You set an alarm every day, probably Work days anyway. Yeah, exactly, there's someone I heard about who sets an alarm that goes off every afternoon at 3:16.

0:00:43 - Heather

Is that what time her kids get out of school?

0:00:45 - Eric

No, it's when she takes a praise break. Oh, that's the greatest idea. She thanks God, acknowledges his goodness, as soon as that alarm goes off. Typically, when an alarm goes off, it's unnerving.

Yes, yes, exactly I've got to get up and do something. I'm not ready for it yet. I'm just waking up. So what a brilliant idea. It could be any time of day, really, once you're up and going but to acknowledge God and his goodness in our life and communicates with him. Although she does that throughout the day by setting that alarm, it reminds her. No, this is specifically to praise God for who he is in this moment. I mean, we were created to worship God.

0:01:22 - Heather

Yes, we were. And sometimes it's hard so when you set an alarm to be purposeful, that makes you have to look for something in your life to praise him for.

0:01:32 - Eric

When the highs are high and you're on the mountaintop, who needs an alarm? But most of life isn't on the mountaintop, that's not where we live. So to set an alarm and do that, it's the greatest idea. And however you do that, when you set that alarm and praise God, whether it's a brief moment of singing to him or reading from his word like in Psalms, may the people praise you, god, may all the people praise you. He celebrates his sovereign rule and faithful guidance as a living testimony of his great love, his abundant blessings. Again. God is so good, he's so faithful toward us. Set that alarm today.

0:02:10 - Heather

Yeah, set the alarm, because we always talk about encouragement. But that attitude of gratitude, a mindset of gratitude, even if it starts slowly having to set an alarm, but that gratitude changes us mentally, it changes us physically, it changes us spiritually. Most people, on average, will feel that they're pretty intelligent.

0:02:36 - Eric

I'd like to think so, right.

0:02:38 - Heather

You've got a grasp on things, got a handle on things. I think I'm pretty smart until I'm asked to tap to pay for something.

0:02:45 - Eric

Tap to pay.

0:02:47 - Heather

Either using your phone or your card. Oh, we don't slide. You have to tap to pay and I'm like tapping here, tapping there, tap, tap. They're like no here, did that work here? Wait, hang on, let me do it. Okay, tap over here and my daughter with me the other day. I look over, her face is purple. She is mortified because I can't understand.

0:03:08 - Eric

Honestly, they try to make it easier for us Sure, the people that make these little machines that you have to tap somewhere.

0:03:16 - Heather

Why can't they make them all tap the same, like that's what I was going to.

0:03:20 - Eric

Let's be consistent across the board Whether you went to a grocery store or a pharmacy or a retail, or if you don't want to enter your pin, click the red button, nope, click the green one.

0:03:31 - Heather

Nope, this store it's the yellow one. So you end up holding everybody up in line, and then they get up. They're all frustrated with you and then here they go Tap here, here, here here. Punch green, red, orange, yellow, blue. Stand on one foot. Wait, I can't do this.

Hey, one last bit of encouragement. Yes, and we find our true encouragement in the word of God.

0:04:15 - Heather

Oh, absolutely, we're a little old school with this one. It's Numbers 6:24-26. A little.

0:04:20 - Eric

Old Testament wisdom. It's all in there, it's all truth.

0:04:24 - Heather

Yes, and the reason I love this verse it is a little blessing. That was spoken thousands of years ago, but it's just as relevant today.

0:04:34 - Eric

Well, relevant and you might hear it, depending on what church you go to. Exactly, exactly, I went to a small country church a few weeks ago and this almost sounded like the ending part that they shared. Oh, I love that. I know so Heather's gonna share from numbers here.

0:04:48 - Heather

Number 6:24-26. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. And those words were a blessing then, they're a blessing now and that's something I know, eric, and I very much want for you to have is the peace and the feeling, the peace of God.

0:05:15 - Eric

We hope. But how can you not be encouraged by that truly?
