SPEAKER_00:

Hey, this is Kelly with G's Italian Kitchen. I'm outside in my garden. I have two herb gardens, uh, one that come back and one that they don't. So I wanted to just show you because now it's uh fall and you either need to yank stuff or just let it let it hang out. So here we have my basil, which you can see looks like absolute horrid. That you need to pull, but that is not gonna make it through the winter. Now look at this my rosemary plant. Now, this, if you're in the Midwest, is not gonna make it through the winter, but oh wait, there's another basil. Oh my gosh, yeah, bad. Um, the rosemary is great to transplant. So if you put it in a big pot and bring it inside, and then in the spring, you can plant it back outside in the ground again, and it'll be totally fine. You just kind of need to nurse it over the winter. So then let's come over to the garden of the stuff. Oh my gosh, of the stuff that um does come back, and you do not need to bring it inside if you're in the Midwest. So I need to pick my peppers. I've got some bell peppers, little bell babies, sweet ones, and jalapenos. Not sure what I'm gonna do with all those. Holy cow! Then this beautiful plant that is oregano, which I obviously need to uh take the flowers off, but I haven't used it recently, so I need to do that. Then, um, oh, and there's a kale. Can you see the little kale right there? That little guy. He actually is gonna not make it through the winter, but they are much hardier and they will stay um stay alive for much longer into like a deep freeze. So even if you're getting down to the the early 30s um at night, these guys will probably be okay for a little bit. Then look at this monster. That's my sage. I am gonna cut it back, but it will make it through the winter in the Midwest. So I'm gonna cut it back, and then in the spring, it's going to be beautiful again and look like these. Look at their so pretty. They look like the little uh bunny ears, love it. So oh yeah, fresh sage on uh a homemade brown butter sauce for raviolis. Mm-mm-mm-mm. Um, if you haven't cut all your basil and they didn't look like death over there, cut your basil. And uh earlier this week I actually posted a recipe um and a little video. I'm making basil cello, like a lemon cello, but basil cello. I'm so excited to try this. I had a friend that was in Italy, I don't remember what city she was in, and um had it over there and said it was fabulous. So I'm uh I'm making it. We'll see what it looks like or see what it tastes like uh for now. Kelly with Gia's Italian Kitchen. Um, post some comments or questions in the notes or send me an email, Kelly K-E-L-L-E-Y at Gia's Italian Kitchen.biz, Giaz G I A S. Gia's Italian Kitchen dot biz B-I-Z. And let me know what's happening in your neck of the woods with herbs outside, what you're bringing inside. Um, that rosemary bush actually, I'm so bummed because in Tuscany, um, they actually they'll stay all winter and just get bigger and bigger and bigger. So I'm very jealous of that. But I am gonna transplant that guy and bring him inside. So I will have from some fresh rosemary for the holidays. So, anyway, have a great night and we'll talk to you soon. Bye.
