik

Jojo, you could crut, you could have crushed Tor issue Vokie Wedges SM9 raw. Where? I'm telling you right now.

Dan

Okay.

Aarik

Tor stamped 46, 50, 54, 58, 62. I could have charged you 30 bucks a wedge for it. Why aren't you texting me, dog? Because you have my phone number too. It goes both ways.

Joe

I'm I'm gonna call it I'm gonna text you. I got an Etsy gift card. It's worth 70 bucks. Uh you can have it for 60. The hell am I supposed to do with it? I can't get Etsy.

Dan

You know, you should text me, bro. Text me.

Aarik

So here's the funny part. We deal in golf clubs. I'm doing like this. We deal in golf clubs. What the fuck dealing Etsy? Not the same thing.

Dan

Head covers.

Aarik

I don't know what you got. Because right now you're doing like potato tomato.

Joe

Hey, I told you, bro. Let me know when you got something when you got a deal. I'm here for you. Okay.

unknown

Okay.

Joe

Do you guys remember the I don't get golf club reasons?

Aarik

Raw chicken in Phoenix? What?

Joe

No, no. If it's good chicken, maybe.

Aarik

Dude, stop. Joe, stop. It lets you know, like that basically, somewhere in my DNA, I'm an alien.

Joe

Yeah, I think too occasionally.

Dan

What was the black Nike? What is the black Nike that Brooks has? Is that a Vaporfly?

Aarik

Uh that is yes, that is Vaporfly. No, Vaporfly and Vaporfly Pro. The Pro is just a smaller version of the Vaporfly.

Dan

Okay. And he has he still rocks with that three iron, right?

Aarik

Him and Fino, yes, sir.

Dan

I want to find one of those. Those are hard to find. Okay. If you can find if you can see get your eyes on those things, let me know.

Joe

Oh, Kevin Stratton's in the house. What up, Kevin? How you living, homie?

Aarik

I mean, I don't want to be that guy, but I know you're gonna be that guy, but but you got master's tickets, so I mean, what? Huh? What do we talk about?

Dan

Huh? Yeah. So about that vaporfly pro.

Aarik

It sounds like um no, I'll look tomorrow. No, I'll look tomorrow, and if I'll look tomorrow.

Dan

Okay, cool. Yeah, to look forward to. I've always wanted one.

Joe

I mean, what's the what is the website for all these guys? What is the website? I mean you're basically the second swing club binder. Right. So we don't say second swing because they're douchebags. So well, that's what I'm saying.

Aarik

You're the better version. Much better. Like hierarchy.

Joe

I was just like royalty. Handing it to you on a platter, bro. Just you say it.

Aarik

Better version, hierarchy. We do not reap people off. The trade-in values are easily double at clubfindersgolf.com, not second swing. We're not worried about them. And if any of them have a problem, they know where I work. They can come see me.

Dan

Come see me. Big trust. I thought it's not your problem, though.

Aarik

I didn't. I mean, just again, gotta get everybody on the same page. Just go back up and solid us. Like, it's funny to me that like people like forget how I am.

Joe

Who is you? Look, look at this. User 5B, 5 up, hanging out with us for a long time. Loud, that's true. I went to Scottsdale's second swing store. Employees were D-bags.

Aarik

Yeah, I could have told you that.

Dan

We were there at that same store.

Aarik

Homie, save the trip.

Dan

I didn't know I didn't have any bad experience at all.

Aarik

Homie, save the trip, which now you know. I apologize. Freaking just go to the talk and stick casino and have a blast. It's all good. The White Castle's across the highway. They do spring training across the highway. It's a great time.

Dan

White castle.

Aarik

Oh, yeah. Oh yeah. There's a white castle.

Dan

I've had White Castle one time, and it's by the Thomas and Mac. Never again.

Aarik

No, it's different. Trash. Come with me to Chicago where it is. You'll be okay.

Dan

The meat and the bun had all like just got into like a saga mush.

Aarik

Yeah, like melted grease together, right? Is that fair?

Dan

Yeah, it was like grease bottom and then like shitty onions and then one slider bun that was somewhat fresh.

Aarik

No, I got you. It was trash. From Chicago, is it?

Dan

All right.

Aarik

Use it to it. Even the one on Fremont. Well, they no, no, they closed the one on the strip. The one on Fremont's open.

Joe

Yeah, we were they closed the one next to Diddy's. Yeah. Yeah. Honestly, I mean, you can just grab the the frozen ones and be fine. Like it's the same shit. It is not.

Dan

Question for y'all. I got some mirror TC201s. I just upgraded to the TC202s. Do y'all keep alt sets? I never have. Uh it just depends. I usually keep them for a while, but then I end up by trading them in for something instead of collecting dust. Might as well get some kind of value out of them.

Aarik

Uh my two cents is I have nothing. I I I legit have what I play. My friends take everything that I have, or I mail it to somebody. I have extra nothing. Me sitting in that video with that four iron, that's a freaking unicorn.

Joe

I was as boring as that is. I want new irons, but I'm I I feel like I'm gonna keep those Mizunos forever.

Aarik

What irons do you want?

Joe

National customs. National customs, artisans, uh new levels. I don't know.

Dan

Joe wants to overpay.

Aarik

Here's the here's the weird thing.

Joe

I want it. Yes, of course. Joe, but I want to I want to go down to Artisan and get fit. I'm an artisan guy.

Aarik

I know him. Well, what are you doing? Text me. Use your so for starters. Hold on, let me get my finger. I need you to take your attitude and turn it down. Not my problem, though. Not my problem. It is your problem because it's your problem. So I can help you get in that door. I mean, not that you need because you don't need me. You don't need me. You do need me. I need you so badly. I wish I had that recorded. So it's recorded. We're on a podcast, bro. Like, you don't need me to get in the door, but no, I know.

Joe

No, I just I gotta fly down there though, but yeah, I'm doing that one day. Yeah, freaking none of you queer bags will come see me.

Dan

Shit.

Chicago Golf Club History & Why Eric Won't Go to Bandon Dunes

Dan

So we got we got it, we got a uh statement here, Eric. I know I can't really says from user fb5up 60q5U. Eric, I'm playing cantigny, arrowhead, shepherd's crook, and schomburg.

Joe

You've said in English, he's going to Chicago with Chicago.

Aarik

Um uh Dano, can you please just give me one more time? I'm sorry. I'll try to like zoom in on my phone.

Joe

No, he's he's gonna play Cantigny, Arrowhead, Shepherd's Croc, and in Schomburg. It's outside of Chicago.

Dan

Shepherd's crook. Oh, Schomburg. So he said he's from Chicago.

Joe

It's you hit up Pertillos, I could tell you that much.

Aarik

Well, Pertillo's there is different than it is here because it's terrible. That's true. Yeah, Pertillo's is so apparently either I am calling on his juice.

Joe

Let's go. You said you were from Chicago.

Aarik

No, it's okay. Because I'm about to answer it. So either I am too poor to understand those golf courses, or I am too elite and I don't understand the gray area. Because I've never heard of any of those golf courses ever. Because what the places I would tell you to play are none of those.

Joe

Oh my gosh.

Dan

I love Eric so much.

Aarik

That's an honest.

Dan

I want to know who this user is, man. I want to know. Yeah, I know that. What's your what's your name, you say? You don't have to say, you know what's gonna really piss me off?

Aarik

It's probably gonna be my cousin.

Dan

I did say they're all top 25 golf courses per golf week. Top 25 public or in the state.

Joe

Hey, Palmetto, Palmetto, thank you, bro. I appreciate you, man. Brent. Okay, the homie. Let's go. Hold on. What he said, Brent. Top 25. I'm in the state.

Dan

Like, freaking state's big, dude. Like public, yeah. I kind of figured public, yeah.

Aarik

And like my problem is at some point in Vegas, somebody's like, sunrise is the greatest golf course ever. Like, what are we doing?

Joe

That's true. Yeah, it's all subjective for sure.

Dan

Correct. I'm gonna relative up there. Thanks, Brett, for tuning in and hanging out with us, man. I'm gonna look at some of your golf courses right now because I haven't heard of any of those either. But then again, I'm I've never seen any of them either.

Aarik

Yeah, so me being born there, you know what? If you send me a message on Instagram, I will send you golf balls just for you doing what you did. Thank you.

Dan

There you go, Brett. I will tell you, send him a message, brother.

Aarik

I will thousand percent yourself.

Joe

You gotta unveil yourself, and then there it is. Cantick me. A thousand percent I'll do it. Cantick me sounds kind of familiar, honestly.

Dan

It sounds fancy. Well, but the catches in Illinois.

Aarik

Yeah, I know where Wheaton is, but it's like one of the problems is like they had a problem with the live play in Bowlingbrook. So my cousin lives 15 million 15 minutes from Bowlingbrook, where they play the live of it. Well, you can't play a golf tournament there. Well, the the green fee is $80, it's not expensive. Like we play bowling all the time. I'm from Chicago, too.

Dan

We play Cog Hill, Cog Hill is the Chicago Golf Club.

Joe

Yeah, Chicago Golf Club. Oh, I would kill I would kill to play golf club. Schomburg is oh there's scared you freaking rap Alvin and the Chipmunks. I thought about Coghill. Oh, he thought about Coghill. Dude, go play Cog Hill at Chicago Golf Club.

Dan

Coghill. Isn't like Rich Harvest Farms up there too? I think maybe I'm smoking. Yeah.

Joe

Maybe I'm I mean, I would I would I would probably do anything to a Chicago Golf Club.

Dan

Seriously, I would do some questionable shit.

Joe

Yeah, for sure, dude.

Dan

Rich Harvest Farms, yeah, it's right there too.

Joe

Oh, Kevin's in here. Yeah, he said yes, yeah. Bowling Brook. I've heard of Bowling Brook. Chicago's littered. It's littered.

Dan

So much good courses, and then you just go up the road and you're in fucking Wisconsin up there.

Joe

Just nice. He said that South Side, though. He wants to play on the north side. Gary.

Dan

South side is that uh that's Chicago White Sox side.

Joe

Yeah. Yeah. Wisconsin golf is better. Yes. So I got to play Chicago Golf Club. Oh, you bitch.

Aarik

Did you? I got the ball mark. I got whatever. So when I was a uh when I worked on tour, uh one of the guys I was a member with at TBC Craig Ranch, hey, I'm going back home, go visit my cousin, blah blah whatever.

Joe

Hit Portillos, yeah. I'm gonna hit Portillos.

Aarik

What are you gonna do? I'm like, dude, we just play Cog Hill or whatever. And one of my what do you call it? Like the mutual friend. Well, he's a member at Chicago Golf Club. We can play golf there. I'm like, yeah, dude, nobody can't set it up. I'm in the parking lot. Me being me, I'm the first one there, like, because I'm nervous or whatever. This is when I loved golf. Damn, you were nervous? Whoa. Go in the pro shop. Guy's not there. So I walk out of the pro shop, grab my phone. I made sure I was outside of the building. As soon as I did this, somebody tapped me on my shoulder. You want to use your phone? Go in the parking lot. I'm like, hey man, like I'm not trying to cause problems. Like, I'm waiting on the guy who's bringing us here. And he goes, it was super nice. No problem, just go in the parking lot. I said, Absolutely. So I walked to the parking lot, the guy shows up. And it is a very, they want to bulldoze the pool when I was there. They don't like. If you can walk, you walk the golf course, you play golf. Every caddy, all that money goes to that Joe, that Dan, like you go to college. That's what they do. And so scholarship. Yeah, everybody gets a scholarship. Like, if you're there, you go, whatever. So you play golf. It looks like it looks like what a US Open looks like on TV. Like it looks like Sleepy Hollow on TV in New York. So rounds over. You walk into the building. This guy is troll armed at first. You do like this. Hat comes off. You will not be told to take your hat off. Otherwise, you will not be in that building. They're all Filipino. They're all relatives of the descendants of when that clip started. Everybody in that building. Like it's it's easily one of the coolest things I've ever seen and made a part of. Ever. That's so cool, man.

Joe

Okay. So I I gotta address on real time.

Dan

Chicago golf club looks mid.

Joe

Looks mid. Okay, so he said, so user FB5 said Chicago Golf Club looks mid. And he said, no trees, no water. He's not trolling completely flat. Yeah.

Aarik

Is there anything wrong with any of that? Nope. And if you're a 15 handicap with everything he just said, I will say, in all honesty, he was shoot 125.

Joe

Here's one of the things that I will say about that is like golf course architecture. That's Seth Rayner. Absolute legend, right? Legend, legend, legend.

Dan

Yeah.

Joe

And then you know, there's people that love it, there's people that don't like it. But that's okay. And that's okay. It's not my problem. You know what I mean? It's not but it's not my problem, it's not your problem. But I I mean people have different things that they like about a golf course. So user, good for you, but that's a legendary stop. That's a legendary golf course architect. Square greens, template holes, banger, banger, bangers. But if if you don't like that, then good for you.

Aarik

You know, not my problem. Oldest golf course in America, no big deal.

Joe

18. No, is it 1819 or 1918?

Aarik

I feel like that's it's on the ball marker. It's at work.

Joe

I don't remember. I think it's 1819. Yeah, I think it's it's so is my first guess. Sick. Killing it.

Aarik

Yeah, and that's okay. You don't have to like that's okay. I love desert golf.

Dan

1892. 1892.

Aarik

I love desert golf. I love you suck. I love I love A to B golf. Right? Just what it is. So yeah, everybody likes different shit, man.

Dan

Everybody likes different shit. You like what you like.

Aarik

Yeah. Yeah. I like I can't stand Florida golf. I don't like it. But that's okay.

Dan

Is it the golf or is the fact that you're sweating non-stop?

Aarik

Yeah. Humid as fuck. Same, same.

Dan

Okay, that's true.

Aarik

Yeah. Freaking 80% humidity every day. When it's freaking 65, it's 90% humidity. It's just a normal day. Oh humidity. Thank you.

Joe

I hate residential golf courses. Me too. Yeah. Let's be honest. Stop hitting it sideways. No, I don't like golf courses with houses on it. But you know, here's what I go back to.

Dan

Pebble's got houses on it.

Joe

Yeah. I mean, this is what I go back to. Do you do you enjoy playing golf and being out there with your homies? Or do you just enjoy the fact of collecting chips?

Aarik

What do you mean, chips?

Joe

So I answer properly. Crossing or crossing off a golf course. Like you're collecting experiences.

Aarik

So the me collecting never crosses my mind.

Joe

Yeah.

Aarik

What that never crosses my mind. Like me getting to play golf with Dan in Phoenix was fun to me and we rode together. Like that's exciting to me.

Joe

It doesn't matter if we're in Phoenix or in Vegas or I didn't give a chance to get so would you so would you say, Greenley, is it about is it's about the moments shared with homies? It's about the moments. Absolutely.

Aarik

Yeah, I give a damn where it is. Yeah, I don't care either. But here's the catch, Mr. Soul Golfer. I do like that ex that experience will never happen at Bandon Dudes. I'm not going. I'm not going. It's not my thing. Yeah, you're you'll why wouldn't you go? I'm not going back to stream. Dan, don't get so offended. Calm down. No, I'm not offended.

Dan

I just need to know. I need to know your reasoning, your logic.

Aarik

I'm never going back to stream song.

Joe

I'm never like it's it's not my thing. Stream song is very expensive. No, Bandon is completely different than Stream Song. You didn't like Bandon at all.

Aarik

I have no desire. I have no desire to go.

Joe

That's insane. That's insane.

Aarik

Like, all jokes aside, like all jokes.

Joe

Bandon is both of you.

Aarik

I don't, I don't disagree. Both of you could pay my way right now and be like, I would tell you, save your money. I'm not going. It's not my it's not there's nothing about it that appeals to me. This guy's he's just trying to start a fire, dude.

Dan

It doesn't sound like it doesn't sound like it wants to go to the masters.

Aarik

So I've never been. Like, why change now? I'm not trying to start a fire. You're a soul golfer. You can't say that. You don't tell me how I am.

Joe

You know where soul author was born at bandit. That's where it was born.

Dan

Eric, I honestly feel if you went to if you went with us to bandit and we played trails, you're you're you're you might guarantee you might smile and be like, I'm glad I did this. Thanks, guys.

Aarik

Yeah. Did you say it might smile? I don't like that.

Dan

It's not fair. Yeah, it's true. You might smile and be like, you know what, guys? Thank you for thank you for thank you for doing this with me.

Aarik

This is this is no, it's just it's not my thing. What's not your thing?

Joe

What are you talking about? What's not your thing?

Aarik

I was very grateful. I thought it was very fun to go to band uh not banded, I'm sorry. For we went to Michigan. Very different, very different. That is that's the only golf trip I've ever been on my entire life.

Dan

You hated it?

Joe

Yeah, I go more.

Aarik

I enjoyed it.

Dan

Did you control it?

Joe

User okay.

Dan

Did you play it? Did you play the loop and forest dunes?

Aarik

Yes.

Dan

What'd you think of the loop?

Aarik

It was funny because we played Orchard Lake, then we played Forest Dunes, then we played the Loop back and forth. And Rhino goes, I need you to try. Like, that's when I was actually playing golf. Like, I don't want to try, dude. I want to freaking smoke weed and get drunk. Like, that's all I really care about doing.

Joe

Yeah, yeah.

Aarik

Do it in a forest on a trail. What the fuck? He made me try, and like I won the thing, and like it was. I don't, I don't, I don't want the energy, if that makes sense. Like, I give Joe a hard time about being a soul golfer.

Dan

Oh fuck. Damn. Alvin, Simon, Theodore. Yep, chipmunks. Chipmunks. Yeah, chipmunks.

Joe

Texas Wi-Fi sucks. Seriously. I play, I played, I played loop and forest dunes. I would love to play the loop uh last summer. I want to go back to the book. When he joins back, when he joins back, I want to go back to this because I think use I think man, I want to know who user F564321 is.

Dan

He said his name is Brett.

Joe

It's not Papa Bear Clubworks. There's no shot.

Dan

No. Brett, do you live here in Vegas?

Joe

When I'm on a course, I want to feel detached from society. There you go. Okay.

Dan

So four students is in ridiculous condition. Yep. Four students is great. Tom Dote.

Joe

Tom Dote. Tom Dote. I live in Green Valley Ranch. Who the fuck is Brett? Dude. Can you just say your name? Do we know you? Brett. Are you in VGN? At least give us that. But this is the comment I want to go back to. There he is. I don't know you guys in real life. Okay. Well, okay. So Greenley. This is everything. I think I think user dash F B 5UP 6EQ 5U summed it up. So, and this is one of the reasons why I think you would love trails. And it's something you were saying. When I'm on the course, I want to feel detached from society, which is what you were saying, right? Fair, I mean exactly what you said to the team. Guarantee fair.

Dan

Yeah, exactly. Yes, he does. Yes, he does, Brad.

Aarik

I get it. I get to tell, I get to ask you, then tell me. No, I'm just saying. I'm just saying.

Joe

I am kind of like upset at you that you would not go to I you would not go to Banded Dunes because one of the greatest experiences, best walks and golf. Oh motherfucker, dude. This guy.

Dan

Oh my god.

Joe

Just YouTube Rando who this stream on dude. I love it, dude. That's so sick. Thank you. We're here. User, we're here every single Tuesday at 7 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. And uh this one is uh Rando. This is uh dad's not home. We typically don't go this week.

Dan

We usually don't we don't go for three hours. We usually do about an hour.

Joe

So and we're also all based in Vegas, so

Dan

We're getting three episodes in one on this one. Yeah. Only because dad's not here.

Joe

Yeah, dad's not here. It's ours.

Dan

Party while dad's gone.

Joe

Yeah. Wi-Fi router is beating up for sure all day. I'm I'm dude. I'm kind of bummed that Eric said he wouldn't go to Bannon. Dude, I think we can get him to go. He would go. He would for sure go.

Dan

Yeah. Hey, so Joe and I talked while you were gone, and you're fucking going to Bandon.

Joe

Yeah.

Dan

Yeah, no. Yeah, it's happening. I'm gonna go to fucking Texas. I'm not scared of you. I will kidnap your ass and take you to Oregon.

Joe

Anyway, before we go, before we go about it, I think so about that.

Aarik

I I respect your I respect your Cali. I respect your LA. No, no, you didn't want what are you going on? And what are you doing? I'm I'm answering what was projected. You didn't even hear the question. I didn't need to hear the question.

Joe

I'm responding to what I guarantee 100% fullheartedly that you would love to. Two body bags. You would love to try. I tried to leave you out, but you just wouldn't. That's it. That's that that was then that was the end of it. Go ahead.

Dan

Do we have any Reno recommendations? Um I think personally Reno doesn't have great courses. I could be wrong. Um, I do know Mantra is up there, but it's a private course. If you have some time, I would take take the drive over to the Tahoe area or truckee area and go play up there. It's a little bit pricey, I'm not gonna lie. Uh Old Greenwood, um Coyote Moon, um Grizzly Ranch. There's some great courses up there that are gonna range anywhere from 120 to about 300 bucks. Uh Edgewood, Tahoe is fantastic. Um, Incline Village is a good one. So I would stick with that area over Reno itself. Like I said, Reno doesn't have the best courses.

Joe

Oh shit. Holy smokes.

Dan

Don't worry, I have plenty of money on that. Yeah, yeah, that's shit. What a comment, dude.

Joe

What a comment. Oh, all right. I think we gotta kill. We're almost at three hours. Let's hit three hours at least. Green Lee, what are you doing? We gotta do the last giveaway of the balls, right? I know, yeah. We gotta do the last giveaway, Gibby.

Final TaylorMade TP5 Giveaway & Episode Wrap-Up

Joe

All right, we're gonna do the last givy. Probably probably guaranteed going to user fb5U three.

Dan

Yeah, Brett, you might get you might you might be getting yourself some golf balls right now.

Joe

We'll see. We're gonna do the last givy. You gotta wait for Green Lee to come back, but um, yeah, almost three hours.

Dan

Hang on.

Joe

Hang on before you go for a second. Hang on for a second.

Dan

We're gonna give away before you go, Brett, we're gonna give away a dozen TP5s, and if you win them, you kind of have to be present too in order to claim them. Yeah, and if you do win them, we'll get them sent out to you.

Joe

Oh, John Wharf is here. Shout out Jay Wharf. All right, there he is. Okay, Greenley, we're good. We gotta be done. Oh, this guy changed his hat. Shout out the Masters 2027. All right, we get we it didn't happen.

Aarik

It stopped working. Yeah, so I took the opportunity. Oh, I'm giving away that big sticker, Dino. I'm putting that in one of the boxes for somebody.

Dan

I just got a job. I was just given a new Stanley Cup at work from the NBA Summer League. This is gonna go right on it.

Joe

Heck yeah, leave a comment. We're gonna give away the last dozen balls. Um, I promise you I'm not cheating. Uh, I just don't know how to share the screen. Lando won the last one. I can film it. Okay, okay. There you go. On the tailor made the tailor-made player himself.

Aarik

Courtesy of Oh, should I put a Tailormade hat on? Is that better or what?

Joe

Oh, look at that. I promise And if you're just tuning in, I promise you, Jaw, you just won. Yep, Jaw, Jaw just won. John is the Wharf won. Yeah, I promise you. Nice.

Dan

I believe I have no reason to lie to me.

Joe

There you go. Shout out, Jaw. Huge supporter of the whatnot show since like day one. There it is. So whatever uh John the Wharf.

Aarik

He is going to send me both the winner's info. I will put those dozens. What do you mean, what? What? I'm telling them what's I gotta change my one second.

Joe

Uno Mas.

Aarik

Take your time. Maybe you waited on me, so it's only a character.

Dan

Oh, where did you get that hat, sir?

Aarik

Oh Tommy Armor.

Dan

Oh, Casamigos.

Aarik

Tommy Armor the Third. Yeah.

Joe

Very nice. Traceway. Alright. So we got Jaw. Are you ready, Joe? Alright. Yeah.

Aarik

It's uh what do they call it?

Joe

Uh so I gotta send you their address, right?

Aarik

Yeah, just so Joe's gonna send me your address. Um, you're gonna get a dozen of the newest uh TP5 to from Tailor Maid, and then in both boxes for each individual, you're gonna get stickers from Shout Out Trap Golf, Shout Out Hittin' Greens, Shout Out Chasing Daylight Podcast. Um you're gonna get all that stuff um in both of those dozens of golf balls.

Joe

So all right, so hey uh jaw, hit me on uh DM on whatnot again. I know I have your information somewhere, but hit me there. Who won the first one? I can't remember. Vic, good night, bro. I thought it was Lando.

Dan

Yeah, Lando Lando. Lando got the first one. Yeah, Brett. Um I've been to four stunts a couple times. I played in the uh duel events out there with my with my homie Trey, where you play the uh loop uh in reverse, red and black on the same day. Fun event.

Joe

I think Brett found his Vegas golf nerds, which is kind of cool.

Dan

Have a good one, guys. Thanks for tuning in.

Joe

There you guys. All right, yeah, I'm gonna show wherever I learned. Yeah, oh shit. Yes, sir. Arcadia, yes, he has. Yes, sir. Uh what was the thing to get there?

Dan

I did Arcadia. I did um courses up in Boyne, Traverse City, did American Dunes in Grand Haven. Michigan Golf is Michigan Golf is sick. Shadows, shepherds, shepherds something.

Aarik

Um, I need you guys to come to Chicago with me. Can you please guys come to Chicago? Fuck yeah, still play uh Chicago. Like respectfully, screw Texas, because you guys already know I don't want to be here. Yeah, let's go to Chicago, let's play Cog Hill, let me take you to all these places in Chicago.

Joe

You say you say it. We need babysitters, but let's go.

Dan

What's all this wee stuff?

Joe

Yeah, I don't need a babysitter.

Dan

I don't need a babysitter.

Joe

I know you guys don't. Chirac, yeah, dude. Did ever tell you the story? Where did you go? Yeah, we don't go there. I can go there, you guys can go there. So when me and my wife went, we went in 2014. She had never been to Chicago before. I had a friend there, uh, he was a music producer. He picked us up from the airport, and I was like, You guys are uh the best one. Um but anyway, no his name was Kanye, guys. Chill. His name was easy, don't worry about it. But uh O'Hare or Midway. Oh, we drove through whatever the one was on the east side, Midwest, mid midway. Midway is on the east side, right?

Aarik

Oh man, they're both on the same O'Hare's north, midway south.

Joe

It doesn't fucking matter, it's not a part of the story. Not my problem, yeah. Not my problem, he but he picked us up and he drove us through Chirac. And yeah, did you get shot?

Dan

No, where then you didn't go through Chirac, bro.

Joe

No, yeah, I people inflated. People inflate the story. There it is. Midway south. It was south. You're in west. Oh here is west. Ohare is not midway south. It's west.

Dan

There's no east in Chicago. There's a lake there, sir.

Aarik

So midway is right here. The east is Gary. Gary's O'Hare is right here. It's north and south. It's not east and west. Gary's in Indiana, which is that way. East. It's not even the same state. East. It's east, though. East. On the other side of Lake Michigan. Yeah. That's because it's a great lake.

Joe

Anyway, anyway. I went through east. Gary. I cannot wait to see you in a month. I can't wait. I'm gonna pull out my chopper on your ass, dude. I dare you.

Aarik

I dare you.

Dan

Chopper. Blow you down. Black, black, black, black, black.

Aarik

Choppa da, cho, chop, choppa stop. I dare you. Oh my goodness. Dad, relax. I got you. Relax. We did.

Joe

Bro, we're at three hours and six minutes. Crazy.

Aarik

Matt's. I just want to be the longest show.

Dan

We are.

Aarik

It is for sure the longest show.

Dan

We've made it.

Aarik

Okay. So if you need to give away stuff, I have tour response golf balls. I have the couple of times.

Dan

If you want to give something else away, guys can.

Aarik

But we got to finish. I have gin. I have rum. Um what else are we doing?

Joe

We need me to do. We need people to participate, though, not just Brett.

Aarik

So if you guys want to get I can't see any of the people, I can't interact with them, so I don't know.

Dan

We appreciate Brett for joining.

Aarik

We got you. Yeah.

Joe

And a Vegas rapper, dude. Let's go. I've autographs skateboards.

Dan

GVB. That's what I'm calling. Green Valley Brett.

Joe

No, they're Stratton. Shout out Kevin Stratton.

Dan

Didn't Kev ask a question about it not too long ago? I don't. I am not sure. I could have sworn you only asked a question, then we didn't answer it, maybe.

Joe

Maybe not. We only got 10 people up in this piece. I'm painting and listening. Shout out to Got Paint, the homie Dan.

Dan

Oh, right there. That's what it was. What cut what courses are next on y'all's list?

Joe

Rip the Got Paint dog.

Dan

What's next on our list?

Joe

What's next on? Yeah. Uh Sand Valley. Gotta get to Sand Valley.

Dan

Well, we're doing Bandon in January of 2027. And I don't know if you are listening, but we're going to Augusta in April 2027.

Aarik

Right. So there's not a we for that. So that's that's not a wee.

Dan

There's four tickets involved. There goes Eric. There is no we for you, Eric. Because you always keep blacking out. Oh, fucking Eric. Yeah, gamble stands probably in 2027 too. Well, I don't know. This whole master's trip's gonna really, gonna really probably throw a wrench in more traveling things. But yeah, I'm gonna do it because and I'm gonna overspend for sure. Oh bro. I'm probably never gonna go to fucking the masters again. So we're gonna have to think about like the attack. I know it. I already got some insight.

Joe

The entire course.

Dan

I've already got some insight from Matt. And he says he thinks that we should get there right when they open, get there at six. I guess it opens like at seven or seven thirty. Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

Dan

Go and get your gnome. Um he says it's one per person. He's like, just go get a gnome and then uh he said get your shopping done right away and then ship it home. Don't, don't yeah, like don't fucking put it in your backpack, I guess, or whatever. Pack it home.

Joe

Yeah, but we're gonna have to walk the entire we get, we're gonna have to walk the entire golf course.

Dan

Yeah, and that's my thing is like I don't want to buy a bunch of shit and carry around two thousand dollars worth of stuff. So I don't know. I don't know if I want to go shopping right away. I don't know what's best. No.

Joe

Holy smugs.

Dan

I think they are done with gnomes. Hey, that's cool. If they are, they are. If not, I'll get one. Hey, dude, I'll put it on, I'll put it back in. I'm probably gonna buy one of everything, literally.

Joe

No, I'm excited. Thank you for winning.

Dan

Hey, I was literally crying picking up. That's crazy, bro. I couldn't believe it, dude. I was like, does that say I my application was selected? Yeah, dude.

Joe

Hey, dude. Reaction season. All right, come on, Greenley. There you go.

Aarik

Working on it.

Joe

You have dial up. So's on sprint, dog.

Aarik

Can't wait to see y'all and punch you in the nuts.

Joe

Oh shit, gamble. Uh, I missed a lot of comments. Holy smokes. Gamble, yes. I'm starting to think user error. Yeah, maybe user error on Greenleaf for sure. Probably, most likely. I think it was dumb with gnomes. See, I missed all this shit.

Dan

Yeah, well.

Joe

Hey, it's not my problem, bro. Not my problem. All right. You ready, kill it? It's three hours and ten minutes.

Aarik

Eleven minutes. Did you did you pull the other? Did you pull the other winner?

Joe

Are we doing another one? Well, yeah, we got two. We got two here. I got I got Lando and I got Joff. Okay, I was just asking.

Aarik

You're gonna be mad at me, I'm just asking.

Joe

I'm just asking you, bro.

Aarik

Oh, I can't wait to see you guys. I can't wait for you to punch me in my face. It'll be a great sight. So there's no chance I punch you in the face. Oh well. Might give me a little throat tap. It's gonna look like a punch, but it's gonna be a hug. No, you might give it a little throat tap. Did a lot of martial arts for a lot of years.

Joe

I'm gonna be busy. I gotta watch the kids.

Aarik

You know what? My arm hurts. I can't go.

Dan

Can't take any punches today. I'm on daddy, baby. Oh, love it. Alright. Are we giving anything else away? You tell me. Are we gonna I got Plavia stuff? Wrap this up.

Joe

You guys want to do something else?

Dan

Aarik
