Our secret that has helped us live long, fit, healthy, happy lives well into our 70s? 

It's resistance stretching. That's the answer for our ageless strength and flexibility. 

We've unlocked the secret to ageless vitality and it's resistance stretching. 

It's the foundation of our stretching system.

And you know it's crazy because it's completely counterintuitive. 

We stretch muscles under contraction. 

We build strength and flexibility simultaneously. 

This is a unique approach and it's what saved my broken body in 2007 and keeps me moving well at 70 years old. 

You might be familiar with traditional stretching that elongates the muscles as you relax them. 

We do the opposite. We engage muscles as we stretch, creating resistance. 

This eccentric contraction is the key to our system's effectiveness . 

Do you know what eccentric is? It's the opposite of concentric. 

Do you know what concentric is? 

Think you're doing a bicep curl, and you curl that weight up.

You know how to make a Popeye muscle. 

That's concentric. 

When you drop the weight down, that's eccentric. 

Why does this work better than other methods? 

Well, it is all about that eccentric phase of the muscle movement. 

See, eccentric contractions happen just like I said, when muscles lengthen under tension, like lowering a weight.

This type of contraction has been shown to be more effective at building strength and flexibility than those weight building concentric contractions. And that's shortening the muscle. 

But here's the real kicker and the reason we do body weight. 

Stretching a muscle under contraction takes twice the weight of strengthening a muscle concentrically. 

That's where your body comes in. 

Your own body weight provides the perfect resistance for our stretching system. 

There's no fancy equipment needed. Your body is the smart workout machine. 

Now, there are really amazing benefits to resistance stretching. 

It builds strength and flexibility, both at the same time.

It increases muscle coordination and control, 

lowers the risk of injury, 

And it's suitable for all ages and fitness levels. 

When I talk about building strength and flexibility at the same time... if you're doing the contraction, in both directions, that creates an aerobic stretch. 

Think about that. You're bringing oxygen into that muscle you're stretching.

You all know what aerobics do. It's that benefits for your muscle. That oxygen comes in, that muscle gets stronger and stronger. You can go through the whole range of motion and have strength through that whoLe range.. 

So let's say you're my age and you slip and fall on the ice and you do the splits. 

Well, most of us, that might tear a hip up. 

But you know what?

If you've got strength through the full range, it does not bust everything up. 

That's the key. 

We want that strength for a full range of motion.
