Hi everyone. Leah Solorio, Founder CEO inspire careers. Thank you for tuning in to my podcast, coming to you from the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose, California. I wanted to bring you in on a conversation that I had with my very first boss in this industry Frank Dali. I believe it's going to be inspirational. The background story, I had received that very nice letter that said you're qualified. Thank you, but no thank you. In other words, we filled the positions, you know those letters... the rejection letters. Let me tell you something. A NO is just a NO, not right now. And I want to prove it to you... Hi Frank, hello. I started out my career with the County of Santa Clara and I applied to the County, and I got your letter that rejected me by saying thanks but no thanks, you already had, you know, X number of candidates and that was the end of it. I heard that a position was vacant because someone I knew rejected the opportunity and I approached you, called you and expressed my interest, saying I was qualified. You lost a person (from the hiring process). I'm interested. What were your thoughts on that? Because that probably never happened to you. Right? So, can we talk about that a little bit?

That was a long time ago, but I do remember that yeah, it was a very unusual situation that I've never experienced before. Having somebody like that follow up. I had people occasionally call or you know, requests to why I was turned down and stuff like that, but nothing ever, like what you had done, which was, you know, showed that certain tenacity and not giving up attitude, I think eventually was a big part of the reason that we actually or I actually did go ahead, put through paperwork and get you hired at that time. I thought, well this young lady is really interested in this position. She's not going to give up. I see this, how tenacious she can be. And I think for the programs we were running at that time, that was a big asset. And so not only were you personable, but you know, very, very knowledgeable and willing to work hard. You could tell that right of way. So, I think that was part of the uniqueness of that type of response that I got from you at that time.
