Welcome to the April episode of the Godolphin Flying Start podcast, Leading to Success. This month’s hosts are first year trainees Orlaith Nangle (Ire) and Ben Triandafillou (Aus). In this Kentucky Derby and Oaks-themed episode, we discuss the purchase of the leading Derby contender Forte with bloodstock agent Jacob West, who works for the larger-than-life racehorse owner Mike Repole. Jacob also offers some words of advice for young people in the industry. Michael Banahan, Director of Bloodstock at Godolphin USA, was then quizzed about Godolphin’s duo of fillies aiming for the Oaks as well as an exciting colt to feature further down the Triple Crown trail. Finally, we check in with fellow first-year trainee David O’ Farrell (Ire) to get an update on what life has been like for the first-year trainees in the Bluegrass State recently.
