Meet Kat, Kat lives in Hamilton, New Zealand, Working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Kat is the eldest of 5 girls, that's right she has 4 younger sisters! Growing up in her family was interesting, her Dad was a Shepard and due to work requirements they shifted around a lot, from farm to farm wherever he was working at the time.
As a child Kat was sexually abused by her older cousin, which was a secret that she carried with her through childhood & teenage years, between carrying this secret & always being the new girl & getting bullied at school, Kat began to rebel, she turned to drugs, alcohol & sex to help her numb the pain. At one point Kat ended up in hospital on deaths door due to the way her body was suffering, this is when Kat realised she had to make some changes & that she did want to live... Tune in to this episode to hear how Kat went from nearly dying, to becoming a mental health nurse, impacting and changing peoples lives everyday! She is truly an inspiring woman, dedicated to her healing & growth
