Hey, this is Gia's Telling Kitchen. Have you ever made your own granola? Have you ever looked at the back of a package of a pre-made processed bag of granola that you think you're bringing home to your family? And you think is healthy? Listen to these ingredients. Whole grain oats, okay, great. Sugar, modified cornstarch, whole grain corn, canola oil, sunflower oil, honey, molasses, salt, brown rice flour, cornstarch, baking soda, trip potassium, phosphorate, caramel color, annato extract, almond flavor. High fructose corn syrup. That's not even the end of it. That's not great. It's not terrible, but like that doesn't sound very great to me. And it has a lot of ingredients in it that you wouldn't think would be in a homemade granola. So I guess, like anything, you should always turn something over and look at the ingredients. And if you can't pronounce everything, you probably shouldn't buy it. Because whatever that is, it's a chemical, it's going in your body. But anyway, um, let's think about making our own granola. It is so easy, you guys. It's crazy. Um we did this just the other day. Oh my gosh, it's so good. Okay, so old-fashioned raw oats, raw pumpkin seeds, raw sunflower seeds, unsweetened coconut chips, raw pecans, raw walnuts, pure maple syrup, extra virgin olive oil, and a little bit of light brown sugar. That's it. I will post this recipe in the notes and onto my website. You mix all this stuff up, you bake it on a cookie sheet for 30 minutes, tossing every 10 minutes gently to just kind of stir it up and then let it cool and eat it. And you have an all-natural homemade granola. It'll stay fresh for about a month at least in an airtight container. You could also store it in the freezer if you wanted to make big batches of it. Um, and make a a uh a protein bowl with some Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. So good. Give it a try. You will not be sorry. It is delish and healthy, all natural. Let's get cooking.
