How To Read Two Charts

two charts. In this case, we're going to look at a couples chart who came to me for counseling. What do you do when you look at a chart of you and someone else and how that those charts mirror your dynamic? We're going to look particularly today with a focus on the Sun, Moon, and Venus-Mars dynamics in chart relationships. Always good too to remember, folks, that a when you look at our chart, each person's chart really is a birth chart, a map of the family consciousness that you're born into. So when we look at our birth chart, that birth chart itself is both a map of the sky, that is your season that you're born, your birth sign at the time of your birth, and also it's a map of the connections of mother and father's dynamics that we're born into. Like where are they in their relationship? How old are they? And where are they together in their marriage when we come in and enter their marital dynamic? That time of day, not just the season, the birth sign, but the time of day also has an imprint on the child and also an imprint on mom and dad. So keep in mind that when you look

at a birth chart, anyone's birth chart, yours, mine, that chart, that season sign, that birth sign, and that time that we enter that family dynamic is uh both imprinting the child and mom and dad. So you can look in this graphic, folks, if you're watching on YouTube, that um your birth sign is modified by the time of day. Are you born in the dawn, noontime, sunset, midnight? Those four turning points of every day in a way correlate with the four turning points of the seasons spring, summer, winter, fall. So when you look at the balance of a chart, the sun and moon phase, even, you know, your full moon baby, new moon baby, and also the interplay of two charts, the sun and moon dynamic between two people's charts. It's important to understand foundationally, the sun is your essence of being, your spirit force. It also describes the father when we were born, where dad was when we were children and being born. And the moon describes moon mommy, where mom was and her growth and development and how we experienced that. So think of moon, you can think of moon cycle for mom, you know, like literally a woman's moon cycle. So sun, father, moon, mother, and these this pair in each chart can be thought of as a direct reflective mirror of the family consciousness that we're born into. What is that dynamic between them that's imprinting us about relating in relationship? So here's an example of two clients who came to me for marriage counseling, um, both who had you know wonderful things happening, and as happens so commonly in relationships, some challenge points. Meet The Couple Case Study

of birth, but the data is really right on. So we have um a wife and husband figure, Danny, uh the wife, born uh August 8 of 1959, at 1117 in the evening, just before midnight, about an hour before midnight, in the Bronx, New York. And her spouse uh Lou, who's born October 24 of 1953, at 8.25 in the morning in Queens, New York. So here's Danny's chart. And one of the things that leap uh sort of leap off the page when we look at this chart, well, the top half of the wheel has Jupiter and Saturn, but the rest of the chart, the bottom half, has everything else. All the other planetary bodies are shown here. And this is astronomically correct. In other words, Saturn is pretty high in the sky when she was born. Jupiter was about to set, and here, right in that western sky at the partnership sector, Neptune just set astronomically. And these planets always for everybody's chart describe cycles. Like I said, you know, moon cycle for a woman's moon cycle is a giveaway for the moon placement in a person's chart. So Danny is August 8th of 59, 1117 p.m. in Bronx, New York, and there's that sun. In about an hour or two, it'll be at that midnight point of her birth chart, you know, at the bottom of the chart, the bottom of the sky. So Danny's got a big bundle of charts here in that part of the chart where the sun is at sunset time to midnight. It's all about the family dynamic. It's all about the inner world of family, and her nature as a Leo is creative, summertime creative. You know, there was mom had this baby born during uh the middle of summertime, August, when people are expressing and they're connecting and they're social family. So it's really that fiery sun, that that summertime, you know, beach going time of summertime when Danny was born. That is her nature is outer world Leo, fiery summertime. Lou is born again October 24 of 53 at 8:25 in the morning. So he's a sunrise baby, but his nature is Scorpio. In fact, he's just at the first day of Scorpio, with the

head sun at zero, Scorpio, and that Saturn at zero, Scorpio, right next to Neptune in his chart, just as the day is dawning and the sun's rising. But his nature, his birth sign, is Scorpio, almost Libra. So his nature is Libra, an air sign, but just in fact, slightly into one day, one degree into the sign of Scorpio. So Lou's nature is that Scorpio time. I always think of Halloween, you know, kind of the descent of the sun. Halloween's kind of more like um I think of nature uh going into hibernation or beginning that state of preparing for the descent of the sun every day, you know, earlier and earlier, longer nights. So his nature is more internal, where Danny's nature, Leo, is external. Her nature is extrovert, born at nighttime. She's a bit of an introverted extrovert in her nature. And he, Lou, being a Scorpio, especially with that Saturn Sun exact conjunction. This guy is born in that time of sort of internal, you know, the setting sun. You can think of the fall and long nights beginning that get you know deeper and darker as the winter approaches. So his nature is like the descent of focus, of self. It's internal, but he's rising sun. So he's a bit of an extroverted or outgoing internal personality. So we have really two different people. One person is daytime, one person is nighttime, one person's a bit of an extrovert, one person's a bit of an introvert. But the essential nature, the birth sign, says that Danny is really Leo. Fiery, extrovert, powerful in her character, nighttime baby, a little internal. And Lou, well, his essential nature is internal, and it's dawn, it's that sunrise time. Sun is just beginning here to rise into this fall day that he was born into. So it's kind of like the rising consciousness, yet he's uh internal. Well, let's see what happens when these two charts come together and how their dynamic flows. So sun to sun, fire signs, uh uh Leo, sorry, summertime for Danny, the inner wheel here. Uh that sun, August, Leo birth is fiery and sunshiny, um, but he is the fall, the descending sun. He's more internal. So Scorpio to Leo, um, that's a square relationship. Like I always say, like a what's a square like ceiling to a wall, inner tension. There's essentially an inner tension between his ego, his essential nature, and her essential nature. But look at this chart, folks. His son falls right on Danny's marriage angle, just off by six degrees. And his son also, almost Libra, with Danny's moon and Libra. Well, we have a sun-moon conjunction here, although it's kind of far. So it says when they meet each other, they're going to feel this instant sense of partnership connection to one another. That's that immediate bond. Sun-moon conjunction, Carl Jung, an astrologer, said when you see sun-moon between people's charts, that's an indicator that this couple instantly feels marriedally connected. And again, Lou's chart here, the outer wheel with that sun in Scorpio, it falls on Danny's marriage angle, right on it. So there's no doubt, as soon as they get together, even like meet each other, they're going to feel instantly a bond. So the sun-moon dynamic is basically wonderfully connected here. Although their essential natures fall heading to winter internal and midsummer Leo are really kind of a little bit trying to adjust to each other. They're going to have a lot to learn from each other to really have this flow. Also, too, each of these charts have a unique thing, and that is that both of them, I'll show you here individually, both of them have a Mars-Venus conjunction in their charts. Now, that conjunction of

Venus Mars Chemistry And Friction

Mars-Venus, folks, happens uh essentially like every year and a half or so. So it just happens to be when they were both born, they each have Mars-Venus conjunct in their charts. So when the charts come together, when I lay uh Lou's chart here over Danny's chart, the inner wheel Danny's chart, we see a Venus, Mars, Venus, Mars conjunction. Well, yeah, Venus, Mars, you think what? Romance, sex, sexuality. There is a powerful flow between them that's really, really um, you know, yummy. Like a so instant marriage, instant partnership, instant romantic sexual turn on and engagement. Those things are working really, really well. But again, there's some other things that are, you know, always as there are with connections of people. It's really rare you have a just flow, flow, flow. It's usually interchange and challenge. So there are a few points that are both wonderful, instant marriage, and some adjustment. Lastly, some one or last good points here, um, is that Venus of Lou's chart in Libra, right on top of Danny's moon, Venus moon conjunction. So that is a beautiful flow, a natural, easy loving of each other. So why would they come to me? What's the challenge point? Well, again, back to their essential birth sign. You know, I used to think for the first years of my practice years and years ago, that there are so many factors to look at in a birth chart. How can just one person's sun sign, that sort of ego energy season sign, be so foundational? But it really, really is. So these two people, um, their essential, their sons are, you know, summertime and the beginning of winter kind of at odds, kind of like that square relationship. That's the 90 degrees sun to sun in these charts. And yet, Lou's chart being uh son being right on Danny's marriage angle, that's a strong piece. So one of the things that also leaps off the page of this dynamic of the two, Danny, the wife and the inner, Lou the husband in the outer, is where um each person's son falls in the other person's chart. And again, for Danny, his son, Lou's son, falls right on her marriage angle, but also in the sixth house of job and work and health. So it brings it, um, Lou

Career Versus Withdrawal Pattern

may bring um health issues, you know, to Danny. And when we look at Danny's chart, Lou's on the inner wheel, and Danny's in the outer wheel. Well, Danny's Leo stuff falls all the top of Lou's chart. It says that Danny brings outer world, the wife brings outer world achievement. Now, like I said, Leo that she is, she's a fireball. So the way she hits Danny's life is to bring him out of himself. This is a fantastic placement that um Lou's chart has Danny, the spouse, on the career angle of his chart. And she has um the experience of Lou's chart being on her marriage angle and work job angle. So when they come together, they can really be a power team in terms of career and working together if they can overcome the fact that their essential natures is Danny, Leo, one person's outgoing, and Lou Scorpio, one person's inward going. Well, what happens when you blend them? Well, Danny's chart on Lou's chart is a giveaway. So Danny, the wife's chart, is that Leo on the top, the outer world career, that that outer world part of a chart, is this the career sector, folks? At the top of Lou's chart here, Danny hits uh Lou's life like a wonderful bomb of outgoing career achievement. And this chart says that his wife will be the career social mover, she'll be the mover in this relationship. And what we have in Lou's chart naturally is that Scorpio, that um Scorpio, Saturn, Neptune, Sun conjunction here, um, tends to withdraw. So both of them have that Venus-Mars, Venus-Mars placement I mentioned. That's the mark of artists. Each of them are artists and creative artists. In fact, Lou is a painter. And what do painters oftentimes do as artists might spend a lot of time in their studio, a lot of time solo? And so a dynamic that unfolds here is that Lou's uh Danny's chart. While she can bring Lou out of himself, Lou has to participate and sort of follow Danny, his wife's lead, into the outer world. Or if Lou does a Scorpio thing and does the reverse and withdraws, that could be problematical. You know, Danny being a summertime baby, as a Leo, she's looking for a partner to run with and create with. So if this spouse does an inward-going thing and withdraws, there could be some trouble. And that's part of the dynamic that did wind up unfolding. As she rose in her outer world power of achievement and creativity, he kind of withdrew more. So, what's the solution there? For each of them to seek that balance, for them each to seek each other's strengths. But in this case, Danny is such a powerful Leo for Lou to sort of follow. You know, I always say in a relationship dynamic,

Balancing Gifts And Next Steps

whether it's marriage or uh you know family relationship, or even like parent child or parent-adult child, yeah, part of what charts describe is you know where our where our essential gifts are. And so if we can blend those gifts, that's the that's the juju. That's what makes relationships come together. And so my advice here for Danny and Lou is Danny's a powerhouse naturally, Lou is going to be inspired and can join and follow her. But if Lou does not do that, this will be a situation where Danny is trying to, you know, pull on Lou and Lou is resisting and withdrawing. And that I think unfortunately is part of most of what had happened in this dynamic, but it could have gone either way. It depends on always the bottom line with a person's chart, our intent, our awareness, our awareness of self, and our mindful intention of what we're doing and where we're going.
