Hello everyone. This is Pastor Dean Thompson with the word of hope. The Canaanite woman's face Matthew chapter fifteen verses twenty one through twenty eight. Then Jesus went thence and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And behold a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David. My daughter is grievously vexed with the devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cried after after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the last sheep of the house of Israel. Then she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meat to take the children's bread, and to cost cast it to the dogs. And she said, Truth, Truth, Lord, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith. Be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. A Canaanite, Canaanite woman approached Jesus, crying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, son of David, my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon. Her use of Jewish titles showed her faith despite her far foreign background. Initially, Jesus didn't answer her. When the disciples asked him to send her away, he said, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. His mission had specific priorities. She knelt before him, saying, Lord, help me. And Jesus replied, It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs. The word dogs Kinnarion refers to house pets, not wild dogs, still challenging, but not as harsh. Her brilliant response, yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table. She didn't argue with his priorities, but asked for overflow of blessing. Overflow blessing. Jesus was amazed. Oh woman, great is your faith. Be it done for you as you desire. Her daughter was healed instantly. How do you respond when God seems to be silent or when his answers challenge you? Are you willing to persist in prayer? Even when the response isn't what you expected? What does humble persistence in prayer look like? Oh Lord, please give us a persistent faith that doesn't give up when you seem to be silent. Help us to accept your priorities while still believing in your compassion. Please increase our faith to receive overflow blessings. Amen. God bless you, brothers and sisters.
