Episode 175: The Kidnapping of Barbara Jane Mackle

In December 1968, Barbara Jane Mackle had come down with the flu. She felt so poorly that she had to cut out of an exam early and head to a hotel where her mother took care of her. At 4 a.m., kidnappers knocked on the door and took Barbara by force. They demanded her father hand over $500k or risk his daughter dying underground. Gary Crist and Ruth Eisemann-Schier buried Barbara in a coffin outside of Atlanta, GA, with enough provisions to last her seven days.
