Yeah, in the next five minutes we'll encourage you. My name is Eric, this is my friend, Heather Hi. And, by the way, at the end of the five minutes, if you need more encouragement, we would invite you to listen to WPER, and you can do that a number of ways. You can even download the WPER app. Yep, that's where you find Virginia's home for encouragement, WPER. Hey, be encouraged today If you're working on something. Progress is still progress, even though sometimes it feels really slow, like you're not getting there Right. I don't know about you, but I can kind of get discouraged.

Oh, easily or feel like nothing's happening and you are tempted to just throw in the towel, quit.

0:00:49 - Heather

Yeah, exactly To give up.

0:00:50 - Eric

Remember, even a small slow start or slow progress, you're still growing. You're still moving, it's still getting done.

0:00:59 - Heather

Those are steps in the right direction, and it is very easy to get overwhelmed when change doesn't happen quickly. So if you're trying to learn a new skill, or maybe trying to learn to incorporate more exercise or lose weight, or you've been praying about something, it's like if it doesn't happen within three days, we're like oh, what I'm?

0:01:17 - Eric

a failure.

0:01:17 - Heather

What is going on? I shouldn't even do this anymore.

0:01:19 - Eric

I think we live in a society where it's like you see overnight success or you hear about. There is no such thing as overnight success. Somebody's put in hard work, they put years into it, they poured their life into it. Here's another thing I always hear on something like this is that don't quit, because you just never know how close you are, which is true. Oh, if we could only see like, oh close you are, which is true. Oh, if we could only see like, oh, tomorrow, right, it's just one minute's bend, yeah.

0:01:47 - Heather

But it's a choice. I mean seriously. It's a choice to keep going and it's a choice to give up. Yeah, but sometimes it just feels like I can't do. I'm weary, Mentally and physically I'm weary, and there's even a Bible verse about that. It says let us not grow weary, because in doing good, everything is going to happen in its proper time if we don't give up.

0:02:07 - Eric

We got to trust that.

0:02:08 - Heather

But how do you not give up? Let's call back another scripture, the one that says I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.

0:02:15 - Eric

Amen.

0:02:15 - Heather

We ask for his strength and he will give it to us. But, like Eric said, there's not any kind of overnight success or people aren't showing you the times where they felt like giving up.

0:02:26 - Eric

Be encouraged, never quit, never settle. Learn to appreciate where you are, even right now, in the process, of whatever it is, and remember, don't despise those small beginnings you know it's all part of an amazing journey that you're on to get to somewhere where God's leading you.

Hey, you got this with God to get to somewhere where God's leading you. Hey, you got this with God. Hey, if you're going through something painful right now, or a struggle or a situation that is causing you some grief, no matter what got you there or to this point, no matter how, maybe, lonely, your heart feels, know this there's something greater coming. There's something God has prepared for you. As tough as this moment might be, that could come seven minutes from now or seven days from now. We just don't know. Hang in there, keep holding on.

0:03:16 - Heather

And that's the thing. Hope makes all the difference, and sometimes people always talk about a glimmer of hope. Sometimes, maybe, that's all you have to hold on to. You know faith the size of a mustard seed. These are tiny, tiny, impossibly tiny things, but even an impossibly tiny bit of hope can get you through this really hard moment.

0:03:38 - Eric

You know, today could be the day when God answers that prayer. You know we pray and we always talk about the breakthrough will come. I'm always hopeful that today could be the day that it actually happens. Hey, and if it's not today, hang in there, because here's the thing, as you're processing something, as you're going through it.

I think it's good to give yourself some time to be alone in your thoughts. Talk to God about it, Process all of that information that you're dealing with right now, whatever it might be, and just ask God give you some clarity.

0:04:11 - Heather

And again, we're going to pray about something and we may have to pray about it 10 times, we may have to pray about it 100 times, but again, it's all in God's timing and I think that's where time by ourselves gives us the understanding and the peace that he will give us as we wait on his timing.

0:04:29 - Eric

That true peace of God that can only be found in him and you've heard it talked about before the peace that passes all understanding, which to me, says I don't understand it, but I still have a peace about it. Well, we hope you've been encouraged today. Thank you for listening to your encouraging five-minute podcast. If you need more encouragement even right now, download the WPER app. You know where you go to find your favorite apps. Yes, just search WPER.
