Speaker 2:You know, life can be difficult sometimes. Breaking news right. We all know that. Heather knows it, I know it, but we want to remind you that, regardless of what you are going through today, god is with you.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he is, and I'm pretty sure that everyone has days that feel overwhelming. Maybe you're having a tough time at work, or there are difficulties in your home, or you just feel like you're a little bit lost. Right now, whatever is happening, breathe and know that you are not alone. God's love and power are with you. He will give you the courage to face whatever's in front of you.
Speaker 2:You know breathing is such an important thing. Just to take a few moments yes, I know it doesn't sound like much, but just to stop whenever you can, whenever you think about it, because when things are weighing you down, you do. You got to find a moment to be still breathe. Talk to God. Remember his word says over and over and over do not be anxious, don't worry. Don't be anxious, don't worry, don't be afraid. And while you're sitting there with God, just be honest, be open. He knows your heart. He already knows, but he wants to hear from you. Tell him what's bothering you, what's got you worried, what's overwhelming you, and then let his peace calm your heart. All you really need is a moment to pray in silence or a moment to thank him, to alter your mindset and remind you that everything will be all right.
Speaker 1:When my husband knows that I'm worried, he'll look at me and he will say to me baby, everything is going to be okay, he's right. Sometimes I just need to hear him say it right, and then I feel better. And there are times, honestly, I need my heavenly father to remind me that everything really is going to be okay. Maybe it's through his word or maybe other people in my life that he uses to remind me that everything's going to be okay, and when I hear that from God I do feel better, right in that moment. But also my outlook changes, right, and that is one of the most powerful things that we can do have that faith that God is working. And maybe it is behind the scenes and we can't see what he's working on, but we can know that he is working and he's making a way, he's guiding our steps. We can hold on to that hope that he's working out all things for good.
Speaker 2:Well, heather said it. You know, when you hear it from God and sometimes I think people they're like, well, I don't hear from God. But that comes through a lot of different ways, through reading his word. It's right there in scripture sometimes the reminders that hey, I'm with you always, you're not alone in this. So when someone says to me I don't quite hear from God, I'm like have you been in the Word? And I don't mean that to sound anything other than it's a reminder to me that I felt that way. Sometimes I'm not in His Word and constantly seeking Him and drawing nearer.
Speaker 1:You know, sometimes, especially at WPER, we've heard people say gosh, that was just the song I needed to hear. So maybe it could also be he speaking to you through one of the songs you hear on WPER, and a lot of those are straight up scripture.
Speaker 2:So, no matter what you're facing today and it might be a lot, I don't know Sometimes you go to bed with it and your first thought when you wake up is what you were dealing with the day before. I never forget that God is greater than any problem or problems that you might be facing. Sometimes I think it'd be good just to have one little problem.
Speaker 1:Oh, my word, instead of like 150 little ones and then one big one.
Speaker 2:But truly it's right there in his word. God is greater than any problem you'll ever face. Ever. He's your source of strength. He's a helper who's always with you, especially in times of trouble, when you feel like giving up. Read his promises, go to his word and hold onto those promises. Memorize them if you have to, and have faith that everything really is going to be okay.
Speaker 1:We're honored to be able to remind you of that truth, and if you've gotten some encouragement out of this podcast, would you share it with someone who might be a little overwhelmed and just needs to hear that everything is going to be okay?
Speaker 2:Someone needs to hear that today. If it's not you, it's someone else, maybe in your life.
